  • Hi, i have this unit from aliexpress, and i use it with 1 gb mmc card. I cant install any of games, im using software called MSVdrive.sis and it store all stuff to memory card(nothing goes to phone memory) but still get error message to delete some memory when i try to instal .sis games.

  • you can repiar it. don't worry. you don't have to change it. only you have to do is open your front cover, under the keypad, there have to be small rubbers under each keys. if there is not under a lot of keys, the absent keys cant push. so you can put unions to the holes. you can find unions from nokia phones which use small screws with small pitchs. thats all. if you are still having problems, write here

  • I have this phone from 2005, I love the way of controlling the game using the directions pad very responsive unlike other phones of the same age like 6600 or other SE or Samsung, this phone is suburb, but it had crashed several times and sent to repair several times, now the buttons is unresponsive or too mush responsive due to too mush use, Nokia felt shame of this phone and sold only 3 million devices and received lots of criticism> people are dum not to love this phone. all mobile phones should be like it, unlike gaming on touch phones.

  • Hello, if your screen is becoming white and phone is it booting it need to be re-install with new OS it will be fine. You will lost all data but phone will be saved. i had same issue but it is fine now.

  • bro this drawback can be addressed.. download a fil msvdrivee or search msg memory on memory card software... this will put your message memory on ur memory card... den depending on ur available free space in ur memory card u cn tranfer any file via bluetooth...

  • the only setback for this mobile is the internal memory of only 3.5 mb,so if you are transferring a file via bluetooth which is way above 3.5 mb,the phone cannot accept it even if you do have an mmc. still a feature packed phone esp if you love games. im just wondering why nokia discontinued this model,anyone from nokia?

  • I've a solution for ur problem of recived items are not saving in the in the mmc and ur unable to send any item above 3mb (if u use software named msv drive to save recived items to mmc and use softwares like profiexplore and x-plore to send items above then 3mb) (and these softwares are available in (gallery.mobile9.com))

  • well this phone is Awesomely build, if it couls have Camera, it would have ROCK other mobiles in market.well related to games of Engage-QD, you can download SIS files and JAR files as it supports both. The JAR files are stored in EXTRAS-APPLICATIONS. And SIS files can be saved in any folder. you just need File manager or FE-Explorer to view everythinig in your phone. anymore questions please reply and ask me or leave a comment on this on my name or call me on 9892736914(Shahbhai).

  • I used to have one, it did turn off by it self, it was huge and it was old but i loved it. I took it out in public and everyone just stared at the phone. my friends loved it. Still have memories playing Colin McRae Rally 2005 til the end. Its a mobile which will live in infamy. I have a N73 now, good phone and still had some N-Gage genes in it (turns off by itself). The N-gage was a fantastic mobile, it wasnt practicable, it was big and was over priced but it Nokia still sold it. I miss my old one so much, anyone who has one keep it. Or get a new phone and still keep you N-gage. I had great memories with this phone. Even one my friends bought one after me. 10/10. Best phone ever made.

  • Man i got some of those games like Ghost Recon, etc. You have to copy them manually to that folder of yours but one at a time(that is you have to delet the previous one to make way for the next one). Haven't figured out yet how to install all in one go. i'll email you.

  • step1...get a sis file of fileman or fe explorer or even xplore will do step2...open it go to drive e tht=en system followed by apps step2...after opening apps copy the game folder generally having alphanumeric words like 6R37 etc step3...the most important make a folder named libs inside the folder system and copy all tht lib files

  • Try to look for an application named MsvDriveE. When this is running, all files sent via bluetooth will be routed to the memory card.

  • Nice phone except for no lan,no gps,low class connection(it doesn`t even reach to edge connection), Low built in memory,low ram,small screen size. It is just really meant for gaming. :D Remember that not only this phone can store 450 apps,games,sis,or java and can be used to watch tons of movies.   • This phone was my best phone so far! It may not have as many features as the original N-gage but it works better as a phone and the gaming experience is also improved. The only negative points of this one are the sound and the internal memory...

QD is just mono. of course QD has a cool keypad, but you would want to hear good bass and treble sound right?   • The best phone ever produced by Nokia but must not be discontinued. I used for over 3.5 years and no problem it created for me. I just got bored but this phone not going to be dead. Battery life is unbelievable. I just charged it twice a week only. Design is really attracting gamers. Sound is really loud that can beat many Nokia's XpressMusic and Sony Ericsson's Walkman phones. Processors are really fast enough. Had some disadvantages like no camera, no themes supported, 4096 colour display, rubber band on its edge break after half an year. But overall the best phone for me.

Although the newer models like N81, N82 & so on supports N-GAGE arena but still the physical looks itself are not stunning to attract serious mobile gamer's attention. I wish Nokia will come with newer edition of N-GAGE QD without changing the physical looks but add camera & higher memory-card support capabilities. Anyway, good job nokia.....

  • to shariff, you need a mmc card reader it is better than sending from bluetooth of another cp or another computer with BT. i have already using a lot of games and lot of applications to my n gage

  • to rafaat, yes it is possible to play mp3 files to n gage you need a ultra mp3 player.sis then copy to your mmc all mp3 songs using card reader and then play at all time.

  • Benci la HP ni. Sound is not good, design also not confortable to answer a call or make a call. But the display is in good condition and easy to write SMS. Only that. I agree if some said these HP doesn't have own software.

  • i had this phone 2 years back,thefirst time i bought it i dont have any probs with it,because mine was completely upgraded,but after a while using it,it started to jam by itself,the memory card is just 512MB ,and not too much games in it,and my songs started to be corrupted,*no idea why* and the buttons started to drop,i felt like it's annoying from time to time.and i sold it,am thinking of getting new Classic N-gage,eventho the earphone is at the "very unique angle" but ,one more thing i like this phone,beside complaining alot,i can say that this is very lasting phone,drop it for about more than hundred times,but it still work like usual,but the software will start to be corrupted.

  • Nokia N-Gage QD sucks big time !!! Nokia N-Gage Classic is far more better. It has everything in it. It's a Tri Band where as QD is not. Classic has a Music Player which is a Hi-Fi Stereo Sound QD on the other hand comes without a Music Player you need to install Third Party Application Softwares in order to play some Mp3 files. But even after doing that the output still remains Mono. The worst thing is that there is no FM Radio in the QD ? I mean the QD was lanched after the Classic Isn't it supposed to have an additional features? Hot Swap on the QD is hopeless or rather useless caz u can easily insert 1 GB card on the classic install games, videos, Mp3's and the Classic still doesn't hang. Well all I can say is that Nokia N-Gage Classic Rules Man !!!

  • Hi Dude i m using N-Gage classic for the last two and half years. The music quality of N-gage classic is very good and radio too. If u install mp3 software in QD, the sound quality will be poor. and the will be no bass in the ear phones too. And if u install radio software in QD, it will work on GPRS. So u have to pay to liston radio. Games r same in both N-gage. I will recomend N-Gage classic if u want to play games, liston music with line out option and use radio too.

  • Hi, N-gage stores files in phone memory which r recieced from bluetooth. So download a patch called "ngage mmc patch". Install it and run it. Now u will recieve files greater 3 MB. These files will b stored on Memory card.

  • hold button "3" + "green call button" + "*" + on button for a few seconds when you start up your phone. It worked for my regular n-gage, and since it has the same OS as the QD it should work. your sreen will callibrate again and the phone goes to factory settings again. It is a clean install and if you send your phone to support it will be done for about 100� so why dont you give it a try..

  • when phone cannot start up hold *+3+green call button + on/off button during 5 seconds when you start your phone. It will reboot and go to factory settings. See that no memory card is in the hs by that time. It works for all latest Nokia Hs'. Mike

  • Install a few games. Maybe that will solve your problem. Try not to install these games: Shadowkey, ONE, system rush and pocket kingdom. They always cause lag due to their thousands of available files.

  • I think u have to reformat n recopy the files in ur mem card. Give it a try. Btw, too many files in the mem card makes the fone lag n corrupts da card.

  • I just found out that the next gen n-gage is not one device but several devices that can play the new n-gage games.Some of these devices have already released and some are in production.Nokia will release a software for these devices later which will unlock their gaming capabilities.One of the confirmed devices is the N93 which was used in an interview to display demos of some of the next-gen titles

  • Sorry to say this but to clear the rumors,there is no successor to the n-gage.The concept pics and designs of the new models n-gage 2 and n-gage neo were just created and released by fans of the device.The phone thats supposed to be the replacement is the N93 but I think Nokia was just too lazy to create a newer version of this under rated masterpiece.I really hope they re-open the n-gage project but tilll then,there is no n-gage 2.Unless you want to go for the super expensive N93.And also there are no new n-gage releases coming up all the game projects were abandoned because they stopped manufacturing the phone after 2005.All the units currently available were assembeled and released from factories in 2005 and before.There were no units manufactured in 2006 to the best of my knowledge.

  • I'm verry happy with this phone, most people compare with DS or psp, but you can't. The N-gage is still just a "phone" and a bit of a pocket-size handheld with a lot of options. Java games are small but easy to handle with this joypad-phone. The n-gage games are nice and fun. You even can put all games on one mmc if you like, what else can you request from a phone? i would say 9.5 to 10. grtz

  • Try removing ngage games that contain large amount of files that is causing the lag such as ONE, shadowkey and system rush. Play them in a seperate memory card if u have some n will.

  • My Nokia QD silver and my other regular n-gage are running very slow while playing games and exploring other applications. by setting my logbook from 30 days to 1 day, the speed should increase. I did this and restarted my handset but it keeps running very slow. Is there anothe way to solve this?

  • Convert it to wav 1st. Then place it at nokia\sounds folder of your mem card. And it should be in your ringtone list. Anything is almost possible with symbian os.

  • Nokia couldnt see the need of a camera for the ngage. Besides the n93 is the next gen phone that plays quality games n take picture. Ngage has so much potential to be a gaming fone. In fact its better than the bulky psp n crappy ds.

  • runtime memory 16mb on qd??????????????? buddy, i can see only 379kb as ram, the runtime memory and 4093kb as c: or the flash memory, that's all on qd except that for my 256mb memory card. Can you provide me with some links/references of urs expo. on the net for the said data. and as far as i know from my exploration on the net for the same in the past, i can recall that both phones have almost same amount of runtime memory and the processor speed as well, with classic having only a bit of edge in both with qd processor having more support for gaming.

  • U can just pay a few bucks for the ngage games if u buy it from any mobile software provider. U can also get the games from a cd. Just some social work will do as u go from shop to shop. The fone isnt big. The psp is :). Its also one of the cheapest smartfone around.

  • It sure can match the psp. With symbian, u can install thousands of apps n games that is increasing in quantity daily. The qd is way lighter than the beast psp n is comfortable to hold. With bluetooth packed in the fone, qd owners will have hours fun challenging other ngagers. Psp play games up to 2hr while qd a long 10hr. Oh yeah qd can send email n surf internet everywhere. Seriously the qd is better than the psp.

  • Its not difficult u know. Using a card reader to read the mmc card, u can transfer mp3, movie files, java apps n games, etc like a pen drive. The fone shall recognize those files automatically n will load or install them. So simple. Give it a try. A card reader can be found in any computer shop with a cheap price.

  • Yes. By all means i recommend u to go for it. Qd plays ps1 quality games and the shape is perfect for gaming. U will never again get bored when u have this gaming fone. The battery life is also longlasting for gaming. U can play the ngage games via bluetooth or arena. Both rocks! Get the ngage. No regrets.

  • Yes. Its available for sale depending on the stock available from the fone shop. But nokia has stopped its production as Ngage games is no more created. Cracked copy is easy to obtain and nokia made not much profit. Rumors tells the next gen ngage games is playable at the n93. But the fone is crap for gaming due to its shape form. Well just get the qd n i mean fast b4 the stock runs out.

  • I've got an N70 and N73 and I downloaded nearly all Ngage free demo's from n-gage.com! Theyr'e just demos like the ones you get on PS2 but still fun to play. You have to download them onto your PC and then transfer them to your fone via USB Cable or Bluetoothe Dongle. For Nokia S60 and Ngage/Ngage QD only!

  • Y nt u get da psp? U can play loads of games with it packed in with a wifi for your surfing needs. Symbian is a temporary stuff. After some mths a newer os symbian fone is released. Sad thing is the old series s60 software wont be compatible with the newer symbian os. Or jus get the gba playing thousand of games. Man. Your choice. I heard rumors that the n93 plays the upcoming ngage games such as deep sea fishing. Check out da fone features if ya interested.

  • U can use UltraMp3,Mp3Go to hear mp3 songs and 512mb or 1 gb mmc cards work fine on it.

  • what's there in sending files from ur mmc via bluetooth. just browse down to the file in ur system and select the option, that's it. ya, u must have some software for browsing the directory structure ofcourse, like i m using fexplorer and the file size should be less than the free space on ur c drive that's ur internal memory or use some other software instead of fexplorer.

  • Ngage production is no more. But its nice to keep this stuff for collection as a portable gaming device. N93 isnt tested yet for gaming. But its a well-featured pack phone. Price of this fone is low that makes it the cheapest symbian fone. One of the function me and my fren likes is the wap functions. The qd keypad is comfortable and quick to use. Although some of the features are gone which is stereo music, u can always install an mp3 player for it such as ultramp3. The sound may nt be great but hey it gets da job done. Another great program to install is agile messenger that enables msn, yahoo, icq chat. Great stuff. Man. Thanks nokia for a wonderful device.

  • Thats a funny point. Unlike your dumb idea, i could simply put the battery n desktop charger in my pocket since they are small. But that is if i decided to go out while bringing along my fone. Why bother bringing along an ngage kit when those things arent large? Cute things as u mentioned are girly as u clearly are. Qd does have wsod issues as mentioned in ngage website forum. For classic, there is a fix known as fixss for solving the 1 and only software problem during bootup. Too bad with the boring quacked downgrade qd. Long battery life but it lacks entertainment features. Man, get a life and get the classic ngage.

So for now, just chill out.Whether you want to go in for old with odd sidetalking or press your belowed ngage qd screen to your cheeks,its up to you. i did go in for the superior one in technology and cute one in looking plus brighter screen as well. and as far as battery issue is concerned,i m replying to somebody's comments on me, the old is simply not a comparison to the gold or else as you said, take extra batteries or chargers in your pockets wherever you go, or for that matter why don't you simply start carrying your whole ngage kit alogwith.   • See buddy both fones have their own pros and cons and both are one to one.it's your's personal interest that makes the odd one best for you. ngage qd has more sturdier look and feel and hey dude its ngage qd which has more support for gaming, plus brighter screen as well.the battery of classic doesn't last long while gaming and ofcourse what about side talking of the classic.does that goes into your mind. simply not into mine.

  • Still the classic old ngage is way better. I own both fones n i always use the classic as its got some stunning music features. The qd rubber cover doesnt last long but its great for playing games due to its small size. Too bad no more upcoming ngage games on the work due to it being easily cracked n obtain.

  • TJ : Try to format ur memory card using MMC card reader or Digicam or by Communicator series(esp 9300).Even if its not getting formatted then ur memory card is corrupted and there is no other option left...

  • Well due to its symbian os, it runs several software that can play 3d games, run mp3, view various videos, have bluetooth, record voice, view photos, surf internet, msn chat and checks email.

  • gtarboy : Well it depends on what type of game u've installed.If u've installed a regular symbian game and if it's showing error,then that game is not compatible with QD.And,if u've tried to install n-gage games,then surely some files are missing.I recommend u to copy n-gage games from Card Reader,its the best way to transfer the files.If ur already having card reader,then have a close look at all the files while copying files especially Libs folder(it's in system folder,to view system folder change to "show all files").Try to copy all files in detail by following the instructions mentioned in Readme.txt of that game.To install blz games u need to install an application named "blzapp",then it'll automatically sort out the .blz file and will install.Note:Blz games does'nt have that good quality as the original ones.

  • i also agree that ngage without a camera is one big feature less. this piece is loaded with great features and a 2MP (or so) camera would surely make it a complete set.

  • QD's internal memory is just 4 mb.Which we get in reality just 3.5 mb or less.So,obviously it'll not accept any song via bluetooth.U have to download & install an application namely "msvdriveE",it makes MMC as ur inbox messages default memory.After installing msvdriveE just open that application & after that restart ur phone and now ur MMC is ur default messaging memory ! can download radio software in ur ngage QD.But it will not support FM.U must have GPRS activated to access that radio software. For its low price, we are all satisfied with it having no cam. The symbian product plays 3d games and run loads of softwares like a pc. n-gage has the video playback in 3GP format,for AVI format u may require to install Smart movie player in it.In QD u'll have to install mp3 player like ultramp3,mp3go etc. But the sound output will be mono. Qd can even play mp3 files of 128kbps or higher than that but there's no quality at all coz of its mono playback.Also,u have to download seperate mp3 player (ultramp3 etc.)The best way to listen to songs is to convert it in mono at 64kbps 44.1 khz. N-gage can activate msn chat, surfing and online gaming via gprs, multiplayer gaming via bluetooth, long battery life, play videos and mp3, limitless message store, record sound, and lots more out of the symbian os platform if you have found the software What is the mazimum/advisable storage capacity of MMC card? the n-gage qd supports memory card up to 1 gb so 512 mb shouldn't be any problem Nearly 95% of 6600 applications work on ngage. Pros : Great Design Hot-swap memory card Dedicated gaming button More brighter screen than n-gage classic Excellent speaker quality. Most rugged & toughest phone. Coz this supposedly happens with unregistered versions.And,u first backup all data of ur MMC & then format it from ur cell or from card reader.In my opinion card reader is good tool to format.And try to activate "mobile office" plan in airtel so that u could open other sites and even ur radio software.

  • For its low price, we are all satisfied with it having no cam. The symbian product plays 3d games and run loads of softwares like a pc. So if there is no cam, it wont bother us all! Yes no more n-gage to be produce by Nokia. So whats left is the stock in the Nokia manufacuring company and in the mobile phone shops. Games will be playable in the Newer gen N series phones. Currently, the new released N93 is able to play the n-gage games. The design is a let down for gamers and the phone price is high. So N-gage games will be available in the future but the gamedeck for richer gaming experience will be discontinued. Nokia doesnt care about the gaming device packed with a phone features. All they cared now is making different kinds of symbian phones which is in high priority by the customers. Profit comes first, then customer satisfaction. Well.. Cant say nothing much but well done Nokia for winning our $! Haha..

  • Oh Im CUTE : Yes,n-gage has the video playback in 3GP format,for AVI format u may require to install Smart movie player in it.N-gage classic supports mp3 but not the QD,for QD u'll have to install mp3 player like ultramp3,mp3go etc. But the sound output will be mono.The games quality is almost comparable to PSP,but PSP is very different due to its large screen & stereo sound quality compared to n-gage.Yeah,new games r still producing for n-gage like call of duty2,king arthur etc. ManOfSteel : Well,cant say anything about new n-gage but as Mr.N-GAGEsuperfan said there are rumuors going about the new n-gage namely n-gage NEO.Its having 1.3 mp camera,262k display etc.Just have a look at this , Lets see what happens,we'll have to just wait n watch !

  • Heh Yall Dude,wanna choose between Classic ngage or QD??very simple..if u like to listen to the MP3 or FM,u can go for The Big Ngage..but QD also can play mp3 or radio via 3rd party software..(ofcoz the quality is Ngage classic better..but the speed to open the mp3 is quite slow!!if u using default mp3 player but if u using ULTRAmp3 the quality same with QD..)QD best in not using sidetalking(like holding a Banana)and hot swapped.is very usefull when u wanna take out your mmc.although it doesnt have usb cable,but when your mmc storage is full,u also have to change to a new more bigger capacity,u have to shut your phone n set the time or wat eva if u r using classic ngage..and one more,QD housing is more nicer than the ngage classic :) n QD sound more louder than Ngage classic when u r listening mp3's or WMA(via 3rd party,more smaller size n quality better than MP3/AAC) =D Cheerz

  • Trevor Aldrin Matanj : Qd can even play mp3 files of 128kbps or higher than that but there's no quality at all coz of its mono playback.Also,u have to download seperate mp3 player (ultramp3 etc.)The best way to listen to songs is to convert it in mono at 64kbps 44.1 khz. elias : Your Qd is just fine! Its not broken or anything..My QD also sometimes has that blinking eye problem,its nothing serious.Its not essential but u can try to update ur firmware from ur nearest nokia care centre.

  • Ya i get your point man the n-gage qd lacks camera and it would make a great camera phone due to its horizontal shape. But it doesn't suck. It does it purposes well for what it is for: Gaming.   • I solved the damn rubber ring problem, like someone suggested elsewhere - pulled the whole thing off, rubber and plastic ring both, and placed a Livestrong rubber bracelet around it. I love it like this.

  • Its an excellent symbian phone. With its low price, u got a nice, small and pocketable phone packed in with a hot swap design. N-gage can activate msn chat, surfing and online gaming via gprs, multiplayer gaming via bluetooth, long battery life, play videos and mp3, limitless message store, record sound, and lots more out of the symbian os platform if you have found the software (search for the cracked symbian software via google :) hehe). Design fones sucks if they lack features and they are only for the gals and gays (like frank). Hehe.. Its damn cheap now for its features. Rich in features as compared to other crappy flip expensive fones like motorola v3 and other samsung flip fones. BTW, Java games sucks big time! Too bad nokia wont be making a new n-gage. The next n-gage 3D games is only availanle in the next n series fones.. Well.. Long live the n-gage as we all support it and its sure to be a hall of famer fone.   • Yup the n-gage qd supports memory card up to 1 gb so 512 mb shouldn't be any problem. The qd does supports mp3 since its running a symbian os platform. The best mp3players are ultramp3 and mp3go. U can download them from some websites. do a google search or use a peer-to-peer client software and there ya go.. but i must gotta inform ya, the mp3 sound is mono but its alrite since mono sound consumes less battery power than stereo that the original possess.. good luck!

  • yup ngageqd can play mp3. i like mp3GO its much louder than ultra mp3.. the games is not that good but it can be best for past time. good games for me are sims,tonyhawk,FIFA,Asphalt GT and ONE. its sad that nokia does not plan to make another game until 2007 :( . but im hoping the release of the nextgen ngage. for me the flaw of this fone after having it for 2 years is its body.. the rubbergrip wont last long, it pops out from its place or shall we say it expands. but for gamer i recommend it, fast interface a smartphone long batt life loud speaker. its great.

  • quickoffice can be installed in ngage-qd,i installed it through pc suit into it after connecting it with the pc through bluetooth.the speed is slow ofcourse,not upto the standards i wanted from my beloved ngage-qd. may i have a bit more speed than current "104 MHZ". ha ha ha......... (just joking) i could not install it directly probably because of memory limitations so then i tried pc suit nd it worked. anyways i have removed it,upto u to try.

Steven Gerrard : The gameplay is n-gage is fair & good according to its price compared to PSP.Java games are rubbish.nowhere close to n-gage games. ALI : yes u can download 6600 applications on this phone.Nearly 95% of 6600 applications work on ngage. Aayush : yes Ngage Qd can play mp3 files by installing seperate mp3 player.But it will play in mono coz the output of phone is mono.

  • You Know i had this phone for 2 month and i loved it i changed it for a w800i . im not regreting that but im missing this phone but you know what it would have been great if nokia releases a new n-gage that looks the same as the QD exactly the same but from the functional point of view it would have a stereo sound support and a Symbian OS 8.0a, Series 60 2nd Edition and a TFT, 256K colors screen belive me i will donate my current w800i to someone and get this one instead! what do you say? wouldnt that project be wise from nokia??

  • Many Symbian applications work on the QD. I have tried SmartMovie on mine, and it works like a charm. The phone is dirt cheap now, and it's a great choice for someone who wants to play games and have a smartphone + bluetooth + memory card for next to nothing.

  • I've had this cell for about 5 months now nd it rox. no problem with. gr8 games and loads of applications as it is a symbian series 60 phone. it has a really gud design which looks really cool. the only problem is that its rubber peels off after some time. can anyone please tell me where to get the rubber from. i live in lahore, pakistan. n-gage qd is one of the finest production of nokia.

  • hi mihir u need ultramp3 player for mp3 songs i don't know any tool for playing mpegs and also such huge files will not even run,for example try to run huge gp3 files on it. anyways u can use smart movie player,the most excellent tool i know as if now,xvid codec and tools to convert mpegs.ofcourse not very high quality but the most preffered one. the mem cards come in 128,256,512mbs and in gbs also,but if i were to say i will prefer 256,coz the speed takes big jolts as the size grows.256 runs quiet fine.

  • hi raj there is one tool MCE3650ForN-Gage(StorageTheSMSinMMC).sis, probably known as a tweak which changes the default storage of the sms from the device internal mem to the mmc card.so all incoming sms will be directly stored onto mmc.i haven't used it though my friend tried it for once,check it out, but remember your previous sms will not be visible till the software is running in background, as they are stored in the internal mem and ur default location is on mmc. once u disable(remove)the software the internal mem sms will be visible as the default location will shift back automatically. up to u to try if it solves ur purpose.

  • raj there is a software called msdrive through which all messages r saved to ur mmc but there are many cases where this s/w has caused WSOD so its quite a risk 2 install it coz this a 2 big price 2 pay for this but its ur choice

  • come on now enough of this!!!!! i have used qd for past 10 months here are my take on the cell PROS 1.symbian os 6.01 loads of apps 4 u 2.only 6.01 os gives the ability 2 play high quality games of ngage 3.loud speaker 4.no sidetalk sd cards upto 2gb available and the cheapest of all types 5.mp3 software can be installed 6.cool design for gameplay 7.no problems while using in dark 8.hot swap 9.ngage arena 10.tough 11.limitless possibilities but to acheieve this nokia had 2 sacrifice certain features 1.as the os 6.1 themes cannot be applied unlike 6630 and other nokia fones this was done as then the os 7 had problems playing java files aqnd thus gameplay of such high level could not be acheived 2.no radio. hmmmm costs around rs.150 a handsfree one 3.the rubber grip ok comes out after intensive use(mine came out after 2 months) but no probs coz it can be purchased 4 around rs.50 4.ok the most frequent one : camera wats the use of it buy a proper digital camera like i got a 5MP cybershot its the best Finally buy it coz its the cheapest and the best symbian fone today.

  • The N-Gage QD is a great Symhbian phone, but beware. With heavy use, you will find these flaws to be annoying: If you answer it in the dark, you have a 50/50 shot at getting the right end up when you say hello. It's shaped like the letter D, but good luck trying to figure out which end is which when you are in a dark car or something. Next...It's user interface schema. Hope you like orange. Because of the selections it has, it might as well be "Plenty orange", "really orange" or "more orange". The good news is that the call circuitry in the phone is excellent. Sound quality is impeccable. It has SOME onboard ram, but I recommend getting a 512mb MMC. The rubber gasket that surrounds the phone will peel away in heavy use. I recommend putting a Hoover 38528-040 vacuum cleaner belt around the whole thing. It will keep your mmc in at all times, and if you drop the QD, the belt will definately protect it. Overall, it is a really great phone.

  • yes you cannot use mp3 files as a ringtone but you can use ogg as a ringtone just install quodrings and your all set =)

  • Graphics of games is ok but the new games such as System Rush and Rifts are excellent that u couldnt care less of the graphics while playing.. Battery life is perfect, way longer than classic.. Playing videos by default is 3GP.. U need to install the software for playing real media video files which isnt a problem. Use helix media player The sound quality for playing mp3 is mono.. Poor but better than nothing.. Overall this is a great fone due to its Symbian OS and a great catalogue of Ngage Games that are worth playing..

  • hi danny 1 the easiest way to transfer file into fones having small internal memory is to buy a card reader so now the songs can be directly downloaded directly into the mmc at much higher speed. 2.if you prefer not to buy a mmc reader then u must install a software which would allow u to store the files that u recieve via a bluetooh directly into the mmc which u can download throug net

  • yes qd is still the best fone in market i have been using it for the past six months i have approx 200 songs and four games on my 512 mb card.the battery life is great the screen is really very good for a 4k colors the loudspeker is really loud(who cares if its mono but if yes there is always a stereophonic headset) gr8 to see nokia staying commited to this mobile only if it had the software like themerizer (smartlauncher sux) the rubber is cheap and can be easily bought at your nearby store and the silver color sux really hope nokia will continue the good work and keep getting the new games and yes ngage qd is the best bet coz ngage3 wont be here by 2007 jan

  • The MMC Card and Game Chips are the same thing the games come on MMC cards. You can purchase a 512mb mmc card for about �25 and that will allow you to have over 30 n-gage games on it. To get the games you can search on ebay and theres usualy people selling a disc with about 45 n-gage games on so you can just transfer the game fodlers across from cd to memory card. Use Realone video player to watch most movie file types. This application is on the disc you get with the n-gage. Ultra MP3 can be easily downloaded from teh official website alothugh you will need to purchase or aquire a key to continue using it after a few tracks. They will fix your speakers under warranty but wont offer a replacement you will just have to be without a phone for a few weeks.

  • if you want mp3 on qd its better to buy an mp3 player than have it installed on your phone.. it eats up memory and the sounds not that good..

  • its good alright for games.. great graphics and all.. though its quite boring without themes in it.. i have to consume lots of time editing skins in s launcher but a challenge though and you can change the icons if it really bothers anyone with these plain icons and you can change its fonts too to really sooth your mood.. but you need files for these one though but it is really easy to find..

  • The old Ngage is way better than this fone.. It got stereo mp3, stereo radio, usb port and it doesn't lag unlike ngage qd becoz the memory card is easily readable since its inside the fone.. Btw, the classic ngage can hold up to 1 gb mmc card without any lag. The QD, well it isn't that good.. I heard that some mmc dont work with the qd well as it disconnects and reconnects the mmc even though its tightly attach to the hot swap. Now thats a superb minicomputer OLD NGAGE :>

  • Erm,if wan your QD or any smart phone work faster ho,try this : dun ever use phone memory.save all your stuff(mp3,wav,messages,movies,softwear...)at memory card.it may let your phone work faster especially nokia 6600!! :) (and dun ever try to save 100+ polyphonic ring tone,it may cause your phone jam!!!less play wav file will safe your battery life too!!)

  • The most thing I enjoyed using Nokia N-Gage GD is the powerful-hi fi stereo surrounding MP3..I think there were no other mp3 handphone that can challenge this N-Gage QD's mp3..The memory can also be expandable from 64 mb to 512 mb...What a damn cool handphone..

  • Although QD only supports 4096 colors, it is much much better than N3200 (also supports 4096 colors). The screen is bright and clear. However, when using Oggplayer or UltraMP3 to play Ogg/MP3 files, the sound quality is not satisfactory at all. QD is a symbian powered device, so I can install many third party applications. Really like that. I also use my QD as GPRS modem for my desktop computer. So far I'm satisfied because it is quite stable. Rarely restarts/reboots on its own.

  • -Amazing- You can install a mp3 player on it because its a symbian phone, it doesnt have a preinstalled mp3 player.

  • at last my QD problems are solved! You can simply buy CD's that contain original games and programs which support everything like I did. I know have MP3 player, answering maching, arabic support, and an AM-FM radio. But ofcourse use programs from a trusted source and beware of spyware of viruses.   • Yup,Yup,n-gage qd can't play mp3 as it's ringtone.But u can convert mp3 to wav format to set it as a ringtone. The sizes of wav format will be more bigger than mp3 format.Take note of that!!! I use mp3 cutter to convert mp3 to wav.

  • Ir runs any type of video.. Since its a SYMBIAN OS Smartfone!! By default 3gp videos can be run but with less options.. As for mpeg u need to get the 3rd party software available from the internet or your mobile application provider.

  • Its a good phone but the problem is that its doesnt support arabic language or MP3 files. U can delete SMS reports from the log menu. I think this phone would be even much better with changeable themes because the available colors are not so nice. The sounds of the headset and the loudspeaker are really perfect. It would be better if the joystick had a backlight because its a bit annoying at night.

  • for those who want to put radio,mp3, movie player and many aother softwares compatible with symbian OS go to www.allsymbian.com this phone its awesome!! it help to update yourself about technology....u need a usb bluetooth adapter or a usb mmc readedr/writer adapter and youre done!! enjoy it.
