I can't use bluetooth headset when my Sirocco is in my pants pocket - the sound stutters until i get phone closer to the headset. No such problem with other smartphones. Tried to play around with bluetooth developer settings, but they just won't stick. Is there a way to fix this?

Hey, you don't need to install any application for it. I think software update has enabled Facial recognition in Sirocco. Just head towards Settings -> Security & Location -> Smart Lock -> Trusted face.

I purchased a Nokia 8 Sirocco in June (after having 5 iPhones) and I can truly say I enjoy the experience it offers. I’m unsure as to how many feature updates it will get ( where apple supports devices for many years), i find the phone has incredibly good battery life. I’m getting roughly between 2 and 3 days out of a charge, which in my opinion is great. I would highly recommend this phone to anyone. Don’t be scared of getting a Nokia !

I bought both of them, then screwed up applying the first one (partially my fault) and bought the second one, which still works. Both are very similar. The first one comes with an additional plastic tool that helps you apply the screen protector straightly.

Bought it for 330 Euro in january and have not regretted it one single day. It is fast, always up to date, not too big and with the back.rider GCam Mod (or with Arnova), the camera is fine. I do not mind the slightly blueish tint at the corners of the display. I can imagine this is a display that gets scratches quite easily, as Gorilla Glass 5 is softer than e.g. Gorilla Glass 3. I bought a screen protector in Germany that is probably the same as the one from Alienexpress, at least it looks the same. I tried different types of protectors and this on was the only that worked. Also, with the display going over the edges, you have to be very careful dropping it, no case will protect it if it hits the bottom with the edges first.

Thanks. My phone used to have a film protector on the display, but I removed it because it was a bit sticky which is quite annoying when swiping text and it also gave a yellowish hue on the display. I love the film protector on the back though, because my phone now sticks to my hand when holding it without cover. I'll try it anyway on the front because these tempered glass protectors suck for a curved screen... This will definitely be my last phone with a curved screen!!

Netherlands. ps last week the phone slipped out of my hand, just 20 cm. above the bricks and it cracked the screen in the bottom corner... That was with a casing that extends on top and bottom above the screen area. So, now with a Nalia tempered glass screen protector because the crack in the screen was really annoying to touch, but the fit in the curved corners is not perfect which often gives problem when trying to touch something in the corners. I've also read mixed reviews on the Panzerglass tempered screen protectors, so is there any other tempered glass screen protector available for the Nokia 8 Sirocco?

Bought it, and within one month screen got crashed. Very sensitive device. Speed is good, no hanging, camera moderate, quick charging working as well. Camera app of (pre-installed) shows now as not supported, I had a chat with Nokia support and they said we are working on it and it will get ready soon with next update. But so far it remains as same. My rating overall 2/5.

I bought a second-hand Nokia 8 Sirocco last Month for EUR 250 which I considered to be a steal. The first owner had it for 5 Months only but it was hardly used by him. Already got the June 2019 security update and just now the July security update is installing (Netherlands unlocked). I've got back.rider's gcam port which also makes it an excellent camera phone. Only downside are the overly-saturated OLED screen colours without any possibilities to adjust the saturation. I was considering the Samsung S10e (too expensive and Samsung's OneUI is meh), Samsung Galaxy A40 (mid-range phone and Samsung's OneUI is meh), Nokia 7.1 (mid-range phone and too tall) but the Nokia 8 Sirocco checked all my boxes apart from SD-card support and dual SIM which is only nice to have for me. I got a cheap thin black TPU case from aliexpress (covering also the sharp edges including the buttons) and the phone now just resembles my old love: black Nokia Lumia 920! Last week I had accidentally thrown the phone pretty hard on the laminate flooring, and there was no dent, scratch or any other damage to the phone; testament to the Nokia built quality! :)

This phone is absolutely worth to buy. It is underrated in the media. I could easily upgrade the Nokia 8 Sirocco to Android 9. Compare to the other smartphone with same storage space the screen resolution is way better. I will recommend this phone easily.

I agree with you if we only consider & compare the on-paper specifications of Sirocco & S9, but there is no drastic difference between these two in real life performance. Sirocco performs equally well, if not more than S9.

Any one else notice the massive Nav bar after the April update, its very annoying and takes up so much of space on the phone. I love the phone more than anything thou but like Nokia please fix this or allow us to have full screen app's, using gesture navigation like Samsung/ Huawei :((((((((

Nokia phones are really value for money, they are not like xiaomi or samsung the build quality of phones is best and they have stock android which means no unnecessary bloatware and latest software updates first for 2 years. Nokia 8 sirocco has steel frame which is stronger than aluminium which is not even in i phones.

Got mine 2 days ago, out of the box updated to Android 9, no problems as of yet. Just the Android One that made the search bar permanent on the front screen which is easily fixable by using Nova Launcher.

Dont buy any nokia phones and that is coming from my one year use of my phone. The phone is good on paper with high end specs but with just one year of use I am facing so many issues and the customer care service is also almost useless. Completely regret buying it and will suggest anyone else to buy any nokia phone. Look for one plus 6, honor view 20 or the samsung s10e.

I just bought it, and I'm very pleased with the phone. Very snappy. Battery life is good for now. It's great for everything that reviews say it is, and it's bad for everything they say it is. Blue tint on the screen is noticeable when you tilt the phone, and even when you don't, you can see it on the curve. It doesn't bother me at all. It's a great screen. Yes, galaxy has better screen, but not drastically better. Sharp edges can feel not so comfortable in the hand, but I have slightly larger hands than average, and it's ok for me to hold it. It's a shame that one of the main cameras isn't wide angle. I'd appreciate that much more that the telephoto one. Main reasons I went for it is stock android and small form factor. Yes, it's a bit wide, but as I said, it's fine for me. Best you can do is go to the store and see it for your self. Overall, I am very happy with the phone and I like that it is not like every other block with a notch. I mentioned mostly the bad things, because everything else is perfect.

Hi, Got my Android 9 (PIE) update yesterday night in India. 1) The visible benefit is that the Cat to TV Miracast now works on the AnyCast M9 Plus Dongle. 2) Try to cast directly on my Sony Bravia TV. Though being very thin, its still comfortable to hold while texting. & As such you would use a case, so thats not an issue. Cameras are a little bit on downside compared to other phones in this price segment but still the pictures come really great in good lighting conditions. Battery life has been the plus point considering stock Android with Android one integration. If your basic purpose of buying a phone is camera, then you may skip this, but except camera, this phone is just awesome.

By far, hands down best phone I have ever had in ALL ways!! The all body Gorilla Glass with the beveled P-oled screen makes it a stunning beauty that fits in my hand comfortably! The security of the Android-One is so comforting! The dual SIM also a added bonus since I travel south for so many months it allows for a Mexican SIM. The speed, Ram, and storage is remarkable, no comparison to my Note 3 or Note 5. I have always been a Samsung lover, no more. I will own this phone for many years! put in network setting to manual 3g...not automatic 3g..but manual..u will then have better stronger more penatrating connection if not near a tower..4g has not much range or penatration..height helps also watch the material on roof walls.. find best spot in house... best window for best single test in worse time of day night..count 100 ..even 1 cm can change things.. then lean cell on a window..so top of cell touch glass..put in speaker mode... to get best inside house connection find best window..the top of cell needs to touch glass..under cell put a hight friction rubber material to stop movement slidding falling Gods blessing aust..u can also put cell high in a plactic clear bottle..experiment..some cells connect better than others..have a world class receiver like nokia lumia 820/920/1020/950/950xl..the new anroid nokias are not as good connecters as some older nokia lumias..the receiver depends on the model not on the price ..house wall peneration good in some older nokia lumias..use a window height helps..God bless john australia..

I am from India & my Sirocco is having issues with 4g connection. It is not consistent & frequently looses the connection. But works fine when i switch to 3g. Same is the case with Bluetooth. It frequently gets disconnected with my smartband. Both these issues were not happening with my previous Samsung phone. Is anyone having the solution to these issues ?

I own a nokia 8 (not Sirocco), and google camera and it's software processing is far superior to HMD's halfbaked immature camera. Dynamic range, details are much better while noice is kept to a fairly minimum level. You should try the GCam, it won't break anything :D

Probably not, I have checked pretty much all information on Chinese version, from what I can tell, Chinese consumers are also complaining about not having dual SIM capability. However, I have found a website selling the dual SIM model (or at least they claim it's dual SIM model) in Dubai region, so I wonder if that model is United Arab Emirates exclusive.

Hello friends, I would like to share my experiences with Nokia 8 Sirocco. Its been 4 months the phone works smoothly if we talk about the ease to use. However the issues am facing are as below: - I have noticed a strange thing in the screen since I purchased the phone but thought that it must be there for some reason. Actually its a small dark spot in the bottom right of the screen although it's small but I suspect it's a problem with the screen as it's more prominent in white background. - Secondly my fast charging is working in a strange manner initially it used to show 'charging rapidly' from 0-50% but now it's showing 'charging rapidly' when phone is above 50% and it's taking time to charge it's not fast. -The back panel as we ll know near the camera part gets heated up while streaming videos or using camera. -Last but not the least those crappy earphones they worked well for first two months now they don't work when plugged in, the phone automatically plays sound on speaker it's so embarrassing sometimes. I used to love Nokia a lot but am asking myself this question now am I crazy to spend that much on a phone and even after that am feeling like am using an old phone.

Hi all, I just bought this N8S these days and noticed one issue. When listening the music from Usb-C headsets and 4G network is connected, then I hear a strange distortion noise. Nor very loud but still unpleasant, especially when moving to next song, play/stop. It is not happening if switch off 4G and connect to 3G. It is not hapenning when listening through WiFi as well. I suppose it might be an issue with 4G antena. Dears N8S users, can you check please if you have the same issue? Thank you!

Bought the 128GB handset July 2018 for 512 Euro, imported to NZ. Very snappy phone, weight and construction feels great. All glass design is very classy. 16x9 screen ratio is so much better for video playback however the curved screen tints colour on the edges. Loud speaker is so loud it starts to distort at 60%. Headphones are a must (USB type C only). Fantastic pics available on these lenses.

This is my first phone to utilize wireless Qi charging. I noted the phone gets very hot when charging. According to Nokia Support app, it gets up to 44°C (into the red zone already) and the app still reports it as "normal" phone temperature. I know charging above 40°C reduces LiON battery life. What's your experience?

Using it from a month, Battery package after contiously using for 8 hours like playing games and surfing on net, still 20 percent was left, And by daily normal usage with contiously net on it's going for one and half day, Handy phone, camera quality is awesome. Sound quality and other features are so much good, Price is little high but it's a very good phone for a long run.

The fact that it keeps the 16:9 aspect, has a P-OLED sharp display (537 ppi), very compact, smooth and fast thanks to the Android One and SD835 with 6GB of RAM, makes this a great phone,. Stainless steel just makes the phone more durable,. A few 'off-targets' do not make it a bad phone,. It only makes the competition a much better option, in this case the LG V30, LG V35, OP6,. For a person who just needs a good machine I'd very much suggest this phone,.

Innovations like that of Oppo Find X are just gimmicks. It just increases the price of the device. As you've said Nokia is good at making phones which is just sufficient. But, what I feel is that they could've avoided using Stainless Steel which would've reduced the cost of the device further. After all a mobile phone has a life span of nearly 2 to 3 years. Could have been so much better this phone.....yet fails to deliver a true flagship experience. It´s fine if you´re after a different and unique product and you don´t care about bezeless (18:9) phones i get that, still.... When prices falls (which eventually it will) it will be worth to take a look. Still capable SD835, Android one and high end quality materials. For 450€ it would have make much more sense.... After seeing some reviews I can conclude this phone is very overpriced at $720+. It is quite compact by today definition. 5.5" phone with 81% stb ratio is very nice. Though the stainless steel material its using is not helping at all with its very heavy weight for a small body phone. The Poled screen is having trouble too with color shifting at angle. The blue tint is too obvious at an angle. Quite unexpected for oled display. The curved side is also not helping with color shifting. Camera is subpar too for a flagship at this price. Performance wise it is very good with android one oreo. Not much a recommended phone for anyone thinking to buy this at its current price. If it is somewhere around $500 maybe you can give it a second thought.

Again, why? Nokia maybe, is spending time on must haves than nice to haves. Most, as in 95% of people, already have a dialer app, a message app, etc. By Nokia not adding to the already very diluted market, it would help not hinder the mobile world. Did you notice the Bluetooth 5 and P-OPLED. For a hugely lesser price... Still a very big letdown on all new phones removing the FM radio, all but SAMSUNG, who when they removed the FM radio a few years ago, at the same time the research for streaming compared to anaologue (FM) radio, and its effects on the human brain were released... Since the recall from Samsung, and since then they keep the FM radio, which is good for people in the end. Nice one SAMSUNG.

Battery life is getting better and better after each charge. Quite the same as OnePlus 5 (good, but not excellent). I believe the SOT is somewhere 5,5 h at the moment. Battery life is much better without WiFi for some reason. If I watch a lots of Youtube videos (which I do), the battery drains faster than in OP5. It doesn't matter me though, 'cause the display quality is fantastic and also the reason to fast draining. Only display I've seen better is on Galaxy 9. I really like this phone. 16:9 display is better for my eyes and the phone size in nice (shorter).

Bought it today. Quite happy so far. AndroidOne needed Nova launcher to get some more adjusting range. Screen is fantastic. Phone size is perfect, quite heavy though. Build quality is superb. Got bored to those too long 18,5:9 or 19:9 phones. Smooth. 8.1 Oreo right away. And best of all: I don't know anyone else using it. Hard transparent skin with the package is very ugly. Had to order some better stuff... No comments about battery life yet. Camera seems to be very fine after few test shots.

At first, the lack of 3.5mm jack was a deal breaker for me too. However, after learning that Nokia includes one USB C headset plus one USB C to 3.5mm jack adapter in the box, I decided to give it a go. The adapter allows me to keep using my favorite headphones. The USB C headset included serves as the backup. Besides, almost every corner shop is selling cheap USB C headphones now - so it might be time to move on now.

I just got mine. - The weight is 178g - The phone looks ugly as hell - a matter of personal taste of course. - When in the clear protective case that was included in the package, the phone looks even twice worser. The protective case stuck to the phone so well, I needed to use pliars to break it off and throw it in the garbage where it belongs. Other than that - the phone works nice and fast. I am still struggling thru the horrible Android interface to set it up. A new Android user. BlackBerry 10, I miss you so much. :(

Of late GSMArena has not been to it's earlier mark:- 1) The GSM Arena Specifications quoted Dual Hybrid SIM with SD Card Option, well it's not there in the phone. 2) Hand on review was done, but no data on Endurance Test. 3) The 12-MP resolution is only for 4:3 Aspect Ratio, for 16:9 it drops to 8-MP.

Got my Nokia 8 Sirocco, moving from Lumia 1520 (Windows) to Android. Great phone, first hand review:- 1) Charging Cable is too short. 2) Wireless Charing is slow as compared with Lumia 1520. 3) Rear & Front Cameras are 12-MP & 5-MP for an Aspect Ratio of 4:3 only. For Aspect Ratio of 16:9 (my favourite) the resolutions are 8-MP & 2-MP only.

This phone is hitting at Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL buyers. In India, prices are similar for these mobiles. Software updates are as fast as Pixel series. Can't complain about Nokia's build quality. Specs are very much similar. Just need to see if the camera will live up to Pixel 2's camera. It also has wireless charging which was missing in Pixel 2. So which is better now?. This would be an excellent choice at the price if it had SD845. Else it is just competing with Honor V10, Oneplus 5T(Crowd Fav.), Mi Mix 2 etc which are way cheaper.

Nokia 3 2018 would be nice if body size would stay 143.4 x 71.4 x 8.5 mm but screen would be 5.5 inch and have SD450 in it. 3GB-32/64 Nokia 5 2018 would be nice if it had same body size 149.7 x 72.5 x 8 mm but have 5.6-5.7 inch screen in there with no notch and just bezel stripe on top and bottom. Thanks for your input. Couple of things to point out though: 1) Apple uses LCD in all its phones - even the latest iPhone 8. The X is the only OLED. Oh, and the watch uses OLED. So just because they use OLED doesn't mean they think it's the best since they MUCH more heavily use IPS (even lately). Prior to the iPhone X launch, did you claim that LCD is better because Apple wasn't using OLED? 2. It's expensive Samsung _memory_ that Apple is paying for, not OLED. 3. Lastly, HMD put a P-OLED on the Sirocco. Maybe you already knew that and are referring to the other models. That said, I also prefer OLED and loved my Lumia 900's display. Super AMOLED is better - by far. I have a 2011 NOKIA Lumia 800 that still has a better display than most Chinese flagships today because of its AMOLED display. If AMOLED were not far better, APPLE would not be using it in its latest phones, paying SAMSUNG over 100$ per unit for it. Higher costs was the reason HMD did not use AMOLEDs in any of their new phones. Unfortunately, it is a very bad decision. AMOLED means longer battery life, true blacks, dark themes, always-on display and so on.

I'm using the S8 only for work scope, texting a lot of emails and messages every day. zero experience for games, because I have not installed anything. With edge display and in special tiny 18:9 ration, texting something or just do a call using one hand, is a big challenge and confusion. To understand this kind of experience, you just need to try it for a couple of days and not for quick test on shop before buy it. I don't want to buy another paperweight with edge display...... I still have it because is a double sim version, have a good camera ( but not great on auto focussing), and Qi charger, the battery is a disaster and Qi is a good alternative to keep it charged. Nokia 8 sirocco have a nice design, but once again the edge display........ I prefer to try it before buy

I think, it is because the Telephoto lens is not used much. That sensor does has it's purpose and that is not primarily for clicking pictures. It is used for the 2X zoom & depth effect. So, putting the OIS on the wide-angle primary lens makes better sense.

regarding your second point, Apple Iphone 6/6+ were made out of 6000 series Aluminum & had bending issues. People said it's coz of 6000 series Aluminum. If it had SD845, plus other supporting internals then this would be the best phone available, probable for 2018. Seems odd to release this just as others are updating their hardware. I understand that a Nokia 10 could be out later this year but who's going to pay a premium for last years tech, HMD need to consider the price and what the market will tolerate, Sony may be a better investment, although not as good looking.

The specification of this phone change daily. First it wasn't going to have any OIS. Now it has OIS only on the wide angle lens. I suspect tomorrow it will be only on the telephoto lens. I can't imagine putting OIS only on the lens that doesn't benefit from it. I can't imagine the 7 plus having a superior camera. I am looking forward to the review.

I think it goes without saying this phone won't be available stateside. And from the looks of it, the only LTE bands on board it support for AT&T are 2 and 4, missing 12 and 17, so that means VERY limited LTE connection :/

It could also be that sirocco was a bit rushed in its final stage. However the phone has been rumoured for a Long time now so it could have been that they wanted it to be launched earlier but they could not.

OMG people, just stop with the headphone jack already. It has an audio adapter in the box, you can put it in the USB-C port and use your old 3.5 jack headphones. Or you can use USB-C headphones directly in the phones port ... Or bluetooth headphones ... This is a luxury phone based on the old Sirocco line, stop comparing with all other phones. No buy! I'd go for the Nokia 8. It has the same processor plus a headphone jack which is a must for me and it is available for € 330,-. The Sirocco might looks a little better and might have a little better performance due to more ram and slightly better optics. But thats to little to compensate for the price difference and the lacking headphone jack.

Specs don't allways translate good in to reality. The 835 is a good CPU and they may release a plus version of the phone when 845 is available. Would be a reasonable thing to do. I bet the camera will be a well constructed and mics will have the best audio capture on the market. The sice is great to. Bigger phones are harder to handle and the only phone that can pull it off is notes cause of the pen. I think it is going to be a great phone even with lack luster specs.

Why make phone without document editing functionality? This is what sets iPhone and BB apart from others. Third party documents can never be as good as the native application. Thank goodness Samsung has just added this function in their Galaxy 9 and 9+ phones.

Well, the design is perfect. I wasn't in curved screen... But this is somehow okay (negligible). Its Nokia, so you won't have any complaints with its pricing, quality and performance! Not many features, but we can trust on Nokia. This one is a real flagship. Why should we choose s9, coz of it's tall screen? If the s9 has got a sd 845 then it's a deal breaker! I don't know exactly what processors they are using thing time. I would go with Nokia for now. Let's see what Sony brings in, doubtfully they will bring any improvements. They will loose the ground in hands of Nokia, Samsung, Huawei, Apple if they don't come up with a good solution this time. If they move the fingerprint scanner to somewhere else then sony is dead. Seems like No design improvements and innovation this time either.

140mm and 5.5in screen would be perfect for me, but the lack of a headphone jack is a deal breaker (unless i can find a low profile L shaped adapter) and curved sides look like they would have a ton of glare. Maybe Huawei will make a smaller version of Mate 10 (non pro)...

Here is the answer, it costs more because it’s made better. Compared to S9 it’s only lacking headphone jack, but it has superior build quality, 5.5’ in a form factor of iPhone 8 and it will run pure Android (same as Nexus devices were).

Anyone remember the Nokia 8800 Sirocco and it's pricing ? good!, I think some people are missing the point as they compare processors and note8,s etc. This is an 2018 Nokia 8 Sirocco edition. That means design and premium materials, so take that and the upgrades to the Nokia 8 and it'll be easer to understand the pricing of this. The SD835 is still great and the SD 845, won't be announced in most "flagships" at MWC, thanks in part to what happened last year, Samsung bought such a substantial amount of the initial crop of processors that companies would have to either release something with a SD835 (still great) or wait till later in the year. Wouldn't be surprised if Nokia releases one more phone later in the year perhaps with a 9 in the name!

Only two phones have ever had any significant problem with bending, that isn't anything to brag about. The P-OLED screen is good, but even the Nokia Lumia 1020 had it, so it's not remotely new for them. The Nokia Lumia 1020 had a significantly better camera as well. The Lumia 1020 was released 5 years ago (2013), so the only point you made that stands is the curved screen, which Samsung did last year in the Galaxy S8 with nearly the exact same specs that costs $300 less(probably dropping this week) and is bigger. There's also the Galaxy S9+ for the same price that is better in every single specification.
