When I tried to update it to lollipop it says insert usim skt to update. So I tried to remove the sim card and update it thru wifi. It got updated to lollipop but the problem was it cannot detect my sim now. It says insert usim card to access network. I got this one from my relative who was in south korea. Is it sim locked after the update? Please enlighten me. P.s. After searching on google I've read that it sim tray/slot can be damaged when excessive heat was present. During the update download and installation I've felt heat but not that much. Also, I was not able to see other people that had experienced this one. Please help. Thanks

I have this phone for 2 years now and still standing strong. Still a beast when it comes to gaming however, like most android devices, gets too hot at times when being used or charged. but other than that, its money well spent. :)

Thanks for posting your opinion earlier- quick question- I also have the S4 Active, but I'm constantly disappointed with the camera enough that I'm looking for the S5 Active, though it appears to not be that much of an upgrade outside of the camera. The specs show that this camera is updated. Can you confirm if there's a noticeable improvement in quality? I'm not a megapixel freak, but definitely the optics and sensor still leave something to be desired with the regular S4A. They were much better in the S4 and certainly better in the S5/S5A. Additionally, another reason I really don't want to get rid of my S4A is because of the Samsung Active Case- it's cheap and the best one available and protects better than any case I've used. Are the dimensions of the S4A and the S4A LTE-A the same enough that I can continue using the old case?

Don't buy it because for sturdiness. Water resistant design includes a charge port door , so every time you plug/unplug the phone the little hasp weakens and eventually falls off (1 month for me). This renders the waterproofing worthless and all you have is a thicker, heavier version of the S4. The At&T version comes with firmware that prevents it from being used to tether / hot spot even once the phone is unlocked. Battery life is the worst I've ever seen. Otherwise decent functionality

Bad phone! Not water or shock resistent, mine fell down from 50 cm on the floor and the screen cracked. I also experienced automatic wifi deconnection, and now it clicks itself anywere. Also battery life is very poor. Defenitly not worth the money I paid!!!! It was my last samsung phone!

My screen was damaged, whilst still under guarantee, however,I was told by Samasung South Africa (Jhb) that they can only fix the screen at my expense. This all whilst their guarantee says I have a two screen replacement benefit!!!!which I have never used....any advise/solution ???

Had the LTE-A model of the S4 Active for almost a week. My previous phone was the normal S4 Active which I still have with me. There are some minor differences with the software, and I liked the normal S4 Active configurations more... the option to turn torch on when you press the volume up button when on standby is gone and the app icons on lock screen is gone too. But in terms of hardware performance, the LTE-A is definitely a big improvement. Antutu score was a surprising 43.3k+ which according to Antutu is higher than HTC One M8, MI4, and even the S5. Phone is a bit lighter than the normal S4 Active, but not that noticeable. I also discovered that the back cover is not interchangeable as the camera on the LTE-A is bigger in physical size. The flap cover of the charging port has also improved a bit and easier to remove and put back on. Everything else is similar. I would recommend this phone to those who are looking for a rugged and waterproof smartphone.

I don't hear any click sound when I press the back cover below the led flash. And as I observed it, the seal battery lid doesn't have a lock-in material below the led flash unlike the international version. The manual shows though, there's no need to press below the led flash to fully seal the phone,however every time I open the aqua mode, a pop-up showing that the back cover below the led flash must be pressed. Now I'm confused if it's okay to use the phone under water. Have anyone here tried to take pictures or videos using this phone (s4 active LTE-A) under water?

from last 2 year i use Samsung s4 (root) but now i face a problem that i cant use differnt battery or extended battery.just when i put orignal it s work perfectly and charge also but as soon i put another battery and plug charger its start blink every second and cant start mobile (when charging is on) also if i remove charger pin it work perfectly in extended or dublicate battery so plz can you tell me what to its software problem (bz i use so flash custom rom or any other problem) or battery is of high voltage i try so much things like remove and intsert battery fast while charge different charger different code but all fail plz help me

Very very Worst Phone, not worthy for money,my previous mobile S2 Plus,i feel it is better than S4 LTE, only thing clarity is much better, very very laggy browser,worst battery life when using network,over hear during charging and using network, 2 hours battery life if continuously using internet,Poor LTE , no performance found when comparing with my previous phone, what is the use of Quad core, 1.9 ghz and 2GB RAM, totally waste of money, why samsung are not care about performance,

I got mine 2 weeks ago, expecting a regular S4 Active as I ordered from a dealer. Turned out to be an LTE-A model, 13 megapixels main camera and 2 megapixel front camera, and Quadcore processor . I for the color that I want - pebble gray... And they charge me for 1,600 SAR which is a bargain price for the regular S4 Active - sweet deal... Thank God :-)

Completely lost faith in Samsung Mobile's service with my S4 Active! This is an important story everyone should be made aware of: I drowned the �waterproof� phone, which is easy enough to do if the removable back cover (which seals the unit) unclips partially due to a fall � I accept this was my fault and I don�t expect a warranty claim. BUT at Samsung�s service centre � don�t expect Samsung to repair it, open it, or even look at it. They are not bothered. Samsung�s SOLUTION: They can SELL ME A NEW PHONE CHARGED AT FULL PRICE, minus a discount for the battery as I can use my old one. Samsung�s EXCUSE: �They are not allowed to open it to repair it as they�d disrupt the seal and void the warranty", even though THE WARRANTY DOESN�T COVER FOR WATER DAMAGE ANYWAY!!! Great Samsung, way to treat the customer! It's obvious where your focus is: $$$

Since Snapdragon 800 is the only chipset supporting LTE-A currently (2014-02-23) this model got upgraded to S800 from S600 and 13MP camera bonus to compete with LG and Pantech. Yup..From the day I got my Active, I knew that flap was gonna come off. And it did, by my unplugging the phone from the charger. But its my fault? Seriously? Not just that but the cheap ass Sammy flip phone my buddy has has a wayyyy better flap that pivots instead of that crappy piece of rubber that holds ours. Amazing all the reviewers never pointed this out. Still love the phone however!

Yesterday my screen went black. When I returned it to ATT at a warranty service center I was told the warranty is void, because the plastic cover for the USB connection came off. I believe this was a design flaw, most of us charge out phone daily from normal use the plastic came loose. Shame on Samsung! Fortunately since I have been a customer of ATT for over 25 years the office of the President exchanged my phone for a Note 3.

13 MP instead of 8 MP Camera brings this phone in my range of interest. Hope they improved the sealings that there are no more water damages like with the "old" S4 active. Poor thing that water damages are not covered by the guarantee. Change this Sammy, please! I want to have Ant+ to connect my Garmin Virb Elite Camera. Does someone know if this phone (or the former version: I9295 Galaxy S4 Active) also gets the ANT+ standard? And how this depends on a future Android 4.3 update?
