Nokia 9 PureView - User Reviews

  • Which model number have you ta-1082 or ta-1087

  • I owe the device more then half a year now and do not have the problems you listed. I dropt it very hard more then two times (luckely i have a tpu case over it so the glass is intact). Maybe your device is defect i would take it back if all you say is true.

  • Go for Nokia 8.1. Guaranteed you will like it. I have for more than 6 months now and I'm very satisfied. The Low Light is very good even without light you can shoot pictures and it will appear very clear because of the Flash. The Finger Print is very fast and the same with the Fast Charging. Majority of my friends chooses my Camera when we are taking the pictures because of its Clarity. This is a Robust Camera and the only thing I can say about the down is, it is very slippery. So, go ahead and buy the Nokia 8.1 and you will not regret it. I might buy again another 1 as my second phone :)

  • The camera was fantastic, as Nokia promised. They seem to have forgotten that cameras aren't the sole ingredient to a great smartphone, though. The USB-C port was made of plastic and either got loose or broke internally after less than 3 months of use. No huge drops happened in that span, mind you. Leaving the phone plugged overnight is no guarantee of waking up to a fully charged phone. There have been instances when the phone lost its power connection in the time it took to increase the battery charge by 2%. While we're on the topic of charging ports, it feels worthwhile to mention that charging only works when the USB-C cord is plugged one way and not the other. This is very, very strange give that the format was supposed to be symmetrical to alleviate the old hassles of the microUSB standard. There aren't any issues with the charging cables, as they charge my Huawei Mate 10 Pro, USB-C powerbanks, Samsung S10+, and even Lenovo laptop just fine. LTE bands doesn't seem to be fully world-compatible, on the other hand, with the data connection freezing every half hour or so with the telco companies I have SIM cards for. Bought one for the camera, ended up hating it for everything else.

  • No sign whatsoever yet, maybe MWC 2020.

  • Your are wrong nokia already way a head

  • after a good camera features missing xenon flash! its better to buy one dslr camera. need to improve.

  • Nokia 9.1 ???

  • Update to Android Q coming this quarter.

  • all phone can perform well if you just know how to use it properly.

  • They have their place, just not in highend market.... for the moment... but you are right, they are going backwords, but not because of competition, just because of them and european pride, no sellout, no cheap crapp. Apparently, people this days really do not care. So, hmd should get slower and keep their market happy and not attaking the "big" ones, they have to little money for that and they loose to much to be worthy.

  • Most of best phone brands are launching very good and improved devices, and I think Nokia is falling behind. It would be good if they began to leak details of the next Nokia 9.1 because trying to find a place in the current Android market is very very difficult.

  • I think not until MWC 2020.

  • Not that I know of, but I wouldn’t expect a flagship phone before MWC.

  • Any piece of news about next Nokia 9.1 Pureview ???

  • Their is a live chat you can do with them quite fast actually, they responded me in about 5 min. But well, that does not mean, those people know what they are talking about. Their is also thos Nokia app and actually is quite a big comunity that helps eachother a lot. There ypu can find out if the problem is comun or unique, and sometimes the HMD people talk in there too. The problem with people this days, is that they think, just because HMD hires someone, it means they are perfect in every way. HMD are a very new brand, they hired people they tought are good, well, you can't see that until at some point in time in the next years to come. Support team has a lot to learn. An example would be me contacting them (was an indian guy) and noticing he knew pretty much nothing, and was not showing he gives a f... if you know what i mean. I actually do not understand that, when i apply for a job, i actually know something and can help people if that the job is all about. But a lot of people this days just apply to have a job. I enconter this with microsoft, with apple, and i'm guessing they are everywhere. Well, at the end of the conversation he had to send me a questionary to tell HMD if i am satisfied. Well, i do not know if the guy still works there, but if he does, he should learn more then just: Turn it of and on again. As for the camera, the background saving you will not actually notice but only battery depleting faster and device getting a bit hot when taking a series of pictures at the same time, let's say 10. He can do it, but onwe notices the cpu can't process so much information in such short time, without going turbo mode. It is just to moch info. Mayve they will reduce the information later after some processing updates, and am pretty sure it will get bettet and better with the time. But to get this one to a milliseconds backgrpud saving, won't be the case here, but only maybe if it had 2 cpu's, something android can't do but symbian could. Hnche the best camera phone ever with a dedicated camera cpu. The mighty 808

  • I could live with a "crappy" fingerprint sensor (only if a face unlock/iris sensor is crazy fast) but I definitely can't live with a very slow processing of photos.

  • What I mean about "support" is after sales support and what they call customer service e.g. how easy to find "Help & Support" or discussions/forums on their website, effective and immediate help via their chat service, the turnaround (how long they respond) to email support, warranty issues - what they cover, sending a phone for repairs/checkup/diagnostics, etc. This is what I mean by Support. N.B. Lenovo-Motorola, Samsung, Apple & OnePlus all have a Twiiter Support account which vastly helps customers for quick help & advice. Nokia/HMD doesn't have any.

  • P.s. let's not forget this device will receive android 10 and 11 and costs just areound 550€. At this price you can buy only chinese crapp. So at this point, even with an experimental finger print reader, is woth all the money, design, quality and speed are all there to make it's user feel comfortable.

  • Your question was fingerprint and camera, and it was answered not a long time ago again and again. But if you want it personal: Fingerprint reader is not good and will probably never be (without a protection.glass will work way better, but still not somethingvto write about. The camera is pretty damn good, the backgroud saving is still the same. Some improvements might come with android 10 but i do not expect crazy fast, just cause their are a lot of mpx to be worked on. After all this is a pureview and it shows. As for support? I do not know what that supposed to mean. Updates are comming, bugs are crashed new systems are installing, so what kind of support you mean?

  • I don't think I did find a definitive answer. And I'm hearing of Nokia's reputation of poor after sales customer support. Perhaps it is region-dependent but who knows but it is something a bit troubling and worrying.

  • If you read the last 15 comments you will find an answer

  • I am looking to purchase the Nokia 9 Pureview. But I have read more negative issues than positives. Until the latest update. The July update (ver 4.27C) supposedly included performance updates to the fingerprint sensor and the processing of photos. May I ask anyone if the actual speed of the fingerprint sensor and processing of photos has improved incrementally (maybe 2x better), much much better (3x or more faster) or the improvements is almost non-existent? Any thoughts and comments please?

  • Yep, the power of stock android and Nokia together😊

  • I think from last one year I am using Nokia 6.1 ( India ) , much better then I expected I Know little slow for gamming but overall very good perform, hatsoff performance battery and android all functioned well

  • Stock Android makes a whole lot of difference, especially in lasting performance. My Nokia 8 that is now almost 2 years old is even faster then it was at the beginning while the battery did not really changed. It is used by my sister and will probably last for another 2 years. But I think this is also a bit of luck. Anyway, if you are used to a flagship, you will feel a bit of slowness in midrange's guaranteed. Even though, Samsung and it,s system are not the best in performance. I my self, do not support Chinese Brands... So, if this Nokias are not for you, I would say something that.s not Chinese and has a stock android, that supports it for more then 2 Month's. Maybe the pixel or a higher end Motorolla? I Don,t know, i stay with the 9, is too good to be light:))

  • I think because of the various issues associated with the 9 Pureview (and being a "first-gen" 9-series/class of phones) i have decided to skip this phone and perhaps wait for the 2nd-gne one. Now, I am slowly turning my attention to the Nokia 8.1 and the still "class-leading for price-for-specs ratio" Moto G7 Plus. I am in my 40's and i do not want the latest & greatest anymore. I just want something that works for me and one that I can be proud to use everyday. I had my Galaxy S9+ for 3 months now but let's face it. Despite being an old flagship it is showing it's age. I have pinpointed (not exactly nitpicked) things that i do not like anymore with my phone. The 26mm wide angle lens on the rear camera sometimes just doesn't cut it any more. The selfie camera (with all its specs) are for my standards "atrocious".The phone is starting to show more signs of errors (SIM-card not inserted), battery life ain't that good any more (despite having the same number of apps for 12 months running now) and the One UI still feels sluggish in times of when you needed it most. Almost everything else i like the phone. So, with that said does a near-stock, midrange Android like the Nokia 8.1. and Moto G7 Plus be a good "fallback" if you like and still be a good daily driver? Or invest a bit more and go for something like the OnePlus 6T? That is the million dollar question.

  • I also had a lot of doubts before i got my first Nokia android. Not because of the phone, but because of the system. I started to proper use android in 2017 when i bought nokia 8. It was a hard decision, again.because of the system. I would not buy any other brand, first because of priciples and second, again, the system. I hate bloatware, and i hate to have to brake my warenty and security just to get rid of it. In symbian era their were a lot of things one cloud do without "getting rid" of security, uninstalling everything was one of them, but well... I hardly turned to android, cause well, rhere is nothing left, so i wanted a system as empty as their can be, on a device that i actually want to support, i like and has enough strenght to handle my... let's say, way of handle it. Also a device that takes stelar phone calls. I do not like social media and use it very rarely, if i want to say something, i make a call. And at the end, a good camera. All of this criterias are mostly done, just by Nokia, i wanted to try Blackbery (great security features) but they are to expensive for the hardware and the camera sux. So i went back to my good old Nokia, that never dissaponted me, and if i ever had a problem with a Nokia, i would have taking it back and take another, the same model...cause i am stubborn. And that one would be great. As for turning back to nokia 8.1 and 7.2. I really think HMD stopped not using watter proof a long time ago. Nokia 8.1 definetly has it (even though gsmarena does not wright about it) you can actually find videos with it merged in watter on you..tube. For nokia 7.2 we have to wait. But i have a fealing would be a nice gift for a family member this year.

  • Sorry, i do not have an adapter to test ti.

  • I really wanted to "like" Nokia phones. BUt i just wish they have some protection against the everyday elements. And I am not talking about IP rating with proper waterproof capabilities. I admire Motorola for getting out of their way to include some form of coating that can class their phones as "splash resistant" because let's face it...basic protection against light rain or accidental water spill should be a feature made common. If the Nokia 8.1 or 7.2 is splash resistant (i am aware the 9 Pureview is IP-rated so that's ok) then I would go for them in a heartbeat. Perhaps I will have to wait for the 9.1 or 9.2 phone.

  • Docking is standard on Android these days, I"m not sure if Android One support HDMI since Google wants to market Chromecast (obviously!). Could you please see if it works?

  • I have not used hdmi on it, but it supports docking: mouse keyboard and so on, so probably video output also, but i do not guarantee.

  • Never head problems with shutter speed. It take them quite normal, at acceptable speeds, no complains there. But the background proccessing takes some seconds, a problem that will not really solved, at least, i do not think it will be solved to 0 wating, cause well, after all it processes more then 200000 pixels before the actuall pic comes out. The fingerprint will also not really be solved because it is a first generation one, and well, they are not quite good. Without protection glass will work better but I actually never used a fingerprint reader, so for me, that is not a Problem. If for you this are a problem, then better go for 7.2. Is not the fastest on the market, but it has some pretty cool features, a bit mire battery and a good camera.

  • Does it have USB Type-C with HDMI support?

  • Ok let me elaborate if I haven't. The issues that I have heard consistently are these: 1. Slow fingerprint sensor (you have to either press on to the screen a bit more or you have to press more than once.) 2. Slow shutter speeds - the actual process of taking one photo and then taking another photo thereafter 3. Processing of photo - the phone takes too long with processing/saving the photo regardless of the format. Comments please?

  • So, have they fixed the slow shutter speeds (the actual speed of taking a photo and the time you need to take another photo) and the very slow processing of photos regardless of the format?

  • Well, i also do not believe in trolls. I believe in me. You probably are not to often in Nokia comment sections, otherwise ypu would know what i am talking about. As for the planet and internet, well. Apparebtly i know about them bouth, as far as i can see, i am actually connected to a network that's connected to another, that's connected to another and so on. Yeah, some call this "Internet". As getting back to Nokia, i was saying: i do not know what you've heard, you can elaborate. In the same time, for some a problem might be the "hell" while for others means nothing. The fingerprint reader would be one good example. I use my phone for work, automation and information and taking some pics everytime i go visit something (yeah the battery is not stelar when hitting it with the camera, but am used to that, minding the fact i used the 1020 and the 950XL. The battery would be the only problem i have, but then again, i had this problem with all devices i have ever owned, apparently their is none to hold for 1 week....sarcasm.

  • Most of them are gone or less bad, so still not perfect how it should have been for most people, but it's working now without issues through the day. My personal phone is the Nokia 9.

  • I am torn between 2 Nokias: the 8.1 & the 9 Pureview. I'm downgrading my Galaxy S9+ to a more reasonable and modest phone. I need to find a phone with a slightly wider angle front & rear cameras, something with decent/above average night photos (with somewhat less noise), a decent/above average 2-3x zoom (with somewhat less noise), natural-looking photos and not oversaturated, a "loud enough" stereo speakers (75dB & above), fast updates (similar to Android One) and a camera that has decent/above average dynamic range (less overblown highlights on the background like sunlight or artificial indoor lights). Les buggy software and safe in light rain or splashes would be an awesome too. Comments and advice please.

  • First of all i don't believe in trolls. Those were termed by people who thinks some other people are a nuisance. Secondly, I don't know which planet you came from. The internet has been around for years and you just have to Google the various issues associated with the phone. Yes to each their own. But if 9 out of 10 people are complaining about it then that is something serious that has to be addressed.

  • First of all, what issues? I have no issue with mine. Camera takes photos, the battery hold for a day, the phone is smooth as a butter, not even once, dissapointed me. The background saving does not bother me too much. The rest of the negative, i do no not know what you have heard, but welll... trolls, that practically all they do is push crappy chinese devices against european. Well, to each his own.

  • I have heard so many negative things and various issues/bugs with this phone especially pertaining and almost exclusive to the camera and the usual performance and battery life issues. Can someone please tell me if all those issues have been ironed out and resolved somehow?

  • Yes it does. Swipe down the top menu to middle of the screen. There's a menu option called cast. If it doesn't show up immediately, then swipe to left.

  • Someone please confirm whether it support Miracast/ Screen Mirroring natively ?

  • Dears, Nokia 9 or LG V35? and Why?

  • Working to samsung?

  • I usually get 6 to 7 hrs

  • Then they have either the wrong specs or they sell Chinese copies of the phone which are fake.

  • Only you. That is practicaly imposible. But only if they sell knock offs

  • Nokia 9 TA- 1087, Is this Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Octa-core CPU orQualcomm Snapdragon 845? Some sellers are selling nokia 9 with Snapdragon 660 octa-core. Anyone know about this?

  • Yeah right. Well, i have Nokia 8 and Nokia 9. While the 845 in Nokia 9 CPU should be saving a bit more battery then 835 and the fairytale you are talking about would be true (a bit of dark here and there) with a 3340 battery vs 3000 nokia 9 should last longer on webbrowsing and everyday tasks. Still it doesn't. On the contrary. Nokia 8 almost 11 onscreen browsing, nokia 9 max. 8. And the story continues. As i was saying, amoled to be trully in saving mode, there has to be no color whatsoever, nothing so the real lack of light = pure black everywhere, That would probably bring Nokia 9 at the level of Nokia 8 battery life, but only probably. So, you go with what you believe in your way, i go with experience on my way.

  • there is definitely some battery saving present. i compared the battery life on my lcd phone & amoled phone (with same battery capacity) while having a black based live wallpaper. on my amoled phone, its battery sure as heck lasts much longer than my lcd phone's battery. amoled is frankly much easier on the eyes in the dark too.

  • Oh, you don't say? Well show me a pure black UI in android and i show you LCD lasts way longer.just because there isn't any, dak is not blak and all screen will light up. You're welcome

  • No true. LCD screens are not battery efficient as AMOLED screens, for one simple reason, blacks on the LCD does not power off your screen dots, whereas it does that on the AMOLEDs, so AMOLEDs would be better in power saving if used correctly.

  • Well I have had Nokia for a number of years and Windows phones right up until last weekend when I purchased the 9 PV. Prior to this was the 950Xl prior to that was the 1020. Photos on this are pretty dam good not sure if they reach the 950XL though. Fingerprint ID I don't use and probably never will so don't care about that. If more apps had been available for the Windows phones I would have stayed with them Android SUCKS beef burgers. Things as simple as putting in pin number then having to press tick, Windows entered pin phone unlocked. Only had the phone 5 days and pretty stoked with it. I sometimes wonder if some of the Mainstream reviewers have really spent any time with the phone after it went to production or If they were only bale to get pre production models or do they just read other reviews then print their own version of what they have read

  • Depending on Brightnes, Network and what you are actually doing with it, somewhere betwenn 4 and 8 Hours, screen on without a break. Not that long lasting as nokia 8. But as i always said, lcd is overall lighter on.battery then Amoled...

  • can somebody tell what is the "Screen On Time" on this device ?

  • No micro SD card slot in 4K video recording Era is a big mistake. That's why Nokia is still struggling nowadays. This phone should be a 'temporary' flagship for Nokia, but they failed to achieve the expectation of consumers of that segment.

  • Seems to have average battery life according to my fren. I would kill for 4000mAh android one (not mi a3) phone with this specs. At moment I am using worse battery life phone Honor View 10. After coming from Lenovo P2 Honor V10 was a total letdown. Currently looking at Mi 9T Pro but it's not Android One.

  • One phone with 5 cameras but it takes only one image photo this is one of the worst phone Nokia have ever build

  • Lol now tell me do your phone with 4000mah battery lasts long for a day with 5 camera working together and using lot of AI algorithm to process it later to one image to get all the required detailed image. You brand should have that ability to optimize the battery and Nokia have stock android without bloatware those 4000mah is really less as compared to the brand you referring with bloatwares which have many background services running daily which ofcourse consumes more battery. See the real capabilities of Nokia 9 posted by real users on twitter with #nokia9pureview hashtag see the true to the life color quality you will never ever get it on any smartphone atleast on daylight.

  • But you owe this phone? Yeah right. Actually besides the background duration, the camera is crazy good.

  • I'm using the Nokia 9.. Camera is acceptable with options to amend the layers and resolution only after the shots. I think the Lumia 950XL was the best camera phone with Zeiss optics, the only advantage with the 9 PV is the number of cameras. I understand Nokia have invested so much time to come up with the right recipe that combines the hardware and software to have one of the best cameras, up to some time. What I don't understand is why HMD could not continue on what Nokia/Microsoft has reached to, and seems they are starting from the mid way, even after 3 years of work and the launch of highest specs Nokia 9 Pure view. Even when Nokia was falling, they were leading in the innovations and was the pioneer in many features which other manufacturers copied right after, including wireless charging, Iris scanner, Type-C Charging plus their leading footsteps in owning the richest navigation app "herewe Go", which they had it open to all platforms. From my observation, all the manufacturers now are investing in the cameras and its the major key feature in every model they launch. So when it comes to camera, now Samsung and Huawei are leading, followed by Apple.

  • Youp, the fingerprint is all sorts of crapp, but lucky me, i never used fingerprints in any device till date (securit/privacy resons) but as you said, their is another reson why people buy this device. The same for me, but i also bought it because i love it's unconventional design language that actually separates it from the rest in a splitsecond. All others look the same, one has no ideea what they are, a lot of them copied n9/ lumias design language or camera design language but none will copy this. This is uniqe in every way.

  • The not so well working fingerprint scanner doesn't scare me off, I can't wait to purchase this phone. I am very much looking forward to use this phone's camera. I need this phone in my Nokia collection, certainly if I already have N8, 808 PV and Lumia 1020. I would have loved a white color variant though, but this blue looks pretty cool as well. Had my hands on with a Nokia 9 once and it feels great in the hands. The back is so smooth with these 5 camera's.

  • I do not know how s10 is but s6 was as watterproof as a papper pocket.

  • Does this support HDMI output natively? I know Galaxy S9 has Dex, what about Nokia?

  • Samsung Galaxy S10/S10+ would like a word with you...and those have IP68 instead of 67 so that argument has been debunked (then again, it has been since the Galaxy S6).

  • The problem with jerry, and a lot of people is the fact that they act like they know, but in reality they do not understand. Yes, their is place for the jack... well, sort off, on the same time HMD never claimed..their isin't! But...a big but...to get a high watter proof rating you need to get reed of holes. With that socket is almost imposible to keep water out, without a lot of struggle, which does not pay off, this days...and even so, the less holes, the better watter resistance, so get over the "let's comment" idiology! If you want to secure a device against water, you build it with the leas oppened holes as possible, and whoever wants to komment about it, i can take this way further, to firewalls, to whatever.... security comes with a price. Yes, they would probably be able to innovate something to keep water out through that big whole, but why will they struggle when their are 1200€ devices that actually sell and didn't.

  • perfect phone

  • These IS an awsome phone I would have galdly stated that if they launched it before snapdragon 855 or when they did they put it max max 520$ After Jerry open up these baby There was room for a 3.5 jack yes u read it right A 4500mha battery And ois camera With performed depth sensor and 48main one +18+12+8+8 Both 8 for détails and 12 for image stabilisation and 18 depth sensor and 48 ois with wide angle. And 8gb RAM with snapdragon 855+ 6.3 screen Fhd+ or 2K then its.a Killer phone (900euro max )

  • This is a great phone. Once you get the update installed and you get things set up, then it works pretty well. I agree that the fingerprint recognition isn't all it should be, but that's not why you are buying this phone. The pictures are just great, and show that Nokia still hasn't lost it's mojo.

  • i see nothing pooor about it, but i see poor information in people trolling it. Just a CPU and a sensor does not make a device, so i see no reason as of why will this one be a bad flagship. The only thing bad about it is GSMarena letting all kind of useless comments in.

  • After the poor device that is nokia 9 PV nokia do realise that they need to up their smaprtphone game. Nokia 9 PV is a bad device whoch is the flagship of nokia. But I'm afraid that nokia will mess up again when they gonna launch the next Flagship which is Nokia 9.1 PV.

  • Waiting for next Nokia 9.1 Pureview so excited ...

  • Hi, I have recently bought this phone after reading/seeing so many reviews. You have to get used to how it works and then it will be the perfect phone. The camera is absolutely amazing, the phone can be used for everything. The fingerprint sensor, it could be better, but as I said, you have to get used to it, experiment how it works and you won't have any issues after it. Great phone for a great price (with recent discounts..). The great joke is that these new flagships (Huawei p30 and s10+) are not even matching a lumia 950xl with respect to the camera (or coming close). Bad thing that there no more windows phones...Android is still crap: many fency features, zero consistency.

  • You know, there are two kinds of people, the ones that talk because they have experience (very few) and the ones that talk nonsense having no ideea what they are talking about, but just repeating randomly what they've heard. The pureview actually has a 3320MAh battery, not that is much, samsung s10 and almost all flagships till date have kind of the same battery. It has slow motion and records with bouth back or front cameras in UHD 4k and UHD 4k HDR. The TOF camera is for mesuering the deph, it is actually quite important and the "just a bunch of 12 mpx cameras" are actually quite a very interesting tech that can.be highly developed and tweaked. This device can mature and will mature with updates comming. And overall it shuts quite at an amazing quality. The cpu? As others already said, the device was not developed in a 1 week, it actually took a bit to much for this days to push out the market. But sd 845 is a quite powerfull cpu and i see no reason why would hmd pack an 855 strongly crippeling their development. It is actually a great balanced device.

  • the 845 chip was used because it took so much time for R&D to calibrate so many cameras to that chip and so when the new chip came about it wasn't practical for Nokia to upgrade to that chip if they were to meet their deadline

  • Nokia 9 pureview is a real joke; 3200 mAh ,that only competes with iPhone because every other flagship is rocking 4000 mah and above with barely any other below that. 2nd, SDM845: What is that doing in a 2019 flagship?! 3rd, practically useless cameras: I generally feel it is just a bunch of 12M cameras stuffed on it together with a tof lens and doesn't even support 4k60fps or slow motion video support considering the number of cameras. Kee in mind the €600 price tag. Go for a mi 9 or a OnePlus 7 (non-pro)

  • SDM845 in 2019 evem considering it's supposed to be a flagship, Vivo IQOO neo is the only one with a good reason to have an 845, no 4k 60fs with all thise cameras or even slow motion support AND still has big bezels in 2019. Keep in mind that this is a €600 phone

  • It's amazing phone

  • Please update your phone properly

  • What you want in camera more in device

  • What is bad in this device please describe

  • Yeah, do not even go for any of those pupup over night brands, huaway should be the lowest you go. As for samesung, they stepped up their game a lot with the last 3 major releases but still, that dragging bloatware software is....meah. you welcome.

  • Better gofor One plus 7 pro or samsung galaxy s10 if you want a android.. Nokia 9 pureview is pretty bad device. You can compare the specs on gsmarena and fine how bad device nokia 9 PV is..

  • Nokia is the only company to launch the worst flagship of the year 2019 and relay on offers and discounts to boost its sales.. Hopefully they gonna learn and launch better flagship next time.. even the camera is not so good.. its is clearly comparable to other flagship cameras.. then whats the point nokia?

  • I bought this phone and are in many ways disappointed. A simple thing as adjusting volume level on SMS/MMS notification is not possible. Have also had problems with adjusting sound level during telephone calls when using headset connected through the adaptor that follows the phone. The panorama shots come out awful. Stillpictures are all right though and music playing is excellent. But it seems like the Nokia 808 and 1020 era is over.

  • Have you tried to reconfigure the fingerprint after tge software update? I had to reconfigure it and it's much better now

  • Thanks for the answer. I m currently using nokia 8 since last more than a year and I wanted to check for apple. But considering the high cost iphone devices carry I dont want to invest so huge in something like just phone. Of course there are certain options available like one plus but I dont prefer that.

  • What do you want? What are you used to? If iOS well, then you will probably find Android overly complicated and throw the blame on the device it self. If you have no experience but like freedom and like to modify settings and everything possible, go for android, if you like stable and just work (like a future phone) without modifying or playing arround, and do not understand to much software, go for Ios. Now, Nokia 9 vs Xr. Well, nokia 9 ist just at another level. Has a way better screen, finer design (of course here people cand discuss till tomorrow, i actually love nokia's 9 design, it is crazy nobel and just diffrent from all the slabs out there) has real fast charging, no gimmik at the charger, cheapper, crazy quality camera. The cpu is faster on xr, but that's not to be seen in real usage but only if your purpose is heavy gaming, probably xr will open them games faster, but battery is a must, and neither have excelent battery life. I would never invest in apple ecosystem because of many reasons, i never wanted android ider, but well, this two won the sheeps and their is nothing else to choose from. But at the end is your choice, between the two you can't go wrong, but only at the os level, with not that great of a screen xr and ugly design...xr.

  • Can anyone suggest me which phone is good Iphone XR or Nokia 9? I am confused.

  • My time to process images has been much improved.

  • Nokia 9 supports widevine L1 but still not able to stream content on netflix in full HD. utterly disappointed

  • I received the update a few days ago. I reset my phone after installation and have been testing the updated software. For me the fingerprint recognition is worse and the camera crashed twice. Disappointing

  • You pretty much summed up what i am trying to make the mass understand, you have no chance, don't worry. It is pretty much imposible to talk sens into people.

  • Then the price will be even more but my question why do you wan't 5G now as since network company not even installed 5G on their server and still there are 1-2 years to start the 5G rollout and even if you have Snapdragon 5G chip now what is the guarranty that it supports your network with newer or enhanced 5G chipset later?. Even heard on current 4G era some networks doesn't support some bands and yet the 5G chip now is the waste if they don't support it later.

  • Am enjoying my coffee

  • lool :D 99 cams looks like something dangerous

  • I have received the update, I can say the fingerprint is much better now, not the best or fastest but definitely much better than before

  • Bla bla bla not needed.

  • You don't say? Gotta admit, you described yourself to 100%

  • Bjt not needed

  • Bet carol has nothing much to do in their life so he/she just spend time in here at gsmarena and read comments and talk lots of crap . This dude seriously need some counseling and a Life. LoL

  • Has anyone else received the system update? Besides Carol?

  • Example received.

  • Wow, highly intelligent remark.

  • i need an smartphone record to music performance (recording audio only, and recording video) Is Nokia the best audio recording phone with the ozo audio?

  • You seems to talk too much. Bla bla bla..

  • Good specs - love the Qi and camera BUT no SD - thats the dealbreaker ;(

  • Got a system update. Their should be stability improvements... anybody else?

  • And it will be better if 5g will not be launched at least for next 5-10 years

  • Look who's talking. At least i don't waste my time writing nothing in comment sections of devices i do not care about... 5g is the future alright, in about 5 years 4g will still be here. Wanna bet? So who's the nerd? Me or the technology sheeps who have no idea what they are using(you)?

  • Older design language and processor in the box.BTW, their midrangers are awesome.

  • It's not 4k.. it can record up to 4k videos... But the screen remains quad hd oled panel.

  • Why you need 5G now, 5G is not yet launched.

  • And you have no any other work but to just defend nokia poor devices.. 5g is the future 4g will be the past.. Just look at you you don't have any other work but to just reply and argue with other users who have their own opinions. Get a life nerd

  • And?

  • It's 4K phone

  • If you remember Windows phone.Nokia was the only brand who sold Windows phone in his shoulder.Windows phone got dead only after replacing Nokia branding. No one interested to buy Microsoft phone.Despite the very bad user experience of Windows OS, Nokia was able to sell Windows Phone.

  • still my best phone of this year and month. nokia is love

  • I actually live them. I live them more resonably then, as it seems, a lot of people here, and funny, i am.always up to date. Probably because i know how hardware works and well, am.not desperate for 3 mhz more in a situation where is not needed. do not care to hold on a technology that was not properly tested and seems that USA wants it too bad. Instead of just wanting something just because hey, is the trend, i actually do some research and go inside the technology just to see "why would i use it" and "how it works" "what is the difference". Just because i am not a technology sheep (oh it's new; let's buy it, it has 40 mhz more gotta be faster) does not mean i am not "living".

  • A few years ago 4G Network it didn't matter for the most people like you ... Please, live the current days and the future !!!

  • At least 5G? Is their anothet network nobody knows about? At the end, why would you want 5G so disperate? It will take at least another 2 years until it spreads. If it's not hold down because of the many issues it creates with wheather stations and other things they hide from the mass.

  • ******* When will unveil the next Nokia 9 Pureview with at least 5G network and some improvements like better fingerprint unlock, card slot and more power battery ??? *******

  • True but remember li-po is different than li-ion even tho ur phone is still probably li-po

  • I am disappointed in the battery capacity. My nokia 7 plus battery is better

  • Still waiting for nokia communicator, Android version. It would be the best business Android phone. It should be flat and sleek.

  • i'm loving this phone until now. the camera's that i'd been taken like almost the same as my dslr. i love shooting when i'm in manual mode. for me this phone is the over all best camera in a phone with advance algorithm on using 5 camera simultaneously. i congratulate the team behind it, the programmers good job.

  • That happened because was reviewed by mostly incompetent youtubers. But well...

  • I have the phone for more than 2 months now and I have to say it's just getting better. Software is super snappy, no lag whatsoever, android one is making the device smooth as butter. The camera is indeed a bit sluggish (especially if you always save both jpg and raw) but the quality of the images itself is just out of this world and the post processing capabilities are to die for. If you don't care about kitschy insta shots and rather enjoy a more realistic outcome, this phone is a perfect choice for you. It's really a shame how underestimated and overlooked this phone is.

  • I have always had nokia phones. They are durable and they have the best camera. Just saving money to get the purview 9.

  • Nokia was never zero. Zero was for kids that never knew what a smartphone actually is and tought having a touscreen ment smartphone... you i suspect...

  • i recommend:- nokia 9 for pro photography and editing skills, sd845 oneplus 7, 7 pro for gaming and camera, sd855 lg g8 for military build and best quality sound, sd855 asus zenfone 6 for 180degree rotating camera and 5000mAh battery, sd855 xiaomi black shark 2 for extreme gaming and liquid cooling, sd855 and you should look at these phones and nothing else

  • If you dont know how to capture good photos from this incredible phone give it to me dont waste and talk non sense.

  • Nokia was the best phone but when he started microsoft with nokia it become to Zero masg for Nokia come to 1 like you are in n8 n73 after this model all model become flop Now do best and make your own fast OS OPERATING system not with android your all desing is good but OS system is not best change Os style like a Samsung and make easy for use i will pray Nokia come to its old position NO 1

  • Nope, they bouth have the same network 4G. It is actually almost imposible to do it the way you think.

  • Both slots support 4G, 4G LTE mode, and Wi-Fi Calling -- but all are carrier dependent of course. This is the first Nokia/HMD handset with Dual-SIM and Qi Wireless charging. The fingerprint sensor works 100% IF you finger/thumb is not too dry. The camera software needs a major upgrade. Unlike all other HMD handsets, PV9 has not yet received the May Security update.

  • Looking at a dual SIM phone but looking at the specs I get the impression that SIM 2 only works on GSM /2G, no 3g or LTE. Is this correct?

  • 559 euro here with 50 euro cash back, so in total only 509 euro for this phone, thats a steal!

  • And your comment is faaaar from the truth, but hey, you're happy.

  • And the joke of the year goes too? This one. He can really joke it out loud... who need inteligence when you have guys like this. Bravo!. Now to get to th real stuff... there is a cage and it's gettin' smaller... yet... still bigger then some brains.

  • I'm going to be realistic with you, the S10e is better in quite litterely every way It's more powerfull, has a better design, a FAAAAR better screen, better cameras, is more power eficient, a better battery life even thoe it has a smaller battery, ONE UI is far smother then stock android and Samsung has FAAAAR better aftersale support

  • 950 XL vs nokia 9; just to show how much they managed to improve, if anything

  • Your's? Right.... That ain't nokia 9 what you are holding. it's the nexus 6p. Don't worry people confuse things a lot when it comes to nokia brand. Some of them have the sudden fealing they owe a Nokia and need to take it back, that fealing spreads among the same two people quite often.,

  • I have been using this phone for about 3-4 weeks now, simply awesome! This phone is the next in line, Nokia N8, Nokia 808, Nokia Lumia 1020, Nokia 9. The phone has android one so no bloatware. Fast updates, a very nice screen and good battery life. Never a phone gave me this much screen on time. Of course that is heavily dependable on the usage and the camera does eat extra power when using it thoroughly . The IP rating a bonus, but the best attraction is the camera, simply amazing. You need go get handy in using it but when you know how to use it, it definitely is superb plus the editing afterwards which you can choose to do is amazing. Only cons are the omitting of the headphone jack and the not always well responding fingerprint scanner. But for this price it is the best deal you can get right now so I recommend this phone.

  • This phone is a complete, utter fail. The fingerprint sensor recognizes about 1/10 touchs The camera's quality is in par with a four year old Nexus 6P. For a price tag of around $350, this would be a fair bet. Mine is going back tomorrow.

  • i was looking for phone with usb on the go. but it's ok. i still love nokia.

  • I wwouldn't go for onplus or xiaomi ider.

  • Buy this Nokia, for example. Chinese brands are going to be banned by Google and Nokia is free from that problems. And the performance of this Pureview is amazing.

  • Easily the one i would recommend is the oneplus 7 Pro as top choice. Huawei i wouldn't go as for now, until the ban is lifted. Xiaomi is another viable pick but the best one for me is def the oneplus 7 and oneplus 7 pro.

  • I would go for the Nokia 9, good screen, excellent camera, good sound and a nice design, especially how they incorporated the cameras to be completely flush with the rest of the back. Plus the extra addition in the form of Android One.

  • The pictures coming out of this phone are amazing. The selectable depth of field, reduced noise and HDR is worth the money. Plus, it doesn't take fake Moon photos, like the Huawei P30 Pro.

  • OnePlus 7 pro

  • good, better and best nokia

  • Now is when Nokia should punch the table and take advantage of the bad time that Huawei and other Chinese brands can have with Google, and start climbing positions creating phones like this Nokia 9 Pureview even improving them.

  • Its price must be cheaper very much . Its all main cameras must be 20 mp at least as selfie camera or better 50 mp. Must add a memory card slot. Battery must be removable to change it easily when expires until you make unexpirable battery . Nokia must restore its throne again. Thank you with my best wishes.

  • The only device i'd recomand over the Nokia 9 is the asus zenphone 6. The other two are meah. Why asus? Great value for money. Now... design is meah and i do not know how the overall quality of the device is (never owned an asus). But that device would probably be the only option i consider against nokia 9.

  • I need to buy a new phone, and I can not decide between Nokia 9, Mi 9 and S10e (on contract) (exynos). Can it be a recommendation, which would be my best option? The things that matter to me on the phone are: Camera, screen, sound and design. And that I can play a pubg on high settings: 3. Ofc you cam recommend me other devices in that price range.

  • LOL a user of a chinese company says Nokia is chinese. Why you people don't have time to research about a company and come here?

  • But HMD are a Finnish company. What's China got to do with anything?

  • You don't say? Tell me a company that has all it's devices at a perfect level, oh you the all knowing" one.

  • That's what you get from unreliable HMD. Bad quality control's, buggy software, and sending your private data to Chinese. Ok Enjoy it

  • Ok, thanks for the input

  • I haven't noticed any ghosting or retention on my display. It sounds like you might have a faulty unit.

  • Anybody here (besides trolls that do not have this device) encounter ghosting / image retention? The ghosting comes up after only a few seconds and then fades away. On a grey background is quite clear to be seen. Examples: in contacts app or massages app or when doing a call (when dark theme is applied) if one has icons on the descktop and uses a fast calling app (from so many) their is a retention of this desktop icons that slowely fades away. The navigation bar imprints it self on the screen also and it takes longer to clear up with every use. Anybody can confirm this?

  • Nokia 9 Pureview is a very innovative/brilliant idea, just has lazy execution. I think I'm impressed with the over design quality and structure of this device. No notch! With trimmed bezels, well done HMD! But I think the camera structure and arrangement is a bit worrisome and unattractive to some. They should have gone with a better camera design/set up - all cameras and TOF sensor should have been placed in a single big lens making it look like the 1020. They should have fitted One main/Primary 41mp+ Camera, 12mp - Monochrome, Ultra-Wide angle camera, Telephoto, Depth Sensor with a Toshiba/Sony sensor powerful enough to serve all cameras rather than 5 smaller ones. They should have featured OIS, EIS and PDAF for better stabilized and focused images and videos. They could have gone an extra mile with the battery considering the power consuming nature of the Camera Centric feature, and should have featured nothing less than 4000Mah which should powerful it up with the help of it's energy efficient processor for up to a day of intermittent use of the camera and should last atleast 2 days of average usage. Display is OK IMO, Not bothered by the so call "Old Processor" which is still more than capable of delivering to meet every Flagship standard. Now to the real world performance... Like I said Pureview is a wonderful idea but has a lazy execution ranging from hardware to software issue. I completely understand that putting all this together wasn't in anyway easy, working with Sony, Qualcomm, Light and Google to make this work, but what's worth doing is worth doing well. While there's being some mix results with the camera performance we can conclude that there are some highs and lows with the results. To enjoy the best image quality one has to go through the whole process of editing the RAW images in Light room which isn't all that pleasant all the time with the JPG images which had pretty unpredictable results most times. Another issue Nokia should have worked on was synchronizing the Processor with custom Camera Centric Processors to aid the Snapdragon processor in processing multiple images much faster, reduce the rate at which the battery drains and stop software crashes/lags. They could have made the Camera App more flexible and with wider options ranges and take better JPG images without the need to go through long editing processes. I think they can fix most of these issues with software updates with so far Nokia has been trying their best to work on. Nokia should really try harder if they wanna still in business cos most people would buy this phone just because of Nokia integrity with previous PureView devices and the overall performance of their devices. For their next device the most important features they should add are : FM radio, 3.5mm audio jack ( or if the Type C port can work for both Charging, FM radio and headset connection), Rear Camera : one main/primary 41mp+ camera, 12mp - Monochrome, UltraWide angle, Telephoto with optical Zoom, Depth Sensor Camera with a strong Toshiba/Sony Sensor, OIS, EIS, PDAFand Dual Xenon flash and a LED flash with a synchronized and well designed build. (we don't mind camera bumps), Secondary Camera: 20mp main and another for wide angle shots with a xenon flash. 4000mah battery, IR blaster, double stereo speakers, UltraSonic based Onscreen Fingerprint sensor, theuvcan used this same front design but reduce the bezels slightly, LED indicator, dedicated camera button and better camera app, latest OS and processor with a custom supporting camera chipset, 6" + screen with 18:9 aspect ratio, Ultra HD display and most importantly an affordable price. From A Nokia Fan.

  • I am happy for this phone. No notch, thin bezels. Great camera, but it doesnt hold a candle to the 808 PureView. The specs are last gen, but they are still fast. (Just because the 845 is old doesnt mean its now like the Intel 486)

  • Cannon or Nikon can you carry every where you go?

  • Great phone

  • Are you ok? They like the seven Dragon-Ball, make a wish.(for the buyer only)

  • ahahahahaha u killed me

  • Jesus Crist those cameras looks like from horror movie.

  • You don't say? So suddebtly are for communication? When 3 generations of iphones had no signal (you're holding them wrong) nobody complained about the very least a phone has to do, yet their you go commenting about a cameraphone.

  • Handling this phone is a pleasure, the design was beautiful, the screen is very bright and vibrant

  • If you want a camera, by a Cannon or a Nikon... Phones are for comunicate. Damn social media...

  • Here the price is 599 euro both online and in retail shops, it's a great deal. Only the OnePlus can compete with this price and specs, the OnePlus 6T that is, not the upcoming OnePlus 7 which will be priced way above 599 euro.

  • I had it in my hands yesterday and it feels very sturdy, Nokia quality. The camera's on the back don't add any bump, it's just smooth with the rest of the back, great job. The color looks darker in real than it does on the photos in my opinion but it looks good with the silver colored edges.

  • nokia please make the snapdragon 855 version with at least 4000 battery

  • Nokia and all mobile companies either you make lifelong batteries which never expire or you make removable batteries to change them easily when they are expired. Thank you.

  • Actualy, is quite the other way arround, it is way more accurate the the others, and that is why will lose. Cause people like vibrant and fake detail.

  • I think the Nokia 9 is the king of cameras in terms of depth of field. Nokia 9 has the potential to become the king of cameras on all fronts. Need further development especially on color accuracy, the Nokia 9 will lose in the blind test if the camera shots show less color according to the object. Too flat and less realistic. In my opinion, 'Pureview' is an interesting idea. How to produce photos according to what is seen by the human eye. So each photo should be an HDR photo, no zoom and have high detail results. Btw, comfortable mobile design in my opinion is Nokia 3, 5, and 8. On the back it is very ergonomic. Unlike the iPhone, front and back is symmetry. The design of Nokia 3, 5, 8 is very good and beautiful. And not symmetry. This point is very important because the design of the front of Nokia makes it possible to reach a low bezel cellphone without bending the screen. Oh, another Nokia should use a 21: 9 screen ratio.

  • great on performance, camera and design

  • It”s 600 $ on Amazon.

  • Isn't night mode using long exposure? That not always a good solution.

  • Before commenting have some time to view this full video see the details of every tree roots, details for shades of Statues, strawberry color and each and every details even on bokeh mode with true colors but except the ZOOM picture quality. I can agree Huawei P30 Pro is best in Zoom due to is Periscopic Camera but not on the details(without zoom) I like Nokia 9 Purity for real colors due to rgb cameras and Zeiss lenses and thats called #Nokia9PureView

  • Bro i am not talking about the quality only i am talking about the details too. Can your S7 edge even with tripod or OIS can give such details?

  • However, Nokia 9 PureView even with a theoretical better technology (co-engineered with Light), it can't beat Huawei's Night mode of the P30 Pro, P20 Pro or Mate 20 Pro (or even the Mate 30 Pro when it comes out). ..l.,

  • And yes, my Exynos S7 edge can reach such quality in low light like that one or even in a darker photo than that but with a tripod - I have not only 4, not even 10, but all the exposure time I want to select (Camera Mod S7). And, Mr. Bovine, my S7 edge has a Dual-Pixel camera with OIS so video quality is way better than Nokia 9's.

  • Didn't you understand that Nokia 9 PureView's camera app in Pro mode does NOT work? I've tried to switch values fr ISO and exposure time and it did do ANYTHING after taking the picture. Meanwhile Nokia 9 PureView has received an update but I don't know if it remains the same as before.

  • LOL have you seen this pic? just give-up man you don't know to take picture from this camera phone in low light Last question can your s7 edge can reach that high to take this picture? You can even compare Nikon DSLR camera on auto mode with your S7 Edge and still you can find your S7 Edge better because you don't know how to use those captured RAW parameters with this phone

  • Actually, do you know what is really "LOL"? Your mention to "unique RAW capturing phone". I've captured RAW photos at night on my Nokia 9 PureView and I didn't noticed any superior quality versus my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. Actually, Nokia is worse at night. It lacks my S7 edge's Dual-Pixel and OIS. However, the Nokia's Pro mode is really placebo - I've chosen several different values for ISO and for exposure time and it didn't do anything (it remained with the same values)! This is what I call "LOL"!

  • Nope, it does not have a card slot.

  • just for the software problem you are giving it back such a unique raw capturing phone LOL. U know there is a update yesterday which solves many problem including fingerprint problem have u tested now?

  • Guys i heard Nokia 9 PV have got the new update with many improvements including the fingerprint reader now works well with new fp registration system and some auto mode JPG problems are solved. Even the Camera switching modes is lot better What are your thoughts?

  • Phone just got update and issues with finger recognition and camera are resolved. Great job Nokia

  • I would like to ask if this phone support micro sd card in micro sim card slot? ( in dual sim version) I found where it says that it support micro sd card true or not? Maybe some1 have tried to put micro sd card in his second sim card slot?

  • This sound like bugs, yes, it's kind of has some in the camera department. I will hold on mine, because I know they will deliever. Updates and bug fixes will come. The hmd products really do get better by the time

  • I've experienced the same thing with camera's Pro mode. It feels like it is placebo. Because I took a picture with Automatic mode and the exposure time that was used was 1/33 seconds, then in Pro mode I've set the exposure time to 1/4 seconds and after the picture was taken the exposure time was still 1/33 seconds. The same happened to the ISO value. It really feels like it was placebo! I don't understand this. I'm disappointed with this phone, so I'm gonna give it back or sell it right away.

  • I own this phone for a week already, and still hesisate to keep it, or give it back.Cam app is totally unpredictibleI.Yestardey I tried to test it in low light. Cam set in "Pro mode".To do noisless pictures ISO set at 160 , camera on stand with timer set fo 3 sec.and assuming that camera will will measure the expositions began test.2 pictures was ok, I gave a device time to finish calculations after each shot, and after that all pictures totally underxeposed ( at the same parameters settings , the same light conditions).Strange things, but in gallery I saw the value of ISO like 2200 or somethin similar, but it is not important (maybe google gallery bug). What I am affraid of, is that exposure measurement in PRO mode faills, or doen's work at all. When i began to set time of exposision manually based on what I see on display , camera began to do correct exposed pictures. Can someone share similar experiences.Timer sound during countdown is heard only once. Next foto , no way. Application has to be closed , killed, and reopned to hear it again. And again just one time. What an unfinished product, without warranty that anything will be resolved soon. They propisem monthly updates, but still there is nothing

  • I do not know who this "photographer" supposed to be, but he ain't professional, that's for sure. Apparently he has no idea what focus means. And Nokia, has a lot of deph to it, one photographer has to know how to handle that, This wannabe just talks about nothing interesting and again, like all pyed reviewers, he compars it with a typical samesung or apple.

  • I actually like it, and those cameras schould be bigger, could make it even more interesting. Letting that asside, It is the only device whos back actually make a difference in the pool of copycats.

  • The camera result is very nice, plus, I like the design very much

  • Another one that talks not to shut up. You have no understanding of of what you're saying, yet you are saying it. A DSLR does not resume at better fotography, also a photogtaph does not resume at taking 'better pics', for an artist, to take better photographs it means to have a great idea in a second and make the scene happen. Not snapchat selfies. This phone can be suited for an hardcore photographer who never wants to loose a scene, even when he's dslr is at home. Of course, samesung and others could be also used but they do not have this tkind of proccessing abilities and the great detailed RAW files.

  • My wish is histogram and less sharpened jpg. Of course fixed buggy application (cannot connect to camera ) and finger sensor.Last uptade improve thesse things, but not fixed .

  • For those who know the pc cpu world this phone is like the old multicore AMDs - got better when more programs utilized multicore technology. The phone is buggy and the camera crashes far too often but it is capable of taking some stunning photos. And some horrible ones, especially in low light. Since camera phones are going the way of post processing and information is king in that world once Nokia keeps working on updates the N9 Pureview will get better with time. I chose the N9 over the Pixel (on sale) and the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9.

  • Yeah ... I will for sure believe that this Nokia makes better pictures than and enthusiast and professional level Nikon D750. Sure, buddy ... But lets see how many D750 users will switch their camera for this Nokia phone. Or lets see how many weeding photographers will sell their D750 and buy this Nokia instead. It shouldn't be a problem, if this phone makes better photos, isn't it?

  • Nikon D750 with AF-S 24-85 mm 1:3.5-4.5 G I'll do some new test with a better optic (AF-S 28 mm 1:1.8 G)

  • No SD Card slot. No audio jack. I'll wait for Nokia 10 PureView...

  • I would be interested in the evolution of this, that is, the next Nokia 10 Pureview, but this device does not. It has many things to fix.

  • The camera is too bad for slow feedback. I won't buy it

  • An old model..

  • Please, tell us, which model of full frame DSLR didn't match the Nokia's quality in your test. Why didn't you say it? Come on, lets hear it. Or are you just talking nonsense?

  • Anotherone that never touched this device, starts to talk.

  • Agree i had the 2012 808 pureviw and 1020 pureview. nokia 9 do not live up to its name. Tok som low light samples with my old 808 portait indoor with flash and the new nokia 9. 808 from 2012 the 808 was better sharp and crisp 38Mp.

  • This phone sucks, had it for a month and already traded it off for a phone which actually is worth the price. So slow, Ui has glitches, frequently crashes, camera sucks even though it has 5, and it totally is a piece of trash. I regret getting it in the first place, I guess a DEAD company can never make a comeback.

  • What? Way better performance with the same chip? Not only that you know nothing about hardware but keep talking bull... even tough you never tested this device. I do not need reviewers to tell me what is better, i can test and see it for my self. Especially that 90% from the reviewers have no idea what they are talking about, 0 experience and biased like the money. As of bazells, i am.not a sheep, i need usability and with a bit of bazells is actually way more confortable to hold the device with one hand, i use smartphones for working not playing crapitty crapp part two, snapcrapp or whatever the mass this days is driven into.

  • I literally just said the launch price. "Price was originally £499/AU$899 (about $700)" ("Nokia 8 review" TechRadar) The LG V30 launched for the same price, and the OnePlus 5T was hella cheaper, yet both were way better than the Nokia 8, in terms of performance and cameras. Second of all, learn to spell. Third of all, I never said I like notches. I hate notches. That's why I mentioned slider phones. And yes, almost everyone loves smaller bezels. If you want I could do a poll for ya. Lmao nobody wants outdated bezels, there's a reason we left those behind in 2016.

  • This phone is made specifically for the camera and to be more presicely the camera stills, and it delivers, well done Nokia for this great phone. This phone is awesome, looking good in blue though not the best looking phone, at least no notch and that is a very big thumbs up. Can't wait to get this one.

  • Another failed atempt by HMD.....I still don´t get them, WHY CAN´T THEY DO IT RIGHT?? Almost one year to develop this phone, and still, plenty of bugs..... For the price and if all was was working fine, could be a cheap and diferent alternative, ....

  • It is good quality camera, just compare it with Huawei P30 Pro and see it for yourself. It is the best a phone can yield now. You don't understand how a product is designed, it takes a long time until is sell-able, the design of this phone started when SD845 was not even released. Cheap flag ships like iPhones and Samsung take 9 months to design when nothing is actually new on it. This phone has a dedicated IC from Light dealing with the cameras. The software is not perfect now, but the potential is tremendous. This phone is not for the average user, it is dedicated to serious photographers that want to get good photos without 5-8kg of gear. I have an DSLR and 3 lenses, it is so heavy to take a whole backpack of 8kg in vacation.

  • USB on the Go adapter with a 256GB microSD card. Simple. Just plug it in when needed and move some pictures.

  • You are so right. I use it every day and I totally agree with you

  • The camera of the Nokia 9 is fantastic. The Jpeg have such a level of detail and high dynamic range that they don't need any additional post processing. They just show what I saw without any over saturation. The same detail, the same dynamic, amazing. A real dream for a photographer is coming true. I have done a test taking pictures with the Nokia and my full frame DSLR in RAW. Looking at those pictures on my laptop with Lightroom, all Nokia's are far much better. Even adjusting parameters the DSLR don't match the Nokia's quality. This is amazing, Nokia is setting a new standard, a small smartphone taking fantastic pictures even better than DSLR and people are complaining about a missing 3.5mm audio jack ..... hahahaha. OK I agree the fingerprint doesn't work. I simply don't use it, face recognition works well, done. The 10 seconds to process the picture is nothing compared to the time I would need to achieve the same result. I'm very happy to get such a fantastic result in a few second. And this all in a small smartphone without having to carry a bag with camera and lenses. About low light, I didn't try it so I cannot comment. The same for the B/W pictures. But I'm not sure that the native B/W capture is a great idea. How to apply colour filters in post production ? How to use this camera ? Very easy the Jpeg pictures will match more than 90% of the needs (the google photos app allows to do easily some adjustment when needed. But I don't use it). For special pictures when post production is expected (such as portrait), the RAW option offers more flexibility and allows to go much further, but this need also some skills to benefit of the big Lightroom potential.

  • I had this phone for a week now and I do not regret buying it. Maybe photos are not the best ever made, but they still are incredibly good, detailed, balanced! And the software is not at all soooo slow. Even reasonably quick, at least for the quality of the photos. I tried DSLR in the past, I had two of them, which I recently sold. If someone is not a professional photographer, I do not see the point in carying kilograms of gear any more. The rest: best quality in conversation, very good screen, surprise: the audio DAC is quite a treat, sound through bluetooth on an audiophile grade system is unexpectidly good and spacious, battery lasts more than one day and everything runs softly. I never was a Nokia fan in the past, this is my first. Only complain: too slippery. A case is mandatory, but it spoils the beauty of the device.

  • I already asked on Amazon, the Pureview 9 is not going to support MicroSD unfortunately. Also makes no sense considering that the phone is catered for photo enthusiasts would likely take RAW photos which are massive.

  • Draining TIme Is About 4 Hours And 37 Minutes I Think...

  • Good Battery Life!

  • Cons (gsmarena review) Uses last year's Snapdragon flagship chipset User experience with the fingerprint scanner is poor Buggy software, freezes and crashes happen often when using the camera No microSD slot, while shooting RAW+JPG eats storage quickly The default JPEG and video output is not flagship-worthy The camera's prolonged image processing is tedious and takes a toll on battery life ***** HMD engineers have to do LOTS of work ahead.

  • Hi nokia Please we need at least 256 gb storage We need at least 8 gb ram or more We need Snapdragon 855 And good quality camera And not heavy phone Please make this build this year

  • Hopefully the dual SIM variant will support micro SD card slot

  • About 8-10 seconds when shot is taken with jpg + raw enabled. Certainly not 15 seconds

  • Probably second hand.

  • Thank you for your opinion, how much time second to processing of take photo on jpeg? We know Nokia 9 processing 5x 12mp.....i heard id jpeg take time up to 8 seconds and of raw take up to over 10 seconds??? Thank you

  • Can I get this phone on early 2020? Because I going to sell my iPhone 7 on early 2020.

  • For years now I've been rooting for a Nokia comeback, but it is not to be and I'm not going to wait around anymore. The thing is I'm a photographer and needed something light, portable, and ready to go with good image quality when I'm out with my SLRs or going light. This is why I bought into another losing team- HTC. I regularly get excellent publications with my U11 and U12+ and the squeeze makes the cams ready. The problem with Nokia is that video specs are outdated, sound specs are 2016 standard, no one can figure out the LTE bands, so it appears it's not going to be Band 71 compatible, maybe others, and reports are stating confirming that GSMArena softballed the review because buffering times after each shot are painfully long. This is one of the things that killed the 1020 for me. It was never ready to go and it was obvious that the reviewers were concealing this. Basically, they made a nice, 2018 phone with the Light Tech and nothing more. Then they released it in 2019 when much of the specs are 2017 standard. Here's to lamenting my old N8-00, whose imaging output was surpassed a couple years ago by the rest of the industry using smaller sensors. The 808 was an excellent performer as well, but those have finally been surpassed.

  • Best phone I've ever used. The camera is very amazing

  • You have no argument but numbers, counts and trend. I am talking price performance and you are talking what you find nice. I actually couldnt care less about those two disposable devices you just listed. And, as it is to be seen, i am not the only one. P.s: Nokia 8 was released with a price tag of 549 euros in europe in 2017. You do not even know the device, yet you talk. Ps. I actually like the design of the nokia 8, quite slick. And i love the hardware buttons and am not the only one. So get over your heand, not everybody likes bazeless and notches.

  • No this isn't underpriced. You can get a phone with the SD855 for the same price. Not all phones are above $1000. They aren't keeping prices low. They aren't innovating, there is literally nothing innovative about using last generation technology. This is literally the opposite, exnovation. And no, the Nokia 8 was nowhere near the best SD835 phone, I'd have to give that award to the LG V30 in terms of cameras/design/other features, or the OnePlus 5T in terms of performance. The Nokia 8 was one hell of an ugly phone too, the bezels were so last gen. (seeing a pattern here?) There was literally nothing to like about the Nokia 8, not even the price at $700 at launch.

  • Why Nokia not offering slow motion support

  • You talk like that is something new. That button was on Nokia devices a looooong time ago. While the volume buttons were playing zoom in /out when in camera mode. The only new thing in this equation, is the sony.

  • Volume buttons can.be used as a camera button. They lack two stage press tough, but with the cameras this days, is ok.

  • Does this phone support LTE band 66 ?

  • this is the best phone ever for me that i'd replaced to my 1020. nokia stands what they've said its good for camera enthusiast/photographer. for i rank it 200points for the camera and 150point for phone if i where DXO i wont let my company pays by other company in order to get high points and hype people with lies.

  • Here is an example of a Dedicated Camera Button that Sony has got: Why Nokia 9 Pureview hasn´t got it ???? It's a camera phone !!!! Isn´t it ????

  • Bought the phone yesterday, as I planned, but it turned out it is already available in almost all shops. I bought it from the local tech store in the nearby mall. I even bought an original plastic case for it, although if a Nokia phone needs a protector case, than it isn't really a Nokia. We will see if I will have to use it. As far as the phone is concerned, I was quite busy last night, so unfortunatly I haven't had enough time to launch, install and actually use it to have any impression on how it performs. All I can say is that it looks good, but, being all covered by glass, it is easy to leave your fingerprints all over it. You almost have to wear gloves to keep it clean. Otherwise it feels solid, but light and well balanced.

  • no OIS? what the ?

  • The dedicated camera button's purpose is not only to open the camera app. For example, on Sony phones it acts like real camera's shutter-release button. On half press it focuses and displays the focus on screen, and on full press it takes the picture. And volume rocker is used for zooming in and out.

  • It is not dedicated camera button. Just camera launch button. He was referring to 2way shutter button Which is missing totally nowadays..

  • I got this phone a few days ago. This is my observation: 1. If you're looking for point and shoot type camera, or if you're so-called Instagram "model" living off filters then this phone isn't for you. That says, you need to work on raw images. 2. Photo takes a few seconds to process 3. Too much of evenwell crap. You can view them with adb command. It is difficult to assertain the function of those apps. Nokia isn't very forthcoming about it. Best way is to read online in xda and Reddit communities. I suspect most if them are focused for Chinese roms and someone was too lazy to remove them. 4. Battery feels less when compared to my Mate20.

  • Ok, i still haven't got a chance to see it, as where i live the online stores show 9 days shipping, and stays like that for more then 2 weeka now, and the stores do not have it. Anyway, i am looking foword to give the opinion to my self.

  • In The Netherlands it's already available and started shipping 1 or even 2 weeks ago.

  • The phone is already available in Europe. Or at least in my country it is offered online in at least 3 online stores, some of which have physical shops, where you can go and see it. Actually, I am thinking about going to one of them this afternoon to see how it looks in the real and perhaps buy it, if I like it.

  • It was released on in a USA, and there was also not in every state. In europe it is still not out to be seen. I think this device will be pretty hard to find miding the limited manufacutre they claimed.

  • Just doubletap the power button and there it is :-)

  • then nokia can send them a review sample, if not no review....

  • So, when will you review this super phone, GSM Arena? This phone has been released on the market since 1 month ago, right? Do you love Samsung/Chinese phones that much so that you ignore the phone that is made by the king of hand phone brands a.k.a. Nokia?

  • The back gives me goosebumps, feels like CIA can spy with better clarity.

  • The battery life is good (if not stellar). using it for whatsapp, gaming etc. I have galaxy s9 and nokia 9, I think battery life is a bit better on nokia 9

  • lol. i dont know if you know what trypophobia is. at least in some phones it doesnt look like some skin with irregular maggot holes. but hey, who am i to judge. all i wanna say is i dont particularly like the back design. design is subjective aspect of a phone. you may like it, some dont.

  • Then you probably have, smartphonophobia, buy a feature phone.;). Solved.

  • Dedicated button camera, please !!! Soon !!!!

  • i have trypophobia. the back of this phone scares me lol.

  • If you know what you are doing, nokia. If you are the normal joe. I do not know., probably the huaway. But for me, huaway post process their pic way to mich, they are ok to be seen till are zoomed in, after that, chaos.

  • How many hours would the battery keep up and how exactly do u use the phone daily?

  • The camera result is very amazing, love this phone

  • you have Xiaomi Mi Max 4 Pro which has 5800mah

  • Hi what brand and model phone you use without 6000 mAh ?

  • Soon we will see the whole back cover as the camera

  • Nokia 9 is better for wider dynamic range and manual raw photography in which you can remove very darkness in photos to make it lit by afterprocessing manually, but p30 pro is actually using RYYB filter array, which captures more light than RGGB, therefore photos are more lit up, and the periscopic 5x optical zoom is blindfolding every tech youtuber, but ya it's a nice concept and pictures it takes while zooming are very clear

  • Which is better taking pictures? Nokia 9 PureView or the new Huawei P30 Pro?

  • This is huge bs. You are one of the ppl who don't know anything about cameras yet still talk like they know better than Nokia or Zeiss. 50mpx is just foolish in the category of phones. Even pro cameras rarely ever use that much pixels because it's useless. It's useful in $20000+ cameras like Hasselblads or PhaseOnes wich has huge sensors but even full frame cameras usually stop at max 30 (I know there are exceptions). This phone uses 12mpx cameras because they know that less pixels = better low light resolution (Sony did exactly this on their A7s & A7s II cameras) and the combination of 3 monochrome and 2 regular cameras can capture way more details than a single 50mpx one and over all better in every way.

  • Super!

  • poor battery, i'm using a phone of 6000mah why would i go down to this

  • i love my nokia 9. the best phone ever for me.

  • your phone is more expensive. more then a thousand dollar phone.

  • expensive !!!

  • Thank you

  • If it will not change price to much and gives user better experience why not, few years ego big chunk of people was saying same opinion about CPU cores.

  • Thank you

  • Great device from Nokia can't wait to get it in my hands

  • Does the world really need a smartphone with five cameras?

  • you are in nokia 9, you mentioning nokia 7 plus, are nokia 9 mention in that news?

  • P-OLED screen also blinks like usual Samsung amoled ?

  • I have been using this phone as my primary device for 3 weeks, replacing a Galaxy note 5 and other than the fingerprint scanner I've had no issues. The camera takes really cool images that I have had fun editing in both Google photos and Lightroom. The phone is fast and the display is great. I have not had any crashes or instability issues. Out the door the phone cost $650 and that price point was much easier to justify than some other flagships. Android one is great and I'm loving not having carrier or manufacturer bloatware on the device. The phone has a premium feel in hand and the battery life has been very good. Best I can say to this point is that I am happy with my purchase and experience so far.

  • No card slot😢😕🤔?

  • in short this phone captured is not for people who wants a.i/beautification. alright power

  • Nope, it has laserbeam. At least once you can unlock it.

  • for years? phone launched last year...

  • HMD Global have admitted that they for many years used Nokia 7 Plus to send the users position and sim-number and phone serial number to a server in China belonging to China Telecom! HMD Global are being investigated in both Finland and Norway! This is big news and GSM Arena should have this on the top of their front page, but Nokia fans are everywhere...!

  • This phone is not for those who want to take a pic and immediately upload it to Instagram. If you fall in that category then get Kardashian type phone

  • does this have face recognition? if so is it the selfie camera or the face recognition sensor?

  • lol did you watched video ??? I checked it one more time and first thing you do not know anything about image editing !!! so i am not going to opposed some one ho can not get what he is seeing on monitor. I can not say Nokia 9 has grate camera better than Iphone 10 or S10+ because i do not have item yet but it may be worse(much worse) or better than i think it is. Mane dislike i have on this review they do not edited picture at all.

  • The video directly starts with editing at 1:50 .... but believe in what you want.

  • eh i have seen that video, i am not going to fight on this topic here but they never edited a single poto my friend, as i know you can change a lot in raw picture but i do not have nokia 9 so i can not say anything at 100%. Everyone can watch it and say if that video was fair.

  • Funny, cause all you say is exactly the other ways arround. People who review this monster have no idea what they are doing. Have no concept of a camera and some of them are probably paied to bash. This device is not for useless hardware trolls. This is for people who actually know what to do with it not for people whos minds are at: mine is faster and takes better pictures, without one bit of hardware understanding. This device is a beast and a beast that's not for every kinder out there. And this useles reviewers that talk about not having depth of field most probably have no ideea what that is.

  • this ia the phone for me. i am using xs max and second phone is mate 20 now this would be my overall phone now. going to buy this monster as soon as possible

  • i've got my nokia 9 today and i loved it. more power nokia keep moving forward.

  • They did show that the Samsung 12 MP camera captures more detail in their .jpg images than the Nokia 9 does in RAW and with 5 cameras... They also showed that the depth map that every [paid] YouTuber is promoting isn't even working very well and at best is a gimmick. They also show how long it takes the phone to process images and they argue that since this time is so long the phone is unusable for moving targets and that you will most of the time miss what you wanted to capture. They also show that the images processing in the Nokia 9 is garbage (what is not a good sign since that is the only feature the phone has going for it). They also show that the software is extremely unstable and the app or the whole phone constantly crashes when taking images. They also show that the Snapdragon 845 just can't keep up. Don't know how that wasn't clear enough for you.

  • I watched it but first thing i do not liked they never edited raw image which is mane deal in Nokia 9 !! look this

  • nokia 10 iscoming soon!!!!!!

  • Very elegant design

  • exactly

  • How long time seconds while the processing photo when we take and photo?? I remember Lumia 1020 ia about 4-5 seconds to processing a photo when we take.....

  • For everyone thinking about buying this phone, check out this camera review, it seems really honst:

  • agree!!!!!

  • All cameras must be 50 mp and must record better videos to deserve name pureview. Battery must be 5000 mA at least and removable until they make batteries which never expire . Card slot must be added

  • Nice design

  • No headphone jack = No buy.

  • While it is processing your photos it is consuming your battery. The camera does not open or it the phone lags when you use the camera in a low battery.

  • Don't not hope something it ain't gonna happen. But well, welcome to thr "future".

  • And it needs *SD855, *5G connection and a *DEDICATED CAMERA BUTTON (this last one is VERY IMPORTANT in a camera phone like this, isn't it ?? ).

  • Well, Let's hope they release another version that has 3.5mm Jack and SD Card. Let's hope for it...

  • *SD855(mb 865 no one knows when it will be online) +10 ram *Card slot/ or 512 GB *Dedicated camera button (VERY IMPORTANT on a camera phone like this). I do not think it will be problematic to add one more button *3500 mAh battery, is that mach more than 3320 mAh ? *5G connection. +++

  • Most likely it should happen. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it the same thing with their last flagship phone ? The 8 where they came up with the scirocco version. Otherwise it seems like a completely different phone from the rest of the competition. Too bad that the Canadian market will most likely won't be seeing it that easily.

  • Is it just me or does the phone look weird with 5 cameras... I know looks don't matter but they do create a first impression on customers which is quite important.

  • No SD card slot? No 3.5mm? bad

  • I also agree that not having a 3.5mm jack is a drawback. Nevertheless I will purchase this phone, hopefully this summer. I need to have this to have the awesome 4 camera phones N8, 808, Lumia 1020 and Nokia 9.

  • The looking of the phone is very bad... this the ugly phone i ever seen

  • I hope so. I still have faith in Nokia at the moment.

  • How long ??

  • You are absolutely wrong. Just wait Nokia will surprise us with even big sensors

  • The phone will die while waiting for pictures to be processed. 😂

  • the phone only has one button and one rocker on it for the most part , but i think when the rocker is pushed it will take a pic... ill need to play with it more, but i would like the rocker to be the zoom and the ohter button to take a pick. who knows maybe they will make a new version because for some reason it kept saying limited edition on this phone.

  • yes i was a bit bumbed about no add on mem card, but 128Gb it might go fast if you take a lot of pics, but with my old 808 i would just hook it up to the computer anyways to take off pictures.

  • Oh it does have a jack look at some videos..

  • the phone does have a headset Jack checkout some videos on the phone.

  • It is not so important to follow every design trend (notch, etc.), but it is important to build devices that benefit the user. Form follows Function!

  • The only thing that annoys me is the missing jack. As i recebtly realised Android cannot encrypt external storage, so it is exposed when loosing your device or even when sleeping. Also, even using wiping technicks when loosing it, will wipe only the main storage. Minding the fact my device now has 64GB internal plus 64GB external, and was never full or even close to being full, i mean not by a 100GB, everything more then 64GB will be ok for me. But the jack is another story.

  • Go inform yourself about that phobia before repeating the same s''t that has been said since the first pictures leak of this device. Then, after realising you just talk without heaving a clue, come back and appologize yourself for ignorance. Thank you.

  • It would be interesting that Nokia from the base of this phone add it some improvements to make it very attractive: *SD855 *Card slot *Dedicated camera button (VERY IMPORTANT on a camera phone like this). *3500 mAh battery *5G connection.

  • Oh, ja, because you see the spiders eyes. Nothing better to do?

  • Nothing innovative? Have you seen that camera? Will probably be the best camera on the market. If only a new CPU is innovative for you then go and buy a Samsung S10.

  • no but the cameras look like spider eyes

  • Arachnophobia that's fear of spiders and all other arachnids.

  • Very elegant design,,the europan style is always good

  • I have read an interview from Nokia officials has claimed they WILL NOT make a SD855 option of Nokia 9 in the future, as the phone was solely built around SD845. They may make a new phone with SD855 which will be released in 2020, though.

  • Arachnophobia

  • Seems like a great phone

  • People with trypophobia will have a problem with this phone camera 😱

  • I can do with out the jack but no m card not for me

  • Shoot, really? Well, what about the face scanning? Does it get fooled by a picture?

  • Owners, please let us know if you are able to make VoLTE phone calls with T-Mobile. --> Merely having a VoLTE setting is not sufficient because the carrier has to permit the VoLTE call to go through. Are you actually seeing "LTE" in the status bar *during* your phone calls? Thanks!

  • I got the phone on pre-order and the finger print scanner is unusable. Either I have no prints or there was no qa performed. I have seen other remarks complaining about the terrible finger print sensor. 1. Press so hard hour thumb turns white 2. Press so hard your screen may break.

  • I'll have to disagree with that last statement heavily. But I will not deny that in spite of me loving my XR, this Nokia is amazing for it's price tag and looks awesome. It stands out, is quite cheap relatively to other phones, clean software, and kick-ass cameras. I would totally buy the 9 for a second phone

  • It would be interesting that Nokia from the base of this phone add it some improvements to make it very attractive: *SD855 *Card slot *Dedicated camera button (VERY IMPORTANT on a camera phone like this). *3500 mAh battery *5G connection.

  • No card slot? Huh? Unbelievable decision here!

  • it is looking funny

  • The device is actually underpriced, considering the fact that the devices that had nothing improved, nothing new, nothing innovative and with the same chip, 6 Months ago (not a whole history) were priced at the edge of 1000€ and now, just because of a chip that ain't that fast in front of this one, they cost over 1000. I actually find this device a crazy great release, refreshing, good strategy of marketing, and i actually hope they will always do it like this, keeping prices low and still innovating, is something not from this world, and nope, i am never going to pay 1200-2000€ for a phone, especially when i know how it's price is dropping after half a year. In my opinion this device is now the best device with snapdragon 845, price performance and innovation. Just like the first nokia 8 is actually the best device with snapdragon 835, nothing can beat it's price performance quality, ratio not even the disposibleanufacturers like xiaomi oneminus and whutever, can beat that beast.

  • LOL there is a Jack adapter for you. Nokia have also given headset with 3.5mm AV type not a general USB Type C headset. So you could join it and use it. Now stop complaining don't cry every time like a child.

  • There are only rumors about the Nokia 9 with a SD855 and 5G later this year.

  • What about a Nokia 9 Pureview launching with SD855 & dedicated button camera?

  • Definitely yes, sleek and beautiful from every corner. And there is no camera bump on the back.

  • Well than what is the problem all about? I think there is already a solution given, you buy the Lenovo, I buy the Nokia 9 and we are both satisfied.

  • No Jack No Buy... FLop phone just like sont

  • (1) The Z5 Pro GT is not the "Z5 GT Pro." (2) It doesn't matter what the IP rating is as long as you don't dunk it in water, which only someone who has an extreme mental disability would do. (3) A single great camera does insanely better than a 5 camera setup, a camera setup is only as good as it's best sensor. (4)There are literally no problems at all with the sliding mechanism that have been found. The Mi Mix 3 has been out for 5 months and have you heard any big problems with it? I didn't think so. Besides, it's better than the big 2017 bezels on this Nokia trash. (5) You can buy and use the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT in America, or most other countries. It is not China only. Do your research. (6) I guess you're kinda right about the pricing on the s10e. I looked at the cheapest price for the s10e on ebay since it wasn't out yet, and it was $650.

  • Welp if people are gonna use last gen chipsets in their phones then of course I'm gonna say something about it. Next thing you know there'll be Snapdragon 835 phones for $900.

  • Very good design

  • The Z5 GT Pro, no IP rating, no Penta Lens camera which is why people actually purchase this phone, sliding mechanism where dust collects, and maybe one update every six months. And so far it is a China only phone. There are pros and cons for both. The galaxy S10e is a lot more expensive, 599 euro for the Nokia 9, 780 euro for Samsung S10e. That is a lot more than 50 bucks.

  • @Carol like you said (" Mind your own business and let people like what they like." ) so don't question them if they want to bash or like the comment section. HAHAHA

  • I found this phone to be a little too underwhelming

  • Hey man, i have a question: does anybody here force you to buy this phone? Nope! Are you paied to come here and complain about it? To bash it? Probably not. So why the struggle? Mind your own business and let people like what they like.

  • I ain't the one being asinine here. You are if you think that you won't lose any performance from dropping down from a Snapdragon 855 to an 845. Whether you're using the "full processing power of the 845 chip" or not. Lmao Idk where you heard that, but it's a complete and utter lie. You're stupid and foolish for believing that. (Literally the definition of asinine) And check phones like the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT or the S10e, the Z5 Pro GT is cheaper and has more ram and a snapdragon 855, and the s10e is made by an expensive company, Samsung, yet only costs $50 more with the Snapdragon 855.

  • No. Even phones like the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT are cheaper yet have much better specs. Like a ton more ram and the Snapdragon 855.

  • Yea very good. Yet, without a headphone jack, an sd card slot and a decent battery, it is not so interesting. And what a about a glass back thats going to break easily, even with a case.

  • When will Nokia (HMD) start selling on a global scale? or is the limited production going to end in the USA and UK?

  • I hope camera software doesn't downgrade image quality like how Huawei nerf their cameras (by updates) to make it look like their current high end models are an improvement over their previous models.

  • The design looks very stylish

  • Actually this is not a flagship. This is a camera by nokia with phone.which has all the basic features.

  • Where are you living ??

  • You are right bro

  • Such an beautiful thing has no SD card, no 3.5mm... So, when designers brain overloaded... This happens.

  • Just got a shipment confirmation from Best Buy. arriving tomorrow.

  • As I know no one has real Nokia 9 yet, when it will be online and when we will have full review?

  • I wanted this phone very much

  • Of course!

  • I have been searching on Amazon for this device but i have not found it. Where can i buy it from?

  • its poled

  • Probably because in android the volume button acts as a camera button when in camera mode.

  • There will be a lot of devices with those speks. All of them will be perfect phones? As for now, you can always buy samesung s1000, it has what you want, minus the battery. And it is verry cheap(1250€).

  • Very true

  • All it need to be a perfect 2019 phone was: 1. 4000 mAh battery. 2. Everybody loves Mr. Jack 3. MicroSD slot (moveable memory) 4. 855 SD processor (you won't see the difference in 855 vs 845 in daily usage)

  • Don't take seriously the review of Samsung biased people, everybody's best is different and Nokia quality is among the best.

  • Show me evidence for any of these claims. They're all subjective opinions, and in the case of speed of updates, just plain wrong.

  • I am going to purchase this phone without any comparison's. I know samsun s10 and huawie mate 20 pro are better. But this is true love. I will purchase $699 instead of $549 for company support.😘😘

  • We know this that all the things are better. But we love it. Nokia is nokia

  • i have talked about their flagships like Nokia 8, Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 9 Pureview. Do they have a notch? For midrange yes i could understand they need to follow trends in order to stay on market in terms of midrange segment. They are free to use that trends on midrange as people don't care about the flagship features they only follow the trend. But flagship is different and it should be unique from others.

  • i think Nokia need more cameras with replaceable lenses and some extra possibility to attach external cameras. maybe strobe flash also? what do you think?

  • They have many phones with notcbes

  • Oxygen OS is better then stock android and get's updates faster then Nokia It also uses an Amoled which is better then Poled, better design, has better optimisation and therefor will be faster even with the same specs

  • Mate all of the things you mentioned were and are inovations and look better then this phone

  • I will buy it. Simply because i like it. Chipset is high end, cameras are good, the design is great (i hate curved edge displays) 2k OLED display, and most of all the price is more than affordable.

  • To all the savvies who accuse Nokia of "being late" on this device, goes a simple question: "Do you have the slightest idea of how hard it's nowadays to coordinate the work of at least 5 companies to create a product like this?" In this product you see the effort of HMD, Nokia, Light, Zeiss, Qualcomm and Sony combined! It's not easy, alas it's terribly hard... If you will buy it, you will not be deluded, for sure.

  • Agreed

  • Nokia 9 Pureview needs: *SD 855. *Card slot. *Dedicated camera button.

  • still this design is fine as it will give overall best viewing experience and i don't have to add app on my phone to hide the notch or hole inorder to view videos and play games to utilize the full screen of the phone. Iam proud user that nokia is not adding any bullshit notch or hole on their flagship lineup to copy others.

  • they are not including camera button..i simply dont understand it

  • 128 GB not enough?

  • wahhhhh wahhh wahhhh

  • omg, it's using the same processor as Google PIxel 3! Oh the horror!

  • No Card Slot !! But WHY???

  • nokia 9 has lg oled display link

  • Ahem, 9 PureView is 50 dollars more, and you get the pure Android experience/updates, a significantly better camera, and a higher resolution and higher PPI display. CPUs, RAM, and storage are the same.

  • Then go buy a more than a thousand dollar phone then maybe that makes your craving satisfied.

  • this phone dont want you. go with your useless non innovative notch with a curvy screen and then when you drop your looks like this $$$$$$

  • It is called Trypophobia and if you Google it it does badly affect most folk. It is when many holes are close together it is unsettling.

  • Some people;e have to have the latest and greatest but all this GHz of power is overkill they never think about the GPU that really powers all this . A Core i3 with fantastic discrete GPU will power a game better than the other way round ie Core i7 with no dedicated GPU. The Nokia N97 was crippled by low C-Disk space, low RAM and no dedicated GPU nowt really to do with GHz of power it had. Samsung in around 2006 brought out D600 and U600 which had 84GHz single core CPU it did process 3.3MP camera and video at 15FPS @CIF resolution. It also did all its other duties. I wish folk would accept all this processing power is overkill it is optimised software, good optics and GPU more important. I am Nokia fan I grew up on Nokias fantastic quirky designs with Symbian and welcome them back. I wish I knew where Andy Burgin went as he was another die hard Nokia advocate.

  • No SD Card slot with only 128gb.

  • Don't be asinine..Nokia used the full processing power of the 845 chip so there's no marked performance loss. As for the premium price the quoted price of $699 is below that of the 2019 flagships.

  • Can someone go to a concert and record video that we can hear the quality of microphones! I can't find if there is same carbage mics than nokia 6, 7, 8 has. Ozo 3 mics is not enough. We want haac!

  • I loved its design. Minimal bezels, no notch, gorgeous blue color and perfect (flower shaped) camera arrangement. The perfect design... But, it has no memory expansion slot and no headphone jack. Also, it uses last year's chipset. (Because of this, it is cheaper)

  • 599 $ - that's on par with S9 and iphone 8

  • poor Design. That is not good for 2019 taht is good for 2015.

  • *akhem* Oneplus *akhem*

  • I believe Nokia stated because of the multiple cameras that it isn't necessary?

  • What premium price? It's cheaper than most other flagships.

  • Oh boy this last gen chipset phone sure is great. It's so amazing having to pay a premium price for a no longer premium phone.

  • Even if this phone is not really full screen display, it does still looks very beautiful

  • I have Nokia N8, Nokia 808 PureView, Nokia Lumia 1020. The fourth camera phone that will be added to the list of Nokia camera phones is the Nokia 9.

  • i am wait for rate of DXOMARK for this phone i sure this phone will have 100+ rates and maybe 110 or 112 or 114 ! just look at that rock picture , and that moment you find a human in that picture on the path near the rock !

  • Why Nokia didn't use OIS?

  • OMG, I thought it was just me!

  • And your statement 'At term of price this is not a flagship device' is stupid. If its not flagship then what it is? A midrange? Then what is nokia 7.1 and nokia 8.1? Lower end phones? Then what is nokia 1, nokia 2.1? Multimedia phones?

  • Nokia need to go full display and do not nessesary branding name in display we need full display nokia phone like s10

  • Then sure you can gofor nokia 9. I am not convincing you to buy galaxy s10. All I am saying is Different people prefer dofferent phones and I will not prefer a nokia 9. Thats it man

  • I like this phone, but as Nokia company says this phone is not flagman, this is special mobile with limited number. First Nokia flagman can be after 6 month 9.1 1. same mane cameras + new program to shoot video using all 5 cameras. 2. better selfi camera 3. snapdragon 855 + 10/12 ram 4. + 2 strong Loudspeakers at top and bottom like Razer Phone 5. 4000 mAh 6. microSD slot 256 rom But price will be 1000-1100 euro. One more time i like this phone for its price, it may have best poto at market, but flagship is different category :( . It is hard to explain user ho wants to buy stongest phone at market that Nokia 9 is cool.

  • In terms of PRICE it is not a flagship phone... low end GalaxyS10 will be $900 vs $600 for the Nokia (on sale at release). Sure the specs are not on the Galaxy's level, except for the camera which some of us want. I don't game on my phone, I don't need the newest chipset, I want top notch picture quality. Galaxy CANNOT hang with this camera, which is a selling point for some people. What I'm not a fan of Samsung's bloatware...I hope you enjoy it lol.

  • No OIS or dual pixel tech or any king of stabilization - thats probably why images are not that sharp - why make a camera phone then, makes no sense to me nokia.....????

  • I hope that was a joke.

  • ****** Is there any news about the SD855 version release with more powerful battery and Dual Sim available for micro SD card ???? ******

  • Can't wait to have this beauty

  • not for who has Trypophobia ................

  • I already said, Hands down nokia 9 has best camera!!! But I think you will buy Nokia 9 just for cameras! And.. DSLRs and other Camera manufacturer ccompany be like: (°_°) am I a joke to you?

  • See here we again.. You are again defending this nokia 9. And I said it once and gonna say it again! Nokia 9 might be good for you but its not better than other flagship of 2019. The specs might be good for you but different people have different priorities and different expectations, different needs! Its a good camera phone but it doesn't mean all people will buy this just for camera! Its actually you who keep on embarrassing yourself. All I did was posted my opinion and then you started and giving your so called Free 'Knowledge' that nobody asked for! After all your comments I get down to the conclusion (according to you) is that 3g is better than 4g or 5g, 128gb internal memory without sd card slot is enough even tho consumer needs a sd card slot, The price difference between nokia 9 and samsung galxy s10 is huge So nokia is better, Samsung got bloatwares and nokia doesn't so nokia is better even tho there are some people out there who likes to use the apps provided by samsung, No 5g for nokia but still who cares for 5g? According to you. If this is not called defending a phone then I don't know what is! So from now onwards I will not gonna argue with a stupid person but just gonna give you a peice of advice 'STOP EMBARRASSING YOURSELF AND NOKIA'

  • Funny guy!!! judging phone by SD slot !! seriously u need to grow up a lot..

  • I am starting to think you really have no idea what you are talking about and with who. In my comments there is nothing about defending a phone, but about technology, performance and optimisation, and of course contradicting your lack of knowlege with clear points. Second, you come here telling everyone how this device is not good, for no reason, then complain about me not respecting the fact that people can decide for them.selves? Third: you call me blind but fail to see the most clear points i made?: Dragon 845 vs 855, real life performance difference: 0 to half a second faster. 5g: is not even in Europe yet, 4G launched a long time ago but it still has nothing to say in a lot of places, still weak and still a battery draining network, i do not need that. I need a stable.network that does not eat my battery. H+ based on 3g is that connection that is fast enough and stable enough in my region, so i USE that when not at home, and if i need to acces the internet, of course. And am.not the only one in the world (of course, who has brains) fourth: pure android vs bloated crapp. Hmm, Google apps are not what i use, but in a nokia device they are a very limited number, i can call it, barebone of android. They can.be disabled and good enough. Smaesung is a mess of crapp preinstalled apps that takes half a day to disable (talking about no rooting here) also a crappy implementation of os that gets slower and messier with the time, very slow updates or no updates. Fifth: samsung s10 way more expensive then this device and quite frankly, for a cpu that makes almost no difference IT is not worthy!. Now, i did not tell you what to choose, choose whatever the ... you want. But don't come in here and acuse others of something at the end showing them all how you fail to understand even what you claim or talking about. If you don't get this? Stop writing, you only emberess yourself.

  • The cameras are creepy, looks like the eyes of a spider.

  • agreed on you

  • That means you mean to say Nokia 9 with 5 cameras which can take a photo with 5 cameras together is old technology in a smartphone? Its really a future just wait for the review before talking. Its already surpasses many cameras with its better color reproduction. Nokia is not makimg any gimmick here they are using real and different multi camera approach. They have pass all the performance issues inorder to work on 5 simultaneous shots and combining it and thats the reason for its late launch but still the phone outshines.

  • This phone is for photographers not for you. Even sd 845 is not outdated. You are saying like that no one is buying a phone with sd845. Still some people wait 1 year to get the lowest prices of the phone since launch and nokia 9 is available for the lowest price already. You mean to say people are not buying a sd 845 phone like samsung galaxy s9/s9+? You are wrong. If this phone sells well then think what will be the sale of the nokia phone launching on july end with sd855 and 5G and with even large sensors. Please note before saying: This is not end of 2019 it is the start. Nokia is back! already.

  • I am interested in camera quality and battery times only. Rest is just cosmetic for me. Currently own a s9. Waiting for reviews on s10e (low pixle=batter performance + small hole) mi 9 or mi 9 explorer (again small hole on front) and now this... nokia 9 (no notch and batter camera results?) Special request: GSM Arena plz do a battery test about how many photos this camera can take on a single charge.

  • You know what? I am starting to hate nokia just because of blind fans like you. You still defending this device and defending again and again.. But it does not gonna change the fact that Compared to other flagships of 2019 nokia 9 will be the most poor flagship if we exclude the camera comparison

  • For you it might not be but for some people yes it is! And you can't extend your storage using a sd card in nokia 9! Stop defending nokia..While even tho samung galaxy s10 base model have 128gb of internal storage it still offers a microSD card slot

  • 128 GB is low? Seriously?

  • Make NOKIA greate again!!!

  • I was looking toward to buy this phone...but no card slot is a hard sell to me. With SD845 and no 5G, it's still good for few years.

  • Minding the fact that you have no ideea how technology works, is a wander you still trust yourself talking. Ignorance is bliss ain't it? Important is, the number is higher then the others, right? You have no idea what say. Just randome thrown useless words. Nokia 8 is actually a very fast device, i dare to say, faster then.samesung s9 with snapdragon 945. But hey, ignorance is bliss right?. I use wi-fi, is more advance, but hey, ignorance is blis right? Grow up kido, when.it comes to tech i take turns around you before you say 5g. Story of my life. GSMarena and wannabes.

  • This.

  • why would you want 5 cameras for? not really practical if you ask me maybe if they were designed for specific uses like night mode, 4k or low light cameras but for just one photo it really is not practical

  • Hand down nokia 9 has best camera*

  • Lol.. look whos talking about, 'Which phone is future proof or not', the one who claims to own a nokia 8 and still use 3g. Well no wonder why nokia isn't the best smartphone manufacturers now because of worst fanbase like you. I guess this is why nokia releases phone with older technologies because people like you thinks its latest. No arguement against the nokia 9. Hands Down Its the best. But thank you. DSLRs are there for photography not smartphone. Smartphones should perform well overall.. and you still don't uunderstand my point, so stop arguing. A 128gb internal memory without a micro SB card support is low in the year 2019. So stop arguing. You use 3g on your nokia 8 or is satisfy with the old processor or limited storage doesn't means everybody would prefer the same. Use your brain! And think before arguing

  • great!

  • Let us Know when you start using 5g will you lol yah silly person. you could have 2 years of fantastic photos before 5g is fully Implemented

  • This phone is already cheap for and in display fingerprint and five cameras for 699 USD bro

  • this's looking beautiful.

  • I like the design, simple but elegant.

  • can I give some of my opinion for this phone? first we start with the chipset, it's a shame that it isn't using sd855, but 845 is already powerful enough and I bet none of you guys ever use the potential of the 8 series chipset to the fullest. as long as it can do the job well so why not? it's pretty efficient chipset to. secondly, no 5G but who cares? 5G is still nothing but newborn technology that is only available to really several places only. it won't be a thing until at least 2-3 years later. why bother put the 5G if you cannot use it to the fullest just yet and even put up more the price? third, the camera here is really something, it made to get the widest range of the dinamic range, make the picture taken more realistic and close to the ones taken by DSLR. this maybe not for everyone but seeing how nokia done it spectacularly, it deserve a prise. fourth, it uses android one which will assure you that it will always get the fastest update and less useless app to take the storage. it may lack some app like screen recorder, app lock, and several useful app tho, which I really miss after moving to nokia 6.1 plus from my old redmi note 3 pro. fifth, no SDcard slot and 3.5mm jack. probably this is the only letdown from this phone. using microSD to transfer data is much more convenient (for me at least), and I still think wired earphones are better in overall quality, though I won't deny that wireless earphones are getting better and better. sixth, last but not least the price is considerably one of the cheaper flagship with so much features in it. I mean sure 620 EUR is not really cheap but compared to samsung's and apple's? this thing cost way lower than those phones. PS. I am indeed a nokia fanboy but I review phone as it is. if a phone is good then I would say it's good, and same goes with the other, if a phone is bad I would say it is bad without any regret or shame even though that phone comes from the brand I like

  • the regular Samsung S10 with similiar QHD display has 3400 mah and Xiaomi mi 9 has 3300 mah battery. Nokia 9 battery is comparable with other flagship

  • yea, try buying S10 for ~600eur xD

  • I use my excellent bluetooth headset and won't go back to wire hassle again

  • Great, as i still use 3g because 4g is useless in a lot of places and drains battery. 5g is a joke. The blind one it is you, having no ideea what technology is, but keep on talking....in a useless manner. As for nokia 9 vs samsung 10? Let me think. 650 vs 1200 €? Hmmm. Ah, yeah, and a cpu that makes almost no difference besides 5g that actually does not exist still... but only in a very small enviroment and also a network i do not want to use... hmmm yeah, i am.blind..ed by people that think just because they can pronounce 5g, they actually know something.

  • Seriously?! No 3.5 Audio jack? I love Nokia but this year, the galaxy S10 is the winner. Some things have to be left the way they have always been.

  • hmmp, it is not even priced like the Samsung or Apple ones

  • 3320mAh battery is a joke... NOKIA SUCKS!

  • I very much hope Nokia will soon release Nokia 9.1 with SD 855, Wide Angle Camera, bigger battery, and better specs. Come on Nokia you know you can do better than this... King should have done better.

  • 5G will take at least 2 years to streamline...5G is just a novelty now..but i might be wrong no one really knows yet

  • 5G technology isn't even widely available yet. It's still in its infancy. Furthermore this isn't at a flagship price. It's much cheaper than the $1000 price tag that the 5G Samsung phone has. You are clearly a fanboy if you are just spouting off the same buzzwords each time. Nokia 9 will have hands down the best camera experience out of any phone available today. That is what this phone was built for and what it is marketed as. If you aren't looking for that, then go look somewhere else.

  • Nokia 9 will not support 5g.. But with Snapdragon 855 samsung can.... But seriously you are soo blind with the nokia branding.. I am not a samsung fanboy nor got any nokia obsession like you... How would you feel if you spent your money on a flagship device in 2019 and it doesn't even support 5g.

  • Only gonna say . The support to 5g

  • Does it have rich recording to record concerts?

  • Android one sux? By "god so much ignorance every comment/cm²

  • The review is not yet out. You cant judge the quality without any valid reference

  • Now !!!! Nokia iN actiOn !!!!!!!

  • TAKE NOTICE NOKIA...AM A LONG TIME FAN ANND EXPERT TEST CELLS..nokia still best cell maker but new nokia anroid best cells.. can not match the best of old..nokia lumias in receiver performance...a bity ....are good,,, but some of the old..nokia lumia series were supper...worlds best.. in single performance like...820/920/1020/950/950XL// may be also a 520/30...have not tested nokia 9..but expect it to be same as nokia 8 sircco..

  • More Gimmicks 🤣 ! More Battery Useage ! More To Go Wrong ! Looks FANTASTIC For A Toy Phone 🤣🤣🤣 Sort it out NOKIA......Try Getting A Better Battery What Will Do A Week 🤣🤣🤣

  • Awesome phone if it comes to Slovakia its a buy one for sure for me.

  • Can somebody explain to me how 5 cameras without OIS even work? and with Android One? I mean… it sucks, right?

  • flagship phone released on February 2019 and equipped with sd 845???? come on!!s they could have saved 1 lens and equip the phone with the newest 855....I'll definitely go for the mi 9!

  • S10 has a much more efficient processor though, just look Mi 9 review. 855 is a good deal better for battery than 845.

  • My next phone! Good job from HMD.. Nokia comes back! The only drawback I think is the battery.. I think a 4000mAh battery is more suitable for a smartphone with this chip and screen. Snapdragon 845 is very powerfull, and coupled with 6GB ram makes a very smooth smartphone, so no worry for this instead of 855. Innovation is what we need and Nokia 9 has it. Now, we're waiting to see some tangible proof of the camera's superiority..

  • No telephoto and optical zoom its ok but how it hasnt ultrawide lens ? What is tof camera ? And sd845 is old

  • Hardcore fans will defending whatever for their beloved brand, they will hide the bad things of their beloved to look superior... xD

  • well they can have my money! i'll go and buy this phone whenever it become available!

  • Its on par with current flagship battery. The regular S10 with almost identical QHD display have 3400 mAh battery and this nokia 9 have 3320 mAh battery, just 80 mAh less then S10.

  • Wireless charging ? Yes

  • nice name

  • Has no Galileo GPS :(

  • All Those cameras and high performing Apps but battery of 3000. Its discouraging

  • Man maybe and maybe not. Real life experience and youtube videos will prove whats true and which statement is wrong and fail.

  • does it have wireless technology?

  • Its one of the best design if you think technically. Lens are of circle shape and since it is giving computational photography with its 5 sensors and lens combined it totally gives a huge resolution as same it has the symbol of arranging the camera in circular shape. For me its one of the unique and best design.

  • new thing more better; lol

  • I want to see the pictures this one takes, it gets definitely an A plus on aesthetic from me so far.

  • In my opinion, Galaxy S10E is more better.

  • P.S if everybody trusts them, does not mean they are good. Throughout the history, the mass proved again and again how s'''ip and ignorant it can be. So, "everybody" should be more like a warning sign then a great one. Dxzero markt also flagged the two pureviews with a lower score then iphone 6 that has a crapp camera allover. The two pureview are actually still unbeatable when it comes to quallity (they may be slow, they may not be modern, but "gut demit" they take great superior photographs) and that has been prooven on sites with rightfull people, again and again.

  • I have hard times believing that. I will probably find a lot of "Not good" just by zomming in. But to each his own.

  • Yeah i feel you, but you can still use wired headsets, onky that you need a dungle or a typce headset.

  • it's true! this Nokia 9 has a bad camera design. please 4 cameras are okay. they need to work on their design. The five cameras messed up the back of the phone. it looks like a toy to be honest

  • Nokia showed in these years that it is behind other companies and its innovations are poor. Like Sirocco or this cellphone.

  • Xenon flash

  • Without 3.5mm jack, I don't see phone exist to me. We are already suffering from mobile unknown radiation, you wanted that to extend that radiation with another device around your neck. I use wired headphones to avoid little radiation as possible.

  • Quite impressive they managed to keep the phone at a light 172 grams, and smart move that none of the cameras have a bump. However, will the sensors vastly improve image quality? The s9's dual aperature did work, but overall it was a gimmick considering it's oversharpened but actually has less detail than the Pixel 3

  • nokia 9 have led notif light?

  • Why should we? no one even thought about removing jack till stupid iPhone did. I don't see any of the audiophile industry removing cables or nightclubs or rock concerts using bluetooth speakers. You grow up and stop being an apple apologist.

  • my 2019 best phone. this phone shows innovation into it. going to buy this when it will be on the market, with its price to its specs i wont think twice. my money would be worth it for this monster. people with popularity sake just buy phone with a thousand of thousand of $$$$

  • I thought it has MicroSD card slot.

  • Lol who uses SD cards in 2019? Google Photos, OneDrive, Dropbox?

  • I dnt understand why everyone is asking for sd card slot and 3.5mm jack , come on guys grown up and start using internal memory and BT headsets ... you are not living in 90's plz

  • Thanks for respond patiently

  • Everybody trust them. And even a real life experience can prove Mi9 is best camera phone released compared to Sony or Samsung which for far higher price will give you far worse device.

  • The best thing is the design. ......no notch or any thing interrupted the screen ....that's the right thing that's smartphones how should be ....those commercial trends aren't really useful

  • Dx0 mark actually exact 0. Do not trust those pathethic sellouts.

  • As i was saying, you have no ideea what future proof even means. This phone will last and last, and will be as fast as always till the end of it's life. Will receive 2 years of System updates and 3 of security updates( and after that you can still use it for 10 years). Samsung futureproof? You got to be kidding people here. Tell me, what phone from samesung from 2017 is on android PIE now? I know my Nokia 8 has it and is even faster then it was with android 7 or 8. Ups, samesung got slower and no updates. Futureproof my a... Rectify your futureproof troll. Develope another trolling idea, this one just got your long nose. P.s you do not know how to lie and troll anymore, but i am the troll?

  • The processing is done ine the background, actually to take fotos is quite normal. Also, HMD is aware of this and clearly stated the final release will be faster. As for 20 seconds? Let's not exagerate the already missinformation you are trying to bring here.

  • Have fun!

  • Well Samsung does not have the best track-record when it comes to software updates, yet Nokia is an android one phone i believe....the other things that matter is battery life after using the phone for a period of 2 years , dunno if Nokia slows down phones with time but samsung does... I own a one plus 3 that i bought almost 3 years ago (in june), for £329 and believe me it still does everything you would need a phone to do, camera is still decent, speed on the phone as well, and i still get android version updates faster than samsungs of the same gen...My question is what makes the Samsung more future proof for the average user?

  • No 3.5mm jack, no microsd slot, to many scary cameras and outdated design. I better buy Xiaomi Mi 9 or Galaxy S9 plus.

  • Dear GSMArena..... Curiously waiting for detailed review and blind shootout of Nokia 9 with others.....

  • Excited to see Nokia's come back as a true photography master....regardless of older processor, 3.5 mm jack n even no micro SD support. Still u have enough storage to keep ur memories.... or u may also transfer ur fotoz to ur PC, as I do with my Nokia 7 Plus... So don't worry about memory expansion... It has been a trend to omit 3.5 mm jack as Bluetooth headphones r replacing wired ones..... So, on the whole, Nokia 9 is perfectly priced bang for buck in this category where u r getting costlier phones....

  • And look at the sample images, focus is frustrating 😤

  • It also has a narrow 28mm lens and 1/2.9" 1.25micron pixel pitch, for photographers

  • Do photographers need older SoC and smaller battery? I never knew that, sorry 🙏 what about a larger camera sensor and a telephoto lens for photographers?

  • I was happy when I saw that NOKIA is comming back... but no sd slot?? no headphone jack?? WHY THE HELL IS EVERYBODY GETTING RID OF THIS???? why is soooooo hard to have expandable memory and a goddamn 3,5 mm headphonejack..

  • and about 500 euro cheaper are u crazy dude look at the differences between prices u can buy this nokia mobile and a brand new laptop with descent specs with the price of s10+

  • This phone takes photos so slowly, you must wait it 20-25 seconds to record a photo.

  • LoooooooL.. more future proof than galaxy s10? Well.. now I can see who is the troll.. C'mon nokia 9 don't even have micro SD card slot.. no 3.5mm jack... And using a older Snapdragon Processor compared to galaxy s10

  • see the pixel 3 series ? Those phone also dont have 3.5mm jack and microSD slot...anddd with higher price tag. lol

  • Well guys this is the very best camera phone you can ever see in your life until anoother with SD855 will be unveiled and if. Only Xiaomi Mi9 which scored 107 points at Doxmark and has been set a a best camera phone until now can be comparable to this. Others so called to flagships and brands can go nuts with their camera. Nokia 9 pureview with its 6 cameras is gruesome.

  • nice name

  • No 3.5mm jack, no microsd slot as STANDARD. No buy. Simple as that even though the specs are top notch.

  • No thanks, I have Trypophobia.

  • Actually, nokia 9 is way more future proof then s10. You have no ideea what are you talking about. And by your comments i can saftly say. You do NOT own any Noki device, you are just a troll.

  • Try using a Samsung phone on the same price range of your Nokia 8.1 and you'll see for yourself the difference on their performances, from photography to optimization to battery back-up.

  • What is that on the back? A chicken pox??

  • It's the real Innovation. Others are just bunch of copy cats copying each other. I hope you earned your success. I'm afraid most people are just going after trends made by marketing of big companies.

  • We can say that nokia is far behind samsung.. and No, I haven't even used a single samsung phone yet.. Right now I own a. Nokia 8.1 and I was expecting nokia to do much better.. But they have failed.. yes failed.. becuz they are far behind its competetors.. And if you want to be the best, you have to do the best..

  • If you are able to spend money for nokia 9 then why not pay extra 30% for a better flagship? I mean samsung galaxy s10 is future proof... yes, why not?

  • It would be even greater if comes with micro SD card slot

  • flip was hoping for more just. they stick fantastic no 1 camera on year old parts and sell in one colour option, I'm sticking with my apple x max for now

  • this is a camera phone guys, don't complain it too much like old processor, no 3.5mm jack and others

  • this seems like a very solid phone. except for the processor and price, especially price i think this price point will be its downfall

  • Why no OIS....

  • 599 euro pre-order

  • Failed because of the chipset? Have you checked the price difference? How can you declare failure if you haven't use the two phones yet? -,-

  • costs much more, so its ok, if you compare them by value.

  • Ok , so basically what you are saying is that a 620eur phone is worse that a 940Eur phone. Do you thing it's even fair to put the phones in the same category? If your answer is yes, than the s10 would be the failure as it charges you around 30% extra, but are you actually getting your money's worth?considering that the differences are marginal at best...and that's being generous with samsung

  • A big failure flagship by HMD global.. Just see by yourself.. compare galaxy S10 nad you'll see nokia 9 as a big failed flagship.. You can do better nokia...

  • EUR 620 ??? Wtf !

  • Nice phone but sadly I don’t think they are going to bring back their iconic Nseries back - I just hoped they would but it looks like that will not happen...so sad

  • I used to have a nokia 1020 41MP beautiful beast. I'm excited about this one too and I would dive in head first if I didn't already have a new phone, the best one I could get.

  • Again they use some name (like Sirocco,3310 and 8110) and hoping to sell more phones. But actually there's nothing in common. Maybe they can try with N-gage as a gaming phone.

  • it has Zeiss lenses lol

  • and you want to move your data easy, in once second

  • because i don't want to put my pictures in googles hands, nor anyones. I don't want an internet connection to be able to look at them. I always buy a high speed sd card. started with 64gb on the s4 now my data are on a 128gb on s9 and i upgrade my phone every year. have all my pictures since the s4. with 20gb left. hopeing for faster cards with 256, since 128gb cards seems to be the max for fast cards

  • I want to see how it looks on my hands

  • Releasing a premium phone with snapdragon 845 and 3320 mah battery in 2019 is not a good idea...

  • Looks like a failure.

  • No OIS No Wide angle No telephoto No zoom No 4K@60p video Each photo takes 6-10 seconds to process

  • Nokia, I think you can do much better. Really like the idea of vanilla Android in a phone and the better features and functions of cameras. But find the below still lacking. Please release your next phone with addition of the following - 3.5mm jack - Good battery life (at least 4000 mAh battery) - Good durability (drop and screen won't crack easily etc)

  • But it has Li-Po not Li-on LI-PO is best then li-on

  • Please add "Dual Messenger" on your new product, Nokia !

  • Don't say that to me, I didn't own any Android Nokia phone. I was referring to this comment:

  • Always On Display :)

  • We must need xenon flash light for take better pictures in the dark. Like old nokia lumia 1020, n8. Otherwise Future devices comes with five or six cameras useless. Also requires front led for selfi cam.

  • So now Nokia is king of copycat for following no microSD card slot no headphone jack 3.5 and the rest of their phones also copied notch. lolol Nokia king of copycat

  • Whay any body need more than 128 g plus google drive account .it's a flagship from nokia with 620€ it is almost perfect bro.

  • No SD card, no buy :( Waited for this phone the whole year... Going with Galaxy then.

  • Even if the phone doesnt concept full screen display, still the design looks beauty and very elegant

  • The sample photos I have seen definitely don't suck. Go buy a phone with an inferior camera, it's your money.

  • Those cameras from that LG are just typical generic setup like any other Android flagships.

  • I just found out another interesting thing about the Nokia 9 phone-it uses the "always on display" option, meaning that HMD Global have bought back the patents for it for the Nokia brand, which is AWESOME news!!!"Always on display" is the core of the functionality of the "Glance screen", which Nokia started using from 2009 till the "Microsoft phones" era. Along with "Pureview" patent and trademark that was bough once again for the Nokia brand and hundreds of more patents that were previously owned by Nokia and bought back by HMD global from Microsoft last year, the brand is getting back step by step :) A lot of fantastic Nokia phones are yet to come!!!

  • Where is the Zeiss lenses? Are you blind? There's five Zeiss lenses

  • My long wait had gone futile. This phone must be the example of how to fuck up an impressive specs device. Putting a 3320 mAH to a SD845 ? What were they thinking? I owned a Lumia 1020 before and that was 2000 mAH and had to return it and a Lumia 1520 which was 3500 mAH which I used for 2 years. These manufacturers are a bunch of saddists.

  • It doesn't need OIS at all. It does not have telephoto lens that requires OIS. Having OIS just because of having OIS does not guarantee nothing. This phone will make shots better quality and more detailed than 95% of the phones with OIS in it.

  • I am sure that the battery won't last a day, it will be finish soon because of its 845 processor

  • Because cheap smartphones need not worry about ergonomics and fit in large batteries to sell their products. In high tier they need to keep the design aesthetic and can only fit in battery as much as it can take without compromising it's looks.

  • Actually, the only dissapointing thing about this device, is thst you are still here...commenting in a very useless manner...as always.

  • Absolutely agree, a xenon flash is a must have for any camera phone! And a camera phone without a camera bump looks lame. When you see a phone with a camera bump, you just know it's camera is a beast.

  • What kind of ugly sh*t phone is this?!

  • I've been waiting for this phone for over an year, using my old broken ducktape-fixed Xperia, just because of my high expectations for this one. I honestly didn't care how much this one would cost, as long as it was as good as I expected. And the camera setup really looks impressive. However, I have to say that I am fairly disappointed after reading its specs, as there are three MAJOR FLAWS with this phone that make me want to reconsider buying it: - no dedicated camera button (a must-have for every real camera-phone); - no adio jack (a must-have for every real Nokia phone); - no FM radio (another must-have for every real Nokia phone). These 3 epic fails seriously make me reconsider getting this phone. It seems that HMD has a rather wrong business strategy, as instead of trying to be different from what the other brands offer, by going for all the things that Nokia fans would expect of a Nokia phone - the things that would make it better and different than all the other crappy phones, it just follows the mainstream trends in putting all kinds of totally useless "extras" like fingerprint sensors and wireless charging, while removing totally useful things like the audio jack and the FM radio. The awesome camera and the well-built aluminum frame body are definitely a step in the right direction, but it will take much more than that to push through all the competition in the current market and stand out with a truly unique device - the extraordinary, the non-conformist, the ingenious, innovative, yet classic, standard-setting real Nokia flagship.

  • Sometimes you read comments of clueless people who don't understand how pure android works, how HMD has optimized the software of this phone, the work put in to make that camera Awesome! Always ready just to bash anything! I can assure everyone many people will be suprised how good this beast is going to be.

  • Disappointing phone to be the Nokia's flagship. Where is the Zeiss lenses?? Where is the awesome Pureview that I checked in Nokia 808 ??? Where is the dedicated button in a camera phone like this ??? For example today LG has presented the **LG V50 ThinQ 5G** and is a real monster in everything where this Nokia has nothing to do. As always Nokia, since it is from HMD arrives late and badly, with this flagsip of the year 2018, but not of the present day. What a pity!

  • I believe they could have added at least one wide-angle camera instead of 2 simple color sensor. And what I don't understand why the step back from the 4K front facing camera to Full HD. Anyway, they have made something others have not, so keep up the good work Nokia!

  • Ois anywhere?

  • You have to pay extra for 'premium' features like no headphone port and rubbish battery life.

  • almost bought it but battery 3320 vs rumored 4150, nokia why

  • Yeah my S9 has 3000mAh, when my new spare phone, the Moto G7 Power has 5000mAh!

  • I agree with you. If you don't have a dedicated picture button...it sucks!!! By tapping the phone when taking a picture -- you already messed up the focus and other things. I would add another flaw: no xenon flash light. I don't care bout these dual LEDs. They are pure garbage. Still miss my broken Lumia 1020 with decent zoom, picture stabilization and stunning classy pictures. I never cared about the bump on that camera. Instead everyone was asking me what kind of camera I used and they were stunned to discover that it was actually a phone too! Now it is a main stream phone. However, I still want to thank NOKIA and HMD for making this phone. Yes to real photography, yes to cool design, yes to 5 cameras, yes to solid aluminum body, yes to gorilla 5 glass, and yes to Nokia being unique phone yet again.

  • Stop lying men i have the 7 plus first Android wich came with phone IS 00000 But now battery well used fast strong nice look No issue since August

  • No headphone jack = no buy

  • i never understood why low end devices have 4000 and 5000 mah battery but high end have 3000 mah. surely that batter wont last long on this device

  • This phone is limited only, a number of Nokia 9 phones will be produced and once it's sold out, it's sold out.

  • This camera phone sucks, I knew that it'll be disappointing. Even chinese companies are better than "the new Nokia". Waiting for P30 Pro.

  • Why is no ois ??? My sadly......

  • Very similiar ? Are u blind ? Which part is similiar..lol

  • I've been waiting for this phone for over an year, using my old broken ducktape-fixed Xperia, just because of my high expectations for this one. I honestly didn't care how much this one would cost, as long as it was as good as I expected. And the camera setup really looks impressive. • In 2019 you don't need 3,5mm jack to listen to radio using headphones.... Good phone.

  • When you bring the 3.t jack... ill be back... skiiiiiiiip...

  • use adaptor for it and radio app. keep funding samsung....

  • Nokia could have put flash at center to give good look.

  • Too slow and too much problem... for a phone running on Android One? Like... seriously?

  • It's up for pre-order on the Nokia website for 599 euro.

  • Impressive phone

  • Time to remove this from my favourites...

  • I was a fan of Nokia, my last Nokia model was Lumia 730, Lumia 730 was a Good Mobile. I was very excited for Nokia 7.1 But not success Nokia. I am using Nokia 7.1, too slow and too much problem, not smooth. I think Nokia will not be able to come back.

  • disappointing specs. this phone is dead on arrival. nokia never learns.

  • verry similiar / copy design from Huawei mate 10 Pro.. still 2018 chipset performance.. good luck nokia.. ahhaa

  • No FM radio and no 3.5 jack. In Europe there are lots of FM radio stations and people who wants to use their 3.5 jack to listen to. I will look for another phone with this stuff.

  • 3.5mm jack = no ok skip this one

  • Nice phone but the lack of a headphone jack is a no.

  • Pocophone F1 is just a flagship-specced phone targeting budget-conscious consumer. This Nokia... isn't that... at all.

  • This won't even stand against Pocophone F1, forget 2019 devices

  • It would be priced at $699 official RRP.

  • This has to be the best indication Nokia is not on top of its game. Everyone including competition knew about this device as a concept, and yet they decided to launch it blend. They should learn from Sony. The market requires nothing less than the best cutting edge design and tech. Counting only on camera is lame. I sell phones and customers a strict when it comes to battery and bezels

  • is that a damn glass back?

  • lol at the 2016 design

  • The only problem with the motorcar is where do you put the harness..? -Said someone in 1896.

  • JoJo said it best: Too little too late..

  • finally

  • The ONLY problem is no headphone jack. Other than that, it is fantastic.

  • The phone looks good but 3320mah battery is so unimpressive and why the fuck they did that big chin even mine s8 2yrs old has smaller chin

  • This is buy of the year. For those who thinks like majority. Snapdragon 845 is top notch soc, capable of everything which is in current offering. Now ask yourself is 620EUR pricetag with flagship rate worth buying? I would say yea. Every other phone will be 150-300EUR more expensier. Is diff between Sn845 amd Sn 855 worth that? Yea i think it is. Granted the position of 5 cameras isnt good. It would be better in line of 5 cameras vertically or horizontally. Well i was thinking of XZ4 but now because of price i want to consider even Nokia 9 Pureview. Because of camera.

  • why Snapdragon 845 !

  • Its for photographers not for you.

  • Meh.

  • Year old chipset, small battery. 4000 mAh would have been great

  • nokia 9 used LG p-oled display

  • I think is good the battery though the battery is not that good. Also the back of the phone is a bit strange to me.

  • I'm only interested with the camera setup. I want to see if this particular Nokia is a worthy successor to the Nokia Lumia 1020/1520/930 and also the Microsoft Lumia 950/950 XL. If the photo quality is just the same as any other top-tier flagship Android, I won't be switching back to it at all!

  • Almost perfect ... nokia speaking now..... just waiting for the price

  • It is perfect bro ..

  • I'm not that concerned about the Snapdragon Qualcomm 845 vs. the 855. 5G will probably take longer to deploy than the hype the service providers are "promising". By the time 5G is fully built-out you'll probably be ready for your next smartphone upgrade. I like that the OS is "Android One" meaning no bloatware and rapid delivery of updates.

  • Why not?? If hmd priced it right and the camera deliver Top notch performance, it will be ok. And there is rumour about SD 855 version with 5G in the end of 2019, maybe...

  • I don't mind the older chip but no headphone jack... no go. Also the phone is just to wide.

  • Snapdragon 845 in 2019? Nokia must be high on shit! . At this price Samsung is offering Galaxy S10E with • Snapdragon 845 • Full Front Display • Headphone Jack

  • In same price segment, Samsung will definitely sell more Galaxy S10e than this Nokia 5 camera gimmick and 2018's processor.

  • I'm sorry, what?? FIVE CAMERAS?????? Mind = Blown

  • too bad, it's ALMOST perfect

  • The only downside for me is stock android But it is still a great phone

  • There's always the Huawei Mate 20X. It's got both.

  • Old is gold

  • Has almost everything, (Amoled Display, IP68, Huge Battery, Snapdragon 845, Android One, No Notch) No Headphone Jack Almost Perfect

  • I adore my V20. This *will NOT* have 3.5mm or IR I am 99% sure. Sadly, everyone is dropping IR and most are dropping 3.5mm. I will be using my V20 for a long, long time :(

  • Tell me one, which got AndroidOne!

  • Dedicated micro SD slot, 3.5 mm Jack and IR can make me switch from LG V20. Waiting for actual release for final specs, keeping fingers crossed.

  • Meh, 750 seems ok to me. It has great specs and looks. I wish they showed us camera demo.

  • Hybrid sim is no good. Dual sim and a dedicated SD card slot and I will buy it.

  • 750 EUR is overpriced. There are devices as good as this Nokia and cheaper.

  • This processor will be faster compared to the phones with the same processor because the android in nokia is pure. Other phones have a lot of bloatware and will be slower with this cpu.

  • Better Pixel than Pixel. Too bad price is that high. Comparing it with Pocophone...ok, no Nokia is better - better screen, cameras, but rest of the HW is similar. If Pocophone is about 300 euros Nokia should be about 500. But 750 is a bit too high IMHO.

  • This is the first phone that I will pre-order.

  • Shall we know the Camera features of it?

  • When we can accept Nokia 9 in Bahrain

  • February 24

  • When we can expect new Nokia?2020??

  • Whenever Nokia use word PureView.. There comes a legendary mobile... 😍😉

  • Phone doesn't known only for its processor. There are more key factors and one of them is the camera. If the camera is good and surpass all the available phones and even future phones which will release this year will clearly become a legend. See the Nokia 808 Pureview a legendary phone with legendary camera. Still it is compared with todays flagship. Having better processor is good to go but it will not become a legend because even other manufacturers implements the same processor and it is on discussion only a single year or 2. But camera quality lasts long. If even Nokia 9 camera having the best camera quality then other brands, people who want flagship 855 will surely wait for its successor to launch this year on july-august instead of buying S10. Just! marked my words.

  • True. The camera placement is similar to Note 8 but smasung offers a few things that nokia probably wont. 1. Good sound quality 2.Headphone jack 3.Customizable UI If Nokia 9 will deliver those then its another phone sold for them.

  • Awesome i am gonna get it

  • I am no Samsung hater but the 10 looks the same same same. Blocky camera placement and the logo all in shouting thick capitals needs overhauling and refining for such a long time.

  • Why doesn't Nokia company increase video speed of their camera to 960 fps?

  • He talks about - the electronic display Itself - in the Nokia 9 is 20mm higher then the one in the Nokia 8. Quite amazing.

  • Nokia is behind all of other manufactures, it produced mobile with last year technology in CPUs it's not desirable by customers.

  • The penta camera design won't be enough to steal the attention away from Samsung S10 or Sony XZ4. Especially in the absence of SDM 855. I have always liked Nokia phones but i fear this one will be a disappointment.

  • Zeiss is arguably the best camera lens available, Leica would be a close runner-up. Camera sensors are usually one of the IMX ones made by Sony. The true differentiator is the software: the postprocessing of photos, the camera app which comes preinstalled on the phone.

  • One main camera, one telephoto and one Ultrawide are enough on the back indeed Nokia should focus on bringing back the old camera magic they had in the Symbian and Lumia days. Also no headphone jack is a big drawback for this along with not having the latest chipset.

  • Dude, it is like 15mm taller than 8 Sirocco and 3mm taller than 8. Where did you get 20mm from. And I would rather have a taller phone than a notch. But yes I wish it was more compact (5.5" screen is more than enough, unless you are using ur phone as screen in a movie theater (-_-)), I have been looking for something compact for quite a while and besides Sirocco and iPhone X, nothing clicked for me. Hoping that the price of Sirocco goes down after pureview launches. Samsung Galaxy 10e looks like it will be quite compact too, but it sure will be pricey.

  • Am I the only one or does this look like LG G6 minus the camera design. Love LG G6, and its minimalist design. If this pureview had small form factor (compact), would have been the dream phone for me.

  • Big bezels? Two more centimeters real screen height compared to Nokia 8. Two centimeters!

  • fUgly design. Big bezels, No Stereo Sound, No Headphone Jack, No Apt X, Last year SD 845 instead of SD 855 (they could've done it but no), and 5 Cameras is a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge gimmick. Please no. This will just get Nokia in a worse situation. Damn I miss the old Nokia. Now after HMD Bought it, it's even worse.

  • I'm so looking forward to this phone, last nokia phones I had were the 6500 slide and 5800 xpress music. All htc since 2012

  • the lenses are described in the shape of a flower petal

  • Wait for what? What will be the benefit of that (three-digit number)?

  • So sad, i would not be able to purchase the phone when it finally comes out. Those lenses give me the creeps...#Trypophobia

  • Nokia 9 is not for you wait for its successor with 855 till end of July. Nokia 9 Pureview is the real camera beast. They have spend more time on that phone surely it will not disappoint at all.

  • i agree with you. who needs a.i nor leica optics if you have ziess optics. smartphone users now a days they don't know anything. they just stick to the bandwagon world.

  • your must be blind and have a little knowledge huawei fan boy. nokia is the king of camera even if it uses only one camera sensor?didn't you know that?your huawei need to use multi camera to capture 40mp quality image which has a painting output everybody knows that except those fan boy as you. now nokia is creating a more above and out of the boundary of what their camera tech is all about.

  • Attuly samsung is afraid to nokia .what is doing nokia next know.new phones hardware and software.

  • The cost and time spending for tuning 6 cam is not efficient. 1or2 big cam is far better than 6 cheap cam. P20pro is a good example that a large size of sensor can easily get a great picture quality with a just fine tuning skill

  • Last year's flagship specs is this year's mid-range phone. Price it accordingly, or be disappointed.

  • ziess can do it even without that a.i gimmick. i'm a programmer i know what is happening inside the phones what line of codes are running into it but 80% of the population of the world they just look at phone on the looks on the hype by other people bandwagon is the term.

  • No headphone jack, no buy, period.

  • I'm not kidding, I'm asking if it has artificial intelligence as the Huawei P20, for example because for that price I suppose that this feature will be implemented, because otherwise it would be a fraud.

  • The user must have intelligence. (Kidding) We will see more details when it appears.

  • really? why you just wont go and make the same spec device and see if it can be 500-550!

  • i know for sure it is not because of water/dust proof! it's some stupid trends which has been started by stupid fruit company!

  • If it has Expandable Storage,SD 855,Apt - X,a fair price and a great camera, will be worth it. If not then forget this.

  • You're better off waiting for another 20 years (or so)

  • Does it has artificial intelligence ??

  • Ant+ yesssss I need it to control m'y smart trainer!

  • What are you talking about, first Nokia is a Finnish company, and the fact that there is no 3.5mm jack is because of water/dust proof like many others company who did the same as Samsung, Apple, Motorola and the future generation of LG phone... its is not safe to add a jack with brass connection inside when you in to water it result with fast corrosion inside and connection problem, if the corrosion spread you phone cant stay stuck in headphone mode !!

  • Expecting price would be 500-550 USD.

  • They even removed 3.5mm...

  • Nokia is a Chinese brand, that is why no 3.5mm jack...

  • 1 depth sensor... isnt that also a camera lens? i mean other brand such as huawei called it "camera" even though that one cannot capture a picture separately

  • I love reading this comment after knowing that the price of this phone is 885$

  • Nokia (HMD) has no Economic chains, so it's not lucrative to provide a high-end device. However, after 2 years they decided to (almost) do it with Nokia 9. A bit innovating, hope to reach the top in camera listings (dx0mark). Chip 845 instead of 855 is to keep the price in a rational level, because nobody will spend over 800€ for a Nokia device at this time.. For me is the next device! :)

  • There is a micro sd card slot , supports up to 512 Gb cards. The Nokia 9 has 128 Gb storage already onboard. Who said there will be not a dual sim version? The only downside 4 me would be a glass back. Hate that. Dealbreaker! Would be great if Nokia birthed an shick free water resustant Rugged phone!

  • Nother Flop Product by nokia. Great specs but in 2019 Nokia is still giving Hybrid SIM.. Comeon nokia, learn from mistakes u made in past. full time dual sim and dedicated Micro SD slot is necessity in 2019.

  • Wireless charging !!, must be back glass not metal

  • Nokia: Always staying one step behind due to their hubris of "we were the best once upon a time"

  • This would have been an excellent phone, If it was launched 2 years ago. But the 855 is around the corner now and it seems that by the time this phone will be at the shelves, so will the S10 750euros if flagship territory, but late flagships now go beyond 1000. Another piece of concerns are the bezels, yes there is a pretty vocal minority with hands as big as Bigfoot's who need those bezels, but just look at this chin! Somebody who pays a premium and buys this chin in 2019 will look so outdated and the phone itself looks so cheap and faulted, even other cheap Chinese phones don't look so bad. Since they went huge bezels, why didn't they at least keep the 16:9 format, which is a format since appreciate so much, that could help living with the compromise those bezels mean. Bold move from the Chinese to launch such a phone with the 845, such bezels and charge it more than twice as the pocophone, they really believe that ppl would buy anything has the Nokia stamp on it...

  • Because it had be 2018 flagship phone, but they had to have some problems and relase it now

  • I miss the Xenon flash. I thought this would come with it. Too bad....

  • No 3.5mm no buy...

  • Exactly! I love what Nokia is doing but they need to keep the phone at a reasonable price! I'm assuming because of all those cameras they think pricing it high is reasonable but a Google Pixel 3 would do just as good or even better at the same price...

  • Yes it should have sd855 to compete with other flagships like the Samsung s10 and Huawei p30 and iphone xs Even if that means it will cost more

  • need nouch display

  • Ha ha ha ha

  • It has sd845, and sd845 doesn't have 5g capabilities. So, it will not have 5g. It is going to be a masterpiece from Nokia.

  • Is this the first 5G model from Nokia?

  • Why does Nokia HMD keep releasing high-end/flagship phones with the previous year's processor?

  • Exactly! I love what Nokia is doing but they need to keep the phone at a reasonable price! I'm assuming because of all those cameras they think pricing it high is reasonable but a Google Pixel 3 would do just as good or even better at the same price range with a single lense. So around €500-€600 would be great.

  • There will be no radio because you need to have a headphone jack for it to work as an as antenna. I personally could live with that but all high-end phones like LG and Samsung can offer 32 bit audio. I am glad that they're moving to an amoled screen so there is that! It still is a promising phone. But I am not sure about a 740 Euro price point when I can get an S9 for that!

  • Die hard fan spotted.

  • No you haven't!!

  • not soon enough...

  • WHEN,WHEN.WHEN??? I've been waiting for a year...

  • rds fm radio??

  • If Nokia 9 Pureview is the smart phone of the year i will laugh at you as you were the Joker of the year to disagree on this

  • this is not just a rumor this is a joke wait for real phone and you will see

  • 1 camera with huge sensor and 1 super lens with premium optics would have done the job. Yea and a huge camera bump. :) Reality: Oh no 5 computerized tiny cams. prepare for synthetic photos. :(

  • Wish it had upcoming SnapDragon chip and IR blaster to change channels in local gym. Alas!

  • I need DOC edit ...

  • The 4150mAh battery is the most exciting spec

  • Not sure

  • It's an SD 845, what are you talking about 450?? Wish it had the 855

  • Pretty shame to unveil the new flagship in Jan 2019 with SD 450 and no future 5G support...

  • Doar Something with the spune... Please like Dolby digital/ atmos, better eq. More Hz.

  • Single camera of predessors cant take better shots & now into.5, almighty, take me up.

  • Really ?

  • Absolutely, we need only one camera with big sensor like dslr.

  • If is a hybrid phone....i am not buying.

  • Good joke, my friend! :-)

  • 2k display is unnecessary for a screen under 6 inches

  • Why no document or editor, HMD? We need this feature so much.

  • we don't need 5 or 6 camera. we need one cmaera with big senzor like dslr. and all is done. by one big objectiv.

  • i hope this phone will be The Smart Phones of the year

  • not rumor anymore

  • its just rumour

  • Nice schematic of Rus·sian rou·lette on back panel !!

  • Yes! No 60 fps in 4k = FAIL. It is such a big difference between 4k in 60 fps and only 30 fps. 60 fps = real life cam, 30 fps = sloth cam. I will never buy smartphone other than 4k 60 fps. I have Galaxy S9 and 4k60 mode is simply fantastic. Stuff looks sharp, always in focus.

  • nokia 9 must have 4k video resoution 60FPS!!!and must have Snapdragon 855

  • I personally consider that one camera is enough for a phone. The selfie camera it's ok. But lot of cameras us stupid.

  • Curved edge design just like sirroco please

  • Ir blaser please

  • I hope this will come with sd 855 and 5G and 32 bit audio

  • I mean when!! Overall great phone but, for less than 700 euro

  • Who you see sd855 inside it, get 9 for sure

  • i think its also come on nxt year with 5G

  • If they didn't launched it by now don't bother relaesing it anymore. At least not with a snapdragon 845. Use the new 855 if you want people to buy it. Otherwise is gonna be Nokia sirocco all over again. Alll the people expect a new chip in 2019 not a 2018 chip. Unless you're planning to sell it at 300-400 dollars. Like a Xiaomi pocophone

  • will N9 be 5G compatible???

  • It is IP68 dust/water proof (up to 1.5m for 30 mins)

  • No waterproof ? why nokia is doing like this ?

  • Uhhhhhhh !!!!!!!!!! 5 cameras !! This is a 'cameras nightmare'. To here are coming the smatphones? 5 cameras? Instead of pliable phones, more and many more cameras.

  • I'm fan of Nokia since 2006, and my first Nokia smartphone was Nokia 9500 communicator. Any Nokia device you use is just carefully designed and crafted. Plus Nokia creates phone for every taste and every circumstances. Last year I needed a small phone in the style of a Nokia 3310 or something closed to that, I tried 3 of other marks and none of them was good enough for me because Nokia put the bar too high. The Samsung Galaxy and IPhone really make some good jobs. But at the end I never run after their just-released models. But for this Nokia 9, I think I'm saving some of my Christmas money to make sure I'll get that model when it comes out.

  • Been using Nokia for 20 years. In terms of quality, Nokia has never fail me. Comparing all my friends owing other brands, and myself with IT background(Computer), they always come to me for solutions with their faulty branded phones. But my Nokia still going strong despite falling over 10 times with only minor edge scratches. Throughout these years, I have owed few Nokia phones. None of them had fail, but simply upgrading as I love their camera technology. Both Nokia and Huawei are into network solutions. Compare them with other brands on network speed. Only bad OS in Nokia history, and now they are on Android, can't wait for this Nokia 9.

  • haha, you are right. this people needs to be brought to mars

  • But you will pay $750 for a different phone that's exact same specifications. It's people like you that I find really annoying.

  • And then you pay 2000$ for an iphone

  • Oh.. Thanks

  • because it's Nokia. I won't pay 750$ for a nokia.

  • Waiting for this masterpiece

  • All brands are introducing new devices except Nokia, which will launch this Nokia 9 at the end of 2020 ... :-DDDD That is called reaching the Android market in time !!! And especially now that the Christmas dates arrive, what a disaster, my mother!

  • No 3.5 no buy...

  • Why no 960fps?

  • No 3.5 jack, no buy! Nokia, don't be stupid by following the stupidity of Apple...

  • good phone bad fps

  • 3.5 mm jack dont remove that nokia

  • How Nokia 9 Upgraid 5g

  • this is a great phone...

  • Very expensive. At this price point i'wd buy a great DSLR and a decent Android phone. This phone should be below 50K Indian Ruppes.

  • Purchased a Nokia 7.1 two weeks ago and I am satisfied with the experience so far. Excellent build quality for a $350 mid budget phone. Definitely looking forward to what Nokia can bring to the table when they decide to release this flagship.

  • I like the size of the battery and the overall specs but they must put IR Blaster and FM Radio. What about the frame rate? we also need more 60 to 120fps Nokia must not base on cameras as a selling feature but must include other features that are being left out by others.

  • For God sake people! It is not official yet and GsmArena is just filling out blank lines in the device description! Just take all of these specifications with a grain of Salt. I hope it will be the winning turning point for Nokia in the smartphones world though again like the phones of Old

  • Nokia 9 must edit DOCs ...

  • so this comes with 5 cameras in the back but the quality is : 30 fps ??? seriously

  • Dimensions: 155 x 75 x 7.9 mm. Is this true? If it is so, then it is a little big when you consider 5.9 screen size, because if you see dimensions of Samsung S9 and LG G7, screen to body ratio is big.

  • 6 cameras 0 jacks Welcome to the phones of 2018

  • I'm looking forward this phone. Main reason? I want flagship with Android One (but I'd rather not pay Pixel price tag). While I am very happy with my work phone, LG G7 ThinQ, the thing still runs Android 8. 8.1 hasn't been released and will most likely be skipped, and 9 should be released... at some unspecified point. I really loved how my Nexus 5X was receiving minor and major updates soon after available. Samsung, LG and other OEMs who insist on "making Android their own"... are just creating an issue in my eyes. I always use default Google apps... not because I am Google loyalist, but because I have preferred these apps to custom OEM options, so far. Modified OS, for me, doesn't have benefits - only introduces infrequent updates.

  • QI - one thing that is still missing...

  • GOOD!!!

  • Very very nice phone. I big fan of Nokia. Penta camra is better

  • I hope they don't do that, adding monochrome or depth sensor are just a marketing gimmick since it can be achieved using software . hopefully they make some proper use with it and make it amazing

  • Must have DOC edit !!!

  • I think the five cameras could be...main ca?era, ultra wide angle.,monochrome, telephoto and depth sensor

  • Pocophone fans? More like pocophone bots (Maybe, paid commenters)

  • No 3.5 no buy

  • A step in right direction as far as wildly growing sizes are concerned. Still a tad larger, wider, and bulkier than ideal one say 150mmx70mmx7.5mm weighing around 150-160 gms for a classic to become. Multi Camera setup does look ridiculous too. Even smaller bezels or no bezels ideally would be greatly likable. Thank God there are’nt as many flashes the company of cameras phone keeps! Lets hooe Nokia can gel good become better. No comments on internals, and other tech issues as we the commoners are concerned with good handling, looks and overall performance only and certainly there are’nt any prizes for shooting pro pics with mobile phones. Those are best left to Dslr nd pro stuff. Yes, fast charging nd lasting batteries are a boon to us all.

  • Wait for a while the price will surely drop, or get a second hand. You'll be happy.

  • nokia is beast period respect to the ancestor :d

  • Laser Autofocus

  • I don't like this phone by Nokia but you are laughable as well, every phone is a RUMORED phone before it comes out, just like your Pocophone moths before it got released, it is NON-EXISTENT, and many user have reported issues about its battery and cover, so don't come too clean about Poco since it will never be one of Xiaomi's reputable release

  • With this features, this Nokia 9 should come with 6.3 inches display.

  • You xiaomi fanboys are annoying AF. Nokia here tries to innovate, xiaomi only can do cheap copycats of existing products! Boring and lame brand!

  • Nokia have got only loses and dismisses employees. Xiaomi is a brand that does not stop selling and growing. That's what you compared. And for value for money, the Pocophone F1 is infinitely better than this NON-EXISTENT Nokia 9. By the way, instead of 6 cameras, I think that in that design there could be fourteen, believe me ..... X-DDDDDDDDD

  • Current processors won't allow that. SD 845 can only take up to 7.

  • Good luck then. See in few months. My iPhone XS Max and Note 9 is laughing their asses out. Cheap internals= disaster.

  • It's some kind of sensor.

  • For symmetry purposes. Look at the other side of that hole, its the LED flash and it's color is white. The 7th hole is colored black. LOL that is what it is I think.

  • I really hope there is some actual notable benefit to having 5 cameras as otherwise it is just more hardware making the device both heavier and more expensive. I am with Google on this one and think there should be more focus on software alternatives.

  • Pocophone?!and many compared poco with nokia... it is really laughable. I am nokia old user,i have worked with all brands and i swear that nokua quality is far better than poco, huawei, xiaomi and... even samsung or lg Nokia, htc and apple products are far better than other and i push them in grade "A+" after nokua, htc and apple you can see huawei, samsung,lg,sony in grade a realm, Please don't compare many cheap quality brands like pocophone and other with nokia.if like poco and want it so go to poco page and buy it, After many months i will see you.:D

  • Umm. Explain why you don't like Nokia, when they have some of the best android phones?

  • Good luck with that one, almost everyone is killing the jack.

  • I want this phone but i cant afford it i think i will stuck with my nokia 5

  • No 3.5mm audio jack = No deal

  • let me know what advantage did you get by making your apps open just 1/2 sec faster? Phone will be outdated in few months if it didn't get software support. Even i had same experience when i have used cheap quality products with better SOC. It feels good when start but after few months things will get even worse the phone will never perform well when it was before as well low quality internals will make even bad envy from others. There is no better wifi coverage and better network connectivity with this cheap quality internals and not a great display as well. We should expect a better build quality flagship with quality and flagship level internals which is long lasting and perform well like before.

  • let me know why?

  • I'm waiting for a Nokia phone with a sliding full screen like the mi mix 3 & honor magic 2 & lenovo z5 pro

  • jesus christ nokia please STOP producing smartphones .. u had your chance and time u been big .. u can't again u would have to rename yourself

  • Have you been drinking ethanol?

  • Nokia please calm down, this is getting excessive.

  • just want to say Woooooowwwwwwww

  • nokia plz no hybrid sim plz.

  • Its IR range Finder . It helps to autofocus faster by determing the distance.

  • 5 unspecified cameras + 1 depth sensor + LED = 7 holes but specs are still rumors so we cannot identify the holes yet.. who knows.. hahah

  • Probably for Laser focus.

  • Not released

  • the seventh hole for what ?? not a camera neither flash too ... empty hole or what

  • I already have the Pocophone F1 in my possession, and I know what I'm talking about because it's real, and the Nokia 9 is NOT real simply because it does not exist. I laugh at you because you are talking about a phone that does NOT exist ... where is that Nokia 9? Where can I buy it?. Let's see, tell me ... aH! that does not exist ..... oooohhhh ..... hahahaha.

  • No headphone jack = No buy.

  • epic !!!!!😀😀😀 #####from unknown source :------ now another smart phone brand preparing to announce a phone with 10 cameras😂😂😂&amp;#128514;

  • Nope, we don't envy you .. We pity you for your ignorance .. Good Luck for knowing nothing my friend .. I wish for your happiness .. hahahahahaha XD

  • Pocofans are the worst! They are everywhere!

  • Hahaha ... how bad is envy !!! I am enjoying my Pocophone F1 like never before, and instead people like you will still have to wait many months (or just do not wait because it will never go on sale) to a phone that does not even exist. So keep waiting, my friend ...

  • A person like you compare phone only by its Processor? nothing else? What about display? Camera? Sound Quality? Audio Recording(NOKIA OZO)? Better network coverage? Better Build quality? Who will buy the cheap phone with cheap quality internals?

  • Look at me, I'm gonna bash on a phone because 'muh no more 3.5mm headphone jack'. Most new phones now do not have that 3.5mm headphone jack, get over it. It's a good size phone, with more than decent RAM, a good camera, and a 4150 mAh battery too. Nokia is not failing, they are competitive in the mid-range market, and this looks to be a good flagship phone for them to build on.

  • Why not uses snapdragon 855

  • the camera looks alien. SCARY!!

  • You have a point there but is there any professional camera that you can use for calling, send sms, post your pictures in social media, browse the net and can just put in your pocket?

  • I can't wait for this monster to come out! I think this will beat every other smart phone maker when it comes to camera, seriously. HMD may be a newbie, but this doesn't mean they are weak.

  • LOL so they dare remove the 3.5mm jack despite the fact that they are barely in top 10 of world smartphone sellers? Happy failing...again!

  • Great work by the designers of HMD Nokia: It is a LG G6 front !!!! :-p

  • Contrary to popular belief, the phone design looks pretty fascinating and unique to me.

  • 5 cameras? Nokia 9 should have 9 cameras, 5 is not enough

  • so,this is the real 'nokia 9' ?

  • Better than Nokia 8 Sirocco although it still does not have a 3.5mm jack as STANDARD to make it a complete all-rounded phone as a cheaper flagship alternative.

  • If the dimension is true, it is almost identical with Nokia 6

  • This is not phablet dude

  • If somebody want to take a picture for more advanced way, why don't they using a professional camera instead of buying an expensive phone with multiple camera lenses, but on the same price mirrorless camera will do better than phone camera.

  • Back looks funny😂😂

  • no such thing as frienx or not

  • NO Radio, NO 3,5" Sound Jack ??? I am NOT buying it!!! And the Battery should have been a Li-Po >= 4900mAh, at the very least!!!!

  • Xiaomi Pocophone F1 450 EUR cheaper ... and almost the same features. Nothing else to say.

  • This is not a joke bro. We call that technology. It's time to re champion of Nokia

  • nice nokia keep up the work you've been in first place years ago you have to get back on track and thank you for not putting that fufly notch....

  • what a wonderful and surprising phone

  • Enough cameras for this year, We start in january with this fist phone with two cameras, now we are in 6 and this is not the end... My friend Hamza want one of this or a Razer phone i'm waiting the gift before crismas please, and for FREE ^^

  • Not sure whether the rumor is true, but the back side looks funny..

  • Once released and compared to Note9, I just might give up my Note for this one. Maybe...

  • 3.5mm jack No Yet another joke phone...

  • design and specs are good, but the screen is too narrow. as wide as only a 5.3" (16:9) phone. it should be equivalent to a 5.7" (16:9) display that is around 6.8"-6.9" in 19.5:9 ratio

  • Shit, atleast would remove chin and addad curved glass when it would be fantastic phone

  • Old design it's better than Notch mainstream smartphone, not bad for Nokia. Also 5 camera. Good job Nokia.

  • An old model

  • No. No. No. No hybrid dual sim slot, only dedicated dual sim slot with dedicated memory card slot.

  • these rumor specs are very old now, nokia 9 is going to be named as 'nokia 9 pure view'.it will have insane 5 cameras at the back according to some leaked pictures,it might have a notch as well, but sd 845 is an obv thing for a 2018 flagship

  • A 750 Euro phone with a 5.5" screen 13mp/4g ram I'm sorry I'm just not seeing that. This thing has to compete with Apple at that price point and these specs do not do that. LG with their 32 bit quad DAC has better audio for hundreds less. It's not enough to throw 5 cameras on the thing if the rest is mediocre at best.

  • Your username perfectly matches my feelings about this phone...

  • v a p o r w a r e

  • i'll do with 1 pureview unit with zeiss glass and no software f**ks

  • Sorry I meant the NOKIA 9 not the note 9

  • I noticed GSMARENA has the tendancy of not updating their Rumor Mill section. It is the most interesting section, yet it is so neglected. The note 9 has been rumored since the begining of 2018 before the 845 came out..that's why it says 835. There are lots of phone with details already out and they are not even in here. too bad :(

  • Sorry, typo. 850 I meant

  • They cannot be serious, right? I only hope that this is a joke or some mis-information. 835???? Come on, we are waiting for 855 an ytime now..

  • An upcoming phone, not yet released with 835 Snapdragon (!!!), 5.5'' display (!), no radio, and 3250 battery (!!!!!). On top of those grrrreat specs price tag of 750 euros !!!!!!!!! I'll buy four.....

  • Your just an hater Nokia is always a boss and will forever be

  • My favourite company nokia is comeback, and go top poistion once again thanks to hmd global

  • 5 camera and notch.That right

  • Can't wait for the five-camera setup! And that's just on the rear...

  • To a point the comment is irrelevant. Besides the fact that the two companies work closely together and in the same precinct. What matters is adhering to manufacturing practices under licence and the guidelines they agreed on. Many of the worlds very best companies manufacture under licence. In that respect HMD / Nokia have delivered and are doing an amazing high-quality job on a well thought out direction, honoring and respecting the base from which they represent. I am looking towards their next flagship and beyond.

  • Why would it be over... HMD is accross the street of the Nokia HQ, employs lots of people from the original Nokia (ranging from management, engineers, ... to all levels), has the same spirit, ... so why would be it over ? Just because it is named HMD instead of Nokia ?

  • Nokia is gone, but HMD Global manufactures quality phones. I wanted to try first buying a Nokia 5 and it gave me so much satisfaction that I ended up buying a Nokia 8. I am totally satisfied with my new phone and would not change it for another.

  • So eventually Nokia 9 was not announced the 21st.

  • Everyone keeps referencing the old Nokia & how it was before, their reputation & solid devices, setting the standard, etc. That very well may have been but understand... that Nokia is gone... get it? It is a wholly different company now; just HMD just using their name and credibility; not the same company whatsoever and never will be. Move on.

Move on.

  • I think it has

  • Nokia 9 is coming, August 21st. Please, no notch...

  • yeah. and where is the damn dedicated camera shutter you guys used to implement even in low end phones? is a sin.

  • It's not Nokia's fault, blame it on HMD Global.

  • Come on Nokia... where is your new flagship device ? All I see are ads for low/mid end devices while competition shows one high-end after the other device on GSM arena. You could at least support the rumours a bit more and tease the public. If there's no news the coming weeks I'll move away from Nokia again... too slow !

  • Nokia should start being a road maker as it was before. Not as "poster-child" for consumerism but for builder of user friendly phones. 1. Battery MUST be user removable/changeable. 2. Qi

  • True, but it has its fair share of stuff that other phones have whereas it doesn't

  • Now that I think about it, why hasn't anybody tried to challenge Samsung with their own Note version?

  • Lol these specs are added since the rumors of this phone began somewhere in 2017, also these specs are not even official because this phone is only a rumor.

  • these are unofficial, not confirmed.

  • Great.. Nokia is really back. however I'm looking forward to a Nokia with a 'note' feature and of course with pen

  • This spec is shit. Nokia 8 and 7 plus has better spec than this.

  • Hey there , nobody will listen on write this but i must say it becouse i know i do this. Wish "NOKIA"will get same respect like beffore , but they will not. I am "Nokia"user and first i have 2100 i think, next i get Nokia N8. So great phone still im use it . When i look new "Nokia"phones i glad it but some features was still not in use ... I use symbian phone, and some features was not support symbian any more ?! New "Nokia" dont support old features like some one simple like FM trasmitter ?! No one smartphone have these ?! Old "Nokia"have these ... Old = New ?! I will stick whit old i gues, when they overcome old standart maybe i will buy Nokia again. Still i hope so they will do it !

  • Nokia 9 should have a physical sliding QWERTY keyboard to match the phones in the Nokia 9xxx series LOL

  • This should be removed from rumor mill and added back when there are real leaks of it. These specs were originally rumors for Nokia 8 Sirocco, not Nokia 9.

  • HTC u12+ is better option

  • I think it will have Snapdragon 845. Since, Nokia used snapdragon 660 on Nokia 7 plus, which is latest processor and only three phones have used it. If Nokia is using latest technology. I am sure that Nokia 9 will have Snapdragon 845.

  • shut off this phone, its already outdate

  • Last Nokia flagship was realised in September,so expect that 9 will also be presented in September. So many rumors it will have 3 cameras and xenon flash- if its true that would be the xenon flash(its much more powerful than led flash on all other androids and iphones) on android- but this wont be. a first xenon for Nokia, they already had it befire on their windiws phones mobiles, and it wont be the first Nokias 40 mp(they say even more) camera, they already had two nodels with 40 mp(so,it was long before Huawei p20 Pro); they also say it will have 2k OLED screen and even 8 gb of ram! But these are all speculations yet,we must wait for September.

  • Someone that I replied to

  • Who says it has a SD835 ?

  • ASUS ZenFone 5z is 500-700USD! :)

  • HERE Maps is free ;) you can find it on play store

  • why would you be so outraged by 750 price for a flagship?

  • According to NKPU this would be a new device for later this year with Snapdragon 845, in-screen fingerprint reader, a new camera system, ... PS1. Time for Nokia to get a better naming for their phones because this is really confusing. PS2. There would also be a Nokia 8 Pro later this year (with Snapdragon 845).

  • NOKIA!REALLY?750€???? Look in your dream xD

  • Is this still a yet to be released phone or is it and Nokia 8 Sirocco now one in the same?

  • I would love this to be a little bigger but price is more important

  • Support for 5G? Yeah it will have it in 2025.

  • I went and read the FCC filing, and it supports a pretty interesting set of frequency bands. It supports WCDMA 1700Mhz. This band is used only by T-Mobile USA. Thus, we can conclude the phone will be widely available here in the states. The phone supports LTE Band 12. T-Mobile pressures makers not to include LTE Band 12 in USA bound phones without first getting T-Mobile certifications. Most makers - including Nokia - bow to this pressure. Thus, we can conclude that the phone will have T-Mobile certification and thus VoLTE. The phone also supports LTE Band 13, but I don't know why. This is used only by Verizon. But the phone doesn't support CDMA. So it isn't a Verizon phone. The phone DOES NOT support LTE Bands 25 and 26. These are Sprint bands. The phone should work nicely on AT&T or T-Mobile, but it is not a all-carrier phone.

  • not really but for the sake of it you can get a phone with 8GB just to say 8GB is better than 4GB although u may never use them, you may never know "why" it should be better and paying extra because you can

  • if it has SD835 ...no

  • will it support 5G ?

  • Bo dedicated slot and no autofocus and OIS for both the front cameras. HMD, please do not spoil the name of Nokia.

  • This phone is not even yet official. Specs mentioned here are plain guessing and there will be specs added when the phone is released. Wireless charging will be on this phone, don't worry about that.

  • So it is not January 19, 2018, it is MWC 18 we see this phone right? or later than that?

  • HERE is a separate company now, they have to ask for permission first or sign a contract. It's still available on Play Store for free though.

  • No wireless charging??? No free HERE MAPS navigation??? My 5 year old Nokia Lumia 920 has these features... WTF?

  • When its going to be release ?

  • just rumor only lol

  • Overdue birth!

  • Plus $750 Eur for these specs is outrageous nowadays...

  • Come on and make a phone with a 5.7" or bigger screen...

  • Should be 6 gb minimum

  • 4gb ram is not good

  • this is infinity display ?

  • Carl zeiss optics not compared with other phones .nokia camera is the best

  • Too expensive with a limited features like it..........better LG G6 plus more cheaper but more higher on spec.

  • Nokia androind phones are lacking a lot of the older nokia features that made them great, know they seemed too simple they need more software improvments in many sectors so they can have a better chunch against their compertitors.

  • Love you bro!!!!

  • Power or bateraiy capacity 4500/5000 good

  • heremaps were sold to audi/bmw/mercedes

  • 13mp/5mp quite left behind... no radio also... bat 3250mah only..

  • old is gold nokia is really good in future and present

  • lg v30 is with f/1.6 & f/1.9 dual camera so nokia 9 must be also with f/1.6 camera & selfie camera must have ois

  • Forget about history! Who's ruling now : Samsung!!

  • I guess father of fathers was Motorola, do research about history of cellphones

  • there is no big differences than nokia 8

  • Finally tha father of fathers is back with big one yeah

  • No, it's not "Super AMOLED" (Trademark of Samsung), but can be called an AMOLED. P-OLED can have active matrix , too.

  • Well then it's not AMOLED then. It's P-OLED

  • Shhh...bigger numbers makes him happy

  • how big are your hands?

  • Carl Zeiss is BACK!!!

  • THEY must sport the primary camera with f/1.7 the secondary camera must have OIS

  • hey nokia, bring back pureview and clear black display plus your Here Maps.

  • 10,000 mAh? lol. That's a massive battery. How much does it weigh?

  • Uhm.........no.

  • where did you get the 10,00mAH information from...

  • Change the rumor specs to latest now according to fcc

  • Their screen is from LG, not Samsung.

  • I am a fan of NOKIA and I know the specs from this phone. It will had 2.9 ghz and 1.9 ghz. It camera will had 20mp not 13mp. And it will had 8GBRam and 10000mAh.

  • Nokia Announced Screen 5.7"

  • So a 5.7" screen is fine, but a 5.5" screen isn't? You do realise that there is literally barely any difference between those two dimensions, right?

  • 5.5" screen is useless... 5.7 to 6.0 or no go...

  • Samsung has not supplied an AMOLED 18:9 QHD+ screen to any other OEM. Why would they suddenly do it now?

  • Xiaomi mi mix 2 got 8gb of ram with snapdragon 825, thats a monster!

  • !!!! Snapdragon 845 for next Nokia 9 !!!!

  • This almost identical to Nokia 8? Nokia 9 is going to have to drastically improve specs to have any influence on the consumers.

  • Oh my, Being biased and loyal to nokia, with that specs brands like oneplus or Xiaomi are going to rule the next decade

  • In the event an editor happens to be reading this: there was a more recent report (unverified, of course) about both the possible launch date and some of the preliminary specifications, some of which are different from the ones on this page. Source:

  • Snapdragon 845 !!!

  • if they really planning to go only with a 4gb ram option, then they can go and piss themselves! peace

  • Unofficial preliminary specifications

  • Dear Nokia. Thank you from US, for selling as cases for Nokia 9 .Will be a good gift for friends and family for Holidays.

  • Fingerprint scanner -- front mounted???? I think there is not enough space for fingerprint scanner in front side of Nokia9.

  • According to the specs above, it is IP68 certified. Which screen aspect ratio works best, depends on the intended use case. Most video on the web is in 16:9 format.

  • It should be ip68 certified. If nokia should give camra feature like Lumia camera it will better. 18:9 compelsury

  • New Images of Nokia 9 Dummy appear in the custom cases/covers listings in UK now. Check them via ->

  • I think it's gonna be better with 6/8gb ram, 128/256gb rom + microsd slot, snapdragon 845 and 18:9 screen ratio, dual speakers are also good idea.

  • Nokia 9's release date, please ??? Anybody could provide us more information about this device ???

  • NOKIA - be original as you used to be !! Do not ever, never & forever copy anyone !! Your name deserves it !!

  • If Nokia makes the design of its newer gadgets more beautiful and stylish, with a full screen and a smaller width and more internal storage, it will be great.

  • Nokia please - make phone bezel less - make 90% screen to body ratio - make 6.5 inch screen - make body size maximum 140mm - make super mega amoled -make edge screen - make super aluminium body, but also glass back -make 60mpixel camera - make 4k ultra slow mo recording - fully waterproof -16 core processor - 1 tera byte ram - removable battery, with 6000 mah - tripla sim - quad xenon flash - and I am serious like all the other whiners in this thread

  • Please Make Nokia Super Amoled Screen And edge Screen.

  • plzz Nokia...make an android device with ur old 41mp or above mp camera phone with dual xenon and led flash like 808 n 1020....Than ur phone will beat all brands in selling...otherwise Nokia will never make a gr8 comeback with only dual led flashes...and in that 41 or above device add ur new water resistance feature if possible....

  • Nokia 9 will be released in quarter 1 0f 2018 mainly because of the naming convention being followed by hmd global.

  • Dear Nokia .Thank you for launching the Nokia 2 in US . But this is not the phone we are waiting for,and want to buy from Nokia, by the end of the 2017, on holidays .We are looking for high end phone, to be launched in US with warranty. And will work properly on AT&T and other providers.

  • I miss the Nokia cameras. I see they still use the Carl Zeiss lens but the image samples don't show the same results as in the past. I remember comparing shots with my colleagues owning twice more expensive iphones with half of the quality of my Lumia 920, 930 or 1020. I dropped my phones so many times and never worried about other than small corner bends, never in a case. So, HDM,if you want to get close to what Nokia was, never use glass back panels.

  • N9.. The best phone I ever had.

  • Hope Nokia price it well. And welcome back to AMOLED.

  • Please lunch nokia 9 with more than 40mp camera on Windows OS

  • It looks like Nokia 9 canceled .Because HMD doesn't know how to make the high end phones.

  • my check list 1. 18:9 aspect ratio AMOLED display 2. IP 68 rating 3. Dual rare camera (f/1.8 & f/2.0) 4. f/2.0 front camera All this and i will buy it right away

  • How about Nokia N9 N.series!? 41Mp main camera!! Snapdragon 840!!! I hope that wasn't concept! I saw the phone (N9) looks really great

  • Just do not use amoled display. Everything else is great.

  • Also, I don't want 18:9 or 18.5:9 or 2:1 ratio! Given us 16:9 God bless you all in HMD :)

  • To HMD! I do not want these: 1. Glass back panel 2. Lack of 3.5mm Jack headphones 3. Curve, edge display 4. Amoled 5. Keys on screen I do want these: 1. 3500mAh or above 2. IGZO display 3. sd845 4. Stereo speakers (THX) 5. aptX HD 6. FM Radio... That's all...!! Thanks

  • the thousand of appreciated to nokia and team

  • NOKIA Please, wake up!!!

  • is it support wireless display to be presented in 4K TV?

  • Date of release ??? Features ??? Availability in Europe ??? Black Friday is coming !!!! Why don't you put it on sale now ????

  • Nice phone but I think Nokia 9 will have SD 845 Chipset. I feel like Nokia phones will be a huge success mainly for it's amazing durability. I think Nokia 1 will have Snapdragon S3, Nokia 4 will have Snapdragon 410 and Nokia X will be the king, killing iPhone XI and Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

  • When will this phone be announced and released?

  • LED notification light is a must else it's a deal breaker.

  • It will be good to know the release day, before black Friday in US .After, probably will be too late.

  • I hope like hell it is NOT GLASS backed. If it is ill keep waiting for something that is not.

  • I hope before the holiday season but my guess is early 2018. I am very curious about this phone.

  • No 40 mp camera, no from word document or acrobat reader, no battery removal, for what ???

  • Nokia 9 will have a headphone jack !

  • Not announced today this NOKIA 9 at Nokia event in India ??? Why ??? Then .... when will be release ?????
