Using phone today. Moved from Nokia 5 to Lumia 950. And i love it. It has not much app, but for me it's ok. Youtube, facebook, gmail is working. Camera is great. Memory and storage also good. Nice fact that you can change phone battery by yourself. Gonna us phone as much as i can.

I loved Windows phones. my first one was the Samsung SCH-i600 back in 2004; beautiful phone. after that one more Samsung and HTC window phones. Unfortunately for Windows the Apple and Android era came very aggressive. Apple (fancy) became huge and Android was ok. windows didn't develop apps and lost the competition. Even though my last windows phone was the Lumia 950. very nice phone with no apps and no battery. Yup, the battery didn't last 4 Hrs and for a working phone its was the worst. I am super happy with my Pixel 3, waiting for the 4.

I agree, with the comments praising Windows phone. I had a Windows 6 and then 8 and 8.1. The experience of use was so much better than Android and iOS which I now use. The reason I moved to iPhone was an app I rely on daily was no longer updated for Windows phone and there is no equivalent on Windows mobile platform. I also agree that if MS had gone ahead with the running of Android apps I would not have changed. Download on Android and Apple and it can be very difficult to find the files. Win 10? Download Folder. I would like it not to RIP but to be resurrected with Android or iOS app compatability.

Agree with you, I also received the latest update. The camera can still fight with newer Android smartphones of today. App gap is also not a problem for me and I love the fact that I can disable a certain app from running on background. Try to do that on standard Android.

What a shame. I am in the process of going Android after many years of Lumia 820/930 and 950. I will always remember what a nice operating system Windows was and how I enjoyed the phones. Android is a necessary evil to me! Will try my best.

Just got an update as of 17th of June 2019. This phone still has some good specs compared to todays phones. Very good 20 MP camera and 2K Amoled screen. Still copes well with most tasks and battery & heat problems are long gone. In 2015 it was ahead. Of course I'm missing out a few apps but using a website usually works and I dont have to worry so much about permissions.

Have had this phone for a short while, love it. I'm going to keep using it as long as i can, until it can't do its job anymore. I'm hearing that MS is killing Win 10 phone support in June 2019, and that apps will start going dark. It's a shame, as this is a really good phone, aside from the usual MS glitches. The 20mp camera is one of the best things about it. I think that if MS had stayed with mobile phones, especially with the great specs like this one, they eventually would get a bigger share of the market. Guess that's what we get for corporate greed.

Still using my Lumia 950 in April 2019. I'll eventually have to upgrade to another phone (probably a Nokia Android) by 2020, but I love this phone so much it will be hard to let go. The 20mp Zeiss Pureview camera and resolution quality are what keeps me on this platform. Even compared with my wife's iPhone 8, the Lumia produces better quality photos and a much more natural HD mode. After I find an upgrade I am probably going to still keep this around just for taking pictures.

I have loved windows phones for years. I am not big on apps, so the lack of selection there doesn't bother me. However, I do take a lot of pictures. The way that windows handles organizing pictures by month and year, being able to navigate to any given month/year by just tapping, is invaluable to me. Also, the way the cloud works to back up all my files is awesome. My word, excel, and pdf files sync seamlessly with my surface tablet and desktop. Whenever I switch phones, I can use the "transfer my files" app to transfer contacts, and text messages. Additionally, the live tiles on the home screen make things much easier to navigate. I still have much love for the Windows phones!

Lumia 950XL is a great phone.I am using since last two years. No problem.Very stable phone.Still original battery is ok.It last for 24Hrs. I don't need more App.Basic apps are sufficient. Windows update is problem. I am going to use this phone till it works.

Great camera and amoled screen with a huge res. Battery and a lack of apps is the only downfall. The battery tends to lose its longevity after 1 years use. They are replaceable however. I'm on my 3rd replacement battery now.

I have it from 15 months ago. My Lumia 950 is very good and fast. Pictures and videos are satisfying good. The only problem is with crashing apps. There is no more support/development of applications. Regarding the battery: I feel that it's weaker, but it sustains a day with moderate usage...

My Lumia 950 works still great, have one little issue now, outlook agenda isn't synchronizing well on my phone. Further on camera is still very clear, marvelous pics and films I've made with it. The lives tiles are for me very easy working with, everything you use many times you can add to your home screen. Due to policy of Microsoft several apps are not working anymore, but everything is still working online, so for me it's no problem. Love the W10M system, synchronizing directly with my pc !

To those who think about buying Lumia 950 because other old Lumias were great... dont do it. I had myslef Lumia 625, it served me for like 5 years, it was actually awesome, for its price it was outstanding, more than you expect. Got Lumia 950, WP10 is complete garbage, the phone has 6 cores and 3gb ram and it sometimes become super slow. Battery time is a joke. Downgrade to WP 8.1 is impossible, so you are stuck with worst OS possible which had no love neither from Microsoft nor App developers. The only good thing it has is a camera.

yes john, I have both the 4s right beside me now. The 4s camera is 21mp... wow 1mp more... BUT it does not have OIS or even EIS...really this is a 2017 phone! Sure the screen is .3" bigger but its only a 1080p. It does not have FM radio. The 4s does not have dual sims. And the 4s is WAY TOO LIMITED on usable 3G, 4G and LTE bands (I travel with my phones).

the issue is your battery. I recommend replacing with an OEM as the chosen manufacturer by MS is pretty awful. But at ~20 bucks new battery that isn't worthless is far cheaper than an iPhone X

The 950 is a really good phone. It works perfectly for me. Bluetooth (sometimes pb, like android and others, i have android too), word, excel, onenote, etc..., remote contrôle, notification, 20mo photo, beautiful screen, battery that u can change, easy to display on a tv, with the dock it's perfect, teamviewer etc like other. Select text is easy than android, copy and paste too, synchronisation with windows 10... People are crazy. I bought it 300€ in begin of 2017. Is just the best. I use it every day, for private and work.

This is the best phone I have ever had! Only minus is that there are fewer apps in the store, but if you compare Android with this in other areas then Android is just shit! The way of working at Windows Mobile is really luxurious compared to Android! Continiuum also works very well, just a pity that there are not many apps for it. You don't have a dud, this phone is crap!! sent mine to MS for repair, came back no fault found and going to charge me if I send it back again! issues are, poor bluetooth still!! poor battery life, problems opening phone, keeps rebooting, freezing, reboots when using camera and does it very slowly, randomly deletes my photos!! I could go on but you'll all get bored. Bottom line is it is a terrible phone with little or no support from MS! I will never by a windows phone again!!

If you have fast battery drain, random reboot and over heat problem with any Windows phone devices this not related to Windows 10 Mobile or any build. This is just because most of the Windows Phone devices are older than a year or two so the battery is expired. Replacing the battery will fix fast battery drain, random reboot and over heat problem of Windows Phone. I had same problem, I replaced mine now I don't have any problem. I highly recommend you to replace your battery if you have same problem 🔋.

Try getting an update using Wifi before doing the battery. ATT messed up some of the updates and I had issues as well. No longer an issue since the update.

I have had this phone for over a year now, so have given it a good chance and I have had windows phones for the last 5 or 6 years and have loved them, but this one is a real stinker. The software is terrible as I have to turn it off to reset the software on a daily basis as apps like Spotify keep glitching. I keep having Bluetooth issues, especially when connecting to the car, but this could be the Nissan Connectivity? I also have issues with unlocking the screen and sometimes have to press the unlock button multiple times before it will unlock. The speaker is rear mounted and not very good quality and the unit does get very hot if you work it which drains the battery quickly. On a positive, if your main objective is a good camera, then look no further, the one on this phone is brilliant. Not sure if I have a dud but this has put me off ever again buying a Microsoft phone. Oh, and there are very few apps!

Yes, actually, very good phone, I have no probs with it and I happen to really like Windows. BUT I have always had and wanted FM radio, and GSM says it has it, BUT is does not! The XL does but not the regular, which is annoying because good though it is; AND I waited and got it unlocked for only $399, I would never have bought a phone without FM. I have to use my previous 930 for that. So now will prob get the Nokia 8 next, which is Android, but it doesn't look like any more Windows phone will be coming.

Best phone I have ever owned. Done with the i's and androids. The best advice I can deliver is to give this a go. It has facial recognition and no home button so why wait for an i8. I have found an app for everything. Maps is better than googles flagship which surprised me. and good on full GPS.

Just bought the phone 2 weeks ago. And works great in every way. I have easily 2 days of battery. You might want to reset and update your phone, and also try at least for one day to not install whatsapp. You may have too many contacts spamming uselessly and draining your battery (just like FB)

I wanna ask you question. I got this mobile since last ten months. But i never have whole day battery back up. My day start with 8 am and my battery is down to 20-30 percentages by around 2-3 pm. Screen brightness is 50 percentage, have not installed games. I am not used to watch many videos on mobile. call are very less, around 8-10 calls during that time. Whatsapp is the only application, which is actively being used. No facebook. Location service is disabled. Can you suggestive me something ?

I used to have Lumia 610, 630, 930 and now I am having 950 for a year and half and I really love it! It gives me everything what I need. I call, I text, use apps like WhatsApp, Skype, Instagram, Facebook and Messenger (these last two are bit slower, but I do not mind, because I am addicted to them). I use maps a lot, Outlook, Fitbit and I take pictures a lot (perfect pictures that I can use for presentations and for brosures/posters in our company). I corrected so many thesis on this phone by using Office and Adobe. I love that I do not have to charge it every day. Wifi and cellular data work perfectly fine to me. I am really happy having this phone.

There is no longer a fm radio app, which sucks I know. The best 2 radio apps I've found is Tunein radio, and I Heart radio. They're both great, you can't go wrong with either one, but I just use the I heart radio app I like it.

Windows Mobile is the platform used by WhatsApp to test all new development... all the features first exist on Windows Mobile before they're ported to Android and iOS, so please post correct information. Skype is a Microsoft product itself and is fully supported on Windows Mobile (it is dropped on old Windows Phone 8.1 devices, but as well on many other devices like BlackBerry, Samsung Smart TV's, ...).

I had many phones. I start with the Windows phones with low cost Lumia 520. It was the first "smart" phone that actually worked even after a year. All my Android phones slow down significantly after that time. The latest phone I have bought is Lumia 950. I don't bother to switch off WIFI, LTE, navigation, ... and the battery last whole day. It may get worm on prolonged use but I have plastic protection around it and this is expected. The updates are made in the background and the phone is functional at all time. Even Windows updates notify user for restart only. Android devices make updates twice a week for 20+ apps I don't need and they become unresponsive during the update process (hours of frustration). Windows phone has all apps that I need out of the box therefore only Microsoft and its affiliates can track my communication but not a next door boy with too much spare time. If you don't mind games, if you know why you have a smart phone, and if you want a peace of mind for protection then the Windows phone is all you need. It has compass, it has offline navigation's maps and turn-by-turn navigation, it has great camera, Office, Outlook, Skype, ... all I need in one secure package. ;-)

Should be good for travelling, maybe a little Netflix around the home. I'm hoping feature2 rejoins the main dev branch soon, because the fall creators update windows features like Cortana skills and "timeline" will be boss on a windows phone. Already picked out 27 apps and games I want to install :P Never had a camera this good, nor a screen on a phone. My old phone is 2013, and midrange at that. I suppose you wanna do the hard reset. If it so, go to the All settings -> System -> About and on bottom you will find the option you need. Be careful, this will erase all your data. Maybe you want backup your personal information before you run the reset.

Get second hand lumia 930, great phone and does not cost much now. If digitizer works on your 640 you can try to "fix" it with scren protector, not cost much to try.

If you want more storage, faster processor, more RAM, better quality speakers and better build quality then you can go for Alcatel Idol 4S Windows, it costs just $288 at T-Mobile store, and unlike other phones available from T-Mobile it's actually factory unlocked. However it doesn't have removable battery, bigger and cumbersome 5.5 inch screen and although it's factory unlocked still then T-Mobile makes you pay $25 extra for their SIM and go through all the SIM activation process while buying the device even if you don't need the T-Mobile SIM.

The worst phone ever! Every app has alot of bugs. The Edge is the worst browser ever. I am light internet user and it drains battery by attacking it with 85%!!! Half apps are totally useless and the other half are full of bugs. So poor and shameful performance of OS made by Microsoft. this phone was so great the camera is perfect (only main camera, the front camera wasn't good at all) great storage, but the battery is very weak it didn't last 5 hrs. if i turned on mobile data and actually use it in calls and chat.. etc. and of course the lack of app. in the store and the worst version of the existing ones was a nightmare otherwise it was one of the best phones up until few weeks it kept restarting itself on its own every time it's out of the charger. i reset the phone but still it kept doing that and every time it was restarted the battery goes down to 15% even it was fully charged. then yesterday the screen went full black no lights nothing even when it's open. i literally didn't do anything to the phone it went full crazy on its own.

I have a lumia 640 and loved it.I dropped it and the screen is slightly cracked. I like the windows platform and daughter is pushing me toward a Samsung Galaxy s6. Backup to cloud and manually copy files over USB to a desktop, then do a hard reset via settings menu. Will not overheat and go back to normal without additional effort.

Gsmarena is no more using flash for 360 degree view, they have switched to html5, however you would need the latest Edge or Internet Explorer 9 browser to view it. Edge browser is only available on Windows 10 Mobile devices and Internet Explorer 9 is available only on Windows Phone 8.1 devices. In simple words yes you can view Gsmarena 360 degree view on Windows 10 Mobile and Windows Phone 8.1 devices but you can't view it on older Windows Phone 8, 7.5 and 7 devices.

This phone is great. Not just about camera, continuum, and display. It's also about first smartphone using iris scanner. That's what i called sophisticate phone, not just smartphone. Win 10 mobile is perfect for this phone. If anyoje say there is a lot of bugs, just keep it update regularly.

This would be a business phone when there arent be about milion bugs on every single app. Company does not care about customers, why should we do? It seems that you have better idea of Windows Phones. Why can't we just accept that Windows OS on mobile is way behind Android and IOS and MS is even helping its OS. Agreed that it is free from junks and bloatware but we need to agree on the fact that it really fall behind in terms of apps. You seem not to be using banking website on Edge browser? Since developers are not at all interested in developing apps for Windows Phones, we do not have any other choice but to access online banking through our Edge browser. But here again it is a failure of OS. At least they can make Edge browser as good as Edge on PC so people like me can access online banking through their website in absence of apps. It has good hardware. I don't mind the design even. Just that the software is pretty poor compared to android or ios. There are no apps except my essential ones and even they are poor. Wouldn't recommend this phone for anyone but the person looking for a good yet expensive feature phone. Nokia should've chosen android.

That's awful its because they always upgrade builds you see, it's ongoing experiment. I myself use a 8.1 512ram phone they wont upgrade it. I was very disappointing in them basically saying STFU its a paper weight phone now. I can still use 8.1 and it's good and at least stable, this whole 10 business including computer see many people unhappy. They want you to have pc/phone in one, but i feel it's a long way of mobile perfection. Microsoft are new to phones, it is a risk unlike Nokia, you should wait for Nokia /Android will be amazing. My Nokia 950 was a $600 piece of crap. had issues with the microphone, locking up, battery getting hot, connectivity to wifi, now it just shuts off at random and won't restart till you remove the battery for about 10 minutes or so. then you might get lucky or like the other day had to do it 5 times. at&t turned me over to Microsoft because they didn't have any batteries. now Microsoft has washed their hands of it. So if you want to pay $600 dollars for a piece of junk with no support to back it up this is the phone for you. or you could just get an iPhone for about the same

Comparing this lumia 950 to my S5. I hear bad reviews, why? I love the feel of this from the start. 32gb,20mp camera GGlass3 and alot of really quality features that i still don't know about yet because ive not used Microsoft phones and not used to windows10. I'm actually liking this better than my s5 android BUT android is way faster on basic connectivity functions. This lumia seems to have to connect alot longer before web screens load which is a little frustrating. It felt really nice out of the box and designer packaging gave me a nice experience but no headphones?and confused why power charger cable is a fixed cord. So far though i really like it. Only owned it 24 hrs but once i get used to it i think I'll like it more. Was surprised this time around.

such a great phone. took the best pictures even better than all my iphone users friends. Colours are more radiant and brighter that made me proud i will be the one who will take group selfie since my phone took the best pics. but of course, that amount of greatness comes with a bit overpricing, since the bad thing about it is microsoft/nokia phones are incompatible devices to many apps, like Instagram, googledrive etc etc. but that's because why i chose nokia. because of its simplicity.

Great phone, but there is not enough dev support, i get mad everyday with bluetooth connection problems (have to restart my phone), messenger hangs (have to restart my phone), spotify in offline mode (have to restart my phone), and if you think about it, there's no way to restart your phone, you have to turn it off, and on :) For everyday use, is ok, the camera is great, outlook/calendar, sms/skype...

The best of phone hardware, best camera better than iphone 7 that newly breed. The only lack is apps (which like banking, and most apps some still buggy, less development and developer) other than that it just superb phone i ever used. Continuum just a hype but hey! its great and smooth experiences!

For ten years I was with iOS and Android, this is my first WP after four years (used briefly Htc 8s). And this is FANTASTIC PHONE! Fast enough, brilliant camera (one of the best on the market), qHD AMOLED with fine colour tuning, quick charging, really, really good phone. Plus modernized Windows (transparent tiles, black and white background, double tap wake/sleep, movable navigation bar, fast Edge, Glance option, wallpapers under moving and resizing tiles, file explorer, Here offline nav, quick Iris scanner etc. etc.) And now is very cheap. One minor minus is absence of notification led and the second, biggest designer mistake of this amazing phone - LOUSY BIG FAT BEZELS! Despite that, this is still one of the best phones even today. If they put small effort and made something nice as Htcs and Samsungs are, they've could make big impact on market and finally bring Windows Phone as a fine platform (which is much better than stupid Android!) to masses. But Microsoft missed oportunity. Again. I think that it can't be coincidentally. Or they hired idiots in designer team.

As a peace of hardware the phone is decent. But if device is considered as a package of software and hardware that make user experience together, this is not worth to buy and being annoyed all the time. I changed from the Nokia Lumia 1020 to the MS Lumia 950..and wow..its awesome..got it for a month now and absolutley happy with it. Camera is amazing..panorama shots incredible, light, no problems from start. Microsoft will surely increase market share if this is the platform they are going to use for future phones. Well done MS. I recently upgraded to from the NOKIA 930 to the Microsoft 950, as i was told by the dealership that it is such a great phone to much disappiontment. What a terrible device. With the upgrade (on the first device), the battery did not last even one day, so I took the handset back. After the dealership informed me that there was indeed a default in the phone, they will replace the handset. In which they gave me a different MS 950. What a disgrace....the phone got so hot at times (without it being used) you can't even put the phone to your ear. Again I took the handset back and yip, once again the phone had a default. Nokia ain't Nokia if its not made by Nokia.....

I was very happy with the Nokia Lumia 925, so I upgraded to the Microsoft Lumia 950 as soon as it got out. At first, it was a good experience, save a battery drain problem. But as Microsoft "upgraded" it, it became worse and worse to the point I cannot considering using it anymore for professional usage. It is unreliable, unstable, erratic and does what it wants. Sometimes, the screen does not react, leaving you infuriated to be unable to pick up an important phone call. One night, I was confronted to a life and death emergency on the road. I found out to my absolute dismay that the phone was in the process to upgrade itself... Watching the bar inch forward to pass an emergency call while a person is bleeding to death next to you is not an experience I wish to live again (miraculously the person survived). I am not counting the times when the phone seems normal but cannot receive calls because it expects a sim card code (of course, it rebooted at some point without asking, with superb disregard for scheduled time... Or not considering useful to notify the user that phone is offline). When you find out and the missed calls notifications start to pile in, you'd want to hurl the thing out of the window. The calendar management is pitiful, does not support google, and does not work well with... Outlook.com (it mixes up the accounts in manners nobody can understand). Continuum is a joke (better use an iPad with iCloud). Groove music is the worst player around. Pictures gallery does not remember where it was when you open a picture (letting you scroll down hundreds of pics to reeume browsing...). I stop here but the list goes on. I am not a geek. I chose the Lumia because at first it seemed simpler that an Android and better for work than the iPhone. I did not expect that I'd need any sort of technical skills to simply be able to use it when I need it or to make it behave in a common sense manner. To me, it was designed by people who are clueless about how a phone is used in a day-to-day manner. After 11 months of experience, I found that the user experience has considerably degraded, despite the blaring promises. I must say I LOVE Windows 10 on PC as it is a really good and simple system for non-specialists (who represent the majority). But on the Lumia, it is simply catastrophic. I think I will never buy another Lumia phone again unless significant and decisive improvements are made. Sounds like the proximity sensor at the top of your phone is being obscured by your screen protector (standard or tempered glass). If not then it may be faulty. Had an issue with proximity sensor on my own Lumia 930 had to send it off for a fix, basically the glass on the screen needed re-glued...

It is a beautiful phone I had the 950xl but had to return it because of the problems. Some of my issues were that the phone has been out a year almost and more and more problems keep showing up. Ones that has never been fixed since launch. Big issues are that it will never stay connected to WiFi and data seems to not work half the time. We never got those apps that they been promising to bro.g to WP store. I have been a WP user since the very beginning but all these crappy phones keep getting put out before they should or that they never fix problems on a high end phone that they are bringing to compete. I have about one crappy WP left before i say good bye to windows

This is an excellent phone. Have had Android and Apple. Excellent specs. The problem is MS. They are ignoring this market and are pre occupied with cloud and what that entails. They could seriously eat into both Samsung and Apple but would require a slight modification of their direction. Phones are the new interface. While they may not have the margin or cache of cloud or other things it is what most people see. We have looked at making apps as a MS partner for the phone and they make it difficult. Have to jump through hoops to write apps as a partner and get certified. Should be as easy as pie since that is what is holding them back. Most people do not use that many apps, really, but the perception is lack of apps means a dying platform. They could win this if they really wanted to.

I bought a new Windows 950 in April because I was due for an upgrade and my Lumina 1520 - which I still miss and love - wasn't charging and is Windows 8.1. Little did I know........ The new Windows phones are now made by Microsoft, no longer Nokia. This is a cheap and low performing phone. I just un wrapped my third replacement. First replacement was my fault as I dropped it. People make me laugh with the ''app gap'' because dont you do your research before buying anything? If you've bought this phone without researching what apps you use your an idiot. People buy cars but dont buy the first one they test drive. They research what they want, need and whether it's viable for them. People need to do this with this phone with people who actaully have iti or use not listen to other people who clearly dont. I've had mine for 8 months, researched other phones and was aware of an app issue. But I went through what app I needs and it wasnt an issue for me. People who know Windows 10 has an app issue then buy the phone and complain make me laugh. There's people who do have the phone and complain. Do me a favour look online for answers to questions or issues to problems. Dont moan do something about it. Sure I've had questions and issues listed on here. But I got them answered or solved within hours. I love my Lumia because it's different, the battery lasts 1.5/2 days, camera is great, can have a home screen to my liking and the overheating is very very rare these days. Running hot while charging was a problem many builds ago, run the updates first if you have just unwrapped it, then comment. It is really not getting hot any more for a long time! I've used many windows phones, from the early 800, to the 1020 and 1520 and I must say the 1020 and 1520 are still solid working phones, really great and very matured. I still find the 800 usable, and that can't be said about many Android or Apple phones that are that old! If you want to use your phone as long as possible, a MS phone really is the better choice! In some respects I still slightly prefer the 1520, but then when I grab my 950 again I forget about all that and enjoy the USB-C, with display dock. It feels so luxurious sitting on the sofa with a wireless mouse and mini keyboard, having everything that's already on my phone displayed super large. I can't believe how fast Netflix also works on this device! It is high res instantly! And the display of the device itself is also amazing!!!! Two of my colleagues have bought the 650 and ditched their Iphones and they use them professionally and are very happy with them too, despite the somewhat simpler hardware the at a first glance these phones feel much like the 950, although the extra's of the 950 can't be underestimated off course. Coming from a heavy, bulky and way too expensive Iphone a 650 isn't that bad a choice. Then the camera of the 950!! That's something Apple really has to step up to, as they are a bit behind there! Even compared to the Samsung S7 I prefer the lense of the 950 and the larger sensor and higher resolution make it a top notch camera. The S7 focuses a tad faster though, but who knows that might be fixed in updates still due. The first months I had this phone I was a bit worried, as it was worse as my 1520 in so many ways, but I bought it right when it came out, whilst the 1520 was already a year old when I got it. The updates fixed most of the bugs, and at this point it is really on a level leaving little to complain. I've also joined the development program and reported some bugs over time which have all been ironed out nicely. There is really nothing about the phone, OS or hardware to be really negatrive about, it should only have some more developers and siftware engineering support by third parties, and if numbers grow that will be inevitable. Just like with anything else, WE can make this happen, nobody else!

I bought it also and here are my advice, 1.do the updates, the last build is 10586.494 , 2.stop frequent sync of mails and other apps, 3. also disasble the photo upload to cloud, and download also. 4.install all apps in the device, not to sd card(go to settings->storage select the sd card and then move the apps to the device. 5. Go to settings and search background apps, dissable every app you dont want to run in the background. 6.set auto brightness of screen. If you do all of the actions above overheat will almost dissapear and battery life will increase dramatically. For me the most important factor of battery drain is constant sync of mails and onedrive, as an example if you take pictures and upload them automatically to the cloud there is a huge battery drain, as for the emails sync them for example every 2 hours and ofcourse app updates, do the updates at home not on the road.

I cant understand all the flame , but I think it depends on the price, if it costs more than 350=no value for money but if you can get it 250 -300 euros or less is a great deal.. I believe that with the anniversary update it will be even better. + great screen, camera, usb c fast charging 32 gb interal storage+micro sd, customization, beatuful interface, hello feature, removable battery. - minor bugs with some apps(shazam for example you must lock unlock the screen to work and I cant understand why), some overheating but I think it is normal, no google apps at all, apps are different from android, for example linkedin it totally different in a bad way. but youtube app(tube pro) is awesome, you can download videos. As for the battery I think for a 2560-1440 screen and 808 chip is working fine, but I dissabled glance screen, double tap to wake and ncf(you must search in the settings to dissable it). It is not the best battery life you can have but nothing unusual. So if you want a phone for web surfing, photos, with great screen, 3 ram and good chipshet and you dont mind about some apps that are not in windows store and the price you can get it is 300 -330 or less then I think lumia 950 worth it. but if you want something more usual and tested go for android, i hate ios phones because they are very expensive with 1-1.5 year value, then they are crap. I dont know if I made the right choise but for now I have no regrets for buying lumia 950.

Here is my notes regarding Lumia 950. For those people who want to buy this phone my advice is to avoid it. There are plenty reasons not to get stuck with this peace of hardware. Overheating is the biggest problem. Every app overheats the phone if it is used continuously more than 10 minutes. This is so frustrating. There are no good navigation (Here maps are no longer supported), Edge performs very poor, etc. Not worth money and nervous.

I would like to share my experience wiht Lumia 950 after two weeks including some "issues" - maybe you find it helpful. I considered to buy an android phone, but after bad experience I gave a chance to Lumia 950. Windows 10 runs smoothly, display is perfect, however there was mentioned some issues. It gets hot during use It is matter of settings. I disabled all applications (except Messaging and some others) to run in background and it really helps. Phone is getting hot, but after 10 minutes and more of browisng. But notthing you can't bear. Unable to connect wi-fi I experience this, however maybe it is issue with battery saver. When I turned off battery saver, almost immediately I connect to wi-fi. Often restarts Only once - supposed Edge browser has a problem with page display and phone restarted. Lack of applications Yes, this can be frustrating. However, there is always free application you need but you can choose only from one or two available (on Android you have tens of alternatives). Some apps are not available and you have to use web version. Overall opinion - great phone, price is now more fair (you can get it for under 300 E), runs smoothly, no problem with contact transfer from android, and also camera is great.

I had my first hands-on experience with this phone a couple of days ago and I must say it feels sturdy and it feels much better in hand than what I'd thought. Although at the moment it doesn't seem to be a real upgrade compared to my Lumia 930 so I probably won't buy and and just stick with my 930 for a bit longer and wait what else Microsoft will come up with. I am using the 930 just short of two years already and W10 mobile runs great on it. Just the best OS there is, secure, stylish, fast, smooth, I mean buttery smooth. It's the real deal for a smartphone.

I have had this phone for about 6 months now and it has been nothing short of amazing overall. The picture quality of the camera is pretty dang good. If you join the insider program you can do one of 2 update ways 1. slow updates or 2. Fast Track updates I chose the latter and MS has been quite busy getting features out and updated for the phone. the overheat and battery drain issues have been resolved and Cortana is getting better with each release. Based upon my usage I get about 2 days of battery life out of it. I would recommend to anyone.

Also got the continuum dock with it, which seemed like a contraption of cables, but with USB-C backing up the performance it is so smooth, feels so luxurious!! The display, the cam, everything is so high quality!! I don't care about any app gap, I never chose equipment for current performance, rather for potential!!

Very great phone, it's a very nice piece of Hardware: -Excellent AMOLED display with great resolution (best display I ever saw on a smartphone) -Great Performance -Solid Battery Life -Very good Camera with dedicated button -I recommend to buy this great Mozo Cover (http://images.mobilefun.com/graphics/450pixelp/­55717.jpg) Software is a little bit behind, there are some bugs here and there, but Microsoft will surely fix all of them soon. -Start menu is so great, have all app that I use there with smallest Icon, and you can also pin websites and people contact there, so then you can do every task from start menu, which is so awesome :) Those tile making isn't really finished in windows itself, for example when you pin a website, it has no icon. But you can use Custom Tile Maker to do this job :)

I have a Samsung S7 and have used the Iphone 6S for a month or two. Despite the feeling of travelling back in time with the Iphone, I would still prefer it. Android in general has sadly proven itself to be the main point of focus for virus developers, and Google just lifts their shoulders and avoid all responsibility. Even if they would mould the casing in gold I would never get a Samsung, or even a Nexus. For me as professional user the Windows platform offers me the best options, stability and compatibility. Samsung can't even manage to provide identical hardware for same models throughout the world. A reason for pro hardware developers to not use them, or any other android phones fotr that matter. It's not easy to guarantee cutting edge native applications to work perfectly well on all the versions. Apple at least has identical hardware versions all over the world. For me the choice for MS over Apple is also the price, you don't get a lot of high tech for your the money with Apple. It's like the perfectly cut and shaved lawn in a nicely groomed garden. With WP10 however you can just jump over the fence and enjoy a lot more gardens, and that did it for me. I looove the Edge browser too!

After the latest updates the phone finally takes shape in the way I was used to with the 1020 end 1520 I had. No heating issues any more during charging, MUCH increased battery life (think it is time to update the endurance rating in the specs!) Recently got the Continuum dock, WHAT a loxurious way to use a phone. Also the Edge browser closes much of the app gap, who needs space consuming apps if you've got a browser that can handle things for you?? I am finally starting to love it! Lumia 950 is a good phone and Windows 10 OS is indeed nice to use but the design of this phone is kinda let down for some. The looks of this device can be best described as utilitarian which is quite a bummer at this price range for few people. (I agree that one can improve it by going for Mozo Leather cover but it doesn't make a hell lotta difference) This phone is nevertheless good, but the problem is most people expected it to be beautiful like its predecessor Lumia 930 but it turned out to be bit too formal and bland looking. For professional users it's great, it is a near perfect productivity tool in the hands of professional users and looks perfect in corporate atmosphere (Especially if you own a equally professional looking T-series or new P-series ThinkPad with it). The removable battery is a absolute boon for business users and road warriors but for normal mainstream consumer it is kinda looks too boring. I hope next time Microsoft pays little attention to the looks of their phones too because Lumia range has a legacy of good looking devices (930, 830, 925, 730, 1020), it would be better for Microsoft to ensure that the legacy isn't compromised.

Hey guys, I am a relatively new Lumia 950 user. I upgraded my Lumia 925 to Windows 10 preview and that was really horrible - all apps were really laggy, but my Lumia 925 died shortly afterwards as I tried to change battery so I was really worried about getting 950, especially considering that S6 is the same price range. Anyway, long story short, decided to get the 950 simply because all of my data would sync from old phone and because I really like the Mozo covers for this phone. So far all my concerns have disappeared and I really enjoy this phone. First day battery lasted barely a day, because it was downloading my backup with all settings and applications and update throughout the night. After that - perfect, with medium use, I only charge it in the morning while I am in shower as it charged about 50% in 30 minutes with the new 3C charger. So it runs smooth, screen is bigger and looks better than 925, charges faster, battery lasts longer and camera + tri color flash is an improvement. And now it makes small movies when taking pictures like IPhone 6. Another good thing about the camera is location of the lense - it's in the middle where you don't put fingers, so that's good. All in all seems like a solid device and only thing I stopped using is the iris scanner. It works well if you sit at a desk, but when you are walking etc it's just not so easily usable. A couple more things they have lost in W10m - tapping anywhere on screen to take a picture and double tap to wake up phone. Two major steps back imo. Also I still haven't changed back cover to Mozo - stock one does look a bit simple, but feels good apart from the fact that edges seem a little sharp to the touch. The final verdict - there are still things they need to work on, just like for the past 6 or so years, but overall device feels solid and runs well.

Lumina 950: Good--screen, OS tiles, maps, browser (more capable than ios), one note Bad--Battery Life (won't quite make it through the day if you surf or read e-mail); check if apps are available for what you need before buying; Outlook mail sync is very very slow and to conserve battery life are every 2 hours or more unless you override and it's still a 3 minute + process instead of sub 30 seconds like all others; will not download gmail account pictures in outlook mail when received-only workaround is to forward received e-mail to another account such as hotmail which of course works taking 3+ minutes to sync per above (no love lost between MS and either Apple or Google); periodic bugs like won't respond to wake up button--that's normal for all MS products and usually get's fixed with updates Some day MS will make the best phone, just not today.

But where i live there is winter for long and i cant even call, its not good. And its kind of small and camera is not that good anymore. So you cant tell ppl to just change :). ppl use windows phone for a reason , and you use iphone. I had iphone 6s plus 16gb for a few month, great phone. But poor memory and battery is avg. To start off...I'm a longtime fan of Microsoft. I've been hooked on their phones and using a pc with windows. My computer and phone transferred my info which made work, apps and my music, all function together without having to convert files. LOVED IT. Constantly tried to get my friends to drop their phones and switch. Xbox music was great at taking my music off of my computer and making an amazing experience on my Nokia 820 and Windows 8.1. I actually had to fight and struggle with my carrier to get the Lumia 950. And now I am regretting windows 10 and this phone that my friends have named "Glitchy". The idea between integration of computer and phone are perfect for my business! I hope that they fix things before I jump ship. Here are the downfalls of my phone after about 1 month of use. 1. Everyone asks me to call them back from a land line because it echos back to them and they say it sounds "tinny". So I have a $600 phone that people ask me not to use when I speak with them. 2. Battery is larger, but I have to charge more often than the 820. 3. This phone gets HOT. It won't burn you, but it concerns me. 4. If I haven't received any emails or texts, I have to remind myself to check the service bars. The phone will randomly quit receiving and you need to shut off and start up again. I've missed work emails because of this. Not do to changing areas or out of service. It just quits working and it is up to you to notice that your phone is a dead brick. I have service in my office, but it still magically shuts down?? 5. Internet searches. Pull something up and start scrolling down. Find something and click. When you back out to search again, it starts you over at the beginning. You will have to scroll down and try to find your spot. It also does this in random files. Photos, downloaded files, xcell, word docs. A nightmare if you are using for work! 6. Xbox music has changed to groove music. I'm a music fanatic and this was a major selling point to my friends, in regards to switching to windows phone. Groove is NOT good. Lost all of my playlists with thousands of songs that I had sorted. Won't play songs from my computer library, but says that I can if I buy a pass. I NEED A PASS TO PLAY MY OWN MUSIC??? 7. Iris scan is cool to tell people about. But I look stupid trying to move my phone back and forth to get a scan while everyone else is already in their phones. Cool idea on paper. 8. Pictures are super clear and great video, BUT.... Picture lag between being able to take another photo is slow. Used to be able to touch anywhere on screen and now have to hit button. Touch screen will sometimes not respond. Have to keep tapping on the screen or turn off and on again. 10. Doesn't support Adobe Flash. This isn't a problem, if you don't want to watch videos from those sources. Ticks me off though. 11. Get used to wanting an app, going to download and not seeing Windows as an option. 12. The speaker is Amazing with great sound. Only downfall is that it is on the back of unit. Get a case with a stand so that you can see the display and not have muffled sound when laying on it's back. I really wanted to like this phone. Waited a long time to get it and even had to jump through all kinds of hoops to obtain it. Now I can't wait to get rid of it. Only 1 year and 11 months left with this piece of S*%#! Didn't anyone with Microsoft pick this up and try it out for a week? Add in all of the troubles with Windows 10 and you have a recipe for hours upon hours of trouble shooting with the support team. I'm in 4 hours so far. I should have bought something else.....anything else!

OK, Porting Apps into Wd smartphone from Apple store/Android store is a great idea. It's very encouraging for lumia users, but why it took so long to solved those problems, even after announcement of those project a Year earlier. The biggest problem with Windows Phone is lack of apps. There are some alternative apps but still it is not good. So far I had Lumia 925 and now I have Lumia 830. Can´t agree more. It was my choice to move to W10 on Lumia 950. I use it mainly for work and on more than 80% of the calls it looses the connection with the car audio, the phone freezes and come to live some minutes later. This is dangerous cause you tend to move your eyes from the road to see what happens. I knew that on applications Windows Phone are far behind compared with Iphone or Andriod but even the most used like Shazan have bugs. Never expect this from Microsoft. Recently I upgraded from L930 WP8.1 to L950 WP10. System software needs a lot work to be done. Shame that WP10 does not support "Here drive+", "Lumia story teller", and few other app's which was by my humble opinion very good. Microsoft maps works, but not like "Here" before. There is no option to download other language. I'm not native eng. speaker, and I would like to have an option that my phone is on eng. and nav app on other language like it was on "Here drive+" . Speed test show that my download speed is only ~5Mbps even do I'm connected on to N WIFI, and ISP provide 50Mbps. My old phone was working on ~20Mbps. Maybe it is app problem, but I don't know. "People app" have an option to create something called "GroupMe", but I don't want to. So I would like to have an option to remove that. If you go in to "People" you will always end up in to contacts, even if you live from one of your group. Pictures from people are smaller than before, why? "Word" can't open an *.txt!!! Ridiculous! "Weather" crashes from time to time. Someone here suggested that one a week remove battery to experience " beater performance"!? If I wanted that I would buy an Android phone. I know, similar was with my L930 from beginning. I was even thinking to return the phone. Just writing this, and hope someone will reed it. Greetings to all!

Used 640xl for three days, returned. It was copy of lumia 638 with bigger screen and better camera. Don't talk about hardware specifications,everyone know that. The OS is problem here. System works fine, in one week time I had 2 situations when app crashed Major problem for me is battery Average time between charge was 8 hours with the best results 15h 52 minutes (phone disconnected before night, so - 7 hours sleeping time) Two days ago I started use phone in battery saver mode Here is any solution I achieved 20 hours 41 minutes on Sunday and 18h 11m today So or reduce brightness to 25% and stop most apps in background or start use battery saver every day

This phone is terrible. I was a huge Nokia Lumia fan, and upgraded to this. Worse mistake of my life. I can't send texts to more than one person without starting a group, I can no longer text pictures. The alarm that used to start with a low chime now blares at first chime. The message notification doesn't update to show that the email or text has been read for a while. It seems to queue my email messages rather than send them to me automatically (from hotmail no less). The on button with the case is hard to push. I wish I could go back to my old Nokia.

After ~2 months usage, its hard to decide whether I rather like it or hate it. Apps like Shazam either work instantly and recognise a song for a second, or don't do it at all. Edge is pain in the ***, since it constantly restarts when I use certain websites. Some functions like quiet hours are way harder to use compared to Android. Cortana is also harder to use compared to Google Talk. Other than that, I like the OS more than Android. News, weather, Office apps work better and are more sophisticated than in Android. Hardware is top notch in my opinion, yet you can find an even better one for a more modest price tag. So far I didn't experience any lag, although there are some random false notifications (Example: got a notification for lack of space, although most of it is empty) Really hope further updates would fix the performance, and would smooth windows experience

Battery life after a week of use is on avg. 5 hours. I have tried switching of every thing including data connection. When I look at the battery use the display takes up 70%. I did change the brightness to 25% but this does not help. Can someone please assist?

Such a shame that there is no FM transmitter. I use it alot on my 808. But I will get an bluetooth receiver for my car. You should update your device from settings and phone update! Then after the update is completed, update core apps from Store; since, CORE apps are updating, it can get random reboots or crashes! Because the app which you are using RIGHT NOW may be the app trying to get updated in background! Windows 10 is completely different OS; even C++ and Store update is sent via Store! Adding features to Win 10 don't need full OS update, like iOS! Bugs can be fixed even via Store updates! So, update first, and then the phone will work like charm.

1. Nokia Apps for Lumia phones were more cutting edge than Microsoft's replacements. 2. Nokia is a better Software Engineering Company than Microsoft. They somehow develop efficient software and there is proof in the Lumia Camera, and other Nokia Apps such as Nokia Maps, Nokia Driva, etc. which were available for Windows 8.0/8.1 3. Windows 10 Phone is more well laid out but it is more resource hogging than Windows 8.0/8.1. Windows 10 eats more battery more quickly than Windows 8.0/8.1 4. The camera apps are not as efficient as Nokia Apps. 5. First of all the Apps were very few in number on Windows Store. But atleast they used to download and install very quickly on Windows 8.0/8.1. On Windows 10 the apps take for ever to download and to update they even take longer than they take to download. I don't understand Microsoft, Why change what is working well and then degrade the quality even further by introducing something new that does not work as efficiently as the previous versions. They old lumias 4 years older are more slick, and quick than the new Lumia 950. 6. The exterior design of lumia is also a shame. Why make a 5'2" inches screen. Look at iphone 6/6s 4.7" screen looks so amazing and the construction and build is top notch. 7. Microsoft is a big company which has a diverse pool of software engineers, but still they can't bundle an attractive Flagship smartphone. It is a shame. sunil, that is GEOFENCING, a geofence is a boundary around a place of interest, and apps can use your location to see if you're crossing in and out of one.to stop apps from using your location for geofencing, turn off location for those apps. one or more of your apps are currently using geofencing. ( think and do change settings don't make misunderstand).

Very true but they need to hire another 5000 mobile people, fix this mess. Win 8.1 denim you can get to things easier, 10 has to many sub menue. Hurts my brain navigating, its a bit to bouncy for me, but maybe buggy. Keyboard i prefer 8.1, need to fix things there it's very hard to see things, and Emoji needs updating like IOS. I don't like that call button down near text where you type should be moved. 10 is nicer but lots of work, as for Apps yes they are nice unique but Facebook being the no 1 app, its a hot mess that needs Fixed ASAP not in 6 months. I use it daily and least expect it to work with same features as IOS and Android.

Microsoft produce good products, average products, and bad products - just like every other company. For example... Windows 7 I really liked Windows 8.1, in my honest opinion, was absolutely rubbish. Windows 10 I really like Windows Phone 7 was trash, windows phone 8 was ok, Windows phone 10 looks much better. On the other hand, Windows tablets are (IMHO) by far the best on the market. Simply because every tablet with Android or IOS is always going to have very limited functionality - just an oversized phone minus the phone functionality, more or less. Proper Windows 10 tablets however give you all the functionality of a fully fledged desktop PC - that includes the ability to run proper Windows applications, view full desktop versions of websites, full flash support, join domains and HomeGroups, easily install printers, etc. That's a level of functionality that no Android or IOS tablet can offer. With Continuum, Microsoft phones are taking one big step towards having that same type of advantage. A business could potentially save thousands and thousands of dollars by supplying staff with just a phone and dock that can go in their briefcase/handbag...they could move seamlessly from home to work, and from one office to the next, and just connect their phone (with dock) to whatever spare desk is available. Much cheaper (for the company) and more practical (for the user) than having to carry a largish laptop, 4G card, laptop bag, etc.

I'm an Android user (have been for years) and have never considered IOS - I have used multiple IOS devices, and IMHO they are absolute rubbish. However, Windows phones since around 8.1 have actually intrigued me, so I have (for some time) considered getting one just to experiment with. I've upgraded my desktop, laptop and tablet all to Windows 10 and I am incredibly impressed with how adaptable the OS is. I hated Windows 8 and 8.1, but since upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 I haven't looked back. Only reason I'm saying all this is to establish that I am not an anti-MS person, or a "won't touch anything but Android" person. Now, with that said, I think a lot of items on your list here are incredibly optimistic. Some such points... 1. Best possible camera Years ago, Nokia really broke ground by being the first manufacturer to release a phone with a camera that could legitimately compete with a dedicated point-and-shoot. Every since that day, every Nokia fanboy has somehow got the impression that EVERY Nokia camera is now superior. Right now, there are a number of Android devices with seriously impressive cameras (S6, G4, Z5) and as much as I hate to admit it, even the iPhone 6S camera is pretty impressive. Nokia cameras are no longer so superior...in fact they might not be superior at all. 2. All apps are available (useful apps, not garbage) Firstly, this is just a straight up lie. I've gone to the app store on my Windows 10 Tablet, and the selection of apps really is woeful. I'm not the kind of person who wastes my time on games and the like - I have a bunch of apps on my android phone which are extremely practically useful, and very few of those apps are available from the Windows store. Those that are, often do not work properly. For example, Trello is a fantastic app that I use for organising just about everything - and on Microsoft Edge browser it runs jerky. Another example is Viber - works perfectly on every android device I've used, but on my Windows tablet it works poorly. There is no button to directly take a photo and insert it - you need to take a picture manually with the camera app, then open viber, then browse to the file, then attach it. Likewise when I run the tablet in tablet mode and tap in the text box to type a viber message, it doesn't recognise it's a text box and automatically bring up the on-screen keyboard...instead I have to manually press the keyboard button, and then the keyboard appears over the top of the text box so I can't see what I'm typing. One Drive is not really an advantage - it's not any different to using something like Dropbox. Hardly an advantage. Office apps - also not an advantage, since you can get these on Android now. Smooth OS a PARTIAL point. That's because my current android phone (LG G4) runs 100% smooth with no slowdowns or lag ever, so Windows being smooth isn't really an advantage for me. For those with older android phones (from 3 years ago or before) it is a fair point, since Android devices were sluggish then...but most modern flagship devices are super smooth now. Unique OS design - again that isn't an advantage, that's just a distinction. Offline navigation with voice guidance - Android phones have supported this for years. Edge / IE being the best web experience...that is very debatable. Quick settings in action center - Andoid has a ton of these too. Quit hours - Android has the same type of thing (called priority mode) Wallet for online payment - Android has this too Skype can be downloaded for free on Android. Really there are maybe only a handful of things you listed that are legit advantages, such as: - Cortana - Lens - Photosynth - Continuum - Creative Studio I think that's really about all.

Hey Rob, Try giving your phone a hard reset and then DON'T restore your back-up. It helped me a little bit. I've also contacted Microsoft directly and they told me to reinstall the software by downloading the software recovery tool on your computer and using it on your phone. I haven't tried it yet because my phone's battery is doing quite fine now (still not great though), but you might want to give it a try :)

So far I'm not that satisfied with my Lumia 950. It's battery drains like crazy and it gets really hot during charging. I've hard resetted my phone without restoring back up and now it works a bit better, but still a lot of little bugs. Waiting for updates from Microsoft for improvement but everything together I have to say I love the phone anyways!

I am going to tell you a true opinion regarding Windows phone. And I know that only android user can understand my pain. So I am starting with app. There are shortage of apps in Windows store. You can't find useful app as in Play store (Android store). Always email update is required. WhatsApp is not like real WhatsApp as in android. Its appearance is so odd. Android user can see the differences of WhatsApp. If you want to do new in this phone it means you have to learn a lot and practice much. This phone is not user friendly as like android phones. You can't keep backup of apps as in android it's very common feature. Hindi input keyboard is complicated. Appearance of many apps is not good such as emails if you add more than two gmails you can't identify the address of email. You have to remember like email 1, email 2,email 3. Battery backup is same as android phone. Some users say that battery backup is good but it's not true. There are a lot of cons of this phone. I really suggest you don't buy windows phone ever. Only some features like offline map, compass is good. Its lock screen, tiles and call screen are good. Camera is quite good. If anybody is saying that Windows phone is good, it means he or she doesn't use Android phone. That's why he or she doesn't know the real drawbacks of Windows phone. My best wishes is with you. Think it properly and then buy smartphone.

i have a Nokia Lumia 1520 and i cannot pair it to other smart watches like sony smart watch, is this Lumia 950 can be paired to any smart watches?

In regards to battery life.....I have had the 950 for approx. 8 days. The first four days of phone calls texting, some internet use.......charge made it through with only 2/3's charge use...But last 3 days, the charge lasted only 4 hours with little or NO use......last night, on a full charge(disconnected from charger) with NO use what so ever, phone was dead by morning(7 hours) sleeping......Charged up again that same morning.....Ideas!!!???

Well, I think you need to examine your needs and wants. As I said in my review, if you are happy with your current platform then you might prefer to stay on that platform. However, if like me, you are unhappy with your current platform, then this phone is worth considering. I am happy with my choice to switch. This is further validated by the more I use the phone and the more I uncover the integration points. I had yet another experience today that showed the tie in between phone and PC. I posted it in reply to my original post but needless to say, this phone feels very much like a continuation, extension of my PC which is pretty powerful.

I'm not quite sure yet. I just noticed that notifications on my PC were in sync with the notifications on my phone. Both were in the action center (notification window) on each device. As for reminders, those were showing up on each device's Cortana menu. Appts likewise are showing up on my Outlook calendar (since I am using Office/Outlook).

I thought I would share another interesting experience I had today. While sitting at my PC on a Skype call, my phone rang. I hit ignore so I could finish my business call. At that time, a dialog box popped up on my PC screen asking if I wanted to send a text reply to the caller. I hit yes and it gave me the option to type a message or use the default "I'll call you back soon" message. I selected the default message and it sent it back through my phone to the caller. Just another example of how the phone and PC experience are working together to be more productive. I had no idea it could do that, nor am I quite sure how it knew to pop that open on my PC. However, it was damn cool none the less. Nicely done Microsoft.

Well said Brotha, those ppl bitchin about win 10 bugs, apps this that need to learn patience. IOS has bugs android has bugs, android updates so fast i havn't time to change my undies! I don't want my phone updating 20 x a day. Submit feedback to Msoft let them fix it give them time, as it will be one of th best 0/s out. I am a WP lover and I would say that Windows offers a very fresh interface, unlike its iPhone and android contemporaries - they have almost similar layouts- those sissy looking icons in flowery backgrounds, so different from the hi-tech looking Lumia WP 10 layout. Second, WP offers an amazing internet and office experience unparalleled by other platforms. MS has pioneered office and its phones run it the best way. I easily do my office related tasks on my phone with a seamless experience. The future belongs to the cloud and WP is well prepared for it. The app-gap story of for people who sit around and have a lot of time to do nothing "useful" because WP offers all apps that are useful(some exceptions). In fact WP app store doesn't yet suffer from overcrowding by a large number of fake apps. With solid hardware and configuration to support W10, the 950 and possibly a surface phone in the future will be some of the best phones available to people who are tech-savvy.

Windows Hello is working superbly so far. Hits every time. I can even unlock in the dark + wearing sunglasses. Retina scanning has a useful future ahead. Continuum is ok via miracast. Not the fastest, but acceptable if you had no other devices to use. It has a lot of potential too. There's no denying the plastic cover makes this phone look budget, but I have 2 mozo cases on the way too which will make it look like the most premium device instead!

Thanks, becool79. 3rd party apps won't work on the European 950 devices at this moment. It might be different situation in some other continent. A downloaded FM-radio app only says device is not supported. It seems that the tuner is not even enabled by firmware.

I picked up the Lumia 950 on launch day (Nov. 20th). This is my first ever windows phone so I am not a Microsoft fan boy or loyalist. What almost every review states is that there is nothing that would lure someone away from iPhone or Android...well, in my case, they were wrong. You see, some people out there are actually NOT HAPPY with iPhone or Android. I was one of those people. I had used iPhone for years, hated iTunes so switched to Android. Used Android for years, hated it so decided to give windows a try. Now, 1 month in and I feel like I have at least some experience with the phone to feel confident enough to talk intelligently about the good/bad of this phone. So, here is my impression. Most reviewers are talking about how this phone does not hold up to competitive platforms. I would have to say that that spending 2 days with a phone or even a week as a test vehicle is not enough to really understand where this phone shines. Furthermore, if you are not running Windows 10 on your PC and your Phone, then you are missing a powerful experience and quite frankly missed Microsoft's vision and message around Windows 10 as a holistic approach across devices. This phone is an extension of your PC experience, not separate from it. Look at it this way, if you are using an Android phone and a Windows PC, you are managing 2 different experiences. Sure you may have your exchange account on your phone and your email/calendars sync, but you are still managing 2 different experiences across 2 devices. Win 10 on the 950 looks and feels like an extension of my PC experience...this is HUGE and a key component of Microsoft's vision. Notifications, Cortana, contacts, menus and more are seamless extensions of the PC experience. Set a task, reminder, appt. in Cortana on your phone, it sets it on your PC and vice versa. The settings menu on the phone is remarkably similar to the settings menu on your PC. Notifications carry across from one device to the other. You see, you, your profile, your experience is the center, not your device. This is vastly different and really important to understand. You can't get that experience by testing the phone over a weekend...you need to use it as a daily driver for an extended period of time to appreciate just how fluid the experience really is and why it matters. How reviewers are missing this really important piece is beyond me... So, let's talk app gap. I get that for some people this is really important. If you work/life is dependent upon a specific app, and that app is not on Windows, then maybe the phone is not for you. For me, this was almost a non issue. I looked at my Android phone and the apps I had on there and the apps I used frequently. Every app I used with the exception of 3, yes 3, were available on Windows phone. Now the 3 that were missing were a little painful but I found workarounds for them so in the end, it was not a showstopper for me. As for stuff like snapchat, frankly I really don't care as social media apps are not on my needs list. As for reviewers that complain about premium look/feel. This is another one I don't understand. As someone else pointed out, most people I know all slap cases on their phones so does it really matter what a phone looks like if it is just getting covered up anyway? It's a phone, not a piece of art you hang on a wall. In terms of features, this phone is on par with every other high end phone out there. Similar cores, similar ram, similar screen specs, similar size, similar performance, battery life, etc. So you really can't say this is not a premium spec phone with any credibility at all. Factor in features like expanded memory slot, wifi sense, storage sense, ability to attach files to emails, native office applications, continuum, miracast that actually works, killer camera (best I have ever seen), beautiful screen, usb type c, and as referenced, seamless phone/pc experience and you have a really, really good phone. As for the bad stuff or stuff that needs improvement? Yes, there is some of that as well. I have seen some minor bugs. Nothing that I have not experienced on other platforms but they are there none the less. Are they annoying? Yes but that is true regardless of platforms. However, there are some things I think they need to address. For example, one nice thing I like about android is that I could organize my contacts for quick dialing. I could create groups, favorites, etc. I could see about 12 contacts on the screen at one time in my favorites list...with windows, I see only have that many by line entry. Is that a showstopper? No, but annoying. Microsoft could stand to use the screen real estate a little better that way. Stuff like showing my phone number will calling folks should be in the phone setting (as it is) but should also be in the Privacy screen (as it is not). Fingerprint scanner is probably something they should add as an option to the iris scanner. By the way, the iris scanner works pretty good for me under all lighting conditions. Now, I did turn it off because it did feel like it chewed through the battery a little faster, but that could be due to me playing with it a lot when I first got the phone. I have mixed feelings on the camera button as I have accidentally launched the camera without wanting to but just picking up the phone. I think I would recommend putting the phone screen button on top instead of between the camera button and volume buttons. I feel like I am always hitting a button just trying to pick up the phone. Again, showstopper? Nope, but minor annoyance. So, am I happy with this phone? Yes, so far I am quite impressed. Therefore, my final words are if you are happy with your current platform, then stick with it...why would you be looking anyway. However, if you are not happy with your current platform, then this phone should be a serious contender....especially if you are a windows 10 user on your PC.

I've been living with android for a verry long time. Decidet to go for something new. so got this. well my previous phone was OnePlus one and now this. to be honest, I was surprised how easy it is to transfer all Contacts, pictures, music, calendar events etc from google account/phone to lumia 950. 3 min work. camera quality is amazing, seriously ive never seen any camera as good as this one. screen quality is at highest. windows hello works in darkness as good as in daylight.fast charging is working werry well, but always when phone is plugged in it heats up quite a lot.there are some down sides as well. for example if you connect your lumia to screen (quantinnum) and browse internet, afterwards to use internet you cannot type in browser ( software glich I had) as im using phone for about a week, i like to play with it, and now my battery with quite heavy usage drains in about 14-17h ( don't really know is it good or bad, lets say average) so do i regeret going from android to windows phone? well, no. im not saying it is better or worse, all phones have some glitches, some downsides, ITS JUST DIFFERENT

I got a Lumia 950 after LG G2. It's a really betaphone, don't buy if you dont't like challages. Battery life is a half day for me and I'm not a heavy user. I can use my G2 for 2 days. Lags, crashes, freezes, and a crappy camera software. You can shot rapidly 7 (SEVEN!) shots and you can hang on Saving screen for about 20 seconds, after that you can shot around every 10 sec. Cheap quality my screen got a factory scratch at the top. So it will be a recommended buy with windows 10.1 and under $300.

WoW! Nice specs phone. And so pretty!!! I might be buying it for Christmas 2018 when the price gets low enough. I'm willing to pay 200€ tops for 950 and 250€ for 950XL(unless my fortunes dramatically changes of course) In the meantime I have to settle with my soon to be 2 years old Lumia 520(okay model is what 3 years old,but I have it soon to be 2 years). It was great phone in the beginning,but now I'm sick of it,though it still good enough for most things especealy after recent upgrade of storidge capacity. I really like Metro user interface. If 950 is still available in 3 years time at as stated before at no more than 250€,there is good chance,I'll pick it up. In meantime I must upgrade to something better than Lumia 520,and no Lumia 550 is not an option because it already belongs in 2013. I may have to jump to Android in the meantime,which freaks me out because I have seen Sony and Samsung and I'd rather shoot myself. LG seems passable,but I don't know. How pretty or ugly phone is,it's at the bottom of my worries.

The 3 G talk time mentioned in the review section is incorrect, its correct talk mentioned in the specifications section is 18 hrs . Windows Phones are the best OS phones as its far far better than android and apple in terms of battery life and it doesnt hang or lag like android does . Forget the new Lumias 950 and 950 XL. Prices are astronomical. I've just got brand new Lumia 930 Black Gold for 420 EUR including all taxes, customs duties, etc. And Lumia 930 standard Black for 220 EUR, also BNIB. 600 EUR price for Lumia 950 is not justified. A couple of more cores, liquid cooling, blah blah blah,.. is it worth another 300 or so EUR? Nope. Your 1520 will get Windows 10 next month apparently. Microsoft even updates phones as the Lumia 920 from 2012 to Windows 10, so even 3 year old phones still got updated. If you're in the right zone you can expect an upgrade to Windows 10 in January.

Mi4c has only 5" 1080p LCD display.. 950 has 5.2" oled 1440p display Mi4c has no sd card slot only 16/32gb internal..950 has 32 Gb internal and a sd card which support upto 2tb(wen its available) On camera.. 13mp vs 20mp Zeiss optics cam 950s 20mp Zeiss optics can beat even the 23mp g lens of xperia z5..and 950 has pure view technology ,optical images stabilization,4k recording,triple led flash.. Frnt camera is 5mp for both but 950 has an iris scanner for windows hello.. 3000mah for 950 is better bcos the windows 10 won't consume battery like mi4c which has 3080mah In short u can never compare mi4c with 950.. Go n learn about windows phones then comment..

lumia 930 had a problem with its Microphone, when on speaker phone people didn't hear you anymore, mine was under garanty when I had this problem, after it went 3 times to be repaired without a result, I claimed to change the phone, they finally did change it for a brand new one, one month later the same problem appeared, did anybody try lumia 950 already? , is it sure it will not have the same problem?

I use Windows mobile. And Android. I had to buy lumia after my contract phone broke. Admittedly it is not the 950. Agreed Windows need the apps to make it fun to use. However I find beauty in simplicity and functionalism therefore I connect with the mobile Microsoft platform. If you don't have time for playing games and you're a businessman like me, want to download and attach files from and to email, and need a stable GPS on your phone to get you to your meetings, then you will appreciate the Windows experience on mobile. However i recommend trying it on a midrange phone like i did and decide if it's rocking or not. I think it rocks.

For those that dont care about how much money they spend on their phone A.K.A. the rich i do belive this phone is worth giving a try. i used lumia 1520 and thought of it as one of the best buisness phones ever.

Like any other chinese ugly phone, plus this ugly keys on screen... And : Windows. Good OS for simple enthusiasts, not demanding, very well optimized, but not for advanced users (many features form Android are missing). Overall: nothing specially, just maybe better camera. Not worth a lot of money. We are tossing the planet with plastic garbage.

Yes you are right. Windows really dont need that much as android but its only means what i said. Its definitely not worth to buy because its really really expensive. As microsoft said Win 10 will be free for everyone good idea. But phone for over 500 eur with just with average stats. They can keep this phone. Because its not worth to buy.
