  • I still have this unit which I haven't used for a long time. I noticed that part of its housing/ casing is made of a rubber-like material and the paint on it has peeled off and the rubber-like material has softened. How is this repaired?

  • I've still got one of these. It takes a micro SD card. What phone from 2006 had Flash support? Why u trying to compare a 7 year old phone with new phones dom kont

  • plz i want v6 motorola but in greece plz you can send me?

  • awesome...the best phone i ever had..thank you motorola!!

  • had this phone for the last 4 years and its the best. I've used it all over the world, dropped it, scratched it, manhandled it and its survived everything. I only use it for phone calls, text, some occassional internet access/downloads, not as a music player - to me it's a phone! Call quality great. Unfortunately, it finally died on me last week (one drop too many) and am now desperately searching for a genuine replacement.

  • where i can get this in doha-qatar?

  • iwant this one..im from philippines..anybody knows where to buy one of these?..

  • i want to by this mobile. Where should i got it? Pls tell me. I am from ara

  • I've had this phone for over 4 years and it still is a fantastic device. It's a shame there seems to be nothing like it available now the only reason I'm reluctantly upgrading is because it can't sync calendars with Mac os isync (it will do contacts) no problems for Windows users though. If you're happy with a fine flip phone (that is an intelligent phone as opposed to a smart phone), don't pass up a chance to get one of these.

  • I own this phone more than 4 years, and drop with uncountable times but till now i didn't face ant problem with it yet.

  • Ebay

  • i need to obtain a Motorola razr v6 maxx anybody got any suggestons where i can go

  • Motorola RAZR V6 maxx has copy and paste capabilites. To paste into Opera mini you'll have to select full screen editing in OM menu.

  • Anybody know? Does Motorola RAZR Maxx V6 can copy texts in message then paste it in create message and in Opera Mini browser (when would like to write those texts with just paste it)? Thank you before!

  • Great one

  • One of the best mobiles I had. :)

  • had a phone like this before it was gr8, loved it but unfortunately the screen goes to fast in it

  • dear friends can any one send me full phone software updates.

  • I love my Maxx V6 Ferrari. This is the 4th Motorola I have owned. I have experienced no problems with any of the buttons or menus. It Hasn't hung on me once. The Nvidia Goforce 4800 GPU makes gaming on this phone the best I have experienced so far and photos crisp and vibrant. Browsing through the gallery is hyper-fast even with high resolution photos. Mp3's through the earphones sound punchy and deep. The equaliser is a nice touch as well. I run my email through it and sync with Outlook, no problems to report there either, the MPT software bundled with the phone works perfectly and would be easy even for basic users. Internet connection speeds are brilliant when using the phone as a modem as well. This is definitely the best phone I have ever owned.

  • I so loved this phone, too bad it was stolen from me. In loving memory of my moto max v6. huhuhu...

  • Internet related software doesn't work in my handset. My mobile is from vodafone. Is there any way to transform my mobile software version from vodafone version to normal version? Please help...

  • I have had this phone for a year now and love it like no other. All of the sudden, none of the keys work except for the End Call button. All I can do it turn the phone on/off. I've restarted numerous times, removed the SIM and memory card but no change. Help from anyone who's had and resolved this problem is greatly appreciated.

  • Picked up the phone back in november 2008. Had one issue with it, the keypad stopped working. But that was back in Feb 2009, but since then have had no issues. Luv thoe phone to bits, looks great, works well the best phone i have had so far.

  • its not a good phone! i bought last dec 2007, 7 months later it was damage, the phone wont start. i went to a cel shop center hoping they could fix it, but they said they said they could not fix it, so i bought new cp. it si not wise to use moto v6.

  • u can search 4m mobango.com

  • Truly amazing phone. Pros: - It's black, it's clamshell, it's aluminium casing and keys. It has vivid screen and two cameras for video calls. Battery lasted ~6 days when it was new (25mths ago), now it is ~3 days. (remember to shutoff bluetooth, decrease brightness). Just after I bought it I modded skin theme to "Black Remedy" to get totally black, it just fits perfectly. Cons: - MP3 quality is not perfect, in fact it's little worse than in my old K700i. (remedy for this maybe better headset via miniUSB->3,5jack switch). Front glass is prone to breaking if you waear phone with your keys or in back jeans pocket. Also this phone has some issues with software/hardware. Main board fried about 16mths ago, replaced within warranty. Lately I noticed it can "freeze" sometimes, happens once a week (screen goes blank and nothing helps should be restarted). I have some clues it might be related with SDcard issues or data errors on it, it usually happens when reading media (like ringtones, videos or pictures). It's not one of those high-tech phones which are appearing lately and highly increase respect in local district, but it's more than enough the get the calls done. I'm using it as gprs modem with my laptop without issues and as my primary phone for over 2 years now and simply love it. If I had to change the phone - I'd look for another V6. So pity it's such rare model to get in Poland.

  • Motorola RAZR Maxx V6's internal display uses 240 x 320 pixel. I think the games that suitable for it are games with 240 x 320 resolution. You can find games in www.mobiles24.com. But, do they work for Motorola RAZR Maxx V6, I do not know. By the way, does Motorola RAZR Maxx V6's keypad will last long (durable)? Does its keypad made from steel? Thank you!

  • i have had this phone for 2 years now and its working as good as ever. i have been downloading some games apps for it from mobile9.com but hardly any of them work. does anyone know some sites with games for it that do work?

  • i got mine last Feb. 2008 its a great phone. i drop it several times but it still works... but last week it just gone blank and wont start again i brought it to the repair shop they said its the flex.. it will cost almost over a thousand (philippines currency).. i still want it fixed co'z its really a great phone.....

  • after using internet u must clear up all cokies and keep phone memory free

  • you can watch video on youtub just install opera mini 5 and try

  • the best phone, period!!!!

  • I read comments about this phone suddenly going blank. I had the same problem just before the end of contract. I purchased a new phone and went with another. I thought I would try it again and it has now been working flawlessly for three months. I tmakes one wonder if it is not programed to fail. I find this phone suits me as it is easy to use.

  • hey Nikita can u please let me know about moto razr maxv6,

  • hello mhajestic or any body out there who can help me! i would like to know the site where i could check for my v6 updates n flex... can't use my v6 now coz the keypads are not working..according to the mechanics, the prob is the flex but the price i almost half of my v6... but i love this phone so much...the pix, videos & music are all good & clear...i want my v6 to be fixed...pls help email me [email protected]

  • this phone is tough ! i dropped it several times but still works well.

  • Quite Similar to the V3x

  • I have this phone for 1 year now , and i m vey happy to use it since it is easy to use and no complicate menu. Best for simple ppls..

  • this phone is a very unique looking piece of device...i really like downloading my songs and pics on it...but after couple of months it starts to just freak out on me....everytime someones calling me the phone just shuts off totally and cuts back on as soon as u flip it open and when i put pics on it u can't view unless u apply as your background other than that a bigg red "x" comes up..but its really a good phone but hard 2 maintain. as its stands now that i have this phone it stil freaks out and i am about to buy another pretty soon..

  • nope.. it hasn't done anything like that on my unit.. maybe what you had the whole time was a defective one.. hence all the problems that you have been having

  • I had seen many bad comments about this phone. It's OK! But, I think Sony Ericsson is not the best. All phones have advantage and disadvantage. And no phone is perfect.

  • The design is good. The features are not bad. I like this phone. HSDPA support, no radio, 2MP camera only.

  • motorola..not motorolo..i think u just bought a faked version..

  • best ever phone so far.if you want this phone look better, just modified.go to www.modmymoto.com or motomodding.us

  • I bought this phone 2 years ago ignoring all the negative reports about this phone. To my surprise the phones mother board fried and never came back on since then. It's a good phone, but I suggest if you're planning to using your phone for long time. Don't get this one.

  • hi there i have to comment about this motorola maxxv6 ferrari edition and this not advisable to buy this because itsa mess my mobile now is not working i dont know how.i go to service center and they did not covered the warranty and they ask me to pay for the repair.that almost half of the price my godd!!!BOYCOTT MOTOROLA SCRAP THEIR MOBILE PHONES!!!

  • I agree!!!!I like it very much!

  • a beauty with a hidden beast inside!

  • i've heard bad comments on moto's phone but people seems want to buy it no matter what. just bcoz its slim and sexy? once you buy and experience prob with it. i bet you see money flying (wasted)! buy a sony instead. Sony is the best! i've used all three bands but nothing is good as sony!

  • Where am i gonna find the ferrari edition????????????????

  • It's a fail model.after one year it does not works properly.and the service centre cant get my v6 repaired.I spend one thousand ruppees but it can't repaired. So in future I will never buy MOTOROLO phones.

  • @ illker84 >dude, V6s have 2 LEDs. the one on the left (if you're facing your phone with the flip open) turns on solid if the "light on" is enabled while the second one comes on as a flash. You'll be surprised to know that V6s have a secret Red LED too! It's between the 2 LEDs and the Lens right under the "2.0". :P @ mhajestic >There're sites on the net that'll help you with flex version problems (even software problems) with a V6. I can't post the site here coz I dunno if it's illegal or what. I've been there, trust me. I'm using my V6 for over a year now and I've changed the Flex Version twice already plus other upgrades on my V6. @john >don't blame the phone dude. It's not your phones fault why the warranty got nullified, maybe somebody tampered with it without your knowledge or something. If you really want to put the blame on somebody else, blame the service center. Besides you didn't even say your problem with your phone, maybe we could help. @deelizzie >have you tried resetting your phone? Coz there was a time that I almost used up all of my V6's internal memory and it still works fine. Try resetting your phone first and see what happens. Good luck ``` Been using my V6 for over a year now ``` FLEX: Darkness TECH: Dual Mode UMTS Software Version: R261171LD_U_99.41.08R Upgrades: Sounds while closing and opening, Hyperactive Lights (SMS and Calls), Moto Speed, Battery Save, enhanced Video/Camera resolution, takes screenshots, Volume increased by 2 etc.

  • i love this mobile! its so sleek and sexy. the screen is big and bright and even without a manual, you'd know how to operate it in an instant. its that user friendly. the battery life is good, speakers are loud and the camera is very bright.

  • V6 Battery model is BZ60 its available in chennai MOTO care

  • i would like to know the model no of the battery as it is not available in india, if i know the model number it will be useful for me

  • deelizzie! I am sorry to hear that. Maybe this is my final solution because I don't have idea again to offer solution for you (I never use Motorola RAZR so I don't know about the system). Try to take your mobile phone to Motorola Service Center. Remember, no all technicians know everything include the problem about your mobile phone. Hope this will help your problem. Once again, I am sorry to hear that. Thank you!

  • i tried to use *#9999# but it says not available...now my phone is not reading the memory card i dont know why...

  • im so sorry to say but thisphone is really.... USELESS!!! so disappointed with this handset.. i thought motorola is a brand but all my expectations is now down... i don't recommend this phone!!!

  • this phone reallu sucks!!! it already repaired then now its broken.. the manufacturer said specifically motorola center cebu that they won't accept the unit because the warrant seal is broken after two months that the unit is on their hands.. how could be possible?? they accepted the unit and checked the warranty sdticker and now they are telling us that it is not covered!!! how silly of them!!! they are the one who broke the warranty sticker... UNTIL NOW IT IS STILL BROKEN!!! how come that this motorola phones specifically motorola razr maxxv6 is in the market knowing that it has a low quality??? does this phone went to quality check???The phone is just 12 months old and used it around 5 months and the rest of the months it is on the motorola center!! this phone is just a useless!!! better choose nokia or sony ericsson!!!

  • mhajestic! My suggestion, take your mobile phone back to Motorola Service Center. You can complain if your mobile phone still in warranty. As we know, nothing perfect in this world, include mobile phone. Many factors that influence a mobile phone get problem, such as drop, water unproperly use (roughly use), etc. Maybe your mobile phone is defective. Or maybe there is something wrong with its part that didn't know or can be fixed by the technician because no all technicians know everything about mobile phone problem. After it got repaired, take care your mobile phone. If you worry it will get problem later, sell it and buy a new one. Hope this will help. By the way, I am still consider to buy 3G/HSDPA Motorola RAZR or choose 3G/HSDPA clamshell Sony Ericsson later after read many opinions about Motorola RAZR Maxx V6. Thank you, mhajestic!

  • deelizzie! Glad, you read my opinion and reply me! Thank you! In my opinion, maybe there is a mistake with the software or your mobile phone is defective (I don't mean to blame you). Don't forget too, if you have ever dropped it or got it water, it will get problem too. Some mobile phones with very expensive price and very good casing like Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte maybe still strong if we drop it. But, how about the software? Usually, the software will get problem. If your mobile phone's problem (turn off itself) still exist, go to Motorola Service Center. If they can't fix your Motorola RAZR Maxx V6, try other brand. Sony Ericsson will release new mobile phone later. That is T707 (clamshell). Have you known it? I like its design and the 3G/HSDPA. If you have more money, try Sony Ericsson T707 (if it comes to your country later) or if you still want to try Motorola again, try Motorola RAZR2 V9. I plan to buy Motorola RAZR Maxx V6 later. If it is still expensive, I will see Motorola RAZR V3xx. Motorola RAZR2 V9 is very expensive for me. Oh yes, i forgot one thing! Try to not open-closed the flip too much, because it will break the flexible cable. I am currently using Sony Ericsson Z310i (has been used for 17 months now) and the clam flip count is 2.063 now. It still good. One of other Motorola user had ever told me the secret code of Motorola. He/she said, press *#9999#. I don't know what the contents are. Try it in your mobile phones! Hope this will help. Thank you for replying me!

  • well i really dont save files much as long as its not important...i dont use the internal memory bcoz i prefer to use the microsd to put the all the files...im using 1GB memory card...im using only 104MB...bcoz i dont want to cause any problem...dont know why it keeps on turning off automatically and the changing of colors from the lcd...

  • Walaikumsalam! Hi, Kareem! I think the battery life will last some days if you don't use heavily with 3G turn on. Same with you, I plan to buy Motorola RAZR Maxx V6 too later. But, if you don't need 3G/HSDPA, buy Motorola RAZR2 V8. Thank you!

  • Hi, demonicus00! I think the battery short or not is depend on you. I f you use heavily with 3G turn on, of course the battery life will last so fast. Try to turn off 3G signal when you don't need it and when your place don't get 3G signal and decrese the brightness setting. I had ever read one of Motorola RAZR Maxx V6 user opinion, he said the battery last 3 days after decrease the brightness. Thank you!

  • assalamualaikum people.... I'm planning on buying this phone but I forgot about one thing, how is the battery? I don't use mobile phones for music or imaging or net browsing (I find it a bit pointless), so I hope this phone's battery life suits me...

  • Hi, deelizzie! Hmmm... Seem your Motorola RAZR Maxx V6 get problem. But, did you use memory too much or full (internal & microSD)? From my observation read other users opinion that use Motorola RAZR there was one of user who uses Motorola RAZR V3x. He had ever saved files untill the memory full, then his Motorola RAZR V3x freeze/hang. After deleted unnecessary files, he didn't face any problem again. My suggestion, all your files (musics, pictures, games, etc) saved in your microSD. But, consume your microSD memory max. 50%. Let the internal memory free. I never use any Motorola RAZR, but I think all mobile phones (Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Samsung, LG, etc), if we consume the memory untill full, some days later, some months later (I can't make sure exactly), the mobile phones will slow even freeze. If you have any question or other comment, please reply me. Thank you!

  • my v6 smart keys wont work....its turning off..hanging..and now cant receive messages...i let it fix to the service station and they just reprogram it and now the problem is the flex!!!!

  • I've had this phone for months... And it wis perfect for simple pictures on the go, quick messaging, and almost all everything you wouuld expect from a standard phone except on a big lcd flip phone type.. the only downfall is that like most large lcd screens, it takes a lot of toll on your batteries and so does the music.. so all the rings, vibes, flashes, and calls drains a lot from my batt.. so if you keep it in silent mode.. problem solved, it can last for days

  • i bought this phone recently and i realized that there is two yellow dots inside the photo flash near the camera but only one of them is active and the other one is inactive... is it normal that all the v6's have two leds but only one can be used??

  • i hate this phone! bcoz it keeps on changing to black and white, sometimes orange, sometimes blue and when im using it for texting it hangs up and blinking. anyone experienced this problem like me?

  • Diz fone look solid king!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • check to see if its no barred by network been reported stolen or lost they will cut it off. you will get signal but unable to use.

  • Hi! I don't know exactly what your problem is. Does your mobile phone ever freeze/hang when you can't call or can't send SMS? Or did you ever face problem like I ask to malacca? My solution: consume memory max. 50-60%, don't save SMS and Phonebook to much If you still face that problem, try go to Motorola Service Center. Thank you!

  • Thank you for your information! Of my! malacca, I would like to know detail about your Motorola RAZR Maxx V6's problem because I plan to buy Motorola RAZR Maxx V6 (if still exist and not too expensive for me) later. Did you save files (pictures, musics, videos, games, etc) so much in internal memory and or microSD (consume memory untill more than 70% or full)? Do you ever drop your Motorola RAZR Maxx V6 accidently or get it water? Hopefully, you would like to tell me honestly. Thank you very much!

  • hello... 4 ur infomation... i use this phone almost 1 year and still under guarantee..no problems until last january 2009, suddenly i can't switch on. i tried to change new battery and still can not swtich on. then i send back to the shop with guarantee card. but after 3 mths later, the campany said can not repaired the things.. how come?

  • whats the talk time for ur phone..are u being serious of this phone battery lasting long

  • I've been using this v6 for 9months now. i just got this problem wherein all the incoming and outgoing services are not working. Like, i cant send sms, i cant call, i dont receive messages/calls either. I dont know what the deal is and i'm at my wits, im ready to throw this shit. anybody know what the problem is or how to fix it? btw, it works for a few minutes after i use the browser feature(connecting to the net via edge, 3G, etc)but after that it goes back to the same prob again..

  • Hi, patrick! Change to new battery doesn't always solve the problem. Since your mobile phone is a second hand, your mobile phone maybe has a problem. Take it to Service Center. If next time you would like to buy a new one, try to buy a mobile phone with authorized warranty. It's better than a second hand. Thank you!

  • Yes, this mobile phone supports A2DP. Try to use Motorola headset. Usually if the headset isn't Motorola, it won't work maximum.

  • Hi. I had this phone bought at a second-hand store and the battery is not original and as what i had heard the original battery had burst. And my problenm is at times it shuts off and the battery is completely charged but it is drained already; So, if I am going to change a new/original battery, would this problem be solved? tnx.....

  • hmmm...does this phone support A2DP? i mean it IS stated as it does..but once i tried to pair it up wif a Sony Ericsson bluetooth headset..and it could connect and play song..but the volume couldn't be increased or decreased..does it hav to do wif the phone..or becoz it was a SE bluetooth headset and ds phone is only compatible wif motorola heasets...?

  • Anony.....dude where do you only get a 6 month guarantee? All phone manufacturers offer a 1 year guarantee. Did you get the phone second hand from some dodgy little cell shop? If you did then don't trash the phone because you decided to buy a second hand phone.

  • yes duk you can use as a modem using the Motorola Phone Tools Software.

  • Hi Scelza! What's problem with Motorola RAZR Maxx V6's text message? Does your phone won't ring and vibrate when you get a text message, although you have set it ring and vibrate? What's problem with the iTap? Does it is not like T9? Thank you before!

  • I've experienced it before. (USB DEATH) it took only 2 months that i used this phone (V6 Maxx)

  • my v6maxx is already 2yrs old, and still kicking

  • i would say, that i like this phone so much, completely stylish, elegant with black in color.

  • can i use this phone as modem to connect to the internet? if yes, how? tnx in advance

  • actually I'm having a good time with this phone Its absolutely fantastic and stylish however with its external memory its only up yo 2G anyway I still recommend this phone

  • I've once used this phone and I dont like it i guess. I just accidently dropped it for just A TIME and it crack me up. The phone keeep crashing and when i turn it on, it will turn off itself like no battey while i charged it for an hours and battery are full.. now i use samsung. its better

  • It's a phone quite hard to use. Texts messages... o god... texts messages, you won't find whit ease the ringtone for texts messages, the itap (t9 predictive text from motorola) sucks totally. You must always right the sames words in order to have them... It doesn't learn anything... The camera is great, lovely photos, but you can't even edit them on the phone... The music player is HORRIBLE... i got used to my sony w300 and this motorola is way to low... I don't recomend it...

  • i have had two of these phones and found them to be incredably reliable the only problem is the internal memory probally one of the best phones they have made

  • KRZR K3 is nicer than this one....And the specs are the same, i dont understand why this as more votes than the K3....

  • paint peel off,, but good quality of speaker. break

  • This is the worst phone I've ever owned. My wife and I have one each. In 18 months they've broken down 3 times and my keypad has totally locked up. This company should never be permitted to sell trash like this to the public. An atrocious phone and totally unreliable. NEVER purchase one!

  • Yes...it has lod speaker function

  • my boyfriend got this phone, the only thing that i dont want to this model is that the rubber(cover) was easily peel....but i totally like it!

  • I just got mine today as a second phone, my first one being an Iphone, and I must say that so far I'm pretty pleased with it. I just haven't figured out where the sim card options are, or how to activate the text delivery reports. I hope the battery WILL last, and I recommend this phone, because it's quite complete, and here in Belgium it's only 79 (approx 100$) and it's the ferari one^^. Cheers everyone.

  • i got one for my brother. It works really good... Im happy with this phone.

  • Georgelec, i got something to say to you, YOUR A FAG!! you don't have to charge it everyday and surfing the web for just 20 minutes, what a joke for me i can go for 2 and a half hours browsing, so i wish Georgelec that you die lethally,no I'm not taking it back, i mean it and I'm not sorry

  • my only problem is that if there is so many text it will be a multimedia message not a normal text message, could someone help me with this, if there is please let me know

  • chan, of it does. it has 3g so it's really standard ciao!!

  • does motorazr maxx v6 have a loudspeaker? answr pls!

  • I think it's a great phone! I have one and I love it to bits. It's practical, really easy to use and I think it's the best Motorola. I'm not the biggest fan of Motorola phones but it doesn't follow the classic Motorola formats, so the layout of pretty much everything is different.. and it just makes a lot more sense. Although they break seemingly easily.. as mine is over the last year (my own fault).. I'd still buy another one. In the right light, the 2.0 mega pixel camera is better than my digital camera I reckon. =)

  • No problem at all!!Not even once has it freezed! Its very fast in response. i dont know the limit of text messages.. maximum i stored was 874 and i did not have any memory issue for that. I guess it can store as many as u can till the phone memory reaches the limit. 50mb phone memory.

  • Hi, Hanna! I would like to ask you. How many text messages (SMS) can be saved in Inbox+Outbox of this phone memory (not in the SIM card)? Have you got a problem with this phone, for example freeze/hang? Thank you before!

  • I've had this phone fr a yr now..amazinggg!! everything is so awesome..TIMMY!!!

  • mine is not charging at all i bought 3 batteries none will hold a charge i opened it up while charging and turned it on nothing if you can help me my v6 maxx is not holding a charge or even charging my email is [email protected]

  • If you are after skins please send me and email to [email protected] and i will send you the programs needed and a full list of instructions on how to install them. please use Motorola v6 skins as your email subject so i can tell between spam and real emails. Cheers Nicolai

  • If you want a a real good looking and sounding phone then this is definitely one of them. The only thing bad about this phone is it's short battery life per charge. Charge it everyday for calls and casual MMS and you'll have no problems. Forget about using it on weekends without a charger. You'll run out of battery almost for sure. Taking 20 pictures, recording minutes of video and voice and constant fiddling with the menus will last you some hours no problem. It's during the calls that the battery meter will really drop before your very eyes. Using it to view the internet would last you less than 20 minutes. Sure the phone can stay on without any use for days (maybe 4-5 days max) but when a call comes in, it'll be the only call left. The menus are very re-arrangeable and there are 7 extra buttons that can be assigned as shortcuts to Phonebook, Camera etc... The Factory arrangement of the menus and buttons are lame. So I had to spend time with the phone and assign them more practically. So if you do buy the phone, prepare to be charging it daily and to be spending time re-arranging, re-assigning the menu and buttons more practically. I almost forgot, if the phone rings and you accidentally pressed any of the three buttons outside while trying to open the phone, it'll stop ringing but the call is not disconnected just silenced. Simply open the phone and press the answer button to receive the call. And one more thing, there is a Master Clear option in the menu. It will also clear all the phone numbers and messages on the phone but not the ones on the SIM card. And yes, I remember now, the touch screen media player is a bit slow. You might think that it's not responding after touching the "Play/Pause". Just give it some 5 seconds and it'll play. Try not to keep on pressing the "Play/Pause" to make it play music. The storage is very large. 50MB internal memory and a Mini-SD card slot that can reach 2GB) A very elegant phone. Oh, before I forget, there was one problem that I encountered. I bought the phone new and it would not charge the first time. If this happens, simply try to turn ON the phone while it's attempting to charge and leave the clam shell open.

  • i help my friend purchase one of this phone and not even after a year..its broken already! tsk3x!

  • I have owned a Motorla V6 for over 18 months ...and every 6 months it fails. The LCD module and Touch Buttons stop working. Compaired to an Ericson or Nokia its junk. The plastic screen has cracked twice in my pocket. Dont expect support outside of their limited warranty ...the phone is not fit for the purpose it was designed for.

  • yeh well i hate this stupid phone, i had it for 2 days and it screwed up so we took it bak and got a replacement. it was good for a while, and now its just problems, i have 4 motorola chargers, and it wont charge off any of them. i used to be able to charge it off the usb but i plugged it in the other day and it rebooted a thousand times and turned off for ages, its been doing it non stop since. my speaker dont work, i have to have it on speaker phone to make a call and such, and my keys dont also work. i strongly advise DO NOT get this phone.

  • Hello, I have MAXX V6 phone which I've bought, brand new, in Bucharest, Romania. It works flawlessly, except some times when it suddenly locks (I cannot dial out). If I restart it, I cannot enter SIM PIN for a while (the OK in upper left is greyed). It regains normal operation after I take out the battery and let it like that for about a day. This becomes pretty annoying - is this happening to other persons, too ? Any idea, please ? Is this a hardware failure or just a software one ? Thanks a lot, Razvan

  • how many messages can you store in this fone? thnx.plz answer.. badly nidid..thnx

  • really great the obvious thing it is . the lack is fm radio only.but the performance makes you forget it . tv works good .he screen is really bright and in daylight also effective . java is good working and also supports background .mp3 player is awesome supporting the album covers . if you drop down the brigtness you can get more battery life .

  • Sorry for the delay. You want to know how I did it? Just learn to become a hacker (it's easy BTW) and you can easily fix the problem. Just download the necessary drivers and software (all are free) and use your USB cable. Flash a new monster pack (term for pre-modified software) to it and it will work just fine. Mine is almost a year old now and ever since that horrible experience, I have learned to actually take care of it a little better now. Maybe you should do the same. @ all worried Filipino V6 users: I can help you with the fixing if I can. I usually go to www.modmymoto.com and discuss in the V6 forum. PM me (or any other V6 modder)if you need help. Yeah, I know about the keypad problem and the freezing thing. That's because the V6 is the last P2K software phone of Motorola, the buggiest and crappiest of them all. At least it's fast. Try buying the ROKR E8, very sexy, sophisticated and beats the crap out of any iPod out there in terms of sound clarity. It uses Linux software this time!!!!

  • Please help!! My V6 Maxx doesn't charge at all even the USB when I plug to my computer it doesn't charge also. Perhaps I woll have to buy a Motorola DESK TOP CHARGE which is compatible with my V6-Maxx. where can I buy this in Manila, Philippines. [email protected]

  • i've been use this phone about 3 month. this phone are realy great. its cool.......

  • I have had my V6 for nearly two years. It takes great photos and videos, mp3 playback is great. A couple of months ago the phone got wet and stopped working. After it dried out I was able to use the phone as per usual. The only problem is I can no longer use the END CALL button, not even to turn the power off. This has not stopped the V6 from being a great phone, I still surf the net on it, install & use new games and content on the phone. I still make & recieve plenty of calls and messages. When the phone goes flat (the only way the power can be turned off) I just recharge it and it powers straight on again. Closing the phone disconects all calls when needed, and I just use the BACK button to get out of most other things. So as you can see the damage caused by the water was not really a problem after all.

  • i have had a motorola v6 ferrari for about 6 months now.. the phone was working just fine .. until a few days bak, wen it got stuck... actually the keypad got stuck. everything else works .just d power button on d keypad works ! i cannot make or pikup ne calls. when i tried connecting it on my computer via moto tools, it got connected and is working just fine.. once in a blue moon d keypad will start working again for some 5 seconds, nd den d fone freezes, u hav no option left but to restart it. plz advice me what to do as i gt dis phone from london and my fones warranty isnt covered worldwide...

  • I had loved this phone for just a little more than a year...up until it died with no possibility of repair (except replacing the motherboard which costs the same as buying a new phone). I was so angry, I bought it from SM Cyberzone North Edsa (Manila) where it was 5000 pesos more expensive than other outlets because of the 1 year warranty, and it died just 15 days after the phone warranty expired, how's that for irony. And the people at the service center in SM North Edsa, awful people who don't know what they're talking about and don't care about customers. A woman named Ana just keeps blabbering on with obviously no idea of what's happening and just wants you to leave ASAP. I highly advise you to treat this service center as a last resort. To be fair to the phone, it had great features, loved the solid feel and design, games, videos, music, HSDPA, camera, all good. Except for the fact that it just dies beyond repair for no reason and no warning. Am i just unlucky for getting a dud? Maybe. For those considering buying this phone though, just know that this could be a risk you're taking.

  • no my v6 is not yet repaired b'coz it cost at about 5000 pesos to buy new motherboard, just like buying a new one, Im using a Nokia n82 now and all i can say is i love this phone

  • my phone did the same thing. it froze while i was writing a text message. so i took the battery out and now it refuses to turn itself back on. the battery was full and even with plugging it into the charger it will not turn on. did you get yours fixed for cheap?

  • Do this Phone have a FM Radio?

  • this phone motorola maxx v6 just died, and when i have it checked by the technician he told me that it is better to buy a new one than having my unit repaired.WTF! this phone has elegant design and good features but overall i say this its a crappy motorola phOne.moto guys i hope you can fix this problem with your V6 units

  • I just want to post this review for a very unfornate experienced with motorola phone V6 max and the store in MOA Philippines where I bought it. I like the features of this phone especially if you talk about MP3. The quality of the sound is extremely good when you want to hear music and see videos. This phone is also fast if you brouse in the internet. However after 3 to 4 months of using the phone the keypod system malfunctioned and I have to bring it there for repair. It took me almost 2 to 3 months to wait because they told me the parts will still come from Japan. So I asked for a service phone and they provided me with one. But, is this how the repair process have to take long? Finally I got the phone and the warranty was extended only for another 2 months.. I did use the phone, it was not even a year that same problem had occured and I was already out of the warranty. I have to bring it back (Motorola store in MOA Philippines) for diagnosis and I was informed that the fee is just like buying a new phone so I didn't have it repaired. My sentiment is motorola is a good phone but it is not sturdy and the people in that store are not customer friendly. For me they are arrogant. I hope motorola will have do something about their phone and their personels especially Motorola Store in MOA Philippines. I was really very unfornate because the bad experience did not end in just one phone but in another phone I bought in the same store L72i. The keypod laminated coating has peeled off in just 10 months of usage. Is this a factory defect??? I have read good reviews of motorola phones but I am just unfornate to get one probably with a factory defect but the experienced I have with the store personels I won't forget. My family will not go back in that store ever. I hope store owners will have to look into this matter for a better service and care to their customers...

  • This fone has lasted me 2 years now. Da battery last a minimum of 1 week after I have had it for so long! I never have had one problem with this fone, its great.

  • i just bought this phone 3days ago. i really liked this phone ever since it was out on the market. at last i get to have one myself but i had a PROBLEM. when i try to call or receive a call the sound is choppy or grabbled and you cant understand a word. it's the same when you use the headset or do it on loud speaker. i gave it to motorola repair center and cant fix it and has to be sent to the main office. if ever i get that fixed i'll sell it and got back to SONY ERICSSON!!!

  • Change network to 2G by going to Setting>Network>Band>800/1800/1900

  • How you did it?because i really excited with this phone from the design....is any other way to increase the battery power?thanks. reply me at [email protected]

  • Hi everybody, can help me? I see the one of this V6's spesification is has a HTML browser, that is Opera 8. What kind of Opera 8? Is it like Opera Mini 4.1 or Opera for Symbian UIQ? Is the movement of 3x4 grid menu display slow? (that I know this V6 has CPU class ARM 9, and the CPU clock speed is 241 Mhz? Thanks before!

  • I have bene a loyal Motorola user for a decade (and I still am) but this is the first mobile handset that let me down. After 9 months careful use, the handset just died on me. It was fine then after it had been switched off for half an hour it would not switch on again. I was gutted, because I had loved it to that point. It could be slow in moving between screens and signal reception during calls wavered about a bit. - Sadly I coudn't get it replaced by the manufacturer. I have had to move onto a different motorola model through the same service provider which is fine, but lacks a lot of the features of the Maxx V6. The V6 is a great phone if you want one that has all the functions: Video calls, camera, music, etc. However from my experience, you may be taking a risk and trading reliability to get it.

  • hi, can someone tell me if the exterior lights flash when you are listening to music? I know they do when by a incoming call, but what about mp3 player? hope for a fast answer! greets

  • it is one of the best phones i have ever used. the sexiest body motorola has ever made it is really very very elegant phone

  • @jjsoviet ok, if you really revived your v6, tell us how you did it so we "motorola haters" that has a dead v6 can be helped and maybe change our mind and LOVE motorola. hmm??

  • This phone is available on HSDPA 850 in Australia from Telstra.

  • well well well this phones sucks because even it has a touch screen in front of it it can't stand a music playback for 2 straight hours hahahah the only problem in this phone is the battery..... and the flash in the camera you can use it as a flashlight but the down side is you must turn it on every time you want to capture a photo in dark....

  • Wow, a LOT hate Motorola for handset quality problems. I understand that early models have software drags and such but a lot has changed now. Take a good look at the RAZR2 series, ROKR E8 and the RIZR Z10. These addressed most of the problems of the older phones like the RAZR 1 series and others. You cannot just hate a whole company just because a particular product sucked badly. There are other products that might suit your taste. And also, if you're good enough in hacking the software, you can easily bring a Motorola phone back to life. My V6 had problems too and I thought at one point that I lost my phone. Yet I solved the problem through some tweaks. And here I am happy that I still use my trusty V6 for nearly a year now. By the way, the new Motorola still has its tricks up its sleeve. Its new Kodak-inspired ZN5 promises features never before seen in a camera phone and the successor to the successful E8 is nearing too. So don't judge Moto yet.

  • the quality of photos is good??

  • my V6 screen just disappeard... motorola cant fix it.. DONT BUY MOTOROLA FONES... believe me...

  • @Edward i have this phone for a year, no problems at all, lucky me =P now im pairing it with my S9 headset

  • can i use motorola v3 in dubai?

  • @moto4life What made you assume that the phone I'm bashing was bought in a black market? The phone was bought in a legit dealer aka Globe in the Philippines. It even has that hologram sticker on the box. The truth is I'm not bashing it. The phone is cool but it just degraded in less than a year, I'm just telling my experience that's all. And from your name it just says fanboy all over it. Sure we like brands but the moment you can't accept that a brand has been making products that are not high quality and still saying that's not true then you have a problem. Motorola can win me back if and only if they make a quality phone for the average consumer.

  • Edward, that's the problem with buying from the black market, the risk of getting defective phones. Tell your relatives to buy from authorized dealers next time. Why bash Moto? You don't even have one. Maybe you're using a Nokia 636 or some such model and proud of it!

  • this phone rules!i have the ferrari limited edition and I have it for 1 year!still no problems!

  • to those who are planning to buy this unit, please reconsider other brands. i had this fone for only 5 months, it suddenly turned off on its own and wen i'm charging it, the charging light is not working too..so guys, i suggest that you consider other brands instead!

  • I have a brother who owns this. He bought it when it was hot but in less than a year it broke down. What a useless phone. My sister has a motorola phone but not this model but it also broke down in less than a year. And from many other forums that I have read, users are complaining about the short battery life, the rubberized casing easily wearing down, hanging OS, the phone not displaying anything. So motorola phones are bad it's just poor quality overall. There's another thing the design hasn't changed that much at all in the last 3 or more years. That tells you a lot.

  • what the heck is wrong with motorola?! i liked their phones, but now that i had this phone, im starting to hate 'em. i just bought my phone 2 weeks ago, and now it just passed out. it wont turn on and wont even charge! | hey, i didn't even flash it or play with the phone. i was just texting and calling. and then died?! what the heck.

  • These phones are full of problems.. Ive had mine replaced 3 times now as the keys lock and you cant phone or text.. cant even phone your network to complain.. I would advise against.

  • the rubber casing of my phone is being worn out. and there is NO STOCK in all the motorola service centers where im from, i have been calling all of them. whats with motorola?! they make phones but no housing? i got prices of the housing from another place and replacing the whole housing costs half of the price of the original unit. DONT GET A MOTOROLA, it'l only giv u headaches

  • I had one of these phones for just over 6 months and its been nothing but trouble since new. been away for repairs. Phone still crashes (reboots). It will be the last Motorola I ever own. Used to be a good brand

  • I hear maxx's camera can be a webcam. it is true or not?

  • Is there any other way i can mod my phone besides modmymoto? please help... i prefere sites where i don't have to register

  • can we restrict text messages from others on maxx v6

  • I have had massive problems with this phone -not charging, new battery dying after 2 hrs with no talk time, won't read software, reset and lost all pictures, bottoming off network about 70% of the time. I had it replaced and the replacement is also defective - third time in for repair within and still no better. I know of 2 other people with similar problems.

  • I was thinking of replacing my L7i with this or the Razr2 v9 since moto phones price are dropping and I will give the L7i to my sister. So far I only like the v9 because of the new software but I HATE THE KEYPADS and battery life is bad. For the v6maxx, I think the only downside is the old software and the rubberized casing. What do you guys think?

  • Hey. I have locked my phone with the application lock, and forgotten the pass number. The phone doesn't let me enter my security code either, so if any1 knows how i could unlock it i would be grateful. Email me at [email protected] Cheers.

  • Hi :) i wanna know are this v6 is lag/slow in the menu or when running a java application?? Is it true the battery is bad?? And what jack used for this phone for headset, a 2.5mm jack or 3.5mm jack ?? Thx 4 replies my post :)

  • in displapy quality which one is better v3xx or maxx v6 or in funtionality also

  • to RaMiRa friend please tell does maxx v6 has option for blocking 'text' messages or 'calls' from specific senders,if so than i will instantly buy this phone, remember i am talking about text messages blocking not about mms blocking from specific sender which option is also in other motorolas okay i am waiting of ur reply sorry for my bad english

  • One serious gripe I have with this phone is its extremely short battery life. Other than that,it is great!

  • Visit Our Site .. www.modmymoto.com

  • @ Sunny Prior to theme installation you will need to download the Skin Manager Program, Winrar, & RSD Lite.. Please go to www dot mobile9 dot com for further instructions.. Enjoy! always, Rick (tm)

  • Guys... can anyone help me with ... how to install themes to my V6?? i can't find the option to install after download from internet. from Zip file how to install to my phone??? Please...~! tq

  • does the LED light at both sides & the motorola logo light up when there is a text message?or when there is a call only?tnx..

  • Yes! Maxx V6 can be modded. I have modded the volume table of my V6 and have now increased it!! Sound reproduction is of excellent quality!! I have edited the lighting, creating my own style. Increased the camera quality (which was already great) and now its fantastic! Converted video recording to "fine" .MP4 format with unlimited recording.. and still modding goes on ;) :d

  • If your phone doesnt start up anymore. 1 thing. Battery dead. Happend to me i put in different charger and next thing i knew it burned out so get a new battery if yours just start up lightly.

  • ia hava a problem...on my downloading page...on wap...i get authentification error...when i try to download yahoo go 2.....what is the problem and what shell i do

  • can V6 Maxx be modded?what are the improvements?will there be new menu icons?and HOW? thanks..

  • this is indeed a cool phone until the time comes that it would suddenly hang and be defective. you cannot power it on. it will only have a green light once connected to a USB port. in this case, it would be a very expensive paper weight. be sure to get a warrantied item as this is fragile.

  • this phone is actually good. the specs are good, the look is way over the average, the performance is great. this phone is the best phone i have ever gotten myself.

  • Yes, it does have A2Dp profile and it works perfectly.. Why dont you master reset the phone and then try pairing it!

  • @ kwzzz purchasing accessories from the same mobilephone brand, especially in your case it's a bluetooth headset, is not advisable! Yes, because these stuffs are made covered by certain rules / regulations of use, in short these accessories are "selfish" or "dependent" in nature, most of the time they only depend on the specific brands & at times, badly, they only can be used on or shall i say they are only designed for a specific handset of a certain brand.. Just a reminder, if you are the type of individual who likes to use various mobilephones from different brands, may i suggest when buying accessories especially bluetooth headsets, you may drop by at any "independent manufacturers" of accessories, because most of the time they create things that surely are all compatible for all brands! Trust Me!:) But, don't forget to read & ask the personel so that you are properly guided. -Rick (tm)-

  • does this phone support A2DP...? i tried pairing it wif a sony ericsson wireless headphone...it couldn't increase and edcrese the music volume...after tht i tried it on a Jabra headphones...it couldn't even pair up...or is it because it can onli support motorola wireless headphones...?

  • Well, I just got my phone back from Motorola and it is working again. There is no explanation as to why it got stuck in the first place. Since it was out of warranty by a few days and Motorola decided to fix it free of charge anyway. So I am happy with with the service I have received from Motorola in this regard.

  • the motorola razr v6 maxx is a nice phone i would stick with it it is a next g mobile cheers nick!!

  • Whilst browsing the internet the other day my phone got suck here no keys would work. I could not turn it off so took the battery off. Now it won't turn back on no matter ehat I do. The battery is fully charged and still charges up. I notice looking through the opinions that at least one other person has had this problem. I am taking it in to be repaired today if it doesn't cost too much.

  • This fone is so cool and amazing and strong. i dropped it while driving at 80 kph on the highway and went out to get it and found only a couple of scratches. I SWARE I AM NOT LYING!!! :-)

  • Motorola has become the Stock, Aitken and Waterman of the mobile phone world -- like the pop-producing team, it's found a formula that works and is sticking to it religiously. As a result, the Maxx looks remarkably like the previous incarnations of the Razr design. Thankfully, though, it's not just a reheat of yesterday's leftovers because under the bonnet it's tuned for speed, thanks to its support for the super-fast 3G standard HSDPA. If, however, you haven't experienced Motorola's menu system before, you'll find it unintuitive, and you'll also have to spend some time adjusting to its iTap predictive text system, which is significantly different to the more common T9 system found on rival handsets. Still, this remains a very stylish handset that's great for connecting to the Web on the move, thanks to the large, brightly lit screen and its support for speedy downloads. The phone is currently available free on contract with Orange, but you'll also soon be able to buy it SIM-free online for around 220. Design Motorola really hasn't strayed far from the original Razr design with the Maxx. At 15mm thick, it's still super-slim, especially by the standards of 3G phones, and it retains the stylish keypad, which is made from etched metal -- although this time the keys are slightly wider. The only major design update is the hardened glass finish on the front. This covers the small external colour screen and also hides three dedicated music buttons for fast forward, rewind and play/pause. Like the touch buttons on LG's Chocolate phone, these only light up when you run your finger over them. We found they can be a bit slow to respond, though. If you want to use the phone for music, you'll need to boost the 50MB of internal memory using the microSD card slot. Unfortunately this isn't very easy to get at because it's hidden under the battery cover. We would have much preferred to have it tucked away on the side of the handset like Samsung managed with its equally slim Z560. The keypad itself hasn't changed all that much from the original Razr, but that's no bad thing as the keys are well spaced out and easy to use for texting. And, unlike keypads on some rival models, the back light is very bright so you can see the keys in the dark. Features Flip open the handset and the first thing that hits you is the large and brightly lit screen. It looks very sharp, thanks to its 240x320-pixel resolution, and really comes into its own when your fire up the Web browser using the dedicated button on the keypad. The Maxx is a quad-band handset, so you'll be able to use it in most countries around the world, but it's primarily designed for use on 3G networks and so features dual cameras for video calling. The secondary camera captures low-grade VGA-quality video, but the main snapper mounted on the outside of the case can take 2-megapixel pictures. One neat trick is that this camera can be started up when the phone is shut by pressing a button on the right-hand side. This calls the external screen into play as a viewfinder, making it easy to frame group shots. Motorola has had a go at cleaning up its menu system, but you'll notice when using it that there are still times when all logic appears to have been abandoned. For example, after snapping a picture using the camera, you're given the option to send it, however you can only use this option to send via MMS or email. If you want to send a picture via Bluetooth you have to first save it to memory, exit the camera application and then open it up in the media folder. Only from here can you choose to send it via Bluetooth. It's very frustrating. The Maxx V6 supports the A2DP (stereo Bluetooth) profile, so you can link it to a pair of wireless Bluetooth headphones for listening to music. The music player can pump out tunes in MP3, WMA and AAC formats and it's very easy to create your own playlists of the tracks stored on the phone. We connected it to Orange's Stereo Bluetooth Speakers and found that the sound quality was very good, especially the deep bass on tracks like Damian Marley's Welcome to Jamrock. Performance Where the Maxx really stands out is when it's connected to the Web via the super-fast 3G HSDPA service. We tried it with an HSDPA SIM from T-Mobile and the results were really impressive. Google News loaded much more quickly on the handset's browser than we've experienced on non-super 3G handsets. On a speed test using the phone's built-in browser we got a real life download speed of 324.5Kbps, which isn't bad. When we used the phone as a modem for our laptop, however, we got a far higher speed rating of 1.1Mbps, which is faster than some people's ADSL broadband connections. The audio quality during calls was also good, with the handset sounding crisp and sharp. Despite the phone's slimline design, the built-in speaker is quite loud and worked very well in speakerphone mode. Camera phones rarely produce stunning snaps, and in this regard the Maxx is pretty much par for the course. The pictures from the 2-megapixel camera are reasonably sharp, but the colours tend to look slightly washed out. It's lacking autofocus, too, so you have to be careful to avoid blur. That said, it does have an LED flash, so you can get viewable results in low light. Motorola says the battery is good for around 380 hours on standby and five hours of talk time. We had to charge it after three days of use, but we were using it for a lot of battery intensive tasks, such as 3G downloads and music playback over Bluetooth. The Maxx's closest competitor is the super-3G Z560 from Samsung. Both phones are remarkably similar, right down to the three touch-sensitive music buttons on the front. We found the Samsung's menu system easier to use, although the Maxx feels like a sturdier handset, but in truth there's very little to choose between them. Maxx Outshines the others!!

  • AWESOME PHONE!!!!! LOVE IT VERY MUCH!!!! iconic look, handles multiple tasks well; if you are listening to a song while browsing the Web, and encounter online audio or video, the song will stop, then resume after you've had your Internet multimedia fix..those not familiar with the Motorola user interface are in for a bit of a shock as it takes some getting used to.. it's a top performer all round...2.0 mega pixel camera for still photography, and a VGA camera for video calling. Both are excellent.Lovely Music player(sounds better with custom earphones), fast menu interface (presence of nvidia graphic card)...more futuristic look, with its combination of metal and glass and the cool touch sensitive music keys..Enfin, I found it to be very satisfying after the latest software update available in motorola website(major bugs have been removed)!! Thumbs UP!! to the founder of mobile phone!!

  • wat does it mean by 'ur computers processor isn't compatible'??? it happened when i was trying to install the driver to mod my phone...

  • I am currently owning a V6 and it's great...even greater when I modded it from the skins to the phone flip's lights. I am really impressed with this one and its 3g speed is unbelieveble. It iseasy to mod, just make sure to backup and have the right stuff before doing anything. You can go to www.modmymoto.com for your Motorola modding needs. And to those who say that this phone is easy to break...RAZR's are always delicate phones, they require care and constant maintenance and they can repay you many times over. Virtually any phone isn't tough enough to withstand wear and tear so don't tell that this phone is too breakable. It really depends upon the user.

  • Crippled phone :( . I have the Vodafone Live version, on Vodacom SA. It cannot do many video formats, even some 3gp. I wish it could do Flash and other formats. Has problems with most social networking sites, very frustrating. Updates never available. Internal browser poor. It can download and run other Opera browsers, a relief. Plays music ok. Works great as an HSDPA modem, very fast, could even run on Win98 over Bluetooth dongle. The MPT software is a bit buggy. Obviously the current firmware is very limiting, I am very tempted to flash it with updated unofficial firmware but scared to invalidate the warranty. The phone is very flimsy, the outer glass cracks very easily

  • Yes you can use the phone as a modem provided you installed MPT on your computer.

  • This phone is great only for a short period of time. After months of regular use the rubber skin starts to peel off. How bad is that?! Then the OS starts to operate not the way it used to. Absolutely no one can call you because the phone won't ring. I had to take it back for repairs but that costs a lot. It would be better to buy an older phone that has high quality than a phone that easily breaks down less than a year.

  • This is a daang gooood fone. Use da new firmware n software, then you've got Maxximize Razr V6....viva modding Maxx!!!

  • This is what i got back from an email about the alarm problems. Regarding your concern, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. In order to erase an alarm, please highlight it, press the Menu Key and select "Delete". Should you need any other assistance do not hesitate to contact us back.

  • can it be used as a modem for a computer just like other 3g phones?

  • Ok, I feel dumb... but how do you remove an alarm? I have some on there and now can't get them off. (I can turn off the alarm fine when it goes off, its the removal I can't figure out)

  • Why is it that I cannot activate my alarm clock? It says "NEW ALARM" - alarm full. No more no less. Please HELP! thanks

  • Modding all Motorola phones require patience and skill (and also some programs and a USB cable) but everything will be alright as long as you do it right. Modding is very fun, for Motorola's "cheap" operating system is easy to modify like Linux. This will enable the phone to maximize its potential.

  • Are there keypad imprints on the screen, as by V3/V3i!? Thanks

  • to the person below me yeah i modded my phone and its safe you just need to fowlo the instructions carefully a good site is www.modmymoto.com

  • TO Laukw, You have the latest version of the software. As my phone has the same as yours either. nothing to be worried.

  • TO Xolani BUDDY if u are an owner of v6 than please tell me the sentence used widely by many users that v6 offers ground braking functionality is right if so than how u define it,this question is also for other user thanks in advance

  • i don think this fone is up to the rokr z6. rokr is betta but this is good fone 2

  • In my opinion, V6 looks better. But overall, the Z6 maybe the one to go with. In terms of functionality & power, Maxx wins. V6 also has a bigger main screen. It's Nvidia GoForce 4800 GPU is a better performer for its battery consumption; whereas the Z6's 500mhz arm11 processor is a gas guzzler. In terms of media & customization, Z6 wins. The Z6 has a better music & video experience. You can play videos at full QVGA resolution on Z6. Maxx is stuck at QCIF which is simply ridiculous since it has a QVGA screen & GPU supports it. Z6 is also QuadBand while the Maxx is Triband. I'd go with the Maxx, because its totally manipulatable using P2kTools, but if you want to save yourself some headache & time, go with the Z6.

  • hey guys hats better motor maxx v6 or rokr z6

  • if your unit comes with a "planet 3"branding & if you hate it like me.hahaha!!!flash it with unbranded firmware.visit www.modmymoto.com there you can choose on stock monster packs and the members can help you with your problems on your moto.love my v6 maxx!!

  • GUD AM! does anyone knows how to get rid of message and subject heading from the message of the recipient? thanks!

  • batter lasts great if you dont use it goes down fast in regular use

  • the battery life is only good for 24 hours or less, that is, if the event lights, ring lights and all other lights are turn off, as well as the vibration alert and keypad tone, you just have to bring along with you your charger everytime you go out, all other features are great!

  • Has anyone who purchased this phone within the past couple months experienced a slight wiggle on the hinge when the flip is closed? I'm just wondering if Motorola has fixed this issue.

  • nice one! have a quest... multimedia processor??? i was thinking of buying z6, but too expensibe for me.. does this1 compare to z6? or z6 is just way too good than this as it loooks?? tnx

If you plan to change your 6630, buy 6110 Navigator, 6500 slide, or the cheap-as-chips 6120 Classic. I promise you won't regret it! All 4 of my Motorolas broke less than 3 months! Now proud user of Nokia

I would like to change it for the ferrari edition but does anyone know where to get it from and how much it is. My phone is under warranty, do you think I could get them to change it for the ferrari edition?

  • has any one had a problem with the screen the power comes on but the screen is just black the screen even lights up but theres nothing on it can anyone help me

  • To all; I got this phone in the beginning of the year, didn't bother to come back and give a review. But since people are still asking questions, and I'm bored, I might as well give opinions and how-to's for things. This is indeed another RAZR reincarnation, but it's impression left upon it will be none like it before. If you've played with a RAZR, you might not be as impressed, but it IS indeed better. After using my 3rd Motorola phone (the first were the T720 & V220) of course this phone was an improvement one what their phones were like about 3 years ago. Then using the rest of the RAZR inspired series after this V6, I found that it was a big change up from the V3, and VERY different from the K1(m) series. About the battery, yes this phone is a one day phone if you're big about multimedia, but each minute will not go to waste. Usually, without freezing or restarting on you every 3rd week for some absurd and unknown reason, this phone is a no-nonsense phone for people who care about phone calls, quick pictures, easy to access or two touch music playing. This phone as well is fun to use, and at it's release time, faced off with the W850. The W850 has it's perks; being able to hotswap with any Sony accessory (PSP, Camera), heartbeat illumination during incoming calls and music playback, walkman 2.0 + Track ID. But this phone I find is better, other then the lack of the 850 band, ironically. (Y'know, W850 has the 850 band... anyway) Unfortunately, I found that this phone was not tri-band HSDPA too late and it was only a UMTS phone, which meant that it could not work with the Canadian Video Calling or HSDPA internet service, and I put it down for Roger's video phone SGH-A706(Z560). But with an unactivated simcard within it, it's a very useful... peice of technology. It's like an MP3 player with an organizer, alarm, notepad, world clock, voice recording, calendar, calculator, light, camera & games. Unfortunately, I have to admit that my V6 was made in China though... As well, to the person who was talking about the Opera 8 application, it's actually the internet browser for this phone. If you go to the browser, and go to options -> About It says that the browser is Opera 8.

  • does it plays small videos from your memory stick?

  • DO NOT GET THIS PHONE IF YOU ARE AN AMERICAN AT&T CUSTOMER!!! I was happily using my SLVR L7 for over a year, and upgraded to this. Although Motorola has improved virtually every single application over previous phones, there is one important thing that renders this phone nearly useless for AT&T customers. Lack of the 850 MHz band. This is a tri-band phone, and AT&T customers need to purchase a quad-band phone. For all the Moto hackers out there, there is not yet a defined way to mod this phone into being quad-band as with many other tri-band phones. As much as I enjoyed using and playing with this phone, I was frustrated with the most important thing a cell phone is supposed to do....make & recieve phone calls. Other than this problem, this is an outstanding phone, which runs very fast and very smooth. Unfortunately, I held to re-sell it and replace it with the ROKR Z6, which has pretty much all the same features and then some, to include quad-band. I have been using, hacking, and modding Motorolas for over 2 years, and swear by them. They may not have the BEST features on the market, but if you are willing to learn them, it pays off in the end as I can customize my phone to act and appear any way I choose, allowing me to truly make my phones unique. Not to mention the fact that I haven't payed a penny for a ring tone, wallpaper, theme, skin, or game since I began using Motos.

  • anyone from the philippine? just like to know how to turn this phone into a modem so i can surf the internet in my computer faster since this is a hsdpa phone? does it also charge when you connect it to a pc or laptop? what are the requirements for the computer like should it be windows xp? tnx.

  • hi guys , I just installed 100 games on this phone. I tried to download them using limewire. pro. Can someone tell me how to set this phone to 2.5G (GSM) instead of 3G so the battery won't be drained. thanks!! moto still rocks !! : )

  • overall , i can say that the phone is great!! but what i don't like about this one is the keypad. i'm really having a hardtime locating the right keys. haha! its true that your battery will drain if it is set to 3g all the time.can someone tell me how 2 set the network to 2.5 g? thanks! moto rocks!! : )

  • Julius; It's the mainboard, change it with warranty.

  • SsarahH; No, but you can get a javaapplication for that.

  • are their any colours of this phone except black? write back if you know

  • does this phone have the 850MHz band???

  • Can anyone help me!!??!!?? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Does the Motorola RAZR V6 maxx have a stopwatch or timer?? URGENT HELP NEEDED!! Please email me!! Thankzz

  • Ive bought my V6 just one month ago and its already dead. With my V6 happened exactly the same thing which was described couple articles prior black screen and no reaction when you charge it. It is totally dead. It a pity, I wanted to try something new (all my previous phones were Nokias), probably I will go for Nokia again

  • i've been thinking if i will buy tis phone.. i've been comparing this with the SE w610i...which of the v6 nd the w610i has the better camera??does the secondary camera of the v6 is good??and which has faster application??and which of the two has better battery life.. .will you reccomend this fone to me??thanks a lot!!

  • 3 mins is the new standard of moto phones! my v360 had only 1 min!

  • I have this phone and have the same problem as Gemma. My phone with Bluetooth on automatically disconnects after 3 minutes of use. This is quite irritating and it does this with all Bluetooth devices when on a call.

  • Ygye if the phone is made in china, no wonder it has a crap motherboard

  • I been hearing alot on other sites now including this one that Motorola maxx v6 dies outer no where and wont come back on. You would try everything from replacing battery to chaging chargers. I even saw this before where your "dead" would work in another phone. Well unfortunately your Maxx is dead and there's nothing that can be done except for replacing the mainboard. I've had 4 Maxxes die from this and all but one replaced under warranty. The last one had to be sent away to have the mainboard replaced (still under warranty though). I know this isn't what you wanted to hear but unfortunately that's where you're at. I tried everything and contacted everyone who may have been able to help me (including Alpha) but your mainboard is dead....most likely from pulling the battery during flashing because there's a USB issue with the Maxx, especially if the battery is removed whilst the handset is connected via USB. Sometimes the mainboard is damaged after a simple contact sync with MPT (via USB) and Motorola is well aware of this issue. However, the problem doesn't become apparent until after the phone has been switched off (AFTER the damage has already been done) - and then it never turns back on again. The battery is not the problem either so don't bother buying a new battery.......as you've already realized, your battery works fine in any other phone. It's definitely a dead mainboard. So as u guys can see, this phone has major problems and motorola needs to do something about it or just discontinue.

  • Can anyone tell me how to turn and leave on the bluetooth on this phone? I can only get it to turn on for 3 minutes at a time. Thanks

  • This phone quite great... 1 question... Is the texting using iTap lag like L7 or V3i?

  • Everything is here... but after 2 weeks of use the phone squeaks

  • HI,i have one problem with this phone, every time someone is sending me a .gif/animation picture (using the bluetooth) it does not work! i cant find it on my phone! i've checked every single folder.. Normal pictures if sent by bluetooth works good,i can find them in picture folder, PLEASE someone help me i'm so dissapointed :(

  • Do not buy this phone i repeat do not buy this phone. The phone died and it won't come on. I was thinking maybe the battery drain out and its now time to buy a new one. Well just before i went to buy anything, i tried my battery in my friends's V3t and it works. Fully charged and everything. But on my phone it doesnt even works. Called mototrola and they basically said they can't do notthing about it cuz its not a U.S phone. According to them U.S motorola phones and japanese motorola phones (like this one) are built with diffrent versions in it. So there go my 1 yr warranty. Wat a waste.... Like i said i do not recommend this phone to anybody. It may or may not have happen too other people who has this phone yet but it will.

  • THE BATTERY DOES NOT SUCK!!! Make sure u have the BZ60 battery that should come with the phone... then make sure u dont have the network set to Automatic cos then it would always search for 3G signal before GSM and that drains battery on any phone no matter what maker. Set it to 900/1800 (2.5G) which is GSM... trust me u'd have a battery that will last at least two days with normal phone use... and that does not include playing music for 5 hours or watching/taking pictures and video's all day. i man normal phone use LIKE CALLING AND TEXTING AND THE OCCASIONAL MULTIMEDIA USE.

  • the battery does SUCK!!!! i cant believe it..one day usage and it is dr ained. if you make calls, your lucky to get a halfday worth of battery.

  • Great phone...awesome features and no bulges in my pocket when I'm carrying it around!

  • this is one of the best creations of moto ....

  • just make sure to configurate ur phone with the t-mobile txt mess settings, so u dont have that problem with delay txt.

  • Good build quality...video is terrible compared to Nokia N70 (previous phone). Features are not impressive. Downloads were not saved if I selected the memory card location...I had to save to the phone memory and then move to the memory card. Box only includes battery & charger...pretty sad considering the steep price.

  • im gonna get this phone next week.i've read a couple of thing about the phone and it seems that everything has it's work around, from speaker volume, skins and all that. one thing i hate to think about is the battery life..... any other battery that would fit this phone which has a longer battery life? i'm so exited to mod this phone! hahahahaha

  • Currently i am using v3x and its great. I thought about taking maxx v6, but it doesnot have autofocus or the manual focus like that in v3x. I just dont get it ,- why remove a fature like that ?

  • damn..i got this phone.. it is realy gud but one thing i hate.. THE BATTERY LIFE SUCKS! everyday i charged my phone.. this is crazy!

  • does anyone has this phone with t-mobile? how is the text message?? I heared sometime it can delay the messages and stuff so you receive text messages from days ago.. please respond as soooooon as possible!!!

  • no 850

  • does this cellphone have the 850MHz GSM frequency/band on it?

  • Dis is a cool phone 2 hav it.Slim enough to handle the phone with the stiylish Oklye glass with Bluetooth divece also... so where is ur V6 ???

  • the fone looks stylish. i loved it.. but my talktime is jus to much? does it have a gr8 battery life?? pls advise honestly. or advise ne flapfone with good batt life. THNKS!

  • i love this phone its great! ive had no problems so far the only downside to it is the front which is glass so it gets lots of finger marks on it easily and for the first month you have it your realy woried about dropping it (cos the front is glass) but other than that the phones great and id recommend it!!

  • This phone may not be as flashy as the U700 and other phones that attracts us with their outside appearance. Truth be told, this phone is the "bomb"! Other phones lose their appeal after a couple of days. We get bored with them, especially if they dont perform according to the industry standard. Sure everybody says tha rzr design is so last 3 years ago. But how can you go wrong with a "classic?" Does one say that the Porsche Carrera car design is so 70's? Sure the v6 may not look appealing outside. But it delivers where it counts most--- in the inside! I had this phone for 2 months and it just keeps getting better. Now this is real value for your hard earned money! You can't go wrong with the V6.

  • i have modded my phone with the FLASH coming on with ring lights, and a bunch of other stuff. like increasing the volume so the headphones sound good. but anyone tell me if DURING a call you can use SPEAKERPHONE and then CLOSE your phone? mine just hangs up.

  • COOL!!! after i read this i bought this phone.. and tom i'L get the phone..... waow... im so eager to check it out...

  • Hi. I'm also interested in buying this phone. The reviews looks good!

  • i love this phone! my first motorola, i've tried nokia, siemens & samsung before. i love the look, really cool, plus the touch screen lights. a 2GB memory card really made this my mobile entertainment, screen resolution is good. i'm not so much into camera/video capture but for me the resolution is pretty good. keys function well, sound is great. once i got used to the motorola interface, functions are pretty easy. speed is awesome, for applications (even 3D games) and bluetooth (sending or even multiplayer games) and browsing. a few things i don't like: glass gets really smudgy, you have to wipe it like all the time. earphones can sound better. text messages can only go up to 450 characters (beyond that it becomes an MMS). no EMS (it can receive EMS, but you can't insert EMS when you create text messages). the first screen line (with the icons for signal, battery etc.) are still there even when you play full screen games. battery lasts me 1 day, that's with around 4-5 hours listening to music & maybe 1-2 hours of games and a few texts/calls, but i just carry an extra battery cos it's really slim anyway. i think this is still the best motorola until the RAZR2 gets out in the market.

  • Hey..I wanna knw if it is a good move to buy this if i have a N70.i liked the v3i at 1st but i saw this had more features.can anyone just temme if this fone is actually worth buying or not.and how much does it cost in US $ also please. Thanks in advance!

  • i think to buy this phone , but i don know this phone good or not i mean battery n the function... pls someone give me some answer....

  • its a cool phone

  • To change the key sounds without effecting the ring style sounds, go into 'ring styles', make sure it's set to 'loud', then go to 'loud detail'. If you scroll down to the bottom, you'll see 'Key Volume'. Set the volume to whatever you like without effecting the ring style sound :-)

  • also concerning others. i only have 1 LED light, and it just shines brighter when i take the picture and with the tone volume. there is a seperate setting for ringing volume and the tone volume. i havent found a way to change the tones yet.. but they are seperate volume controls.

  • is it just me or..? you cant goto SPEAKERPHONE and then close your phone. when i do it, the call ends. anyone got this problem? the old razr v3 was like, speakerphone on, close the phone, keep talkin.

  • How can I turn off the sound of the buttons and still let the ringtone be loud? Everytime I turn off the sound of the buttons, the sound of the ringtone is turned off as well.. Is this normal? same problem for me. can anyone help???

  • Guys! Need your honest opinions. I'm considering to buy this phone but before buying this, I need to know if the Motorola V3 themes can be installed in this phone. Thanks in advance!

  • @danny... Both of mine flash... trust me. Very possible that yours does not work but mine dfinitely does... dont need dark glasses to see whats just in front of me just like u dont need them to confirm only one of your works. They work...

  • its so good that every one would like to buy even i want to buy and its very stylish also and one thing the special features in this is it has two side camera and we can make a video call and video conference

  • @Silverus The two LED's for flash work on mine.. just tested it. When u put flash on... the led on the left comes on(thats with phone open and facing u)... then when u take the picture the 2nd LED flashes like a proper flash. The rectangle b/w the 2.0 and MEGA PIXELS does have a red light that flashes when ur video or camera is on... to let the others know ur have ur video or camera on. I know some phones dont have this like mine was when it had the Orange UK Software... i flashed it to the Motorola original software and thats only when i started seing the red flashing light. The guys on the forum are right however... for the dude hat said it's only a yellow tape... he's completely wrong... maybe his phone is a fake.

  • I Have 2 questions for V6maxx users: 1) How many LED's is shining when you turn on flash. I my phone there is only one, when taking a picture, the same LED just blink more brightly for a flash. The second yellow element (second LED?) in flash stays always inactive :( Someone here wrote, that second element is just a piece of yellow tape. I asked on local Polish Motorola forum, and there was two guy's claimed that they have both LED's working – the second one blinks when taking a picture. Could it be, that there are two versions of V6max ?? 2) There is transparent rectangle between “2.0” and “MEGA PIXELS” sign, size about 1x5mm. It is only visible in very bright light. Do you now what's that for? I think, on one of the movies I saw on youtube, there was small red light in there. But it might be just some reflection :)

  • EEY. Can anyone tell me if the battery life is any good? when I looking for a new phone Iwant a nice design and a good battery. the design looks fine ... ;-)

  • This happens with some datacables, but not with original motorola datacable. Also problem is with some notebooks as they have low power on USB.

  • found something about this phone I don't like. using a datacable, and surfing the internet, it charges and drains the battery. this seems to be wearing it down alot more than the natural weardown I've experienced while using it normally. suppose that'll happen with most phones that use a data cable to recharge.

  • How can I turn off the sound of the buttons and still let the ringtone be loud? Everytime I turn off the sound of the buttons, the sound of the ringtone is turned off as well.. Is this normal?

  • i don't like the way it opens and it's camera its not good......only 2megapixels.........

  • its ok but not very exciting

  • its a good phone butsound is less so think but headset quality is good n offers stereo headset.

  • I have had 3xV3's(good in their day), 2xV3i's (Okay), 4xV3x's (have their moments), and now 2xV6 Maxx these are the best phones i have ever owned, Telstra seems to be the only provider ibn Australia to have these i think they were made for a nextG network overseas but they have landed on Telsra's Next G network and they just fly, the music oplayer keys on the front are very handy and is a solid contruction and is not a plastic device. Heavy feel at least you know you have it. JOY PHONE

  • I am debating on either this phone and Motorola KRZR K1. I am a college student who doesn't really need bunch of stuff with the phone. It just need to make good phone calls, good text message system and alarm clock would be great!! =] Please help me pick the better phone. thank you

  • anyone here have a problem reading email using the phone's built-in email function? Whenever I scroll down to the email message, instead of scrolling down, it moves to the next email message!

  • there is no such thing as a rizr maxx. so probly it was a typo and is referring to the razr maxx plus rizrs are not V3,6, or any V class They are Z's i believe.

  • I live in the USA and I have had my phone since the beginning of January. I bought it through www.hks-mobile.com (fantastic customer service and communication). My main problems with the phone are: the music keys on the outside are inconsistently slow in response... meaning sometimes they are a little slow and sometimes very slow... so you don't always know if the phone is going to process the command, and then you press it again, only to find it processed the button twice and now you're doing something you don't wanna do. Also, I wish it had a radio, but not a big deal I guess. The camera is okay, but you have to hold it steady when pushing the button, or it's easy to blur the picture. Overall, I love this phone. The big display and nice wide keypad are great. The overall look of the phone, the feel of the rubberized back, the lights that flash when you receive a call... it shares the #1 spot of being my favorite phone with the Sony Ericsson k800i (James Bond Silver Edition).

  • Good phone, but overall Nokia N76 is better. It is a smartphone combined with a fasion phone combined with a music phone. Better user interface than the motorola. But if u dont need smartphone function and want HSDPA then the MAXX is the way to go.

  • V6 maxx is way much better than nokia n76..I have two friends who own these handsets and had the chance to test drive the two. N76 hangs a lot, feels cheap and flimsy. V6 maxx is the real powerhouse of phones, in looks, features and especially in multimedia. and pleaassee...why fm radio when you can load a lot of your favorite mp3s?????

  • I just got the Razr Maxx V6 (ferrari) & it's an awesome phone!! I just have 1 question when i open the fone there is a 1-2 sec delay 4 the fone 2 come on, is this normal? Can u change it on the setting sumwhere? I'm new to the motorolas

  • I just picked up the Maxx yesterday. I upgraded from the E815 which was a great phone with tons of ability to manipulate the functions for use by techies! The Maxx is cool looking and the camera is the best I've used on a cell phone. The speaker seems to be pretty loud. I loaded 50 songs onto my card and have no trouble hearing them. The headset however could be louder when holding the phone during an active conversation. I have heard a lot of complaints about the previous Razors, but I figure Verizon gives me 30 days to test drive this one. I'll decide soon enough if this one's a keeper.

  • @ Louie thanks but which is better The Nokia N76 or The Motorola V6 Maxx?? ANyone?answer me please... Thanks.

  • Cant find the "dictionary" feature for texting messages. anyone please help??? thanks a lot. Joyce

  • To xtelle, Hi, why will we need a radio if this phone has MP3?? Can anyone tell me, how's the MP3 player of this phone?? the speaker should I say. is the SPEAKER LOUD and CLEAR?? anyone who will answer this.. I really appreciated :D thanks :D

  • Im a big fan of motorola because of their stylish phones. But 1 thing that comes to my minds, why is motorola so stupid that they dont always put radio on their phones??? Im a bout to buy this phone but the truth is features suck but style definitely OK! but please motorola improve your features!!!! Its not worth the price, I tell you CAN SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER ME WHy MOTOROLA DONT PUT RADIOS ON THEIR FONES???? CAN SOMEONE TELL ME W/C is BETTER NOKIA N76 or V6 MAXX Im eager to wait for your replies.. THANKS ALOT PEOPLE!

  • what is the best thing about maxx v6, can anyone tell

  • this message is obviously sent this year (2007) an i just wanna say dat when motorola phones first come out they usually hav a few things that need to get fixed up and there are many good reviews from 2006 so id say that if there were any problems they would probably be fixed buy now seein as its a yr later hopefully im gettin dis fone in a few days!

  • i have had this phone since the beggining of the year it is the best phone i have ever had its way better than the shitty nokia 6300 that phone was so gay it broke in like 1 hour and they wouldnt give me a refund stupid people

  • just read the review...

  • The "two LED flash" of maxx V6 is a hoax!!! If you take the flash lens off you can see that there's only 1 LED and 1 piece of yellow tape!

  • is there a provision in this handset to receive a call without opening the flip.please enlighten -ish

  • @ Flywurx... Well sorry mate but from my experience and understanding of the consumer laws. When you buy a phone here in the UK... u get a 14 day return policy because it is the responsibility of the company reasons when they got it supplied by Moto... it would have been tested and approved by them before they buy it. When sold on to you... u take your receipt to the company and not Motorola to get your money back innit?... when you buy clothes and realise it's torn somewhere u dont take it back to Levi's or Ralph Lauren or which ever manufacturer... you take it back to the shop you got it from... unless you bought it direct from a Levi's own store or Ralph Lauren own store... i'm sure u'd agree??? Or when you buy a new car that goes faulty in 1 week... you take it back to them... it's repaired... and if not they replace your car and send it back to the manufaturer... you can be sure though they would try and shift blame and say maybe you did something...unless you know ur rights... u'd just get played again. Same thing applies here... they should have replaced it for you then send the faulty one to Motorola themselves... NOT YOU. Moto are the manufacturers so they can repair it... if unable to repair then they replace it with a new one... same thing if u break your shades bought at Raybans... u can take it in for repairs and if they are unable to... they replace it with a new one for you... happened to me so i'm 100% sure. Plus i've had phones go faulty...due to my flashing and modding adventures and i always return it to orange and get a replacement... they now send the faulty one off for repairs which then comes back as refurbished. It's that easy... Bottom line is the shop u got it from do not wan't to take responsibility so passed it on to you.

  • They DON'T have a replacement warranty, even if you bought one of their defective units... It's only a repair warranty... so that translates to... Motorola - 1 Consunmer - 0

  • @Yep yep I bought mine last November 2006, and at the time, it was Motorola's top of the line model, no V3MAXX back then. All I wanted to say was that their warranty sucks and letting other potential Motorola buyers know about it. It's not just about getting screwed by the phone shop but by Motorola itself. cheers !!!

  • Mate... it's nothinf to do with Motorola. Motorola stopped manufacturing those phones long time ago... thats why u now have the Maxx as the replacement. You obviously bought a refurbished phone... or a used one and thats why the company u bought it from would not accept it back cos they know. If you bought it brand new from a real phone company even your recepit would have it shown that you have a 14 day return policy. I had the v3x to b4 i upgraded to the Maxx in December 2006... sold mine off fo r20 and the bloke is still using it. U got played mate... don't blame Motorola blame the company u bought it from.

  • just wanted to share with you guys a horror story featuring the company itself (MOTOROLA) last November 2006, I bought a spanking brand new RAZR V3X... It was a great phone overall and Ive been only using it for the past 3 days but when I tried to access the web browser, the screen went completely crazy then went blank...I mean totally black. I tried to restart the phone hoping against all odds that it would fix the problem, but to my utter dismay, it wasnt able to fix the problem. Any self respecting guy would return it to the shop right? so, off I went, fairly confident that the store would replace the phone since I only got it like 3 days ago knowing that i was sold a lemon of a phone...but guess what, the freakin' manager told me that they WON'T replace my phone !!! I mean, I just bought the blasted thing and I only found out about the defect when I tried to access the internet !!! They said that MOTOROLA has a warranty alright, but its only a service warranty and it doesnt cover parts that needed to be replaced. (Motorola users can check out their warranty cards to verify my claim or call customer service) I mean, who in their right minds would accept such a policy? I bought their phone trusting that it was in perfect working condition, but they just screwed me up !!! It that Motorola's way of saying thanks for buying their product? I ended up upgrading my phone for a Nokia N73 and I think I have made the right decision. MOTOROLA as a company sucks, but i have to admit that they make some of the best phones out there, provided that its free from defects...

  • Have ya'll seen the review of the Maxx... top phone dude's... top phone. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this phone rocks,but the c118 sucks

  • Why do phones like these take so long to arrive to America? It seems like the rest of the world got this phone a year ago and America is just now recieving it.

  • hi guys,, ive bought this mibole yesterday, the set of options r very good, new user interface z cool, although i liked the previuos 1,, my favourite ring tones r missing, the "classic" and other similar ones,,, i realized that wen a call comes, the ringer has a little interrupring sound on the beginning of it, and another little one wen u open the flip of the fone, hav u realized that too?? battery z improved than previuos ones,, sound clarity on calls z excellent, another thing that annoys, the extended menu(wen u press the arrow pointing to the right for sub menus) z not highliting the chosen item properly,, thats all for now, and i would appreciate any comments,, thnx motooooooooooooo

  • To slater press menu,,,settings,,,,personalise,,,,home screen,,,,,homes keys,,,icons hide/show.. The main differences between v6 and maxx is maxx has bigger resolution outer display and touch sensitive mp3 controls and flashing light display when you recieve txt or phone call etc and a 2 megapixel camera

  • I`m a Nokia fan, but after reading all the reviews, I decided to upgrade to the razr. Hope I wont be dissapointed!

  • hey guys, did u know how to hidden the icons in the internal display

  • Have been using hsdpa and a 1.33MB clip took 22 seconds to download which is 60.5 kbytes per second so to get kilobits per second multiply by 8 so 60.5 x 8 = 484 kb/second which is way off 1.8mb/s download maximum... The clip was a news clip and the area fairly busy with people on fones but it was a one off trial ive downloaded other clips but forgot to count which was which so the above was the guestimate and was counting with my heartbeat ??? My experiance was that its pretty nippy and pages load really fast from wat ive been using for past 3 years between 3g and gprs so on the whole i find it pretty good but my experiments will continue..but on the bbc website i tried to play a newsclip and it give me 3 options of high quality download,, medium quality and so on and pressed high option and its said connecting and this went on for a while but nowt happened so concerned about what someone said earlier about streaming??? maybe it cannot stream but it shud do being a bang up to date device....I also played mp3 for 1 hr their and 1hr back,,made 10 mins of calls and 6 txts and still at full battery but that will drop soon i expect and shud also say i had it on 900/1800 gprs whilst on journey there and back.. I am not wishing to bore people but these faster connections are part of what millions have been waiting for since the poor 3g arrived and dissappointed everyone..In future wi-max may take over but all the operators have spent billions on the 3g licences and need to get their money back..once the 14 MB connection arrives and portable data communications start to impress we will all be part of it because computers is where its at and most work will be done whilst travelling or commuting,,i hope it does not fail anyway,, byee

  • The guy was right. When I connected the phone to the PC, my phone turned off and wouldnt turn on for 5 hours!!! And it was brand new..

  • dont forget once speeds increase anyone buying the samsung fones and other 1.8 mb/s mobiles WILL NOT be able to get the next hsdpa upgrade to 3.6 mb/s BUT if you buy the maxx v6 your future proofed for a good 3 years until the 14 mb/s comes into operation.. So for a good while the maxx will be a frontrunner not soley as a mobile but, a modem for laptop users who need speedy data downloads and coupled with good battery life its superb device..This speed really comes into its own if your in a hurry and downloading data is a must "plus" it starts to get more stable as when in bad coverage or their are a lot in one cell poorer download rates are still good as the hsdpa engine tweeks the signal so you still get a fairly decent download speed. I have got my outside lights to rythmic display and find the control of the fone whilst shut quite manageable for fotos,mp3 playing and adjusting volume and ring levels..ON some of the message setting is says store to and i have put memory card so 2morrow my mssges shud store on the card all been well ??

  • re.,recieving sending email ok easy just put in your settings and away you go..Its got header only which is what i use and you can download manuall or set every 15 minutes or 30 minutes and so on ,getting used to the fone a bit more now

  • This review "below link" suggests it will happily play videos up to 30 fps but as post below says it varies as needed and motos own site says it video record/playback is 15-20 frames per second..http://www.mobile-review.com/review/motorola-v6maxx-en.shtml Anyhow ive been playing thru my angry kid videos and they come out with vibrant vivid colours and bits of videos from different sources come out good,,the mp3 player is very good and the earfones do have some good dynamics and the bass can be pumped up and i was suprised because in my past motos the music side of things were not great and album arts here as well for those interested. This is a snazzy fone does all what i need and glad i choose it over n76 which some reports are saying its only lasting 4-5 hrs non stop mp3 playback which is tripe..great mobile

  • have used this for 4 weeks with avengance,,it does have a good battery with 2hrs mp3 playing per day,30 mins of calls and 20 txts and backlight on level 2 iget 2 days out of it and to put that against another fone using my d900 like this would get 1 day,,also i am checking time and using callender events throughtout my working day The camera is just ok as in the shots are not terrible but you would not say my good thats a perfect shot..The video is not bad it is fairly adaptable to what your filming and seems to have a varied frame rate from 15 to 20 fps,im using sandisk 2gb card with 1.67 gb of mp3 plus video clips recorded from my sandisk v-mate video recorder set at medium quality ,mp4 ,,qcif resolutio 15 fps and they come out great and the black on the lcd of the v6 maxx are trult black. This is a fantastic fone and the pictures here dont do it much justice because its really slim and outside flashing lights display and mp3 touch sensitive controls finish off the fone superbly,, There is a good calender and good connectivity and the calc is simple to use.If this unit had symbian i woul give it 9/10 but as it is 8/10

  • I've been using the phone a bit more, and have found it to be an absolutely brilliant phone. some other phones I have used are too loud or to soft when you take calls, but this phone has just the right loudness for you to hear the person perfectly. I recently put a 2GB microSD card in. since then I've tested both the ability of the phone to play videos and music. I am going to be testing different formats on the phone, will report back when I do. One thing that has amazed me is how efficient the battery can be used if you simply use the earphones. I have been able to watch 2 movies before losing a single bar of battery, so I believe that is quite efficient ^_^. a few things I particularly enjoy are the dependency of the touch sensitive multimedia controls on the "backlight" setting. basically, if the outer screen is lit up, the touch sensitive buttons will be. the flash was a bit of a dissapointment since it is just a setting of "light on" or "light off", not an ability to set it to actually flash. applications and games are a dream to load up and close on this phone. quickly and efficiently, the application pops up and can be used. onto the camera... the video is a little less than can be desired, with the framerate playing a major part in the quality of the video... it is very easy to get a blurred effect. video capture isn't too bad, I performed a simple coin test to evaluate the capture (flick a coin and record a video clip of it) and it showed as an orb rather than showing sides of the coin (I have seen quite a few lousy cameras that show the sides of the coin). I was quite shocked when the lights on the side flashed for the first time (I didn't realise it actually had that feature since I have a cover for it). other than that, the overall style of the phone is superb. the metal included in the phone makes it quite sound. one thing I would like to see though: the ability to change the outside image to a different one than the inside I think that is the only thing that I "dislike" about this phone (it isn't major). the phone doesn't have alot of ability to change some of the really small stuff. another thing would be to make a seperate function for the outside multimedia controls, the lights switch off and the touch pads seem to go inactive. other than that, the phone is a masterpiece.

  • Does this phone's camera has flash???

  • ive sent pictures via email to people and will get back to you if you can recieve email.im with voda and they have a capped limit of 300kb and most of the 2 megapixel shots i take are around 150 kb and they have been sent successfully by email

  • Can anyone please tell me if this phone has email capabilities,I cant find the information listed in it specs. Cheers.

  • do you know where can i get free games/applications for this phone? thanks guys.

  • this is one of the best phones i bought and is a lot slimmer depth wise than the photos make out..i dont have any problems but i have not had chance to check out hsdpa but will soon when i travel. My first test im going to do is see if tele is any better but others sites suggest they are not going to improve framerate or resolution but i can tell if the stability is better just by looking at the screen for few minutes..There is alsp a leaflet with mine suggesting that when you go into a hsdpa zone voice calls will go to voicemail which is very interesting because whats happening that the phone cannot be interupted to recieve a call when using hsdpa ??? From wat ive learnt so far hsdpa is using somthing called extended codes and its this that makes it prone to interference and loss of signal wen moving just a few inches anyway ill find out.. Fantastic phone for anybody thinking about it and better than the v3x because its more solid in its operation,,i cant find the words to describe solid but but i think people who have come from v3x to this will know

  • its really nice..great texture...the touch sensitive music controls are very cool...and the use of glass is amazing...

  • I've already read some good things about this phone. I'll probably get mine next week.

  • Thats rubbish... connecting the phone to a PC via USB does not anything. Maybe you tried to flash your phone and did it wrong or something... or ur PC has a virus. Motorola supply the phone with a USB cable and it's software for syncronization with outlook, etc.... So why on earth would they do that if it damages the phone? Mate... either rephrase your post as you dont seem to be explaining what you actually mean... or your just talking bullshhhh... no offence but i hate to see people posting totally untrue info because of their mistakes.

  • connecting the phone to the pc through it's mini usb port can damage it, my unit was replaced 5 times with a new one before i realized what's causing the damage. the phone will shut down and will not turn on again. luckily customer service was superb with motorola1

  • can't wait to see the upgraded version of this phone

  • motorola can take over nokia as number 1 all they have to do is add some extra features like put som 3mp cameras on their phones or give more of their phones fm radio

  • hi music if your listen to it is it very loud or low??

  • i've tried to set a specific ringer tone for a specific name, but i realised that when u do, even the sms tone is the same as the ringer tone. so if u set a song for that specific person, the sms tone is really long!!

  • I had a look at this phone and love it! The only thing that concerns me is the video quality. Is there any way this can be improved because i would hate to lose out on this wonderful phone just because the video quality sucks

  • Tell me,besides the camera, how good is this phone? Out of 10,how much would u rate the camera and how much would you rate the phone?

  • so far phone is great, video frame rate is a little worrying, but otherwise it is a leap in the right direction... the only problem I am having is that I can't get the 3g to run through the cable to my PC, it currently only allows for gprs (I'm using the motorola phone tools that came with the phone)... can anyone help me? an email would be most appreciated

  • Hi everyone! I'm planning to buy this fone, but before that I need to be clarified if this will operate also within a 3G network to be used as a modem, if in case 3.5G or the so-called HSDPA is not yet available in a particular area. Anyone please.. Thanks.

  • I am very happy with this phone after 1 month, however the video quality is terrible. Even at lower quality setting the framerate is shocking. My older E1000 even did better.

  • You can use this phone as a modem for your PC. I do so using Bluetooth. However, burst speeds will be more effective using the supplied USB cable, since Bluetooth cannot cant reach burst speeds of 3.6Mbps.

  • reamnl: I've got that 'problem' with my K1, but only the top corners. I got used to it, guess it doesn't bother me anymore.

  • What is the maximum video recording resolution, and in which format? 3G? Can it play back other formats?

  • i need a moto fone with an fm radio, memory slot, bluetooth, usb , camera and that looks like a V3.

  • The metal plate covering my V6's keypad seems a little loose... Keys are working excellent, it's just one of the corners of the metal plate. Anyone else with the same problem?

  • Can I connect the phone to my pc via bluetooth to use it as a 3G modem ?

  • yes it does have flash

  • To Jenny. I bought mine last Feb at MemoExpress SM Megamall for P23,490. It was their display unit. You can also buy them at Greenhills. I don't know if they carry any warranty tho.

  • I really would like to have this phone. I've been reading the reviews and seems really good.

  • It makes my blood boil when people keep harking on about the rzr type design,,,Nokia make candybar and sliders every fone they bring out so why dont you silly buggers go to them forums and argue how other makes keep bringing out candybars eh go on you soft heads,,,motorola have got this groundbreaking design what they invented and IS iconic,,,they bring out the razer design with improved apps and hardware in their ICONIC DESIGN,,,Nokia and s/e and samsung are only doing the same thing improving specs etc in the same old candybar design thats as old as the mobile fone !!! So lets look at this then, nokia are bringing out the same design since day one and still bring out the candybar design"aka 1100 model 8 years old"so they are more to blame then your ignorant sods than moto who only introduced this in june 2004 ...Moto do right in bringing out more updated razer fones as all others do candybar sliders and on it goes whereas moto shook the world and brought out somthing really different and sold millions of them "and" will sell millions more as people get wise to newer technologies and want them but do not wish to despose of the iconic razer looks and sexy styling of the handset they fell in love with..Now they can safely do that by buying the same iconic design they wish to live with each day of their lives but with all the new advances in technology built in

  • Yes this phone has a flash. also a while back someone said it doesn't have recurring alarm but if you press the red button when it goes off it carries over to the next day. i gotta say this is the best phone i've had in years and it's my first motorola.

  • does it have a flash?

  • i love this celular phone is just nice!! and no one else have one like this......

  • hi all can anyone tell me why moto cam sucks or which companies cam,s they r using in their cell phones or they make thir own cameras in their mobiles waiting for reply

  • to William: as in ALL other phones I've had (believe me, I've had about 25 since 1993), the tone you set for a specific caller ONLY applies to calls, NOT sms. If your phone is changing tones often even if you don't do anything, is because it is faulty. Mine doesn't do that.

  • one of the bestest fone ive ever had. looks like motorola is beating up nokia in terms of design and phone capabilities. such a great one..

  • Don't be dissapointed!! there is a failure software from V6, I am from Indonesia. Well I don't really know how's all V6 in the world, will V6 be having the same problem like mine or not. "one of your contact ex: A set the Ringer ID to 'Bells', so whenever you receive from A sms or phone ringtone should be heard 'Bells' right? It's not!! close your phone, look at the external display, wait till the background goes black and only can be seen the digital clock (make sure it is) then you tell A to sms to your phone, the incoming msg should be heard from the setting profile and not that have been set by personal Ringer ID, then tell A to send another sms immediately, the incoming msg should be heard 'Bells' what you have set in the personal Ringer ID. in one time, twice incoming sms from the same person have two different tones. How can Mototrola explain this kind of failure to be release to the market?!

  • thanks for the info, mate!

  • The phone has no radio. But its HSDPA is amazing. Unfortunately as far as I know there is no VoIP software that can run on it. Maybe someone can correct me on this? I've been using this phone for 3 weeks and I'm impressed. The only thing that bugs me is the lack of good Apps to install on it.

  • To answer your questions, photo gallery navigation is lightning fast, photo and video quality is better than v3x, no office and PDF viewer (V6 maxx is not a smartphone), it has email capabilities (haven't tried it tho), battery is BZ60 and it has no radio.

  • it has radio???

  • who can tell me what's the original bettary model of V6, i think it should be BZ60, 940hma. but the seller in china's gray market only equipes BC60,900HMA bettary~

  • Does anybidy konow whether the V6 Maxx has a document viewer for Office and PDF documents? The Samsung ZV50 has, and this might be a deciding factor for me. And how about email cababilties?

  • hi! i've had a V3x. currently i own a K1, the only things against it is that the cam sucks and navigating the photo gallery is slow as a snail. otherwise is quite an ok phone, nice size and the battery is not that bad. i've been thinking about an 'upgrade', and this maxx seems quite cool. is it worth the change? i've read that the cam is awful, photo and video wise.

  • One of the best phones i have ever had by far.

  • I have had all the V series and this is by far the best. The build quality is better than its predesessors and the hspa - wow! i have used the data option whilst travelling to Europe and HK and has been incredible. This is one phone I have no hesitation in recommending.

  • I always knew the moto guys could whip something like this out if they tried. Great phone!!!Good call on the thick glass in front.Cracked my screen while drunk and now i dont need to pay for lcd but just the glass!!!! Keep it Up!!!!

  • is there a way to save messages to memory card? because phone memory can only store for a about 600 sms. which is very poor since my nokia 6630 which is quite old can store to about 3000+ sms. this phone can only store till 600. Is there a way to move it to the computer or to store in on the memory card?

  • Motorola are amazing phone manufacturers, you expect nothing less than very good quality from them,

  • no man, i've been using this phone for 3 months, and this is such a great phone. i suggest u contact ur dealer, maybe its a second hand phone or factory failure. other else, this is a handphone with stuffs that u desired in every phone. this is motorola, what else can you expect?

  • Anybody else had a problem where the keypad stops working, the only button that works is the on/off button. obviously this is on the V6

  • just got back from sg wang, kl, msia. there discount of rm1599 now.

  • an very excellent design one on the best.love the lighting, graphical display and camera. will get 9.5 out of 10 because of no radio fm....upset!!!

  • For the guy who asked how much is this in the philippines. I just just bought this one last april 22 in glorieta motorola center for P22,100. Why do you still ask for the complete set? if u buy the original one which is in motorola centres it will contain the full set.

  • Forget about my posting, it is 3gp and pretty awful, btw. Just checked with mobile-review.

  • In what format are the videos recorded? Hate 3gp, but I like this phone.

  • It's a great phone really. I bought it last month and I don't have any problems... The thing that annoys me little is when I reply a message the receiver of the reply read it like this.. Subject: RE Msg:........ Every time I reply I must deletre the subject of the reply..Does anyone knows how can I solve this?

  • its a blast fone very very very goood sound and extreme display i love it but i dont own it now my friend has one i m currently using moto ming which is superb in sounding

  • Just linked up with Bluetooth stereo headset, its really cool sound, best quality stereo music with it A2DP technology. Internal speaker are quite loud, however quality is slightly lower than using bluetooth headset.

  • is this phone good and is the speaker loud or soft like v3 or v3i and about the battery life is good or bad please tell me

  • Hey jst bought my v6 maxx 2 days ago. I dont find any problem in the wiggling issue but i find the outbox (auto clean-up) to be crappy, i chose the option (keep 5 msgs) and my outbox still keeps on rising as i make mesages making me manualy deleting outboxes. Anyone know how to solve this problem? And also when does the motorola logo outside of the phone light up? it rarely light up on mine. anyone can help me? thanks in advance

  • im really wanting and loving this unit., hope that i could grab one of this... if santa claus will give me.. heheheh

  • In what format are the videos recorded?

  • Just got one from orange and I think its great. it even makes phone calls how good is that ?

  • hi> do motorola v6 maxx has radio fm and can we add mor themes? plz ansr

  • Great phone, easy to use and so light.

  • I work in a store, and this phone has been terrible! At the moment it has a return ratio of 75% This is all due to manufacturers faults such as not powering on, charging or a combination of both.

  • Is there an adapter available for the ear phones.

  • To change shortcut keys: On the menu, go to Settings > Personalise > Home Screen > Home Keys

  • I got this phone a week ago and friends (and my kids too!) have been raving about it! It's a great looking phone (considering I didn't really fancy black phones) with great features. The only thing I couldn't figure out is how to make shortcuts. My last phone was also a Motorola and it had the feature of creating shortcuts so I didn't have to press too many keys to get into my favorite functions. Doesn't this have that feature? That's really too bad if that's the case. Another downside is the battery life. A mobile phone that's equipped with camera, video, voice recorder, emai and Mp3 the battery life must be longer. It's a hassle to have to recharge every night.. sometimes every 20 hrs... Generally, I still love this phone- it's worth buying a spare battery for! - Marie of Quezon City, Philippines

  • does anyone noe where i can download games and themes or anything for the moto razr maxx?

  • Hey I work in a phone store in Australia we just got a dummy for a V6 which is in silver and blue... it looks kinda ugly but I'm sure some will like it. Don't know when it will be out.

  • Hi Does anyone know how to set up the email settings? Thanks

  • my phone has no wiggle issue. sadly there's no realplayer for streaming tho. no fm either. doesn't play mp4 files too well or i'm not converting properly. got a razr h3 bluetooth headset for it too and it functions well together. so far no comments. just need to put a quality lcd screen protector for the front glass panel and inner screen.

  • how much is the phone on hk? cause my dad is thinking of buying me one next month.=p thx!

  • just got mine yesterday. charging it at home as we speak. can't wait to try it out. the demo the dealer gave me was cool too. didn't really notice the wiggle issue but will check later after work.

  • Hi everyone, after reading here most of user's opinions, I went to: to see what pros think about RAZR MAXX V6 and it seems to be the best one in the Motorola V Series. Then I went to a store, here in Madrid, Spain, Europe, (Greetings!) and they've told me that "black" is the only color available for this cell phone. Well, I don't like black cell phones because they are more easy to lose (or miss) in some kind of environments. Anybody has any info available, any rumour, about when Motorola is going to launch RAZR MAXX V6 in more "happy" colors? Thanks and Greetings

  • Hey People i think the moto maxx looks like a great phone but can some1 please help me out, should i get this moto or the sony w850i? and if you could possibly give me a reason why... Thank You

  • hello motto! I was so excited to finally recieve my v6 maxx. believe it or not i had it replaced 2 times in a span of 2days before i got hold of a defect-free unit. first, the up-navigation key doesnt work. second, the unit is not charging. im crossing my fingers that this 3rd unit does not bug down again.

  • Yes this phone does view sites fully like the Nokia N80

  • Battery life using bluetooth and listening to music and making calls; 7 hours Without listening to stuff, but taking calls with bluetooth 15 hours Listening to music with just the wire headset 15 hours *** Anyone know how to set up the WAP settings on this phone? *** This phone is really fast and sometimes lags on itself. For people who have companies that have both 800/1900 bands (Canada) then this phone will only cut out in elevators, just a few more times then their own branded phones will. Though for 3G, sometimes it will not work. (Correct me if I'm wrong? I want to know what's right) There are 2 types of 3G as far as I'm concerned. 3.5G with UMTS and 3.5G with GSM. Appearantly UMTS is the North American band. This is also all using HSDPA. For Canadian consumers who want a video phone, take N95 or HTC SoftBank TyTN. Otherwise, this is a very good stylish phone. VERY GOOD camera quality. When I'm on the bus and it's in motion, when I need to capture a phone number from a slowly passing by shop, it takes the picture clearly. I've seen with my W810 before, it did nothing but capture abstract like light images which never helped. The flash and the night mode are both also very helpful during the night. I've had screen protectors on it, but they're all a mm too small, and also just make the phone look bad, and I've dropped the phone a few times by accident, and it's never gained a scratch or deformity. The glass and design are very good, and still have no scratches at all. This phone recommends no music over the bitrate of 320kbps, but in fact, in some cases, some tracks will not work at all if they are 320kbps. I have roughly 80 songs at that level, and I find only a few dozen work and play on my phone.

  • isnt this phone really big?? i hav a se w810 and am spoilt by its small size. im thnkng bout buying this one, if not, maybe the sliding rzer z3? im so indecisive. pls help!?

  • Oops sorry! I didnt mean to be mean, if you look the picture it is obvious that it has a led flash, but I apologize, sorry! But you dont need to treat that way also, is wron!

  • how to raise money t i haf ure answer it dus flash if u lift ure mums skirt up u no wot a mean u can see her rinkly boab any way i used to have this it broke cos when i was about to haf sxc my gf told me go harder and idid and u no wot happened

  • Maybe is not a good question, but yes ti does have a flash (led flash)

  • This is a great combination of the two most popular phones in the United states. A razr and a chocolate. This is the best. My chocolate phone fell in a bowl full of water and it is broken so now I'm gonna raise enough money to buy this phone or maybe just a razr. Even though I'm only twelve I could probably braid hair or something. Or even clean a room for one of my co

  • Does this phone has a flash?

  • I bought the fone in Hong Kong. It has English/Mandarin dictionary. Is there anyway I can uninstall this and get myself an English dictionary. Thanks

  • hi... i just saw the v6 maxx just now.. i think it looks great... i have a v3x now... and im thinkin of upgrading to the v6 maxx... what i dont like about motorola's is their earphone plugs... unlike those of SE which you can attach to any earphones, hope motorola could make an adapter... or i just dont know there's one... if anyone could tell me, please do... i saw all your opinions... i think im gonna buy one... by the way... the "wiggling"?!?!.. that's really common to most clamshell phones... tnxs.

  • nah jus another limited edition version of the maxx. Only difference is the red lighting instead of the blue and few added minor media features to it.

  • Wow. I just got my MotoMaxx. Spent a pretty penny but it is worth it. I love the feel of the key pad-- one of the best tactile feels for texting in the market. The speed is obviously awsome and I love the music player with external keys. Think I'll be leaving my iPod at home. Does anyone know what's the deal with the new Ferrari edition? Is it faster or just a marketing thing?

  • can this fone view full web pages like SE K800i or N80?

  • www.getjar.com Theres alot of applications and dictionaries

  • i got my v6maxx here in the philippines last feb 4 and its doing really well its my first time 2 buy a motorola but seriously its hot but the thing i hate the most is that there are really few applications that are available for download...and u need jar files, u cant use sis files and its iritating me cuz im nut contented with the games and applications of the phone but im very pleased with the speed and the design and everything. the thing that is soo good is the 3g...its soo fast its giving me around 20-25fps and thats cool and btw the flip and design are hot and the internet is \soo hella fast try going to a site that has lots of pictures it displays it to u aroung 10 seconds its displayed! i think its faster then dial up! hehehe LOL but its also wiggling ehehehe but can anyone tell me wer 2 download "safe" applications (jar files pls) :)) i've only tried mobile9 and mobango nothing else :)

  • hey guys, this is the ultimate phone that im looking. Grab 1!

  • it's a big mistake that Moto doesn't make V6 hit the shelves in China.

  • just a suggestion for the motorola people, please make a phone that has the motorola razr maxx design maybe call it MOTOROLA RAZR MAXX V8, but include the features like 3MP camera w/autofocus and 32x digital zoom, wlan, sound quality like that of the sony ericsson phones, document viewer, plus an OLED dispay like that of the SE Z610i on the outer screen, if you can make it a touch screen much better with edge and hsdpa 2gb memory, 3G, videocall/conference, hotswap, battery life 1week, flash can be used as flaslight, radio w/ RDS, 2nd cam should be at least 1MP. well if this phone is makeable this should be the ultimate phone. i would buy a dozen of these and give it to my friends and family... please GSMarena people, please suggest this to motorola, more power....

  • I have been saving for this phone for a while now I'm trying to order it from lala-west and the shipping status is saying pending. It is sopose to take 10 business days to ship. I would like to know "has any one orderd for the web site and recive with in the expected time. Thanks

  • elo sirs/maam is it true that this fone captures video at VGA 640x40 resolution? if that is sooo that is amazing ^_^

  • Could anyone tell me, how is the battery life of the Maxx V6 compared to the one of Maxx V3

  • thank you very much Jiro!

  • @Angel Better Get the maxx ;-)

  • i think the wriggle problem exists but it doesnt affect me much, i just noticed, lol. Just a little wriggle Well, dont think about it and maybe u will feel better, its just only a minor problem, no big deal i think.

  • Hi Guyz just Want to share, Re "Wiggle" thing. I just got my maxx yesterday. Knowing about the wiggle problem with the maxx which was posted here, i asked for the sales lady about it, she told me that its normal with clam type fones, i want to be sure so i asked if i could take a look on their other stocks of maxx. She brought out two extra units and i checked them out, all of the three where wiggling. So it seems that this is really a design problem with the fone?? To the guy who contacted motorola? any updates about the problem?? Anyway i still bought the fone, been expecting this since last year hehe Hope they can fixed this problem with the next upgrade of the maxx

  • just... perfect !!!

  • Does it have T9 or iTap?

  • hey Ro, i got the phone when i went to hong kong, for 300 bucks, with all the accesories, so far so good, not problems, i installed mino, google maps, opera mini, yahoo go! and many more jar applications and works fine.

  • hey marco can u tell me where u got it from?

  • hey guys, i got this problem with my motorola. When i turn the phone on the screen does not go on. It stays black while the keypad lights up etc.. does anyone know whats the problem? if you do please help me out here.. Thanks.

  • the phone has flash

  • this phone has no flash right?

  • well you can buy the software on ebay or make copy. if you want i can provide u a copy free. just you pay for the shipping. btw, the phone cost me 300 american dollars and came with everything,

  • i dnt know whats wrong wit my v6 cuz smtyms i get a little jolt of electricity whenever i charge it in my pc. anyone here with the same problem??? im worried mybe i myt get seriously hurt

  • unfortunately not cheap, but really I want it so much it is about 1500 Dirham (about 400 USD) and without almost every thing (no CD drive, no cover, no USB cable drive, no ear phone, no memory card) but the most bothers me that there are no CD, on the other side no mention at it all in the manual. only a site name to update its software

  • but if I didn't get the Cd software drive first, is it really will make a problem and from where (which site)could I down load one

  • the phone comes with the usb cable, cd driver, manual in english and chinesse, unfortunality the warranty only works in hong kong, i registered the phone in the web side, and for now, it is ok. also i got a memory card, only 128 mb. the only support english and chinesse.but the phone really works really good.

  • hey i got this phone in my last trip to hong kong, i tested there with vodafone and it really works ready, specially the wcdma 2100, it is actually 3.5 G.. really fast. the problem is the phone does not support 850 band . because the phone is for asia market.back in vegas, it really works fine, normally in town works in 1900. but if you live very far away from the civilization, probably you need to get a phone with 850 band..

  • hi all Finally, I got my phone from Dubai it really looks good and till now it is working good too but my question is as follows: I didn't receive with it CD drives, so i don't know if it must be available or not and if yes, can any one provide me with a link or file to work instead of CD

  • I have enjoyed my V6, up to the point where the software crashed on me. Basically, the screen started flickering and glitching when starting up. Then, when I tried to use the camera and it came up with a "Busy. Try Again Later" sign. Then I tried to view my pictures... and it crashed completely, locking me out of anything. Eventually, after a couple of minutes, it comes back online. This happened after about a month of ownership. I've sent it for repair, but having previously experienced software problems with my k700i i'm not overly disappointed. In most other aspects it is a good phone. However the wiggle, as previously mentioned, is a bit of a pain. Not having owned a moto in a long time i have thus far been satisfied. But having had to go back to my k700 over the last couple of weeks, the difference is not "wow".

  • anybody can tell me why when when i close the flip on speakers the phone hung up, with the v3x you close the flip and keep talking please help

  • To choobeka - you can buy the phone at Greenhills in San Juan.

  • I just realized, I have the WCDMA 2100 band on my V6, does anyone else? Could this be because I got my friend to get it from china instead of Japan or Europe? Isn't it suppost to be the HSDPA 2100 band? Also to the person who changed their band to 900/1800 and put the speed on slow, did it affect your connection? Are you in a 850 band area or what band rules your area?

  • maybe you need to update your USB drivers or download from motoDev or install MPT

  • I just got my Moto V6maxx today. The problem I have is that the phone doesnot charge or connect to the PC via the USB cable. Please help.

  • Just checked...v3x is 20mm, while this one is only 15mm!!! WOW that 25% thinner...well done moto!!!

  • is this even thinner than the 3x??? and is this available in the philippines now?? i really want to get one!!!

  • I just hate those "out of memory" errors on my 6680...is the os on this phone more stable?

  • I've been pretty much through the Razr family (V3, V3i, V3x) and I FINALLY got my V6 Maxx a few days ago and I am a very satisfied customer. Sound quality is excellent. The music playback is pretty good on the speaker but if you use the headphones it's fantastic. When you go to look at the pictures on the phone, there is no 1 or 2 second lag from picture to picture. It's fast. In the words of Ferris Bueller...."If you have the means to pick one up, I hughly reccommend it. It is so choice"

  • i have maxx v6 its really nice, i didnt encounter any problem, unlike nokia for now... try to get one of this!!!

  • the sound quality is fantastic on the earphones i have tried it out

  • this is a fantastic mobile phone with great potential

  • @ Moto Nicolo... Just switch your band to 900/1800 band. You are most likely on 3G thats why. Go into your SETTINGS.. then NETWORK... select NETWORK SETUP... and change BAND to 900/1800.. then change SPEED to Slow. That should do it... the battery on this phone is really good.

  • My battery lasts for 72 hours. Maybe the problem is with your firmware or with your service provider. As for the wiggle problem, i solved mine by tying two turns of dental floss on each side of the hinge. Now the wiggle is gone. Cut the ends of the floss with a sharp blade taking care not to scratch the finish.

  • One not so good thing about the v6 is its very poor battery performance. The full charge usually lasts for only a day (with just plain sms and short calls and no music playing involved). At first I thought that my battery is defective, but my friend told me that the battery of a moto really sucks. Is there a more extended kind of battery that we can use for our v6?

  • The unbranded ones are just all black. The wiggle, I'd like to get rid of it too if possible, but I'm stuck here in Canada and the thing's just recently a few months just come out of England, so iono what to do. I'll try contacting Motorola when I feel bored or something because it doesn't bother me. Funny thing is that it wiggles to the left xD People wanting to know about the bluetooth, iono why there're connection problems with the HBH-DS970. I just connect it everytime I use it like this; Turn off Bluetooth first because otherwise, you'll have a kind of static noise in your ear most of the times. Turn on HBH-DS970, and play my music with the handset. Then go to options and choose to play with bluetooth and it autosearches for my headset. Then seamless connection. Only thing that doesn't work though is the ID3 tags, but I expect that since it's not exactly and SE phone. Again to people who strongly (not targeting opinionated people) for the W850 while looking at the Maxx, I think your choice should be the Maxx because it is completely ergonomic and the user interface much easier then the SE's menus. I haven't had a MOTO in a while, and in the recent 2 years, though for canada this phone would still be 1-2 years in the future officially, this is a good step up from their other model productiosn and I find that I don't have 'just another razr'. Everyone who has a razr around me are just eyeing the phone with envy when they see it and they ask what model it is and are taken away when they hear it's a RAZR. RAZRs aren't overrated, they're just overbought, used and manufactured. KRZR K1m would even be a good suppliment if you didn't really like wide phones or the RAZR look, minus it's 3.5G capabilities, it's nearly the same. I recommend if you can, also tryout the MaxxV6 or KRZR K1m when you also look at the W850. Buy one at a time and return it. See what fits you, and I'm sure that you'll find that one of those MOTOs will be good.

  • hi.. i juts got my v6... does anyone have same problem wit me... once u set your phone to divert then u cant turn it off the divert function. i tried so many times still cant turn it off teh divert . need help pls

  • how's the sound quality with bluetooth stereo earphones? Any1 tried it out yet? Is it as good as the one with moto rokr e2?

  • Picked up one of these and its great. I usually stay away from motorola but they've really done a great job with this one. Anyone having trouble setting their own wallpapers? Some of my cropped pictures do not show up on the main screen and I do not know why.

  • can anyone tell me what skins are available on voda uk version, orange uk version and on unbranded version?

  • love this phone. i love the feature, that software isnt slow. its fast unlike nokia. but where to get themes? :(

  • moto user since birt; Something is not right then unless she wrights about 50 a day cause sending sms takes some power. Low signal in the area? My lasts 3 days with some calling, smsing and music.

  • how u all connect ur stereo bluetooth?i tried the jabra t320s n se hbh ds 970.. both all had same problems... first connection stereo...once dc n reconnect..it cant seem to connect to stereo.. anywan else got same problems? n hu ever who is using hbh ds 970 n its workin..pls tell mi how..thanks

  • hey my cousin just had her v6 maxxx..well, she was used to nokia and SE phones until dis one..she complains that its battery has a poor performance..it only lasts for a day..take note: she doesnt even use the music player, just for sms

  • So it seems that not all Maxxs has wiggle problems... I called Motorola yesterday and they said I could go into one of their service centres to get it fixed(fortunately there is one in my town). At the center they could see the wiggle, but because its such a new model, they didnt have any spare parts for it and it would take 3 weeks (I would have to leave it there which is not what I wanted to hear !!) Im gonna call back Motorola again monday to see if they have a quicker solution as I dont want to be without my Maxx for 3 weeks I am very happy with this phone except for this wiggle problem.. As I have said before, this is my fifth Motorola and I have only had to contact Motorola support twice and everytime they have been very nice, so this is why I choose this solution.

  • its hard to look for games for this phone... where can i get some good games??? pls help.

  • i think that the phone lookz better than the razor 3x and the qulity of the camra is a lot better...but this phone over the 3x.

  • Hi guys. I just thought I'd share. I just got my motorazr maxx v6 today and nothing is wiggling.

  • I have been for the review of this PHone. It's the most awaited reviews among all phones...

  • ofcourse every flip wiggles a bit mine wiggles few mm, thats not so bad.

  • To: Everyone who buy Maxx Does Maxx wiggle badly on all sets or only some sets. Mine got this problem too.

  • hey contemplating, i suggest u get that SE w850. its easier to use and a lot more applications and games are available online. i thnk this razr is a bot too overrated... that's just what i think.

  • I just traded my V3x for this phone. It is a big improvment. The camara on this phone is 2.0 mega pixels same as the V3x but the quality of the photos are 100% better. yea it only has 50 mb internal but mine came with a 256mb memory card. I do not even use the internal memory. Everything about this phone is better than the V3x. The V3x might be cheaper now but this phone improves all that was wrong with the V3x which i had a lot of problems with. This is one of the best phones Motorola has came out with since the first RAZR.

  • Ok PFM7, please let us know what Motorola replies about the "wiggle problem"..

  • after a week of use and comparing to my friends' razrs, i realized that damn the looks really really stand out but the features are almost identical to the v3x. of course the maxx has the "3.5G", the new menu, icons, the special flipside w/ the touchpad keys 4 the mp3 , a bit slimmer and maybe slightly smaller. but everything else is the same... the v3x is even way cheaper than this(i mean really really cheaper). true it is so much cooler but the maxx has only 50mb internal memory and the v3x has 64mb. bringing this phone around scares me. i mean the top of the flip is glass and the matte finish. it looks to me that it could be prone to a lot of scratches if u dont buy it a carrying case... anyway its still a good phone if ur a "fashionista" type of person, but if u want functionality and yes also looks at a really low price get the motorola v3x instead of this v6 maxx...

  • No, it's more then substantial. The speaker volume has a higher lvl then the Walkman phones, but no lower then them. Walkman phones can go even less silent. For having bluetooth between two phones, you have to go to 'Find Me' and it'll make your phone visable for 3 mins. But for my phone, some reason, it turns off the visability after one process/transfer but keeps the bluetooth on. The headphones on another matter are ok. I need lvl 5 just to listen and sometimes 6 to over come regular noises such as a crowd or in a bus. 7 is too loud. But I don't use the headset very often, since my HBH-DS970 can run up to 6-7 hours, I stick with that because it also has bass boost, spatial audio and a better range of volume.

  • I read somewhere that the RAZR MAXX earpiece volume is quite soft (or maybe even too soft). Can anyone comment on this?

  • It seems that all Maxx comes with the wiggle problem. I have emailed Motorola and awaiting their official reply.

  • This is my fifth Motorola, all have been flip phones (V5, T720, V600 and Razr V3)but the wiggle of the cover has never been as much as with this one. Actually I still have them all, and I have just compared them to my Maxx and they all sit tight. Not nearly as much wiggle as my Maxx. Think Ill contact Motorola aqbout this..

  • menu operations is very smooth and fast...just saw a video on youtube about it.... amazing...compared to my n6680...which really suffers from lack of memory...hai...hope i can get this phone this year...want to go back to a flip phone.

  • All flip phones will have wiggles problem...

  • I'm really confused reading the comments. I'm really concerned of buying this model. Is the wiggle of the cover corrected by Motorola? Can someone advice me shld i go for this or not? if not this which make and model wud be a better option with flip open, bluetooth n a 2MP camera? Help me pls

  • seems good, but not exactly. been a fan of SE. SE doesnt have nice phone recently n i need a hp, got this instead. but was damn disappointed at the sound, not good. disappointed!

  • Can somebody please tell me how can I receive business cards from Nokia cellphones on my V6 Maxx? My friend's MotoSLVR can.

  • Can anyone tell me how i can connect my maxx to another fone via bluetooth? I've read the manual and tried everythin but i can't do ir. thx.

  • I guess then voda have heavily customised their maxx? Voda users please comment?

  • @Shah Yeah mate I have the Prange UK one... got rid of the firmware tho and replaced with an undranded one. Yes it is heavily branded... Homescreen shortcuts is there but can be turned off. However... ur rigt softkey remains locked to Menu while your center left is used only for select. All the icons have been changed to orange ones but the Moto ones are so much better... cant understand why they change it. On the Orange one u dont get call barring for voice calls... just video calls... u get restrict calls tho so not a prob. On the Orange u dont get the option of an analogue clock on your display... strictly digital. You dont get all the stuff Motorola installed like the back up, ebay pocket auction, moto set up, moto text and all the games. Orange have replaced them with all that music download stuff etc that u gotta pay for. Also the Orange one does not let u have the MMS Templates... instead u get browser messages offering you templates u gonna have to pay for. Also with the orange branding... got a few lock ups where the Homescreen is trying to load but never does so ur then stuck with a homescreen u cant modify unless u master reset the phone. All in all... the unbranded is so much more satisfactory and thank god no more Orange boring and pointless menu icons... eveything is coloured orange.

  • For those who have the phone on Orange UK, how heavy is orange branding? Is the orange homescreen present, can it be disabled? Are the menu icons also customised? What skins are avilable and lastly what features have been disabled if any? ie OTA firmware updates and java application where network settings can be adjusted depending sim being used. many thanks in advance

  • i like this phone very much. so elegant and classy. however i couldnt make it bond with my v3x. when i activate my bluetooth i could find other devices but not my other phone. have you had the same experience?

  • How'd you get it free? Anyway, yea this phone is really loud. For me, it's still working flawlessly with my HBH-DS970, donno why there were bad comments on mobile-review saying if you were running or got active with both, they'd just kinda go down in quality. I haven't had it beep on me for missing calls yet, but the ringtone was loud enough to make everyone in the room jump when it spit out the first note. Camera's good quality, doesn't have an optical AF, but the digital one takes care of regular hand shakiness/blur very nicely. Flash I think is brighter then SE's and the reception is very powerful and clear. But only outside or when not in the garage (condo) or elevator. Sometimes I lose connection, but I don't mind. It's still a good phone overall. Going from 7am-4pm music non stop, this thing displays it's battery by every 33%, and it didn't even go down after 5 mins of calls and listening to music with it by bluetooth, changing songs every other few minutes. It stayed at 100-66% battery life. Bluetooth transferring with files is very fast too but I find it's hard to scroll for songs as it takes a while when you have 300+ songs. Also when I put them into a playlist, they're all in a random order. Anyone know if there's a menu fuction to sort by title? I couldn't find it.

  • just got mine today... for free!!! damn its such a cool fone!!! great sound, great resolution, and really great looks!!! woohoo!!! get one now!

  • Really? could somebody please give me this kind of phone for free???

  • Yeah mate... reminder beep or vibrate.. loud ringer very loud.

  • Hey guys, Is this model come with reminder "beep" sound when you did not answer any missed call or sms like other Motorola phones? Is the ring tone loud enough to hear when in noise environment, like supermarket or shopping centre? I would like to find out before get one. Thanks!

  • Mine wiggels a bit to, but thats really not a problem. I am though not able to set up MMS. Does anyone know how to configure this sucker manually? The instruction book that follows is horrible.

  • Just got the phone today, loving it. The outer cover wiggling is as much as any other flip phone, I notice. But what I don't notice is it's movement or slight lower in quality because of it. It's hardly a bother. At first as well, the HBH-DS970 was a bit sketchy to use, and though I know that technology isn't like humans, but I think it just had to get used to each other, then the two devices worked seamlessly. Good phone, and an ok trade-off with the W810. Only bad thing is lack of memory, but I can live by that. Everything else is very exceptional and I don't think I'll ever get bored of this phone like I did with my SE. Though Motorola didn't change much to the UI and designs, it's still a very different experience and handle for me from their older phones like the 220 and 720. There may be arguements that this phone shouldn't be compared to those old flips but it's a good advance in technology from where I stand. Every phone company is good. Motorola in their design and if used properly, durability for many years, in this aspect, Nokia lives up to it's name too, though it's design can only be driven with a special cameo or function like the 3220 with the light ups and led messaging cover. Even though the plastic cover broke off, it still worked. SE I've not had enough experience with using, but so far, it's a good phone, but a bit too standard for me. I'd rather have to work around something rather then just have many capabilities when there's just no point to them. Simple is best.

  • Yes, I also think its too bad that the cover "wiggles".. Im so glad for everything else in this phone, but I mean, its not a cheap phone. And when they could get everything else right, and have a lot of sofisticated features, why couldnt they make a simple thing like a cover tight..? And with this phone you use the outer features more, so you notice it more.

  • been looking for a phone for a long time as my contract kept rolling the months over but didnt see any thing that caught my eye then bam this little baby pops up and i instantly fell in love with it the smooth glass front the shiney key pad it just ozed sex and i had to have it so off to vodafone i went and two days later it came wow i thought when i opened it this phone rocked turned it on simple to use no problem then all off a soden it goes off opps did i press a button by mistake i thought no not to my luck turned it on again and opps it goes off again maybe i should leave it to charge so an hour later have another go succes it stays on mess about with it a bit take some piccys no probs go in the album to look at my handy work and all the pictures i have taken go all funny colours dam this phone im thinking now never mind will phone up vodafone to get it replaced shame really as its a top phone built qualtity good seems sterdy and looks so cool with the blue neon lights that dance when it rings lets hope the next one works fine if not i guess its the se w850i for me

  • @ the guy below: please take a closer look at the posted comments, this question have been answered many times before.

  • Is it just me or does everyone's Maxx wiggle alittle with the flip closed??? I just paid $327 for this thing, it shouldn't be wiggling! Or does everyone's do that?

  • theres few mm between the inner screen and keyboard so it wount be scratched

  • So it seems that its not only mine that has the "loose" cover. Im just a little worried that the inner screen will get scratced from this..

  • Yea, I'm sure you can. I'm getting this in a few days (by wednesday) and I'll be up with some comments that I haven't seen posted yet.

  • juz wondering, juz like most SE fones, u can set your own SMS alert tone, can this one do the same as well?

  • My cover moves sideways a little, too. I guess they all do.

  • how is the camera for this phone ?

  • Sure, Im very happy with it, just wanted to know if it was a general thing or just mine. Hope it doesnt gets worse over time..

  • mine does too but nevertheless, its still a great phone with outstanding build quality.

  • Hi,have had this phone for about 14 days now and im very pleased with it. Great Phone, a great update to my V3. I just have a question to other owners here : Does your upper cover (the part with the screens)move a little to the side when its closed ? It doesnt when its open, but when its closed its a little loose, especially when you use the smart button, volume buttons etc.

  • Oh also, how long can you listen to music on this and multitask as well? Can it run for atleast a good 6-8 or maybe even 10 hours? I'd be great if it was more.

  • Still asking, can this work with the new 4GB MiSD card that was revealed at 3GSM?

  • can it record at cif video resolution please as im upgrading from v3x & this is the only deciding factor left,,,I ve been to a voda store & they dont know even wat im on about they just kept saying about it 2 mp but i know that but wat is video resolution??I enjoy moto phones & have never disliked the menu layouts so there go moto

  • There's nothing so advance about this phone. Of course you still have to speak in the context of where you are staying. 3G and 3.5G had been used in Asian for years

  • So, it is a pity that a TECHNOLOGY-WISE SUCCESFUL SOLUTION wont be picked up by many due to the companys mistakes in marketing.

  • Plz don't copy reviews from MobileReview.

  • The MAXX sports neither groundbreaking functionality, nor top-notch design or some unique features (HSDPA is not among these most consumers dont even know what it is), thus the price isnt backed up with something real. Personally, I failed to find the one and only weighty cutting edge of the model, saving for it being pleasant to play around with.

  • "The advantages about W850/W830 is that it feels more solid, though the sliding mech will be a bit loose, it's an SE though lacking AF and it's more of a pure music phone too." SE has cracked Dpad problem, so the quality is not up to par.

  • SE W850i had crack Dpad problem pal, how is that for built quality?

  • If anyone wants to compare music on Motorola, compare it with the ROKR E2 and Rokr E6. These are music phones. Please don't compare with Razr series. Aples with apples please

  • My experience with Moto phones: 1) Very good built quality, will last very long with nice product design 2) Very good reception and call quality (as in making phone calls) 3) Stable software, will not switch off or hang easily like Nokia or SE 4) Poor features, camera and implementation of new technology

  • Hey I don't have a comment but I have a question, does anyone know how to set your own song as the ring tone? If you do please e-mail me - [email protected] Thanks.

  • This phone looks good and everything, and I don't want to steal it's attention away towards the W850, but; This phone catches finger prints and shows them off very very easily because of the light black kinda backing for the glass, it's a motorola (No offence, I don't have anything against motos) so at times it's reception may be poor along with call quality, but it's hardware will definitely be good like it's mp3 player and such. Camera, don't know yet, but I've always thought that Nokia and SE have had better quality and resolutions based on the following phones; Nokia 3220/6131/6282 Moto T720/V220/V3i/K1 SE W300/W600/W800/W810/W850/W900 I've also heard from many reviews and friend's experiences that the A2DP is a bit weak with the phone too. They have other SE headsets and the quality of the music is poor. But I've never heard anything about the HBH-DS970, does anyone know about the quality with that headset? The advantages about W850/W830 is that it feels more solid, though the sliding mech will be a bit loose, it's an SE though lacking AF and it's more of a pure music phone too. I feel that the MOTOs when taking a picture, it looks different (again with the resolution) while when you take pictures with the Nokia phones, it's a bit better, though with SE it's like the picture isn't in a box, it's just in light. It's hard to explain.

  • im really wanting to own a motorola phone. but i still do want pretty sleek features. v6 comes close. is this phone really good? or are there other motorolas that have both better features and design? cos having used nokias since like forever, i need a great phone that i wouldn't spot its flaws that easily.

  • This phone is excellent, and internet is very fast. To anyone who has this phone with cingular, Tou need to change your phones settings to the Razv V3xx at cingulars website, and from there you can configure internet settings and MMS messaging

  • @vkQk, Dude... u are wrong on a few points. Your Bad points and my answers: - fingerprints very very very easily- True but which phone does not really? - MP3 player is crap (compared to the w800i)-don't really agree here dude. The W8001 is a music phone by trade... the Maxx is not so how u expect them to be on par is rather not feasible. You should have got the Rokr E6 if u anted a music phone. -No ability to delete multiple or all contacts (unless you do master reset and wipe the whole phone) - this is REALLY annoying, I don't know why Motorola don't do something about this?? - This is absolutely wrong and misleading info u just gave here. Try going into your phonebook... select "Options"... then select "SELECT MULTIPLE TO"... Select "Delete"... u can then choose as many as u want to delete or, select "OPTIONS"... and choose "SELECT ALL". - synchronising results in double ups and you can only fix by deleting the offending appointments from the phone which can get annoying, no option I can find to erase phone first before syncing (this resolved double ups with the w800i)- thats kinda weird cos i've never experienced this... must be your sync set up on MPT... check it again and maybe change ur settings. - only comes with a 64MB memory card as opposed to the 512MB memory card that comes with the w800i - This is incorrect... it's where u purchased ur phone from that put only a 64MB card. From Orange Uk i got 256 card when i got the V3x feb 20006... and got a 512mb card with the V6 maxx when i got the phone December 2006 currently with 483mb unused. - no easy way to set a recurring alarm without hitting "enable" on it each time - thats true though...quite annoying.

  • The computer Sync, does that mean this can only load/upload files/songs through their MOTO program (CD)? Can you just load on files as if it was a mass storage device? Has anyone tried to see if the 4GB card works on this phone?

  • how much can the memory card be expanded?

  • I have been doing some study on this phone and the V3xx. The V3xx looks good but the keypad is old and I still prefer my V3i keypad. I looked at the Maxx and I loved it. better feel, better camera, beautiful keypad and many other features has made me to make my mind and will purchasse the V6 Maxx. I recommend this to all who are looking for a top quality 3G phone. This phoen is a winner.

  • Overall this is a pretty cool phone, I've had a Motorola before (v620) and I hated it so much I sold it after 3 months. This one is definitely an improvement on older models, most noteably the navigation seems easier and you can search for contact using more than just the first letter. The following are the good and bad points, note that I previously had a Sony Ericsson w800i, to be honest the w800i didn't need to be replaced at all but I had the phone switched to the business. Good: - looks really cool, I love simple black elegant phones - excellent display - easy to navigate - generally is a pleasure to use - love the keypad - not bulky in your jacket pocket - not at slim as the original v3 but much slimmer than some of the other v3 versions - outside display is a nifty feature - doesn't have any extraneous bits that fall off and get lost easily - the camera seems to be better than the w800i even though they are both 2MB Bad: - fingerprints very very very easily - MP3 player is crap (compared to the w800i), sound quality isn't good and doesn't seem an easy way to get the songs sorted in the right order (i've tried naming the songs "01 - name of song" etc..), the earphones are crap and don't fit in your ear very well - no ability to delete multiple or all contacts (unless you do master reset and wipe the whole phone) - this is REALLY annoying, I don't know why Motorola don't do something about this?? - synchronising results in double ups and you can only fix by deleting the offending appointments from the phone which can get annoying, no option I can find to erase phone first before syncing (this resolved double ups with the w800i) - only comes with a 64MB memory card as opposed to the 512MB memory card that comes with the w800i - no easy way to set a recurring alarm without hitting "enable" on it each time

  • Ah.. nvm now it turned on after 1.5 days, so what was wrong. Was the battery frozen as it was in +12-15 for few nights?

  • Do u know whats wrong with my phone it wount turn on anymore like there wasnt any battery, the keyboard lights up and the chargeing light is on when charged but nothing happens. So is the battery broken? The phone worked fine for few weeks. The battery is on its place.

  • Probably only battery settings, then it caps the networking on the phone. A question, has anyone found a 4GB MicroSD yet? Have you tried it with the MaxxV6 to see if it works?

  • For the bluetooth headsets to hear the music that works only is the -Sony Ericsson HBH DS970 does the razr h3 work or wat are all the bluetooth headsets work?? PLEASE AND THANK YOU

  • Does anyone know how you set the network from 3g to GSM only? I`ve read the manual up and down but cant find it.

  • this phone has the fastest processor that i tried. awesome

  • Nice battery life. I think there was a post a few months ago with the link to the manual. Search down, it's not too far.

  • Thanks Jeremy. As for the guy below asking about battery life, my unit hs been on for 29 hours now and still have 60% battery life left. had about 30 sms and 10 min talk time used plus a lot of tinkering.

  • Tri-Band, Danny

  • Got mine in the Philippines yesterday. It's assembled in Singapore and my box says UMTS 2100 GSM900/1800/1900/ HSDPA. What's missing is the 850. Does this make my phone quad or tri band?

  • Where can I get the Razr Maxx V6 manuel in English?

  • if you do not need the 3G or HSDPA service then set the service to GSM and you will get a longer battery life..

  • To hear songs on your bluetooth headset, you'll need a headset with stereo capabilities. The Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 is a perfect example.

  • does any of you guys know how to connect this phone to another phone via bluetooth? I've tried everything now and it just won't connect.

  • -Does anyone know if you can have a bluetooth headset and hear the songs??? because i heard you can but rather make sure -Also does anyone know what is the cheapest price for this phone and where i can find it cheap

  • I just wanna ask, after buying the fone and charging it for a reccommended 8 hrs,how long shld the fone last? Becausse for mine i set my sms alert to mp3 songs. And the fone lasted me prob ard, 16 hrs? Is that normal?

  • i usually go to newmobile.com for info but its undergoing maintenance but cant find out if its cif video recording.I also cant find out if this time the graphics proccessor in it is used in the photo & video section as in the v3x its not. This is the only deciding factor

  • nop, my V6 can play Mp3 and itunes aac, WMA and wav and many others, havent tried 320 kps though

  • I heard tha in K800i you have to convert all your music files to AAC in order to use the player?(MP3 format for ringtones only). Is this the same on the V6maxx?

  • Finally got it today in Singapore. OMG, i love it, cheers MOTO, u did it with another great phone

  • why does every internet site say that this fone is tri band gsm when it clearly says on the box 3G UMTS2100/850 GSM900/1800/1900/HSDPA?

  • I agree with jade. Here's 1 good review tho I have the maxx and i've read the review. 1 thing i do disagree with them is the camera quality. I have both the Maxx and the V3x and when i compare the picture quality, i thought the maxx was slightly better.

  • I think this phone is cool enough for a review, right people. C'mon administrators please make it happen

  • I tried it out in SgWang, Malaysia too. Orig handset at RM1690. The loading is indeed very fast, and I notice a new row of shortcuts for quick access to common used features. Its indeed an improvement to the old moto ui.

  • Every thing opens and loads fast here except the web-browser. The web-browser on the Nokia E60 and N73 is much better. Other wise this phone loads and opens much quicker then the Nokia and Sony Ericsson.

  • I have had my motorola maxx v6 for a couple months now, but im finding the battery does not last as much. and when i make a call and use the net the back of the phone gets very hot and i cant touch it. Does anyone else have these problems??

  • Yea, I love the touch sensitive buttons and the fact that I can use my HBH-DS970 with it. It's like the ultimate combo. I'm just sad it's current capacity is 2 gigs, but w/e. On my 810, I'm only filling 3.2 gigs, so might as well cut down lol Another thing is, how's the quality with the 320kbts format music? It's nice to know it works, but I want to know if it doesn't downgrade it's quality

  • they say this phone beats the K800i by 4%, but they didnt mention the touch sensitive keys and the bluetooth with a2dp on the maxx, so in reality the maxx beats the K800i by more than 4%

  • this fone beats the sony ericsson k800i

  • Got the phone yesterday and havent had any problems. Loads music very fast from comp and the quality is also good. Everything on the phone works very fast almost no loading times.

  • i put a 320kpbs mp3 it does works, its clear and good, i bought it and im the 2nd buyer in the philippines! its soo good but if u compare it to the k800i k800i is better in features but the v6maxx is hella stylish and sexy!@ ahahah! its good buy it!

  • For the person looking at the 850, I think this one is better. I had that on my mind too. But if you're looking for SE, wait for the 610. It kicks the 850's ass by a long shot if you don't care about 3G.

  • This is to Nik.. I posted a review before about this. You can flip back and read the posts..

  • when having an mp3 ringtone, how is the volume in a noisy environment? is it loud or cannot hear it well,,, can someone plz reply

  • what's the difference between this and the V3xx?

  • Can it sync with Lotus notes ???

  • when have an mp3 ringtone, how is the volume in a noisy environment? can someone plz reply

  • Well Done Moto! Another Classic Razr series! When your onto a winner stick with it! Just make it Shiny and New Upgrade some stuff and add it in to the RAZR Family! So Far So Good, Keep it up and the Razr will go down with stand out brands Nike, Ferrari and Pepsi as the biggest and Best!

  • Does not work on the V6... once closed it turns speaker off and ends call. I know it's nothing more than a SEEM edit they left unticked so nothing major... but to do it u gotta know what SEEM it is first.

  • I got my v6 a few days ago and love it. However when i make call with speaker phone and close lid it hangs up my other v3x did not do this does anyone know how i can get this corrected?

  • how is the volume in a noisy environment ?

  • This is for stylinexpat... Mate...sorted out the problem with the Hide Private Number issue. The numbers need to be stored on the SIM card... once stored there u would have the feature showing when u go into edit a contact... or when adding a new contact. Thank god for that... no need to MOD phone now... btw... the default code is 00000000... then u can change it to a 4digit password or above... as u wish. Cool runs...

  • Oh noes, two more versions of this baby. Ve from Verizon which enlarged the screen AND the phone by a bit. Moved around the cam, and changed the keypad. It's silver now, so it's not the durable ones like in Asia where you can write with your finger on the keypad. The other version, Ferarri Challenge. Everything themed Ferarri, even the lights went red. Atleast that one kept the durable keypad.

  • So, loudspeaker, it'll sound horrible, but on the headsets or bluetooth earphones, it'll sound the same as it was (CD/Mastered quality).

  • Yes it can. Nor rekk over 320. Buy a cable, miniusb-3,5mm and you will get better sound

  • You can play mp3s higher than 128 but it sounds awfulon the handset speaker it cant handle it.the best quality is 128 mono beleive it or not

  • i think its possible

  • I'm reading the MaxxV6 manual, and it says it can't play MP3 files that are higher then 128kbits of quality. Can/did anyone try if 320kbits quality music works on the Maxx? (It says some error message or message to delete it would come up.)

  • Yes, 1.1 can connect to 2.0.

  • can a phone with bluetooth v2.0 connect to another phone using bluetooth v1.1? thx

  • This is a great handset. I like the design of this motorola phone. The camera of this handset is really amazing 2MP of camera is great. Good job motorola!

  • Airplane mode means you can use anything on the phone while flying in a plane. It just shuts off the Reception sode of things so you cant make calls. Means it wont mess with the plane and you wont go plummeting down from 30,000 feet in the air!

  • what does airplane mode do? thx

  • this phone is great ive been using it for a week and i didnt manage to hav any problem at all i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Seperate mode is the same as airplane mode, which i can find in MAxx V6

  • dude, u forgot a larger screen with QVGA resolution, and HSDPA =) 3.6MBPS real HSDPA with nVidia GForce 4800 graphic processor=) 2 screens, 1 outisde for self portrait and of course u get a better design phone.. Dont forget video conference

  • I'm having trouble opening web pages on the phone, can anyone help?

  • I feel like I'm trading so many things from the W810i to the MaxxV6... W810i (lose); AF, small candybar design, HSCSD (noticible difference from older phone [3220]), 850 GSM band, FM radio with RDS, Picture editor, 4-8Gb capacity, unique SE software (took a long time to get used to it), separate operating mode (Phone/mp3), 32x24 pixels of display, infrared, walkman navigation. MaxxV6 (gain); slimmer flip + glass & light design, touch sensitive music player, simple MOTO navigation (used to have a V220/T720), 3G + 2ndry VGA camera, longer battery life, A2DP + AVRCP bluetooth with advanced data packet speed booster. I'm really on about the A2DP (for mp3 bluetooth headset) and the trade offs seem mutual. Anyone help with this decision?

  • its a spectacular phone.. i dont like video n music enabled phone much.. Just it would have been better if it could have Flash Enabled webpages like applications made in macromedia flash... And some more megabytes of memory... thanking you... bibinkrishna p subramanian HTMT

  • i also 4get 2 ask how does de sound compare 2 de w series

  • hows de sound of the phone? doesn't come wid 3.5mm adapter? hows the speaker n bat lyf?

  • u can download eng version from HK Motorola site (eng one): click on user manual...

  • My has dansk, danish. I'm swede so we will probably have the "same" phone

  • Can anyone tell me whether the mobile have Danish, or Dansk language, I would appreciate it very much! :)

  • as for the SCPL, i got some info, theres 2 phones i think, one a higher end, the other one a lower end. 2mpx, design is absolutle different from b4, w8 and see guys, at 3GSM barcelona

  • 3GSM february in Barcelona. THe mysterious SCPL platform 3G phones and i think a UIQ symbian phone will be announced(secret source) with 2mpx and wifi, codename Espoo. But i have not seen pics yet. Espoo is the city where Nokia's HQ is.

  • Yeap, A2DP means comply to all headphones with A2DP.

  • Gem should be able to donwload the manual for Motorola'sweb site.

  • Hi I know this question has been asked but can't find the answer - does anyone know where I can get an English copy of the instruction manual. Just received the phone today and am pleased with it but not sure how certain parts work! Thanks

  • This phone is more than great!

  • Does anyone know if this works with the Sony Ericsson wireless bluetooth headset HBH-DS970? It says this phone has A2DP bluetooth music/mp3 functions, but I want to make sure that it works with the headset before I buy this phone.

  • There is no autofocus Camera is not that good, but in general it is a very good phone.

  • To my knowledge the covers can not be changed except by taking the phone to Motorola to replace the cover for you. The phone should already be availabel in Dubai. I have not been able to find a spare battery as of yet from Motorola though. Maybe in another week or two they should release spare batteries. Battery lasts long if you are just using the GSM network but if you use 3G then the battery time is cut down quite a bit .

  • hey guys is there any way possible that the blue lites in the front display stay on or turn on when i press a button?? not only when someone calls... thats besides the mp3 blue lites

  • does anyone know if you can change the covers on these?

  • i mean autofocus

  • but it does have austofocus

  • In Canada, phone is released for $500 Only works on EDGE, GPRS, HSPDA, UMTS, GSM 900/1800/1900 found it on ebay for only $150 but lost the auction at $200

  • @ SrFabio Maxx V6 should be the revolution of V3x, but unfortunately, it doesn't have macro function in it, so taking close up photo is not as good.

  • Anyone knows if it has Auto-focus or something like that(macro)? The v3x has macro mode shooting so v6 should have it too since it is an "evolution" from v3 series.

  • Hey, i tried the phone but i seem to have some problem using the GPRS function. Have you guys experienced it before? It say invalid url but the setting are all ok. When i tried it with another mobile, it alright.

  • It's a very good mobile with a brilliant display. I can recommend it!

  • Yes it does! I have a European/Australian model.

  • Charges via the USB when connected to a computer, right? You have a European model?

  • The phone does charge via USB.

  • my rokr E2 yes, but not recommended to charge using computer as it is MUCH slower than charging via AC adaptor

  • I have pretty much tried everything and this phone will not let me privatize my contacts but what is odd is that the features for this function are available in the security section of the phone under settings but it won't allow me to privatize them. Oh well, phone is good other then that for the basic calls and other features that it has. No other major problems as of now.

  • Anyone know if this phone will charge via the USB data connection? I have had some motorola phones that do, and some that don't: v3 (original) NO Pebl No Slvr Yes All Swedish versions.

  • yes, you can make your call number private and it does have a speakerfone

  • Getting this fone today...is it possible to make your fone number private wen u call to other pplz?

  • does this phone have speaker phone ???

  • Orange have obviously messed with the software on the Orange version a little cos my Orange version does not have the Private Number option when you go into edit contacts. Now i gotta go view dem modding sites to hook it up... damn networks.

  • 'very high technology phone in 21st century'

  • To stylinexpat, You need to edit a contact to make it private. When you edit it, the last option is 'Private: Off'. Change it to 'on'. It will dissapear. To show it, go into security, click on 'Show Private Entries', (default password is 00000000), and it will appear in your list. If you get a call, or message, their name still doesnt come up, unless the security setting is on 'show'. To hide private entries you do not need a password. You can change it, in 'New Passwords'. Need any help, just e-mail me. Daniel

  • OMG!!! What use is a phone with a QVGA screen that doesn't play full screen QVGA videos? It's completely useless. That sucks. So far, I'm glad I haven't bought it yet. Has anyone found a way to hack this?

  • i know its not xenon, but i did'nt think it was LED either, because i thought LED flashes are like big white bulb but on my maxx, the flash has two small yellow squares in it.

  • is LED, not Xenon

  • Does anyone know what kind of flash the RAZR Maxx has? Xenon? LED?

  • I bought mine here in Taiwan. Changed the language to English in the language section of the settings. Went to find Private to privatize some of my personal phone numbers and was unable to do so. 1st. there was no private in English as three different characters had popped up in Chinese. Kind of odd as everything else was in English except for the categories in the Phonebook section of the listings. There was one in Chinese which was supposed to mean private after asking someone to tanslate for me still did not work in privatizing a telephone number. Anyone here chime in? I have a 2Gb. memory card installed and it works great. On ecan shoose whether or not to enable the show private listings but regardless of whether or not it was enabled I was still not able to privatize any numbers. On Dialled numbers my phone was able to log 36 Dialled numbers which is very good and beats the 20 that Nokia used to remember.

  • any1,,is the picture of this fone as gud as 2mp sonny ericsson camera?

  • 2 below. That question is answerd by me a while ago.

  • i think theres USB to 3.5mm adaptor for sale, check it out in ur local motorola dealer or any shops, i saw one before.

  • Anyone from north of the border where the rivers run fresh and the beavers- w/e Anyone from Canada get this phone yet? I know it's out, but I want to know versatility and mobility with this, mainly within Southern Ontario (GTA/Toronto area). Also bumping info from another guy, he saw something that said UMTS2100/850 GSM900/1800/1900/HSDPA on the box of his MaxxV6. Does that mean it's like QuintBand? And it'll work with EDGE/850 band networks?

  • Had this phone a month now. I still love it. I was initially concerned about scratches on the glass exterior. Not one scratch after a months use and it has had a few knocks. Am very impressed. All the functions can be accessed very quickly. There is no delay after selecting a function at all. They just pop up as soon as you press the key. The music player is so good I have decided not to bother getting the ipod nano I was going to buy. One small thing I am not very keen on is the supplied headphones. They work very well as a hands free kit but the earpieces don't fit me very well. Haven't seen any mini usb to 3.5mm adapters anywhere so will have to do for the moment. I was surprised that I could play back music through a standard bluetooth headset.

  • qvga doesnt work. it's qcif (?) that's working right now. BUT some rumors are saying that with some hacking/unlocking you can play 320x240 rez.

  • Hey is anyone on here "really" tech-savy as far as videography on this Maxx? If so, tell me exactly in what folder did you put your music videos or movies in the "mobile" folder on your memory card for them to play on the phone? I converted all of my music videos and movies in to QVGA "3GP" & "MP4" formats and the phone still couldn't read them or play them. They all played on my Samsungs D900 AND A707 in QVGA. They also worked for the RIZR in 220x176 resolution. I just can't seem to get them up and running. What software program is everyone using to convert their videos for this phone?

  • Headphones with wires works. I got headhphones in my package but if you don't you need to buy a converter from mini usb to 3.5mm or buy moto original.

  • do u need bluetooth headphones to listen to music or can u use headphones with wires?

  • Hmmm, I heard that Americans are stuck at 3g so the phone only work in bigger cities (you don't have it out in the country) The usual band 2g, is not avaible due to the missing band 850. See more here; I live in sweden, so I have 2g, 3g, EDGE and HSPDA here. 3g also has better coverage then the 2g out in the country, thumbs up! But our country is a little smaller then yours, hehe:)

  • "The 3g is fast, but I only have hspda in the city. This phone will only work with 3g in usa at the moment, not 2g. People are working on it though." Are you talking about EDGE because I've heard from people who got the phone that they are stuck with EDGE because they don't have 3G by them. But your 3G does work where you live correct (and it's in the USA?)

  • Bought this phone on orange. The battery life is great, love the keypad and the general feel. Any ideas how to get rid of the odd fingerprint on the glass front that won't budge with a cloth?

  • is razr maxx's flash LED or xenon?

  • To people below: Musicplayer original is in the software, NOT a javaapp. Some providors do put an extra javaplayer in it. The 3g is fast, but I only have hspda in the city. This phone will only work with 3g in usa at the moment, not 2g. People are working on it though. Its quadband. The number you show is 3g and hspda.

  • Hey ya guys with the V6 maxx, can u tell me is the music player in it a JAVA app same as the V3x? or its a flash baseD?

  • how fast does the 3G work in the areas that people have it? I'm in NYC with 3G it should work right it's not only european 3g?

  • I just got a RAZR Maxx V6 around 2 weeks ago, and i checked the box the phone came in and it actually says: UMTS2100/850 GSM900/1800/1900/HSDPA does this mean that it can recieve 5 bands, therefore even better than a quadband?

  • Hey i just got this phone today and what i noticed everytime i call my voicemail i get a text message anyone has the same problem...and i am from The United States NY.

  • Hello, Can anyone please tell me if it's possible to store phonebook entries on the microSD card ? Please answer by direct e-mail. Thanks a lot, Răzvan

  • @ Aramyn Savoi major difference: V3x : 3G phone, thicker in size Maxx V6: HSDPA phone (faster than 3G), thinner in size, music phone.

  • It has IM in the software yes, not a javaapp.

  • Hi, I simply would like to know if this phone has an instant messaging engine that uses java or its own engine and not text messaging to get and receives messages. I only really need Yahoo! or AIM. What is the major difference between the V6 Maxx and the V3x?

  • People with this phone: Im not a mobile fanatic as many, but a new feature my last phone didnt have (LG M4410 - biggest mistake) is making contacts private. You can choose to hide them. I got stuck, and changed a contact to private. I then couldnt find it, so I contacted Motorola. The phones default is to hide it, so to show hidden contacts go to: settings > security > show private entries enter in 00000000 (8 zeros). It will say accepted. You can change it by going to: settings > security > new passwords > private entries code : enter in 00000000 and change it to what you want. The feature is very handy for me, especially having people's numbers, that you would prefer people not to know if they are sneaking through it. Hope this comes in handy for some of you guys!

  • The razr's are weak. Let's try something new, instead of upgrades of the razr..Thanks-Jim

  • on this page they show many web sites to buy it from dont make the mistake i did, dont but it from WWW.LALA-WEST.COM there very irresponsable people way too relax to do anything and have a P.O.C service trust me i buy cell phones all the time and would not recomend them at all

  • I have had my phone for a few days time now and battery life is quite good. It uses less battery when using only GSM but if you are using 3G then it will use more battery but still get good battery life out of it. Reception on this phone has been great and sound quality has been great the only part that loses to the Nokia N73 is the Speakerphone which is louder on the N73.

  • Good one there. I have it and I love it. It ain't much negative with this phone at all. BTW, yes n76 is so ugly and bad.

  • Anybody who posts negative comments on this here "Maxx" obviously hasn't personally used it. Has anyone here looked at the New "Nokia N76?" Tell me what you honestly think about it's looks & functionality.

  • Like SE builds high quality phones with amazing cases and functions. Their originality is ridiculous.

  • How can u say it is low quality, have u even used?

  • i read that motorola hasn't made that much profit over the last year, hope they go bankrupt, i am sick of these stupid, low-quality phones..

  • I also had a problem with my V3i about the high pitch sound when charging. I hate the sounds especially when i'm charging the phone while i'm asleep at night. At first, I thought that my charger would explode when i first heard it. But i also asked my classmates who also had Motorola phones, they said they also hear the sound while charging.

  • anyone noticed a high pitch sound (not very loud) coming out of the phone when charging? cheers

  • I have purchased this phone in Italy, and I do love it. I wish I could find a manual in english. Can anyone help?

  • Well... checked it myself and you cant save messages to ur Storage Card as the Nokia phones go...however you can mod your phone and get some after market software to do it... just like you can mod motorola phones to do it too but not factory implemented. here's what it says on www.allaboutsymbian.com: "No built-in capabilities for that, but search for "msdrivee" and try that (make a backup first, though, because it might not work that well, or then again it could...). " and here is the software once installed - open msvdrivee and from then on incoming message will be stored in mmc to see if u have done it succefully go on messaging and u should see a memory card icon... Attached Files msvdrivee.sis (1.2 KB) Guess thats sorted then.

  • Dude below... can you show me where you can do that and i'll accept your view...till then i dont think so. From what i know... it's either your in built phone memory or SIM card memory... not your Storage card/momory card/sd card as it is called. Just show me a snippet where it say's so and i'll take what i said back. Dude asked whether you can on the Razr Maxx and i'm 100% sure you cant... if u can on Nokia's then so be it.

  • Dude, u CAN save message to ur memory card or storage card or whatever you call it. Have a look in Nokia cells with symbian OS. Check before answer

  • Men some of u ask the most ridiculous questions on here like ya'll don't have no brains or something... please read or search theinternet b4 asking. Dude with the MP3 problem... maybe you saved bad files cos i have MP3 songs on my Storage card and and phone memory and they all play. What exactly are u doing...or not doing? I feel u've probably saved files that are too large or just corrupt. Dude talking bout saving stuff like Nokia Symbian. First things first... there's nothing like Nokia Symbian... there's Symbian software used by Nokia and loads of other phone manufaturers...even Motorola uses it on their A920, A925 and A1000 3G phone and some others. To answer ur question... messages are saved to either your phone memory or your SIM/USIM card... NOT YOUR STORAGE CARD. On the razr maxx they are saved to your phone memory.

  • can someone help me? i put some MP3 file musics in the memory card but it's not playing...can someone tell me how to make the music play ? thank you

  • May I know which motorola phones support memory backup or save message in to your memory card like Nokia Symbian..??

  • V6 maxx has UMTS 2100Mhz as well as UMTS 850Mhz. Cingular in the USA and Telstra in Australia both run these 850Mhz UMTS/HSDPA networks.

  • Hi guys comming with a small update of the phone.. The phone is great..keeping in mind that i have never used a Motorola in my life. I picked up a v3i and a v3x from a friend of mine just to compare them to the V6 Maxx...and boy the phone is out the world...the display is great..the reception is mind blowing..but i must add that a time i did here an echo dureing the call of my own voice but that hasn't happned since last night and hasent happned since then.. What came in the box ? 1. The phone (Black) 2. Battery (BZ60) 3. Usb cable 4. Motorola Phone Tooles CD 5. Ear phones (single eneded) 6. Manual First things first the the Phones apparence is great.I was not wery happy with the V3 when it launched but then kind of grew to like it , hence the V6 maxx has landed up in my hands. The phones software is out the world , the V3i and V3x dont even come close to the the V6 Maxx..Motorola has realy worked on the probs that they had with the v3i and v3x and totaly give for the first time something that could be the thing if you can get around the totaly different style that Motorola OS works..which is to say not bad at all... The features are very pratical and user friendly once you get around to knowing them . The personalization is noway even close to the SE's or Nokia but its not bad either.. The audio quality i must say is not bad for a phone of this size..Noway close to the SE's but ok..the touch key are good no probs yet.. Mind you the Motorola Tools CD that comes with the phone is not updated..so after instaling it on the comp you will need to download the updateed version from the net..which i feel is a little stupid never the less that how it goes...Motorola heads up....(about nearly 40Mb) The MMS and GPRS settings in my network need to be down loaded by following a few easy steps from the Hellomoto.com...But mind you , you will not find the V6 maxx on the list of phones there so i did try the settings for the V3x and was up and running... I will update further once i get fingering it.. Hope you liked the review , since it my frist one... Please forgive the english as i'am no good at it..

  • Dead link, sorry!

  • please help. Can you save SMS (text messages) using the memory card, or just the phone memory??? thanks.

  • so does the 3G work in the US I heard it only has UMTS2100 which is not available in n. america

  • BTW, took some pictures compared with v620 - maxx

  • Iv got this phone for aprox 2 weeks now and I love it! Some may say that it is big, hell no! It's wider then my old v620 but damn it's thin for a 3g phone!

  • @ simao: date of release? australia was the first one to get this phone and its been out for a few months now. its $729AUD at Telstra(the only company selling this phone in aus right now) and the cheapest plan is $40 per month on a 2 year contract

  • LOL, look at N80 and N91 and whoa.. Lots of others, u will know the answer.. Giant

  • huge??? wht in god's name would u call Nokia N93 or SE W900i??

  • i thought this was smaller but actually its huge very dissapointed!!!!!!!

  • is there any way to use different wallpapers for the external and internal screen? cheers

  • i would like to ask whether the number of sms i can store is depends on the memory card like those in nokia phone??

  • I just bought one today and will update you guys on how it performs in a day or two. I have tested the internet browser today using 3G and it loads up pretty quick but the browser is not as user friendly as the Nokia E60 where the little cursor moves around the screen like a mouse on the Nokia E60. Volume from the headset is not bad but could be a bit louder for noisy areas (lots in Taipei). Will see how many numbers this device can remember for dialled, called and missed calls. Reception from what I have seen in the last few hours has beeen excellent with full bars on my Motorola where other phones I have had in the same areas weren't able to do. Phone looks really good in hand.

  • Is it a stereo headset that comes with this phone?

  • When I edit a contact, the last option is 'private'. It is usually on 'off', but I put it on 'on' for one of my contacts, and now it has dissappeared. Does anyone know how to get a certain playlist to play without changing it each time, rather than having most played. It plays the music on the phone, and it is annoying... Thanks in advance. Daniel

  • Hi I thought the blue lights were meant to flash when the phone was on silent and charging. I have looked at the phone setting and both the charging lights and ring lights are activated. But nothing happens. Is anyone else experiencing this problem in the silent mode and charging mode? Cheers

  • To bokaboi69, Please feel free to email me any questions. To stylinexpat, The speaker works great. I am not a cell phone guru like most on this site, but I do stay current with my technology, and this speaker works wonderfully. The sound quality from the earpiece is great! I was just in a very loud restaurant (Hooters) and I actually turned my earpiece volume level down because it was too loud!! Impressive, huh!!

  • Can someone here comment on the sound quality of the calls and the volume level for both speaker phone and the basic speaker? I tested a new K800i today by Sony Ericsson and the volume level seemed quite low even with the phone held closely to my ear.

  • To bokaboi69, I am in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I have traveled within the Sunise, Lauderhill, Coral Springs, Plantation area with this phone so far...and I have had great reception. There has not been any problems. Unfortunately, when I get inside my home, I get "questionable" coverage (meaning my phone works but only when it is strategically placed in certain parts of the house). I believe it is because of the lack of the 850mh band. I contacted Cingular prior to purchasing the phone, and they checked the towers within my local coverage area...they told me that mostly all of the towers had BOTH an 850mh, and a 1900mh band on them. That is probably why I can use my phone with ease anywhere outside my house. Additionally, my phone works fine inside buildings. I work in an office that resembles a "tin can", and my signal strength is at MAX. Again, the only problem I have is in my house...and knowing that the lower the frequency (i.e. 850mh) the better it is to travel through walls. I'm thinking either the tower close to my house is only an 850mh tower, or the walls on my house are too thick for the higher frequency (i.e., 1900mh) to travel through. I am going onto Howardforums right now...hopefully you have the solution.

  • How did you mate it private mate?... don't even know how to do it. Explain how you did it maybe i can help.

  • Hi, I have just bought this phone, and so far its great! However I have edited a contact, and made it private, as I dont want people to find it. Now it has dissapeared, and I cant find it. I need this number! How does it work, the private number thing? Daniel

  • JARED, go on howardforums, me and couple of friends who already own the phone are working on an 850 seem edit. AIM me at bokaboi69

  • Jared, where in south florida are you? I'm in boca raton, fl and am wanting this phone but worried about the reception, since i heard people with 1900 european phones get lousy coverage i.e. i320n. Please let me know man

  • I have the Razr Maxx, and I can't believe how great it is! I use it with Cingular's network, and I live in the South Florida Region. Prior to buying the phone, I contacted Cingular, and asked if a tri-band phone would work. They said yes, and they were correct! I do experience a few "dead" spots and a lack of service within my house because of the missing 850mh band, but through time, I'm sure one of you guys can come up with the software program for the additional service coverage. I have problems connecting to the web, too, but I'm sure there is a program out there. If anyone knows of a program to get Cingular's web access, MMS, and extra 850mh band strength programmed onto this phone, please respond....I greatly appreciate your feedback, your advice, and your help.

  • Hi guy comming with a small update of the phone..

  • how much longer 'till the international version will be available, tired of waiting. and just noticed that if i glanced at it, it looked like it was made by an ordinary plastic, not to sophisticated. it has an unreasonable high price

  • I have had mine for almost a month, I just had to take it back for a replacement as the wake up alarm randomly stopped working! any one else had this problem? I have come from a nokia and miss my smiley faces, any idea how to get them on this phone? All in all an excellent phone!

  • hey guys i got this phone like 6 days ago n i'm in love wit the phone. this is the best moto phone ever built. i've been usin nokia n sony phone all my life but n i also had v3 razr but this is nothin like anythin i've ever had or used b4 very good phone worth every single penny go get it wont b disapointd. I DO HAVE ONE QUESTION THOUGH IS THERE ANYWAY THAT THE BLU LITE IN FRONT GO ON IF PRESSED A BUTTON OR SOMETHING??? NOT THE MP3 KEY THOUG THE M SYMBOL N THE OTHE 2 LINES. THANKYA KINDLY -:MAXX:

  • To a guy a while ago who dared SE to make a phone as thin or even within the diamentions of this phone as good. There is one coming out. As thin or even thinner than the iPod Nano and it's a candybar shape. W880 me thinks it is.

  • phone is out in canada now, it has been unlocked, soon to come to a store near you in 1-2 months price should be about 550 as i got offered for it that much no memory card with it though 1gb is 40 and 2 is 100

  • when this phone be released in the philippines?

  • It's out in HK at HK$3380. I was told it comes with flash and faster download.

  • not sure, but according to reliable source, This month around 20th, in Singapore, not sure about m'sia

  • this has got to be the flagship motorola phone!!! Still waiting for it in msia. Saw the cool lights it have in youtube!!! luv it. anybody knows when its going to be out in singapore or msia?

  • After I got this phone Friday from I thought it would be a phone I would only have for a few months. But if a phone could last forever this would be my choice. Its a great upgrade in overall appearance and data transfer from my V3x. Anyone want a one owner V3x?

  • If this phone would be cheaper : (

  • @ Help Please Settings - Ring Style - second option (the ring style u chose) - is either "messenger" or "messenging"

  • Does anyone know how to change the message alert tone? Cheers

  • also maxx v3 doesn't have the 2 blue lines. maxx v6 have them flashes when a call or msg is received.

  • anonymouz maxx v3 has 1.3mega pixel camera with no flash maxx v6 has 2.0mega pixel camera with a flash also maxx v6 is promoted as a music phone by MMoto, while maxx v3 is just a normal HSDPA phone

  • i have a question whats the diffrent between the maxx v6 and the maxx v3 and when the maxx v3 recieve calls does it lights up 2 blue lines n the motorola m in the front please let me know thank you!

  • @ Confused Thats the whole idea mate... it's so that there aint loads of unwanted songs on there taking up space and unable to delete like previously. Which is what most people tend to moan about all the time that there are crap songs and blah blah blah which they never listen to and instead download what they wanna hear. Thats what the MP3 is for innit... like an ipod.

  • Hi I thought this phone had heaps of polyphonic that was already on it. But I only have 9 and a few songs. Is this right? Am i missing something? Cheers

  • It's maxx v6 not maxx v3. Maxx v3 is in some countries a v3xx

  • v3maxx is one of the most fashionable fones on the market !! it has great features , lovely keypad , and flash on its camera the only thing thats not good is that it is not able to maintain its v3 dimensions !! it has 15 mm thickness while the v3i manages to have good features in just 13.9 mm !! i luv v3s because they all look good !!

  • Hi, Does anyone know how to get the wallpaper that's displayed in this picture and on the box? Cheers

  • @Gym I think this hasnt been out in Singapore, i tried singtel, maybe we should w8 for the operators. Maybe sim lim has it, maybe the Hk version but the singapore version hasnt been out yet

  • That means that Orange is running its own software in there or an additional software that may have reprogrammed the number of calls to be increased from the original 10 numbers. If you buy an original unlocked phone from Motorola then it only remembers 10 numbers each. Orange usually has their own Software installed on most phones. Here is an example:

  • mine is UK vodafone version got it few days ago Dialled 17 Received 8 Missed 4 total equal 29

  • quick correction... phone was delivered to Orange on 30/12/2006.

  • @ stylinexpat... My phones a UK version from Orange... delivered to Orange on the 20/12/2006... they had only 3 delivered and i managed to get the last one that day. Orange branded and all. If the one's u've seen only hold 10 then all i can say is it mst be the Networks that have midified it for maybe storage space reasons... but i really don know... now my call list breakdown is: Dialled 33, received 36 and missed 24... equaling 93.

  • Hello, I was the one who asked about the Razr Maxx working with Cingular's Network. If the 3G doesn't work because it only works with 2100, then is the EDGE fast enough or is this phone not worth it then. Can you still use the 3G services like streaming video, just at slower speeds with EDGE, or not. Can you text message and everything else? Video call? Is the internet browser like a normal internet on a computer? Thanks in advance, Nick

  • hello all, The Real name of this phone is the MOTORAZR maxx V6. Im using this phone on cingular and i love it:) This phone will not work on cingulars 3g due to the fact that cingular uses umts1900 mhz and the maxx uses 2100umts mhz so edge will have to do :) The bluetooth 2.0 is AWESOME, i can transfer information from my pc at 70 kb/sec. It also has a pretty nice camera on it and the flash doesnt suck like its predecessors does. i also love the touch sensitive controls n the glassed front. you can find out more info about this phone and other motorolas at www.modmymoto.com

  • Does anyone use this phone with Cingualr's network? If so, can anyone tell me if the phone will work with Cingular and if you can access all of Cingular's 3G features? Thanks in advance.

  • To: // this phones real name is: Moto Razr Maxx V6

  • V6 maxx, because it has a nvidia processor 4800 so the images produced will be better, better for movie and picture viewing. It is also slimmer than V3x i think

  • Hello to the fellow users who have this phones. Is the edge workin fine wit t-mobile service? I got this phone today and i cant seem to figure out how to get my EDGE internet setup. could someone please help me out thanx alot..

  • This is to Gangsta Moto. Where did you buy your phone at? What country are you in? I saw the phones here in Taiwan, Thailand and in Hong-Kong and they only managed to recall 10 numbers per category. They did not have this particular phone in Thailand but had it in Hong-Kong and Taiwan. How is the call quality on your phone as well? Does the sound come in loud and clear or does the sound seem low in volume? Thanks...

  • this phone's real name is V6 not maxx. It's in the proximus stores for 439 EUR

  • Mate... can't even be bothered to argue. I've got the phone and I know whats infront of me... had the v3x and I know what it could hold. Instead of gettingall this mis-info from the web why dont u just find someone with the handset and have a look urself. Right now I have 30 Dialled; 36 received and 24 missed... all equals 90.

  • Most google searches only show a call record of 10 numbers as well...

  • If yu look at the specs on the gsmarena website it will also tell you that it only remembers 10 numbers. Are the people here reporting more then 10 in Asia or Europe? I have heard that the ones in America have a higher capacity then 10 numbers. I went to the local phone shop and tested a few recent models of Motorola phones and they only recall 10 numbers each.

  • Well... My V3i has 60 missed/dialed calls ;)... Do a lil moto hacking

  • Pic on mine:

  • I am thinking about buying this phone. Can anyone tell me if this phone is any good? Is it worth and would it last long at all.

  • Correction... I meant 29 Dialled; 33 Received; 26 Missed all equals 88.

  • @ stylinexpat... Calm down mate... you being uninformed does not mean you should begin to get irate on the forum. My v3x held 60 Received, 60 Dialled and 60 Missed. My Razr Maxx currently has 88 altogether... Dialled = 29; Received = 33; Missed = 28 And thats not even the maximum it can hold i'm sure cos only been using since last Saturday. I think you should have done some research b4 you just came on here all bitter and stuff about nothing... seems to me it's your Nokia that let you down cos can only hold 60. What u gonna say now?

  • All these new high end phones coming out by Motorola and yet the stupid thing can oly remember 10 missed and 10 received calls?? How much memory could it psiibly use to remember 20 or 30 calls per log section? What is with Motorola these days. A portable phone is usually used by people travelling or out on the run so most likely people are usually either dialling or receiving lots of calls. Would be nice of they get their acts together and raise the number from 10 per section to 30 or 40 numbers for each section of the dialled, missed and received calls rather then the current 10. My Nokia offers a total of 60 with 20 per section for Missed, dialled and received calls, that's double what Motorala offers their customers!

  • Got mine today, wow!

  • @ Dan @ fonetech.albaweb.net Your wrong mate... despite copying and pasting what i wrote you still got it wrong. It's not from 900/1800 to 2.5G.... 900/1800 IS 2.5G. What needs to be changed in the BAND is From Automatic or WCDMA 2100 to 900/1800. Automatic will first search for WCDMA 2100 which is your 3G frequency...if unavailable will then defalut to 2.5G which is 900/1800. Don't get it twisted.

  • not yet released in phillipines i think. Asian country, only HK had the phone, its gradually shipping to other parts of Asia, i think around mid to late jan and u will get the phone

  • SETTINGS NETWORK NETWORK SETUP... Change BAND from 900/1800 to 2.5G regards Dan @ fonetech.albaweb.net

  • @ Sportback... Go into your SETTINGS menu - scroll down to NETWORK (the icon that looks like an antenna)... go into NETWORK SETUP... Change BAND to 900/1800 for 2.5G That is how you do it... meanwhile... don't you have a manual? so easy to do mate... u should know already that your network settings are obviously found in NETWORK. enjoy...

  • Hello.I need help for this phone!! I cant turn off the 3G. Can somebody help me with this???

  • The software is nearly the same as v3xx. The originally v3 was good but slow, this aint. It got the 3 fastest benchmark in the non os phones.

  • How is this phone's software? Did they upgrade it or is it still as crappy as the V3's? Thanks y'all.

  • Hello to the fellow users who have this phones. Is the edge workin fine wit t-mobile service? Please let me kno asap cuz i'm plannin on gettin this shone on friday... Thanx 4 any info. Good day.:)

  • Its a good overall phone which improves V3-series' weak spots - it has better battery, software and so on... and still ... if you have money to spend on phone i'd advice you to look nokia's N-series...

  • motorola rox!

  • Sorry about that guys.... I meant as thin as the Maxx....

  • Wow....what a cool phone!!!! This is certainly one of the masterpieces that Motorola made. 3G, EDGE, HSDPA, Video Card, Bluetooth, Music Keys, and Memory Card Slot all in one thin form factor. I'm sure it will be a hit in many countries. I think Motorola challenges other cellphone manufacturers to create such stylish, feature-wise and thin phones that Moto is known for. I would surely dare Nokia or Sony Ericsson to make a thinner phone of better specs and style......hehehe..... Try making an NSeries that is as thin as the width of the Maxx!!!!!!

  • ya, when's it gonna be out in singapore, i soo can't wait for it!

  • No

  • Does it have radio?????? Thanx in advance

  • I don't know if it has 2,5mm or 3,5 mm jack. If it has 3,5 no problem. If it has 2,5 you need a little converter bit it still works. And you can listen via bluetooth too. I will have this baby on friday, can't wait!

  • Do u need bluetooth headphones to listen music or can u use normal headphones?

  • @phone Razr MAxx HSDPA nice design, KEWL features and nice to feel, with a rubberized back and glass panel in front. WOOT

  • @ Aussie... Yes it does take animated screen savers, GIF's or whatever else they call 'em. In fact my screen saver is an animation of some rasta guy smokin a juicy fat joint.... works fine wit him puffin, blowing the smoke and all. Had it on my v3x so just transferred it b4 giving the v3x to one of my mates for 20. Best part is i got the phone free as an upgrade... everybody likes freebies. I noticed from some screenshots on another Moto forum... in the folder called MORE... mine has 4 extra functions including Voice messaging, World clock, Infusio(java stuff) and 1 more but cant remember. As it is now... don't think i'm gonna be modding my phone at all cos wen i did last time i lost he feature to preview videos b4 saving or discarding.. dont wanna lose that again.

  • @gangsta moto Thanx dude, now i can only wait, haha. Hows the given earphone? isit gd enuff? or should i buy a adaptor for 3.5mm jack?

  • @Moto 2 little... Don't even worry about it mate... camera and video are just as good as the v3x. Media player is the one found in Media... not the java one. Works superbly... no lag and volume on phone is just right too... no distortion and not too loud... not low at all either. Trust me mate... the phone will not dissapoint u.

  • Does this phone take animated screensavers?

  • yo gangsta moto. Dude, hows the mp3 software of this phone? is it the JAva one or a non java application? Hows sound quality? Any lag in the music quality. Camera comparable to V3x? I love this phone, waiting it here in Singapore.

  • To DownUnder Please get an alarm clock instead.

  • just got mine today, UK vodafone version, usual vodafone layout this phone is absolutly amazing, the outlook, features etc...

  • Just got mine yesterday from an Orange retail shop in Cardiff, UK... Motorola have fixed and improved everything from the annoying sound when u change ur ring style using the external side keys... to being able to lock the external keys with just the press of the smart key... the music touch sensitive keys work seamlessly... This time Orange have not messed with the software too much and everything just works perfectly and their homescreen shortcut bar is well handy... the feel of the phone is just so classy... very solid feel... no plasticky bullshhhh. Camera and video are brill... playback and capture is just right. The phone is just so responsive... no lag... cant comment on battery as only been using since 6 pm yesterday after first charge and i have 2 bars left... no bad. As normal Motorola always release a higher capacity battery so that will still come along no doubt. Software is basically the same with the v3x... all original Motorola functions are present... nothing removed and they all work. The phone is just too lovely... u just gotta luv that! I must say... way b4 the phone came out a lot of people came on this site and dissed the hell out of this phone... WHERE THE HELL ARE U GUYS NOW??? If u all had the guts i challenge u to get this phone for a week... use it properly without any bias... and i promise u u'd never return it... and if u do... then somebody must have held a gun to ur head. I put that on her mama.

  • Hey, I've got three questions about the Maxx: 1. Is the mp3-player multitasking-capable? In the Voda-version yes, but also without branding? 2. Can I send a picture or song per bluetooth and then close the phone without interrupting it? 3. What's the highest size in video-capture? Can it record up to CIF or at least QVGA? thx for responding

  • Gotta give it up to the Razr Maxx... this phone is bangin!!! Everything is just too tight.

  • Made by the camera on the phone?

  • millions of pics... try bengalboy.com, motox.info, howardforums.

  • Any photos?

  • well how about the features of the two phones? which one's features are better? (ps. drjim thx for ur answer)

  • The samsung is a nice phone, nothing wrong with it at all really. Decision for you is whether you want 3g and like the overall package. Personally, I find the samsung very plasticky and a bit toy-like. The razr maxx feels like a chunk of nicely sculpted metal with a rubberised finish. Men tend to like the maxx more than women. You may like the samsung more if you're a lady, it is a bit smaller in the hand.

  • This phone runs UMTS at 850Mhz, 2100Mhz and also 1900Mhz (a US freq only I think).

  • I can assure you that the V6 maxx runs class 6 HSDPA over UMTS at the 850Mhz frequency. This is the network we have in Australia that this phone is available on.

  • I think motorola is really good and the HSDPA functionality of this phone is outstanding, one user said that the motorola handsets have the most comebacks, well i also work at a phone shop and found that Nokia Handsets have the most comebacks in particular the Nokia N70...now theres a crap phone, especially when the public raved about this phone only to be dissapointed.

  • I really want to purchase this phone and I have a couple of questions to current owners: How is the HSDPA coverage where you are if you are in the US? I heard that it only uses the 3G 2100 band which is the only one not available in our wonderful country. How is the camera/video camera? I am not expecting miracles or anything but as long as it's nice enough for clear picture messaging/nice short stints of viewable video then it's fine. Can you see videos/pictures in landscape mode? I heard somewhere you can and I plan to put some videos on my microSD card. Thanks in advance!!! =oD

  • Someone who can take pics? Please!

  • I sold my V3x already after 3 weeks of using it. I love the V3x but I just want the HSDPA feature of this phone. I'm just waiting for the arrival of this unit here in the Phils. Can't wait to have this phone.

  • Can someone please take some photos with maxx camera? In different conditions like inside, outside etc. I'm in a hurry, going to order the phone tomorrow. But if the camera sucs I wont. Please hurry!

  • downunder My old moto v620 has that so i'm verysupersure but I can't promise:)

  • G'Day Does this phone have an alarm? Cheers

  • moto is the best ever and forever. nokia and so r crap with ugly designs

  • The u830 still are missing some features that I want for a phone so that can't be compared. Motos are reliable especially v3 series. The only problem they have is their battery. You maybe didn't count the massive v3 out there compared to other phones. Many phones = more repairs that a mobilephone in a little scale. Well, publicity is one thing to sell stuff, but moto is giving what people want, slim nice looking phones and thats why people buy them. And yeah, the original v3 is stoneage.

  • OK, i have both the motorola v1050 and i just got the razr maxx recently. 1st, the motorola v1050's camera is CRAP. it can take pictures in the night, but it will be very dark and hard to see, even when the camera is in night mode. the v1050's light is useless too. with the razr maxx's camera, even though its 2mp, the picture quality is comparable to a phone like the samsung d900 and it also takes pictures clear and crisp, no matter how bright or dark it is. the razr maxx's flash is quite good for a phone.if you look at the razr maxx's flash closely, you can see that there are two lights integrated on it. the right light lights up when you turn the flash on. the left one acts as a camera flash, turning on only when the camera takes a photo. the razr maxx's mp3 is also better than the v1050's. with the razr maxx, you can sort your songs into playlists, artists, albums, genres and composers, like sony erricson's walkman phones. with the v1050, you can only sort your songs into playlists. also, the razr maxx has an option where you can turn the bass boost and/or the spatial audio on or off. you can also store more songs with the razr maxx. it has 50 megs of built in memory, the v1050 only has 16. the razr maxx also has the EDGE technology, HSDPA, WLAN, GPRS and all those other stuff that i havent mentioned, and all the v1050 has is GPRS. in conclusion, the razr maxx smashes the v1050.

  • slimmest phone??? have u seen the lg u830??? the only reason motorola sold a lot of them coz it had a big publicity on tv and movies... i work in a phone shop and motorolas have biggest come backs for repairs... theyre so unreliable... they look good but its really getting old.... not bcoz they sold a lot means that theyre good they just have good advertising..

  • After a few days use I have grown to like this phone more and more. It will be a long, long time before I even think about upgrading and it would have to be something highly revolutionary in the market to make me think about that. Some people may not like the fact that it has a 2mp camera. As I have said before, I see a phone as a means of communicating not for boasting about the number of pixels. Those who choose a phone like this are likely to have a pretty decent spec camera anyway. I looked at a lot of phones before getting this. I waited a long time to get this and am very glad I did. This phone has amazing features in a beautiful and robust package. It is pleasing to switch it on in the morning and put it in my jacket pocket. Motorola excel at giving their products that feel good factor missing from other phones. If you have not used a motorola before then the menu system may seem a little tricky but it does not take long to get used to it. I happen to like the way they work, its a personal taste thing. Once you have got used to using one, all the functions can be accessed very quickly indeed. Much faster than a nokia despite their intuitive menu. The pre loaded screen savers and wallpapers are very classy so you can personalise this phone with images that match its upmarket looks. Many people have already asked me what kind of phone it is and where I got it. You're not likely to get that kind of reaction with many other phones. Oh, by the way, as regards the glass on the outside - not one scratch yet. Plenty of finger prints though.

  • In Australia? The phone's available and easily acquired on Telstra. Has been for a couple of months.

  • Primarily I need a practical phone that I can carry with me all day, one tha fits in my pocket, fast responseand ease of use. I already have a digital camera so I never thought of my mobile as a digicam. 2MP are more than enough for everyday use. I also got the Nokia N80, SE P990i, SE K800i and the list goes on. Extraordinary specificatios but completely unpractical. Especially n80's software is SO SLOW that it really gets on your nerves. Not to mention its brick size...as for the design part, the v3 is still considered as the most succesful design in mobile history, with many followers and awards. It all then depends on your needs and taste...nothing more than that

  • if you really look at the ppone you wont se much that looks lika a ordinary v3. razr is motorolas thing for superthin and I don't think you can find any thinner 3gphone om the market that doesn't say motorola on it. As a fact, v3x and v3xx + maxx is the thinnest 3g on the market today. They all have different segments for costumers. Look at N and SO, they upgrade their hpones to, put an I after or have the same style. z710 and w710, it's the same thing there. The v3 isa huge sucell for moto, you maybe haven't seen the numbers but they sold a lot, a lot of them! Software, they complain because it's nearly all the same on the phones. I like moto, I like motos menysystem, it's a matter of taste. Quality, better than the plastic SE and or the ygly nokia. See for yourself.

  • motorola make new phones... u just make bad phones then upgrade them wen u can just make a good phone to start with.... people who loves motorola cmon ppl we all know that theyre all crap phones software is bad all the good thing bout it is the looks... but the looks is old now.... so motorola make new phones...

  • There is no fair photos out there or do you have the maxx maybe? Can you show a link at some serious photos?

  • horrible camera.. any nseries have better camera than this.

  • Just one Question: Can it open picts bigger than 1.92 megapixels ? (1600pix X 1200pix = 1920000pix = 1.92 mpix)

  • the maxx looks smaller than pictures would have you believe.

  • Super! Keep taking pics with the maxx! It's interesting to see the quality. Take various pics of landscape, cars etc so we can see the balance in colours, noise, blur etc. Good job!

  • I uploaded some more pics of maxx, one extra of the mobile (side view) and three pics taken from maxx's camera. check them out

  • Wow, it looks so good! Thanks mate! Keep posting pics, and maybe one from the mobile itself?

  • here's the url...just uploaded 4 pics...more to come soon!

  • Don't tease me;) That looks so cool, saw that on a video yesterday, look really amazing! Almost like neontubes.

  • btw I forgot to say that the blue lines and the moto logo on the front light up as soon as you receive a call....abd you can choose among 3 different patterns :-)

  • Yes, I can't think of any phone that has the slim design, beauty and the techs. For example it ain't many phones who have HSDPA at the moment. I just love the way moto makes their phones! I'll gladly wait for the pics!

  • that's true mate. that's why although I got v3xx, when I saw this baby I couldn't resist! Just got some pics of the phone. In a few mins I will give you the url to check them out

  • legiongr: Yes, that's true. But we can't forget the slim design and all tech. Maxx is the slimmest 3g phone on the market today!

  • well, compared with other phones on the market, its battery life is average indeed. I also got V3xx along with maxx and v3xx is definitely better as far as battery life is concerned

  • legiongr: Great! I think I'll order it before new year, hopfully. I think that's good, my moto lasts 3 days without calling or playing, hehe.

  • ok I'll take some pics and will post them in a couple of days max. video conferencing: haven't tried it yet. I'll let you know as soon as I do battery life: average. with a talk time of approx. 2 hours a day, 1 hour of games and surfing the battery lasted for a bit less than 48 hours

  • legiongr: Oh, I forgot! The videotalking/conferans, hows that? Batterylife?

  • legiongr: Nice, think ill order it a little sooner then i though:) Can you take some pictures and put them on the web? It ain't many pictures out there.

  • camera: much better than previous models of the v series built: solid, at least better then v3x menu system: fast response time, smooth and much different than the previous v series, better design, more apps included design: slimmer than v3x but a bit thicker than v3i or v3xx I think. touch sensitive buttons on cover are very practical and work perfectly. the highlight is the mirror-like feeeling of the front cover with the glass material used

  • legiongr: Hows the camera? hows the menysystem? Does it move smooth? The design, any problem? Build Quality?

  • I got this phone 3 days ago in Greece from TIM stores. The phone comes with its original menu and all black! it's a beauty. The feeling of the back part and the battery cover is superb. The front is made of first class glass material and indeed it doesn't get easily scratched. It cost me 413 euros. Should you require more info, feel free to ask

  • Haha you are a lucky guy! When i get my phone i will make a little review here too.

  • well for instance you can take pictures in the night because with the v1050 i certainly could not! I got it first because i found about the maxx in the net and went to several vodafone stores and eventually found it before being on display next week!!!

  • Thanks again! The v1050 is a bit older with 1,3 mp cam. How big is the difference? Maxx should take this game easy. Moto sais that the glass front is some specialspecial, so scratches wont come easy. Cool to get it before everyone else, i'm jealous, want this phone now!

  • Also, another con which i personally dont really care that much is that in order to record a video you'll have to go to the camera and then from the menu change it to video mode....something which could of been seperate for camera and seperate for video like in the v1050. But to be honest don't know if the vodafone menu has changed it like that....

  • i unfortunatly got it 2 tone because i had a discount from vodafone (being over a year customer with the same phone number) i'd prefered it black. Its nothing compared to the v1050 i had (better camera and quiker response in seeing all my photos in the mobile file) The only bad thing is what i mention some posts before, but havent seen it doing it again. And another con is that besides having it with the vodafone menu, it looks very fragile with the exterior glass on top, besides all that i love the design and the lights that come on when received a call and thats why i bought it (i was the first to receive it since next week i will be ready for display for people to to see and buy in the shops)... p.s. the phone speaker for mp3's etc is very loud and nothing compared to my previous motorola...

  • Thanks aussie! I hope I get mine totalt black, it looks little better. Stupid voda, why are they doing so? What do you think overall, do you like the phone?

  • check this link to see how the vodafone 2 tone v6 maxx looks like

  • Aussie: Can you post a picture of the phone so we can see the difference between the "original" and vodafones?

  • Got the phone yesterday from vodafone but it wasn't the plain grey color i liked, vodafone gives it in a 2 coloror tone (silver-dark blue) Yesterday when opening the phone and putting the camera on the images showing on the screen where i wanted to take a shot had some wierd lines (blueish red but then stopped)If something like this pops aup again i'll have to take it back for a replacement.. I cost me 420 euros in greece.

  • drjim, Hi, is he audio quality better or same compare to the V3x. Thinkng of replacing my V3x to this. Nice pnone design compare to V3x

  • We got the maxx last week (sweden) Cost around 560$ and 3900 in swedish kroners. Gonna order it next week!

  • last i heard it was out in Dubai like two weeks ago, before Hong Kong even. Cost probably should hustle between $400-$600 USD, so Idk how to convert to Dubai's currency.

  • Just seen it in the flesh....nice better quality than the V3x

  • BTW. Again this may be old hat to some of you but you can open the camera and other functions with just your voice. You don't have to assign a voice tag to each contact. You hold the call key for a second, literally tell the phone what to do, like "dial number" then say the name. You can also read out a phone number and the phone will dial it. There is a cool recorded voice which talks you thru this will you're doing it.

  • Nearly forgot. Picture quality is as good as you would expect for a 2mp camera. This may be a common feature but I have not experienced it before, you can close the phone with the camera running and the external screen becomes a view finder for self portraits. I liked this

  • The phone has the small square Orange logo on the back. The menu system is very fast with no delays at all. A nice touch is being able to operate the music player while the phone is closed. You don't need to set it going while open. You just pick it up, use the smart key and the volume keys to scroll through your tunes. The touch sensitive keys allow you to play, pause and skip forward and back. The external screen is very clear and shows track information and also your choice of wallpaper. I don't know if I am in a hsdpa area at the moment so will have to get back to you about that. I can tell you that going online is very fast, comparable to my 1mb per second broadband connection. I showed the phone to some friends today, many nods of approval from even the most die hard gear freaks.

  • Doc Pain, i found three bids on eBay for you at a reasonable price. wouldn't recommend it if you need gsm 850 however, yankee.

  • --drjim, how's the menu system speed compared to older motorolas? is it blazing fast and powerful? any lag when doing things from going through the phonebook to playing games and accessing the internet? --has the interface itself seen improvement? --how is it browsing the web if you have HSDPA coverage?

  • oh, forgot to ask. is there any Orange logo on the phone itself?

  • drjim how's the photo quality taken by this phone? i m hoping to get mine after x'mas. cheers

  • Received this phone Friday afternoon after ordering online with Orange the day before. Impressive at this time of year. This phone is fantastic. It looks far better than in the photos. It is a matt black colour with glass on the outside of the flip. Looks sort of 'stealthy' From Orange the phone is supplied with motorola handsfee stereo headphones, a small cleaning cloth, a usb cable, charging cable, motorola phone tools software disc and last but by no means least, a 512mb micro sd card. Thats pretty impressive. The manual is surprisingly short but easy to understand. The phone works like a dream. There are a hell of a lot of features but spare an hour or so playing with this phone and you'll be fully competent with it. I thought that video calling would not work as easily as is made out. I can tell you that making a video call involves pressing a button, selecting the number and confirming. I was talking to my friend face to face with great picture quality and sound. Its really easy. The mp3 player function is so much better than on any other phone I have used. The external touch/heat sensitive controls really add a classy touch. The blue lines you can see on the photo above are lights which pulse or flicker when you get a call. You cannot see them or the other controls until they light up. Someone looking over your shoulder may just think 'oh, a matt black razr' when they see it do its thing it will become an object of envy. There is about 1mm difference in the size of this compared to a standard razr. To have so much tech and features crammed into it is pretty amazing. I am very, very pleased. Any queries, am glad to help.

  • how many text messages can it store?

  • cool, let me go out to Orange shop tmr to c the actual phone, mite get it tmr

  • does it take good pictures in the night and with my flash on? cause my old motorola couldn't take a thing compared to other cell phones.

  • This phone is now available from Orange in the UK. I have just ordered one online on a contract so the phone is free. Just spoke to them on the phone to make sure they actually have them and they have over 3000 in stock. Am expecting mine for delivery tomorrow. Will give you some info when I have had a fiddle with it. Am glad I waited. If you have a broadband account you can get your broadband and this phone free if you sign up to an 18 month contract. You will also get a wireless router and voip. To me that is a bargain.

  • people come to america and see everybody with the same phone..a razr

  • I heard that Motorola flip phones get very lose when you open them a lot.. is this true?

  • What does v6 mean?

  • !!! $800 !!! so from your reply earlier i can assume that this 'V3maxx' is in fact a 'V6'? poof, the price will make me have no pocket.

  • hi, in response to the question about the flash... yes it is led... and it is quite good :)

  • Vodafone are are currently selling this device for 280 when purchaced with 20 top up....and they have stock!!! very good handset well worth it

  • can u use normal headphones with this phone?

  • Is there something special about this phone rather than the design to sell it for $800

  • anyone who have seen this could you please tell me if the flash is the led-one? it looks like a strobe flash rather than the latter one...

  • No i doubt its out in Syria it just came out in Dubai .. Syria will get it 3 months later :P haha

  • Had a look at the dummy phone in vodafone store near where I live. Seems almost same size as standard razr. The black rubberised finish is very nice indeed.

  • The Singapore market will most likely to see V6 early next year. As the trial of HSDPA is still going on, with the introduction od the SAMSUNG model. IMO, size=build quality. I noticed that V6 is slimmer that the current V3x. Hence, i have doubt on the build quality. I do also noticed that, the wasn't any macro slider at the camera control section. So i'm comfortable with my V3x for the time being. V6 will not going to replace my V3x. Most possibly till the price goes down, this shall replace my other line. The dummy for V6maxx is currently on display @ the MOTOROLA service center. Interested fellas my go take a look.

  • I wish i can buy at christmas. it says its out but it isnt out in Syria. Anyone know if it is out in Syria.

  • It is a very efficient mobile. It has a very nice design and many good features. Although it should have been released earlier.

  • yes, theres difference in the UI between V3x and Razr MAxx. If u want to see the UI, go to youtube, type razr maxx and u will see them navigating thru the UI

  • Someones knows anything about this site www.elitecellphones.net/index.php, can u trust them? They sell rarz maxx for only 300

  • Is there different between the UI of RAZR Maxx and V3xx?

  • How can this phone cost 900 dollars? I would buy it if the price would be lower..

  • @Richard Buchanan : who cares how many designs has SE changed so far? ALL SE designs are just ugly, with no inspiration! plus the fact that all SE phones, NOKIA being the leader of course, are way bigger than the RAZR family. At least they are the perfect definition of the word "mobile" and not "brick"!

  • Very true. Motorola phones like the the razr fit into your life really well. They look great, perform well and can be carried discretely in a suit pocket without weighing you down or creating a bulge (no sniggering at the back please). I have needed a mobile for work for about 13 years and have used many different brands and always come back to Motorola. They also have something missing from most other phones and thats charm and character. Razr users will have had their handsets for years and feel no real need to change as the phone is as pleasing as when they first bought it. Now I only wish I could buy one of these here in the UK. I don't think these will hit the shops before Christmas here.

  • Well! i heard about this cell phone is call by tow name ARZR maxx and V3 maxx! Is it true ca i call it by the tow name or not? pls answer me in my E-mail [email protected]

  • Hay i need help! is this cell phone ARZR maxx or V3 maxx! Can i call it by the tow name? Or its tow cell phone different? pls send the answer for my E-Mail [email protected]

  • Well, I have read a lot of posturing. Motorola has a reputation for producing quality phones as to many of the other OEMs such as SE, Nokia, Samsung etal. The real redeeming feature and primary selling point fot the Maxx and the V3xx is the HSDPA. If you are a traveller and not a gamer or forking over a lot of money to have the latest gadget you will realize that 3G and 3.5G are necessary if you wish to use your phone in Japan without having to rent one. If you are not a traveller 3G, and 3.5G are a waste of your time and money. The only other benefit is the ability to use the mostly non existent High Speed networks for video conferencing. People have lost touch with what a mobile phone is for and that is to communicate verbally with another person. Mobile phones have become the latest status symbol with all of the new frills, video players, audio players, etal... Save the money and spend it on your families.

  • Too many fan boys on all sides, who really cares anyway? The moto phones look great no question, i'd have one myself if bat life was longer thats reason i got a sony, long bat life. People go for what they like or need in a phone and no ones taste is exactly the same. As long as a phone does the basics i'm happy, if i wanted a good photo i'd use a real camera, more than 4gb memory id use a pc or delete something easy as that. Most phones have good and bad points so get over it

  • this is no doubt one of the best phones ever produced by Motorola, the phone is really good, y'all out there should try having this phone. everyone looks at you. the razr series is a Big phone.

  • Poor dude below me... Australia to London no one has had to return the Razr Maxx or has had any of the issues u mentioned... are u like Mr Unlucky?...lying?... or u got the dummy phones? hahahaha Sorry dude... but we don't believe you..u need more people.

  • i have had now 2 v6 maxx with in 2 weeks of each other not 2 happy with the way thay parfrom both have seen one week runing and shut down my old v360 still runs hard sorry guys but thay will have to do better

  • Calm down Pioneer lol.. I want this phone.. Nokia/SE fanboys - Why would you spend money on a fat ugly phone? Ex: Sony Ericsson K800... Nokia N-series

  • motorola juicing the RAZR? while you're searching for ZR as you say, type in the following above: W8, W9, K7, Z5, and Z6. Sony Ericsson has recycled WAYYYY more designs off their walkman candybar than motorola has of RAZR. your argument is pathetic and hypocritcal.

  • what has motorola brought to the market? you bring up SE and bluetooth? how about THE CELL PHONE ITSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! jesus get a clue people!

  • motorola is clearly jucing the razr type in zr in the quick search and see how many phones you get what has motorola brought to the market? i see all these people with razrs different colors and designs n theyre all the same to me..comeon dont forget. sony erricson brought bluetooth to phones

  • oh jeez, here's another tired complaint from the nokia fanboys. "no fm radio." why the hell do i need an fm radio when i can use my microsd card for mp3s? the radio sucks!! that's why phone makers started putting mp3 players on phones in the first place!
