O2 X2i - User Reviews

  • During 23 years of owning mobile technology there have been just two handsets that have failed to live up to the claims, this is one of them. The unit crashes with regularity, draws in moisture to obstruct external display, and somehow connects itself to the web on odd occasions. However I do love the cheap & basic design!

  • paid 90 for this at the start of last year. Finally replaced it and if it wasn't for the hollow attempt to justify the price tag I woulda threw it away much earlier. Main problem was the frequency with which this phone would crash on me. I had about a month where it didn't crash at all but apart from that it would go at least twice every week, even on successive days :( over the piece two of the keys went dodgy with me needing to squeeze like i was trying to gouge an eye to get the thing to switch on or off. (might i point out my previous phone was an old 'green screen' sony with a BT Cellnet sim that i had for 3/4 yrs! and i never managed to break that) Reluctant to fork out 20 for a bit of wire I went for the cheaper option of a Bluetooth Dongle (which, due to mislabelling in Tesco I was given for no cost :) ) but this phone's Bluetooth functionality limited my file transfer between phone and pc to...zero. Half the time i couldn't even understand what people on the other end of calls were saing to me the sound was so bad. Camera was okish but the display made it seem bad. It looked cool tho (woo) If this cost 30 quid I'd be content, 20 and I'd be happy.

  • this is a rebadged benq . it is one 02 badged mobile to avoid . better around

  • I would like to say i recieved this fone last xmas (2005) and it has been fine. I have had only 1 slight problem with it. That is that de "ok" button wont work and i really have to push it hard. The fone its all looks and doesnt have a very good camara or added features.

  • This phone is pants. I received it late last year and it's been a right pain in the ass. The battery life is low, the bluetooth conectivity is pants and the overall phone is a waste of time.

  • does any1 no what the message witha world bhind it iz?

  • this fone iz sick iv got 1 an it wrkz fine tw

  • Like others I got this phone thinking it would be nice, but it's been back to be repeaired twice, first for charging for a DAy and dying, then it wouldn't allow me to send/recieve texts (a common problem with these it seems), and the battery life is a whopping three days max. I followed the instructions for proper charging, but it went from lasting a week to not even half. While my dad's nokia and my brother's motorola last for a week and a half! If you get one that works, they're alright phones, but I'm looking at another one after this, I've already lost some important pictures after my phone was "fixed". My last two phones lasted many years with no problems, this one had screwed up twice in 8 months!

  • I received the ox2i in April this year as a replacement. I have had nothing but problems with it and I am now on the third brand new handset which I picked up from the Kettering branch just over a week ago, i now cannot send or receive texts. Since receiving phone, o2 repair centre have had it longer than I have. Is it possible to have a totally diffeerent model sent to me as i have lost faith in this one. I would appreciate an answer and any other suggestions on what to do. Thank you. S. Allan

  • about this phone, when people try to bluetooth me ringtones it says memory full, does anyone have the same problem or can they do it already if you have done it then could you help me?please.

  • nice replacement for by battered old X1 - thanks O2! Re. problems with limited bluetooth/MMS capabilties: A friend has pointed out there's a space under the battery, just above the SIM housing, with connections available to insert an extra memory card, thus allowing bigger files to be used. Have only just started to look into this and will keep you all posted. Meanwhile, does anyone know more about this?

  • too bad that it has no infared or better graphics

  • Have just received an X2i as a replacement for the X1. Don't know if I'm being really thick but I can't work out how to assign shortcut keys for speed dialling. Can anyone help? Thanks

  • it means you have a mms, it goes to another folder. Messaging->Multimedia. I had the same problem :)

  • well i can't get a user guide for this phone so i don't know how some things work! i got a message symbol, an envelope with the world behine it and i can't find a message for it anywhere? what does this mean folks, can someone help me?? cheers :)

  • i dont know wether i should ir shouldnt but this phone because it looks far too big. please would you reply back and tell me how big it is. thank you

  • this phone LOOKS amazing, BUT!!for those out there who want a phone to play mp3's, this is NOT the phone for you!! it only has 3mb memory, thats only just enough for one small mp3, also the camera is not great, and the screen is just not good enough for 2006! nice ringtones, the only reason to buy this phone is if you want to talk or text (it also has some nice features for texting!.).

  • i had the O2X1 but i had 2 send it back bcos it was a fire hazard. O2 said they would send me the O2 X2i as a replacement phone. I was just wondering those who have this phone, has it got MP3 player on it? pleaz email me and tel me thanx

  • fantatic, you can send and recieve music and it does have a video camera

  • I have one and for the price you can't beat it. Highly recommended! interesting point - use phone compare with BenQ M580 it's identical so who actualy makes it? the forthcoming BenQ-Siemens EF91 looks like it also comes from the same stable. If it's as good as the X2i it will be worth the wait if you want a good mid-range 3G phone.

  • You can buy contracts with free phone but it is a good buy of pay as you go. small and handy. not excellent good finishing, it could have been better in silver color.functions are ok.good buy if you are looking for small phones.

  • no the phone can not recieved video files and music files. I have one and tried it but i had my phone only 2 weeks and my wap settings has played up and the funny thing is you can not send the settings from the internet to your mobile dodgy as.

  • I was wondering is you could recieve videos because the doest actually record them ?? so des any 1 know and also does the fone recieve music files because im thinking of this phone thank you.!!! thats if you know that is

  • this phone is the best I had ever had its got a great camera on it so anyone who is thinkin about gettin one go ahead and get it

  • hey im thinking about gettin this phone but unsure any advice?

  • hiyyaaa ppl lukin at this fone an wondering to but it is it worth it and hows the bluetooth on it ??

  • Hi, I love this phone, it looks good, feels good, build quality is great. Clarity of calls is good. I am currently upgrading my wifes phone (she doesn't like the x2i, says it's a blokes phone), everytime I take the X2I out in phones4u, the link, orange etc. It gets oohs and aaahhhs. The only thing wrong with it is that there isn't a full Bluetooth stack or pim synch functionality, you can only pass phone cards one by one via bluetooth. If they had included this then this, IMHO, would have beaten the Pebl hands down

  • hi does any 1 know if you can recieve music by bluetooth everytime i try it either says not enough memory or invalid file? i can recieve pics tho :)

  • Could some one please tell me how to get the settings so that i can recieve picture messages.

  • its a very good phone i got 1 myself

  • Nice Phone. good battery life, pretty light and small. Downsides are not many features, the screen seems to be a TFF screen but not as good as the ones on the Sony Erricsons. Also the T9 is pretty slow. and the O2 Icons in the menu look pretty ugly. I got a feeling this phone is based on a samsung phone, does anyone know which model?

  • sionyn u can download java games from the o2 website. there is a link in the games menu that takes u straight to the o2 website on the fone

  • this phone is good for the money, people who are complaining shoudnt expect to much from a flip phone costing only around 80 quid ! its has blue tooth pretty good camera, pretty good games, fair amount of memory, looks nice , pretty cool ringtones n screensavers etc, id definitly recommend it!

  • getting it for christmas is it a good mobile and were do u download javagames

  • yes it does caroline. you have to be careful wen buyin a fone with bluetooth because sometimes they only have voice-only bluetooth

  • Does this phone let you download bluetooth data. I looked at the X1i the other day and although it has bluetooth you can't download anything you can only use it for the headset

  • I can't get this to be used as a dial up modem for my PC. I sometimes have to send faxes and thought this would be good to utilize the Blue tooth as a modem, especially on the road. So unless someone knows then it's a waste of cash for me. I only need a phone to be a phone, unless it can do faxing, not interested

  • yea it does allow u lauren. Eek meesa likie this fone alot! Tis ma baby now tee hee.

  • does this fone allow you to put songs u have recieved on bluetooth to set as your ringtone?

  • really headache... dont get this phone around Indonesia... I was looking this phone for my gf bday presents.. when I step around phone shop, they even dont know X2i exist.. "x2i? are u dreaming? there is no such things" wadaheck answer I got here.. Instead they offering me XDA IIi.. I was wondering where I could buy this and how much the price? anyone would mind to tell me how much is this?

  • This mobile is great, if you are looking at buying this make no exception. Great price, and a wonderful design. The best phone i'v ever brought (For the price) Thanks

  • not verry nice at all sorry folks !!!!!!!!!1

  • Lovely Phone, Easy to use, And Affordable. Looks good, feels good, its light, and CHEAP.

  • yeoo im da 1st person: dis fone isnt nice on da outside but on the inside it looks bit like the samsung E530
