Motorola Moto Z - User Reviews

  • If someone can help me,please i need help, tell me how can i change or remove password on Motorola z droid??

  • It used to be good before Lenovo bought it. Now Motorola is TRASH. Stay away from it!

  • Android my phone did not go up 7):

  • Motorola is the worst company I have ever dealt with...lies,lies,... want more money before they will help, and it's still under warranty

  • For battery fast drean problems go to moto application and stop motion detection help to improving battery life

  • Hey guys, does anyone knows how implement this color slider in Display color mode?

  • Wow, month 13, battery goes bad, expands and pops the phone apart. Since warranty is over I buy a replacement battery and install it myself. Month 15, distance sensor goes bad so screen goes black when the phone is in use so you can't dial an extension or respond to Verizon's voice prompts. Month 17, fingerprint sensor just stops working. I cannot wait until this crap phone is 2 years old so I can run over it with my car and post all over social media what crap Motorola is putting out there. Sure junk folks. Stay away from Motorola!!

  • From my opinion, Turbocharger is the culprit here!

  • was it just a bad battery or it is related to 7.1 update or turbocharger that ruined the battery???

  • what causes this battery drain issue ? Is there anyway to prevent this problem?

  • I've had this phone for 2 years now. About half a year ago I started having the same problems, I walked around with a powerbank and the phone had to be plugged in all the time. Did some research and came to the conclusion that I had killed the battery. But here's the catch: I killed it (accidentally, of course) with the turbo charger that was included. I had the battery changed, found myself another (regular) charger and it is running very well. To anyone thinking about buying it: it's a good phone, the battery life (with a healthy battery) is okay, if you're not a heavy user. But beware of the turbo charger that's in the box. DO NOT CHARGE THIS PHONE WITH THE INCLUDED TURBO CHARGER, at least not over an hour at a time and definitely not overnight!!! It WILL kill the battery over time.

  • I had the same problem. I would browse the internet and suddenly the phone will shut off even thou battery was at 80%. After installing Lineage OS the phone no longer randomly shuts down. If you have similar problem I would advise connecting it to the charger and updating the phone to the latest android version. Installing Lineage OS will void you're warranty and if you don't know what you are doing you could brick your phone.

  • I was using my Moto z Droid and it shut down....when I switch it on... it's just vibrate and the screen is black... please what is the fault??

  • battery solution with moto mods incipo, or update os to pie...waitinggg

  • My does the same

  • My phone goes dead at 60%

  • I purchases my Moto Z about 3 weeks ago. I dropped it in the toilet a couple days ago. It was only 1/3 immersed in water, I grabbed it out immediately, took cover off, and dried it off. Didn't really seem to be wet at all. It worked for a couple hours when the screen got a bunch of grey lines, and it gradually went black. That's where it is now. I had purchased the insurance, which cost me $89 deductible. I have a new phone on the way, but my biggest complaint is that phones I have had (which included a Moto) in the past had gotten more water than this. The phone is way too easy to kill. Incidentally, it still rings, and if I can find the place to swipe, I can answer calls, but since the screen is black, I can't do anything else. What is up with that!! I'm pretty darn upset with Motorola over this.

  • I had the exact same problem. it started happening coincidentally as soon as my warranty expired and every professional I asked to fix it refused because it's so hard to get the battery out without ruining the rest of the phone (apparently the screen is plastic and you need heat to melt the glue and remove the screen, but then the plastic screen has a high chance of melting.) After almost two years with a fancy wired phone, I finally got a note 8 and never looked back. Clearly this is a common problem

  • Using this phone for last 1.5 year, with 2 mods (TurboPower and Gamepad). It is updated to Android 8.0.0 and September 1, 2018 security patches. This phone is fast one, have decent camera, great flash and big screen, it is easy to operate one handed. If you run more demanding games, phone will heat up, so beware of that. If you can find it under 250e it is good choose even for 2019.

  • Good RAM, screen and battery sizes are ok but released in 2016 and android 6 ... this phone is outdated. Motorola seems to be a serious brand, I will perhaps think over the moto E4 ( not a beast either but a little more recent. I especially appreciate that its battery is removable )

  • how much you paid to indore service centre for all this?. I have perfectly working condition and want to sell it

  • So Motorola has decided not to mind anyone with this Moto z battery drainage problem. We love the phone and we love the company that's why we're talking so much for it to be fixed. If care is not taken Motorola will loose it's customers so please fix this before it's too late.

  • Hey guys, I also bought the moto Z , because I was once a moto fan, my moto x and moto x pure were the best phones I ever had. But this phone was something different, it was like a merc ,you know the kind which needs a lit of upkeep and doesn't offer a lot of features. But the features it does offer are astounding, like the screen and the design and with it all The magnetic case and the type c early gen. I have had 2 screen break downs and 1 battery replacement (everyone has one battery replacement). My services centre in indore is do bad they took 2 months to get the correct screen both the times, whenever the ordered they got a. Moto z play screen. This is a phone you have to learn to live with . If you have a good eye. You would really value the colours and the quad hd screen

  • The only solution is changing the battery for a new one...

  • I initially loved my moto z. I loved that it didn't come pre loaded with dozens of apps I would never use. It was sleek and I loved the idea of the mods. Now I can't wait to get rid of it. NEVER again will I buy a moto product. I had the battery issue most people discuss 2 months that before my warranty was up. They "fixed" it. When it came back all the report said was that they fixed the sound card? Why would a sound card make the battery drain but not actually drain? Whatever. The problem was fixed. But low and behold, it was a fucking quick fix. Cause 3 montha after my warranty was up? Yup Battery problems. It'll be 100% and I'll turn it on, and it'll immediately shut off. I'll try to turn it on again, and it won't cause it's dead. Plug it in and magically at 65%. It shut off during a phone call, it won't let me use the camera unplugged. Nothing. I've essentially been forced to have a very fancy home.phpne/cord phone. Because it has to remain plugged in 24/7 to function, and even then sometimes won't even work. Motorola knows about this issue, they know it's not one person or a handful, they are fully aware of is a manufacture issue because of a faulty part yet they refuse to pull the phone or acknowledge the problem to the people who bought their phone. They are a money grubbing company that clearly doesn't care about it's rep, for some reason. Never again will I own Motorola or a lenova product. Maybe I'll try my luck again with samaung, but lenova can go join LG in the land of shit phones.

  • I also have the same battery defect. It started a month after the 12-mo warranty wore off. My battery goes from 100% to 65% within twenty minutes, and that's without me actively using it. It switches itself off at 80% battery if I try to use an app like Google Maps, Spotify or take photos, then can't switch it back on because of low battery until I charge it again, even though it will instantly be at 50+% percent battery when plugged into a charger. I want to smash it against a wall any least twice a day.

  • Same! I had a Moto Z and replaced it because I bought it outright and figured it was something I did to cause the battery to burn out like it did, but after less than three months, my new one did the same. I've had it eight months and want to run it over with my car.

  • Do not waste your money on this! I have had 2, and both were terrible. The first one was begrudgingly replaced by Motorola for a defective battery after a year. Guess what happened with the new one.... same battery defect. If you want a phone that actually stays on for more than 5 minutes and is responsive, this is not the phone for you. I bought it originally since I was intrigued by the modular idea, and that's all it is an Idea. The execution of this phone is terrible. Maybe the newer models have fixed these issues, but this phone should never have been released to the public.

  • Based on my experience I cannot recommend any Motorola or Lenovo, and will probably newer buy one again. Purchased my Moto Z May 2017. Almost a year went fine. Then after Android Oreo update or some security update (Summer 2018), the battery life dropped. Now battery drops from 30-40% immediately to zero without any warning. Warranty period has ended and according Lenovo the phone model will remain in 8.0 Oreo. Sounds like I am not alone with the problem, and no update is available. No interest to pay for battery change, because problems seems to be software related (and software updates are not available).

  • The update on motoz play, broke my phone wouldn't call shut itself off ect...they sent me another one and this one is eating up all my battery life in just hours...now I have to send the replacement back for them to fix, they wanted the phone first, so I had to lease a phone from Verizon...yep...they broke my phone and that wasn't bad enough they want me to go without a phone so they can fix the problem they created... Motorola is going to be history when I get another..

  • I buy this phone in 2017 from my friend because i like it so much and i still love it. i think that some people misunderstood the point. they make this phone so thin and light weight just to look good and impressive and they also make the battery mod if you want to charge so you can just put the mod on the back of your phone they make it so simple but some people didn't get this point and saying negative things about it. if they can't buy mod or maybe don't like to put mod with them so they have to buy moto z force

  • Yup, recently started having the same battery problems and the warranty wouldn't fix it because the camera glass is shattered. That's not even the issue. That glass is so weak, I found that lot of people broke the camera glass without even knowing. Sad times for Motorola, good job Lenovo. I had a few Motorola's smartphones, even if I loved the design and software, all of then ended up with serious problems, only one time I got the money back. #neveragain. there are better brands to choose from

  • Yeah , I have the same problem , I think it's not the battery , I think there are many problems with the software

  • I will never buy from Motorola again - they refuse to fix my phone after the last update destroyed the battery life - even fully charged the phone shuts down for no reason - I have reset it multiple times, removed apps and everything else but the phone shuts down for no reason and even with a fully charged battery and fully charged moto battery pack, it shuts down and drains the battery immediately going from 100%+ to 0% - I will never buy from this company again - I have had the phone less than 2 years and they refuse to take responsibility for a problem that they created

  • AGREED!!!! This phones battery sucks to the MAX!!!

  • Thinnest phone ?

  • The battery is awful. I no sooner charge it and it already starts to drain. I am wondering if I can replace the battery with a much better battery??????

  • camera review ?

  • I have it for 6months,phone is awesome, battery not so but moto moda are great..cool phone for 300euro😉

  • How`s the camera quality??

  • This is a good phone obviously, I got it since January but the drainage battery problem is just killing me, I've already posted the issue here, can any technician from Motorola or levono or better still Android help us solve this problem? It's all about the battery please help us

  • This phone is trash battery drain fast and takes for ever to turn it on if it comes on at all worst phone I ever owned.

  • The best phone ever

  • İt has no updates arter Oreo but my device works with Oreo as good as 6.0 (if you ise it much-2.5,3 hours )

  • Please, Motorola should quickly come up with a new update to stop the drainage of the battery. This is embarrassing and also tainting the reputation of Motorola. I used the x 2nd generation and I was Soo pleased that's why I went for this but it seems I'm really getting disappointed and the earlier the better else we'll start going to other vendors. Thanks

  • the worst phone i've ever used in my entire life, i bought it same price as iphone 7 then, during that time they have offered freebies like speakers but that's it, since i availed for the extended warranty the store was able to replace the first one due to the battery got easily drained and worst is battery died after removing from the charger though you can see that it is full battery. Second unit is also showing the same problem till i send it again to the department store where i bought it and they werent able to repair it for more than a month now. the poorest quality phone ever.

  • 147€ :)

  • the only downfall is the battery

  • Seems the Nougat update is really bad, does the Oreo update solve these problems? Moto Z owners, is this phone worth $175? Please advise.

  • I've had this phone 7 months now and it's had a few problems. Ever since the 7.1 update, battery drain has become worse. Apps will randomly crash frequently, and the phone will randomly reboot a few times a week. Screen flickers when charging. Bluetooth will sometimes not work. Currently, the battery requires replacement after only 7 months from new. This is my first Motorola phone and I'm thinking it will be my last. Just purchased a OnePlus, so we'll see how that goes now.

  • This Moto Z in Indonesia region is cheap now, price go down fast. It is around USD 181.6 now in authorized warranty.

  • Good phone Lag less UI Fasr finger print

  • its obvious now that company's are developing bugged soft ware updates to force people into upgrading there phones. smh ill just keep buying pre pays until the quality becomes a real thing again

  • I just bought the phone brand new for $180. Having read lots of reviews and comments about the battery problem of this phone, I agree with you and must follow your way of using this phone. Hopefully the phone will last for more than 2 years from now.

  • Hi how long have you been using the phone for?

  • (7) transferring photos from SD card to the lap top. Some time it works, some time it does not. Not a smooth transfer at all times.

  • this phone gave me so much problems. (1) the battery: you don't know whether the phone is charging or discharging, and by the time you need to use the phone, you may find that there is no power whatsoever. (2) the phone gets hot most of the times. You are just like holding a little hot device on your hand. (3) when you don't want any notifications, it is hard to turn all the apps off one by one, and as soon as you restart your phone, you have to to the shutting of all the apps again, and even when you think you have shut them all off, the phone just rings in the meeting of your meeting. (4) it take longer time to start up your phone. (5) you have to buy the manufacturer's charging cable and plug for better connections. You may run into troubles by using those generic ones. (6) by the time you want to take pictures, the camera often gives issues.

  • This is my second Motorola phone since 2008 (The first one was Motorola RAZR V3), and I've been followed up the issue about Motorola's phones like the screen get easily burn in just only 2 months of usage, or the failure with the speaker and mostly found on Motorola Nexus 6. So a month ago I was planning to buy a Xiaomi Mi5s and it is cheaper than Moto Z. So i found that Moto is more eye catchy and more durable as I guess before. Reading these opinions from user before my Moto Z shipped really make me frustation and how to prevent any worse thing that can be happened to my Moto Z. I will use this phone for only 1 year (12 months) and will give this one to my sister or probably will sell it. after 1,5 Month of usage : The screen is so weak, it get srcatch easily, the water propelent layer can easily removed by putting a vinegar into it (and yes I accidentally drop a vinegar beside my phone and caused an effect like waterdroping on the screen) and it it just a minor issue. There is no software issue or whatsoever, and it has been upgraded to Oreo. Wish me luck for this device, i will not complaining about the battery since almost all of the flagship phone has this issus for long term usage

  • The worst phone I ever used...

  • If you're thinking of buying a Moto Z don't do it. Worse phone I've ever owned. I've been back to Verizon 10 times in the first month to fix glitches. I tried to return it after 14 days but was told I was too late. Just don't buy this phone it's a waste of money.

  • I have used a lot of phone in my life. This is the most super phone but just the issue of battery drain in it

  • Have the exactly the same issue, the diference is that it become a brick with 15 months.

  • Great phone, i have buy it on 2016 and I always used it. No issues, the best choice!!!

  • Dont buy Motorola. I had one, bought newer, worst phone ever. Google voice, voice to text, and more never has worked. Won't pair, etc. Can't do anything on road, without going against law of no texting, etc. Don't buy, also not much accessories available. Cases, etc. Very slow, will shut down on own. I have Verizon. I have been to Verizon several times, Even sent me new phone, probably refurbished after first month. Don't buy Motorola.

  • Loved the phone and the creative and useful mods.. for about a year. 6 days after the warranty expired, the battery started draining quickly and having more and more charging issues. Even with the extra battery mod installed, by 15 months, would only last several hours and at 18 months, died completely. Out of warranty and can't find a place that can swap out a new battery without damaging the phone. Now an expensive brick.

  • The best phone... I'm using this phone and it is awesome very lite weight and amazing feeling in hand and battery life is awesome in this much thickness it is just 5.2mm so battery is awesome and those who are don't like the battery of the phone they just shutup bucause if you need a big battery over slimness then buy z force. I recommended this phone its cool 😘

  • Such a big disapointment. I gave Motorola a second chance buyng Moto Z. My very first disapointment was the Moto Razr, the phone presented failure in the speaker with 2 month of use. Now the battery drain issue on Moto Z blowed up my mind. I will never buy Motorola or Lenovo once again.

  • you can do a factory reset after upgrading to Oreo. that will fix the battery drain issue.

  • WE had the same issue with my husband's phone. We went back to Verizon and they replaced it for free since it was a manufacturing issue. In a year and a half they have sent us a total of 4 or 5 phones. The part that really makes me mad is that they won't let us trade it in or anuthing we still owe the contract. We have to factory reset it all the time and send it back for another. Now it's starting to take a really long time to charge and we are going to have to spend another hour and a half on the phone.

  • Do not purchase this phone or any other phone from the Motorola manufacturer. I purchased the Moto Z from Verizon a couple of years ago. It worked ok for over a year but then stopped charging. Since you can't get to the battery without breaking the glass, I called Motorola to see if I could purchase a phone directly from them since I didn't want to have another contract with Verizon and planned to just change the sims card and then when my contract was up with Verizon I could go somewhere else. Motorola cost for a new phone was $150 so I thought it was a great deal and I paid it. These are not new phones, they are refurbished and simply don't work. The first problem was the phone would not charge so I sent it back, got another one that had the same problem and I was sending it back but I dropped it and broke the glass. I called Motorola to see if they could work with me on this since I had spent over 3 weeks working with them trying to get a phone that worked. They finally said they would give me a 25% discount but that was all they could do. I explained that I wasn't paying any more money for phones that don't work and I had paid for a NEW phone but they were sending refurbished. Motorola would not offer any other solution and I could tell by talking to their support team that they knew this phone was no good.

  • Have had this phone for 18 months, did an update last week and wifi stopped working. called Motorola and was told nothing could be done because it is off warranty. No more Moto for me.

  • Had Moto z for one and a half years. Loved until it broke. Bought through Verizon. Neither Motorola or Verizon will do anything about it. Had it to two repair shops and they say it is the motherboard. Motorola techs keep having me turn it off and reboot it and blah blah blah nothing works and they won't stand behind their product.

  • I bought my son a moto z two years ago for Christmas. We went through 3 incidents of green screen or other screen problems. Motorola changed out the first three because they were still under a year but then on the 4th one they refused. Wanted $150 to replace a phone that has been nothing but trouble. I would not recommend this phone and would go as far as to say I will not buy another Motorola phone. I have owned Motorola phones since the first Droid came out and always defended them against the Apple. If I knew how to contact the Head of Motorola I would. I am furious and no longer a Motorola fan.

  • Bought this model in April and I'm absolutely happy with it. Fast, good screen, 32 GB works for me. Found a bargain on ebay for battery mod and JBL speaker (also with battery). Lasts now 3 days and recharging is incredibly fast. Can be unlocked and first thing I did was install LineageOS 15.1 = Oreo 8.1 with monthly security updates.

  • Just traded this piece of junk like many people did.In order to.mske good Verizon gave me a big device credit..The phone a Levine is the biggest crap phone. The battery died quickly it crashed countless times stopped taking calls..There's a reason why they offer a 15 credit the phone is garbage. They ruined the Motorola brand

  • Same happened with me also..... Very bad phone

  • The phone is very broken. I have been repaired 3 times, fotr mainboard and battery. Really bad luck for people who bought this model.

  • A few years ago, I knew a couple of people who had Motorola phones. They seemed to be a good quality phone. I have always wanted to own a Motorola phone. I don't need the top-of-the-line iphone or Samsung phone, for me, as long as it takes decent pics, and is able to do everything else, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, and has good call quality. Looking around, it seems that the Moto Z has now dropped to $299 as of the end of June 2018. But, it's a 2 year old phone, and I see constant reviews that complain that the battery life is so poor with Oreo, and many complaints about Wi-fi. Reading your review alone, after seeing dozens of other negative reviews, has convinced me that although the Moto Z is now much more affordable, if I purchased this phone, I probably would regret it with all the issues I might have to deal with. I am going to save up some money and go for something else, maybe one of the Google Pixels, or possibly OnePlus. And by the way, if I did buy the Moto z, I have zero interest in ever buying any of the Moto Mods. The battery pack is a nice idea, but if Motorola had put a decent size battery in the Moto Z, then people would not need to buy an extra battery pack.

  • I think the phone is cool

  • I love(d) my Moto Z, right up until the battery started draining insanely fast, and switching off when it said anywhere from 15-30%. I guess that might have started with the 'Oreo' update.

  • I bought one moto a year ago.i regret i bought it 3 months after I received the phone, there was a bluetooth connection problem and now there was a wifi connection problem. I can not connect internet with an wifi and the phone is closing and opening itself. Stay away from moto and do not waste your money

  • Hi. I've had my moto z first model since Dec 16 & since last Android update to 8.0 battery drains fast & switches off around 45%. I know it's not just my phone as my husband and I have Dane phone and his also does same & started same time. I'm thinking of buying a new one to replace but worried will have same android version & same problem. Where did you buy yours, what model & what Android version is it? I don't want to change phone as until this issue I love the phone and bought a few mods. I'm in Australia.

  • This Phone Is Amazing In Every Thing I Buy This phone in Pakistan Karachi And Very Good Working

  • I was one the first buyers along with the camera attachment... bought it in March 2017... within 4 months the battery started loosing charge. Service centre was not at all helpful and they reported it as a water damage problem, while this was not the issue at all. They delayed the solution till the warranty got over and the latest they have told me that the case is closed and I should get the phone repaired on payment. I am truly dissatisfied with this kind of treatment to the client by a reputed company like MOTOROLA, will advise all my friends and family not buy their products.

  • Same problem wat do for the pblm

  • hi how did you root moto z droid could you please show me the process. Thanks

  • After updating Android 8.0, battery is poor and the phone can be used as usual only 4 - 6 hours.

  • I m using Moto z since last year I also upgrade the software but suddenly while using fone or camera it's turn off and also it's CPU heat up and battery life is so poor I have to charge my fone twice a day ....

  • Good phone for the price. battery could be better :)

  • I m using Moto z since last year it's Bater life is not so good even it's turn off when it's has more then 50% charge and also the fone CPU heat up I have to charge my fone two to three times daily .... Any solution why it's turn off and heat up .

  • Never again a Motorola. Thank you Lenovo for the distraction of a life long dream of mine. (Having a Motorola phone). The reasons are as follow: 1- The Bluetooth never worked properly from day one. 2- The camera has been always below average. 3-The hardware and concept bod the z series are good, but the software is rubbish. With the first update the battery life decrease to half and with the recent one it decreased one quarter. 4-The Android 8 update has problem with the LtE service and I'm always stuck on edge aervice. 5-Please keep in mind this phone is less then a year old, and no I will not send my phone to service, rather will not give good comments or buy an Motorola again. I will install a costum rom on it and 8f it doesn't. Become better it goes to trash. So in conclusion I have to say good concept, I just wish it was done by some other company.

  • Does moto Z version can use dual SIM? If yes, Could you show me the how to put the SimCard? Thank you in advance

  • May i know from where did u get this offer bro?

  • battery should be 4000 mah

  • Okay I am thinking of flashing it, I am on rectue channel of updates, Can any one help me how to unlock bootloader?

  • htc u ultra

  • Hey Guys, Just bought Moto Z Dual Sim XT1650-03 But it can't detect SIM cards, tried different SIM cards on the 2 slots, nothing detected. The SD Card works fine though. The Phone is on Android 7.0 Does anyone have ideas to help?

  • I have no real complaints. It's easy to root and flash custom ROMs. With a good battery mod it lasts 2 days. Guess I've been lucky, it runs smooth and fast. Thinking about getting a pixel xl or a 3t but it still works great.

  • Its one of the best phones available with SD820 in the market right now and if you aren't a heavy gamer, you wouldn't really need 835 or the upcoming 845 as the phone is fairly capable of handling all of your everyday tasks! Also, Oreo in India is also available now.

  • Terrible phone and terrible manufacture, no usbc headphones in box, (Huawei give you them) overprices cases that u do need for the moto mods to work seamlessly, My phone only lasted 11 months before dying, thank god it didn't last another few weeks or it would have been out of warranty. Still waiting on Motorola paying my refund after sending back my phone 13 weeks ago as they cant repair it or provide a replacement, support is sooooo bad, will never use or recommend another Motorola phone, Lenovo are living on a name that is dead.

  • Now the oreo is available for this..

  • I used this one year. But this battery was over heating. At now battery did not support properly. if i remove it from power bank it was closing. Very worse with in a year.

  • Sorry but there always defective, but at most ppl said good things. In my country samsung made in vietnam, hard pass a year, battery drain fast, Motorola far better quality

  • I am using this phone from past 6 months. As my experience overall please don't buy this phone.. it is always stuck up. Each time I have to restart this.. and the main issue is over heating.. waste of my 1700riyals

  • Where you buy this in only 8500

  • I've had my Moto Z for about 16 months now. Overall its an alright phone. The screen is probably the best part. Its vivid, bright, and looks fantastic. The mods are pretty cool, but there aren't many to choose from and moto doesn't seem too interested in them to be honest. Some of my mods now have started to fall off or disconnect while attached to the phone which is very annoying. Moto is also very poor with software updates, as the Z is still on 7.1.1 December security patch. Battery life is atrocious though. I'm already on my second Z and (hopefully) will be either replacing this one or switching to the Z Play within the next two weeks. On the best of days I can get 3.5 hours of SOT with most days falling below 3 hours. I usually have to charge 2-3 times a day. Very disappointing considering before the Z was updated to Nougat I averaged over 6 hours SOT. Moto support is also very bad and not helpful at all.

  • I'm currently using moto z it's owsome phone Slimmest phone Great display Quad HD 551ppi impressive Best camera ppl think more mega pixels gives best photos it's not true it's based upon aperture Battery is2600 mah but it's ok phone giving a turbo charging 100 charging only in 40 min quite impressive Snapdragon 820 vgood No 3.5mm jack because it's very slim phone ever 5.2mm C type port give adapter to 3.5mm very good sound

  • I buy this mobile from a offer INR 8500 only its working perfect no issues very clear voice awesome display net speed also fine and i am not time wasting gaming guy. as i am a photographer the camera also wonderful thanks motorola.

  • I've had my Moto Z for a month now. It runs on Android 6 and battery life is excellent. I'm not a heavy user, but if I start off at 100% in the morning it'll be anywhere between 50%-70% by mid evening. Overnight it will consume no more than 5%. Had thought about getting a battery mod before I bought it, but so far it's completely unecessary. I get notifications every week or so prompting me to upgrade to to Android 7. Given the issues with 7.1.1. , which appear quite catastrophic and are not limited to Motorola phones, I have no issue leaving things as they are. If you think this is the phone for you and you can get it with any Android version pre 7.1.1 then go for it, it's a great phone.

  • The battery stoped, after only 1 year usage, working despite my care with the product, meaning the phone shuts down with a high discontinuous changes in the battery percentage. Now, it shuts down even with 90% and the only way to turn on again is charging on cable, utterly useless product from Motorola.

  • Dont buy this phone, it's got a maasive battery issue when updated to Android 7.1.1

  • With a heavy use (like games or BT), yes only 3h. But activating the battery economy mode, it could save more hours. I have the battery mode, with the last turbopower mode, it could charge near twice the phone, giving it a full day use. The battery is a real problem for this phone. The rest is really good.

  • I just bought a used moto z but I feel my moto z battery feels very wasteful and only get sot under 3 hours. is that a natural thing? or I have to go to SC motorola in my country to claim a warranty for a new battery change. Please help me.

  • excuse me, I just bought Moto Z yesterday. and I am confused with the manual. it is mentioned there that the two round shape near the fingerprints are the speakers. but I don't hear anything in it

  • Yes, I wish it to :). Thanks for replying.

  • Definetly Moto Z. It is a better idea. Yet I wish you could afford buying a Moto Z2 Force, since it has much better specs with a well-performing dual camera.

  • Moto Z or Z2 play? I am going for moto Z, better price and harwdare. What do u think?

  • I used MoTO 2nd Generationfor 3 Yrs without any Complaints it was very good in that thought i go for Moto Z but it is disappointed me after three months of purchase batterry stated draining fast when i given for service they took 25 days to get result . The result they have to replace to new one after this i dont like it to get that what to do..... if you buy ask someone who is using more than 6 months....then go ahaead...

  • I honestly loved this phone. It was fast, thin and had plenty of storage of me! For the first year I had this phone, I would have argued with anyone the the Moto Z was the best phone on the market. Then, literally two days after my year warranty was up, I did a system update and my battery started draining in 3 hours. I had to put my phone on airplane mode if I wanted it to last more than 6 hours. So, since I couldn't afford to fork out another couple hundred on a phone, I bought a Motorola battery mod. This boosted my battery life quite a bit. However, once the mod battery is dead, my phone shortly follows. Once my phone is using it's own battery, it completely shuts down at 35%. Once it is plugged in, it still states the battery is at 35%. I'm extremely bummed that this phone has been such a disappointment.

  • Moto Z is better dont forget motoMODS too

  • How to make hard reset to Moto z

  • Do you get to the day with applications like YouTube, emails, WhatsApp and Facebook?

  • Moto z or htc u ultra??

  • go with one plus this phone is terrible. This phone is made super cheaply and has shit for performance and it also gets super hot for normal use.

  • No. The Oneplus 5 has much better specs. And unless you've seen a speed test, you'd know that.

  • Moto z or honor 8?

  • lol

  • Hahaha You dont you know the moto z is faster then oneplus5

  • I also have trouble with my phone people that will hear me when they call me if I call them they don't hear me been having this problem for a few months they don't replace one phone doing the same thing call him up old let's try this let's do that it works for 2 days and it's back to people not hearing me your pay for a new phone they send you a reconditioned phone makes you wonder what ever they have reconditioned phones and they just come out piece of crap

  • Dude, you are kidding, right? Moto Z's turbo charger is one of the best in the market. It surely is high quality. What you are saying is nonsense. - If what you are trying to say is something like the usb-c part of the charger does not work anymore, try to replace it. - If you what you are trying to say is about your phone's usb-c jack, then try to replace that one. Are you sure that you aren't treating your phone and its charger really bad?

  • My Moto Z Droid doesn't wanna accept charge. The cable is generic and incredibly cheap and that may be the cause, but many people are having this issue too. The thing is. I just got it, and it's dead and it won't charge...does anyone have any tips or fixes for me?

  • No 3.5mm jack! What shit.

  • exactly the same for me

  • i used this phone for six month and start annoyed me, hot in the back, become more unpleasant when the sudden dead and must restart the phone.. bye moto

  • The Moto z is a very good phone with the JBL soundboost speaker. Great phone for this kind of budget.

  • this is my 274 Android phone and motorola z is one of the best

  • Yes I see.. this is your first android phone 😂😂

  • Good camera!

  • send apps "foto gallery" and no problems:)

  • Camera good

  • The Best Phone!

  • Camera is crap, trying to take fun pictures impossible. Any movement blurry picture. Worst camera phone I have ever owned.

  • your idea is non sense. you bought android, ofcourse you should have google account on it, also you can download any gallery apps on the internet your not forced to use playstore.

  • Worst phone, it has no gallery feature or internal photo storage. You are forced to have a Google account and you can't even create an album without the internet. You are forced to use cloud storage. What a scam between the maker, Google, and the service provider.

  • i dont have that problem but for camera yes its quality is not that good so you can buy hasselblad mod that one has good quality overall i think its a good phone. the only thing i dont like is the moto word. i prefer motorola on it instead of moto

  • I hate this phone. People can’t hear me talking . Sending messages it cuts off and goes back to main screed. Picture are horrible quality. Camera button freezes up and have tho close out and go back, so I missed the picture moment

  • the hotspot settings, like how long you want the hotspot to be on.

  • I've had the phone now for about 3months and no problems whatsoever phone is great battery life is ok but luckily I got the battery pack with is so I easily get 6hours screen time with it only problem I have is I can't find a screen protector anywhere in South Africa so I'd recommend to anyone if you plan to get this phone make sure the town your in has its accessories and cases 😂 but other than that the screen quality is awesome game play is 👌 no lag or freezing nothing it's so far the best phone I've ever had

  • after 7.1.1 my phone became a beast. it can last a full day with 5 hours of heavy usage

  • Have you ever gotten this Android 8 phone to Korea?

  • Make hard resett and its be better

  • After updating android 7.1.1 I a. Facing problem to playing game . Please help

  • Yeah I have same problem..

  • Yes my cell dies super fast now!

  • Few people mention it but what i miss the most about this phone is the weight and thickness. It’s the lightest, thinnest phone out there. Never feels heavy or strains your hand after a lot of use.

  • after my device got an update to 7.1.1 nougat the battery timing has decreased drastically anyone facing similar problems and is there a solution to this. Thank you

  • Please tell, what settings it is ? Thanks in advance

  • i had the same thing with my new htc 10 evo. I figured it was just a "settings" thing :)

  • What the heck is that problem? What do you mean by "link"? The phone works perfectly fine for me and had no issue whatsoever so far.

  • Purchased recently. Device is great. But many times hotspot get off automatically. Anyone faced similar issue

  • Bought a Moto z, the link problem is a nightmare. Cleared cashe over and over still no links working. Why would you inflict the public with non working features. Worst phone I have ever owned.

  • Direct Videocalling is available or not , Volte available or not

  • i have the phone for about 1 month.i have to tell you it's great value for money.you will not find an other brand phone with sd620 4gb RAM for about 300 euros. no overheating issues even after gaming,my phone has received 2 security updates during my ownership, battery life is not great i get 4-4.5 screen on time.but it recharges really fast it goes 80% in about 45 minutes, but i bought a powerbank so it's no more an issue for me. moto mods are expensive gadgets ,you can get an external JBL speaker with half the cost and double watts of sound power. and you can also use with your other devices for streaming your music. the same goes for the battery, and the truezoom camera.

  • I returned my Moto Z a few weeks ago due to bluetooth not working. I then decided to get the Honor 9 because it's a newer and 'faster' device and I also wanted to try something new. But Honor just didn't grew up to me like Moto Z did. So in the end I decided to buy the Moto Z again. I prefered it's camera and OIS video recording. Also the gestures for camera and LED are so addictive. I love the idea of Moto mods whixh makes the phone special and everyone knows what to buy you for Christmas - a Moto Mod :-) I know it's past your purchase date but I hope this comment might be of use to someone.

  • go for Huawei P9

  • yes you want it for gitex! i have your problem too. i prefer xiaomi mi 6

  • Guys suggestions from Htc 10 (Aed 1099) Htc u ultra (Aed 1249) , moto z(Aed1000) , Sony Xperia xz (Aed 1429) , Lg v20 (AED 1299) , lg g6 (AED 1599), Huawei mate 9 (1599), Huawei p9 (1099), Huawei p9 plus (Aed1149), please waiting for reply I have to by by 30 September. • Yes. It does support.

  • What is the average battery backup do we get after latest update??

  • Does this phone support volte in india?

  • Your note is correct and happened with me in Lenovo Vibe Shot

  • No this phone is great but yes that my be heating issues in it but i am really interested in this phone to buy

  • I need help. I'm really interested in this phone but I keep hearing about all the problems it's having with heat and connectivity...I'm equally interested in the htc10 but I'm torn between the two..can someone share a little insight about what they would choose? Now keep in mind I have no problem USB c or no jack, I just want to get close to stock Android, without giving up and card expansion...thanks in advance!

  • Uninstall WhatsApp and reinstall it from official site, www.whatsapp.com.

  • A friend of mine owns that phone. The design is "weird" at best. It's ultra thin tho, never seen a phone that thin but it comes with its share of problems. The phone is underwhelming, it's a heating machine. While playing real racing 3, the phone just kept throttling and the back of the phone was unbearable hot. And i thought my old nexus 5 was hot... Despite having a good screen, nice 3D model and visually appealing the phone offered nothing more than problems and freezes. Going thro the android UI was visually hurting my eyes despite having a snapdragon 820. All i could think is how Moto had accomplished to launch such a bad phone with a snapdragon 820 and for that price tag. At that time i still had the nexus 5, which considering a phone from 2013 was performing much better than his new Moto X phone. He wasn't much into phones so he didn't exchange nor refund it, he kept it. When I bought my Oneplus 5 in July my friend realized how dumb he was keeping his phone. Now the Moto is performing much worse Losing GPS signal, Wifi signal constantly turning off. Now it's a freaking heat machine, untouchable when playing clash royale for 10 min, it throttles badly. And that battery, jesus christ, he achieves 1-2 SOT while normally surfing and doing a bit of gaming here and there. He considered selling it for 300€, well, i said: good luck with that! ------------ To make it short, do not buy that phone or you'll regret it deeply. Take 100euros/dollars more and get the oneplus 5 or for the same price the oneplus 3/3T.

  • This is an amazing Phone. Keeps me online with my church at all time without freezing or having to spool at intervals. The downside for me is WhatsApp application that is malfunctioning and I have to restart to make audio and visual calls. It must however be noted that this problem relates only to WhatsApp. Others like Facebook messenger and Skype works perfectly well.

  • It's true I have the same problem with Bluetooth

  • This is an amazing device used an iPhone before this and can feel the difference . I also got the incipio moto mod power it's fantastic I never run out of battery life. The only thing I have noticed is Instagram keeps freezing Nd I have to restart the phone to be Blessed to access it and it can be frustrating has anyone experienced this ??

  • To be honest, so far so good. I'd not had any problem about what you asked in the previous two years with my Moto X either. Also, I do not really think that Lenovo yet intervenes what Motorola does/used to do with its phones (Hardware wise). Given the fact that Lenovo wants to keep Motorola as it is and as its flagship phone brand, I see no reason in forcing them to use ear speakers like Lenovos have. In case something goes bad with the phone, for sure I share it here with you guys.

  • I agree with you....the sound is very low for Lenovo Mobile

  • How is sound coming from ear speaker? I had bad experience with Lenovo, The holes of ear speaker of Lenovo is too small and sweat liqiuid coming from ear goes inside the speaker and close them and make sound very low?

  • The best phone out there for me. After 7.1.1 update its even smoother than before and battery last me 2 full days . All i can say is go for this phone its really worth the money

  • I used the phone for six months, and then I couldn't bear it any longer. A very disappointing experience for a very premium price. From day one I suffered from a very unreliable battery that left me stranded with no connectivity in very critical situations. They claim to offer super fast charging; well no wonder, given that the battery barely lasts for half a day! And then you just have to keep charging and charging. Software is - at best - unstable and applications just keep on hanging, closing and have to be restarted again. You struggle to find basic actions within a settings mapping that doesn't follow basic human logic by any means. Mods are shockingly expensive, priced at 30 - 40% of the phone's value!! Despite the sad financial loss, I was left with no other choice but to ditch the Moto z and buy another phone, that is yes, thicker and heavier but fulfills a basic mobile phone criterion, which is something called RELIABILITY! I was warned by friends from buying a Motorola, because it doesn't have a great history of being a great mobile phone brand. However, I thought after the full brand rehaul by Lenovo and the creativity of the Moto mods platform, it would defeat negative perceptions. Turned out to be a very sad regret though. And certainly never again!!

  • I have same problems

  • Hello Moto your 7.1 is best.Increased battery backup, fastness and smoothness. But you can't avoid heating problem.

  • Update 7.1.

  • Any heating problem

  • Moto-Z Play screen shattered form less than 24" drop. Motorola was no help in solving an apparent design or material defect. Appears their happy to be a repair house for thier parent company Lenovo. Recommend not to buy.....

  • Hi guys i orderd this phone a few days ago and i would just like to know when i get it should i upgrade it to Android nougat or leave it at Android marshmallow?

  • Hey guys i orderd this phone few days ago and id just like to know when i get it should i upgrade it to Android nougat or leave it at Android marshmallow?

  • I have the same problem with the batery, drain very fast

  • I really do not understand people commenting irrationally and unrealistically here. Guys, please be reasonable! - I bought this phone 3 months ago, I use the shell and bumper that come with the phone and they do the job really well! - It has a great camera with a good low-light image capability, especially for its price. - It is thin and light, and it has a great feeling when you hold it (not as ergonomic as Moto x series phones were, though). - I bought the Incipio power pack and JBL sound-boost moto mods paying reasonable prices (100$ together) and they are amazingly useful! The sound of JBL moto mod is clear ,loud enough, it has a great build quality and finishing. The battery pack extends the battery life for approx. 6-8 hours (of usage). - Great moto mods are on the way as well (GoPro, Hasselblad V2 etc.). In case it's too expensive at launch, wait a bit and then buy them. I do not understand people who try to buy everything at launch. - The screen is not shatter proof but does not scratch easily. That is a lie. Like all the smart-phones, you should not drop it (categorically). - It has all the updates of Nougat released so far (7.1.1) and it works pretty stable. - Personally, I loved this phone and how it feels premium. After using Moto X 2nd generation for 2 years, it really is an upgrade in my opinion and I see no reason to regret in buying a Moto Z.

  • Got 7.1.1, battery drain fast than 7.and heating

  • Haha ! It does Morse code though ,😁

  • Extremely delicate phone with shortage of protective cases in stores. Accidentally dropped my phone twice from low (hip) heights. I am 5'6". One time it actually bounced offy thigh on the way down. Both times screen shattered and device no longer Functioned. I have had four smart phone a d dropped them all. I was able to use all of the others after the drops. The screen on this phone seems higher than the edge which may make it more vulnerable to serious damage.

  • My first Slim slot and Sim damaged by high heating. Now using duplicate Sim by second Sim can't use memory card.moto can't avoid heating.

  • How can avoid high heating

  • Physical home button or virtual button?

  • I like most things about this phone, but it has HORRIBLE bluetooth issues. From not finding any devices, to repeatedly disconnecting/turning off, to cutting out constantly--the bluetooth feature is basically unusable, which is absolutely inexcusable for a $700 phone. Check the forums; I'm definitely not the only one having these issues. I can't even listen to music unless I carry around the headphone adapter everywhere. Motorola definitely has to be aware of the issues at this point but have done nothing to correct them (they just suggest clearing cache/factory reset/etc which doesn't work, or they tell you to replace your phone). Never going back to Motorola again.

  • Is that a sentence? What is that? Is it a word jumble puzzle?

  • One of the worst phone that I ever used while over phone is lagging in arrow button keyboards are hanging while hearing andriod updates are slower comparing to one plus models or Google pixel sound quality should be improved only one speaker it's very low sound comparing to other brands

  • The Moto Z came out before Iphone 7, so please explain how Moto copied Apple? Again it is a case of Apple fanboys not having a clue about real technology...

  • You will always get better audio quality with a cord over bluetooth. You seem like a beats by dre loser so it probably doesnt matter.

  • no 3.5 jack and 2600mah battery?? Android is like copy what ever apple does

  • chill the f*** out..theres an adapter that plugs into the usb "c" port to accept that plug...but join the 21st century...everything is bluetooth enabled these days or a Bluetooth adapter is less than 20.00 soo jeeeez your world is not exploding around you because of this!!!

  • u can use earphones with cables from the charging point!! plz don't slang phones without being sure #peace

  • Check the date of release don't talk sh*t in here.

  • This phone announced months before iphone7, and this is extremely thin with a good design, at least better than boring iphone.

  • Why the f.ck they all removed 3.5mm jack. if Apple puts shit on the phone, will they follow? What a looser! Never buy a phone without f*kin 3.5mm jack. I f.kn need it for f*kn aux. Apple have only brillant and smart designers, rest of it just crap. Who designed this piece of crap should shame of it.

  • There is one IMEI on the box for XT1650-03, not dual SIM. You have to check first :)

  • What about FM radio?

  • nice phone

  • The "dedicated slot" for microSD does not apply for Dual Sim [Motorola Moto Z XT1650-03 32GB (RETAIL, BLK, DS, NORDICS,STYLE,CAP GSM 850/900/1800/1900, TYPE M1B90)]. The SIM card tray has places for Nano SIM 1 and shared place for Nano SIM 2 or Micro SD card. That is also said in Read Me document in sales package. For example Huawei Y6 Pro has three slots, two for SIM cards and one for memory card.

  • I really wanted to like this phone but it doesn't send telegrams

  • I purchased this phone last week and all I can say is that everything is perfect in this phone no heating no lag everything fly's on this device I love the idea of how the moods work. camera is awesome in low light and also in day light I cant ask more for this phone. good job Motorola.

  • How is it possible that there is no FM radio ?! Specifically, he writes that he has FM radio

  • Can not find FM radio app in Moto Z

  • I had the same problem with there support. After weeks of going back and forth I finally tweeted at them. Bashing there horrible customer service. And I had a new phone at my doorstep in 3 days. Maybe something for you to try.

  • Looks like this opinion from competitor.

  • same case to my moto z, keep restarting, very annoying, i cant use it properly

  • Perfomance is stunning unfortunately I have bought it two moths ago and it has been in support for over a month and a half, they gave me a replacement suppossely new but display is getting separated from body. The support service is the worst thing ever, many calls and no proper answer I have 3 reparation orders and still waiting

  • Best phone I have used.. The stock android is just freaking amazing I cam from samsung and now i felt i am flying so fast and smooth .. Using a Motorola stock android is just like using an apple with ios.. And the mods are amazing as well.. Just buy power bank mod if you are a heavy user other wise it will easily give u a day in moderate use

  • Op3t

  • I own the Moto Z and I absolutely love it. The fact that you can attach a projector, speaker, or even a camera make it that much more valuable. Also Motorola has pleged to make all future mods available for all Moto Z phones. The nly bad things are that the battery life isnt that good (normal usage probably lasts 7hours) and camera is ok. Galaxy will win on camera but you'll have an overall better experience on the Moto Z.

  • I did not have intention to lie. The screen was barely visible only in total dark, so I thought it had something with backlight. The problem was caused by a broken piece of screen (1 x 2 mm) in lower left corner which I did not know at the time I posted the comment. I found out that in the repair shop after they dissembled the device. Problem was solved by screen replacement. ps. BT still does not work :(

  • I'm using it for about 3 weeks now, i was afraid about battery capacity, but there is no problem , whole day of normal usage and at the end of the day there is still about 30% of it. Works smoothly, very fast, camera is ok ( i'm not a heavy user), all in all for every day activity I recommend this phone.

  • It has 5.2 mm thickness.

  • 2600 mAh, are you kidding me?

  • Hey guys need your suggestions .... which one to buy Moto Z vs S7 Edge vs Op3T

  • You can set font size (small, default or large)

  • I received a new updation .63.3mb.Incresed battery backup.Motorola can't avoid heating in different occasions.

  • Hope next gen of Moto z be a little smaller like 5 inch so I can buy it too

  • Just got it yesterday , very happy with it . It's very easy to use.

  • Can anyone tell me, is there an option to lower screen resolution? Thanks.

  • There is no screen backlight its Amoled screen. So lie at another place 😉

  • If moto avoid the heating, this is best phone

  • I can not find GPS in setting and I need to know how to activate GPS as I was requested by some applications to turn GPS on, please help me

  • Using it for a month....then i cant turn on wifi on my unit....sent it to service center and they say its a hardware issue...dont get replacement because its not on lenovo policy (really!!??)...its been two weeks and still no information about my unit..BTW im from indonesia

  • moto z premium looking smart phone battery 2600 mah small butt time is good & excelent same samsung galaxy s7 edge bettry timeing'

  • How is the battery life ? Doesnt battery capacity too small for a premium price.?

  • I got a new updation today.But I don't know what changes happening.

  • because of your anonymous comment and reasons? :) working like a charm for now!

  • Just dont

  • Don't! Bluetooth stopped working after 2 months, after one more month screen backlight died

  • Don't. Heating.while browsing, gaming,using camera in video mod. Low light camera not good.Low battery backup.Getting more more updation.no improvement.Fast and smooth.good looking,slim.

  • Pleas you must fixed the problem When i convert the youtube to mb3 the file can not open

  • I want to switch from iphone 6 to Moto Z... Any opinions ???

  • I switched from a Note 4 to the Moto Z. The Z is an excellent phone and greatly out performs the Note 4. I love the Z, great build quality, great performance overall. No issue with the battery lasting a full day of heavy usage. Pick up the Incipio offGrid Power Pack Moto Mod and the phone easily goes two full days! Awesome phone!

  • Ya, Lenovo developers are utterly failure.Every updation are failure.More more heating.low light pictures are no improvement.cant use camera in video mode by heat.

  • One month usage: Bad: no Miracast support.. very sad about it. No wifi calling menu option for international version Good: Even 2600mah battery, it lasts all day with heavy usage. Great screen and very thin, soo good. Don't heat in Nougat android Charge really fast Extra battery snap is great for two-day usage Projector snap work's flawless Strong signal Stable Faster than S7 for usual office mail usage, it's great and you feel easily the difference.

  • Motorola were good Cellphones until Lenovo took over now they are crap

  • Getting heating more more

  • I got a new updation today.61.mb.Some time hang.

  • Well, it sounds like to me you don't know what you are talking about "battery boy"

  • Did you sit on the phone?

  • Less than 90 days and the phone kept restarting. Blue tooth connectivity with car is intermittent at best. Then phone got real hot one day, wifi and blue tooth stopped working. Using refurbished warranty item now. Should not have traded in Samsung S5.

  • The Unit is to flimsy to carry in my cargo pants ,,,,it cracked while while sitting down. BUT I STILL HAVE TO KEEP PAYING FOR IT>>>>>

  • Moto Mods are pretty expensive. i.e. if i want a camera , instead of buying moto z for 700$ then another 299$ for Mod. I can buy a Nokia 3310 new one :) and can get Nikon or Cannon Semi Professional Camera with some good lens

  • It doesn't have FM Radio, even the Motorola radio app it isn't compatible with this device

  • how to lock messages to prevent from deleting accidentally?many thanks

  • Phone Baterry drain is verry fast and not hi-fi camera heating issue is verry bad

  • Obviouly 3T

  • In the case of camera G 5 is better.

  • OnePlus 3T or Honor 8

  • Thanks for the advice.... So u mean that I should stick to G5

  • Heating, battery drain fastly.Low light pictures not good.

  • Using LGG5 and quite happy with it...Planning on moving to Moto Z.... Any advice??

  • Efficiency of a battery is more important than its capacity. Also depends on how smart the user is. I have phones with 2000 mAh battery and it goes through whole day of usage ( WiFi,calls,SMS, mobile data ......) in a single charge. Don't make a joke of yourself by commenting about something you don't know.

  • Fantastic phone, definitely recommend!

  • Samsung galaxy s6 edge had the same battery anf it was a flagship , honestly i own the moto z and it performs very good just get the battery mod and done it will last 2 days or more

  • That's a trustfully comment. I experience the same good things. I own the Moto Z with Incipio Powerpack and the JBL Mods. But then planning to get the Insta-share, any comment?

  • Not a flagship phone.Battery drain fastly in daylight.Heating while charging, browsing, using camera, etc.Low light pictures not good.

  • Flagship with only 2600 mAh battery?? What a joke

  • Recently buyed and updated to nougat on XDA forum tutorial, rooted, working as I was lookin on other divices like Xperia Z5, Z4, what a waste of everithing... I use Incipio power bank by Moto Mods and I really have all the energy for 24 h with a lot of usage, my respects, What I only have to do is take care of this thin device working in construction...

  • galaxy s8 is coming out in a few days and will be available in march

  • Don't switch bad battery

  • Hello I can say that the Moto z is a very good device one thing is that you should get the battery mod with it because it has a 2600 mag battery but besides that it is a very and brilliant phone

  • Guys shall i switch from Samsung note 5 to moto z or not. Advice will be highly appreciated. P.s. battery lasting is crucial as i spend alot of hrs outdoors for work with data on

  • weak battery. 2600 isn't enough for half a day

  • why the offline video in youtube not avilable why the battery percent not avilable

  • Moto....icredible..!!

  • Moto Z can be compared in performance to now old Galaxy Note 5. I bough it only because the Mods and SD memory features. I regret the purchase, bought it in Shanghai and as a phone its practically useless to me. 90% of the Android available software doesn't work and can't be downloaded trough Google even with VPN. It seems that anything starting with G is blocked. I can't install Google Play Services, so that renders Google anything impossible to use. TG that I have Note 5 that allows me to do anything I please. I am using now Moto Z as paperweight. Thanks Lenovo and Motorola for nothing.

  • Picked this phone up on the Best Buy free deal ($9/mo payment plan, but verizon picks up the $9). Really happy so far with it, got to keep my UDP as well, so no complaints. Even with the lower than "standard" battery, it's better screen on time than my last phone (from 2010). So happy with that too. Super thin, even with a case, it's thinner than my wife's iphone 5s (not including her case)

  • Best phone. Style, low weight and smooth.Build in high quality.Slim, sleek and good looking.Good battery backup.Good camera, day light pictures very good.Low light not as good.Good graphics and good sensor.Top most brightness in sunlight and night. Moto well done.

  • O also. I got it yesterday

  • Definitely bought and updated noughat.Heating master.Daylight pictures no sharpness.Low light pictures very bad.Fast and smooth. Good looking.Battery drain fastly.

  • Best phone ever Definitely buy.

  • I have got noughat.Battery drain fastly, more than Marshmallow.Heating while charging, browsing and cannot use camera, video camera more than 2 minutes by heavy heating.Low light camera pictures aren't good like a 40k photo.

  • The Moto Z is a fantastic phone. I got Nougat in December 2016

  • High Heating and battery drain fastly when data in on.Dont buy Moto Z

  • Moto Z is not good . service station available but no body is knowing repairing . Do not buy this mobile

  • The unlocked model will receive nougat in february for everyone whining about it. Also they don't prioritize carrier updates the unlocked one didn't come out until months later and runs entirely different firmware. It'll take just as long to build nougat for the unlocked model as it did the carrier model, however the carrier model had a headstart.

  • I see a lot of bad opinions on behalf of this phone. I had Samsung S7 and I replaced it with Moto Z! Don't regret it at all. Battery life is excellent, with me, like on S7, have 3 h SOT on 50% battery on updated Nougat 7.0 unrooted phone! Before anyone post anything, it would be nice to try the phone and use it for a while. Charging is faster than on S7 by some 20 minutes. All in all, better and better looking phone. Front camera with a flash?? Excellent! Back camera?? Fantastic!!

  • After this updation more more heating. No benefits.

  • Hot phone by heating and don't buy.

  • I don't know what the improvement.

  • If get noughat, don't update.Noughat is utterly failure.

  • Got a new updation.

  • do you have the unlocked version? if you have then sorry to say you wont be having the update anytime soon.. they prioritize the carrier versions of this phone. the unlocked version is taken for granted. read the threads on

  • Dont buy this phone!! I have the unlocked version and still dont have android 7.0 update. still stuck in 6.0., Motorola will not roll out nougat update on unlocked Moto Z. dont buy. this phone. also please note that: - back camera scratches very very easily!! - battery life sucks! last only less than a day with average use. - my review on MODS that i have - JBL Sound Boost - sound is not that loud..sound quality sucks like it muffled.( after weeks of usage I realized I should have just bought a stand alone bluetooth speaker which is much louder and higher clartify for a lower or same price.. - Incipio battery pack - drains easily! drains easily- my phone is 3% battery and installed the incipio battery pack with full charge. it charged my phone to only 80% and the incipio battery pack is full drain 0%. bottom line: - no nougat update - JBL sound boost- not loud enough/ poor quality - ( just buy other regular bluetooth speakers - incipio battery pack- drains easily 2200mah?? for the same price u can buy 12000 20000mah battery pack

  • Moto Z camera very critical of movement. Droid Maxx takes much better quality pix. Z takes too long to stabilize, lot of blurring. Anyone else have that problem? Also could not get cover off to attach camera mod. Verizon refused to accept the return of camera mod. Was two days past return date on receipt and mod box never unpacked!!

  • Zplay best battery backup.Z is very low battery backup and high heating.Noughat is failure

  • In Moto Z we have no led notification

  • Battery very bad

  • First: You should have to apply VISA or Master credit card and then you can purchase online stores ( such as amazon....etc...). Most of the online store can provide the delivery to your country. Second: Open the packaging Third: Enjoy it .....

  • naugat is the latest android OS

  • Lenovo is owner of Motorola and you can try to find that item under Lenovo.

  • I am from Bangladesh. Here is not available Motorola phone so how can i buy this one? Anybody tell me.

  • What is this nughat updates? I know about Nougat, but is nughat something new android OS?

  • I want to know if this cellphone works in 700 Mhz (Banda 28). I live in Perú.

  • Don't update.No benefits in Nughat.Marshamallow is better.

  • If get don't update.please.

  • I have Moto Z, and I live in Europe, but I still dont get Nougat update... Is that normal, can anyone help me?

  • Bought this phone and updated nougut.Battery stand by time is good.If use Internet battery drain very fast, more more heating.Lenovo software engineers are utterly failure. They have no aim and cannot keep dignity of Moto phones.Motorola was best.Very sad.

  • Moto z force not available in my country. Bought z with more expectations.

  • Yes but no such as performance.Heating , low light pictures not as good.No change in Nughat.Disappointing.

  • Change Moto z for Moto z force there you get way better camera 23mp with excellent night shooting pictures and much better battery life 3500 mAh-Great pice of hardware in any aspect except IP68 water and dust resistance!!!

  • Xactlly

  • no

  • Hello can someone please what can I do to make the camera take pictures more faster I have a unlock Verizon version but every time I open the camera to take a pic most times it takes at least 3 second before it takes the pictures plz help

  • My Motorolas have outlived all my Nokias, even the infamous 3310, not that it would matter. I currently use a Razr HD (XT925) and it's served me for almost 4 years now. Only recently has it started rebooting and acting strange. Battery still works like new. Moto Z is the one I'm seriously considering to be my next phone.

  • Is there a LED notification built in ? Thx

  • By the way all the brand things not long life for 1 year, bcoz this moto z is coming gone on 1year no warranty no hrlp and cannot open .. i think nokia symbian is really best smart phone

  • Setting's are changed, more difficult in Nughat.M is Best. Don't update.

  • I got nughat.battery drain fast, more heating. No benefits by nughat.less camera clarity. More faster and smoother.

  • Android 7.0 works fine in moto z . Data saver . Multi window. Day dream. Powerful battery saver. Quick settings. Edit quick settings.. Different look.. Etc

  • Finally received Nought.Somethingless

  • Moto Z of course, compare

  • Moto z finally received 7.0 Android N

  • Moto z or Huawei P9? Thx

  • Music player is a big Zero.No sound.Clarirty and bass, treble. No ringing volume.

  • Yes my nexus 5x is upgraded to 7.1

  • Already roll out.

  • no .. i m waiting for nougat too ..

  • Any one got nougat in India?

  • This is Motorola's 2016 flagship phone.

  • Need In low light quality pictures, moto camzoom mod. Disappointed.

  • Features and Specifications are Best but performance as good as a Flagship phone.

  • Best phone by Motorola. Some bugs, hope will solve.

  • For listen music,Music mod but low quality mp3 player. For good picture,Camera mod but camera molarity.

  • It's newer, with almost TWICE the camera resolution compared to the S7 (21 MP vs a measly 12MP for the S7), plus it has a REMOVEABLE and BIGGER battery. It also take MotoMod accesories, unlike the sealed nature of the S7. All that inside the THINNEST smartphone as os this writing.

  • Why Motorola says this is a Flagship Phone. No such merits like S7 edge,Nexus 6p,Huwaei P9 and One Plus 3new.

  • Stunning look.Low battery with turbocharger is satisfied.Daylight camera picture no clarity, sharpness.Low lights bad picture.Heating while using camera, browsing and charging.Music player low quality but JBL speakers satisfied.Sometime screen brightness high levels, then heating, loose battery power. After 15 days use not completely satisfied.

  • Big check!

  • The Moto Z is very light and thin Everything is great except for the battery which has very low Mah but then with the turbo charger, the deficiency is well compensated. What is really great is u can snap onto its back a jbl sound booster... it makes this phone a monster!!! I' ve been using the phone for 3 weeks now. So far so good.

  • Cool....

  • Low battery, low light bad camera, pictures no clarify, heatig while using. Style, smooth.

  • I have an american verizon version of this phone. The moto z droid. I live in Ireland. Will it work in Ireland if I get the phone unlocked?

  • Please understand - I am not official person of Motorola - Z force was Verizon exclusive Hence, I don't know when will it be launched in India.

  • Price is very high.No value.Camera no sharpness and clarity.Stylish fast smooth.

  • Best phone.Fast smooth.

  • To aatif khan Will motorola be launching moto z force in india sometime later ( in the end of the year or early 2017) like it did with moto x force?

  • 11,3 mm according to specification of both: phone and incipio. Weight: 221g. That is quite a lot. This will fix poor baterry life but destroys coll thin phone look...

  • The Moto Z does not have FM radio, just to let you guys know. Other than that it is a fantastic phone, snappy, no bloatware and very thin.

  • Yes,Scratch by dust

  • Perhaps part of the caché is the slimness and weight of the phone.

  • YES - There is no doubt that Li-Ion battery is superior. Amazing specs of Moto Z. The Moto Z is a great phone. I think that for those who need a full-day battery life the Moto Z Play would be a much better choice.

  • Yes, I agree. There is no doubt that Li-Ion battery is superior. However, how can we compensate such a low "mAh"? I don't understand why Lenovo blends these amazing specs of Moto Z with a such a poor and non-removable battery? Don't get me wrong, the Moto Z is a great phone. Nevertheless, I think that for those who need a full-day battery life the Moto Z Play would be a much better choice.

  • Camera big space,so scratches.Be Care.

  • Hey I understand The con Is Battery Size ... But The Battery Is Li-ion and not Li-poly. Study the difference then u will know it. Li-ion has life and Li-Poly doesnt ... I still use my MOTOROLA RAZZR MAXX its been More than 5 Years and Still its battery works like a charm where My other phone Li-poly of 4000mah dies soon ...

  • 5566 basemark mark?? think thats wrong. very slim phone, but so display, cpu and 2500mah 3hours must be work?

  • does the european version of moto z have fm radio

  • Reset,may be some time

  • Having Bluetooth issues with my Moto z. Need help cannot see other Bluetooth devices.another issue wifi seems connected to mobile hotspots but no internet always.

  • How experience?

  • Mexican Moto Z got Nougat 7.0 update today

  • It's very light and fast. I moved on to this from a moto x-play. The battery seems to last just as long even though it's 1000mah smaller. Probably a more efficient chipset. The only thing that bugs me about it is the FM tuner is disabled. Guess they want consumers to stream everything nowadays. Also the moto mods are hard to come by and are too expensive for what they are. If price is an issue I'd recommend the Z-Play.

  • My z3 didn't overheat except if I play game for hours.BTW I'm not a fan of any brand I used to switch from one brand to another Samsung, htc, sony. Sony last longer among the 3(my z3 is 2yrs and 4mnths) and the besy now thinking to buy this one(pass my z3 to my younger bro). I want and honest review from a real user not from a fanatic

  • Gorgeous performance

  • Are you comparing it with the z.How many years it has been released while moto z has just been released.. I thought I'll find some sensible answer but you people are hopeless

  • Whoever is complaining about the heating on the Moto Z, let me just say it's nothing compared to the "Xperia Z" models. It clears rather fast and you won't feel it with a mod. The battery is small, but the phone comes at a minimum thickness. The "TurboCharge" can help when there is a connection nearby, else there's the Incipo Battery Mod. Only thing I'm disliking at the moment is the incompatibility with Smart Tvs, because of Mirracast.

  • Battery life is horrible. What's good to be that thin?

  • Who knows which is the final thickness of the phone + the incipio battery pack Mod?

  • 5.2 mm thickness. Now, that wasn't so hard, was it?

  • Moto z is better

  • not a lot of battery

  • Good looking, fast and smooth.Camera pictures daylight is good, but low light is bad,no sharpness and clarity.High heating.

  • Thank you... Bro..

  • Nexus 6p bro...

  • Yes. Bigger battery and water resistant would convince me too

  • bigger battery and water resistant and u have a customer for life

  • I would like to see the specs on the camera sensor size on the built in main camera and the optional add on back that everyone keeps stirring up hoopla about. How good is this thing for taking night photos of say the milky way in RAW format (is this even possible?) with little or no flash?

  • Highly heating,if use back Shell feels normal

  • Normal heating,I hope will solve next updating.

  • Wat about the heating issues?

  • No doubt,Motoz

  • Hi, I want to purchase a good phone. I have two options:- 1 - Nexus 6p 2 - Moto z I like Moto z design and spce. but I heard, this phone have some heating issues. Plz help me. Which is the best one?

  • Hi, I want to purchase a good phone. I have two options 1 - Nexus 6p 2 - Moto z Which is the best phone. Plz help me.

  • Very impressive and good looking.lbought it.Best performance.

  • Yes, 5,2mm thickness is very impressive and the specs are not bad. I hope many people will buy it because of that.

  • One can buy very good laptop for the price of this cell phone...

  • 5.2 mm thickness.

  • Best performance in all

  • Yes, there is a power pack battery mods with 2220 mAh. For $59.99 (USD)?!? I like Moto phones, but I think that 2600mAh battery it is a joke. A few years back a 2600mAh battery would be one of Pros, but today that size is a CONS. Much cheaper phones like Zenfone Max or some chines phones offer much more for a fraction of that price.

  • I believe there's an additional module/thing/whatevs-the-attachments-are-called that acts as an extra battery of sorts. Still. Wtf with those strong specs but such a weird battery. It's like they're not even looking at the phones already in the market. Like, Zenfones have some damn juiced specs but shutass battery power so you really do end up having to charge it once a day.

  • $699 for this phone??? too much high price. I think maximum $350 will be a good price for this phone

  • why the crap for all these phones having non-removable batteries they need to fix that s*** seriously

  • Any one got Android N?

  • I'm guessing within a few months they'll have to drop the price on this device like a rock. $699 US with offers for essentially free mods (at least as of now - the camera and the projector) isn't going to cut it. Hey, Motorola (Lenovo) hardly anybody wants the camera or projector. Got that? If anything people want a decent price on the phone and specials on the speaker and power mods. Sure, Moto, you had $150 US off a little while ago, but you're going to have to try harder. Try $499 US. Moto - if you don't do that then you're going to have piles of these devices sitting in warehouse storage. It's that simple. It's a very nice device and has cool features, but you just don't have the marketing power of Apple or Samsung to expect that $699 US price.

  • A 5.5" phone, snapdragon 820 for over $600 with only 2600mAh battery!?!? Hilarious! Do they sell a combo with a free power bank? Or it meant to be a pocket phone?

  • i hope that see motorola in top 5 brand and grow up every day.unfortunately many excellent brands like "moto" or "htc" seat at corner and may liar and awful brand like samsung and many chinesse brands at the top of market sellers. those companies are cheatting people with advertising and push people to buy their awful gadgets. i like to see motorola and htc near to copertino giant and in top5 in market and.... and those wrote lies about motorola, for sure are samsung or chinesse brands fans.

  • For how many decades Motorola disappeared? Do you understand what is a decade? Decade means 10 years. Commercial / civilian mobile industry is nearly 2 decades old (20 years). Motorola has been one of pioneer in the industry.except few years of debacle, it was never out of business. Moto X,G, E have been great devices in past years. If you say away for decades,it would mean that Motorola was never in market ,which is approximately only 2 decades old.

  • Did you miss the moto g and the moto e and will the new moto g's ???

  • Maybe, just MAYBE it is because the phone is thin? DID THAT OCCUR TO YOU? How much thought does that take?

  • Motorola disappeared for decades, now they wake from the dead and demand double for device price. Ridiculous...

  • Small battery for this phone

  • Hi, It seems it has no OTG support

  • It has no FM. I make believe on the specification on moto z here gsmarena. It was realy frustrating.

  • I have this phone and I think it is great

  • I have this phone and, at least my version, does not include FM Radio.

  • buy a powerbank maybe?!!

  • My friend bought a Moto Z a month ago and his magnets on the back wore out and when he put on a mod it just fell off. Motorola needs to do a recall right away or else my friend bought a faulty unit.

  • you get a new phone... duhhhhhh

  • If you're looking to spend this much money on a phone then you will replace it before that happens.

  • Had me until you got to non-removable battery. What am I to do when it runs out and I cannot recharge?

  • i was hoping your new phone would have two speakers on the front

  • India has a dual sim version.

  • is it a single sim or dual sim phone?

  • so nice, thank you for ur valuable suggestions ..... khuda hafiz

  • I would personally request you to wait till Xiaomi Mi4 prime and Note 2 are launched in India. MIUI though modified,it is still 'lightweight' and due to good RAM management it gives pleasant user experience.

  • If you can spend 40k,Moto Z is best one. Always prefer Motorola due to nearly stock Android ( next to Pixels and Nexus) However, you can choose as below as numbered. 1- Moto Z play first. But Xiaomi Redmi 4 prime (yet to launch in India)is same as Z play at 1/3rd the price. Except AMOLED display, screen size and camera, its all similar. Xiaomi has beefy battery. 2- Xiaomi Mi Note 2- currently not available in India, but hopefully will be launched soon. 3- blackberry dtek50 - similar to z play, but with blackberry security. 4- One+3 T - will be launched soon 5- Xiaomi Mi5- if you are in hurry to buy then this is best choice. 6- if all above options fail, opt for LG G5 first and then Huawei last. Hopefully this helps.

  • ok no issue, can u tell me best 5 fons which r available or upcoming in 2016 between 22k - 35k, mention top to lower model name only description not required .... waiting ur reply dear

  • It is in 4 parts and may occupy whole page on this forum.

  • With so many options and it's analysis,I think my reply will be too lengthy. And this being specific forum for Moto Z, I don't know if it would be appropriate. I would love to help, but I don't know how coz it will be a lengthy post.

  • hello aatif, i read ur views which r really technical sound so i need ur help .... which mobile is best upto inr 35k. z play/1+3T/xiaomi mi note 2/a9 pro/lg g5/huwei or any other ..... thnx a lot

  • If the cache is kept clean on any Android you won't have problems. TouchWiz is a very heavy UI.. If you use another launcher like Google's you will have a better experience on a Samsung phone. The hardware is some of the best made.

  • screen mirroring will not work in moto z ... tried casting but showing no devices found but my htc mobile working fine with my TV . Pl help to sort this issue

  • yes dual also

  • Look specificatios

  • is it dual sim?

  • You are right

  • Nice phon yrrr. I love....this.

  • Go to settings, sounds and notification and then you will get options for volume bar for all sorts of sounds. And yes don't forget to use volume button for increasing or decreasing the volume. Are you using such phone for first time?

  • I am not able to increase notification volume of my moto Z..

  • Greatest Response EVER!

  • Use the volume up button

  • I can't able to increase the volume of my moto Z. How to increase the volume of it.

  • Because modern Moto phones don't lag after 2 months. That's why I don't buy from Sammy.

  • My guess is they're not trying to go head-to-head with the S7 series. Motorola is vying for a slightly different customer base - those looking for a decent sized screen, low weight, thinness and mods. With the thinness of course it sacrifices battery capacity. From the bit I've read, the battery endurance isn't too bad, but not super, either. So, the numerous trade-offs are there, perhaps for differentiation.

  • Sometimes i dont understand why a phone company would release a phone with a shit battery, but put in top of the line specs. Why would i want to buy this instead of a s7 or s7 edge? Doesnt make any sense.

  • Dhakkan, I am using this phone and I know it's powers and efficiency since it came to me for protoype testing ,but have you ever seen it beyond its pictures? Do you know what is prototype testing?

  • Genius, Have you understood what I have commented? I am not saying 2600 is less. I replied to the guy who was questioning 2600 power. I told him if he feels 2600 less there ee other options. Stupid first understand what is written, before you call others stupid. Dhakkan.

  • lol.. 2600 mAh doesn't mean that it won't last long. First use a phone before commenting stupid

  • Indian units are made in india (Tamil Nadu) So it's not a difficult task to made

  • Will get back case covering camera lens . If not will scratch.

  • Keeping in mind the requirements of Indian customers, it is released in dual sim. But everywhere else it is single sim + dedicated SD card slot. But for India they have converted SD card slot into hybrid one to accommodate second sim. but just curious about few things, 64 GB on board is enough. Plus it supports OTG and can also b connected to computer via data cable.required data can always be exchanged. Plus is it that we are going to use huge data in GB at same time? Why are we so much bothered about SD card? Are you looking to buy a phone or a hard drive with calling facilities?

  • No.. 2600 more than enough since it is using 820 with dsp . Pl have a look on this processor well optimised

  • 2600 more than enough and it is using Snapdragon 820 with DSP WHICH IS WELL OPTIMISED .

  • absolutely...no

  • Is this an Hybrid sim? or Dual + Dedicated MicroSD slot? GSMArena mentioned dedicated slot but on flipkart it's hybrid?

  • Yes. That's all they can fit in thin body. But you have 3 options, if 2600 is not enough - buy Z force version. It has 3510 mAh battery - buy battery mod if Moto Z. It will give you another 2200 mAh battery. Total will be 4800 mAh. - if you feel 2600 mAh is too less for money you pay for phone, please buy Moto E3 Power. It's only INR 7999 and you get 3500mAh juice. Primary function of phone remains same ( calls, messages, emails), immaterial of 40000/- or 7999/-

  • 2600 mAh only?

  • Yes... It is optimised . Pl have a look for 820 processor with DsP

  • It is optimised . Pl have a look for 820 processor with DsP

  • Moto G is midranger, while Moto Z is a flagship. Plus SD 820 is 'cool' SoC.hence you cannot compare G series and Z series. Plus any handset will tend to get WARM ( not HEAT) due to following reasons: - using while turbo charging - covering up with thick and sturdy skins/ shells ,other than Moto skins.these prevents dissipation of warming to some extent.

  • I want to know moto z is getting heat while charging.? Same prblm in last moto g phones.... So please rply me.. i want to buy moto z......

  • yes moto G is hard duty

  • It's 2600mah =)

  • 3500 mAh inside a 5.2 mm thin phone?? lol

  • i have the Motorola g and it the first gen and it the best phone ever.I like the 1.3mp camera its the best and it beat apple and Samsung and Motorola g is very strong

  • Who did they copy? I'm assuming you mean Apple but this phone was released in June 2016 in the US, where the iPhone 7/7Plus didn't release until September.

  • So yeah, I just opened one of those and.... No AUX, as stupid as it's sound, they "copied" (the already extra-turbo dumb) decision to get rid of A B A S I C feature.

  • MOTOROLLA Is Realy Launch Wonderful Smartphone Ever Moto Z Is a Really Amazing Smartphone Wow .....

  • Please ignore the Above post. Suppose to post it for Lenovo phones.

  • All Lenovo smartphones are crap in the present technical scenario. They are not ready to provide any updates , most crucially the Volte update. I fear even this Phone does not have Volte Support.

  • Again Battery lose the race of current phone race. so user will lite the power backup for sure.

  • I have one today im returning it soon. The reason for this is that it does not have buttons the replacement for this is the navigation bar. Tho it works similarly to the buttons on most phones it also takes up an odd amount of the screen and has no setting in the base phone to change any part of it. Leading to it being constantly the brightest part of my screen. It feels like that part of the phone was not thought out. The most prominent awswer would fix this issue was to root your phone so that you can change this how ever rooting your phone might ruin its warranty.

  • revolutionary smart phone with awesome gadgets called mods

  • why??

  • Compare to this moto z, OP3 is far better both design and specs...

  • Recommended, Good job Moto, best pricing will beat all the odds for sure

  • correct, and see the battery 2006 with Super Amoled

  • all specification is good except its Battery MAH. It should be at least 3500 MAH with this kind of specification.

  • Why all Motorola mobile don't have IR (Infrared Blaster) feature??

  • Moto Z Unlocked version is compatible with T-Mobile band 12.

  • Don't buy

  • not so.. good in performence.due to high pixel density it lags at playing assasian creed's:identity

  • No T-Mobile LTE band 12, Motorola can keep their damn phone.

  • Price should be around 32000 rupees.if it's more than that I am not going to buy.

  • Qi charging is not supported out of the box, but is available in select extended battery mods.

  • Does this phone sport Qi charging? @GsmArena - you should put Qi charging as a separate property in your specs... please!?

  • what wea

  • I pre-ordered em, can't wait

  • does it come unlocked?

  • I have been with this this Sony Z5 for over 3 months now, just one of the longest I have kept a phone since these boring full touchscreen started. It is because of waiting for all these devices to come out to choose which one to buy, the last being the new Nexus/google/pixel phones. This has caught my eye and gone on the list but if I select Moto Z it will have to come down in price. I also want to congratulate you on your iPhone comment. :)

  • Get a Incipio Battery Mod and you won't have to worry about the battery size...that is the whole idea. Anyway, I was curious enough to get one and it arrived today. First off the battery seems to last well and I have ordered a battery mod which should arrive tomorrow. Commercially, it is a bit of a rip off but who cares as it is still almost half the price of an iFruit 7 Plus. Before you even go there, I can afford an iPhone but stopped buying them after the 6 Plus due to the restrictions as a function of the locked down eco system which simply does not work for me. Looks like I will keep this, sell my Nexus 6P and get the Pixel XL (depending on memory size - anything less than 128GB is a No, No).....Exciting times!

  • why Lenovo... why ruin the design with that stupid square ... : P

  • Looks like Moto has tried to keep the body slim, but imo it's not feasible to place such low battery in a phone with such a huge screen. At least a removable one can have been placed.

  • with SD 820 battery size should be at least 3000 mAh or above, Camera maybe 16 MP, but with other features hoping this will perform a better camera. But still Its looks a promising smartphone.

  • Cause you get a choice, there are version of Moto Z with the jack, and without.

  • Avalliable on Brazil! :)

  • Why there is no hate because there is no 3.5 mm dac like iPhone?

  • There's mid and high end

  • It has to be on front to allow for mods

  • There's 3 of them so pick the 1 that fits you financially

  • I feel the same as you I had Moto's years ago gave up with flip phones & came back with smartphones as I think moto are strong reliable phones never had a problem with any of them

  • I'm using moto g4 plus & after 1 day you don't notice the fps on the front

  • When you purchase the moto z you will get an adapter supplied with it

  • There's a mod that is for extra battery better than power bank as you can recharge the mod unlimited number of times but can only recharge a battery bank a couple of times

  • Moto phones are fantastic I bought the g4 plus on day 1 had heating on 1st use set it up plugged in set play store to auto update over wifi only did other things till updates were completed that solved the heating issue get updates regularly never had any problem's since

  • I have moto g4 plus & it has moto branding

  • I have used moto since moto g2 & never had any heating issues

  • We need to ban the Motorola. They think we are unable to buy this mobile so they have not release it in same date on the day of release of international market. They make it price very high. They can't thik the pulse of Indian market.

  • Moto z or moto z force coming in single sim or dual sim

  • $720? Are you Nuts?

  • we usually took 2-3 months to buy any new mobile after its launch so that we can get its reviews (actual reviews after using for at least a month or two)... So if u want to buy any such mobile as soon as it is launched outside India u can ask your friends or relatives to buy it there as it will costs less as compared to Indian market... U can get it within a month with a less price... :-)

  • its lik our country is not independent ,nthing reaches dis country first after 4 to 5 monthsgting released in odr cntry, we will get that phone in this country......moto z and z force release date still a mystry

  • when is it getting released in India!!??

  • price should be 48k INR.....

  • its just finger print scanner

  • Its camera look like YU yutopia camera

  • It has only a 2600mAh battery because it have a "Module" to expand your battery :D

  • may i khow its price and is that finger print scanner a home button or else just finger print scaner

  • Wow..the thinnest smartphone ever made

  • 2600mAh ?? Why not 3630mAh ?? (moto x play)

  • The problem is not Moto's. If you lived a bit closer than 100kms from the nearest cell tower you wouldn't have that problem.

  • The author and many users make the mistake of not understanding their own biases. They use their phone a lot and think only in those terms. There are people like myself though who find phones useful but have better things to do than have their nose in their phone all day. For us you can't get real work done on a phone but we want to have it handy for when it's needed. In that sense this phone is perfect. Its slimness make it very portable and unintrusive yet functional with a large screen. Battery life isn't critical but on long trips the attachable batteries are a lifesaver. The lack of a headphone port is irrelevant except in that it lets the phone be slimmer. Carrying around a fatter phone becuase of a port that hardly ever get used would be annoying. This is a great phone for grown ups.

  • I think you haven't use Lenovo branding Vibe devices and Lenovo Moto devices there is a lots of difference between Lenovo Vibe smartphone and Lenovo Moto smartphone. And for your kind information Lenovo own branding smartphone fails to create any magic. Then after Lenovo gave it's smartphone to Moto for the supervision as Moto have its own R & D division now Lenovo will concentrate over Laptop and Tablet only.

  • Yes their battery drains very fast and heats up too.worst mobile company

  • The s7 and s7 edge has those specs. Are those 'mid-range' phones

  • For those people having problem with moto mobile. There is a bug that keeping the phone awake (you can check it under battery). You can fix it by Setting > apps > show system apps > reset the app preference and restart the mobile or just reset the mobile. It works for me on my moto x style.

  • Moto cannot be compared with samsung, htc and apple.. bcos after it became lenovo moto, It falls in the same range like op3,mi5 and le max 2.. so price shud be around 25 - 27k .. if its more,, then its flop.. already lot of complaints for g4 and g4 plus.. moto lost the brand name nowadays after lenovo acquired..

  • Moto is worst mobile. too much of heating and battery draining very fast. Pls go for better mobiles .avoid moto

  • Bluetooth headset or Usb Type C

  • Moto mod is there 10000 mAh

  • Plz don't compare Moto with One Plus 3,Mi 5 ,Le Eco max,Its a Moto Brand compare it with high end Smartphone with a big brand like Samsung Galaxy 7 & 7 Edge,HTC 10,Sony Z.

  • Actually 2600 mAh battery is more than enough to push Motorola fan (if they exist) to other mobile manufacturers.

  • Wait for the moto z play 2016 with snapdragon 625 and 3gb ram.also it has 3500 mah power battery...just hoping that Motorola will launch it soon...maybe 4th week of july

  • i want to suggest one thing to moto .........if we purchase the 5000 phone or 18000 phone they provide the same headphone so i would like to inform please take care about accesory also it is effect on the mobile market

  • My moto x+1 with fullhd and 5.2" have 2600 mah and 3 hours on screen...the moto z will do only 2 hours on screen. :-(

  • Totally agree! :-)

  • 2600mah is not enough.

  • are they providing quick charge

  • 3.5 mm to USB-C headphone adapter incl.

  • Most likely a USB-C connector cable to a stereo jack.

  • i've used nearly 6 brands, only one which stood last for ever as my trust is motorola, and i cannot say apple was bad but its os is likely to go boring day after days. and 1 plus is also good but some unconvincing disparities(like charging cable which also serves as data cable has a different pin which will be hard to find & even no power bank comes with such pin) makes it consider an alien, other that this its a good one.

  • How can i connect the Headphone to the mobile! It seems that there wont be female port audio jack plug available with the mobile!

  • Battery mod. Ohh. What about the cases. I Want A Case That Can PROTECT The phone and mod from falls

  • It is the better option for you. Really the moto z is great for me and I will be buying the battery case. It will be cheaper than the z force. But it is to the buyer not the individual who believes what is good for everyone

  • The Z Force is bigger battery better options phone.

  • does it support slimport or mhl??? i hope it does!!!

  • I hope so, but I doubt it. I have emailed GSM to ask them to confirm the specifications but the don't reply. I miss the FM radio.

  • can any tell me that moto z can support fast charging & only 2600 mah battery?what about battery life?

  • 3.5mm jack should be done here.....

  • It will make sense if would be cheaper than OnePlus 3

  • i dont know what is lenovo doing with motorola brand this is the best time to release this phone in markets ,there is no flagship mobile coming to markets by a major competitor . If the release it today it will be awesome deal & moto could gain good market share but in sept. samsung note flagship , iphone 7 series will come out thus motorola could face problems . I dont know what was there in lenovos mind to announce a phone so early & start sales 2-3 months prior .....

  • Moto Z Fm radio available or not

  • I lov this phone,, bttttt moto g4 plus s mst mobile phone....

  • No dual sim according to their website.

  • If the phone price is in between 20 - 28 K that would be a real Flagship killer and people go for it. While formulating the price range Motorola should keep that strategy to gain lead in smartphone sector. People are conscious about price ,specification and brand.

  • does it support dual sim?

  • its so nice,,,,,but prise is so costly...

  • Hope It Will Come Out When Not Very Expensive Bt The Phone Is Real Awesome According To The Released Specs

  • how do u know that camera quality is good? this phone hasn't launched yet.

  • moto z phone when r u relesing this mobile

  • It's not the square home button. It's finger-touch sensor

  • comes with moto mods

  • Rear camera bump will be gone when you connect any Moto Mod to the back. The device is designed to be used with Moto Mods.

  • waiting for its release

  • The phone is very beautiful , made me think about migrating the Note line for Motorola

  • actually they've included usb c to 3.5mm jack adapter

  • Don't like the rear camera bump nor the square home button.

  • Android OS, v6.0.1 (Marshmallow) Chipset Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 CPU Dual-core 2.15 GHz Kryo & dual-core 1.6 GHz Kryo GPU Adreno 530 ''mid range specs'' come on, really??? XD, aaand the desing is awesome, love it! :v

  • no 3.5mm jack? are you serious????

  • i loved the phone its not ordinary like others.i am gonna buy as soon as it is avalible in middel east

  • This phone is just Amazing. At first I though "what moto maker is gone??" but then a saw the specs of it being so thin and having snap on modularity, its awesome ,my most favorite module is the snapOn wood cover and the JBL speaker

  • wow! phone is superb but price is to high as compare to one plus 3 , mi5,leeco max2 if phone launch about 25 k then its a great and real flagship killer

  • moto upcoming device Moto z & force both of phone are good, both i can't understand tht y they made it single sim phone, i am vry up set, becz this features they miss it wil effect this new device

  • first ever smartphone (pocket PC) didn't had 3.5 mm stereo jack, in motoZ 's case advantage would be the 3.5mm micro USB cum OTG gonna be very fast... indeed cos it have to support motomod modules

  • Damnnn! If this phone will be 5.2mm thin then I'm getting it! But i still love my Huawei P9.

  • no otg no FM no NFC no dual sim surprised a bit.

  • Than don't buy it, simple as that and no 5.5" isn't to big Its all about choices, so why do you find it necessary to tell us, us being those who like big phones, that it's to big.Again, if you don't like something, move on, posts like yours do nothing but wastes the readers time. I mean really, what do you expect to happen, oh, well this guy said it was to big so screw that, no, of course not.

  • QHD

  • First look at the phone and it's easy to see that the motorola moto z of the best looking phone. The device sport 5.5-inch full HD display. Camera quality is also good.I just love this phone. Very nice features and complete package.

  • design so cool, i just love this phone

  • Shud be dual SIM

  • Very good features and complete package.. I expect same features but 5" 1080p display. Anybody knows price details??

  • What u said is practically doesn't make much sense. Even Samsung galaxy s7 has the same SD820, AMOLED. And 3000mAh battery. As per the gsmarena battery test it gives 14 hours video watching, 9 hours web browsing and 22hours talk time and endurance rating of 80 hours. Moto z has 2600mAh battery. So we can't expect something more than this. So battery life will not be great like you tell. This is just direct view. Finally it depends on software optimization. It is 5.1mm thick. So it will not affect battery life directly out of the box. Attaching power banks doesn't come free of cost and need extra efforts. So i don't think people who are saying battery capacity is less are not wrong. Battery should be more than 3000mAh.

  • i know right

  • If they placed it on the back you wouldn't be able to access it when you put on a mod or back cover. for the modular design they chose the front was the only place that made sense

  • This is probably the same samsung camera sensor as ZUK Z2 pro? That would be good... I need more specs on that camera!

  • minimum battery must be 3000mah and above the problem will be charge storage

  • wow, i love how thin it is. but, what the heck is wrong the UI control?? navigation bar and physical button? if that's fingerprint than why u put it on the front motorola? why? it make this phone really UGLY, oh god

  • what do you think the price might be???? im waiting for moto z play..

  • what do you think of the price range might be???? im waiting for the moto z play hope it has better batery and same camera module

  • I have an iPhone 6s plus but i think, apple can never beat samsung , because samsung is top on the world now , i think I wasted my money on iPhone 6s plus , galaxy s7 edge is much better than 6s plus...

  • Im a big fans of motorola since V3 until motorola G (first generation) but now ??? not at all, 2600 mAh in the years of 2016 ????

  • Again a very different phone and concept by Motorola. I have always appreciated design variety from Motorola (better than those imitators of iPhone ).like or hate it, but you can't ignore it. Samsung copies design from iPhone and uses Nokia patents for making their handsets. Design wise apple,Motorola, blackberry,Sony and xiaomi(yes) are more original than anyone else. Regarding battery performance, it is important to have more efficiency rather than more capacity.

  • You want more battery pony up $99.99 for the battery module.

  • Minimum 3000 battery is must.

  • What's price??

  • for some reason my instinct says ppl will skip moto z for ever!!!

  • Wow!!! Great effort Moto. Although I never like any of Motorola phone just because of its fatty body. First time I am impressed. Willing to buy. Will anyone plz tell me its price? Battery back will be not that much good, even then I am interested to buy just because of its slimness. And what is an alternative of 3.5 mm jack?

  • screen 5.5" 2K with Battery 2600mAh only ?? You Need a PowerBank 20000 mAh

  • To each his own... it might be a tad too large for those with Donald hands (any references to Donald Trump are purely intentional) but I would personally not use it for plowing, though you're welcome to if you find that effective :) This is certainly not a phone for tiny princess hands and definitely not for those whose preferred phone is Derek Zoolander's flip phone ;P

  • Yeah its motorola time now, making the phone uglier by putting the fingerprint scanner on the front... Smart Motorola

  • What's price??

  • Nobody is going to pay extra for these Mods 'specially if they're pricy. And I'm not willing to carry around an adapter so screw that, headphone jack is a no-brainer dude.

  • I know all about the various modular attachments and IDC they still should've added a bigger battery in there, they did it for the Z Force which I'm sure is much more expensive. Not everyone cares or will use or pay for Moto Mods.

  • From where we can get usb c type earphones

  • you use the phone for plowing?..

  • hmm beautiful

  • That's true for certain people only.

  • I'm hating all your comments about the battery size: - it has a low energy consumption processor - although the screen is QuadHD, AMOLED needs less energy to work, since not all the pixels are on (in the blacks the pixels don't turn on) - THE PHONE IS 5.2mm THICK!!! and it will have power bank modules!

  • wtf ????.? 2600 mah. it's a joke

  • sometimes these phone companies make us fool.2600 mah battery with 5.5 inch screen with amoled screen. i dont like it.

  • Wow!!!! Love the design

  • I wanna see that Moto Z camera perform and tested, gsmarena. Please.

  • I want one, at last someone genuinely thinking outside the box and returning Android handsets to what they should be. A real alternative to Samsung, HTC, Sony and Apple all copying one another. I wonder what LG are thinking now, their modular G5 looks outdated compared to this.

  • who is going to buy all add ons, firstly not freely avail, costing more than actual set. No use for any other model, useless, just cell wud cost 600$+. idea of cheap set is gone. No resale, lets see 3rd qtr

  • The Moto Z has everything I want in my next phone. Just hope it's not too expensive cause the modules will not be cheap.

  • Dual sim?

  • Yes, but then it wont be slim.

  • Despite the small battery, I'm strangely drawn to this phone. It seems moto phones still have that charisma. Samsung phones never had that effect on me. Despite owning an S2, S3 and S6.

  • 2600mah hmmmmmmmmm

  • Samsung fanboy, Motorola use modulars at the back of the phone that's why the fingerprint sensor come that the front. No need to copy on Samsung because it's Motorola time now.

  • I am wondering why people are complaining about this phone while they is a adaptor to 3.5mm and the Bluetooth can still link the sounds in many ways throughout sounds devices. And for the battery 2600 isn't it far from 3000mah with a mature OS Android 6.0.1 that will be capable of giving u a full day with a moderate use without modular annexed. Still you can add a modular to boost your power. Maybe some Samsung hater coming around to hate on a better device ever made.

  • wow the gold is very beautiful

  • First learn about the device, then post. Its a modular device and can be modified to our needs. This includes a better battery. 3.5mm jack, well you are will be given an adapter and you can make use of it

  • seems like lenovo surviving motorola again

  • read again about the mod, thanks

  • pls dude, it have power pack mod and 3.5mm adapter

  • How thick is the power pack module?

  • The battery is 2600 because the 5.2 think ..... it's the best phone ever

  • Lmao this phone is laughable, all that and only a 2600 mAh battery in return? No 3.5mm headphone jack is just the icing on this unpalatable cake.

  • Great. What remains of the "thinnest flagship phone", then?

  • And what about 3.5m jack ?boring

  • 5.2 mm thick!!! that's why..

  • What the hell moto 5.5 inches????? 2600mah??????

  • they have a battery module which can attach at the backside of the phone and can at least give battery backup upto 4050 mAh Thankyou

  • Please increase the battery capacity .3000 will b better

  • 2600mAH damm !

  • lithium ion battery are u serious .. dammm .. use lithuim polymer

  • no headphone jack? game changer!

  • Why that small battery? ...

  • pls it's a modular phone guys, if you need more power, there's a power pack that add 2200mah without turning off this device.

  • I want a moto mod with a 13mp 1.33micron camera( galaxy s7/s7 edge camera) & headphone jack

  • There are more than just one type of magnet you know...

  • Only problem with Samsung is that they don't know how to make proper software...

  • Okey, but wouldn't that add to size and price?

  • imagine how many device they can create with this MOTOMODS...a powerbank, a projector, a speaker, a DSLR.....that thing is like a USB connector. It can fit into almost anything. Can't wait for what they might bring in the future.

  • My zenfone 2 (5.5 inch) fits perfectly in my pockets and my hands so does my friend's s7 edge

  • price??

  • no, 5.5 inches is not too big. it may be for you and for some others, but the world doesn't revolve around you.

  • I'm just a little worried about that battery... I guess they will make a battery modular that you will have to pay extra for sigh

  • My next secondary phone

  • septmber release seems late

  • I wonder how the compass sensor works with all those magnetic attachment accessories.

  • Someone please tell motorola to reduce the size of this phone to at least 4.7" screen size. 5.5" screen size too big and will most likely be very easy to crack screen if the phone falls down.

  • I agree, I miss the fm radio and it's disabled on most flagship models, my only concern is the 5.5" screen in a body that's only 5.2 mm, I think it is likely to bend. I can't understand why the radio is disabled on the Motorola Z Force, crazy decision!

  • What about android auto /mirrorlink support???

  • Lets see how durable it is & what's the price?

  • 2600mAh? That is why Samsung is back at the top. They seem to understand the market needs; they've upped the battery in all their devices and they are now arguably the most endurance heavy devices on the market - look at the s7 edge or a9 (2016) or a9 pro or even a5 (2016)...going from an iphone 6 to an s7 edge like i've done is like going from 3 charges a day with a boring device to a 2 days-1charge device with brill and smooth OS...

  • It use a USB C headphone adapter, means you plug in an headphone adapter to it's USB C port, then plug in your earphone to it's adapter.

  • i believe this phone have every thing i wanted from radio to awesome display to micro sd card, good design, good camera. everything and super thin, the battery isnt an issue 4 me as i carry powerbank everywhere. i have galaxy s6 and but i getting this as soon as i can

  • If u got money go for axon7. That's such a gorgious phone.

  • The bezel on the bottom is ridiculously big. And the fingerprint button is so freaking dumb. They could've just used slim button like samsung or could've just simply used fingerprint senso on the back.

  • This specs still costs 30K plus in september but not more than 40K

  • this power pack mod is has Dimensions 152.7 x 73.5 x 6.2mm ..... if we put this phone will be too thick.. its like carring 2 phone in a pocket...

  • This page specs says it got FM Radio, but it does not have a headphone jack. So, how does it tune, if traditionally it requires a headphone jack as an antenna?

  • Get the Moto Z Force if you can

  • Motomods, nice concept,gr8 innovation. Lenovo really changed the world of mobile. This will be available from september globally, starting price range may be between 20-25k INR. It will be good if they provide a model like moto x play last year between price range 17-20k with qualcom 600 series ,so that it can be affordable.

  • Haters please look up into the concept of moto mods that are being announced with this phone. They are the speciality of this flagship model.

  • read this please.. it is said that "...We tested the Power Pack Mod, which adds 2,220mAh battery and is conveniently displayed in the settings menu as an external source of energy..."

  • I am confused which one to buy! Moto z or Axon 7. Anyone any suggestion ? Both will be of same price range.the only difference between the two is that ..Axon 7 has better battery, camera, beautiful build quality, better front facing Dolby atmos speaker which is better than HTC boom sound, but weight is too much with 185. Both has near stock Android experience.both will get quick android N update.Anyone any suggestion????

  • The idea behind the small battery and the absence of the 3.5mm jack is that the phone is just 5.2mm thick! Or thin I should say. So now you can get a crazy sexy, thin smartphone and when you need that extra power, just snap on the external battery. I really like the idea.

  • 2600 mAh battery?! At least 3300 - 3500 mAh, because that's what the Moto X play had and more.

  • Which world are you living in? You expect this phone for 12000? Then you don't know anything about phones. This is a flagship phone. The specs are flagship. There's no way on Earth it sells for 12k.

  • vivo x5max thinner than this and still have the headphone jack.

  • I would seriously buy this phone if it were not for that battery. honestly, why buy that considering USB c headphones will suck battery juice like a truck!?

  • i think dis is good phone but plz price not more than 12000

  • Good invention. I hope that they keep on progress on what they doing. The MotoMods can be the key for many more invention.

  • I think the bezzel below the screen is too wide caused by moto branding and fingerprint scanner. Looks ugly sometime, oopss

  • Why wud I want to spend hundreds of dollars on a new phone with 2600 battery only to be forced to spend more money on a battery pack accessory? I'll keep my Moto X Pure edition 2015 for another year...

  • BTW, this phone have no headphone jack.

  • first battery size which will work 3 - 31/2 hrs only then ......

  • QHD screen battery 2600 mah ....moto design team pls stop the joke. ... raise the price, increase the size and weight......doesn't matter but battery should be 4000 mah here. please try to understand............ small things r not bearble and resultant ............. effect on business

  • This is the phone to get guys, the concept of this phone remeinded me of the Razor, and I think its about time to invest in a pair of bluetooth earphone.....:) Availability of this phone will be global, good to know Lenovo is creating some synergy into Motorola and Lenovo.... Once in a bluemoon Motorola will come out with an out of this world product and this is IT!

  • is it dual sim?

  • smaller battery and absence of separate headphone jack are huge setback for me. i was really looking forward for this device but ended up with huge disappointment.

  • Battery is very less..hardly it will go for a day

  • I know why the battery is so small they want y'all to buy their module for additional battery power.

  • specs are good in moto z. but look at this, why the bottom area is so large??

  • 2600mAH battery is very bad for this configiration

  • @gsmarena This phone also has a front flash and gesture support. Please update your specs

  • dual sim plzzz...

  • Well, I don't mind my phone being a bit more thicker than that just to get more Battery

  • That battery tho...

  • No it doesn't

  • Great perfect phone awesome

  • This phone is insane. 5.2mm thats super thin. Plus the mods are better than Lgs g5. 2600mah battery ia small but remember theres a battery mod of 2200mah so add both 4600mah!!!!

  • Anyone who complains about the battery should really look at its thickness.

  • 5.2mm thickness! nice job moto

  • To make you buy the separate battery case of course!

  • what!!! No 3.5 mm jack?

  • It seems that it is an excellent job!? Well done to Motorola (Lenovo)

  • I don't understand why the heck they put such a small battery, yet the screen resolution is big! Why??

  • I keep fingers crossed for good price and DayDream Readiness, then it will be my next phone!

  • good phone in all parts except battery.also this is flagship not upper midrange.it has latest and the best SoC and it's laughable to category it in upper midranges. galaxy C5 or C7 or other mentioned are upper midranges and this phone is far better than c5/7. I can't understand how somebody compared moto Z with midranges or upper midranges!!!!!!!!!!

  • The battery in this phone is only 2600mAh... SD820 + 1440p screen = rather short battery life

  • Everything is perfect in this phone as a upper-midranger. 14nm Processor,Amoled panel,3500mah Battery,16mp camera(same as Moto g4 plus, which is just too good),Stock Android..Now If they price it accordingly and under 20k($300),then it'll sell really well, but if they go beyond that pricing then Competition from nexus5x,Mi5,One plus 3,Samsung C5,C7 will kill this phone..

  • Pls install SD652, removeable battery as moto service only at limited country

  • It has an Octa core

  • It should be water and dust proof and it should have atleast 3gb ram and usb type c port . Everything else seems to be ok !

  • After all we do not have to dip it in water

  • Commendable. Well said bro.l think it will also be shatterproof.

  • Why moto do not have less weight or slim look.

  • we are still in unofficial details, may be in official release z play might get water resistance atleast like the old moto x play 2015

  • It has not water resistant as moto G3 which is not considered with the new model of motorola or its new parental company Lenovo... Not a well job

  • moto x play (2016) or moto z play is nothing like other moto x phones and they are evolving, these phones are slim with new features like quick charge 3.0 and fingerprint scanner. if u cont accept the evolution then you are a fool, rear bump can be filled by 6 different magnetic snap-on MotoMods. available at launch: A Simple color backplate, which will ship free with both handsets Stereo speakers Extended battery pack Camera grip with flash and optical zoom Pico Projector Rugged cover with wide angle lens attachment front fingerprint scanner is poor choice of design but its not the end of world so shut up name one mobile with so many futuristic options available in it, (LG g5 is stupid with removable battery u have to restart each time) its not a coincidence that these two phones are going to be released on the same day of Lenovo’s Tech World, which is where the first consumer-ready Project Tango device is also set to be revealed. this phone wont be suffering any heating issue due to new SD625. so accept the evolution or go to hell

  • its confirmed to release officially on 9th of June 2016

  • I am going to buy this if its released within 300$ (20k) in India

  • I think they could have done more stylish design for that front finger print scanner, remaining specs will make out for that. 6 types of Amps (modules) are coming with magnetic snap-on to backside so that backside camera bulge wont be an issue. extended modules include battery pack, optical zoom and external flash, and pico projector, so i guess its awesome. This model is also expected to support quick charge 3.0 and USB 3.1 C type post with reversible support so its gonna be a best mobile of the year in mid-class.

  • Its Just a Rumor And Its Not Sure That It'll Look Like The Same, I'm Sure That It'll Buy Fame, If Moto Fans too Criticizing it then its Shame, Megapixels aren't everything in a Camera Buh many things Are There Like Laser & Phaser, Full Specs And Perfect Pictures aren't Out Yet when They will Everyone Is Gonna Love It You Bet, If You Talk about Battery so Lil mAh will be Adjusted in snapdragon 625 Chipset. Don't Talk Bad about Anything That Not Out Good or Bad will be Known soon After The Scout. ;)

  • looks like moto g4

  • Agree, will be nice x play pack with SD852, lcd 5'2" 720p or 1080p (more than that just waste battery), stereo front spekers pls, front fingerprint in g4 not cool, removeable battery as Motorola service only available on a few countries (removable bat mean we can buy on ebay etc), pls give us 4000MAh or more

  • Yes, it would have 130mAh less than the original Moto X Play, but this one could come with a more power friendly chipset (SD625) and screen, so, 3500mAh should be plenty enough. And more megapixels doesn't translate into better picture quality. Samsung just proved that.

  • it's just rumor bro....

  • It seems to be an expensive phone

  • It's a downgrade? Low mega pixel cam (What aperture?) No IP certification Battery with less capacity Only 3GB Ram :(

  • Phase detection ?!!

  • Please, come to indonesia with full support, I love this phone.............

  • Awesome specs, nothing to complain :) I'll get this one but price should be under 300$ :) :)

  • Great specification!? Maybe!! But bad design.

  • well this is the year that the lenovo kill for good the motorola legacy!!!! so sad i love the moto phones owner ( motorola v3,moto g2 gen, moto x2013, moto g 3gen....) the age of bud phones and phablets start for good ,it is not bad at all but it is not good at the same time... R.I.P moto, i will buy a moto g 1gen and i put it in my room to remind me how it all began and where they go!!!!

  • I like the back but the front is horrble

  • Really Great specifications,14nm based Snapdragon 625,amoled panel so great battery,Great display,3gb ram, 16mp with laser autofocus really cool option, but pricing must be under $300..

  • just put the fingerprint scanner on the dimple to make it look good not ugly like the g5

  • You forgot to mention type c usb port and ir blaster .!

  • I'll buy this phone if it will feature atleast 3gb ram with 32 gb internal and ip68 certification . Rest of the specs are good :) just dont price it higher than 300$ !

  • But it look ugly, or do you really like it??

  • that's the fingerprint scanner, not a button

  • Unfortunately there is no motorola available in our country even htc.

  • its a rumour bro

  • It looks ok, but i was hoping to see a higher end model from Motorola"s stable.

  • Beautiful back design, ugly front design.

  • Just the perfect specs for a mid-end phone..if pricing is right like always then this will be superb..

  • This device will be far better looking than people give it credit for. Why is it no one remembers that the finished she'd product always looks better than the leaked prototypes?

  • it is better if they put the finger print scanner on the moto dimple logo without removing the letter m

  • I'm glad to own a previous Motorola... Because now its about dead

  • That square button looks really bad, at least on this picture. And they should put the speakers on the buttom, not on the back.

  • is this a new midrange device from motorola....
