i have motorola A668...and it is very nice but from the last few months my mobile LCD is not working and its battery also....please can you suggest me what to do further...from where i can get repair my mobile...and this is why i want to buy this set again..!!!

Well this phone is just fine for a person who merely wants to communicate well. It is durable also what I like about it and fits into my palm nicely =). The only thing is never to drop it, if you drop it the function will derteriorite, experience from a friend.

I cannot charge my phone anymore when I plugged in the charger. No charging status at all. I even tried charging using the USB cable with the same result. Although, the battery can still be charged using a desktop charger. Has anyone encountered this problem?

IMPORTANT: This phone is designed to FAIL. It is normal that the LCD Screen will fail almost immediately after 1 year. Coz, due to the flex-cable between the main board and the LCD. The flex-cable is too stiff and will split after continuous use.

Its a well design phone, standard feature c/w simple to use software thah enable transfer ofpicture & phone number through the USB port..but to me it best feature is able to write chinese message directly instead of "pinyin" . A great tools for practising chinese writing.

I got this phone on the first month it came out. I spent 12900 NT which is about 400 bucks. Great Phone nothing to say... The only bad thing about this phone is the design. I dont like the case very much, but the interior is great. I would give this phone a 8.7/10 A668~~~

the finger writing option was aimed for people who write chinese. it is obviously easier to use straightfoward text for english.

I find this phones messaging really tedious. It doesnt pick up when I hit keys so if I go to write 'hello'...it may only pick up 'hlo' for example. It is quite frustrating and wondering if its my particular phone or the brand. I find it much slower than nokia's I have had in the past.

The finger writing thing is just a gimmick - due to the small size you'll find yourself making mistakes and having to constantly correct it. The overall design is really nice and the picture editing functions are fun. But it lacks mp3 rintones, the sms T9 is terrible, the screen resolution and quality is horrible and synching the stuff is incredibly plainful!!! The bottom line - you'll get bored of the finger writing function within 10 minutes - trust me those who write in english wont even use it! It takes almost 10 mins just to write on sentence using that function!!!!

For all those people wondering if finger writing is posible in english here is the answer... it is. This is how you change it from chinase to inglis and from englis to chinase- you get to write a message. whenever you write a letter it shows a chinase or a a number. to change to english make line with your finger from left to right and then without lifting your finger from right to left and now you have english letters. Writing is not as fast as typing but it is fun. I hope this is going to help...

I think Motorola A668 is 1 of the coolest handphone. My first handphone up till now, all are from Motorola but this 1 is the newest, latest and the best handphone that i got. There are 2 types of colour for Motorola A668. I got the black one. I don't like people saying Motorola is a piece of junk cause i know they are consistently improving with their products. The camera is good and when i went to the handphone shop, I was quite surprise that all the handphone looks so-so. I give Motorola 2 thumbs up.

Every1 is getting wound up about not able to print pictures. There is a USB port. The cable is supplied and software. Upload your pictures onto your computer and print! Simple as that. The cam is good for a phone.

I love this phone except for a couple things I can't figure out. Like terry, I also get 2 text messages when I get a voicemail. Kind of annoying. Anyone know how to turn that off? Also, I can't seem to get the phone to lookup the name of people in my phonebook when I get an incoming call. The outer screen only shows the phone number, not the name. Hi, I wants to use 2 approx. similar Motorola phones in Singapore which I am a long user of Motorola phones. But its difficult to find 2 quite similar phones especially the batteries and chargers. I am currently using 2 V290. I wants to buy a V220 but different charger. But if it got same battery not so bad, but batteries also different. Hope Motorola Singapore can standardise most of the phones it carries here. Thank you.

to diego, if you are considering, a668 and v878, i have used both. from experience, v878 is a more practical phone, thinner, lighter, and generally pretty basic and a lot cheaper. a668 is a show off phone, the touch pad handwriting is impractical unless you want to write chinese which i rarely do and the 1.3 megapixel is just another for show thing...i have a 4mp dcam, why do i need a lousy 1.3 mp phone camera. then again, i got both phones for under 50 bucks so i can't complain.

This phone seems- eh, okay. I have t-mobile and I can't get my t-zones to work. Does anyone know where APN name goes on this phone? Also, I haven't found a way to silence the phone without opening it which is very annoying to me. I think I'll probably sell the phone. It just isn't right for me.

HELP FOR THOSE WITH SOFTWARE PROBLEMS The reason why everyone is having problems with the software detecting the phone is because the cd that comes with the phone isn't the correct version. You need to update it to version 3.19e1 using the Live Update function located in the setup tab in the menu. Only the 3.19e1 version will detect the Motorola A668. And you can't get it on cd, you can only get it by updating live through the internet... Mobile Phone Tools makes life so much easier with this phone. Especially managing the phone book and transfering your pics to and from the phone to your PC. This is very important since the phone only has a 8MB memory capacity. You can also use it to transfer and compose midi sound files to use as your rings tones....

as of mid feb, the price for this phone in hk is HK$2780. which translates to around AUD$465, i'm not sure of the price in US.....but shouldn't be less than that. if u got it for US$200, sounds like either your prices are really good, or u got jibbed big time.

Actually, I bought my phone in USA, but it's supposed to be direct from HK. I paid like $200 for this phone, if it really is a beta version I am going to try to return it. :( Just hope these various versions I got for the Mobile Phone Tools work.

i have both the silver and black versions of this phone, and it is quite an amazing phones. for all those out there having problems with software or connectivity issues with this phone, i can only tell you that there is a difference between the original phones and phones purchased overseas, especially in china. the cheaper versions of this phone are the beta testing versions hence the cheaper price tags, these software versions are only beta and not the final realease. if you bought the phone for full price from a creditable retailer, you will find no problems at all with the usb connectivity. i bought mine in hong kong from Fortress and Boradway and have had no problems using the usb on usb 1.1 as well as usb 2.0. you pay peanuts you get monkeys, don't be cheap and buy the proper versions!

I just got the A668 for about a month now, and I have received lots of complements on the look of the phone. The Writing software is awesome, one of the main reasons I got it. But I can't figure out how to get my Moble Phone tools to work. I installed the CD it came with, but it doesn't regonize it, and everytime I plug in the USB it just charges my phone. :( Please help!! I would love to download my pictures onto my computer!!

Hey freddy, is there a function to actually set up what colour light you choose to flash? I am also stuck on the fact when i get new ringtones using USB i can not set lights for it :( Unless there is a way i would love to know :D The other "annoying" point of the phone is when you connect the mobile up to the computer and try to delete ringtones,images and other stuff you can add onto your phone. The titles are not there anymore but next time you connect it up again its back (slow response -.-) and it hasnt fully been deleted off the phone neither.

Hi Thanks for the feedback. I finally got mobile phone tools to work. I must say I the joint and creaking sound made by the clam shell kinda annoyed me... I contacted the guys at Motorola and they told me that the phone was specifically engineered this way to prevent it from cracking... Its not loose... they just gave it a little extra room for the swivle. I'm starting to really like this phone. The silver finish is so awesome, and puts most phone out there to shame in terms of appearance. The major downfall however would be the lack of memory (8MB). Perhaps they should have left out some of the useless functions such as picture drawing to free up more memory for the phone. What I find most enjoyable is the embedded colorful lights on the outside of the phone. When your phone rings, its flashes like disco lights (you can also change the color of these lights)... very groovy indeed! The touchpad SMS writing takes longer than key punching (talking from an English writing perspective not Chinese) but once you get used to it, its actually very straight forward and simple. Believe me this phone will turn heads everywhere you go. Forget the lack of Mp3 functions (go get an ipod if you want to listen to mp3s since phone radiation gives you cancer!) -- It's appearance makes up for everything -- And its a great price too!

I just installed the cd given in the box. i wait till the screen detects the mobile when i hook it up. (the programme is just a replica of the phone on the monitor screen) The use works fine for me, and it also charges too. Install the given cd and try the usb port and see what happens because it doesnt automatically detect it at the first go.

This is my first mobile. I didn't have any experiences with other mobiles to compare it to. I bought it in Beijing two months ago and had major troubles with it. The joint of that clamshell was poorly manufactured and not stable. The two parts could be moved against each other and creaked. I consider that poor quality. One week later I went to the Motorola service one center and people there claimed that this was normal and that they couldn't help me. But I persisted and changed to a new mobile. Then I found that all of the models had this problem, which was very disappointing. About one month later the new mobile's screen started to blank and software would crash when I shut/opened the cell. I went to the MSO center to repair it. They told me they changed the mainboard and parts of the hull. I also got new (or at least different) software. The mobile still creaks and the screen part is easily moved out of position when I turn it over. BTW, the chinese motorola support was not friendly at all and tried to brush me off. Nobody could speak any english. Many chinese people I asked would tell me that you shouldn't buy a Motorola phone. There are many other cells. I probably won't give this company another shot. Now I will see how the new phone works out. PS: I installed the software on my notebook and my phone is recognized. But the software seemingly can't process chinese sms and all downloaded are crippled.

I love my A668.. only thing is i'm having problems connecting it to my computer lately. Will never sync up contacts.. and can't download pics either... Great camera.. no way to get it to my computer. AS well, sometiems it will display the wwrong time.. For example @ 3pm it'll say 5pm... regularly. Great phone but problematic

Finger writing mode! (FWR) Go to page 43 in your manual! Omg this is the greatest technology going!!! IF YOUR CHINESE YOUR GOING TO LOVE THIS! After fingering writing, the phone gives you a choice of 6 letter for you to choose, just incase you have miss stroked. It is precise and fun!! It is slow if you want to type plain english, i say stick to normal texting :P. BUT! you can switch to english FWR. This phone is so fun, its keeping me awake hehe

About Taking Pictures: Ok since people been "moaning" about the camera, i have been playing around with it especially for you people :D. You can change the resolution of the pictures which gives GREAT pictures! Theres also a quality change *fine, normal and basic" (i have kept mine on fine :D) *when you higher the resolution, the camera becomes laggy/sluggish* I will find out more later, i need to sleep now lol

You need to turn the camera resolution up to max. Then the A668 takes amazing pictures. The only problem I have is that the software that came with the phone is not reading the phone as connected when I hook it up to my pc with the usb cable. I also cant figure out how to choose english in Fiinger rec. mode while writing text messages. It only recognizes chinese and numbers. Other then that the phone is stylish, and has great features..except no BT or IR

I love the phone, but my camera is not very clear at all, not bright either, and the flash is a waste (does nothing). Does anyone have this problem? Other phones with camera with less resolution are much clearer.

Is this phone USB connectable? If so where are you suppose to get the data cable from because it doesn't come with the phone... It has a great camera (brightness + photo editing as well!!!)... I Just need to know how you can transfer the pictures to your computer.

Although by looking at the specs, this phone may not be comparable to other MOTO makes...the expensive price tag of A668 is probably due to the new technology applied to this model-the finger writing recognition. Other than this,the mega-pix image capture feature adds more bucks to the price tag when compares to other models offered by other makers such as SAMSUNG or LG. Personally,i will not go for A668,as the finger-recognition gimmick is not that appealling to me. Though there's 1.3mpix camera,without upgradable memory,and other connectivity for data transfer functions,the mpix cam is a waste. However,there's one thing that other makers can't match...that's we won't need to pay extra bucks for installation softwares as well as data cables.

Absolutely wonderful I like this phone a lot. Motorolla are better than Nokia and equally as good as Sharp, Siemens, Samsung, Sony Ericsson they are really good!!!
