I had this mobile for 2 years, it's really great! But I had to buy the new one (Samsung P730), as this Morotola did not work properly: when I opened it, the LDC switched on only after a long time. But in general it was really gret! Sad to say good buy to it:(

I own this one and i dislike it because it's useless in text messaging-it save only about 20 last messages (becouse the damn thing saves them on SIM card only!),and it's easy to accidentally quit message during writing and then you have to write it again from the scratch.There's no way of checking how many msgs you send or about the costs.Bulild-in memory is just not enough and the organiser lacks some functions (like notes,timer). However baterry life is very long up to 5 days),photos somethimes could be suprisingly good (as for VGA),and I like bluetooth and voice dialing. Oh and I lost the external antenna but it turned out to be no harm.

Worst phone ever. Have to put on loudspeaker to hear anybody.. battery dies after about 6 hours.. camera really bad. turns itself off and if u take the battery out whilst phone it on it turns itself on. I could go on and on but I'll save u the time!

I hate it. But a lot of my friends have had no problems with it. My screen only works when it feels like it. It shuts off when its too cold outside. If i open it too quickly when answering it will drop the call.

Not the greatest phone in the world, for the dollars spent. The manual is useless:- no info how to tfr photos to computer. No info how to tfr ringtomes from computer to phone. on and on... Battery lasts for 5-6 hours if you're lucky !! All this with the data cable and driver and XP. This phone = Just a frustrating piece of cr$p Best....

To exchange files from your computer to V547 via Bluetooth dongle you must install drivers+software given by your dongle producer. For example, I have a IOgear USB Bluetooth adapter and I found on their site.

hey dude, don;t blame the phone for you not being able to adapt to this kind of menu. Go buy some c**p, expensive nokia. The phone is great, has some "problems" but nuthing essential, especially at this kind of price.End of transmission To change the ringtone for Messages do the following sequence: Menu->Settings->RingStyles->LoudDetail press Change and then it's easy. You can even use a song as a ringtone for messages.

This is without a doubt the worst phone I have ever owned. External buttons can't be locked so ring mode changes to silent without warning, charging takes forever, the Bluetooth set was so useless I slung it in a cupbard and forgot about it, it regularly goes quiet so I can only listen to calls via speaker, it sometimes stops charging after a few seconds - really handy when you've left it on overnight and not noticed what's gone wrong - the case is easily damaged, sending texts is far too awkward. Need I go on? How I long for the day when I can change this useless pice of crud.

hi there. about Bluetooth. My mates can all browse my files on their bluetooth but i can only connect to them to send or recieve something. I cant just view their files. they can do it to each other though. is it just the fact the phone doesnt support the idea of browsing? or am i missing something. Help would be greatly excepted. To send ANYTHING(mp3,video,picture) via Bluetooth, select the item, use the menu key and select Move if you want to send the item(it will be removed from your fone, same as CUT on your PC) or Copy if you want to keep a copy of the item. I bought a USB Bluetooth adapter(dongle) and it's working perfectly, EVERYTHING you can wish for: file transfer, AUDIO HEADSET(hear the fone in pc spekers), synchro, Bluetooh Networking.

ive had my fone 4 a year now n its still workin fine. i used to use it more than i do now and it used to always go dead and when u put da charger in and tried to turn it on it wud go ont= then turn itself off bout 5 times but now that i dont use it that often onli 2 text really its workin fine!! its got great features just not da most reliable fone in da world! my mates fink ma ringtones r reali clear compared to theirs i fink dats da best fing in da fone...its kinda ugly but hey. im gettin a samsung d600 now tho lol

Ive had this phone for a year and no trouble i got mine with the link but the bluetooth is techinical. you ahve to go on settings>connection>bluetooth> then hands free and power up your blue totth next look for devices or if you want to be found go back a step andgo on setup and click find me and then anyone within a mile searching bluetooth can fidn you but this only lasts for one minute. GREAT MEMORY ON THIS PHONE.

i do not like this phone but ma friend has it and she loves it. it looks really horrible its huge and bulky. The features inside are good but not as good as more modern phones. I have had no technical difficulties but over the year ive had it a found i got bored of it really quickly and been looking for a new one. The price they are selling them for is resonable. but if u want something better its worth paying the extra money!

Hi ive owned a V547 for about 2 weeks now and the only thing that lets it down is the memory which is only about 5 to 6 megabite so wont store too much but still enough. I would advise anyone to buy a Bluetooth Dongle (�10 online try google, �25 carphone warehouse) then you can use your PC with the phone a lot . I have downloaded about 20 great games so far on to my PC then sent them to my phone for free (try looking for .JAR games on google) I also use a 3GP file converter to convert mpeg videos on my PC to the 3GP Video files the Phone uses. I make my own shorter MP3 ringtones using a program called MP3 Trackmaker along with Winamp. Hope some of this helps.

I got this phone as a gift in August 2005. I love it and it works perfectly. My only hang-up would be its battery-life (it lasts 2-3 depending on how often i use it), but othewise it's lovely.

Concerning the comments about poor battery life - the battery on mine seemed to die very quickly until I got a cheap replacement charger (not motorola). now it seems to work for longer. Maybe it is the chargers that are at fault.

nice wee phone but i experinced some serious software problems - bluetooth 'froze' and drained battery - even master reset did nothing! battery life reduced to 6 hours! even less if talking\playing games. easy to use but im not sure if my problem was a one off but was certianly not due to misuse cos i treated my fone well. all in all is a gd fone but there are better out there!

Okay,I agree this phone is not good.When I bought it I charged it the full 13hours and it seemed so great since i was dying for a motorola so long.The next day I got up bought some ringtones,after it kept sending me locked things.i tried deleting things but i couldnt cause it was locked.then i found a setting that could unlock sent photos and video recordings,but didnt work.Then when my phone started to ring it was all scratchy for empale u could only hear "Like...Now...Girls"Suppose to be Like You.I was so mad and now i wanted a V600.For a long time i would get calls and they would be answered automically and people would get my answerein machine.i deleted all my ringtones and had to re buy the mp3 song which still didnt work.the phone overall sucked and I really hate this phine.I would not reccomend this pice of crap to nobody!Reppin Brooklyn1

the v547 phone can send and recieve bluetooth to and from another bluetooth devide, i have two of these phones and they send and recieve files fine (they can detect and be found by another bluetooth device), the only problem is you get lots of files audio picturs and videos that are locked and you can not remove them so there using up memory which is very litle to start with, any files you send from the net to the phone are also locked so send files via the computer to your phone with bluetooth and there not locked

hiya sarah the camera quality is great! The videos are ok, can be blurry though. As for recording music or sounds you cant do that, which really annoys me, and you can only recieve things through bluetooth, you cant send! The phone doesnt have much storage space either, i think you can store max 10 videos n thats all! A great phone for all the stuff you seem to be looking for is a Sony Ericsson k700i, its a fantastic phone, and i think it is only about �80 now!

hey ppl, i've had this fone for two months now, its pretty cool...bit chunky though, no radio and can't listen to mp3 music!! grrr...and voice record is rubbish....anyone actually tried to record an actual call yet?...every 10 secs it beeps! and beeps at the beginning...anyone know how to turn this off?! and if want to send pics to my computer, don't i need special software? where do i get this from?

This phone looks quite appealing at first as it has quite a few features, however after a few months i could not hear anyone when they phoned and i had to put it on speaker phone. i sent it away and it came bk that it was un-fixable as it had liquid damage. But a few people who had this phone has had the same thing going wrong. Bottom line is dont get this phone cause it wont last long

i had this phone for about a week now and it is everything i expected. The camera takes clean pictures it zoom in by 4x and it have a speaker that is very loud. It is better than the V600 and the V500 and the V300 and the V303 and the V525 and V535. Even better than the V3 razor. Peace out bless

to send an image via bluetooth go to the file ( the picture) go onto the options click move to send it to someone else and lose it on your phone. or press copy to keep it on ur phone but still send it. then click look for new devices click on the device you want and it will send.

hiya katee i've only jst got the phone about 3 weeks ago.it's a good phone, it takes really good pictures and the charge lasts for quite a while. however, the video's are abit blurry,you can't record any sounds,the size of the memory is pretty rubbish,and you can't send anything over bluetooth, you can only recieve them! overall, i think the phone is quite a good phone but does come with some dissadvantages :( xXx

Can anyone please tell me how to set up email from this phone. I bought it three days ago, sometimes when I make a call it writes 'call failed' and some people say when they try to call me it goes to voice-mail. If you want to delete a pic, go to pictures and go to whatever pic u want to delete then press the very top middle button with the lines on it then scroll down to delete and it will say that it is deleted!

I hate this phone! It continually turns itself off and it only holds a very small amount of text messages, about 50 which includes the outbox! The camera is good but the photo turns to crap when you try to send it by text. I have not one good word to say about this phone. DONT BUY IT

reply to fay- yeah it does have video recording. go on the menu and go to 'multimedia'(bottom left corner).click that and then go across to videos(bottom right).then go down to new video.

basically this isnt a comment, i have a question to ask about my v547, i bought a data cable for my phone but it isnt working, it worked with my cousin's v600 but not with mine, when i took it back to the store, the guy said that my phone probably has a lock on it which is the reason why it doesnt work...and the data cable is an original motorola D.C therefore supposed to work with all the motorola phones...in other words...he isnt going to change my cable for me...is he telling me the truth or is he just trying to make a sale? but aside from the cable, my phone is great and i love it!

Every1 seems 2b asking about bluetooth. I bought the V547 a week ago & already got about 20 vids stored, some by bluetooth. As 4 connecting bluetooth, it depends if ur sending or recieving data. I ur sending, goto your vids list. Press the menu button & scroll down to COPY. Select YES 4 bluetooth power. If u wanna recieve vids, goto SETTINGS > connection > bluetooth > setup > find me. Again, select YES. Note that both phones involved need 2 have bluetooth power on 2 transfer stuff. Good luck!

I have got through 2 of these phones now and I am appauled by the quality.....or lack of! In its defense I do use my phone an awful lot and so its getting a lot of use but this is no excuse really. My first 1 was turning itself off and sending random text messages etc so I got it exchanged (this was after 2 weeks) and the second 1 went wrong after 2 weeks as well, it now will not send text messages at all. Im taking it back to the shop 4 a full refund and then buying a Nokia. My friend has the same mobile but hardly uses it and his is fine, so I think this phone albeit it great value for money, isnt up to an awful lot of use sadly.

Hi Amanada Granted some navigation areas are badly designed/non-user-friendly. The settings being one of them :( I had o2 send me them via email as they don't have the auto-install settings via sms for this phone! It took me a few attempts at doing it but managed - eventually. You only fill in the number one sections and not number 2 sections. The o2 email was easy to follow however but obviously you get different settings for PAYG and contract. The phone is fast and displaying GPRS/WAP pages - I'll give it that :) Kind regards -- encoderX

Had this phone for a week now but I still can't get onto O2 active. I have manually installed the settings to no avail. It isn't my sim card as it works fine in a different phone. It must be a fault with the phone so I am going to take it back tomorrow.

Re: MMS If you have to login to o2 website to get your MMS (picture messages) it means you have to contact o2 to have MMS enabled on your account (PAYG and contract). While on the phone ask o2 to sent the settings to your phone. Save these for the settings to take effect. Kind regards encoderX

Re: Bluetooth. First you have to have a paired device. Your phone and another device (phone. PC...etc) - this can be achived by going to menu > settings > connection > Bluetooth > Setup > find me. The other device eg: PC tell it to search for you > you can now pair them. To find other bluetooth devices via phone. Take a pic and store. Then in multimedia goto (highlight only NOT view) it and press the middle softkey. Click move and it'll ask 'look for devices' (enable your other device to discovery so the phone can see it) and click 'look for devices' and the phone should discover it. it will then try to pair. Default pin is 0000 (four zero's) unless the other device has a user changed PIN. Once discovered it will then pair both devices. Kind regards encoderX

Re: email settings You have to have pop/smtp settings for your email you goto messages > highligh new message and press the middle softkey and goto email msg setup and enter eg: pop: mail.o2.co.uk - SMTP: smtp.o2.co.uk and your o2 email address and password. Had this a few days now. The handbook is rubbish. I have had to fathom most things out for myself. However I can not send MMS despite getting the settings from O2. Also have not got the bluetooth working but this could be due to compatability. Apart from this it is a lovely phone. You can download free ringtones, wallpapers and animations if you look hard enough for them.

hey got the phone and just want to tell those hu are getting it and wondering, the video can record for 1minute or more on low quality but only 30secs on high. ya can only send 12 seconds in an mms but as much as u want to a phone over bluetooth.

hi i liked the looks and features, especially the blue tooth operation, which was a bit of a fiddle to get going, but if you persevere its good. I have a big problem though it keeps saying "No Service". I use 02 for another older phone and that has a signal so why isnt the new phone working. When I go to the message itself and click for the options, there is nothing there which enables you to save the message....?? I know you have that forward option but it doesnt enable u to forwward it to yr drafts or outbox, its only if you want to forward it to someones number. I believe i have found some mis-leeding information regarding the v547. It states the phone is 90g when in real fact it is 114g. Other than that i think it is a great phone and would recomend it to anyone willing to buy it.

had fone a week, still not worked out how to send a foto. people i attempt to speak to claim they cannot hear me? on the whole though a good fone, good photos, great ringtones, good size and weight. suggest you buy a body glove, has a clip for belt and will keep it as good as new - could well imaging if you kept it in your pocket with keys / money it would easily scrath.

This was a replacement for a Sony Z600 and it seemed an improvement, particularly the handsfree capability. However I kept missing calls and finally discovered that the buttons on the side were changing the ring mode to Silent when it was in my pocket. The supplying shop advised that you can't lock the ring mode to stop this happening, and other Motorola's are the same. A shame as it was a great business phone in all other respects.

This is a wicked fone! I'd recommend it to anyone whos planning on buying it! The camera is great but the video aint very good! Apart from that its a grand fone! Its a bit bulky but i believe all moto fones r like this? But u soon get used to it and its partly the reason u get such good fotos!x

Hello Sue! Yes outgoing messages are stored, not entirely sure how many but you get plenty of warning that you are running out of space. And yes you can type messages in whatever way suits you. Great little phone and very user friendly. Hope this helps.

Ok...after much annoyance, I have finally managed to suss out the Bluetooth on my phone.... The instructions given below are somewhat accruate..nut only if you are looking to find a headset, etc. If you want to send a file (as long as it is not locked) then navigate to your file, click your green answer button and a menu should appear...you want to send your file to a device, which it will start to detect...once detected you can send as per instructed... Bear in mind though that if you are trying to send ringtones, etc you need to make sure that they are not locked (i.e. have a red padlock next to them!) other than that, you should have no problems

I haven't actually bought this phone but have been looking at it to buy should i but it? I had the Motorola v525 (the model before this one) and found it really good! I wasn't able to send media messages and i was on o2 i found out that on whatever network you are on you have to ring that networks help line which costs about 5 quid for the call and they will take you through the steps to be able to send the media messages, so my advice is to go in the shop specialised in your network and get them to ring up the help line to sort it out hope this helps some people! oh and if the people in the shop say we've sent a message and you'll receive a txt saying you can send mms, its a load of rubbish and a waste of time it doesn't work!

Just got the v547 must say its a pile of dog poo on my shoe (cos I cant swear)! it freezes and I have to switch it off and on again before it will work. i got this phone a few days ago, just sent out one text to all my friends telling them my new number, and now its playing up. it had trouble sending all the texts at once and now when i try to go into my outbox it will only let me once, then when i try to do it again, it jams till i turn it off, then back on, and then it will let me check my outbox just the once again.... im very confused. seems to be the only problem so if anyone can help me id appreciate it!!!thanks

Heres the Bluetooth instructions: On main menu go to Settings, Connection, select the arrow looking icon, go to set up, select find me, wait for it to fibnish discovering, go back and then to handsfree, look for devices, click on your friends name or model fone, and then it should ask for file to be sent, and hey presto you should have sent a bluetooth file!

Im not sure I like this phone, I cant find any downloadable games, Ringtones sound tinny, and I have manged to work out Bluetooth after playing with it for hours, I cant work out the IM, so cant help with that and dont even know what it does... i am an o2 pay and go user and was given a V547 as an upgrade (gold) i paid the extra 29.99 pounds and got it. So impress am I. The quality of the camera is amazing, the resolution is great. I especially like the menus- they are so easily accessable.... Mind you (that is after you get the hang of them... it did not take me too long.... The bluetooth took me a while to figure out but when i did man was i glad i did. I have exchanged many ringtones and photos this way. I like it that during the bluetooth logon you can see all the mobiles in a room-that is so cool and you can choose which one to connect to that is on..... Try it in a bar or a cafe..it is so cool. On the note of ringtones.. i was a bit dissappointed that it does not play music files. On the note of memory a coment was made about getting rid of those pre-installed files...God i wish i could get rid of them too cause they take up a lot of unnecessary space. on the mention of the icons(angry,sad,laughing,smiling, etc.) I have to be honest i find them to be disgusting and in poor taste...(snot running out of nose....mmmmmmmmmmm what are yous thinking of motorola??? Please ) the least you could do would have chosen nice looking ones... mannnnnn ....i have to mention the skins.... They are really lovely.. my favourite is the metalic... i like the design and layout. Overall?? i will definitely be keeping mine and anyone who is interested i would definitely be saying..."it is a hell of a good buy"... BRAVO.... 9 out of 10 from me (the warrior)

I think my motorola v547 is an excellent fone, i am however miffed because it appears to have no infrared port, one of the main reasons i bought this fone was because i thought it would have and in my o2 sale guide it clearly said it did have. It appears unfortunately it does not!!!!!!!

I got this phone for christmas and it is great. The camera is crystal clear and there is not one bad thing that i have to say abut it! This is also my first phone with bluetooth! Its great fun sending pictures to people i dont know on the bus! They say that this phone is very tough but its not as when i first got it i dropped it and the external screen broke! But i got a replacement phone so i cant really complain! The best thing about this phone is the silver bit at the front! When i saw it in pictures i thought it was white and it looked ROUGH! But when i saw it in real life i couldnt resist and i bought it! This phone beats all nokias, and any other phone!!!!!!!! Its excellent!!! I strongly reccomend that you buy this Phone NOW!!!!!!!!!

Hi im Matt's sister and I just wanna say I loved his New Motorola V547 and I think you lot that are interested in one I would get yourself out to the shops and buy one!!! Its well worth it, I can't stop Txting my m8's with the Animated Cartoons hehe... "just remember don't listen to other people's reviews on the Net if your interested and just one or two reviews puts you off... IGNORE them, Because they are just people that think they are better... My brother were told that the brand of his PC were crap and dont buy it the first pc he has were a packard bell that were C R A P... now he has Emachines a Fantastic pc... Just shows ya... What is wrong with Motorola? No new ideas? V500, V555, V600, V547, ... always same design, always 5 MB memory, sometimes with bluetooth. Very boring!

Just purchased this phone for my son, had a demonstration of it in the shop and it looks fantastic. Screen size is great and quality of screen picture is very good. Sound is also good, I am sure my son is going to love it.
