Panasonic SA7 - User Reviews

  • can i get used panasonic cell phone plz help me on this

  • All Panasonics from SA,VS 2 to MX,SA,VS 7 are days before yesterday. You can't buy eb-bs002 1620mAh now. Just forget about it.

  • of couse.. i also had the same problem with my vs6... all panasonic phones can only exchange less than 1MB of data via bluetooth and infrared...i think it can not be fixed..if anyone can fix this...please help me..

  • Hey does anyone know why when i try to retrieve something from bluetooth it always says 'sending failed pwease help'

  • Geeks! Panasonic will reenter the non-Japaneses market with 3G handsets in 2008. So keep waiting. (This rumour comes from their R&D centre in Thatcham, England, confirmed by a Panny marketing director.)

  • Does anybody knows if the signal strength of the SA7 is better of worse than VS3? Cause on VS3 is really bad :(

  • This is by far the best mobile I have ever used. I only have to charge it every second day apposed to twice a day like my Motorola V3x that I even got a higher complicity battery for! Dose any one know how to delete words for the T9 Dictionary on Panasonic's VS/SA/MX line of mobiles however?

  • panasonic, im patiently waiting for ur new line up of mobile phones powered by linux OS! my suggestion, make a lumix branded phone! dat wil b a great idea! of course, d lens should b at least CCD lumix branded or better yet leica with ur famous OIS! wow!

  • i have owned a panasonic SA7 for about 9 months now. has been the best phone i own. but rescently the rubber on the out side is tearing away and the screen is getting scratched on the phone its self. but al to gether is an excellent phone.

  • Always happy to help out a Panasonic owner, or potential Panasonic mobile owner (^_^) You will be able to order a SA7 from (this is where I got mine from) as they do ship to Bulgaria. You've got great taste in mobiles if you going for this one.

  • I got mine from WirelessGalaxy, but unfortunately Kenya is one of the very few places they don't ship to.

  • I would choose this over an Apple iPhone even! As I won't really use it for music or movies and the SA7 already has everything I want or need in a phone. 240 x 320 pixels QVGA resolution displaying 16 million colours at 2.5-inches, 2.0 megapixel camera, one push auto open, a talk time of up to 12 hours, the full version of Sonic pre-installed, and ultra reliability I can count on. I owned a VS7 before I got this one so already knew just how reliable it already is. In my opinion I have never found a line of mobiles as truly reliable. With some of these features in a much cheaper priced phone equalling and some even bettering the iPhone, you can see why I am so happy with my Panasonic mobiles. This phone is so much better than the more expensive Motorola V3x I owned. I mean I only ever charge this every second day apposed to my V3x I had to recharge multiple times throughout a day (I talk to my fiancee a lot whenever we are not together). The phone is the perfect size for me for maximum comfort. I am able to type faster on this phone than any other because of it and the button layout. It's incredible to think just how old this phone is now considering how good it is. To me this will always be THE phone. Panasonic mobile have been nothing but reliable, even after being left off for months, they still spring into life as if they were used just yesterday (had a Sony Ericsson that I hadn't used in ages that simply wouldn't turn on after that). The SA7 is quick, flashy, durable, has better photo quality than a V3x along with a lot of other 2.0 megapixel mobiles. It's also feature rich. Why get a SA7 when I already had a VS7? It's more durable, longer battery life, and slightly louder, all the key things that really count when it comes to a phone, and make a phone.

  • I WANT IT in Bulgaria (Europe) at a proper price!!! Still too expensive and rare to find.. Such a Shame!

  • great look, 16million clr, 2 mp camera,but there's no cardslot

  • P.S. I will keep updating in this phonw as I use it and test it more. So far, I haven't found anything wrong with it.

  • Thank you SP,for giving us price update. Well, I just bought this model and I must say: It's impressive! Comparing to old Panasonic phones that I used to have (those were like souvenir toys) this one is a REAL PHONE! Also to Serg: To me, this phone is too slim, LOL. It would be even better if it was 30mm thick and not 26mm (maybe then we would have 2000 mAh battery). NOW,ABOUT IMPROVEMENT COMPARING TO OLD TOYS: SA7 Pros: -Much better menu interface comparing to Panasonic's phones before: -Screan is just fantastic and colors are similar to the screan on my new Panasonic FX50 Camera (only the pixel resolution is lower) -Great Polyphony sound -Great batterry performance 8 hr of talk time in one day ( I have alot of minutes in my plan, so I test the batterry by calling one free chatline # and letting my phone run through it without holding it) -Design is amazing and feels very strong and stylish -Bluetooth works perfect for conversations, and that's all I need to use it for!

  • THE SECOND CELL. PHONE KING OF ALL TIMES! This is a trully fantastic phone, after the famous Nokia 6310i! I'm really surprised to see that such a beautiful phone with incredible design, great batterry life, bluetooth, 2mp camera, and 16m colors, would have demand only in asian countries. Shame on!-Americans Shame on1-Europeans GROW UP!! Thick and large (normal) phones will become very popular soon, after the slim mania created by American Motorola will die!

  • PRICE UPDATE: $215 at htpp://www.mobilebee.com (they ship from New York).

  • I just found the best pics of this phone on this Russian link: You will be really impressed with how handsome and durable this Sporty and Men-Designed phone is!

  • does this phone work with tmobile and the whole sims cards thing?

  • To all kids who complain about the phone's size and weight, I have a few simple questions: 1) Did you know that the size and weight of this phone is due to its great 1600mah batterry capacity? 2) Did you know that when color screan is 262k or more colors and your batterry size is standard 800mah, talking constantly through bluetooth will drain your batterry in less than two days? 3)And finally, did you know that Nokia, Sony, Samsung and other brands always greatly exagurate STANDBY TIME in the phone specs ( 262k screans with 700-800 mah battery lasts 10-15 days????? TOTAL B.S., less than two days if talk on the phone 30-45 min per day and don't shut down your phone at night). WELL, IF YOU KNEW ALL OF THAT then what the F...C are you bitching ablout great size of new Panasonic phones?

  • PRICE UPDATE: Now only $222 at

  • I really want it .

  • anyone help, i can't get it to connect to my PC via USB, error message is bad init.nvr - not supported by software version. in the extracted folder I can't see the Drivers folder to run manually, please help as i need to transfer pics to my PC urgently. cheers

  • I rely like the phone exept i didn't have the chance to play with it...i only saw SA6 and it was gr8.battery is fantastic, and the camera good + the big 16 million colors display.but it lacks the interior design, meaning buttons are small. and not very well placed...the exterior is realy sporty and nice.i hope i'll see SA7 in Romania soon.

  • update re Panasonic using Linux OS! this is another sign of new and improved phones to come from panasonic in d coming year or perhaps this year..

  • PRICE UPDATE! $250 at Same price goes for MX7 and VS7 models! The lowest price 2mp phones on the market!!!!! Go Panasonic! Bring the overpriced Nokia and Samsung Junk down!

  • QUESTION: -Does PanasonicSA7 model have the same amazingly beautiful and lound "Yamaha Polyphonic chip as mine X300 does? Anyone who has Panasonic SA7 please let me know A.S.A.P.

  • Panasonic have not quited mobile business. It will simply no longer manufacture GSM phones and will concentrate on UMTS ONLY!!! PANASONIC=IDEAS FOR LIFE!

  • Unfortunately Panasonic had a big surprise- they quited mobile phone business few monts ago. The SA7 looks great , indeed. It's a shame it is not reachable in most ot Europe.

  • Guys, this is an amazing phone, so stop bitching here about an sd slot. I've been using this phone on american T-Mobile for the last two weeks and here is my first impression: PROS: -Excellent well-built sporty men's design -Reception is not worser than on my old Nokia phone -Amazing sound quality (loud, clear, smooth) -Excellent quality polyphonic ringers -Great batterry life (1600 mah! + Panasonic's low power consumption!) CONS: Menu interface could be improved to match Nokia or Samsung, but that's not a big issue! As someone earlier has manetioned, this is not a camera, but a high quality phone with 2mp chip added at no extra cost! ($315 with express shipping at www.starlinwireless.com)

  • TO GEO and TO THE REST 3RD GRADE BOYS: When will you stop bitching about SD CARD? As someone has mentioned earlier this is not a camera!!!! This is simply a HIGH QUALITY PHONE with added 2mp sensor at no extra cost!!! WELL YOU LIKE SD CARD? Then go buy Garbage Sony or Nokia phones for $500-$700! That price alone is worth of SD CARD SLOT. Isn't it?

  • I think it could be an excelent phone but it has no expansion slot for memory and that tracks him down!

  • Panasonic is very quiet recently which means we are up for a big surprise from the worlsd's leader in electronics by the end of this year or earlier next year! While other brands, icluding my favorite Nokia keep pumping non-sense new and new models, Panasonic is working very hard to produce digital Camera/Phones that will give us as perfect photo quality as famour Panasonic/Leica digital cameras!

  • The buttons on this phone are very annoying and get jammed all the time... and plus they are quiet small! I regret buying this phone also because i find the quality of picture not as good as what it was reviewed to have been. Still, its Text messagering system is the best on any phone i have used.

  • Because this is a phone, not a digital camera-Duh!

  • why don't any panasonic phones have memory card slots?

  • yes sony and panasonic are the best in thire technologies, no one beat them

  • TO G: Thank you for your support and mature review. 1)Great design 2)Long lasting battery life 3)Good ringing quality and sound quality 4)High quality 2 megapixel sensor. WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED FROM THE PHONE?- YOU 6TH GRADE CRITICS?

  • it's me again, having the phone for 1 month now i'm really satisfied with it. and the battery lasts for 9-10 days with average 40mins talk daily + SMS.

  • I just received this phone two days ago and based on my short experience here is my review. This is my first Panasonic phone and I have to admit, that it is even more better than Nokia in quality. PROS: -Amazingly clean, loud and smooth sound quality -High quality polyphonic/mp3 ringers -good battery life -loud ringers -amazing screen and good reception

  • It is cool.

  • And bytheway, in this case SA7 phone by Panasonic seems the most reasonable in terms of pricing -only $300. So why are you folks complaining about SA7? SA7 is not a digital camera. It's a high quality phone with some digital camera's features added at no extra cost, comparing to overpriced Sony, Nokia and Sharp phones. You want a camera? than buy Panasonic's or Canon's real cameras!

  • To Mike: Hey dude. Did you also see another amazing new Lumix/Panasonic camera-FX01 (an upgrade to your FX9)? FX01 is almost identical to FX9 except that it features: -New wider angle lens -And boosts new ISO setting up to 1600! (with lower resolution of course when between 800-1600, but stil very perfect to prevent moving objects from getting blurred) It is already available at B&H store in New York! For only $300! Now compare that to rediculous Nokia N90 $600-$700! Or to rediculous Sony Ericsson k750 $400!

  • hi, I bought the SA7 about 3 weeks ago now and I'm REALLY happy with it, it only lacks the SD card feature, but appart that it's really good and solid, nothing to negate about. I had a GD-87 previously. the camera quality is very good IMO for a cell phone. check out this pic i took with it (resized a bit tho, coz it's 1600x1200 original) I bought it at Plemix via ebay and service was great.

  • we're planning to buy this one within the week.can someone tell me if it can receive a.txt file from a computer thru bluetooth and then convert it to sms???pls someone tell me.tnx in advance!!!:)

  • TO VIPERKID: I looked at TZ1, and I agree, that is one amazing Panasonic's new camera ( only 4cm thick and with amazing 10x zoom!) ABOUT SONY CAMERAS: I spoke to three friends of mine, and none of them is satisfied with their Sony cameras. (Panasonic and Nikon are the best today).I just wish Nikon had same screen quality and Optical Stabilization as Panasonic does. ABOUT CAMERA PHONES: Based on the tendencies that developed last yyear, in my opinion the first mobile phone brands that will incorporate professional poin-shoot compact digital cameras within the phone will be either Panasonic and Sharp w(but more likely that Panasonic will itroduce the prof. camera/phone before the Sharp does, since Sharp doesn't specialise on regular digital cameras).

  • mike: nice to hear from u too that u also own a panasonic digicam (actually for me, its definitely better than sony cybershots..) btw in case ur not aware, panasonic TZ1 is already announced and i can't help but to look at its excellent features everytime its definitely my next target to buy (i'm gonna sell my LX1 for better except for manual controls) it has 10x optical zoom! ISO is up to 800 (if im not mistakin even higher) and hear this it will cost $350 only compared to LX1's price! back to phones, i just hope that "P901iTV" also becomes available outside of Japan so we can enjoy analog TV broadcasts (which means FREE local TV watching)!

  • TO HUNTER: Please stop the B.S.!! If you need a card slot, then buy a digital camera! How many photos per day are you going to take with a camera that only has a tiny 2mp sensor and nothing else? 10-15 photos is enough!

  • this is crap...Panasonic put a 2mpx camera and a 16m display and NO MEMORY CARD!!!!!!!UH OH this is very unprofessional for you Panasonic.Whit a card reader incorporated, this phone had been maybe the best phone on the market.

  • TO VIPERKID: I'm glad to hear to you got Panasonic's LX1 camera (one of the best cameras for the last six month). I will probably upgrade my FX9 for LX1, since LX1 has more professional features. But other than that FX9 take the same brilliant photos without flash in an artifical semi-lighting conditions (just like LX1 does). TELL THISE KIDS on this forum they want a real digital camera, to stop throughing their money on overpriced SONY, NOKIA and SUMSUNG (megapixel, card slot, LOL) junk phones, and get PANASONIC'S FX9 or LX1 digital camera!!! PANASONIC! IDEAS FOR LIFE!

  • OH, FORGOT ONE LITTLE THING: I just found out today, that the reason why new Panasonic phones (at least my x300 for sure) have the most amazing POLYPHONIC sound ringers, is because PANASONIC uses YAMAHOO PLOLYPHONIC CHIP!

  • TO MOTOROLA MAN: Thank you so much for defending PANASONIC'S NAME. How is the earpiece sound on SA7? Is is similar to x300 or is it very thin and in noicy environment almost impossible to hear (that's according to MOBILEBURN.COM reviews of SA7, VS7, AND VS2 models). It's hard to believe what MOBILEBURN SAYS- AGAIN BASED ON MY EXP WITH X300! x300 earpiece sound quality is the most amazing I ever heard (even better than on old Nokia phones). X300 earpiece sound is very bassy, loud and at the same time amazingly clean! (no distortion at all when on full volume). IN ONE WORD: The most pleasing earpiece sound!

  • to Roy Brown,id recommend Z800,the panasonic has a outstanding screen but... for the same price, the z800 is 200 some k of color(also great compared to most being 65k)and a memory stick can go in the z800 unlike the panasonic sa7,both priced around 300 and under, and as for the best place to get good prices, ebay.my choice would be the sony, but its up to you.hope this helped

  • to mike, ive never owned a x300 panasonic but i do own the SA7 which was purchased off ebay about a month ago.The sound on it is great,I can hear from my pocket or if its in an other room.I owned the motorola A1000 and its a pda/phone and let me tell you,its LOUD!,and the panasonic was as loud as it,so dont let them fool you!the sound quality is excellent, no B.S.

  • hi, does anyone know if this phone comes with flash or without, coz that is a must for my future cellphone

  • Mike: I agree with you, my only point there was SA, MX & VS series could have definitely better sales if a memory slot was made available cuz in my opinion generation of today needs that mem slot so u can save lots of music files, games, etc.. but i know for a fact panasonic has great "real" phone features like assigning msg alert tones to a contact not only in ringing alert, and intuitive and easy to use menu plus much more, unlike with Sony Ericsson phones which wants to act like a "phone" but priority is multimedia features e.g. auto-focus et al.. btw, i have panasonic LX1 and it can do d auto-focusing, flash, image stabilization, record and play 16:9 Aspect: 848 x 480 pixels @ 30 fps of video plus much more! : )

  • STOP BITCHING ABOUT SD SLOT! There is absolutely no need for SD SLOT in this phone. This is a phone, and Panasonic does not claim it to be a digital camera. Bytheway, NO SD SLOT, also means lower phone price! (only $300 at www.starlinwireles.com) WANT AN SD SLOT? Then, buy Panasonic's revolutionary 2005-2006 digital cameras (FX9 and LX1 models). I OWN FX9 which is a trully brilliant, for it takes brilliant natural color photos without FLASH!!!!!! (Thanks to Panasonic's O.I.S. -Optical Image Stabilization) EVEN Nikon 7900 cannot take clear images in poor lighting without a flash!!!! NOTE: I will post photos taken by FX9 with flash turned off, here soon, so all of you kids here can see what a real digital camera is. Perhaps, then you will stop wasting your money on Nokis N90 , Sony 800, 900 , and other overpriced CRAP!!!!

  • this could have better sales if it had mini SD slot and auto focus function on camera! i know panasonic can do it, i just dont know y dey didn't! Panasonic P505iS has memory expansion slot and was available way back last Nov 2003, and as far as i know it's the first mobile phone to have auto-focus function not to mention it has CCD sensor! mind you it has QVGA display already even way back then, so i don't really see d point y panasonic has sorted to come up with the V, SA & MX series that does not have an expansion for memory. here's the link. bad news (well at least for panasonic fans) for the time being but in the very near future (i hope this year) panasonic mobile will be much better! please see below.. panasonic has closed a number of their major plants that manufactures (2.5 G) GSM mobile handsets around the world and going forward to reorganized overseas mobile operations and concentrate mainly on 3G handsets with Linux based OS! as a result, (if i remember correctly) soon they will not be a series60 licensee anymore, meaning they may no longer make handsets based on symbian OS like the excellently designed X700 in the future.. reasons said were due to severe global competition. here's the full story: some more about panasonic using linux OS:

  • CAN SOMEONE who trully owns this phone DEFEND its Sound and ringing Quality? I Don't believe B.S. Hater reviews that claim SA7's sound quality is bad and the ringer volume is low!!!! How is it possible that SA7 Sound and ringing quality is worser than of Panasonic x300?! I have Panasonic x300 (look at that tiny phone carefuly), and the ringer volume is the highest of all cell phones (except for monophonic Nokia 3310/3390!). Also, the polyphonic quality of x300 is the most beautiful and it has very beautiful melodies, and it sounds like true MP3! So how is it possible that SA7 Sound and ringing quality is worser than of x300?! PLEASE, STAND UP AND DEFEND SA7! ANYONE?

  • Is the thick and heavy construction of this phone only for the sake of longer battery life and "sporty" looks, or is it really more durable and robust than s7 (doesn't break that easily, basically.)?

  • not bab, could be better

  • TO EIKE: How did u exactly calculate that 30 2MP pictures are about 3MB???????? Thay are about 10-18 MB

  • i would be a smartphone if it would have OS,and as you can see it doesn't have OS.

  • I think it's smart phone. Desing is good. Battery is perfect. Camera is good but it could be CCD lens Not CMOS. It hasn't came our country and I hope it's price wouldn't be expensive. and What is symbian ??? :)

  • uhmmm...about the battery... though the talk time estimated 4 hours, mobile phone rates are far from cheap... i prefer using CDMA technology, talk till you dry your mouth... just curious, when panasonic will make CDMA phone with such features? hope it won't be too long. so far i know, the countries have CDMA system are: -China (leader and inventor) -Japan -S.Korea -India -Vietnam -indonesia -australia -new zealand -USA anyone can add up?

  • 16M color is perfect... one handed operation is okay too... the cons: -No memory slot -No radio

  • very good phone that this phone water proof??

  • TO JULIAN: There is no need for MiniSD card. With 2mp resolution you can store at least 30 photos on 3mb internal memory! To store 30 photos is enough for the phone which doesn't serve to replace a basic digital camera. PANASONIC SA7 PROS: -The largest and the clearest color screen of all cellular phones (except Xcute phones) -The strongest batterry capacity of all cellular phones -The best sound quality of all cellular phones -The best ring tone quality of all cellular phones. WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED? P.S. I don't care if the MP3 player on Panasonic's phones is not of Sony Ericsson's quality. MP3 player is a total waste of time, especially on a cellular phone! Digital camera or camcorder is more needed for a cellular phone!

  • Someone plz tell me where can i get this phone!!!! PLZ PLZ PLZ. I NEED IT NOW!!! damit, i need miracle to happend ...damn panasonic they already selling vs7 and still no sa7???????? i hate them. i want it really bad now....can't wait...lol

  • i will never understand in a million years why panasonic decided not to have the midi sd card slot after all. it is so lamebrained. 32mb is not enough, plainly speaking. i was waiting for this model (or the MX7) since it was announced way back and now i am devastated. those people at panasonic are crazy.

  • not $600 dollars great. ROFL

  • has this got a video player?

  • Great phone...Great resolution....and great camera Must buy it !

  • tiz phone is terribly nice! is this a 3G fone? wonder how expensive would it be. hmms.. when will it be out in singapore.. i terrible wan to change my phone and i don feel like waiting anymore. but afriad this phone will launch soon

  • does anyone from europe got this phone??how many euros does it costs?thanx

  • Hi! Is it a 3G phone? 2,5 inches diagonal screen: is it true? Dimensions and weight? No radio? No edge? Tq

  • ............................

  • i really like this phone why? the style and also the features is almost perfect it's style is sporty-look isn't?

  • yep..this phone has 3 main functions..mp3,video and photo taking..its picture quality n video will be superb..!! esp with 16 m colours ..well ..its mp3 should be good too..this phone is a simple phone with quite few but important features....so it should be not too ex..yea panasonic is smart!! i love its simplity..(its design rocks too)

  • TFT, 16M colors amazing from panasonic but i do know most of this phone's ure rare to come by and use in the uk unless you can get the code off to work on gsm english networks then you have a super phone LOL

  • i prefere MX7

  • if it's 2megapixel..im guessing it should be a CCD. then again, u wouldn't know..

  • what is the symbian... I really don't is that, but nobody wonna tell me... Please tell me what is symbian

  • What kind of camera has this phone? CCD or CMOS?

  • I really hope that this phone is at least symbian. If not,its not so worth buying

  • 16 mill colours is prety amasing, im considering this fone or the SE k750. 2 that dude that didnt leave a name, askn if he saw the fone.... well u could of, but i dont no how wen it hasnt evn been anounced yet.....2 my conclusion...this is a mad fone, howeva im scared abt the dimensions of the fone, its looks well ova 10cm high. but hey whonows exactly... neways l8rz all

  • Unbelievable, 16milloin colours the most ive seen so faron a mobile fone. Hope it don't diappoint.

  • on this weeks gadget show they went into an orange shop and these phones were on the shelf.this was a british store?? am i seeing right??

  • interesting...buts its gona be Very Heavy...check out the battery...1660 Mah... Lets see if panasonic can finally do something right...hopefully will be good

  • more like digital camera to me but still fine phone.

  • hey, where are they going to sell this fone? i got to have 1... it's seriously cool =P... and what about the price??? i reckon 400 euro/500 dollar...

  • I totally love this fone!! BUT i wish it would come out earlier... Ummm.. 16M is like 16 bits of colour almost true colour.. MAN.. This fone rox.. i luv the resolution also... And the design is cool too.. I luve this fone.. i'm gonna buy it when it comes out.. TOTALLY!!

  • 16 million colours

  • whats is 16m colour? i see this phone is aim for digital camera only
