Motorola Motoluxe - User Reviews

  • I had this phone for 2 years and it got pretty slow and annoying by the time. It restarts a lot of times by itself, my jack input is not working anymore and the phone freezes frequently, the back of the phone comes of too easily and there are also problems with the camera and a lot of other things so if you're looking for something on long term I do not reccomend this phone.

  • very good battery life time

  • I've had the same problems i think is has somthing to do with the adhesive

  • Worst phone which i have never used till date , it having hell lot of issues with Date setting and all stuff it wont vibrate some times

  • it means this is not enough to use this phone not set

  • Honestly, i cant even begin to explain my hate towards this phone. I bought it with high hopes and was happy the first couple of months. Now i detest it. Earphone jack stopped working even though i regularly use my ipod. It wont read any sd card and has wiped my sd card so many times and ive had to download programs to recover my things. It is so.slow and has very little internal storage and even with an 8 gig card (when it actually read it) it usually wouldnt et me download anything. To connect to a wifi i usually have to turn it off and on to get it to work and is so so slow. In conclusion, i do not recommend this phone to anyone.

  • how to root?

  • You can't. You have to root the phone so that you can install an app so that you can tak screenshots.

  • This was my first smartphone. When i got it, it was already used (But it was in very good confition), so this probably has affected my experience of the phone. This phone is slow. Very slow. It can literally only handle Flappy Bird. Playing basic games can make the phone freeze, or even resart automatically. I think this is very annoying. A slow processor is the only major problem. It looks quite good, and it fits quite nicely in your hand. It has Android 2.3.7 (Gingerbread, and i know, thats not new at all, but it will do it. After about 4 months of use, the phone started to act wierd. When i got a call from someone, it could sometimes freeze in the incoming call screen, or it would not make a sound at all. The caller would then reach my answermachine. Just a day after this, the phone felt out of my pocket while i was on my bicycle, and the screen craked. This had happened 2 times before, whitout the same result, only a few scratches on the back of the phone, so it was a solid phone. This was the end of my Motorola Motoluxe (XT615)

  • I dropped my phone by accident and it started to buzz until I removed the battery. The earphone sign was also lit. To stop it, I removed the back cover and battery. I noticed that at the top central side, under the camera, there is a board to board connector. I pushed on the internal side of the phone trying to separate the connector contacts a little bit and then returning it back again. This stopped the buzzing, but now I need to have extra care to handle the phone because it will buzz again if a regular impact is applied. Seems to be an adhesive assembly that gets broken with impact.

  • The best phone out there super durable and fast

  • I had this phone as my 1st smart phone and at the time I thought it was brilliant. However when I began to use the phone it got very slow and it's connection was terrible. it took five minutes to turn on and the back kept Falling off quite a lot. i had a lot of problems with the phone and overall I would not say this phone is efficient and reliable.

  • quite a good phone but occasionally slows down.

  • my power button stopped working, it did it before but it would just act as if it was constantly being held down and it would bring up power options and then it stopped and now it stopped working altogether and the only way to turn it on is to smack the back of the phone. i don't know what to do. is it something simple to fix? or is it electrical?

  • The shutter button has stopped working, and some reason the only way to turn it on is to slam it down again, its a good phone normally, it just isnt working all of a sudden

  • Is the vibration problem solved for you? Was it a software bug or hardware issue? Me too getting this problem. I would also say this is a worst phone i've ever used so far. I faced all the problems mentioned in this post in my phone.

  • This phone is super durable it can be used in minus 40 ive spilt beer on it* dropped it idk how many times i have a crack in my screen but if this were a iphone or galixy it would of broke by now it has an aluminum body instead of plastic. *if u get ur phone wet put it in rice*

  • u probably got a bad one, i have used iphone, htc titan and motoluxe, i havent experienced anything bad about it. its been all smooth, no problem., good battery life.

  • You can get one on eBay!

  • Anyone know where i can get a new shell for motoluxe. Looked on amazon no luck.

  • this phone is the worst ive owned it for a year and in this time i have brought it back to be repaired 2 times. i brought the phone in for repair because every time i put the battery in it would vibrate. i just got it back from repair a week ago and it is now saying there is something in the headphone jack there is nothing in there. i do not recommend this phone at all. im with bell and i have it warrantied but they wont replace the phone at all they do is repair it.

  • hey guys tell me,i need a 4ne ,this one can i buy it or not?ur advise pls

  • I have had this motoluxe for a year now and find it the most annoying phone that i have ever had. It constantly resets the time and date. It has poor memory capacity. Into the bargain, T Mobile are pretty unhelpful and wont replace or upgrade the device, even though i have offered to pay more!!!! Any ideas to help? Much appreciated

  • hello how can i take a screenshot ?

  • hello could anyone help me ? how can i make screenshot ?

  • When I was taking a video with this phone it froze on me because it had software problems for no reason at all One day when I went to see my pictures on this all my pictures and videos were gone for no reason at all but the next day the pictures I took with the camera on this phone just randomly came back weird how that works hey one time the touchscreen did not respond to my finger at all

  • The phone is clearing out now for $79 at virgin. It's better than any other prepaid at that price. For that money, what did you expect? Who takes a phone like this on contract? Lol! Yes camera is bad for an 8mp but on par with any 3mp that comes with nearly all phones for $79.

  • what an awful phone and I was well and truly conned. camera???? might have a 8 mgp but the shutter timing is terrible. messaging system rubbish, very very complicated and if constructed in the correct format I probably would of got more use but gave up so many times. The phone is that bad i'm paying the default money just to get out of the contract. never again will I buy, rent or whatever use a motarola product.

  • i know right its a good price and a good deal for a brand new phone like this phone and it works really good it has a facetime thingy camrea its really great to use

  • i also recommend if for 100 bucks got one from virgin also. great value and decent performance

  • love it. Also got it from virgin. does great video calls with skype. best phone around bar none fer 100 bucks

  • could i get android 4 (ice cream sandwich) ?

  • It's good but it needs ICS

  • I just got one from Virgin Canada for $99, and I couldn't be happier with it. It's way above any prepaid phone on the market at that price. Don't be discouraged by negative reviews, they are biased and the reviewers obviously didn't spend much time with the phone. For the first hour after turning it on it was a little laggy but then it settled down and smoothed out, especially after I removed any unnecessary widgets. Be SURE to apply the update I had trouble with SMS until I updated. The camera is a weak point for an 8Mp but you can improve it by tweaking the settings a bit. Still vastly better than any other $99 phone I've tried.

  • Realy i am thinking if getting one

  • you need to install cm7, go to this link and follow the instructions. you may have to use google translate

  • The motoluxe is a clash between sleek and stylish. the motoluxe is a great phone to use because it is very cheap for the value. this phone is built like a tank in that its made of mostly metal. After using this phone for quite a while i did notice that it lags alot when switching homescreens, but i quickly fixed this problem by installing cm7 (cyanogenmod 7)witch is basicly a stock ginger bread, after that the phone became quite snappy. i would definatly recomend this phone for those people that want a good phone but for a really low price. it is not good, however, if you are one of those people that love those oh so beloved dual core ultra fast phones. overall rating 6/10

  • i totaly agree with your post, however there is a numerous number of ways you can improve your experience with the motoluxe. if you wish to have 4.1 or 4.2 you can simply go into into google play and download 2 programs. the first one is 'holo launcher' the second one is 'holo locker' once you apply both these items the phone will look somewhat like 4.2. you also need to turn your current motoswitch locker off in order to prevent double locking. hope this helped!

  • 4.2? seriously? the phone cant handle even 4.0... it's a good phone for beginners and for people that don't need a small pc in their pockets.

  • This is the worst phone ever ... I guess i might be a bit pickey but its slow... Sometimes it gives me troubles drawing my dot pattern and it takes a while to turn on ... Its a good phone in the sense its durrable ... But it needs to have 4.0 or 4.2 instead of 2.3 ... The camera is decent ... Great durring the day horrible for nighttime videos

  • This mobile is too good for its price...Stylish, slim and beautiful A complete package :-)

  • it is too good

  • Will you please let us know the link from where you get the upgrade for motorola motoluxe?

  • Will you please let me know where you find the upgrade? Please specify the link.

  • I have this mobile for 1 year, sday suddenly it got switched off and not getting on...can anyone pls help me to switch on my mobile...

  • i cant unlock my mobile phone motorolla motoluxe pls help me out

  • I upgraded my phone to this model back in May 2012. By October I had issues with the phone regarding needing an upgrading. I spent the next three months without proper service and with no upgrade available. Recently I found after much searching an upgrade that I needed to install, which I did. Since then for the most part I have had better service, until a few days ago when my apps started to cease to work. The picture quality for the phone sucks. I can't get any decent photos on it. I couldn't find a case anywhere to fit the phone, so I had to improvise encase I dropped it. Overall I do not like this phone.

  • Which passcode? SIM PIN or Screen unlock passcode? For SIM PIN, please contact your carrier. If it's your android unlock screen passcode, please start your phone in recovery mode. Turn your phone off. Press and hold volume down button + power on. Release power-on button when the screen turns on. On som phones you have to hold both volume up and down pressen while turning on the phone. I can't access youtube from here, but I think this will show you what you need: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYscCK024U8

  • I have this phone and have a passcode on it and have forgotten my passcode does anyone know if I can remotely factory reset it or something really need to get into it does anyone know how i can do this?

  • I updated my motoluxe a while ago, but now the wifi don't work... Therefore i tried reseting it, but there is no update....Although my wifi works (i think the wifi is going to stop working when i turn off my phone) I am trying to search for system update using the menu in setting in about phone, But it says problem checking updates.... I seriously dont know how....Can any one help me please

  • it's ridiculously problematic!!! the slightest moisture and the touch screen goes ballistic! it freezes into a white screen when taking pictures sometimes. the memory is low end the processor is equal to the campacity of a nokia 3310. my screen shattered on new years... admitedly that's no fault of the phone... but still a bit poor....

  • its a very good phone for its price big screen good internet and good battery

  • The Good: - good battery life - it's pretty hard to drain it in a day, except if you're playing games or use the wi-fi a lot! - the display is excellent - almost corner to corner good resolution and dpi @ 4 inch. - excellent built quality - aluminum, quality plastic, even if it's not goriila glass the display is good quality in terms of it's plastic cover. - good audio especially through aux/external speakers. - good photo quality ( in daylight) - the phone weight is perfect, not too heavy, not too lite - led notification is quite proeminent and it's easy to spot a missed call if your phone is in plane sight. - querty works as it should! - touch sensitivity is good! - overall look is good, looks a lot like expensive phones and the materials used are not just show&tell, they're really the thing. Glitches: - about... 3 out of 5 times when you press the power button to turn on the display, the touch is faulty, and you need to turn the display off than back on again. - The front camera does not work for videocalling, only voip protocols. - The main camera takes very poor snapshots during night. The LED creates a halo of light that leaves an impression on the photo. - no way to get arround it. - Video recorder does a poor job recording - no zoom in or out, this is worse than nokia X2 lol, but the video has good resolution even if it's not hd, it's still pretty good. - if you have this phone it will restart about 3 times a day without notice or warning due to poor software, and before it does that you will notice the phone doing things very slow. - wi/fi and hsdpa connectivity is very good. - preinstalled apps can't be removed, and motorola didn't even let us get rid of stuff we don't want such as the useless quicoffice lite! and some other elements of social networking that some don't necesairly use that could make room for other apps that require ROM and not SD space. - social graph service and other motorola bloated software/controls are useless as well, all except for the well designed buttons that control bluetooth/wifi/airplane mode and so on. - no preintalled flashlight app. - if there's a led on the phone i'm certain almost 90& of users have one in there. - back plate needs some adjusting by curving the pins on the back a bit so it's tighter on the back and the speaker grill vibrates durin calls, this can be improved by using a toothpick and some silicon on the edghes of the speaker grill at the top. The Bad: - browsing the internet is not quite what you'd expect, even for a 800 mhz processor. It's quite slow - no custom rom YET! (or so says XDA develpers, BUT the problem is being addressed) - battery charging is quite fast till about 80% but there's a lot to wait for that extra 20%. 100% charge in about 2~2.5 hrs. if it's not used during that time. What needs improving: SOFTWARE ! - re-designed video recorder and tweaked camera app(no touch focus) slow to take pictures. - shortcut for sound recorder, the app is in there, but i haven't found a way to get to it. - needs to have a preinstalled flashlight app like on defy mini. - needs some tweaking on the default launcher, it is heavy on resources and at least 50% slower than other launchers out there. Note: - device can be rooted, and has ClockworkMod recovery for it. Cheers!

  • Really bad phone. Looks good but cant deliver what it promises. If it were slightly better, i.e. faster processor and more internal memory it would be far more useable but as it stands, really disappointing.

  • Well after giving a good review of this phone, it has changed. I have problems with the handset freezing when I use the Camera its so annoying and when I send sms sometimes he do freeze as well, he has the latest firmware installed on him so I took him to Moto care and they say there is nothing they can do for him unless Moto release another firmware update. So I have him for sale on Ebay now let someone else take him on.

  • only if the minimum hardware requirements are met. Check wikipedia pages for icecream etc to see the requirements.

  • is iit possible to update to 4.0 android

  • It's a good phone for it's price. You can spend a lot more on a "better" phone (one that is super popular) and still run into the same problems. I have had my phone for several months and there haven't been any major complaints to be made from me. I actually think the battery is good, and it charges quickly. I will also have my phone paid off quickly by using the "Tab" with Virgin Mobile. So if I choose to switch phones, I can do it soon and without it costing me.

  • Just updated my luxe and the wifi problems in the last update have been fixed the phone is also running very fluid and battery life has improved. really enjoying my experience on this handset now. I don't know why people say the battery is poop on this its better than any other smartphone I have used. Also I see people complain about the touch screen not sure why unless you have a dud handset as this is comparable to my sisters lumia 920 At its smart price its a win for me.

  • Being realistic it has a crappy touch display, but the Internet speed (specially uploading) its incredible and it's cheap and looks so nice. It also has hot spot feature (for a very low price). And finally if you compare how much you are paying and what you get, it's fair.

  • Not the best phone. I really on the phone for atleast 2 phone calls and about 3 texts a day. Ideally after all this battery will this the battery drains to 50%. This also happens after fully charging the phone within a 2 hours it drains to 50% .

  • Crap proccesor phone just sucks got for free with supertab and regret it i would rather have a non glithchylg lg rumour

  • Why not try tangome insteadof skype

  • Hubby and I each got this phone in Aug/Sept 2012 and with the update 3-4 weeks ago lost all ability to acces Wi-Fi. We do not have data plans a relied solely on Wi-Fi. We are filing a warranty claim with our provider to have the phones replaced with a different model that was not affected by this CRAZY update. If I could, I would rather shop around for a new phone, likely not Motorola...with no response to their clients about this wild update fiasco, I have lost faith in their customer service abilities.

  • don't get update!!!!! kills your phone!!!!!

  • I purchased this phone in September and it workied great until I installed the update and it killed my wifi - after complaining for 3 weeks and still the answer is sorry maam - waiting for a patch - it's been a month - still no update by next week I want a new phone -

  • I've also lost being able to use wifi! Virgin said Motorola was working on this but it's been over two weeks since I uploaded the update and it's still not working. I'm ready to take the phone back as it no longer has the features it was sold with!

  • The Motoluxe is the best mobile I've ever had, great screen, amazing performance and the of all good price. I recommend you this mobile if you want to have a good device with a good size (not as bigger as galaxy s3 or all of those new mobiles that are hard to use with one hand)

  • I was thinking about getting this phone. I was wondering if it is worth getting? By the sounds of things I might consider other phones..

  • I had that problem too, then the new update came out, if you are still experiencing the problem, try turning your data off, that's what worked for me, but still worked when I had wifi on, I bought this phone in September, not happy, switching back to my samsung. Too many glitches.

  • Mine (one week old) cannot text to an email address. Attempting that invokes the email application, but I don't have a data plan. Motorola Support confirmed you cannot text to an mail address. (My old dumb phone could) Model XT615 V 2.3.7

  • i'm in the same boat after downloading an update.

  • i have gotten this phone about a month ago with virgin, and it used to work amazingly. now though, recently it rufuses to connect to any type of wifi at all, and i have tried turning the phone off and on, replugging in the router but nothing seems to work - any help?

  • Yes

  • Thank you so much for help with this issue..ive tried contacting Motorola and bell..both said to send it in for repair. My boyfriend went through two of these phones within a week period with the same problem..

  • Take out your memory card and connect it to another device, such as a PC using micro SD to SD adapter. It could be that your memory card is broken. If you have another one available you can try and see if the same happens when you use it.Or perhaps can try a friends memory card in your phone.

  • Yes i turn off but wen i try again to turn on not working again...pls help me..

  • Hi i have a problem about mya moto luxe...my sdcard is not working..how to fix it? Pls hepl me i did not picture and video.

  • Hi i have a problem about mya moto luxe...my sdcard is not working..how to fix it? Pls hepl me i did not picture and video.

  • Is it data roaming I turn off?

  • I have the same problem with my Motoluxe and I am on a Virgin plan. Did you get the problem fixed. I couldn't send texts a month ago, and then it started working all of a sudden. Now it not able to send texts again. From what I see, there will be a software upgrade that will fix this problem. For now was wondering if anybody had any resolution to this problem.

  • Hi, has anyone experienced a problem with the sound quality in Motoluxe? I am facing a steady disturbance in while talking. Please help

  • i had the same problem, you just have to turn off your data when texting and only have it on when u need it. its a glitch with the soft wear in this phone, they are working on fixing it. it still sucks though.

  • Can Instagram work on it?

  • can i upgrad gingerbird to icecream sandwich on motorola motolux

  • I just bought this craolux and cant text at all. It accepts them and none are sent. I am on a virgin $35. So i do have text in my package. The 2nd day i took it back to the source and they wanted to send it off while charging me money to borrow a replacement?? Miserable and out 267 bucks

  • Yes the motoluxe can support all the max payne games it also detects if it does not support before it lets you download an pay before. All in all this is a great phone. For the price range (£189.99) still in t mobile stores its made of steel really strong phone very fast on all apps an internet you can also use the phone as a modem and use internet data from mobile to laptop, ps3, xbox and ipads exc 10/10 rating for the phobe and value :)

  • what about asphalt 7,gta iii,max payne? won't really be nice spending money buying and downloading these games only for them not to work.thanks.

  • hello . how i can find message center #

  • yes

  • can i put iGO maps on Motoluxe?

  • yes it supports

  • Can motoluxe phone support to mobiletv?

  • Does anyone know how to make 3g video calls through this phone?

  • Sorry there will be no Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade according to the following link to Moto's official post:

  • Can it get a upgrade to İce Cream Sandwhich?

  • Guys, please help me ASAP! I am thinking about Motorola Motoluxe and Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus 7500, which is best buy? please help me, I can't decide by myself. Thank you

  • Tried the multiling keyboard but not working as required. Thanks for the suggestion maybe others have other suggestions of t9 phone keypad app for Motorola MotoLuxe. Andy help appreciated.

  • u can try the multiling keyboard

  • I've got it one last month whenever i'm installed the battery notification ...it showed like only between of full 10% 20% 30% not the exactly percentage just like 75% 72% Is that original of motorola problem or mine... plz help me ....how can i solve it

  • Does anyone use an android keyboard app on their motoluxe that is not the stock QWERTY Keyboard I have a friend who does not like QWERTY and cannot text while walking along. He is looking for a regular phone keypad app that adds new words and keeps them. Touchpal is not keeping them when the phone is turned off and back on. Thanks for any help you guys can give. Andy

  • Ya people now a days want all together but they forget the price and the build of the phone. Motorola Phones are made of very high quality. Not like samsung which have a plastic backcover of low quality even for thier flagship phone Galaxy S2.

  • Hi, Im also having in Skype. Did you resolve your problem on this? Please advise me also on how to fix it. I am so disappointed because one of the reason why I bought this phone is to communicate with my son thru skype without using my laptop. I am expcting that I could use this phone anywhere. Thanks.

  • i would get the lg as it is faster and overall a much better smartphone.

  • it has Been 7 months motorola announcd this product with defy mini. The defy mini has reached india abt a month ago Can sm1 tell me expected arrival in india an is it available at any onliNe shopping sites in coming soon 4 IM eagerly waiting for motoluxe

  • I love this phone. Some reviews say it's only mid-range and not fantastic, but the price you can get this phone sim free for now (£159 in the UK) is well worth it. I find it easy to use, fast and user-friendly. Never had a Motorola before but I'm well impressed. Much prefer it to my Samsung Galaxy Ace which I'm going to sell in favour of the Motorola Motoluxe. I will certainly keep an eye out for the other new releases by Motorola who seem to be making a remarkable come-back. Thumbs up for the sleek and neat Motorola Motoluxe, 9 out of 10:)

  • Phone memory is only 300 MB . you can use External memory for your downloading application

  • It will go 2 days on a full charge, got that speaker grill fixed with a toothpick and some black silicon, than cleaned it off with a paper towel so the silicon willl only stick to the sides, and now the speaker grill doesn't vibrate anymore, i'm pretty sure motorola could have done that on their own, but now the phone hears great. One of the things i don't like though is the fact that not a whole lot of people are working on a custom rom, and the fact that te back plate is always half-open. Picture quality durring night shots really sux. The led flash doesn't do much except blurr the photos, on one side the light interferes with the shutter.

  • The phone looks nice, But the memory is very less, they did not mention how many Phone Memory, its just mentioned 1 GB Rom and 512 MB Ram. If I download application will it save in SD card or Phone memory?

  • does the screen have some protection glass?

  • done a contract with this phone and very disappointing. In three months that i have it already got a new one and today went with my second phone back to stores to send it to repairs. It looks nice but no value for money. After this time im trying to get another phone to continuing my contract.

  • when sth is going on

  • Nope, the screen is plastic, but very good quality.

  • It's a great phone, I like it very much but I found it problematic with skype. Skype doesn't give any audio options and people cannot hear me while talking on skype. I don't know how to solve this problem...Please help!

  • Yes, skype is the problem! Does anyone know how to solve audio problem on the skype? I can hear people but they dont hear me! Please help!

  • The screen of the phone is glass?

  • The screen phone is made from glass is solid ?

  • okey! but what about fifa 12 of nfl or real football 2012? i mean high-fi games

  • I've already played these games and worked above average with little to no lag: shadowgun, shine runner, riptide, blood and glory, flcommando, real racing 2, gt racing, nova, dead on arrival, temple run, resident evil 4(korean ver) and of course all the light games like angry birds and others!!

  • lovely phone

  • What Is That Blue Light In Cell Phone ?.....When It's Gonna be Turn On And When It's Gonna Be Turn Off ?

  • which games work on it?

  • Battery - lasts somewhere between 1,5 - 2 days, it's very hard to drain the battery in 24 hrs for normal usage: ocasionally browsing the net, taking a few pictures, listening to music for about 4 hrs, calling, txt messages and so on. Battery charging takes a little over 2 hrs for a full charge. Very responsive, little lag.

  • man can u play any high def games? like fifa 12 or madden nfl or N.O.V.A 2??

  • Ok, so like i said i got the phone, it's pretty nice, it feels good in hand, it's solid, just about the right weight, not too heavy, not too lite, i hate tha lite feel of plastic phones, which is not the case here. Big display, nice looking notification light, I charged it for about 12-14 hours and I've used it for music, internet browsing, gps, 2g calls and video all day, with this usage i'm still 75% battery full, and i'm waiting to see if i can get trough till tomorrow night. GPS - acurate positioning in about 10-20 seconds. Still using google maps, hope to find somth to use offline. 2G calls - reception is very good, and the sound is clear on both sides. The bad is that you have to put that speaker right to your ear, because the speaker grill is right at the end, so if you move the phone up and goes a bit above your ear you can't hear much. The speaker grill is annoyingly thin aluminum and bends easily to the fingernail, and also vibrates, maybe i can use a toothpick and some silicon to put a tiny amount around it so it doesn't vibrate anymore. I know... it's one of those "there i fixed it" situations but what can i do?! CAMERA - I've tweaked the settings a bit, and it works acceptable for most situations, set the resolution to 5mp, because 8 seems a bit too much and doesn't deliver the detail it promises, so i'm fine with that. Stock Software - works pretty good, not a lot of space, the phone came with a 2gb microSD but still not nearly enough for music, pics and videos. The music app doesn't have settings you can tweak for the SOUND and so on but it's decent and the sound is good ove 3,5 mm jack headphones. PERFORMANCE - THERE IS A LITTLE BIT OF LAG, but not so much and it's something i can live with for this price. A bit of lag when i move between the screens, in the browser there's no pinch to zoom, but you do get zoom in and out buttons. INTERNET - the connection speed is very good over wi-fi. I don't have a data plan yet and i'm not going to use one, it's pointless for me with all the routers in the area: work, home, downtown and so on. CONTACTS - the android contact app, although very functional and it synced my contacts from 4 accounts: google, facebook, yahoo, skype is also nice, but it lacks functionality in terms of merging all those contacts into one, or taking some details and associating them with names. For instance you can't use details from something stored on a sim card and attach it to a yahoo messenger id and so on, you have to do that via google. When it snatches the pictures for your contacts from facebook, the avatar photos are low res, bad quality. and the in-call screen has some issues when drawing the area around the contact. DISPLAY - for this type of display i can honestly say it's pretty impressive, the viewing angles are good, the sunlight legibility is also good, and the colors are amazing. PHONE VIBRATION - could use a lot of improving... the vibrator inside must be very low quality, i've seen cheaper phones with a better vibrator than this... THE LED NOTIFICATION - very useful and nice looking, but could use a setting to turn off, or just lower the intensity. The phone doesn't feel cheap at all, it has a nice solid feel except for the annoying speaker grill in front i told you about. I don't know if the display is plastic or glass on this one but it doesn't feel cheap although you might consider a phone cover just in case... overall i've had it for about 24 hrs and i'm happy with it, just gotta finish syncing my contacs which is so very borring. Too bad there's no canyogenmod or alternate software for it yet.

  • I'm not about the bells and whistles when it comes to a phone, as long as it looks good, and feels good in hand i don't need God knows what effects on it or stuff like that... I bought it and i'm gonna get it tomorrow, as soon as i get it, i'll post my review on it and after i use if for a while i'll post another review. I looked for custom roms online but couldn't find any, hope there are developers somewhere working on it. It's a cool phone as far as i'm concerned.

  • The LG Optimus 2x is better, due to it's more powerful CPU and GPU. But in the same/similar price range you should also be able to find the Motorola Atrix, which is much better than both.

  • u all boys think that this is a bad phone because of settings and specifications?? it is mid range phone and accept that.! when i first time saw this phone i said that i must have it but supplies went out and i am still waiting for him, but when i saw it i had knew that this is ithe one!! and don't say bad things if u dont have it! so my question is if fifa 12 works on this specifications??

  • This will be my first android phone. Is it ok for the first phone? Is 2.3.7 good enoufgh, or will I be wrong for not purashing an I.C.S device? I am thinking about Motorola Motoluxs and LG L7. Please help me choose, I love Motorola looks, and I think that it is beter quality device. Please help...

  • Guys will this phone work with Wind Network (Canada). As wind has its own frequency or what i dont know much about it.?

  • you couldn,t instal micro card?

  • Hy.Can somebody please help me.Who is better mobile phone: Motorola Motoluxe XT615 or LG Optimus 2X also known as LG P990?Thanks ;-)

  • This phone is very good only problem is Skype does not work well and fails. You tube works perfectly Can't play hd videos smoothly. But plays low res video smoothly. Internal memory is only about 300mb. Sd card can extend but still can't instal unlimited apps as internal memory runs out even apps are on sd card. But is ok for the price. Front camera is ok for g talk but g talk fails too. Design and looks fantastic.battery life is good but I wish would need to be doubled to run a day with heavy use. it comes with Android endless features. Things I wish to improve is Skype to work Battery life To play hd videos To support large capacity memory card like 64GB Increase internal memory to at least 4GB

  • you want hands on experience knowledge?. its a really good phone it is so underated. i had the samsung galaxy ace on a £15 a month contract that was my first ever android device. i thought that was good then recentley about a month and a half ago i got the motoluxe on a contrat and it is suprisingly very good. although it has the same 800mhz processor as the galaxy ace its not even sluggish even with upto 3 heavy apps(which is good). the battery life gets me through a day of music playing at 75 brightness(good outdoor visibility in this setting and above) i hope this helps

  • One of the best phones around for its price! And as for the specs don't fools you the 800 mhz single core and adreno 200. this phone has adobe flash support like no other with these specs plays all the latest game like shadowgun, riptide and others with great performance. in some benchmarks it scored better than desire hd and to all better than optimus black. The battery is very good (2-3 full days). Its slim has awesome screen and very fast in browsing the internet!the camera is average with a little blur after shot and when viewing the photo.

  • Hands on, have white version. Mentioned colour as headphones look very cheap and are not colour matched to device. Despite same processor as defy and only adreno 200 graphics as opposed, if you benchmark it it is slow, however in reality it is as fast as say a Lumia 710, or indeed a galaxy w both with 1.4Ghz processors not bad for a 800 meg chip. Browsing is fast no lag in text. Speaker is junk and vibrates metal grill even at low volume. Camera seems more like a 3mp than 8! Screen is so good though, could be taken as ips, or indeed second genetation slcd. It is brighter than xperia s, and also brighter and clearer in my opinion than even galaxy III, not a lover of super amoled, or amoled plus. This phone scores highly in screen department. Looks and acts like a much more powerful phone, on paper its junk in reality I love it!! Thanks Moto.

  • DEFY+ is a more powerful device in both hardware (CPU and battery primarely) and construction. This on the other hand has a bigger screen and slightly better design. @Chubby: It's a decent phone, just wish it had the HW of the DEFY+ and it would be perfect. The UI can be a bit slow, so I would advise to use a more snappy launcher like launcherpro. Or root + overclock.

  • Doesn't seem like anyone has used one so don't understand comments either good or bad. How about some hands on experience?

  • One quick question...i need your opinion and help what to buy, Motorola Defy + or Motorola Motoluxe I don't know which is better so i need help

  • Please remember guys that this uses an ARM Cortex A5 processor. This processor is very power-efficient and will out-perform older higher-clocked processors like the Cortex A8.

  • is a good mobile phone, performant and nice. the batery is grate, super camera, not complicated phone and so usefull, grate display. five stars ! i recommand motoluxe !

  • these mobile fulfils to me what i want that is available in it .and also it has good loking. so ,according to me this is very good mobile.

  • This is a budget phone at the moment, but the build quality seems pretty good from what i've read, and is priced in romania at about 210 eur. I think the specs are reasonable for this price, and i'm planning to buy it but i'm waiting for the price to fall a bit. It does the job as a phone and is a good organizing tool + it looks pretty good. Due to the fact that it's really low spec for these times it might have the same fate as a lot of motorolas, the prices will drop fast and when people realize that it's quite a good phone for everyday use it will cost very little and bring little profit to the company. What i hate about this phone are the following: - if you put an 8 mp camera why not put in a good one. - there were a lot of phones in the past that had really good soud quality over 3.5 mm jack, why is this one such low quality compared even to the older models. Questions: - how does voice guided navigation work? - how is the sound quality? and i mean hands-on experience. - is there another rom, or has anyone managed to tweak the settings so that the device works faster? - do you think that it's worth paying 210 euros for this device? when i buy it i'll give you a full review.

  • neo V have fron camera 1.3 MP

  • I've had defy and atrix 4g before and I was realy satisfied, but with this... I'm realy disappointed. The light sensor make the display very, but very flickery. the camera in low light can not take pictures (you can't understand nothing from then) and on top off all, from the second day I bought it the dust had infilktrated under the glass, a very thick layer of it. Ohh, and the poor specs are noticeable in the lag that is present in all applications, from launcher to browser. The only thing that can save this phone are the custom roms like cyanogen I think

  • this is meant as a entry level phone, therefore more like to come out at 0$ with a data plan and less than 70$ with a voice plan. That is why the specs are entry level.

  • Look at the price! Use one then comment, this an awesome phone for its price.

  • I think this phone is a medium phone from the point of wiew of the price and we cannot expect to get a super smarthphone with this low price....we cannot buy a Porsche with 500 $ no?

  • neo v doesn't have front camera isn't it? its just having a 5MP primary camera smaller 3.7 inches screen it does not have the stylish looks and design as luxe which is the USP of luxe so in what way one should think of neo v hmm surprising

  • i'm agree with u this rubish doesn't compare with xperia neo v wich has the same price but moooore good specifications! Go on xperia! :x

  • the bad things about this phone iz the extra large screen, think about s2 it has 4.3 inches and samsung disposed they better than this... The TFT screen and the 800 mhz processor...iz like a porshe 911-they could do it better!

  • These people are moaning about how bad the phone is but the price for an S2 for PAYG is around £400 to £450 and this phone is only £170! It is not the greatest phone in the world but why are silly people comparing a mid ranged phone (Motoluxe) to a high end phone like the Galaxy S2?? People need to seriously think before writing random rubbish.

  • Exactly, guys, in some countries{other than yours} u dont have privilege to buy apple or s2 or razr. I will be lucky to have this on.Relation between price and performance makes this phone best buy!

  • okay in the world we live in, what phone can you get for £150 that is a dual core 1.5 ghz processer? Motorola have bought out a nice spec mid range smartphone. Not everyone can afford to go out and hit up £450 plus or a £25 a month contract. So in its class it out performs any phone. Just thought i would put that out there.

  • If this is the sort of phone Motorola is releasing in 2012 then they deserve to go out of business.

  • If this is the dot of phone Motorola is releasing in 2012 then they deserve to go out of business.

  • must be announced 2010

  • It's two times cheaper than S2. What do you want? Miracles?

  • It says 230.

  • joke phone still not better than S2.

  • joke phone still not better than S2.

  • poor specs in April 2012

  • After many years of use of Sony Ericsson (Windows OS) mobile phones I finally switched to Motorola & Android and have to admit that I am very satisfied with my choice. I love my Motoluxe! Everything works just fine! Unlike with my previous mobile phones where I was experiencing a lot of problems from the very first day (very bad for a person who uses their mobile phone for business purposes like I do...)! The only thing I don't like on my Motoluxe is the bad pic quality in low/bad light conditions. Otherwise the pics are really good.

  • it doesnt have hd recording

  • 1gb rom! adreno 200! 800mhz old generation cpu! what kind of joke is this? i think motorola was thinking to release this device 3 years ago :) it's not a device for 2012

  • 450 euros??? what a joke -

  • procesor de 800Mhz:( ar fi trebuit sai puna de un 1GH macar:)

  • No Gorilla Glass?

  • pretty average specs i guess its a nice looking for for someone that is a average user and doesnt about games etc

  • You can only record VGA movs, but it can play HD(720p).

  • My opinion is quite simply that if motorola wants to sell more phones than Samsung then at least should try to be up-to-date. The average CPU is.Dual-core 1.5 Ghz and not the rubbish of 800 Mhz. As for Document is concerned at least should offer Word,Excel and Power Point.

  • Adreno 200... Fail

  • hello motto awesome phone with awesome features..............good going moto.................

  • Could you tell me if it has HD video recording or not? In specifications i see once it is HD, in other spec. not HD. weird

  • I love u motorla after i use defy+ Please keep good growing dont do markiting things like some company And my friend when. Them heard motorola them thinking not good about company But i told my friends this company strat to grow good

  • Very stylish phone wid rich looks

  • It's available in white as well some places.

  • It is amazing! but why still Gingerbread -,-, and it would be better if other colors are available, not only black (:

  • moto is best

  • Spec will work fine. Can surf, use facebook and most apps apart from the more heavy 3D gaming apps. If you want more power, such as dual core and 1 GB RAM + even better screen and res, yet same size and not much more expensive - go for the Atrix. Not much in price difference most places now.

  • Perfect size, perfect screen size to phone size ratio, great design. But why poor spec.. -_-!

  • please come soon to iran or dubei i love this phone

  • Love the design, but I'll wait for Motoluxe Plus.. (if I haven't upgraded my phone) Easily upgrade to dualcore 1ghz by just changing the SoC. Motorola had this planned like defy to defy plus. I hope Plus version will have bigger battery tho..

  • Samsung copying Motorola?? Tell me a phone which was copied by them. By the way I believe that Samsung is much more powerful than Motorola. Motorola is fantastic at one thing: battery. Samsung a year ago has taken the crown from Motorola, and had become number one in the USA as I remember right.

  • For the same amount of money I can get far better deal than Motolux and that would be Xperia Arc S!

  • why only 512MB ram? why dont moto use 1GB instead or 2GB maybe more than other phone does tis day? where is android 4?

  • This phone is 2012 phone, the standard should be raised to include at least 1GHz dual core processor in the mid tier phone. The Ram should also be raised to at least 2GHB for mid tier phone.Motorola should not just stick to the current trend and progress so slowly. It should take the lead to upgrade their hardware just like their 3300MAH battery in their Razr Maxx. If MOtorla can do this, it will becoem the leader of teh cell phone market, beating Samsung heads down. Otehrwise, if Samsung take teh lead to upgrade the standard in their software first, then Samsung will take the crown again.Be ware, Motorola.

  • it would come to indian market somewhere in may and expected price is 19000 to 20000 rs

  • yes you are true about service centres and i too love motorola devices but rarely i found them they are only available only in metros and some selected cities motorola should come in indian market as am sick of boring nokia devices!

  • Instead using 8 megapixel camera and 1400 mah battery,if it uses 5 mega pixel and 1800+ mah battery, then this phone will be the best on its price. range.

  • Samsung is the company which took photocopy of motorola mobile

  • Yeah, qualcomm is selling their MSM7xxx dirt cheap.. And motorola try to sell it like a high class device, even named it luxe as deluxe.. The design worth mid range, but uses low end chips.

  • This is a low end, single core device. There will be a quad core tegra from Asus for 250$, that means lower then this thing here.

  • wohooo one more 800 mhz fighter currently on DEFY this shud price around defy's price only then only it is good :D love MOTOROLA Devices but HATE Moto service centers (india)

  • Why motorola doesn't dare to compete with Arc S, Honor, Galaxy W. Qualcomm MSM8255T is the ideal phone for midrange. Single core, 1.4Ghz, Adreno 205. Get a bigger battery like Huawei Honor at 1900mAH, then this would be a great midrange phone. Shame on you motorola..

  • phone could have "3ghz" or watever and they could not work properly. It only depends on the OS and parts. i have tested phones that has perfect proccesor but they work slow so ... depends in which case you are addressing

  • I understand, but in its pictures the colors in it is like washed out, and also in the youtube videos made in CES 2012 the display is not shown very well. Here it just looks like my old phone, nokia 6233, which had 256k colors. I already know that it has 16M colors from its official site (link: but the images are not very clear with respect to its display, and it made me think...

  • First Defy with 800Mhz and than with same features Defy + .Only change was 1 Ghz. Motorola guys are sleeping....

  • Most likely it will have 16M. Motorola hasn't launched any 256k colored screen in a long while.

  • Does it have 256K or 16M colors?

  • Hai, May I know the realsing date and epertion price in india

  • maybe it has an 800 mhz cpu and the gpu just adreno 200 so the price can be as low as posible.around 200-250 euro.or at least i hope so.if not it is just pointless to have 800mhz and adreno 200gpu and a high price around 350euro or even more,no one will buy it.

  • What's next, Motorola? Motoluxe+ with 1GHz CPU? You're just lame...

  • then, u ought to try the motorola..i assure u, u'll be glad that u did the switch..

  • then, u ought to try the motorola...and u'll see..u'll be glad that u do the switch...

  • use latest processor 1.5ghz

  • i will wait for motoluxe plus ..... lol

  • As for me, you probably know that I am a Samsung fan. I have to decide what company will be my favorite after Samsung. It was HTC, but they have some serious problems with battery. :(

  • Shame to say that this has got only 800MHz processor! Need 1GHz least!

  • too bad it didnt even have adreno 205 atleastwhich 90% sony phones have nwadays, and the UI of sony is butter smooth too

  • Motorola is really good mobile phone. See Motorola Droid Razr. It is better than Samsung Galaxy S2!

  • with his adreno 200 and 800mhz is slower than my x10 :D Motorola this is not the way !!!

  • HUH ? WHAT ? ... i think u mean "expected two thousand and LATE !"

  • put in MSM8xxx series and battery bigger than 1700mAh and I definitely but this phone.

  • Adreno 200???? That's really slow on a 2012 device... At least a Adreno 205 GPU, that would be accurated.

  • Adreno 200???? That's really slow on a 2012 device... At least a Adreno 205 GPU, that would be accurated.

  • everything is ok,except the battery life.

  • everything is ok,except the battery life.

  • looks ugly

  • Seems to be ok, however, -With that Battery Back, this is Pure Junk...!! -Rest things are pretty neat... -I Dont understand who will a 800Mz Processor handle a 8MP camera?? -They should Increase the Battery for Sure!!

  • hi,Im fine, thanks.yes you are right again.se makes the most stylish phones in the world.I have been a se fan and my other favourite brand is lg.Ofcourse some people dont like lg phones but I think the have some stylish phones and actually I believe that they make the most stylish phones after se.some years ago I bought a lg video cassette player and after that I turnd into a lg fan and now I have a lg dvd player,a 42 inch full hd tv and a lg phone.ofcourese I have a se too.

  • Price tag in Asia is USD332.00 Some provider offer discount to loyal customer USD270.00 ( subscription 6 months )

  • great size 117 x 60 mm, fit to wallet, with good screen 4 in moto should give dual core n batt 2000mA, adreno 220

  • The cpu only 800 mhz??

  • if they sell this phone for 130 euro it will be ok...

  • very nice phone & photo comeback strongly

  • You copied the design of Xperia Active

  • Hi majid! How are you? You're a SE fan as always, or you are a Moto and SE fan? :) If we talk about the design SE use in their phones, I have to say that they make the MOST stylish phones from the world.

  • this phone has 800mhz armv7 processor with adreno 200 gpu.

  • Nice design, specifications: crap. Adreno200 in 2012 that's a bad joke, sadly!

  • 800MHz CPU is a joke

  • This is a budget mid-range phone. Not all who want a cheap phone want a small screen phone with low res and hardly any RAM to play. This brings a big screen, decent RAM and power at a very reasonable cost. The list of reasonable 4" Androids, at a reasonable price, is short. Most are CDMA devices such as the 210 Euro Motorola Triumph with a 4.1" display and 1 Ghz cpu. LG also has some 4" ones in this class, but only CDMA. If you want more power, also at a medium+ cost, get an Atrix! Want more, and can pay more? Get a RAZR.

  • Yes,you are right, but as you said this moto is cool too.motorola makes stylish phones recently.

  • I doubt it can even snap 720p

  • 800MHz MSM 7227 and Adreno 200? Really Motorola? Even in 2012?? I expected better. Disappointment.

  • simply beautiful dsign... its the first good design after LG Vievety... keep it up MOTO... make a rugged model out of this design and it will be a SUPERHIT... ^_^

  • As I guess, everything about this phone is just the same as XT615. :) Just release the phone already Motorola. We can't wait to buy. ^^

  • CPU only 800M. CPU should be 1G dualcore

  • verry ugly ...

  • It's too slow

  • Adreno 200? Motorola, why? Old crap in stylish body... why all the nice small phones have to be old obsolete craps? trash GPU, trash processor... i'm sad ;(

  • I think it kinda looks like a droid x but the GSM version

  • This is actually a feat for Motorola as they were able to squeeze a 4" display in a shell that is about the same size as the iphone 4/4S. BTW the phone looks very sexy in silver colour. Probably the best looking phone in the mid-range.

  • not bad.

  • CPU 800MHz..... Psshhhhhh.....!!!!!

  • It looks cool, but I think that SE makes cooler phones.

  • Great specs and good design. Hope the price is affordable.

  • Just 800 Mhz single core CPU and 512 MB RAM? These are middle class phone specs, what kind of high end and "luxe" phone can this be?Pity, cause it looks good...

  • 800 Mhz..????

  • The thing is good.. Processor is kind of ok.. affordable good looking android device.. battery is on the down.. but looks nice.. Looks classy.. Good connectivity.. but the only trick is the price.. hope its competitive enough..

  • ohhhhhhh nice phone
