First change region to US, then install windows insider. Log in to insider app,proceed. You will be notified when win 10 is available. But purchase a portable charger before updating. After update your phone will b having max 3-4 hrs back up.

I don't know why you are not getting update notification!! But I am using win 10 now. Its better than 8.1 very user friendly. But battery is draining in just 2-3 hrs. I recommend don't update if you're using your phone for calling purpose too. Phone is heating too much after the update. So think before you proceed!!

1.Lumia 638 India 059W853 didn't get the Denim Update hence no Windows 10 (Official OTA). Though you can get windows 10 via Windows insider app but we really miss the Firmware update that comes with Denim that includes Better battery backup better touch, Audio equalizer etc. So this method is useless.. 2. 059W7D8 is the another Product code for Lumia 638 India. and this has the latest Denim firmware. But we can't Install Windows 10 in any way in this Product code. So this is Waste.. If anybody just want Windows Phone 8.1 with Denim firmware on Lumia 638 India flash this firmware 059W7D8. 3.Here is my Fav Solution for Lumia 638 India for Windows 10. Just flash the China's Firmware 059W0P1 Which Has Denim firmware and it can officially upgradable to Windows 10 No Insider app required. But one small problem with this firmware you cant manually switch between 4G/3G/2G. it is automatic.. by default it will Show only 3G in SIM settings. It will switch to 3G or 4G when you have that active Data connection. like if I activate 3G Data then it will switch to 3G after the data ends it will come back to 2G that is Edge. Other than that Problem it working flawless.. and I am getting regular windows 10 updates as other windows 10 mobiles gets. Note : You have to download the English India Keyboard and English India Speech to enable Cortana after you upgrade to windows 10 in this China's Firmware. In this firmware you will get lot bloatware (China's useless apps) and we can easly uninstall them..

As far as Lumia 638 is concerned it is the worst phone launched by microsoft via online results without any kind of reception just to clear the stocks. So finally they forgot even launching this phone way back in December 2014. Microsoft doubt whether this phone exist. It is obvious that Lumia 638 is only upgradable to denim and windows 10 mobile only through windows insider program which contains a lot of bugs that could stop 638 functioning. But 638 still haven't got the official denim update yet. So no windows 10!! All windows 8 based phones got denim, but 638 was an exception as Microsoft didn't even bother to push the ota update.638 is one among a few window 8 based windows phones to qualify to run official windows 10 mobile. But Microsoft in India abandoned this phone. Due to lack of updates this phone started to degrade in terms of performance. Windows 10 Update for 638 is the only way to get rid of updates.638 users in India are screwed. This attitude of Microsoft makes me to regret for purchasing this phone. This 638 was sold with a promise that it is windows 10 upgradable, they even pulled out that webpage. On the contrary, 638 in other regions has got Ota windows 10 mobile official update in other countries except in India. No matter how many times we contact Microsoft they'll say "wait for sometime"which is ridiculous. Its because of their dodging skills and untrustworthy nature they struggle in the mobile world. Nokia did a way better job.

Hey!Stark. I have a lumia 638 and I live in India.I know how to update it to denim and then to windows 10. First download "Windows Insider" app from windows store.Then register your microsoft acount as an insider account from microsoft.com. Then click get preview builds>fast ring>then go to updates>check for update>download. I may take a while and varies with internet connection.Then install lumia denim but note that you must have a free space of at least 1.5 GB in your phone storage. After successfully installing denim,then again go to windows insider and follow the previous steps but this time you habe to reboot/restart your phone.After restarting,go to updates>check for updates>download the latest windows techincal preview build and enjoy... Recently Microsoft has release build 10581 which has a lot of bug fixes and I am quite happy with this one... Like this phone looks best from the outside if you compare with other phones like Moto e. It has the best screen + gorilla glass 3(which is really tuf,I dropped it twice on its face but it didn't break,now I've put tempered glass on it) And 4G is really amazing and real fast. Talking about the processor,I have been using this phone since 4 months and didn't get hang! Even the high graphic games run really well. Overall amazing go for it,if your budget is low however if you need phone somewhere around 10K blindly go for Lumia 640.The best phone I've ever seen seriously And Lumia just lacks some app like YouTube,chrome(may be windows and google conflicts).

Better than all the phones I have used till now. Just put a 4G enabled SIM. It will show you 4G network. Battery is great. I am 24x7 connected on 4G network. Internet on. Play Asphalt few of a time. Battery lasts almost 24hrs. But... Now this phone is not available on sales... cause it was a limited edition phone from microsoft-nokia as one of the last products from venture. So, time is up. But this phone... Outstanding. It will get Denim before windows 10 for sure. So don't worry people...

Sorry its 9.2 mm not 9 inches but in my concept at that time I want to say 9.2mm but wrong typing only; however, 9.2 inches is very thick compare to other models from other company. Oppo only 4.9mm, vivo only 4.8mm, Iphone only 6.9mm, samsung only 6.7mm, Huiwei only 7.5mm. In term of competition Nokia will never be the best in term of this spec.
