At the time of it's birth,I personally believes that this phone should be called smartphone.Because this piece was an attractive one,having a premium features at that time such as radio,calender,voice-recorder,infra-red,gprs and picture messaging.If you compare it with latest monochromes such as nokia 103 and nokia 1202 etc.,the 6510 is definitely ahead still.My Darling(6510).

Me too have it right now as a backup phone. Even had the Nokia 6230i "Enjoy Hidden Powers", which was similar to this one in terms of hidden functionality and being several steps ahead of it's time.

Original covers are very hard to find new.I bought one and paid almost 18eur for one (can't remember but I guess it was from some site). From time to time they appear in good condition in ebay.de About batteries, I have the same problem.I have 3 old batteries, only one is fine. Original batteries are now very old, I guess it won't be a good purchase. I guess I'll try the ones from momax.net (I had a sharp 903 and bought a 2nd battery from them and it was very fine). I even ordered a 3 dollar one from dx.com but I guess it will suck.

I was lucky back then to actually found this phone lying around in a bus stop. Then I swap the blue LEDS for white ones and it damn unique. Its size was ridiculously small compared to the phones of today and what a pity I had to sell it off to make a quick buck after holding it for about a year (cuz i was a student lol).

Love this phone. This was my first phone.I bought it a decade back. It's been thrown,soaked and what not but is still in good condition. Only problem is that the battery is no longer working and the cover is badly damaged.This phone has made me an ardent fan of nokia. After this I bought Nokia nGage then a 1.3mp camera phone (exact model no I forgot ) then E61 then E61i then a Nokia express music then a X6 then C2-01 now 700 (had a few Nokia torch mobile in between as well). Out of all these I am most fond of my Nokia 6510. I would really love to get my hands on a new battery and cover (original). Can anyone, even Nokia help me out ????

Have it since 2003. Used it as a main phone until 2007, then as a back-up phone (now the 3rd phone). The battery is nearly dead by now, only able to see who's calling and call back from my work phone. Still, it's a great phone. Small, comfy, with many features and very well built. Don't want to get rid of it, as I did with other phones before ad after it...

I am from Romania and I ordered it from an website named Okazii but it is very hard to find one in a condition that I found it . Mine on a scale of 1 to 10 it is 9.5 and I found a battery for it and it lastes for almost 1 week . The original one that it had on it was lasting only for 1 day ... It is an incredible divece for its time with very advanced menu for the year 2002 . I am never goind to sell it .

I just recived this phone from an order I gived online and I have to say only this " wow " ! For a phone that has almost 11 years old it is incredible in every way ! The desing , the functions that it has it is incredible !! I am so happy that I have it and I will never sale it . From a scale to 1 to 10 the phone lookes 9.5 so it is in a very good condition for its age ! A lot of friends started asking me how much money I wan't for it :)) . I payd only 20 euros for it :D !

I bought this a used one with my first salary. It's been 8 years since then. Yesterday, I found it lying in my cub board and got it cleaned up. It still works great especially at places where other phones loose signal. I have ordered a new battery as the one in the phone now (BLB-2 / Made in Hungary) does not go beyond 60 minutes of talk time (not bad for an 8 yr old battery). I am gonna use it for some days before putting it back. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 now but, still love my Nokia 6510. It's just beautiful.

Had mine in 2003. Very rugged and it feels good in hands due to its thickness. Designwise, not my favourite but the function was attractive during its time. If I'm not mistaken, this was the first mobile phone with a radio function? I like it and worth the money...

I agree that 6510 is one of the top phones ever made. 6100 is also good phone from the old generation. Presently N8 and iPhone are the smart phones! HTC ... probably not so good as reability and Android is still growing. it needs time to catch Symbian and Windows mobile as well. maybe after few years... Anyway 6510 is my favorite too.

How time flies. Got this phone back in 2002, and it still works well. One time, I accidentally put my jeans in the washing machine with the phone in it, and after drying it, it still functioned well! Maybe the best Nokia ever!

yes release dates differ per country but the release date written in gsmarena is the universal date so this phone was not released before it(2002)morever at 1998 all phones has no vibration and must has external antenna.even 6110 was released at 1998.would be 6510 relaesed in the same year?

the most durable phone i've ever had. was taking a piss and i received an sms, accidentally plunked it in the toilet. removed the casing, dried the inside with a blower. still works find. has a bit of a stink though.

I have been using this mobile phone for as far as I can remmember (could be like a decade or so). The only thing I replace every 4 or so years is the battery. This device is constantly turned on. The only time I turn it off, is when I accidently drop it, and it hits something as hard as concrete or rockish material. It takes some time to locate all phone parts (covers, battery, keyboard...), but once found and put together, just press ON, set up your time and date and you are ready to make another call. Oh, almost forgot, I have also replaced my original Nokia cover with silver coated Chinese plastic. The silver is now gone, after many years of hardship, and the plastic has exposed its own natural white colours. The generic battery holds charge for more then a week. All my family and friends are pushing me really hard to buy new device, but I stubbornly refuse - not sure why...

had this phone since it first came out. i love this phone, so durable, just like my 7210. i accidentally dropped it in a vat full of spaghetti sauce and after cleaning it up, it still worked fine. i left it in the car which was parked in an unshaded area for a whole day, it did not melt or anything.

I have this phone for 6 years and dont have any problem! Its great! Battery is still original! Before 6 years price was like todays new N82! Now I have N73, but I will by N82 - because of better processor and WIFI.

Wow, I didn't know I have a classic! I've got North American 6590i. Got it for my wife years ago, then it was passed down to my daughter, then to my son, and now one of my staff is using it. As far as I know, it's still working fine. And the best part is I've got an extra express cover in a different color for it. I think I'll get it back from my staff and pack it away and save it for the cell phone museum! In terms of features, it can't compete with even the most basic phones today, but I guess it is elegant in its simplicity! I also had the 8390 which was a similar design. Gave it to my mother-in-law. Maybe I'll get that back from her too.....

I'm using this phone now and I think this is the best phone i've ever had.It has WAP so I can read latest news through it.It has fm radio so I can listen to my favourite radio station.It has sound recorder(limited to 3 minutes only.Sigh!)which i can use to record my favourite song and listen it via my headset (as replacement for MP3 player.).Lastly,it is very durable.I have dropped this phone many times and crush the housing/cover once but it still functioning!Pretty tough huh?

I originally bought and used this phone in Asian region for approx. 5 years until I moved to USA that doesn't support the frequency. Overall experience was above satisfactory; it comes small and handy, sleek and elegant-look, features many simple tools we need daily, love the pastel-blue chrome LCD. I can't think of the negative sides of this lovely Nokia 6510, it's one of the best cellphones I've ever had!

I require 2 phones for Business. I already had a Nokia for the first, for the 2nd I got a Samsung flip-phone (from someone) with camera, 2 display, color screen, mp3, blah, blah, blah.. It was nice and fit well, until I saw my sister had a "Dinosaur" 6510.. It attracted my attention immediately ! I asked if she would like to switch with me, and she did not even hasitate ! She got a camera/mp3/blah-blah Samsung phone for here old and busted Nokia... I got a new housing for it and it was as good as new ! Have it for 2yrs already now, it is already in it's 6th year.. Great looking basic phone. The poster who says its ringing tone is a bit weak should go into settings or profiles where you can increase the volume of the ringing tone. Also easy to use and reliable. Comes with a FM radio and voice recorder. Only problem is replacement covers are very hard to come by now.

The only thing is the ringtone volume, it's a bit weak, and has quite a few glitches in the software (V4.00) but the looks, style, performance, absolutely brilliant. Typing SMS-es is a charm, silent keypad, excellent button feel. The blue background is sexy. I must admit, I always feel special when I use this phone amongst others who use N95 or some fancy phone like that :-) It just feels more cool! More than everything, this phone is so freaking robust that I cannot explain, my younger bro had it before me, it fell on the floor on a daily basis, the whole housing is cracked and scratched but everything is still firm in place even though there are parts phsyically missing from it! It's just one of those old cell phones with it's special charm, something that describes you as a person, for me it means: simple, sleek, smooth, classy, functional, smart, easygoing etc, etc ;-) Everybody who owns it or has owned it knows what I'm talking about. The Nokia 6510 is a simple, compact and easy to use mobile phone. This, in my humble opinion is one of the Best mobile phones that Nokia has ever produced. It's a shame that they have not followed this manufacturing pattern of producing high quality and dependable performance phones. So, to you out there who are just looking for a simple, easy to use, no non-sense phone for your eveyday use, consider this time tested model if you can still find it in the market. You know, those older phones are much more sturdier and dependable than today's bells and whistles loaded phones. Again, this is just my opinion. God Bless.

The BEST phone NOKIA has ever made. I have the 6590i (North American version). One thinng will tell it all. I work in a well shielded building, I tried in vain many new phones to get a signal so as to get connected at work.. No way. This phone got 3 dashes without any problem with a flawless quality. I guess Nokia does not produce it anymore just to make room for newer ones :). Well let's ponder at a point here. The most important thing in cell phone is PERFORMANCE, then may be features. All you need is to efficiently stay connected. I don't think a color screen or a camera will compensate for performance!!. In my opinion, it is a cell phone, not a TV or a digital camera... And this one is definitely the best. I bet if it is still produced, it will hold a high ranking against all colored, camerad, blah blah..in the market.. The 6510/90i after 5 years is Nokia's cream of the cake.

my n70 got stuck and it refused to start and thinking that I would miss all the calls .I went down the street and bought nokia 6510 FOR JUST 15$, thought it was a crap phone.But turned to be something great.The looks are superb even now though it was released in 2002 and about the functions, superb stability and it even has a call recorder.I was shocked and ya u guys can use it as a wireless modem if u want. People always make fun you if u own fones like these.So I will be getting my n70 repaired and I think I will have to keep this fone in cupboard when my n70 goes out again I can use this

Warning people: This phone isnt good at all, if you buy brand new, you can use it for maximum 6 months,after that the battery goes weak even you buy new battery doesnt help ! Plus the screen fades alot !! Better buy Samsung or Motorola V3i !

Imagine a celfone way back 5-6 years ago with HSDC for infra red connection with your pc or laptop sync plus its being compact with fm radio. Hey ! I've had this phone for about 2.5 years now. It has worked without any glitches yet.Its the most amazing phone created by nokia. Even after using this phone for such a looooongg time, i still do not feel like upgrading my phone coz this phone gives me everything i need in a phone. Yes, after using the phone for like 25000+ minutes of talktime and endless hours of radio, the battery has given way. Now it lasts me only about 1 day with about 1 hour of talktime and 2 hours of radio, but i feel that is good enough. And also it takes quite a few seconds to save a new reminder but that is because i have plenty of reinders already in it. Also the messages seem to open slower because there are already many messages in the inbox. if you want them to work faster just delete the unnecessary items and it will be as good as new :)) Thanks a lot nokia for creating this beauty !!!

Well,i have bin using the phone for about 7months now.no faults recorded except the one caused by my own carelessnes.One thing pisses me off,the infra-red port has never bin useful since i bought it.i tried sending pics and mess to d fone but all was to no avail.i lost about =N=500 when i made a bet that my infrared was ok.The FM quality of d fone is superb.I think i have to change ny phone and i'm thinking of buying a Sagem My X-7 but the phone does not have a Fm and i'm already addicted 2 a phone with FM.I do not want to use Nokia 3200 cuz its not strong enough.Someone should pls tell Sagem company to do a phone with camera,video and FM.Then sagem will be on top of the world.

Well Im sure many of you either like or dislike the 6510 and most would already know the advantages and disadvantages. But I want to help answer a question that some 6510 owners have complained about, when you SEND a tex message somtimes it takes a long time to send, well one of the main reasons is because if you happen to send when the phone has no signal (or the signal cuts of) the phone will actualy delay its sending for a time in order to give time for the signal to come back on so your tex will have a better chance of sending. In other words if your tex is taking a long time to send then the phone is just waiting for the signal to come back, i think this feature is an advantage. god bless you

No matter what Nokia phone you get you will always have someone knock it! Or find fault with it. The 6510 is the 3rd Nokia phone Ive owned, I found it hanged sometimes (not often like the 8310, the LCD started displaying a white line on top so I had to replace it, appart from that I beleive its a nice little phone and the software is very stable compared to the 8310 or the 6310-6310i. I leave the phone on 24hrs a day and only turn it off when charging so considering the continual use overal its a good phone,I even dropped it comind out of the car and it hit smack on the rough road and to my suprise only the outside was damaged not the inside (Thats why its best to stick with genuine covers no matter what brand of phone you have) those who do not think that the 6510 is not a good phone I respect their comments, but over all I will always stick with Nokia because its easy to use and easy to get parts if you damage it. this phone sucks completely! i don't know if all the nokias are the same, but i had imense problems with reception; i lost the signal many times when the others phones were having maximum! incredible! guess what: reading some recent reviews in specialized magazines i just found out that this is a common problem to nokia 6510, and to other nokia like 6100; 7210, 6610 and so on. their signal sucks. ohterwise a great phone; it has great functions and so on; BUT IT DOESN'T WORK! Keep away from it!

I normally carried 2 phones with all the time, one is my Nokia 7250 (happy with the large memory space of 5.5MB in which I can store lots of picture and games) & my second phone also Nokia 6510. But last 2 months ago, I sold away my 6510 and tried on several models and even color phones, etc...finally I decided no more and bought back the Nokia 6510 for my second phone. The reason is I can't find any non-color phone is better than 6510. The built-in radio and 3 mins voice memo recording is superb, even my 7250 don't have voice recording and voice dialing. If Nokia in future, they have this something like 6510i (same size with color display) and I will definitely go for it. Till now, I still love my 7250 & 6510-so far it's the best of all. The nokia 6510 is the worst handset I have bought so far. For the past 5years I have stayed with nokia, an never experienced any problems. This makes me think twice to purchasing another nokia. The number of times my handset has crashed and erased the memory of both the sim and the phone is unbelievable, sometimes I find it more convientent using a payphone rather than this handset, mid-way through conversation the phone just switches itself off! I would not reccommend this phone to anyone.

You buy the phone you like not the phone others like, for me this is my third Nokia phone and I bought it because I like it not because others have it but because I like it wether or not others like it or not. No matter how great is your phone someone is gonna critisize it, I dont care what others think but the 6510 is the best overal none colored phone, whos needs a colored phone? If you want to get a colored phone just wait another year or two when they improve the color resolution to be like the Canon S200 camera. I have already dropped my 6510 the screen was scratched but the phone was ok, even if it was destroyed I would buy another one, so all I can say is if you buy a 6510 dont be in a hurry to update it or you may end up with second best.

Ive had Nokia 5110,3210,3315,3350 and now the 6510. Its a great phone accept it would be good if it had a sreenn saver display and 459tx characters instead of 160, butif you were to way the differences of the other phones I previously owned this is defenitaly a better phone, it really looks professional and very stylish, the 8310 may be ok but its more a yuppy phone with all those fancy colors & style, but the 6510 will be a real classic. Its much better than an 8310 because the 6510 has got a better screen pixel,more calender entries,auto lock,better sound & display color and overal better software.Why put an 8310 cover on a 6510 phone? The 6510 is a real class phone along with the 9210i & 6310i. The 6310i may have more features but overall the 6510 is a more reliable phone. Even if youve had problems with it just get it fixed and stick with it, the 6510 is a great phone maybe not perfect but sure is better than samsung, ericsson, motorolar or siemens. Those who critisize the 6510 is either because they dont like Nokia or they dont own a 6510. If it wasnt a good phone then why are many business people buying it? And why is it selling quickly on the western and asian market? Just buy one, My advice is to get a cotton cover for the phone it will save it from scratches, dont buy any phone casing that does not have cotton inside, or just make your own, I have a cotton pouch that I put it in when I travel. IF ITS NOT A NOKIA ITS NOT A CELPHONE. God bless you all.

hey dave... who says that the original covers dont fit.... if u want to fit the original 8310 covers on 6510, just snap one of the clips on the upper end of the 8310 cover and it fits perfectly without any play afterwards.....

The differnces between the 8310 and the 6510 is the 8310,s display is in a bigger font which is easier to read the 6510 has a cool blue display and an automatic keypad lock which is the only reason ive got the 6510, watch out if your trying to fit a genuine 8310 case on a 6510 the top locator on the front case is wider on the 6510 the aftermarket cases will fit both

Nice phone!Bought it last month and till now,don't have any complain!I was looking for this phone when the price was 320Euro but suddenly price went down to 240Eur unlocked and i bought it without thinking twice. I love it's performance, never had a droped call even in shady areas...well,i have the latest software version. On the other end, i like very much the way SMS are handled and one great thing is that in calls log, you can see 10 last calls of the same person. The organizer is great and the "TO do" list also. Radio keeps me smiling in those boring time. This phone hasn't MMS, EMS or poliphonic souds...to see pictures i have internet in my computer anf to listen to music i have my Hi-Fi! Battery lasts for about 6 days but i bought a 1150mAh battery and it lasts for about 11 days!In short,is a great handset and i'll not changing it so soon!

the 6510 is sound.but i guess its software could be better.when a text comes in while you're opening up a new one,you get a blank screen and the phone hangs.And,sometimes the radio stations switch on their own,making listening a bit frustrating.I still love the phone anyway.Its resolution,sms storage capacity,size,keys etc...

I like this phone very much especially for sms usuage and the built-in radio. To me, it's the best non-color phone around. I bought the original red color as told that only limited stock and it fit very nice on the phone. Why still waiting, go for the Nokia 6510 and just forget the rest. Regards.

Chetan, 6510 does not have composer, it can recieve 10 ringtone. 8310 housing can't be fix onto the 6510. Different country have different toys(accessories) for their package, and the colours for different country are different too, of course the headset can be use for radio, tats the reason why they wanna have a dual headset.

These 2 models, so far I tried many other models including color phones, I have eventually bought back 8310 & 6510 to use because it's simple, small in size and yet built-in with many big functions. Yes, 6510 and 8310 voice recording and radio fm quality is very good. My opinion is 6510 voice recorging is better than 8310, also the call reception and firmware. My previous 8310 was very unstable. 6510 is not so stylish as 8310, but, hey, this is a bussiness phone, not a fashion one. Color phones look great, but dissapointing in terms of battery life...Also u get bored with 'em.

I have been using Nokia 8310 and really like the phone. I changed it and use T68i only for 3 mths, cannot tolerate anymore-earpiece always cannot contact properly, sometime the phone hanged???, cannot traced what time on the calls after the next day (only showed the date), etc... so I decided to upgrade to Nokia 6610 (looks impressive but disappointed), the phone have no voice dailing, no recording, even mms cannot have animated type, earpiece had to plug and tilt down before unplug (like T68i) etc.... within a month, I sold my Nokia 6610 and bought my Nokia 6510 (quite similar to 8310). I agreed with DarkDr3am that Nokia 6510 is still the best among the non-color phone, actually after tried the T68i & 6610 color phone, no big deals about color and mms-just get bored after a while. What I liked most in 8310 & 6510 is the built-in radio & 3 mins Voice recording (sound quality is superior)also the big storage space for sms (you can create different folders to store) that it really useful to me.

I'm a Nokia fun and i know a lot about phones 'cause i had 15 phones. I had Bosch 509, Philips Diga, Alcatel 303,Ericsson A 1018 S,t29, t65, t66, t68,Siemens Sl42, Nokia 3310, 8310, 6310i, 8850, 6510. When i first had an 6510 I decided to change it for T68.It was the biggest mistake of my life. Ericsson an other phone brands is shit compared to Nokia, especially to 6510 or 6310i. Now i returned to 6510 because this is best u can get on the market, beleieve me. If you want toys, buy color screen mobiles, but if you want a real mobile get 6510. Best of all i had. Nothing compared to it, excepting 6310i, but this one is too big, it doesn't fit in your pocket, so i didnt't like it. 6510 is the best choice in terms of money anf fiability.

A simpler tip on determining the difference between mono and stereo: in mono, the sound seems to be coming from the center of your head, while in stereo it seems to come from the sides and all around. Although 6510's radio is only mono, it does work and that's fine with me =)

Eu am acum un 6510. Constat ca incet, da' sigur se vede din ce in ce mai des acest telefon in mainile tinerilor. Ceea ce nu-mi convine. :) Tocmai de aceea mi-am schimbat fata urgent cu una albastra. Am cautat ore pana am gasit una originala. Am acest telefon de vreo 2 luni. Este un telefon pe care mi l-am luat pt. ca este mic si bine dotat. Haidetzi sa vedem respectiv sa citim impreuna ce are in plus fatza de Nokia clasice,respectiv clasa incepatori (3210,3310,3330,3410). Si sa ne bucuram de ce are in plus si sa il injuram de ceea ce are in minus...:)(Sau poate n-are) :) Fatza de multi altii care au telefoane busines class,eu il folosesc in procent de 90%. Adica: Poti salva in jur de 150 de mesaje tip sms in directoare? (My Folders) Pai daca pot face asta de ce sa nu-mi fac eu directoare?Ex: "De la Gigescu, De la Vasilica, De la Gheorghitza, De trimis, Primite" etc. Avantaje? Pai in primul rand telefonul le citeste mai repede fiind in memoria interna. Am introdus odata pt. un mic test intr-un director vreo 120 de sms-uri. Si atunci cand am apasat "Open" a durat cam 2secunde si jumatate pt. a intra in acea arhiva de 120 de sms-uri. Ma deranjeaza faptul ca unele fete au acest terminal si habar-n-au cu ce se mananca, si ce are in plus inafara de radio fata de 3310! :) Cica: "Imi place mai mult ca e mic si e mai shucar". Ma ia plansul cand le aud. :) Si ca sa se mire lumea in continuare de ceea ce scriu eu aici, continui comentariile despre 6510. 6510 are acelasi tip de meniu ca si 6310 (nu 6310i) numai ca nu are bluetooth. Dar are radio fm incorporat. 6310 n-are...:) Hihi... Ce as folosi eu mai mult? Bluetooth sau radio? :) Pai cred ca radio. M-am dus la un magazin, am introdus mufa de casti in el, mi-am pus castile la urechi, si am inceput sa caut Europa Fm. Il ascultam pe respectivul animator si a inceput sa-mi sune telefonul. Deodata radioul s-a oprit si s-a auzit in casti soneria respectiva. Am intrat in panica. Nu stiam ce sa fac. :) Am scos repede jakul din telefon si am raspuns...Dupa convorbire vanzatoarea mi-a spus: "Castile au si handsfree"...:)Ce-o fi zis: "Ia uite-l si pe taranul asta! Are telefon de 11 mil. si nu stie cu ce se mananca." :) Totusi castile nu mi le-am cumparat pt ca nu erau originale. Cele originale costa 700 de mii si acelea costau 250 de mii. Am considerat ca cele originale au basi mai buni si receptie mai buna. :) Mentionez ca radioul este mono. Da' oricum nu se merita sa asculti stereo pt. ca este fas-ul mare. Trecem la submeniul Missed Calls. Ceea ce mi-a placut este ca, dc o persoana ti-a dat 3 apeluri la 3 ore diferite, tu poti vedea asta. Accesand numele respectiv prin options-time of call- si dupa aceea scroland de sus in jos. El poate memora 5 ore la fiecare numar ratat. Mentionez ca toate Nokia busines class au asa ceva.(de la 6110 pana la 6310i) Producatorul nu specifica acest lucru in manualul de utilizare. Si nu specifica multe altele. Unul dintre putinele Nokia care are blocare automata a tastaturii. Iti poti seta ca tastele sa fie blocate automat in timp de minim 10 secunde sau maxim de 1 ora. Cine il seteaza pe 1 ora?! Tata mare poate...:) Blocare automata a tastaturii mai are 3510,6310i si probabil cele cu ecran color...Cred ca are si 8910...Ceea ce m-a mirat este ca 8910 are 4 liniutze la semnal si baterie si 6510 are 7. Nu stiu care sa fi fost politica celor de la Nokia. Jocurile sunt in numar de 4. Ceea ce gasim in plus este Bumper. Nu este Bumper-ul clasic ci un Pin Ball. Ceea ce este misto este ca rezolutia ecranului este mare astfel incat la Snake am ajuns la fenomenalul record de 3056! Cine nu ma crede sa se intalneasca cu mine sa vada.:)La jocuri are un sistem de instructiuni meserias si atunci cand citesti ce trebuie sa faci la jocul respectiv, iti si arata partea respectiva din joc. O alta funcite pe care o intalnim la Nokia busines class (mai nou) este meniul to do list. Nu este cine stie ce. Iti scrii niste notite pe acolo si le pui niste prioritati. Maxim 60 de caractere la fiecare notitza, si maxim 30 de notitze. Sa trecem la calendar. O functie pe care o folosesc des. Pe langa faptul ca este un calendar mai avansat decat la 6210 este afisat mult mai lejer. Nu ti se afiseaza o singura zi, ci intreaga luna. Pe langa functiile de repetare mai ai avantajul ca poti scrie pana la 256 de caractere la fiecare notitza din calendar. Infraros-ul este o functie pe care o cunosc multi. Da nu toti stiu ca se gaseste numai pe cele busines class. 6510 mai are in dotare functia de inregistrare. Te poti inregistra ca reportofon sau poti inregistra o convorbire. Maxim 3 minute. Minim 1 secunda. Maxim 10 fisiere cu inregistrari. Mi-ar fi placut sa fie mai multe minute posibile..Totdeauna m-a mirat cum de Siemens SL45 poate inregistra pana la 300 de minute.Super! O functie ingenioasa: Te inregistrezi : "trebuie sa ma duc la gagica sa mi-o pun ca mi s-a umplut sacul" si pui telefonul sa sune la ora cutare in data cutare. El suna a doua zi (sa zicem) afisand pe ecran ca am o inregistrare de ascultat. O noua functie la Nokia: Portofel. Buna. Dar nu pt. mine. :) Pai am eu carduri visa sau mai stiu eu ce? :) Daca am mai multe (max 5) si nu tin minte codul fiecaruia scriu acolo codul cartelei respective si ce mai am de notat, activez pasword-ul si gata! :) O alta chestie misto care a mai aparut pe Nokia (numai busines class) este Comanda Vocala. (Nu vb de apelarea vocala! ) Ei bine atunci cand nu ai acces prea bun la butoane, apesi un buton si spui : "Radio"! si telefonul trece automat pe radio. (numai daca ai introdus castile) Sau ii mai spui: "Schimba postul" si el trece pe postul numarul 2. Sau mai poti pune comanda la profil. Spui: "Silentios" si telefonul trece pe profilul silentios fara a mai apasa vreun buton. De alte functii de baza nu are rost sa mai vb. Dar le specific pt ca unii pot crede ca nu le are. Cronometru, Numaratoare inversa, (adica in 2 ore sa sune) calculator, convertor valutar, mesaje imagine, primire de mesaje imagine, trimitere mesaje imagine, primirea melodiilor,etc. Politica celor de la Nokia este ca cei ce au busines class nu au nevoie sa compuna melodii pt. ca au trecut de varsta tineretzii...:) Si ca trebuie ca si telefoanele de la clasa incepatori sa aiba ceva in plus pt. a se vinde si ele...:) Este o chestie practica faptul ca poti da un timp de durata unui profil. Adica te culci, este pe profilul de somn, dar dupa 3 ore trece singur pe profilul general in timp ce tu dormi inca. Conferinta este alta functie care nu se gaseste decat la Nokia de clasa mijlocie si cele de clasa busines. Alti producatori ofera aceasta functie si la modelele pt. incepatori. (ex. Motorola T190.) Mi s-a parut de multe ori o revelatie faptul ca pot inregistra o conferinta de 4 persoane. Despre agenda telefonica nu as mai spune multe pt ca asta inseamna sa mai scriu inca atat...:) Bineinteles ca atunci cand iti pui nr.de telefon in memoria interna, nu ai probleme atunci cand opresti si pornesti telefonul. Adica nu mai stai pana citeste sim-ul. Poti nota un nume al unei persoane pana la 40 de caractere! O buba pe care am observat-o in prezentarea acestui telefon se refera la acel 500X3. Este vorba despre 5X500. Dar cred ca asta depinde si de notitele pe care le-ai alocat fiecarui nume sau de cate numere ai alocat persoanei repsective. Poate se reduc la 400X5..Exista un termen la aceasta chestie care se numeste memorie dinamica. Dar in orice caz se pot aloca maxim 5 numere de telefon la fiecare persoana. Bineinteles ca ar mai fi multe de spus dar hai sa iti spun ce NU imi place la 6510. Nici de-ai draqu nu vor astia de la Nokia sa puna functia de afisare a timpului de convorbire in timpul convorbirii...:( Magari... O chestie pe care am observat-o de curand.Daca scriu un mesaj sms si am scris cateva caractere acolo si vreau sa ma intorc in submeniul precedent, nu pot face asta decat dc apas pe butonul de inchidere a apelurilor (cel roshu). Altfel sunt nevoit sa sterg ceea ce scrisesem acolo. Chestie generala la mai toate Nokia de altfel. O data la 4 saptamani ii cade semnalul pur si simplu. Timp de vreo un minut. Daca incearca cineva sa te sune in acel minut.("Abonatul xxx nu poate fi contactat")Dupa care liniutele revin la normal cam dupa un minut. Nu stiu inca daca s-a intamplat pt. ca butonam la greu pe la el, da'in doua luni de cand il am, mi s-a intamplat asta de 2 ori. Am fost dezamagit de chestia asta, dar se pare ca prea imi placea mult acest telefon. In legatura cu standby-ul. Se afiseaza sub forma a 7 liniutze. Se tine f bine cu a 7-a. A 6- si a 5-a se duc rapid, dupa care constant. L-am supus zilele astea unui test fara sa vreau. Am vb imediat dupa incarcare cam intr-o zi, peste 4,5 ore! Acest timp s-a derulat prin 15 apeluri, punand la calcul si putina butonare si bineinteles neoprit. Am mai apreciat ca, cu ultimele 2 linii am vb peste 40 de minute dupa care : "Batery Low"...:) Mititelul de el...:) Dupa acest timp de convorbire,am mai adaugat puncte la parerea generala. Dupa ce ii scazusem la faza cu semnalul. Nu ma asteptam sa pot vb cu el mai mult de 3 ore... La standby se tine chiar bine, avand in vedere marimea si acumulatorul lui. (Dupa cum am vazut si la convorbire) 4 zile full fara oprire si vb in acest timp circa 10 minute. Acumulatorul are 750mah. Per total sunt multumit in procent de 90%. Ar fi fost mai mult dc nu era faza cu semnalul. Sper sa nu se mai repete, sau macar sa-mi dau seama de la ce se trage. Probabil de la Soft.. Acest comentariu este lasat aici pt. ca sunt un fun al gsm-urilor. Nu am avut prea multe da' ele au fost urmatoarele: (in ordinea de pe tricou) :) Nokia 6150, Ericsson 2618, Nokia 3210,Alacatel 511, Sony Z5, si 6510. Softul pe care il am este:V 04.12 din 28-08-2002. i've always been a nokia fan since many years ago. but i'm getting very fed up with nokia now days. just gotten the 6510 2 mth ago, then phone just simpily switch off it self and turn on itself sometimes. i got to force myself to continue using nokia all because of the huge memory and user-friendly function. Look at all the up coming models.. they looks like shit. not to talk about the function when their look is sux. nokia just keeps on producing new models but their software is shit, they did't even test their phone properly before launching them into the market, and therefor causing problems to the users. talking about their 8800 and 8900 series model, i believe most ppl aggree tat the 8850 was a very successful phone at the time when it launch because of it's elegant look and solid software which is very dependable. look at the 8855 which is so big and the heavy, inconvinence 8910. I bought this phone after i've had 6310i and 8310. 6510 is an alternative for both of them (overall 6310i is a very good phone but it's huge, backlight is too dim compared to 6510; 8310 is very stylish, nice backlight, but poor sound/voice recorder, unstable software). In terms of quality and size, 6510 is better compared to this phones. Except Nokia's phones(3310, 8310, 6310i), other phones i had(Siemens SL42, Ericsson T29, T65, Philips) were crap. Good work Nokia !

i think 6510 far outbeats all other phones. some ppl might think it looks like a toy, or is too common, or even too simple. but sincerely, isnt this phone built with the simplicity of loads of functions? 6510 is both easy to use and its functions outbeats the 8310 and 88++ series. its kinda like a combination of sports, personal liking and elegance. 6510 is so compact too, and with the style and features there together as one, it simply makes this phone a worth buy! and a great deal =)

I have tried most of the brand especially latest model but in the end I still stick with Nokia. Currently, I am using 8310 for my Starhub Line, 6510 for my Singtel Line and I love them most. Don't get impressed with color screen phone, it's cost so much more and even pay more for the MMS. the font in nokia 6510's menu is not as gd as those of its other models (i was a user of nokia 8250) but the backlight is not as bright n glaring as 8250. n if u have big thumbs, it would b pretty difficult to press the buttons for SMS. the radio function is acceptable although i must say that the dual purpose headset, which comes with the phone does look a lil silly. n when u off the phone, it will takes longer for the backlight to turn off completely.

Hi everyone, At first, I thought the Nokia 6510 was just another 8310. However, my opinion changed when I got it. It was wonderful. Having a Nokia 6510 is just like having an assistant with you all the time. Also, its backlight is not as glaring as the Nokia 8250, which make it good to read even at night! Basically, its look are not as boastful as the Nokia 8310, but it complements beauty and brains in its own rightful ways. Cheers to Nokia 6510!!!

CK..since Nokia 8310 has lots of software troubles.. I advice you to get a 6510. It doesn't have any software error issues and it has features like what 8310 has but better ...like 6510 has the Wallet application ..the 8310 don't have it. 6510 doesn't hang its fast, while 8310 has problems with it like hanging sometimes.

Coming from a siemens m35 and not being able to decide between me45 and 6510 I bought the 6510 only because of the size matter. Things that I am dissapointed from: 1)handsfree not included 2)wallet malfunction leading to software upgrade which means I get to have no phone for a week 3)poor reception. the siemens got along in the basement the nokia can't be away from the window 4) very quiet. I can't hear it in the car - I can't listen to others in a noisy environment which I could with the siemens 5)the sent message report informs you only about the time you sent the message and not the time it was delivered-all nokia feature. Despite all that, it is a remarkable unit which provides loads of fun with it's really extraordinary features. Guys consider the Me45 -it's water proof and has a speaker-no radio though!

This is a no-nonsense phone! Pure business. It fits into an 8310 clear protective case. Battery lives up to it's specs. Voice recorder sounds like crap on playback; likewise for voice command. Blue screen is o.k. Should have composer, but that would detract from business image of this phone. Operates like 8210's logic. All in all, fairly decent, but a little stuffy.

Well, nokia 6510 is way beyond 8310 in terms of design, features and efficiency. I can tell that since my friend has an 8310 and I have personally do some thinkering on it. I found out many bugs and inefficiency and useless stuff. My friend had pointed this out on me 2 days after buying it. I recently bought 6510 and was overwhelmed with its features and elegant design. Wow! 6510 rules!

No the Nokia 6510 does not hang like the 8310 does. The real difference between the two phones is the software. The 6510 has a different kind of software (V3.30) while the newest Nokia SW#(5.05). Only noticable difference is that the Nokia 8310 comes with a Headset and the 6510 not.

coola, try Virra Mall in Greenhills. Last time I checked, you can get one for less than P 17K (no warranties though). If you require a warranty, try Globe's "HUB" at the Powerplant or Glorietta. the handset solo is around P 19K. You can get it cheaper if you get a 'plan' subscription.

Funny but the 8310 is cheaper than the 6510 here in the Philippines. You can get it for around US$290. Well the 8310 has been getting a lot of flak lately because of the bugs in its software. You'd still have to shell out an extra $25 just to upgrade the software. The 6510 seems ok, so far. Been receiving fairly good reviews from early shifters. I'm just not too impressed with the cover. Up close, the plastic cover looks cheap and the colors boring.

The 6510 makes a serious impression. Solid, little eye-catching cover, not so multi-coloured like the 8310, a superb display with a higher resolution than the 8310. The keypad has a more precise pressure point, the letters on the buttons are better legible when the backlight is on. The rest is like the 8310 and good! I dont regret my purchase!

Tried this phone. The fonts are smaller. Both battery and signal bars have more (just like 7110). Size just like 8310, but software similar to 7110/6210, meaning you can store more numbers per name and flexi-memory. Navigation buttons are too close together. Answer and hang up buttons are too small.

I think Nokia realise just how poor the 8310 looks and that many people have complained about it, wont buy it and have therefore redesigned/remarketed it with a few small improvements. Looks great. The Nokia 6510 has a high resolution display with a new pastel blue LED backlight for enhanced display clarity. The display also allows users to view four full lines of text at a time, making it ideal for mobile Internet browsing or Personal information management - like viewing the Phone Book and Calendar functions.

Dear Kaloo, if you bothered to compare the specs or even read the earlier post, you would find out that this is almost the exact phone as the 8310. This phone should belong to the 8000 series rather than the 6000, actually, if Nokia was really honest they would call it 8310 vers 2 (or something). And not that I won't to defend Nokia, but it has got GPRS, just like 8310(and everything else the 8310 has). And all countrys with decent phone companys supports GPRS by now.

This is going to be the one of the classics. Similar to what the 6150 was when it was king. Great display, and for once its not lacking any essential features, except GPRS, but who cares ... most networks arent supporting that right now anyways. Great phone ! i would trade in an 8310 for this anyday. And someone elses query as to how much the 7650 was going to be... well it will be around the same price as a 9210 when its out.

He he, it seems to be a showdown between just the two of us. If there's an update on the calendar (something Nokia hasn't bothered to do for ages) also,and improved screen, it seems a little more justifiable to launch this phone, but not much. But my point is that Nokia hasn't spoiled us with something new and interesting as they used to do for a while. It seems more and more that Ericsson, Siemens and Samsung have got the lead by now (maybe not in sales, but that's just a matter of time). And for the 7650, I have heard a lot different figures on the prize. Some say it will cost as much as the 9210, some says it will cost 5500 SEK(slightly less than T68 and almost the same prize as 8310). I cannot imagine that this phone with digicamera,colour screen etc will have the same price as the 8310, not in my life. No way that can be (even if the 8310 is extremely overprized).

Well.. it might sound small difference, but in use it is quite big; 6510 shows WAP pages better than 8310 does (does'nt cut 1/4 out from right side etc..). And in SMS use extra line is also cool. Calendar in 6510 is also better than in 8310. 7650 won't be that expensive, estimated price in Europe is about 550 EUR, so, it might be cheaper than T68!

Have checked about the display and have to admit that youre right, but hey, that's not a BIG difference. And even if you think, it doesn't justifie Nokia to release one similar phone after another. The only interesting phone they have released recently is the 7650, and it's more of a PDA(weigth,price etc) then a phone. The rest is just old news or bad news. Seems like Nokia are getting a bit desperate, and feel that they have to display a lot of new phones just to show that they still are a creative company. But the sad thing is that they actually only got one new interesting phone, and that one isn't actually a "pure" phone.

8310 display is 84*48, and 6510 96 x 60 pixels. A BIG difference when browsing WAP pages. Personally, I still think that Nokis is the king. I used Ericsson T68 for a week, and ... well, cool desing and featurs, but implementation was very poor. Phone was too slow to use (many times slower than Nokia 6210 was with sw 3.0x). And very buggy in all other ways as well, crashed several times in a day etc. And there is no use for color display in that kind of phone.. hey, MMS phone with 1 picture memory! WOW! =)

Well there is a difference between Nokia 6110 and 6150. The later has dualband, no biggie I know, but at the time it was. And if the 6510 has IrDA, Cat has even a bigger point, the phones are completely similar (I havent found anything about difference in resolution). And for the looks, it's not difficult to make a phone that looks better than the 8310, which must be one of the ugliest of Nokias later phones, well not including the 5210. And that's kind of sad, cause they are the only phones that doesn't fit in Nokias standard design, which is getting kind of boring by now. Once Nokia where kings with beautiful design and revolutionary functions, not more.

Great phone, im my opinnion, it looks better than 8310. Also, dislplay resolution is better. And it HAS an IrDA port! Nokia-asia pages say that there is, and you can see it clearly with demo in www.nokia.com.

Are U kiddin me???!!Really! Are U KIDDIN me???? This is the exactly same phone as 8310!! What's happening in Finland? Only difference I can find is if it will have IR or not, but that's no improvement! Are Nokia so desperate now that they release the same phone under different names?

It's looks like combination of 8250 & 8310, but WHY No IR port? No Bluetooth?? ...and heavier!! Hate Nokia's market segmentation strategy plan for it's phones!!! When Nokia going to launch a phone with a similar size & dump all the damn features inside??
