Motorola Moto Z3 - User Reviews

  • I do hope to see Android 10 update for the Z3. It was shipped with 8.1 Oreo out of the box and already received the first major software update for 9.0 Pie. So another major software update for Android 10 is more than welcome.

  • Pretty sure you can change that in the settings or install other keyboard apps that don't have it. It's not the Z3's fault.

  • I HATE this Moto z3 keyboard. Is there anyway to get a simple keyboard with only letters on each key without having a damned little # on each key. Pathetic design.

  • I had z2 force and it worked great, fingerprint too was great. But i have now z3 and have many problem. 1) fingerprint didn't locked screen, only unlocked. 2) camera app have problem for taking video on back camera, selfie worked great but moto camera app have problem when i updated last update. I used google pixel camera app for taking video. 3) problem is didn't have selfie flash what had on z2 force. Didn't update android version if you buy this phone. When i buy fingerprint locked and unlocked but i updated and now i am using program for locked phone. 🤦🏻‍♂️🥺😠

  • relax lol usb c

  • Nokia 8 with SD 835 is able to run pubg on Ultra HD graphics, Extreme FPS and Colorful Style butter smooth for 5 hours. In what way is SD 835 outdated?

  • This phone uses USB C

  • I just wanted to know if this phone is a Android USB c? Or a micro USB? Need to know so I buy the right charger please?

  • How to change wallpaper select mode from landscape to portrait while setting wallpaper?

  • Awesome piece of equipment .... Very minimum overlay means near stock Android Means fast, fast fast responses. Just Got some Android pie and I haven't looked back... Wanna save some cash? Get Moto Z2 Force.... Better display.... Same machine just smaller.... Yaaaay Moto

  • what "dog shit" do you mean ?

  • Hello guys, Moto z owner here, Can anyone post here a screenshot of the native moto audio equalizer here? I would like to know if there is any new features added.

  • Supports*

  • They mean the parts genius, the parts in the phone aren’t very good, the ram and things everyone notice are good, but everything else is dog shit

  • yeah, only newbie buy that marketing strategy, android has SDM200 to SDM855, this is long range to cover, there is no way developer make apps just for SDM855, at the end SDM855 wont use max speed, 835 far from enough

  • Maybe that's because it's using the same processor as can be found in the Z2 Force, just underclocked a bit? It also sports a lower-resolution screen.

  • People are saying its outdated.....like really wtf? It came out somewhere in 2018 and 2019 barely started. If you really wanna complain about a phone thats"outdated" by a few months please go waste your time elsewhere and buy latest flagships like iphone xs and galaxy s10 which are also outdated by "days".

  • I don't understand why Motorola is getting lazy to launch this in GCC !!!! It's a good idea with projector and camera modes which other mobile companies lacking !!!!! Waiting for launch.

  • Half price at Verizon plus a $10 a month finance service fee. I hate scams just to get you in the door.

  • quality meet value. thanks your info

  • It's on sale at Verizon this month. Half price $10 x 24 mos.

  • Outdated? That doesn't really matter, to be honest. Just because it doesn't use newer processor, doesn't mean it's automatically rendered worthless.

  • When I need I am willing to buy $500. Visit dxo mark and yo will the lens is the best on market. Motorola is branding that quality ibtrust more than my iphone, i prove my self how motorola standar above all brand in mobile

  • Do you think the Hasselblad Mod at 80 dollars is a good deal, compared to similarly priced point-and-shoot cameras?

  • How come its obsolete? Can you notice the processing speed etc5x on using this phone compare to a bloated 845 phones?

  • mods are great if they were cheaper. although hasselblad one is not that goo. its slow and dont take great pictures but this 5g one. i really like to test it. but im not in us to have verizon

  • Should've had the Snapdragon 845. The 835 is so outdated by 2018.

  • I feel jealous to the people who have the 5G Moto Mod :(

  • i think it is not a z series phone. This is a big mistak by lenovo.

  • 6gb on asia to counter attack fools chinese phones marketing as if bigger RAM add speed, as long as not bellow 3Gb should fine. Apple own the faster SoC but RAM still not that big because just a waste

  • You were viewing it in "All Versions" mode which includes China so look near the top of the page under the photo then just click on "Verizon" and it'll show the correct US specs.

  • 6 GB is for Taiwan Set

  • Something seems to be wrong with the specs of the Motorola Z3. The RAM shown here is 6GB but the Verizon and Motorola website says its only 4GB.

  • Please explain more about why you don't like the camera. Thanks

  • Snapdragon 835? Not the best processor in 2018, but if it drops the price this low, who cares! Just because a new processor is released, doesn't mean the old one becomes obsolete. My dad and I both got this phone less than two weeks ago, and so far so good! Camera isn't that good, and since I have about 5000 pictures on my google photos account from July to now, it doesn't suit me. The battery though, one word, amazing. I've used the Galaxy S6, and LG G3, and the S6 was my daily driver until I upgraded to this, and the battery is completely different. I'm used to shutting off my phone during P.E., or during classes, and having about 20 percent at the end of the school day, to now, having 60 percent left at the end of the day without turning it off! 4 GB ram is plenty enough for me at the moment as well. If you're looking for a good budget phone that is fast, and you have Verizon but don't want to order a phone from online or a Chinese brand, then get this, you'll love it! I'll be upgrading to the S10+ next year though, so I'll enjoy this while I have it. Lentriox, - A Motorola Z3 Owner.

  • who are you lol the fact Motorola mostly use by electrical engineer who know phone better

  • Snapdragon 835 in 2018? Really, Motorola? Also, not a huge fan of that Motorola branding below the display.

  • erm, nope

  • 5.2 inch best size Moto mobile full screen display my openion

  • A phone with very good specifications, because it has such a small battery? With 4000 mA I would buy it.

  • There is quad band gsm for 3G and wide range LTE band, should works globally, just fine AT&T band and match it to z3 band. Tried iphone and galaxy note, but motorola has better signal, clear voice and battery durability, hopefully sell in oz soon

  • Moto gestures alone could hold me from using other brands. And I think some brands cameras are overrated (like Huawei's cheaper flagships)

  • If this phone is unlocked from verizon does it work with att n tmobile on Full 4g speed on tmobile? Can someone advise. Moto phones are good but design is poor. Moto phonss have strongest reception.

  • Asus zenfone 5z or even one plus 6 is much better option...moto doesn't give updates on time so no point of stock android

  • I feel very jealous to the people who have this phone + the 5G Moto Mod :(.

  • Don't see any MOTO Z3 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, except a MOTO Z3 Play available in Brazil. If you're after more storage then ad a 1TB MicroSD. Search for a MOTO X4 for your 6GB RAM needs.

  • Man same to you. I knew the jack is history manufacturers know it as well only one who dont understand its you. Wireless and bluetooth technology is the future. So move along or get some kind of old bunnon fashioned Nokia where the jack will be if after maybe 2-5 years no new phones would have jack.

  • Lol it's hilarious how after a dozen replies you STILL don't get that your point is incredibly flawed. Anyways keep telling yourself that, I hope you realize one day how incredibly foolish you sound.

  • Anyone knows where can i buy this 128 GB storage 6 GB RAM phone. i have seen in many shop the 64 GB storage and 4 GB RAM phone. Thanks in advance.

  • Oh man you still dont get it. Well keep dreaming about the old ancient times when jack was a new thing and people used it. In present era is gona people did a stem forward into the future where ancient technologies have no place.

  • Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night.

  • Their isn't anything you need to be loyal about, it's just a piece of technology. But it's a very essential piece of technology that people with common sense can't live without.

  • Consumers > Businesses.

  • Yes man people who ignores normal world and lives in its own but thats it. For any other people jack is gone. Its same like Ready player one movie.

  • Well maybe. But they are interested in ancient technology which has been long time surpased by BT or Wireless technilogy.

  • The Jack has a loyal following some people rather go with mid-rangers or even budget phones to get that damn jack! O3O

  • In the end, It's all a bunch of tech no one needs to live life. Who cares.

  • And your point?

  • Man people are lazy they will wawe hand over it and move along., Jack is over and so its done. No matter what people will try. Apple have big enough community so people had their chance. But 2 years passed or even more and nobody cares. Jack is gone and everybody is happy with this result. Because if not people would already protested.

  • And BTW a newer chipset. Keep dreaming

  • actually the newer the processor, the more efficient it is, for the most part, since the architecture is shrinking, and the TDP lowers.

  • Motorola should create an affordable mod that adds the battery life and a headphone jack.

  • "And your last words are just a dream which ends as a dream majority of peope will want but these companies never heard so no matter how your majority will try these companies will ignore. Swallow that bitter pill finnaly or end as a dreamer but understand company dreams are a lot different than yours." I think you underestimate the power of society. What did people do when they weren't satisfied with their living or working conditions? They protested endlessly against businesses and the government, which often resulted in violence and even death, but in the end the people still won. It's not just my dissatisfaction when apple removed the headphone jack, most consumers are dissatisfied as well (some might not care, but deep down they are dissatisfied too). Corporations need to know that consumers aren't passive, we aren't sheep. I'm certain that if phone companies keep removing the headphone jack, there will be a large protest either in real life or on social media. If not, then perhaps today's generation of consumers have become less critical and more passive these days (or just lazy), which is a bad sign.....

  • "newer tech is always better than old" Wrong again. The commonsensical belief that new tech is always better is incorrect. The fact that you didn't even try to explain it means that you aren't certain yourself. Allright man i hear you which old tech is better than never one? Gramophone records have been overtaken by Audio and Video cassetes. Audio and Video Cassetess has been overtaken by CDs and then DVDs now blueray tech dominating which of theses is better than blue ray? What do you want to say is pure crap rest of the tech is simmilar. You have no example at all. Take a humanities course in "society and technology" and you'll understand that technological evolution, or technological progress, is not necessarily better. For example there are those that argue typing on a computer is "better" than writing on paper, but this is wrong. We have to enter data. We have to purchase the appropriate programs to enter that data. Then we have to save it and back it up. Then we have to hope the computer doesn't crash if we were absent minded and forgot to back up our data. And if we do lose the data, we have to pay to have it recovered. Wasn't it easier just to write things down?? To answer you no its not. Even books can get rotten your house can catch fire or flood or earthquake will buy everything its waste. In this case if you store it onto your email for example you will have it forewer. Chance that your acc gets hacked is very low. Your example is bad as your thnking i had to laugh for several hours and i wasnt able to sleep properly due to laughing. Stupid for you, but very useful for the vast majority of people. You need to understand that the whole point of technology is to make things easier for us. More convenient and more simple. Does the idea of having to charge your headphones every day seem convenient to you? Does the idea of turning on your bluetooth headset, going into your bluetooth settings on your phone, and then finding the name of the headset and pairing it seem simple compared to just simply plugging in your headphones? To answer you: Man its simple people are just lazy to do so. And anyway everynight you can go and charge your earphones as most people do so with their phones so its simple. You just must have some irritiating excuses. But thats your way. The truth is simply this: New technology makes tasks easier and solves old problems, but it does not make our lives easier and instead introduces new problems. This is a pure lies. Everything is constantly evloving. From beggining of existence of humanity people tried and tried again until something did not worked as they wanted to do. Failues and passes were following us and stil following. Million things must been tested just to get one result whether its possible and it will work or its not. But everything evolving even humans evloving. 100 years ago a disabled person was just for burden in present they can have robotic arms or leggs etc. In next 100 years we will be able to make a complete robot which will looks like human. Wireless audio is only convenient for some situations, but for the most part wired audio is clearly far more convenient and intuitive to use for long term. If you cannot understand that, then you're a slave to technological progress, as well as a slave to consumerism (e.g. want new this, want new that). Man even if you are right fact is these companies makes less and less phones with jack and you will do nothing with that. So its not my decision i only appreciate this because i grew up long time ago from walking on the streets wired all the way. It wasnt my decision but i only appreciate it. Keep dreaming, soon the majority of people will start complaining and corporations will either have to bring the jack back or find an alternative. And your last words are just a dream which ends as a dream majority of peope will want but these companies never heard so no matter how your majority will try these companies will ignore. Just for example apple get rid of jack with apple 7 and how big is IOS community. People complained but noone heard them. This ends the same. Swallow that bitter pill finnaly or end as a dreamer but understand company dreams are a lot different than yours.

  • No headphone jack? Rubbish. It seems like it’s time for a new slim headphone jack standard. If owning an iPhone has taught me anything it’s that using dongles are annoying and Bluetooth headphones are sketchy (great at first but battery life deteriorates rather quickly with regular use).

  • Man zes it is never tech is always better than old. In this case definitely. Everything is evolving and this is evolution. New wireless took place on wired ones. You just cant swalow a bitter pill that jack goes to be flushed in toilet for good. Do you think the wireless speeds you get with bluetooth can handle a Hi-Def FLAC file with over 5000kbps bitrate running at a 384kps sample rate with 32 bit depth? Man i dont think so. But for basic listenng tto the music is wireless tech great enough. What you typed is a bulllshhitt which uses maybe 0,00001% of global population. Do you really think that people who already own a good pair of wired earphones would waste their money just to buy a wireless one? Yes i think so they will have no choice. Earphones cost just few euros if people have money to buy for example latest Iúphone or S9 Note then they definitely have money for wireless earphones. And if not its their problem not mine i dont care how they will deal with lack of jack but as i said jack is over and its not my concern how people will deal with that. I am just glad that this stupid wired era going to an end. Just face it, you're just a snob and your argument stinks. In the end, both forms of technology achieve the exact same thing, with marginal advantages and disadvantages on either side. No one is going to be switching to wireless when literally 99% of all electronic media devices still have a headphone jack. End of discussion. Man as i said before jack is ancient technology is history swallow the bitter pill or hit the wall with the head either way jack is over i give it 2 more years then it will be gone forewer. Thats my prophercy deal with it.

  • Your argument was flawed the moment you assumed that newer technology is better than old. Just because a technology is new doesn't make it better, you realize that right? Do you think people want to charge their headphones every day, as opposed to just sticking with wired and have infinite battery life? Do you think the wireless speeds you get with bluetooth can handle a Hi-Def FLAC file with over 5000kbps bitrate running at a 384kps sample rate with 32 bit depth? Do you really think that people who already own a good pair of wired earphones would waste their money just to buy a wireless one? Just face it, you're just a snob and your argument stinks. • : For a mid-tier phone not bad specs except for no 3.5mm jack (but it has FM Radio) and a small battery 3100 mAh battery where the standard is now 3500 mAh battery or higher for mid-tier phones...

  • Man wheat makes Bread jack makes nothing. Bread can feeds you jack can what? Listen to music and video. Oh yes bluetooth technology is for that. Wired cables were good at 90s era not now. Even printers are made wireless everything is made wireless phones are made wireless. We have a wireless charging you just live in old ancient days like some kind of old Hermit. And yes its ancient technology which not everybody use or needs. I dont use jack at all and never used it before. In every phone i had my earphones were packed in the box like a brand new and since today they are still packed. Some people use wireless the future of technology others use some modificators or so. But in present era less and less phones have jack and i am glad for that.

  • "no use in new phones." Are you really that delusional lol? Everybody uses the headphone jack to connect their WIRED headset. Less than 25% of people actually use wireless. Let me ask you a question: why would the agriculture industry stop growing wheat when 95% of the world's population thrives on it? Your argument is absurdly irrational, I hope you realize that.

  • Man jack is ancient technology which has no use in new phones. Soon jack will be complete history. But if you dont like dont buy soon you will have no phone to buy.

  • Man my Moto X4 have 3000 mAh battery and i am a heavy gamer and the phone can last 7-8 hours on a nonstop gaming without charging. Whats your problerm. When i am not gaming it can last 2-3 days on average usage.

  • 3000 mAh is enough, for day to day work. Do you wish more? If yes then you should do one of the following: - be ready for thick phone to accommodate the battery OR - buy a power bank mod with phone OR - don't buy a phone, till Lenovo agrees to attach a mini power generator to your phone. You will never have to worry about charging your handset. I think 3rd option is better one.

  • There are not "power hungry" phones, 3000mAh is enough unless you push it through the limit -_-

  • Would be a perfect phone, except there's NO HEADPHONE JACK. You done lost a customer.

  • Excuse me boss 3000 mah is more than eno ugh for moto phones. They already have a proven track record.

  • It has really become a joke. New smartphones power hungry and they use 3000 Mah batteries!!!

  • Brilliant moto. Superb. Waiting for launch. Using z3play. Like to upgrade with z3....

  • Okay, agree. But on opposite side.. people have complaints about Pixel of slowing down, and now oneplus is there new choice. Android is not optimized like iOS. So it's simple increase the RAM, more will be efficiency. Oneplus is the New Nexus.

  • Increased RAM us just numbers. Rather than increasing the RAM, it's better to improve efficiency. Increased RAM doesn't means it's good. It's a prima facia indicator that there are many hidden apps over and above OS, which would eat into RAM and slow down the phone. Hence, they play safe and provide extra RAM. And people who are not aware of concept of efficiency, think higher RAM is good . It's efficiency which matter and not the amount of RAM. Moto phones come with nearly clean Android and 4gb ram is enough to do most of the tasks smoothly. Even Pixel siblings do not have more than 4 GB of RAM.

  • Samsung S9 have 3000mah only so .......

  • X5 must go with SD710 , dualcam 1.7 with OIS. Battery 4000mah , ip68 , 6/64-128 ram-rom , kevlar back.

  • Why would the X5 suddenly have SD 8-series when X4 had SD630, and not even SD650/652? The once upon a time X-series that came in both Force and Play editions as well was replaced by Z-series and this Z3 is part of that series. I hope X5 will get SD660, but it will probably get SD636, if it even comes because it's essentially the Z3 Play with no MotoMod support and Motorola One (Power) without a notch. A lineup consisting of Z3 with SD835, I can see some would ask for 845, but kind of pointless truthfully. X5 with SD660 G6 Plus with SD 636 would be a very good offering, unfortunately it's 630. Not bad, but a bit shame. Etc would be a great lineup actually. One Power is a pointless device, at least how it is rumored.

  • Finally a perfect phone with a really good price , i think everything is just right not less not more , I'll definitely upgrade my z play to z3 but i hope international version comes fast before it's too late

  • Turbo Power mod... no reason to buy this phone if you don't care about using the mods.

  • This is not even shock resistant? :O

  • Only 3000mAh battery... I would never buy this.

  • No more mod phone. . Moto X5 will be the next flagship with snapdragon 845

  • It's certainly more expensive than the Z2 Force.

  • The thickness of this phone with the 5G Moto Mod reminds me of the UMTS phones from 2003 like the Sony Ericsson Z1010 and NEC e606.

  • No reason to upgrade even from the original moto z.

  • So I think I figured it out. - Moto released a "1 year" mid range phone so that in 2019 when 5G is a thing people will be willing to buy a real flagship Z series in Fall 2019. If you think about it...all the flagships coming out this fall are gonna be $800-1000+ and will be "obsolete" come next year. But because of the 2 year contracts, people won't be willing to upgrade to a 5G phone until 2020. -Also Motorola still has IFA (basically a German version of Mobile World Congress) at the end of August, 1st of September. So we still have a chance to see a new Flagship (Moto One/Power?)

  • $480 for a sd 835?!, eww no

  • Hello Moto look i know you're still struggling but don't give up Motorola your Moto Z series is still good but you know what i think you should team up with Nokia make a Hybrid Phone Called Motorola Nokia G6.1 and G6.1 Plus just like Sony Ericsson and you will have happier and simplier life just do it for me i'm believe in you

  • What's wrong with this legendary brand? When everyone is playing numbers game, they are still stuck at 4GB RAM. And even Vivo is planning for 10GB RAM phone. I know 10 GB RAM is a useless gimmick but atleast 6GB RAM is expected from this flagship.

  • We expect more from the Motorola, I think z2 force is much better than the z3. Sd 835 in 2018 :(

  • This is such a flop, Lenovo officially killed the flagship line. This phone was literally made to just continue to support the motomod ecosystem which isn't going so well either

  • This phone can also function as a step ladder when you need to reach higher, because of the size of the camera bump.

  • if it has 3.5 jack..then will fullfil everyone needs
