That's the problem, you're conflating a company with where a nation. Perhaps that's normal thinking in China due to state owned enterprise but in most of the world, the market dictates winners and losers. I'm sure in China the government could dictate what OS to use. Symbian OS, Windows Mobile, Blackberry OS, Palm OS, Samsung own's Bada OS now turn Tizen, HP's webOS, etc, all already ended. Google's Android OS has come a long way, and it is the benchmark right now for smartphone OS. All others smartphone manufacturer besides Apple with their own IOS are depending on Google's Android to sel their smartphone, even at China where there is no Google Play store, it is still 100% Android OS, and is using their own Apps store, which is 100% Android apps, just that the hosting server is at China. The same scenario happen on Desktop and Laptop, do you see any laptop not installed with Windows other than Apple own's Desktop and Laptop? I never see anyone install Linux for real usage. Then Huawei's proprietary NM Card, it will cease production earlier than expected.

Wait for another 5 months for a phone to come out with Harmony OS. It's at least 50 Percent faster than Android 9.0 OS. Look for all the Chinese phone makers to ride that wave. Just Samsung, Sony and Google will be left with the uncompetitive Android.

The volume goes down itself in call and then some function get stuck sometimes ,sometimes Instagram doesn't respond. The camera quality is not clear . The amount is still a big amount for the quality 🙄🙄🙄

I recently switched from a Galaxy S8 to this phone. Often my call volume is so low that even on MAX volume I can only hear the other person if I'm in a totally noise free environment. I never had this issue with my galaxy S8, I'm using the same headphones. I spoke with OnePlus support. They told me that the only solution is to send my phone in for repair which will take upto 10 DAYS! When I said it didn't work for me to be without a phone for 10 days they told me I should wait until I got a replacement phone. Soooo.... I just got my shinny now Oneplus 7 pro and I already need another phone!!!!! OnePLUS should let us know we need a back up phone to have a oneplus.

Great phone. Solid build. Fast and always responsive. I never use the 90 Mhz refresh and I have had all day battery use. I normally end up with 20-15 percent left over starting at 4am and turning off my phone at 8pm. Sound is amazing and screen is crystal clear. OnePlus out did themselves on this phone. I switched to a 6t because of a review I saw on unbox therapy. Lew's response was spot on. I recommend this phone and if I don't like my 7t, I will return it and stick with this phone until the 8 pro comes out.

Had the same dilemma, note 10 looks good and feels good but ultimately chose oneplus cause it just is faster and camera difference for a regular eye are minor, i guess. My galaxy buds work great with it and though no IP rating it still can handle rain drops.

I bought this to play PUBG mobile. Playing experience is outstanding. But after a few weeks I have problems like - stereo speakers not working couple of times (restarting makes them work again.), sometime the Game start lagging like low end phones, even though I have 8gb of RAM switching between just two apps Pubg and whatsapp stucks the phone. I guess this problem is after updating my phone oxygen os10. No longer I am able to see lighting icon while charging in status bar. My warp charges also became slower than how fast it was during Oxygen os not updated to 10.

I like the big internal storage and the full screen, but I wouldn't buy because I like to have SD Cards, for several reasons and upgrade them from time to time, it's great specially when traveling, and even more importantly for the headphone jack, listening my music while everyone sleeps or no to bother other passengers, it's minimum common courtesy. These 2 don't take up much space and are what every manufacturer does for their customers, that inspire to buy and to remain loyal, 2 aspects that OnePlus apparently is too arrogant and pretentious to comply with, even if it means successfully low cost improvements that would make great competition points with other bigger competitors like Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy. I really like the big full screen for reading ebooks and and comfortable display, really a ++ feature, big internal storage a ++ too, but shoots itself on the foot by not giving the user all the options available, so it not comfortable so that's a -- so a potential great phone, become a mediocre one, it's really sad that just for these secondary reasons this wonderful phone is uncomfortable to use at times and a problem more than a solution. I almost never see some Company to manufacture a product that wins so hard, to be sabotaged as hard, looks almost on purpose, too bad mediocrity and not excellency wins, I hope they reconsider, this is such a techno-tragedy

I'd recommend the 7Pro to any Apple user...phone is as good as an iPhone...innovative design too...And it seems faster and smoother...better screen too...no notch is nice..you don't realize it until you have a phone without any holes or notches in the screen...super nice... critics slam OnePlus for it's camera...but I like the way it works.... you can use usb-c to 3.5 mm jack to get the unique sound from an aux jack. but you will not be able to charge the device unless you get an adapter that also has usb-c split with the 3.5 mm jack. they're available on ebay for a couple bucks. I'm very disappointed one plus decided not to include the jack because this phone is great otherwise. they're just being apple sheep

Kindly help. There is a light green feature that I am told to swipe to unlock my OnePlus 7 Pro. I don't like it and am unable to remove it. It was not there when I started using the phone so I don't know where I touched for it to appear. After swiping then the finger print scanner appears. Quite a waste of time. I previously owned an iPhone 6 and it was going out of its "generation". The battery capasity was the key thing that i was looking from a phone. I asked my telecommunications company what they recommend and they said OnePlus. They had it already on the sale, few days prior the release and i've never regretted a second from changing to OnePlus from iPhone, battery is so good and it will last muuuuuch longer than iPhones all the way. I have had this phone since June 20th.It is sweet! There was an update out prior to me receiving the phone.I downloaded the update Oxygen 9.5.8 before using the phone. The update was mostly about the cameras.I have had sharp pix from the beginning.Another camera update came a few weeks later Oxygen 9.5.10. You can't see any difference now with Samsung s10+ pix. Versatility is factored but there's always something missing in a phone that other competitors have. Am yet to be be swayed from observing this could be the fastest smartphone in the world as of now. I'm using the oneplus 7 pro 12gb version from more than a month the battery life is good I'm using the phone with 90htz refresh rate on automatic resolution it's consume the battery more but some time I'm put it in battery saving mode but still I'm getting a good battery life that last the hole day from 8 A.M to 10 P.M for me it's great

The camera is atrocious ! Even with the new updates it is slow to load, and there is a HUGE lag between when you hit the shutter button to when it takes the actual picture. Need to catch a fast moving object ? Forget about it, the camera will still be focusing. Need to capture something on the fly? You will miss it because the camera is loading. Low light photos are bad, day time has a weird colour to it. Not what id expect for $1000

That's right, but 4K at 120fps is possible to do and I wasn't really serious about it. 960fps is better IMO. You're Sony device probably records at a locked ISO and bitrate. This is what my phone does, it sets the ISO to 800 (which makes the footage grainy) and the bitrate is also garbage. 4K slow motion is a stretch, but I was leaning mostly on 960fps because it's more realistic and a lot of phones already have the option to do that, so I'm just throwing that in. By the way, halfing the speed on 4K 60fps itsn't really practical... and 960fps requires a lot of RAM so it's shouldn't last long from the get-go. Now when I think about it, 2K 120fps/240fps is something that OnePlus could do.

4k slow motion? You can half speed 4k 60fps. No phones have 4k 120fps. 960fps is a gimmick. On my Sony I can shoot 1080p 960fps, but it is really poor quality and doesn't last long.

Streaming media is dead media. Never have i heard of a streamer using emulators, roms or doing anything that is related to being a power user. Most youtubers like MKBHD and Lou are just scratching the surface of being a power user. Once they get beyond the average "foto here, spotify there, youube video over here a few tweets got, here's a notification", etc. then they can start getting into power-user territory. My old non touch symbian Nokia would be enough for their leisure.

I currently have the 256GB/8GB RAM option and I can tell you that I have around 10-15GB of apps/games, 10GB of photos and videos and 30GB of music. even if I got the lowest version of the phone I would still have less than half of the storage used. If I ever take enough photos/videos to fill up 128GB/256GB I would imagine I would back them up in other places as well-meaning that I could delete them from my phone. I really like to buy music and have all my music downloaded to my phone but right now 99% of the people that I know use services like apple play or Spotify so most people don't use that much space ever. Never have I ever heard a person say they've filled any phone with 128gb+ storage since that's an enormous amount of storage for our streaming media era :)

If you're staying inside water with your fingers, the fingerprint will disappear for a bit and any fingerprint scanner will have problems with it. I got out of the shower and slightly wiped my finger and it worked flawlessly

The Note 9 has the things it lacks and minus the ultra wide angle camera and the newer processor. It's a difficult choice. But I'll say that you go for the OnePlus 7 pro

OnePlus does an awesome job in its devices, bit the problem in this is the 90hz refresh rate, I mean it's not bad, but it drains a lot of battery, so most of the time you have to keep it charged at 80%-100% to last atleast a whole working day. That's the only problem. Now the good part, it has a very good trio of cameras. OnePlus should've implemented the 960 fps slow motion like Sony, Xiaomi, Samsung and Huawei. ZTE is another story with 1920 fps slo Mo. The audio via the type c port is really good.

Oneplus software is not much good. It does not allow u to use/change lenses while on video/pro/panorama and portrait mode. And the camera algorithm is worse than the competition. The honor 20 pro is better, and the DXO score is a joke, everything else is very good except the cameras, it is just, not up to the standard. Glad the GCAM works on this phone

They sure as hell haven't been terrible to me, and I'm not seeing anybody complaining about a recent experience. They sent me a replacement 7 pro and then I decided to return the replacement and the money was in my account 48h after they finished the inspection. At least in Europe their support seems to currently be great, but I can see it not being this great outside of Europe because, well, the law is most favorable to the consumer here.

I have used Note 8, Note 9, S10 plus and now OnePlus 7 pro. To be honest I am in love with OnePlus 7 pro full bezel and notchless 90hz screen (have forced it on all apps and games) with QHD+ resolution and now I just can't think of going back to 60hz. Battery is still great and easily gives me day+ time. Plus the warp charger does 50% in 20 mins. Camera is quite good unlike popular opinion but not as good as S10 plus. Oxygen is the most OS I have ever used. Few things I badly miss though include Headphone jack, AOD and S pen. Was looking forward to Note 10 and Mate 30 pro but both have no signs of 90hz screen and both have punch hole. Seems I'll stick to OnePlus 7 pro at least this year.

One of the best Android phones i have ever used. Makes me smile whenever I use it because of the vibrant display and design. The Official Nylon Bumper is the best case for me-very slick design! It's very fast, but still I experienced a few bugs like touch glitches, missed notifications(yahoo), and unresponsive timed do not disturb mode(in use with ringer widget). I hope that future updates will improve it further. Great job Oneplus!

** There is no headphone jack ** The phone is a great alternative to Samsung if the exclusives don't tickle your fancy. The price does also reflect that, but I find that the software is perfect for all means. The battery life exceeds expectation for me. Even with constant use, I can wake up on my day off and not worry about moving my charger or sitting in certain ways. The camera is better than Samsung's and it's better protected, but the safety mechanism that does protect it is hard to test and frankly not worth it to me. ** BUT no headphone jack means the entry cost of having this phone raises and you also have to consider the reliability of adapters, wireless headphones, Bluetooth, etc. which I have never been a fan of. Jumping straight into a reliable setup is going to raise the cost to match the current Samsung. But I can recommend LG Tone for headphones. They're wireless, so you have less equipment to keep up, and they keep out of the way with retractable ear phones and the device lays around your neck. It will also replace the need for an adapter. But if your car doesn't have Bluetooth, it may be better to keep your eyes on adapters. All of which are complete crap. If you coddle your adapter, you can get any of them, whatever. But if you're like me, and treat it like a piece of equipment that you need everyday, in your car and at home, then you're outta luck. All adapters add wear to the device, and to themselves quickly. A cheap one *might* add more wear to your phone faster, but who's to say an expensive one won't? TLDR: The idea of the phone is great, but the lack of a headphone jack is an absolute counter to it's pros. It's an inexpensive phone that competes with Samsung, but has no compatibility and requires external hardware that may strip your charger port.

I have read most of the posts here about the 1+ 7 pro, and there is so much confusion. When my s7 edge died because of faulty motherboard after 3 and a half years of exhaustive use, I had to choose a new mobile. IPhone is expensive, I didn't want to try Samsung again so I searched and compared for other1 devices. Selfies are not my thing so the pop up camera was not an issue to me. Besides, it's sturdy and reliable in the oneplus 7 pro. Wireless charging is not a must especially since oneplus 7 pro charges really fast. Camera was not as good as s10+ but oneplus had the reputation for frequent updates that could improve the camera too. No SD card, but I mostly use cloud services and I backup often so no issue there too. I never liked notches so the large and free screen (let go the great refresh rate) guaranteed a better movie /series experience. I was Very hesitant towards oneplus 7 pro and then I saw the variant (12gb ram with 256gb storage capacity) nebula blue, saw the price and even compared it again vs note 9 and s10+. The price difference at the time due similar specs (late may) between the 7pro vs the 2 models from Samsung (for my user requirements) did not give me any good reasons to buy neither s10+ nor note 9. So I took a leap of faith and till today I haven't regretted it buying the 1+. Moreover, oxygen os and the haptic feel of the device were one more positive point I discovered during the use of the device. Overall a great device and happy to have it!

Curved displays are generally bad to type on, also for me. I had the Sony xz3, and that was horrible. I had to give up using the phone because of the curved display. I also swore that I should not get a phone with curved display again. But then I got a good deal on the 7 pro. Somehow it is much better to type on than the xz3. I do not regret buying this. It is seriously smooth. The display protection doesn't bother me at all. I am generally happy with the phone as it is.

If you think OP7+ is expensive and waiting for OP8, you will be disappointed. Likely similar price or slightly higher. 3.5mm jack is gone. US variant direct from OnePlus arrived in 2-3 days, a day earlier than estimated! Package included pre-installed screen protector, crystal clear flexible case (slim with raised buttons, nice cutouts), and a Warp 30 charger + USB-C cable in a nice box (one half red, other half white.) Screen is gorgeous! Curved edges are slim and not too curved. Brightness in sunlight is good. Nebula blue has a satin finish over metallic sheen, changes color in the light and is beautiful, even with included clear case. Pop-up selfie camera works great and quick, makes a quiet whir sound when actuating. Photos are clear and not over-saturated. 3x zoom in good light produces nice photos, hard to notice difference with normal distance photos. Slo-mo video recording is great at 1080p 240fps! 720p 480 fps is decent but needs ample lighting to preserve details and reduce noise. UI is gorgeous, includes several tasteful icon themes. 90 Hz refresh rate is as good as people say for scrolling and reading. Reddit, Facebook run very well on this display. Received 5% student discount and free shipping for 8GB/256GB Nebula Blue for ~$640 US. Great deal compared to more expensive Galaxy S10 line in US prices ($750 - $1000+). Lack of wireless charging is slightly less convenient but not a deal-breaker at all. No 3.5mm jack, I don't mind either; I use Bluetooth or wait for good USB-C headphone solutions. Updated to latest software, I never experienced "phantom touch" screen sensitivity issue. I considered ASUS Zenfone 6, but got tired of waiting for US release and didn't want to settle for LCD flat display and slow 18W charging. Xiaomi Mi 9 Global has great performance and price but has less US carrier bands than US-designated variants, so I did not buy it. For this reason, I did not consider non-US variants with limited bands for the country's carriers. I am very happy with my purchase.

It's time for oneplus team to focus on the camera and design. Really the pop mechanism is cool thing but it's not what we wanted. Look at meizu 16xs they had a small chin up and bottom and the camera fits there properly. Lacking a headphone jack and waterproofing at this kind of price.. Really oneplus you want us to spend this much money for a phone like this. Also poor camera performance. If u are raising the price up to a flagship level you should give us all these things. UFS 3.0 claims seem to be true, judging by performance. CPDT benchmark gave 260 MB/s sequential write speeds and and 1050 MB/s read speeds - way more than typical flagship with 150/700 MB/s. I don't think there's any other UFS 3.0 phone out there yet (Galaxy Fold is the only alternative that comes to mind).

at the end of the day you are paying for what you are getting in regards to a phone as it is a better model than the normal oneplus 7 even though it doesn't have an ip rating etc it is still one of the best ones available for what your getting but if your not happy with it then don't get it then instead of slating it for the price which to be honest is still cheaper than the likes of Samsung and apple for a far superior phone in my opinion

It is beast! But if OnePlus had put waterdrop notch style camera instead of motorized camera it will be alot better and OnePlus should gave us a 3.5 mm jack. Display is decent not brighter that OnePlus 6T. I have this phone and I play games and entertainment and this is great for it.

Having considered these 2, I bought OP7Pro as it was quite cheaper, but realize it was a mistake. For all the hype, OP7 pro is an oversized OP7, is all. The 90 Hz is a mixed blessing and the screen no brighter than OP6T. I suggest you go for s10+ due to less weight, better camera, brighter display, expandable memory, 3.5 mm jack, IP rating, wireless charging.

I bought the 6/128 version. The screen is great, camera is above average, the UI nice, performance nice and sound is good too. I dislike the curved edges, lack of 3.5mm jack, weight and size, and very unexceptional battery life (1 day) with moderate usage. If they had offered 8/256 at this price, it would be a flagship killer. I think I should have waited and gone for OP7 8/256 version instead.

But this S10plus destroys almost every other thing on the Oneplus 7 pro, it is water resistant, has better camera, better battery, better speakers, much higher storage which is ALSO EXPANDABLE, has earpiece. For me the brand is the one that gives you the best value, Oneplus has never been a cheap phone manufacturer, it's aim is "value for your money", so their prices go up at the same rate that the overall premium market segment does. In 2014 when OnePlus release their first phone the price diference with the Samsung flagship that year was around $300. And 5 years later that price difference with the Oneplus 7 Pro and the S10+ is still $300. The price bump is necessary to maintain the market segment they are after, the one looking for best value, not lowest price.

People keep complaining about this phone not being waterproof and not having a headphone jack... Why? If in 2019 you don't have a Bluetooth headset/headphones you can buy a cheap pair for basically nothing, or alternatively buy a USB-C - 3.5mm Jack converter for even less. You arguable get better quality sound with headphones that connect directly via USB-C. And as for waterproof, there a video on YouTube with this thing surviving over 20 mins underwater with no lasting damage. This phone is the closest to perfect as any of us could ask for and is a huge leap in the right direction for smartphones, and at this price!! Stop complaining people, get a grip!

It's like carrying "nuclear core" in the pocket. These SAR-values should have come down to 0.8 W/kg. In addition, the price of 700,- euros the basic version 6GB/128GB is simply too high! Yaa i was huge fan of oneplus till they removed headphone jack because they always say that they listen to consumers and last year they took a poll on twitter and 80% polled for headphone jack.If they had included it will be a deal but now this is not much a deal.Like samsung every year announces $900 or 1000 smartphones.But that will go down within months.Like now in my country the s10 is around $700 dollar and note 9 is same price as oneplus 7(not pro) so its no big deal.

Thanks for the heads up. Funny part about that is that of COURSE the Chinese ROM won't run Google well...in CHINA. Google is still banned in China. Global ROM will probably run everything smoothly. Funnier part is that I don't use ANY Google app except for MAYBE Maps (only when Waze isn't working). I use Rocket for my music player, Firefox for the browser, Textra for messaging, Truecaller for Phone, OfficeSuite Pro for Office stuff, and Simple Gallery Pro for picture/video storing. I know where I can install a modded version of Google Play Store as well as using VPN to trick my location just in case anyway so I'm covered.

The fact that it does not have a micro SD card slot is a draw back but I am willing to sacrifice it since OOS is the best Android skin out there. The lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack though, that is a big problem imo. I had a Mate 20 Pro and had to change it because the audio was horrible. I bought a Note 9 and jesus the difference is huge, I wanted to buy the OP7 Pro and give the Note to my wife but I don't think its going to happen.

I'm passing on this year's OnePlus devices. I wanted a OnePlus device with a larger screen than the one on the OnePlus 6 that I previously owned. The fact that it's a curved screen just turned me completely off. The regular OnePlus is also no larger than the OnePlus 6 so I that's not an option. A 6.7" screen with no curves would have solidified a purchase for me.

Please see the battery endurance of the ASUS ROG and Razer 2 phones; the ROG with only a 1080p and 90hz refresh rate and a 4,000 mAH battery. OnePlus should have gone at minimum 4,500mAH.

If not the SD card slot, at LEAST the Nano Memory card. I certainly never use the 2nd SIM card so I don't see why we couldn't have the choice of using it as expandable memory. If it honestly had that, bigger battery (4,000mAH isn't enough for that display) and wireless charging, I'd get it in a heartbeat but I guess they care more about vibration motors.

The Galaxy Note 9 phone is too small of a phone that crops photos and videos because the screen is too small. The 7 Pro would have been perfect if they kept the no bezel, upped the battery size to 5000mAh, and did a 7.3'' screen with 18.5:9 ratio.

This phone is the exact same size as the already too small 6.3'' Galaxy Note 8 except a tiny 1mm wider. At this rate of no bezels they could make the perfect phone at 7.5'' & 18.5:9 ratio with no bezel and it would still be smaller than the old school phablets the Honor Note 10 or Mate 10. Such a shame that noone makes any true Phablets anymore because of some really backwards thinking that a phone can't ever go wider than 75mm so they just always get taller and more awkward with ever more stupid screen ratios like 19.5:9. A headphone jack is necessary for gaming. Bluetooth has a slight latency (feels like 0.5-1 second) that makes it unbearable.

I feel OnePlus is so behind and cheaping out on Cameras, their 7 Pro triple camera setup is midrange at best and not even talking about 7 which will not even going to have a wide lens. Very disappointing, it is truly lacking features, will be just mediocre again in camera territory, honestly it is just a midrange phone with top chip and good screen, not to mention massive price jump for basically nothing in return. How they are not even ashamed in saying IP waterproofing is to expensive with 800 Euros prices tag, while midrange phones have it priced at 200 Euros. Was really looking forward to OnePlus as my next phone, but this is a real let-down. Lets just wait for 900-1000 Euros priced 7T Pro, maybe it will fix its flaws and finally will be a flagship and not just midrange with flagship chip.

In my own opinion, card slot is important, when it comes to safe keeping of docs or photos.. if the smrtphone will be broken or damage.. you can retreave some file, docs, photos that you saved in the card and also avoid some scandal issue hacked by the repair technician.. just remove the card and your privacy will be safe.

Your logic on cameras is flawed. There's a big difference between digital zoom and optical zoom. A lens with a 48mp AND optical zoom will give you considerably better quality on the zoom than a straight 48mp, then zoomed in after the photo is taken. The difference will be tremendous.
