But not after i just had the samsung S400i and now iv got the samsung D900 which i just got a week ago i think it was one of thee worst phones in the world! lol i cood NEVER go back to tht phone now, MARK MY WORDS ! This is a wonderful fone since ever,it's silverish apperance and it's polyphonic ringtones BUT I'm fed-up to an extend that I cannot be silent,I've used it for 2yrs now and it's history is the same{BATTERY}Last year Dec.I managed to buy it's battery but for my surprised it worked only for 48 hrs.The camera is wonderful but got spoiled within a week after buying it.This has caused me to remember my most reliable Nokia.Please my cry is :would you help us by improving it's battery,unnecessary noise when switching on and it's switching off when you still want to use it.

I've had an O2 X2 for about two and a half years now, and I'm chuffed with it. Yes, the battery is starting to wear down with ridiculous swiftness - the other day I left it to its own devices in my bedroom, and it just sat there and slowly ran out of battery - and yes, some of the functions are slow, but I find it's a reliable, oddly charming little phone. However. I've been having a problem for ages, and I'm wondering if anyone knows what I'm talking about. Every month or two I'll turn it off and it'll turn on again immediately, and start playing a hideous Halloween-style piece of music at full volume (this ringtone is NOT anywhere in the phone's selection). It cannot be switched off, and the phone cannot be turned on; the problem can only be solved by removing the battery and, groan, having to then reset the date and time. Does anyone else suffer from this annoying problem? Do you think I've got a virus? Better still, does anyone know how to get rid of it? I would be very, very relieved to hear from someone about this.

Got a real problem with this phone. Cant get it to ring now and just vibrates when incoming call. Even took it to the o2 shop and they spent an hour but couldn't figure it out. Has a symble of a speaker with a cross through it but cant get rid of it. Anyone else had this problem and managed to cure it please email me at [email protected] with the answer.. Thanks

I been using the phone call 02 x2 for a year now the promblem this phone has is much problem, one of the problem is battery,it can not video/recording,for a long time. the manufatural have to do something about it, without that the phone build is ok.

With regards to initial appearance, the O2 X2 handset looks like a decent handset with its sleek mirrored front and silver finish. However I have found that in terms of performance and userability it is a serious let down. Not only is the X2 annoyingly slow with regards to basic functions such as texting, picture taking, calling etc., but the battery life is positively laughable at around 72 hours standby (realistically). In addition I have found that the majority of simple tasks have been set in an arse-about-face fashion as to defy commonsense i.e. editing phone details and the awful predictive text option. Looks and to a small extent ringtones aside, this is simply a bad handset and well supports the saying 'dont judge a book by its cover'. Give me back my Nokia please!!!!

i have to disagree with all the ppl who say the fone is rubbish as it is fine it works fine and the pictures come out fine as well. although the fone does not work now but that is due to me putting it in the ashing machine. oops!

I upgraded to the O2 X2 two years ago from a Nokia 3330 which was a fine phone, the best of the old bunch. As a phone the X2 is ok until it locks up and you have to remove the battery to re-start it to get it working again. Battery life is pathetic. I now keep it on permanent charge. As it has no connectivity, theres no point in taking pictures which are rubbish anyway. So why didnt I keep the Nokia? I should have.

I thought this phone was alright..looks smart. The camera is pretty crumby but I can deal with that it's not the purpose of the phone. What I can't deal with is...the phone cutting out randomly when i'm out and then sorting its self out right before I get to the phone shop so they can't see the problem, it finally cutting out after a measily 7months (the screen wont work at all)recieving invalid messages and no getting phone calls..Rrrubbish in a word

The X2 looks smart which is one of the main reasons I bought it. ok so it doesn't have the best camera - I can live with that. it doesn't have as many features as other phones - that's ok I can live with that too. The fact that I have to charge it up every day and sometimes when I'm out and the battery runs out and I can't actually use it as a phone then that is far from ok.

Dunno y so many people dont like this fone, I have had my x2 for about a year now and it wrks perfectly fine, not many scratches on it and the camera is fine and i had my memory upgraded by a computer shop so they memory is about 5mb shared memory at the moment. I thik this is a brilliant phone, sorry but i dont agree with any of the other comments.

O2 staff at Falkirk were un real...phone was blocked for some reason.Called customer services, who couldnt do anything,they put me onto repair department (from where the phone had just arrived back ..who couldnt advise me..back to customer services.They told me to go to local store where they could unblock it.Girl there did not have a clue..stated that they wouldnt fix ant problems (although quite happy to sell u the lame duck).She went on to customer services (again)and spent most of the time "chatting" up service person on other end of phone..after 30 minutes no joy and girl seeed to be more anxious to make sure that it was noted on file that she tried to help than actually doing anything to help.The service was so bad it was cringing to hear the conversation by this girl.If this is the sort of after care service by O2 please dear reader beware of this company

i use to work 4 vodafone retail so as u can imagine ive ad a lot of fones all i wanted was the manual settings 4 gprs on this handset there is nothing wot so ever this fone which is my sons is bloody terrible not only is the fone a bag of ???? the o2 site is crap the customer services they provide is useless I WOOD SAY DO NOT GO WITH O2 AT ALL

totally agree with all other comments claiming phone is rubbish. very short battery time and have found charger is liable to break meaning even more troubles. camera is very poor and can store very few of the poor quality photo's taken.

Looks stylish on the outside ... however still has the lil ariel popin out ... its a good phone if you dont want anything special. The camera is pap as are most vga cameras on phones. the buttons are easy to use, and the menu is simple to understand, i like the outer screen where you can have date time etc glowing at a press of the button, but apart from that.... . . . i would not have purchased this phone (got it on an upgrade from the x1, as my x1 broke about a week before warranty ended) i'm dissapointed with the camera not having a motion recorder like the x1, the battery life on the x2 is about 3days if your lucky ,the ringtones are pretty dull and boring, memory is atrocious, 1mb shared memory .. you cant have very much at all ... 1 ringtone, 1 game, 1/2 voice clips, a few pictures, n a load of messages (about 150-200) . In an overall score, i'd give this phone 3/10 , only good if you want a phone that you cant press buttons on whilst its in your pocket, Good for general use, for calling/texting people on a rare basis.

This phone is rubbish! I would advise anyone not to buy this phone! The battery doesn't last very long, easily scratched. Also when you have around 10 pictures the phone memory is very low! It is not as good as i expected!

This phone has turned out to be total rubbish. i loved it at the beginning - soo sleek and lush! however the messages dont tell you when your into the 2nd text. the camera broke and the front of the phone got completly scratched up in the first 4 weeks! sending it off to be fixed was another nightmare. the o2 x2 was the WORST phone i have ever had in my life out of at least 20 phones, absolutely pathetic and it had to be sent off 5 times and still did not get fixed.the screens are so easy to scratch, and o2 cannot fix them if you crack it! i will never ever purchase an o2 phone again and i advise you not to aswell. i have nothing more to say. if you still get one after reading this theres something wrong with you in the head.

i got this phone for christmas 2004 and was great for the first few months. it then went pear shape and so i got a pink samsung e350 for this christmas (2005) which is so much better. the o2x2 which ive had for a year, i gave to my mum but she didnt want it as now the charge is crap and runs out every few hours

hello.. omg this phone is absolute rubbish! ive had it for a year and a bit i think but i never have signal.. it isnt the network its the phone bcoz ive been usin o2 now for years. The camera is all fuzzy and crap basically you cant upload the photos to ur computer. u cant do a lot with it really. It looks good tho its gota have that and the mirror is handy. also the button on the side isn't workin so i cant turn my calls down either! so dont even bother considering this phone you wil be fed up with it after a few months. im getin the samsung e350 for xmas so hopefully it wil work a bit better than this o2x2! xoxoxox

Definately avoid this phone! I have had it over a year I got it as an upgrade from 02 and its the worst phone I have ever had! After about a month it started freezing up so I couldn't receive texts, couldn't see missed calls or who had called me. The only way i could unfreeze it would be to put my partners sim in the phone, although it unfroze it, it copied everything from his sim onto mine so I then had to spend ages deleteing stuff! Battery life is also bad I have to do a full recharge everyday! This has put me off ever buying another 02 phone although i still prefer the network to any other.

I have had my O2 X2 for over 1year and a half, i personally have found no problems with it and i havnt had to take it back, unfortunatlly i accidentally smashed the outer display screen and have painted the whole phone 4 times, its now painted black with yellow keys. I need my phone to break for me to get a new 1 this christmas! I wish i had same problems as you lot.

i have this phone and its rubbish. it does look nice, the mirrors handy, n the amount of texts it holds is quite impressive. but the battery lasts for about 10 hours even if i charge it over the whole night it will run out by the next night definatly. it doesnt let me open images that have been sent to me by multimedia which has wasted the other persons credit and doesnt seem to let me send them either. the amount of photos it holds is not much. u have to keep deleting them and the quaLITY of them is rubbish anyway. the ringtones are most embarrasing and u cnt download any new ones so your stuck with a iratating song that sounds like it should be played at a jewish wedding. DO NOT buy this phone...ever

Ok, I got this phone last christmas, first it wouldn't turn on.. now it takes 5 mins to turn on. The screen is tiny, does not hold many images, the camera isn't that good and for some wierd reason it never sends images to other phones. (it sucks, �150 for a piece of crap.

i got this phone last christmas and already had an o2 phone so i put the sim card from my old phone in. after about 3 months the phone was strange and everytime i turned it on my contacts wouldnt come up so i decided 2 put the sim card i got with the phone in. since then its been a lot better. there isnt much space for photos and the screen isnt very big but they are good quality photos. it has a composer, but i cant find any codes for it anywhere so its really no use unless u know how 2 make ur own ringtones. but it is very nice lookin and the front part is a mirror although on mine it has gotten very grubby, dirty and scratched. i am gettin a pink samsung e350 for christmas as i just wanted a change and also i wanted to be able 2 record videos which u cant do on the o2x2

Hi, I have had this phone since xmas. I do like it, I think it is a practical size and also looks smart. The mirror can come in very handy! The thing is, is that it doesn't have much memory and i annot store as many pictures and texts as i would like. I recently got a new SIM card. My phone now takes a lifetime to get onto contacts and i can't send a text unless i know the number off by heart which is rather annoying. Thankyou, Naomi. X

I got this phone last January, and at the beginning I found it ok to use, no major problems. This phone looks very nice, and for �120 you would expect a decent phone. However, I would like to share with you all the problems I have had with this BLOODY phone: 1)The phone freezes when about to receive a text so you have to stop what you are doing, be it writing a text, setting alarm whatever, until the text comes. 2)The memory is small, so when your message boxes are full (which comes as a complete surprise, at least it did to me, after reading in the manual it can store 400 texts), you have to delete messages or else you are constantly displayed with an annoying message 'memory full please delete messages' whenever you go to the main screen. 3)When the memory is full the phone is very very slow. 4)Deleting messages takes a liftime. 5)As a result of number 3 above, my thumb seriously HURTS after writing a single text, I think the ergonomics of the phone must be rubbish because it really does not feel comfortable to text. 6)When texting, you are not notified of when you are running into more than one text, and so can end up spending A LOT unexpectedly. One text message costing 10p does not allow for much, it really is rubbish. At one point I actually spent about �1 on a text because I had no idea how much it was costing me. 7)The whole phone reception seems to freeze so that you cannot receive texts or calls, and what's worse, you don't realise until you try sending a text yourself. This has caused quite an upset with people not being able to contact me for long periods of time in the past. You then have no choice but to turn the phone off and on again. 8)I used the internet on the phone for a few months after buying it, not having to pay at all. Then suddenly one day it started charged me, unbeknownst to me. It seems they really are into money-grabbing. 9)The battery has started to run out very quickly, I am finding I need to charge it almost every night now. It runs out at the most inconvenient times. 10) You cannot see the screen in bright daylight, and so you end up looking a complete idiot shielding your hands around the phone, squinting into the screen, running into the shade, all sorts, just to see what you are doing. Awful. All in all, I think it's pretty obvious to see I am hating this phone, and needless to say, I am getting a new one this Christmas. If you have any sense, do not buy this phone.

I've had this phone for about a year and a half and I love it!! It's looks brilliant, outside and in. Does have quite a smalll memory for photos but people could have found that out before they bought it! Just buy a real camera if you are worried about the quality. Great value for money and a brilliant all round phone!!

i have had the o2x2 for half a year now and have had no problems with it since. the camera is very good so i dont no y sum people r complaining about the quality if u had the common sence to swith on different modes. the picture is clear alougth it doesnt let u record songs you can actually record them if u go into voicerecording it wwill let you record for 15 minutes ............................. i now have a new fone motorola v3 and samsung d500 they are very good fones and are very light they fit into the samllist places to everyone wanting my advice alougth the 02x2 is a good fone i wouldnt waste �140 of my mine on it( even tohugh idid i weouldnt now because it is a old fone now) id rather pay a little extra for a better one cheeres 4 readin dis

Good lord, everyone who has posted an opinion sounds like a whining child unhappy with a christmas present. Personally I've had no technical difficulties with the phone, if I wanted a high quality camera, I would buy a camera. However, considering what I purchased was a phone I found it more than satisfactory.

I chose this phone for christmas, it looked good but it was hugely dissapointing, really the only good thing on it is the outside display, and the flashing blue light but it takes up way too much battery power, and how crap is the photo memory I can only fit like 10 photos whats the ppint in that?! At times I can't load my contacts list or missed calls, so I have to turn it off and mess with it. I don't think the camera is that bad a quality I just wish u could do more with it, and the ringtones are crap, i have already decked the casing. For a �130 i expected more not top of the range but better than a slow poorly made phone, a warning to others DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Got this phone as a gift and so far can't complain. As with many camera phones the picture the camera takes is a little grainy but if anyone actually takes the time to put the pics on thier pc you'll find they are clear. It's inexpensive, easy to use and when you do with the camera what you're supposed to ie download the pics you'll see they are fine. Maybe its just mine but my phone came boxed and security sealed and still took my orange sim straight away. If all you've got worry about is you �100 phone isn't top of the line then buy an expensive one cause I think you're lucky

Some of the comments with the phone i agree with, but what do u expect for �100? If you wanted somethign snazzy to show off2 ur mates then don't moan if u only spent that much on it rather than a more expensive one. You can get your money back within 28 days. And if you are having as many problems with it as most of you say you are... they are entitled to give you a brand new phone or alternative. So before you bore your friends to death anymore about it, just stop and think what is a mobile really for... if it texts and u can make calls whats the big deal? Get over yourselves, cos u all sound really obnoxious.

Just letting you know that this fone is crap its camara is crap quality crap it is in a hard place to take a photo. It can not zoom in. you can only buy ringtones on the web on the fone. the only sims that work in the fone with out it being unlocked 02 or Tesco Mobile i left 02 and went to tesco they are much better. i got a rubbish charger that only lasted me 2 weeks i got another one for �14 exspensive don't buy this fone!!!!

i bought this phone last october since then it has been sent back twice, it wouldnt save my mms picture messages they were saving but not going anywhere, eventually it said my memory was low, the second time o2 replaced the phone for a brand new x2,(this took them 3 weeks to do!) within 3 days this phone had started to do the same, they are now replacing the whole thing for a new phone, another o2 phone so am just gonna wait for the problems to start.

2 reset da fone u hav 2 use da fone code (da default code should be 1234 but u can change the code if u wnt) and u cnt connect it up 2 computer via ANYTHING! these fones r the biggest waste of muny ever! ive had the x1, x1i, x2, x3 & x4. they say the x4 has 3G but its not video callin capeible it says its 4 faster WAP downloads but most of the time the internet doesnt work. if u wanna get somethin from O2 get an XDA not a mobile phone. u could try an o2xm i here that has an intel processor and music downloads work but it has no irda, bluetooth or any connectivity but it still sounds good. i miss sony ericsson & nokia cnt wait til xmas 05 so i can get a se k750i

I want to agree with everyone else, the phone is absolutly terrible. I bought it on pay as you go, and it was quite expensive I thought (�130) so I expected it to be quite good. The camera is terrible, the screen is very hard to see in sunshine, the battery life is absolutly shockingly bad, the predictive text is awful as you can't add words, it takes ages to add punctuation as you have to wait for a fancy slow moving extra menu to come up! Also, I turned the phone off and when it turned back on the address book wasn't loaded...fair enough I thought, it will take a few minutes...three days later it still hadn't loaded! This seems to be a manufacturing fault with it as my friend had the same problem. Also when I have turned it on and off enough times for the contacts list to load (which drains the battery till it is almost dead) all my contacts are multiplied several times! So every person is now listed in my phone about 5 times each! Which then takes ages to delete as there is no quick way to delete multiple entries. The other annoying thing about the contacts list is that if you enter a different number for a person whos name is already in the list then it doesn't differentiate between them. you have to go to edit before knowing whether a number os mobile or landline! its terrible! The only good thing I like about it is the memory storage, I can hold 200 texts in it, and god knows how many names (there are about 400 in mine but then most of them are substitutes so...hmmm...). It is very hard to get ringtones for the phone aswell because it is actually made by O2 so websites don't usually list it as possible so no crazy frog on this phone! It does look nice I think. One thing that someone else mentioned is that the key pad doesn't light up. Yes it does, you need to turn the battery saving option off. They probably put that option on there because the battery life is sooooo bad! but apart from ALL of that...yeah its great!!

This will turn in to a rant but please if you are seriously thinking about buying an 02X2, PLEASE BARE WITH ME. Where shall I start? It's Terrible, just terrible. This phone has got NOTHING going for it. People say it looks good, but after 2mins it is scratched all over. The camera is in an awkward place, the pics are poor quality and eat up too much memory. Texting is probably the worse thing... Predictive text is shocking, you can't add words to the dictionary, the 1 button does f-all, and for any punctuation you need to select it through the star button - Why not let the 1 button do something like on a Nokia? The 1 button doesn't even give you the number 1; you need to change the setting from 'iTap' to '123'. To top it off it DOESN'T tell you how many characters you've used, so you don't know when you�re in the 2nd text until you've sent it. It�s extremely annoying to watch the balance go down 20p instead of 10p when the text has probably gone into the 2nd one by a character or so. It all adds up, all 02's benefit. Now onto the battery, mine doesn't fit properly so it�s really squeaky every time you hold the phone, and its life, that�s awful too, I struggle getting 2 days out of it. After the charging it, I turn the phone on only to find I cannot receive or send text messages or phone calls because it is just loading the whole time. I have to turn the phone off and on again, draining the shoddy battery. The alarms on offer are not loud enough for sound sleeps like myself, and it will not make any noise if you forget to take your phone off silent. Another thing is that incredibly loud and annoying 02 network sound it makes when being turned on or off. What takes the biscuit is the fact these are loud enough to wake anyone up, but can't be set as an alarm! The screen is quite small and is impossible to see when in any sunlight, and the keypad doesn't light up, so using the phone in darkness holds severe difficulties. If you couldn't be bothered to read my boring on-going rant, please go ahead and buy the phone, if you read half of it and just came to the bottom line for the summary you will be unable to detect the sarcasm in the next statement.... This is the greatest phone ever made, buy it now! ;)

I am extremely dissapointed in this phone. The glass front scratches easily and it has very poor reception. The phone sometimes refuses to charge and I am now on my 4th charger as it has not been possible to determine where the fault lies.. We have had five of these in the office and every last one of them has either broken down or had charging problems. All of the facias were scratched or cracked within days of receipt which I have been told is a manufacturing fault. It did look nice but it definately did not live upto expectations.

Have had the phone since september, is now being fixed for the second time. It has to be sent back 3 times before they will make a "good will gesture" and take the O2 X2 back. ive had the o2x2 for about 5months and i know what people mean by it takes blurry pictures, the camera on this phone isnt very good. Im waiting for the o2x4 mobile phone to come out, and up-grade my phone. Otherwise the o2x2 is a lovely phone to text and call. I think o2 need to change a few settings and what not on the o2x2. Possibly add some more choices like a zoom/flash on the camera and possibly put in a radio!

It isnt that bad, it does the simple things like games, txts and phone calls, but the camera isnt very good (a bit blurry) and I have problems sending picture messages, but i do suggest you get a phone that is an actual brand ie nokia.. as 02 did make these themselves, and they are a phone company not a phone making company!!

DO NOT buy this phone. I can't believe that shops are still selling it. I've owned Nokias, Sony Ericksons, Motos, pretty much all of em and this is by far the worst I've ever come across. ive had the x2 for a couple of months and its ok. the battery life is crap, it lasts for like two hours. there are no games and you cany download anything. the only good thing about it is it has quite a bit of memory and is small and slim.

oh yeh, duz any1 kno wer to get a new glass thing for the front coz it looks a bit tacky. and for all u gob shites i do look after my fone but its extremely easy to get scratched up. also the glass bit for the camera is hangin off, and why duz my phone book keep duplicating numbers one minute i look everythin is ok, next i have about 3 balance, 5 directories and a load of talkin pages. Dreadfull dreadfull phone. It worked fine for the first month but after that it started freezing up at random times, this got worse and worse the older it got. Suddenly it started switching itself off as well. This is a huge problem if your phones in your pocket, someone's trying to get hold of you and the things switced off! Final straw was when it switched off in the middle of an important phone call. Keep well away from this liability!

i bought the O2 X1 first which i really liked but it kept freezing and turning itself off so i took the phone back and they exchanged it to the X2, i think the fones good lookin but its just so boring for me personally, it takes ages to look through my msgs & pics, which arent good quality and can't save as many,im sick of seeing blue, i have to turn on the power saving mode or else the battery drains in a day,sometimes when i ring someone or i get a call i cant hear anything,i have to keep pressing the volume button up so i can hear them - ANNOYING!i paid �180 for the O2 X1,the X2 wasnt worth this but i didn't get any money back - typical! The tones i think are rubbish,if you're not bothered about having an exciting fone then buy it..just frustrates me sometimes that the money i paid got me a crap fone in the end..i need a new fone ha!

i got this phone as a pressie last year (had about 12 months) been a bit annoying but i put up with it until now.....always used to switch itself off for no reason or in middle of downloading summit off it goes. i downloaded a game it went off my phone after 2 days that cost me 2.50 for nuthing. tones are pure rubbish very dissapointing, but its a very cute looking phone. however today it has given up the ghost and i am gutted as i may have lost all my precious piccis. spoke to 02 very good although they referred me to people who actually deal with this model and can i say not very happy. i want to know is my piccis gone forever and my phonebook?????? nobody will answer me???? they are sending me a special envelope to send it to them but hey i think i wont bother. will i get an upgrade if its broken (through no fault of mine) its never been dropped always looked after and to thank me its goes and breaks i dont care about the phone but i am angry that my piccis are gone. i have no proof of purchase as its been soooooo long very dissapointing :(

FAO: mXLD The little simbol that you can see on your screen means that you have e-mail or the equivelant of e-mail on your mobile. I get them, they are normally from O2. To access your mail you have to connect to your browser which you do by pressing the key above the number 2 key on your keypad. The one that says O2 on it!

This phone is brilliant! I got it for my birthday and I luv it! The camera is gd quality if you use your common sense n change it to indoor, outdoor or night mode. Mine stores up to 500 txt msgs and colour screen is brilliant. Txtin is easy, same with addin or deletin contacts etc and the games are really fun! You have lots of features such as calculator, calender, alarm clock, to do lists and as well as that you have quite a few msgs tones/ring tones to choose from. Plus if you happened to not like any you could alwayz buy your own! I particularly like the outer displays you can choose from, they are really good. The design is nice as well, such a beautiful phone hehe! As for it bein scratched, mine isn't scratched at all yet! That's because I actually take care of it, you have to do that to keep your phones nice you know! It ain't hard! 10/10! Luv it xxxx

This phone may seem good to begin with but its CRAP. ABSOLUTELY CRAP, dont make the same mistake that i did and many others and buy this phone. the screen is 2 small for a decent pic on the camera. the camera has no zoom or anything so u hav 2 get close 2 the object or person you want to take a pic of. When u try and adjust the settings of the camera so the light is better it doesn't work u hav 2 b in the right light otherwise theres no point in takin the pic. You cant recieve pic messages without goin on2 the wap. u cant do much on this phone. The upgrade the x3 is much better its not brilliant but definately alot better than the x2. just to add a bit more about this phone. the screen is so small and when its bright outside you cant see anything on it..you have to move to a shady area to get to see whats on the screen. its a longish process too when u want to send a text message too... ie having to go to contacts/find the contact/tick the box...then send... i dont think i will be bothering about the X3

whats goin on?! i turned my phone off last night and it went crazy! the screen on the outside went yellow, and it played a tone that iv never heard before- its not on the tones menu! it was vibrating, ringing, flashing, and this was when it was meant to b off! had to take out the battery in the end - which meant re-setting the time and date. i think its possessed!!!

hey i have recently moved to Cyprus and brought my 02x2 to mobile with me because i thought it was a cute reliable phone. However since i have put mu Cypriot sim card into my phone it asks for PLUP code each time i turn it on. I have contacted 02 and they say they can not unlatch it out here, but everyone out here i have to said they can not unlatch it either. Please help.

i have sent this phone back 2 02 three times now and each time its come back exactley the same. the third time i got ythe phone back 02 sent me a brand new one and after only 1day its bac up to its old tricks! i neva has a signal and therefore refuses to send messages and even wen it does have a signal it can be very tempramental. i am very glad that i got it as a replacement to the x1 cos i would be even more annoyed wit this phone. i also find that the phone itself is v.v.v. slow, menu is annoying. the 'ok' button the up and down arrows do exactly the same thing and sum1 @ o2 cudnt think of anything useful for them to do! the profiles are crap cos sometimes you dont want your phone to do anything but it either has to ring or vibrate or both and neva nothin! i could go on all day! the camera is slow and even wen the phone is on vibrate the camera still makes that annoying noise (which doesnt even sound like a camera!) wen i turn it off an close it it jus cuts out and doesnt play that tune u get wen u turn it on! ma mums phone doesnt do that! last thing (i promise) wen u select a message tome it plays it wen u turn it on! and thats annoying as hell!!!!!!!!!! please let me know if anyone else has these problems wit the phone. i know its pety but shud a phone really be that annoyin??!!!??!!?!?!?!?

at first it looked a good smart phone but now after 6 months the front is all scratched and looks awful. it last about 2 days before it needs re-charging. Wap is so slow and at times it fails to connect to the internet. whats more you cant get the crazy frog ringtone for it!! grrrr !!! i dont think i'll be going for the X3 when i change.

Not very pleased with this phone. My wife got it for Christmas and we have had problem after problem with it most of which have been mentioned on here many times. Never been able to send the pitcures it takes, the batery life is only a matter of hours, very seldom will it make 2 days. But now it freezes when you try to access the contacts. I don't think we'll be getting another of them or new models

this phone is awful! the battery lasts a day, the screen freezes, and the camera is so slow, you have to keep it still for ages. Also, when you text, it doesn't tell you how many spaces, letters etc you have used, so you very often go over the allowed amount (whatever that is!) and send two messages instead of one....a way for o2 to make more money i guess! i wish i hadnt bought it, i was first attratced to it because of the look...but five months later the front is all scratched and looks horrible! (inevitable really, being put in my bag with keys etc) anyway, i would not reccomend this to anyone!

This phone is truly awful. I've had it for almost 5 months and it's broken 3 times. Looks good, and when it's working it's really easy to use. However (and there are many however's...)The camera didn't work for months (if anyones having trouble getting their mms settings working ring the o2 x2 helpline- 08704584664. They don't seem to like o2 users having this number, but at least they got the settings working.)I can't turn my phone off ever (this is rather hard not to do, as the battery life is in no way great) as when the phone is turned on again it will not bring up the contacts, it just displays the screen 'waiting'. It freezes regularly, and there is very little memory. Compared to friends phones that store 400 mms messages, mine can store 20. For those having trouble getting ringtones go to www.cardboardfish.com At least the ringtones work! I really would not advise anyone to buy this phone, it is not worth the hassel, and for 20 quid more you could do a hell of a lot better!

yes! i had that problem! the battery either drains itself from u turning the phone on, or it simply doesnt charge. and its not like i havent plugged the charger in properly or summit like that, becos i hav. and yes, grr to the camera noise, especially when its dark and takes years to take the pic - u hav to pre-warn the ppl ur taking a pic of to stay in the pose for like 10 seconds lol. ah well, i suppose it makes it quite ammusing...

Has any1 has this problem where you turn your phone off overnight. The next day you come to turn the phone on it wont come on leaves you with a blue screen. So you have to recharge it because ALL the battery has been drained by itself? I have also has the screen frozen several times. I solved this problem by turning the phone off, then back on. The camera quality is really poor. As you have to wait there for a while for the camera to develop the little pic. But the noise makes the person move TOO EARLY! DONT BUY THE PHONE ITS BAD! HAS IT SINCE MID AUGUST!

Hy I've bought a X2 cellphone while I was on vacation In Ingland it worked good it is a nice phone to have and not that expensive, but the only problem i've got now is i've returned to my country which it is aruba and i can't use it because it's blocked and it says that i need a PLUP code to unlock it. anyone else hav the problem that when u turn the phone on sometimes, it doesnt actually turn on - jus goes to the blue scrren and then turns off again? i hav to plug it into the charger (even tho it always has full battery) turn it on, then resent the time and date. it often comes up with 'no service' in place of 02-uk.y does it dooo this?!

I have had the X2 for about 4 months and am already on my third one. This could be due to the fact i am a piss head and keep dropping it. When i tried to rectify the proble by getting a case for it i found its �15 for a thing you have to take the phone out of every time you want to use it, so obviously its going to be broken again soon!! FACT: this phone sucks, the picture quality is rubbish! some features are ok, but doesnt mean its a good phone, its annoying to use, but does look good thats it though(Why are people still posting is this phone any good??? read the comments!). I give more credit to the X1, i also wasnt much of a fan of that phone and they do break easily. So if you have read these comments and you are still thinking of buying this phone? then go see your doctor, as you have some serious issues. Also i have seen the X3 it pretty much kills the X1 and X2 any day!!!

Stacey ur x2 should already have the settings stored in the phone. The reason it asks for them is becoz ur phone needs to be able to connect to GPRS before u can use MMS(pic msging). Try n go onto ur internet n if it wrks send an MMS to urself 2 test both sending and receiving ability.If that fails call ur netwrk provider.

Stacey Visit www.02.co.uk/active Select from right hand sub menu GET SETTINGS. Choose Pay & Go, type in your mobile number, select any handset as it shouldnt make a difference i,e Samsung E700 and the settings will be sent to you for free. Hope that helps, worked for me. If not call O2

Can anyone help me? I txt o2 to enable my media messaging (to be able 2 send them) and got a txt saying "Your picture messaging service is enabled but you will need to set-up your phone. Simply txt ACTIVE to 2020,follow the instructions and save the settings". So i did that and got back "To get o2 active settings,reply to this txt with the number for your fone make e.g. txt 1 for Nokia: 1)Nokia 2)Sony-Ericcson 3)Samsungv200 4)other so then i replied with lots of different things cos i didn't really understand, individually of course ; o2x2 4 my phone number 4) 4)02 Every time i sent a message i received "Welcome to 2020. please reply with the number only:" I really dunno what to do its like wasting all my credit and all i want is photos on my computer!

I've had the O2 X1, for 11 months and 20days . . . ie, waranty is just about to expire . . . then it breaks ! woohoo! (all it would do was start the main o2 logo screen, then turn itself off) took it into O2 store, they said they dont make the X1 anymore, so they'll send me the newer X2 :D - its( x1) a great phone, had no problems apart from the one time where the time froze , then when i opened it it went back to normal . . (oh yeh and the game "jumping bear" is shit . . .) ringtones are ok , , two things that would make it almost perfect, More memory for ringtones/ games / pics/movies , and a longer battery life . 8/10

A PLUP code is basically the same as an NCK code. This is when your trying to put another network sim inside the phone. As its an O2 phone only o2 sims can be used in it. So u need a code to allow the phone to use all networks.

i really like this phone, despite what everyone here says. if u play games on it for ages then the battery will wear down quickly, but if u dont use it obsessively then my battery lasts bout 3 days. I had no faults with it, everything worked, but it is just way too annoying (sometimes the green button is to confirm, sometimes the ok-button...), it is O2s own phone, and O2 does not provise anything for it (and that includes a datacable which the phone should have anyway), but most of the games on their wap site are not for this phone, ringtones on O2s website arent for this phone etc. The phone itself is slow. you have to let it ring for ages before the answer-button works, texting is a drag, the menue is slow, the phone feels cheap and the camera quality is lousy (unless it is a sunny day - and I live in the UK....). Never ever again will I "buy" O2.

If you are a Pay & Go customer text PICON to 21400 and follow the instructions you receive. Text messages charged at standard rate.If you are a Pay Monthly customer, follow the link below. Guys anyone having problems should perform the factory reset of the phone first before returning it to the place of purhase. It may or may not help came across a few faulty o2x2 phones that this helped.

the predictive tx is called ITAP, all u hav to to is go into the msg creator, and press the hash key till it comes up. or to change it permenantely, go into settings, then input and change it into Itap from there.

if u get duplicated contacts all you simply do is go into your phone book then scroll down to the memory status then click on sim and select OK it shud just ave the contacts you had on ur sim (i had that problem now i cant get any ringtones for my fone)

just read other reviews... can someone help... I can send a text but the person can not "reply" to my text as it says number not in use... they have to start a text message from scratch then find me in the address book to send it... it only then do I get my texts... phoned o2 and they can not help althou the "service number says there is not one registered in my "tools " options... but there no were to put one in???? 'Contacts' list issues... arghhh...I have the same problem as mentioned on the site, i.e. The contacts list goes into 'waiting' for days on end and I don't get any incoming texts either then they all come at once. I have used my old SIM card to keep the number. O2 were actually quite helpful on my call and said they could send a new Sim card out to me. It's happened a few times now and spoils an otherwise cool phone. I hope they can fix it, I havent been able to exchange txts for nearly two days now!!! but it sounds like a common problem with old Sims.

Yes mark camera is pretty poor and also its hard to actually get the pictures on the computer (no infra red or bluetooth) the games arent that good for other similiar priced camera phones out there such as sony ericcson and sagem, polo tones are ok but not great sounding, you cant text outside cause the sunlight makes the screen on visible even if u mess about with the contrast =\ overall looks good and would be ideal to pose with but other than that i dont rate this phone at all

Hey. got the phone and a bit disappointed. The camera quality is poop and it doesn't even zoom. Has anyone tried taking photos outside in the sunshine? Apart from the fact that you can't even see the screen when you're taking the photo, they come out white. The choice of ringtones and games on the phone is rubbish too. The only thing this phone has got going for it is the fact that when its closed you can use the front as a mirror. The quality of the calls is also quite good.

i think i hav resolved my problem (with the contacts list.) i took my first phone bac and exchanged it for a new one, but had the same problem. i was using my old sim and didnt think there wld b a problem, but apparently it was too old for the phone.i dont know if this is the case with any of ur phones/sims problems?

Carol, had exactly same problem with both of my faultys, Only way i got it to stop saying "waiting" was to swap it with another sim card and then back again. Although you will find it duplicate the contacts loads and you can never get away from the annoying problem that it keeps happning and 02 support were not very helpfull to me

This is a really nice looking phone and works pretty well to...although here goes! Firstly when you use it outside its very difficult to read the screen, I have had 2 of these phones and they have been both faulty. The phone is buggy especially when you want to use another o2 sim on it now and again, Id avoid buying this phone at all costs.

Hey i have the x2 and i really like it!! BUT there is one problem i get the contact list sometimes wont come up it just says waiting and eventually freezes which means i cant txt or phone unless i know numbers off by heart!! The only solution i found was to take my battery out for a while.... has this happend to you let me know :P

Just got o2 x2 last week and im not that happy with it.Photo memory is very poor, only holds 20 photos and text messages are a nightmare to type.There is no way of entering new words into the predictive text setting which makes it hard to type even the simple words.I might just get my money back.

Not good my mate just brought one of these and hes already having software problems with the phone which won't let him make calls or send text messages the design is nice as for the features well the camera does'nt even have a zoom all in all this phone cost as much as my Orange Motorola V500 but is no way near as good.
