Bought it last week, cant afford to buy it 10 years ago. This phone is sweet, small and lightweight. Have to download Opera Mini from other phone and transfer it thru bluetooth,bcos sony ericsson apps internet and playnow been terminated many years ago. Able to download alot of java games and apps and themes.Really bring back to the memories of 2000s-2010s. (Np lil-wayne-lollipop.mp3 )

Overally a great purchase! (120 euros about 4 years ago) I've head this phone for about 4 years, and even though sometimes the calculator app crashes and it has become slow in booting, it works just fine. You don't see that in many expensive smartphones these days, so I'm very happy about it! I think that it will continue to function for many years actually! Please note that I have not installed any software update cause my local networks won't allow it, but it's still fine. Specs-wise, it wasn't even really high-end for its time, hence the low price. The lack of wifi is annoying, but i logged with paied internet once and it was slow-that's to be expected with this hardware. But as a phone and life companion it has been just perfect: a place to store notes, listen to decent quality music, watch plain videos, take plain photos, play some nice old games, use usefull preinstalled apps etc. Love the design too, and the OS was probably the best of its time. Sony Ericsson has everything made very user-friendly indeed. I intend to replace it soon so I came here to add my opinion and experience about it.

Hi i am using this phone from 2010. This phone is very good regarding everything,but the earpiece is too low to hear. and another thing is that standard battery for this phone is not available now. I have asked to Sony service stations for battery they told me that this phone is no longer available from Sony anymore after separating from Ericsson so now onwards no any spare parts will be provided by Sony for this model, including batteries. so i have got installed battery of another make(ERD), with this battery phone is working well since one year.

I used to own one, which is a free phone for starting a new plan a couple years ago, but I switched back to my old Motorola V3 RAZA after 3 weeks of using it (yes, I am an old school guy). First of all, the buttons on the SONY J105 are too tiny for me since I have big thumbs; I pressed 4 buttons at a time ! Another problems are including ringtone volume is not loud enough plus the vibration is too weak, which made me missing lots of calls when I was outdoor even I put it in my jean's pocket. The camera is good, even it has only 2M pixels. It is far better than I expected. The picture quality is far good enough for posting pictures on Facebook etc. However, I never figured out a logical way to find the pictures those I had taken or downloaded(copied) onto the phone or the memory card. All the pictures are somehow automatically arranged and located according to how the phone wants. That is, I kept on missing some pictures (not too many) I have taken and copied. I didn't know where they are stored, or actually not stored. They emphasise that the phone is made of recycling material. Yes, I am sure because the back cover curved after just one week of using the phone. It cannot tightly cover the back of the phone; there is a tiny slit anyway. I only opened it up about 3 times so far for replacing the SIM and microSD cards. Futhermore, the battery doesn't last long. I needed to charge it every second day, which is not supposed to be on a non-smart phone. I only need to charge the V3 RAZA every 5 days even 1 week ! My opinion is: it is very un-user-friendly in many ways. Unless you really need a very thin, small and light weight non-smart phone, and you have small fingers, otherwise don't take it.

I am having it for last three yrs. Awesome phone. Only Call Recieving speaker is very low. Otherise everything is upto satisfation. To clean the charging point, scrap very lightly with your knife point to remove the corrosion on the brass stri in the mobile & also on the points of the insert plug. It immidiatly gives good connection & charging. Since the copper on the brass strip gets corroded very fast in our polluted cities.

In order to use internet in this phone my advice to you is first download Opera mini web browser in the phone then use the internet. You will then smoothly use the internet in Naite. I am also doing the same.

No you can't use it's front camera for taking pics. It is there only for video calling. That's it. I am also using this phone since 2009. Must say it is one of the best phone by Sony Ericsson. I am proud to have it.

TO Solve the Charging Pin problem. Take a safety pin. and select the pins from(10 pins) you want clean. move the safety pin up to down in pin port . after cleaning it will be shine. check now. if not working... touch the pin port in your tongue. i tried working like new phone. [email protected]

hi, using j105 Naite since sometime very less usage, everything looked better suddenly during charging tried to open Bluetooth the screen went blank white.Took it to the sony service, they told software had got corrupted and to reload the software costing 300/-. after couple of hours they informed motherboard is gone as the software is unable to install and it costs 2500/-. finally they charged me 100/- for letting me know this. I am feeling sorry to say that I shall never go with sony again because this didn't serve my purpose even though usage is very less with j105. But Motorizr Z3, C5, iphone4 doing better-purchased before than j105, they are all working better till date.

This phone is simply great, i bought this phone in october 2010,, since two years this phone is working absolutely fine, its battery life is too good. This phone works really great in 3G i have used it several times(also by connecting it with pc in 3G mode). it really works great.. The sound or earpiece and loud speaker are little bit slower but its ok, not an issue. In this range this is great phone with dual cameras which many phone lacks even their prices are high. But in India this phone is not available, sony ericsson should continue to manufacture this kind of phones. Thanks........

Been using this since Oct 2010. Works really well and the battery lasts up to 3 days with occasional picture/video takes ad music play. But after a few accidental drops (thanks to my clumsy hands), recently it is taking 2-3 minutes to open a text message and send a reply. Could accidental falls be the culprit why it has slowed down? P.S. Planning to upgrade to either Ray or Pro, but I need a phone with SE Active's durability & toughness since I drop my phone sometimes. Lucky I haven't dropped this Naite into the water---yet.

This phone crap! I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy! I got a Sony Ericsson Naite (J105a) just over 2 years ago. I am usual pretty laid-back about phones as for me they are only an emergency devices, so I tend to keep the same phone for 5 or more years until there is an insurmountable problem that necessitates getting a new one. This phone however is so badly programmed that I'm changing phones as soon as I can after my contract is up. Furthermore, when I told Sony Ericsson, repeatedly, about the problems I got no response at all other than the automated ticket number dispenser E-mail. The problems I've encountered are. 1. Although it is possible to change between Standard Time (ST) and Daylight Saving Time (DST) manually there is nothing in the manual about how to do it. (I found it accidentally.) 2. Changing the time, regardless of whether time is changed by: A. using the phone's ST to DST change feature, B. changing the actual clock time, either by, using the phone's time setting feature, or using the PC Suite/Companion time setting feature, or allowing the service provider to change the time. changes the times of ALL the entries in the calendar. This means that appointments are move ahead or back as the the switch to or from ST - DST is made requiring all the entries to be corrected. 3. Backing up the phone, changing the time, and then restoring the calendar exacerbates the problem by: A. changing all entries in the calendar to appointments, (i.e. birthdays, vacations, and events are ALL become appointments.) B. turning off the All day tags. I suspect that this is the case for all restores! 4. When entering an annual event (such as a wedding anniversary, or the anniversary of an important event (such as the 1st moon landing)) the calendar will not accept any dates before 1971. Currently the only way to add such a date is to categorize the event as a 'Birthday.' (There should be an 'Anniversary' tag.) 5. The Delete function removes data items indiscriminately. It should be possible to set a bit, in a data item such as blood test results, to prevent automatic removal. 6. When tagging an entry as a 'Birthday' it is saved as a 1 time occurrence, unless changes are made manually. The 'All day' and 'Yearly Recurrence' tags should be set automatically. (This should be true for the 'Anniversary' tag also.) 7. 'Birthdays' are displayed as a 'Special Day.' The age of the person/event should be displayed. i.e This is the 43rd anniversary of the 1st moon landing or This is Albert Einstein's 133rd birthday. 8. When an entry in the calendar is edited, regardless of whether or not the 'Recurrence' bit is set to 'Yearly' the entry is treated as if it is a 1 time occurrence, even 'Birthdays!' However, when the 'Find' function is used the entry is displayed as having the 'Recurrence' bit set. 9. Sony Ericsson PC Suite/Companion recognizes only the 'Appointment' tag. The 'Birthday,' 'Vacation,' and 'Other' tags are ignored. 10. Floating dates can not be entered. (i.e. Labour Day is the 1st Monday of September not a fixed calendar date.) 11. When PC Suite/Companion upgraded the software on the phone there was no warning to back up the phone first! All the Java apps I added and their associated data were wiped out! 12. After about a year the connector of the headset I bought would not maintain contact, unless I held it, so the headset became useless. Even the charger started misbehaving. All in all , I think it's a crappy phone! I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy!

It looks good, it is thin and light in weight but I have faced lots of problems after using it for a while: 1) Battery runs out quickly, unless I am not really using it and just leave it in standby mode. 2) The recycling "green" material used to make this phone is pretty weak. The back cover's shape deforms and doesn't hold to the phone body tightly, in less than a year. 3) I cannot use any MP3 ringtone another than those come with the phone. Unfortunately, the built-in ringtones are not loud enough. 4) The vibration alert is weak. 3)&4) have made me missed lots of calls. 5) Sometime some of the pictures taken are missing from the picture folder in the phone without a reason. I don't know where to find them. 6) After a year of using the phone, some buttons sometimes are not responding. I gave up this phone after using it for 13 months.

The phone is value for money. But after 1 yr use nw it has come up wid a problem. The phone gets off when its shaked or sometimes evn b4 a shake..does any1 encountered the same prob? How much does it cost to repair? i tried a s/w update. But that dint solve the problem. Also the screen goes white sometimes. then i hve to remove battery and insert it again.

@husam, your youtube is not working because your internet streaming is not right. Go to settings,connectivity,internet streaming.now select the service provider net settings.switch off the phone then turn it on. Your youtube will work fine...

@vini, I did not spend a single bucks in the service centre. I made a false bill and a xerox copy of that bill because sometimes they ask for xerox copy of the bill. What they do is they check the phone IMEI code in their official website find out weather the phone ever got repaired in any service centre or not. If your phone never went to SE service centre do what I did. But I do do not think that will help you any ways, because their service centre are just for shows.

@vini, Signal problem can not be solved, its not a software issue. Its a hardware issue. Do not spend a single bucks in SE service centre. Let me tell you a incident, I went to SE service centre, a old man bought SE touch phone 6 months ago. The phone was giving trouble so he submitted the phone. After a week the man came to get the phone. The girl sit at the reception came with the phone and said the man that the phone's motherboard is dead and the cost of the phone is same to its motherboard so they will not do any things, she said go some where else and get the phone repaired. The man said that its in warranty period why the hell he will go some place else. They were telling stories. The man left with sad face. See, SE is a good phone but their service centre are worst, for that the company lost its reputation. I am a hard core fan of SE phones, but I hate their service centres.

ya true, this mobile have signal problem... I wrote 2 se support zone, they said me its a hardware problem, asked me 2 drop the phone near by service centre... I did it,after two days service centre gave me back the phone, u people will not believe what they did to the phone in the name of hardware problem. They just did master reset and gave me back.just wonder, that a kid can also do... Update would not fix the phone problem, there a update. You have to download that via se update manager software. I did it, the sound and camera quality got better, thats it...

this phone is good but have network related prob.do not anyone say that i got defective product or 2 do master reset bla bla bla. I tried every thing but except airtel and voda ph no network have stable signal. My 2 frnds they also own the same set and face same trouble. to update ur phone software go and download sony ericsson update manager... u will get the software in sony ericssion official website or softpedia.com install it in ur pc make sure ur pc have internet connection... then connect ur phone to pc via data cable... open the update manager software... it will do every work except u have 2 choose which phone u own, choose sony ericssion naiti j105... then the software will direct u.its will ask u 2 switch the phone off,take the battery,insert again...reconnect the phone with data cable... while reconnecting the data cable u have 2 keep pressing c key...this is the worst part,means many times i press c n insert the data cable its do not get connected...try again and again it will get connected...after it get connected do not turn on ur phone or do not disconnect the net or the phone from pc... it will do the work by its own... after u update the phone ur camera quality and sound quality will get better... if in ur pc u do not have internet then do it from a cyber cafe...

people who face hanging problem,do master reset... if that also do not works update ur software version...via pc n SE Update software manager... this phone have no issue except the place where u insert the head phone,charger or data cable jack... many times its do not detect the accessories because many people pull the jacks from the phone.its not the right ways... bend the jack downward its will get released from the phone by its own... else it will get damaged...

hey guys i have been using this magical phone since last 13 months! Trust me guys naite is a fabulous set! Eventhough my phone has been repaired 2 times by sony showroom due to charging problem but it does not have any software problem as those in nokia phones and i know this bcoz i have been using nokia earlier and i almost used 5 nokia phones and my last one was nokia 5130 which was the most troubling one! Just go for naite if u want a gud cell phone in range of rs 6000 bcoz se rocks! Best of luck guys:-)

This's the best phone EVER if you're smart! if you like high end phones and dont like to play and experiment much, go for something big but i really prefer this phone, i have this from almost 2 years now and NEVER needed to get it repaired! the only problem is the sound is too low but that is acceptable since this is a green heart phone. :)

it's vary simple.. 1. you have an internet connection 2. if you are using windows on your pc or laptop then connect your mobile with usb data cable naite mobile having pc suite software it runs automatically and then install it in your pc or laptop. 3. then reboot your system and then run pc suite... and then pc suite ask you to update this naite or not. if you want this.. then update your mobile with this...but one thing it requires internet connection during update naite..

@sam,this mobile never give any signal related trouble.until there r 2o many user using same network. Manually select ur phone network. Try some other sim,if still the same trouble.go 2 service centre. If ur warranty period is over,then clean the place where u insert ur sim card with some liquid cleaner,gently. Hope that will work.

Ya buddy i know what kind of connectiviity u were talking about...and i don't feel any kind of connectivity issue's with naite atleast. Se adopted 3.5 mm headset jack, because itz now available with all th handset's and is more usefull for connectivity with other music systems.

It must not be so. The 'gsm&3g' mode is infact a 'UMTS preferred' mode. It will be switched to 2g only if a 3G/HSPDA network is NOT AVAILABLE. Your phone shifting to 2g means the 3g network is interrupted temporarily. Otherwise it is a fault. If there is a '3g' only mode, the difference is that the data connection is broken when 3g is not available.

awesome phone... provides full value of money. i have droppped it on the floor many times but it still works...but one thing is a mess it either provrides dual mode or GSM only there is no such mode like 3g only so when it is on slower 3g networks it switches to GSM with dissapointing internet speeds on 2G network but hey!!! if you have better network experiance in ur area u should not bother any other phone in this price range... it provides better chat (conversation) through sms nice music player, radio everything... i get internet speed about 100 kbps through BSNL 2g sim in a 3G network. What else Do u wanna get in 6k

best phone I ever owned had it for 2 years although I recently just lost it. battery life lasts for 3 days. texting is really easy with t9 and the conversation feature. you can also customize ringtones. there is a micro sd card slot. dropped it many many times and it still works like new. screen resolution is really nice. very customizable and I love the operating system user friendly. great signal as well. only problem was speakerphone isn't that loud. but music that comes from the phone is loud. great phone over all I've been trying to look for a new replacement phone but I keep going back to this phone cause its so awesome. I think I'm gonna buy the same one again

Guys, i bought this phone December 2009, after a year I encountered problem with its charging of battery. Everytime I plug the unit (turned off) for charging, its charging status does not appear. If it is turned on for charging, the battery icon will have its charging symbol. But actually the battery does not charge even if it is plugged for more than 3 hours. I have been using the SE Naite for about a year now. The messages and contacts capacity is ok. I really find the conversations view of the SMS very helpful when I try to remember what the texter said about something. Of course there is also the Inbox view which I never use. The music player is awesome, well it is a Sony! The 2MP camera is great as long as there is ample available light. If not you can always have the night option. Still it would have been better if there is a flash. I'd say it is a very good camera phone with basic features and more. The built is also very simple yet sturdy as you can sense the first time you hold it (not so light that you tend to drop it). Unlike another brand of phone in the same price range which feels very plastic in your hands, this one feels very solid and well made. I bought my phone last year because my other phone (more popular) literally broke on me and it cost double than the Naite. So really I bought the Naite because the store had a sale and slashed about 50% off of its original price. I'm very very happy with my purchace. Now, I'm looking for a second phone with dual sim capacity. I'm browsing for a SE phone with the function I'm looking for. Too bad I can't seem to find it yet.

Excuse me for asking this; for using the computer internet in phone, you have to turn on the internet and computer also. Then you can browse internet in computer itself! Why using the phone? Because, I couldn't really understand your need.(I presume that you are not talking about browsing internet in computer using phone as a modem) . If you still want to do this, connect phone and computer using a genuine SE data cable, go to phone menu/settings/connectivity/usb/advanced/internet­ access..via computer(ethernet mode). The LAN connection in computer must be properly configured.

it says Naite supports 8gb memory card, but the reality is everytime I take a picture or video (memory storage is in memory card, not phone memory), it hangs. after few minutes the phone is unable to detect the memory card anymore. I need to pull the memory card off and put it on to read the memory card. same problem occurs when I'm moving/copying files from phone memory to memory card, installing java application on memory card, recording sound, sending files from memory card via bluetooth, receiving files via bluetooth to the memory card. I've using master reset and it still doesn't work. but, all these problems do not available when I'm using 4gb memory card. it really disappointing me since one of the reasons to buy this phone is able to support 8gb memory card.

You can share your approx position even if the GPS is off like i do in my W995i and same with others. Thats an another thing if Latitude is shipped only in those phones which are GPS enabled. But without GPS how will you join latitude? You have to sign up for latitude to keep your position updated with other friends in latitude. I replied so, since you mentioned latitude. Google maps can be downloaded even if it is not there. You can browse map, but to locate your position you need gps. The positioning system using mobile towers(used in naite and some other non-gps phones) is only approximate and not accurate always.

The charger port(fast port) is a headache not only to You but a lion's majority of SE users. It is the most common reason also for a SE phone being sent to the service center. Hope SE is not blind not to see these messages. Some of the new phones have micro usb ports. But they have to eliminate the fast ports completely. (Btw, sometimes the issue is not just of the port. Did you try restarting the phone and re-connecting the charger when this problem occur?)

I use this for about 8 months now and all is going well. Some of the problems are that my memory card stopped working frequently and i changed it.now running smoothly. the usb and charger port is a headache, because whenever i charge it i have to plug and unplug about 2 or three times to get it charging. And the when connecting to the computer using the usb its the same. i think something is wrong with the port. (thats only my review)

Its almost a great phone. But I ran to couple of problems with it. 1. At first it was in repairs 2 times in total 3 weeks fixing the noise in speaker problem (they didnt got it right in the 1st time). It got ok, on description was 1st time change of reciever or something and 2nd time main board repairs - it would probably have been cheaper for SE to just give a new phone. 2. The standby time is a joke, if the battery keeps its charge 1/4 of the promised it's already a good achievement. And there is no difference is 3G and bluetooth on or not. If the battery could just hold its charge couple of days longer I would really love it.

Good that you mentioned your country and network. Please note that 'vodafone live' doesn't give access to IMAP. You have to connect using 'vodafone mobile connect'. Vodafone live has limited access while the latter is a full featured internet profile. Menu-settings-connectivity-internet settings. Vodafone connect must be there. If not contact your operator. And still not getting, revert to me, I shall try to help with the settings. After changing profile, check e-mail again..

Couldn't understand your need clearly. Still, if you want to send a photo from your phone as message, to someone's e-mail address, it is simple. Select photo, options-send-as message-continue-enter the e-mail address... Done! 1. mms feature must be active in your sim. 2. If the photo is large, the phone will resize it to the mms limit.

But why don't you use the E-mail option in messages menu? It is more useful and you'll get alerts also for incoming mail, like sms. Just select the E-mail menu, enter the basic information and your credentials and allow the phone to download settings for you. It is very easy. try.

Bddy, I would strongly recommend u to delete some messages from u're handset,or if u can u may delete them all, because handset's internal memory is jst 100MB and if u may save more messages on u're handset, u may face hanging issue's, or if u want to save u're messages change the path of message's to memory card. And definately try master reset it won't delete any of u're data.

It is odd that your naite is slow, because Naite has a fast interface. Try one or more of the following; 1. Check phone memory. If it is nearly full, transfer some contents to mem card. Change sms and other media storage to memory card 2. Most common reason for hanging is a second grade memory card. If you are using the card that came with the pack, change it and use a branded one. I strongly recommend SANDISK microsd/microsdhc card, class 4 if possible. 3. Reinstall the software. Since you have the latest version, You cannot do it over air. Update using your computer. Download SE update service from the below link. If you are not familiar with it, follow the instructions properly and note that you have to press and hold 'c' key while connecting. Back your phone data- you can use 'My phone explorer' for this. (Search here for 'my phone explorer')Remove the memory card before updating, but You'll loose all sms and java apps, even if you save them in mem card. Good luck.

I bought a Naite 105i in Sept 2010. I have 3 problems: Why it takes so long to send a sms? The 'Conversation' application also takes very long to respond, esp when sending sms to different numbers and replying to different senders. The Facebook application does not log in even though my GPRS is working very fast when I use the in-built browser and the Opera Mini. How to solve this? Gmail app is also not working. Though this was a breeze in my earlier K530i. I have tried Software update. It said my phone has the latest ver. Will trying a Master Reset help? @ashu Where did u get HPM-88 headsets for 900 INR in pune. please tell me ! i want that headsets! and how about quality (specially Clear Bass & Clear Treble) against HPM - 77 (legendary Sony's InEar Headsets).

Hello guys. I've been using the phone for more or less 4 months. Here's what I can say to those taking a look at this phone. -It's generally a very great phone. Really. -Messaging, Organizer and so forth, works like a charm. No hiccups and no issues. Just useful and great. -Games apps, generally okay. It anyway is a java phone. No issues no more. Plenty as those like ones from nokia javas. -It could multitask and it's really helpful. The activity button works like a charm. I'd use an s40 before but now I know why gsmarena insisted on telling nokia to have it. It's like I could play music and at the same time reading the lyrics on the doc viewer I installed and at the same time have minimized games and apps. Really helpful for a feature phone. -Camera, lack of flash may spoil night pics, but It's not bad at all. It's camera's nice and really useful too, great quality, save for too much noise reduction which, like what gsmarena says to these kinds of processes, give an oil painting look to details of the pictures. Well at least they look nice without noise. -Music, great great quality, nice and clear. But for me, the earphones spoiled it all. Too low volume I can't hear anything on the roads. And after 3-4 months of usage left part's quite broken. Buy new earphones. You won't regret. No much problems with music. -Hmmm. No flash themes? Too bad. Quite sad, but i dunno. -Video playback, if you're quite concerned with it, it's really great. I convert my vids to qvga res in 24 fps. They play smoothly. ;) It's really useful for me. Youtube for the phone, was, too bad, buggy like hell. I really love youtube but too bad it was not much of a help to me. -Internet browsing- great too, but I don't prefer the pre-installed browser, use opera mini, uc browser, or bolt. The pre-installed one can't handle two or more tabs. 3g connection's fast, but everything relies on your network source. -Calling, uhh. For me, very satisfactory. -Battery, really great. I'm contented for 2-3 days charge life. -Google maps is nice too, i think, but i truly don't have any idea about mobile maps so it's it. -Image editing, photo DJ was quite disappointing it didn't have the pen/paint etc. features. -VideoDJ - extremely nice I'd waste hours to edit useless vids. It's really nice to have. -Radio, in case you care, is trouble free too. :) It's probably everything. I think. Don't hesitate to buy the phone if you're planning to. Very worth it. :)
