Panasonic VS6 - User Reviews

  • no, this is not bluetooth, but this is simple general phone

  • Yes

  • Music

  • I think panasonics phones are very poors in comparation wiht others strongs companys

  • is it bluetooth? the vs6

  • BLUE TOOTH!!!! cable and software (panasonic) not required just get your blue tooth talking to your phone. This is my fifth panasonic phone and they give me no trouble. Infact I had just decided that if there was an update to this one I'm going to get it. It takes fantastic quality photo for a 2mp it runs rings around the competition. as well as being very compact without making the buttons too small. Excellent phone and I have had it for over a year and the V3 before that.

  • hi, PC SUITE is the solution for the data transfering from CP to PC using data cable.

  • hi, maybe the problem of your VS6 is software corrupted. possible cause over charging or wet.

  • hi, based on my experienced that I have encounter maybe the problem of your VS6 phone is busted speaker or software problem.

  • Thanks Rawress, I did adjust the incoming volume and still nothing happens.

  • There are some sounds that work & some doesnt..Use the Beep sound..It worked for me..! & adjust the incoming volume..

  • I have a panasonic VS6 and somehow I cannot get it to ring, all it does is vibrates. I gne into Settings, Sound & Alerts. Can someone tell me how to get my phone to ring

  • Can i use VS6 for roaming in Japan?

  • Iv just started using this phone..Simply Nice ..Good Battery life..But How do I transfer Pics from Phone to PC...I tried connecting it..it doesnt connect! Whats the Solution!!????

  • I've been using the Panasonic VS6 for almost 2 years and have been very happy with its. Good battery life even when used heavily, 2MP camera gives good pictures, software on the PC fairly easy to use. But unfortunately, despite all the care & precautions I took, the phone died from low batt last week and refused to charge. It's currently with Panasonic for repair but it seems that the only solution to get it working again is to replace the main board - this will cost almost as much as buying a brand new unit. The technician couldn't give me a reason for this occurrence because my battery is still perfectly fine and the phone has never been dropped or left in high temperatures.

  • Hey I am also having this problem. the phone shows in connection progress, but somehow, the 2 are unable to connect, so I change to using bluetooth instead. Unless U are very oppose to the idea of bluetooth, there is no solution. I had attempt a few times and abort the cable totally

  • Hi I am using this phone for NEAR to 3 yrs. Also not much problem with this phone, except sometimes when I text msg, the phone will shutdown. This problem was highlight to me by my sis as a signal that the phone is DYING!!!! (she was a user of 2 previous panasonic phone) I was ok with this phone not able to play MP3 as there isnt any below 1MB unless u just want the chorus..kekekekekekekeke as I had a mp3 player. But till now I am still looking for another phone to replace. STILL LOOKING... but seriously considering the SE W960. But too bad it din have the push to open bar...kekekekekekeke And not able to write chinese as I did not know how to use the Taiwanese pronouncation. But still this is alright to me. (I am a easily satisfied user) Any recommendation? I did not know how much longer can my phone last me, the data cable din work anymore like 2 months ago, but i can still transfer data thru bluetooth. the batt can still last me a decent 2 days on standby even after so long. I love this phone. Heard rumors abt Panasonic may release new model in 2008, but till now still no confirmation!!! haiz... anyway, I had a weakness for clam phone.

  • I've used this phone for a second year now. It is by far the best phone I've ever used and seen. Everything works perfectly. I continue to look for a better phone on the market, something to replace it and there still isn't something that can match it.

  • My PC operating system is Windows Vista. Even though USB handset manager was installed successfully phone does not connect with the PC. What is the solution for this?

  • both my wife and i have a vs6 but i cannot find were to get a new battery ,please help

  • Answer on some question and problem 1. battery life is really 3 day or more. -> inflated/ deformed battery is already NO GOOD, u need to replaced it before it damage the phone. 2. Transferring more than 1 MB is not possible thru BT or IR, you could use Data Cable 3. Cannot be heard on other line is caused by NG Mic - Suggestion - use headset Can be "hotblow by tech" but not advisable, Major Part have some adhessive that when heat is applied will meld and cound damage the phone. Need expert in doing so.

  • I have this phone now for years and I love it! But I can't put the pictures on the laptop with Vista... Where can I find an update or somethnig for vista?

  • Bought Panasonic VS6 near 2 years ago to replace Philips Diga when 02 switched off the cheap text tariff. Already used excellent wee Panasonic before and took advantage of positive comments and opinions posted about the screen and camera. Maybe I don't use all its features but I cannot fault it at all. Recently I went on holiday forgetting charger so put sim in borrowed latest Sony Ericsson. No comparison. What a pleasure to get back to using this simple to operate, big screened gem. Super flip, easy buttons and don't see many others.

  • Please find out...i have VS6 and would like to change the casing.....!!! Any sugest...

  • i have it nearly two years and i have changed battery beacause it was inflated,i can't receive files over 1Mb,battery lasts nearly a day without the light on keypad and when i try to call/message sb or vive versa,it turns off.i'm so disappointed..

  • I've had this phone for ages, its still in perfect condition and nothing has gone wrong yet. It must be nearly 2 years, and although the vid playback is a bit off, the battery life for me is excellent

  • I got this phone and had meny problems with it such as it only has about 3 days battrey life, the video playback is very poor, you cant send or receave files over 1mb by bluetooth on it, the battrey burns out after a year, the keypad is to hard to use and it cant record videos for more than 67 seconds. Other then that its a great phone. I would give it a 7/10.

  • I totally disagree with James, i have had this phone for ages and i love it, 1/2 the things he sed were complete rubbish ...

  • THIS PHONE is good but the video playback is very fuzzy ,it cant recieve some music via bluetooth but i thinh i'd give it 7/10

  • My ringtones are veri quiet. battery life 3 days. cheers from Bulgaria

  • Reguarding ur problem with calls going straight to voicemail? I have the exact same problem but with a different phone...Are u with T-mobile by any chance? Not just myself but also my friends who r with T-mobile have this problem and have done for years through several phones. If your not with T-mobile then I have no idea but its definately not the phone as it is a network problem so check reviews on ur actual network rather than phone. Hope I have helped. Laura.xXx.

  • i've been usin vs6 for 1.5yrs. check your diverts disable them.

  • hey there i have just brought me a vs6 phone and cant seem to change wap profiles to VFNZ PXT as i live in New Zealand could some one please contact me and tell me what to do..

  • simple. go to a panasonic store/assistence and update the firmware. it's free. cheers, jc

  • I'm just wondering if anyone ever get the problem that sometimes when you dial out, it ends your call right away?? Also couple of my friends tell me that when they call me, it goes straight to the voicemail when I know my phone was still on and has reception. Anyone know whats with that??

  • i forgot: previous comment said "scratches on top of shell". yes, it's bad i agree. it's the only thing i don't like in the phone and i forgot to mention. the problem is it's engineering design, not the way we open the shell. jc

  • i have one of this VS6 bought on phonehouse (portugal) and a couple months ago the battery start to grow in bulk (kind of overinflated itself). the store don't give me a new battery. they say the batteries has only 6 months guarantee. it's very annoying this fight. i'll never buy phones at phonehouse! strictly about the phone: it's very good, the menus, as opposite as someone said here, are very simple, well organized and fast. cheers, jc

  • You know,i bought this phone for new year...i thought...low price, good design, good camera, all that stands...but generally this Panasonic sucks, soon i realized that Panasonic didnt lose their costumers because of nothing...Tehnicaly phone great, probably best screen on market...BUT,software is shitty, speaker silent, scratches on top of shell,NO features,no card,no support for this phone...they putted it on market without a single $ invested in it...if they upgraded software, and i mean seriously upgrade, include a card slot...that would be a fantastic phone...now,rest in peace VS6

  • I had the misfortune of getting this with my birthday money yes it has all that stuff above but it dose not tell u the bad points 1 .cannot send or receive any thing over a 1 mb so no songs or music 2 .very very quiet speaker so you would have to bee in some where very quite 3 .the battery life is terrible about1.5 days max 4 .buttons are too small in the middle so you press the wrong buttons all the time 5 .rubbish design - it has a button which flips it up and can open its self in your pocket which turns the screen on and lowers the battery life 6 .you can only get the most basic games on it and you have to downlode them which costs loads 7 .even though it has a 2.2 inch 6,000,000 color screen the video sises is about 2 cm achross 8 .the providers (e.g 02)contacts come before yours do in the phone book and if you delete them they come back 9 .the blue tooth on it only stays visable for 5 mins at a time which is annoying 10 . the price i bought this phone for 90 now one of the best phones ever the sony erricson k750i has come out fore cheaper 11 .it can only video for a 1 minute and the quality is terrible and dotty it seems like it is only 0.5 megapixles so the only good things i would say about this phone is the amassing screen and camera if i was gonna buy a new phone it would not be this one so dont buy one because you will regret it forever! james

  • Ive had the panasonic vs6 for about a year now and i have lost the battery cover on the back! Also now when i type messages the screen stuffs up and goes white! to fix it i have to shut the phone and open it again! Really annoying! Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it??? Please email me or reply! Thanks

  • i have had this phone for two years. It is now a bit dated and i am looking to update my handset however, this handset has been great. The vs6 has been very reliable for me . i have had nokia's and sharp phones but nothing was as reliable as the vs6. If panasonic still made up to date handsets, i would seriously consider upgrading to one of them. The only disadvantage with pana is tha it is harder to find accesories for the phone but i managed to get a usb cable. Great phone and i will miss its reliability when i upgrade

  • its nice but lack of features compair to other mobile phones

  • Panasonic is a good product in every of my friends likes i too in which is almost my product in my house.I will very much happy if ican get one to replace the old one am holding.Think Panasonic always.

  • the only problem i have had with this phone is that the speaker broke :( pretty gay but easy fixed....

  • has anybody run into problems using this phone with cingular? i got it yesterday and charged it but it died fairly quickly this afternoon... i dunno if it's a setting i'm using or what. bluetooth isn't on. hopefully it'll last longer after another charge. =\

  • does it have flash function on the camera?

  • Phonebook space: 500 on the phone, and an extra 200 on the sim (dependant). Battery life lasts at least a week, nut listening to music on it will really use up the battery. But overall a brilliant phone! Very durable, I've had mine a year and dropped it many times, only a few scratches on the shoddy paintwork! Speaker could do with being a tiny bit louder, because sometimes I can't hear it when it rings!

  • what about the battery ??? is it ok ??? does it last long enough? for example 5-6 days.

  • can anybody tell me the phonebook capacity, i didn-t found any info for the capacity even on official page thanx

  • Just got this one as a secondary headset. I already have a Moto L7 (which I truly adore) and I needed something to talk with. As I was borred from my old 1100, I got this one. So my impression is that this is a good phone if you don't expect much. I have a phone to handle with the tough stuff. Receptions quality is average, could not match the moto but is rather good infact. The Ringing volume is quite quiet and the menu is somehow poor and complex, but almost everything is there. I found that phone to have the most complex settings compared to all other I have used (siemens, nokia and four motos). The camera is good enough, buttons are comfortable, the screen is sharp, but won't give you the 16M colours impression (only JPG and Videos show in 16M, all other media are shown in 65k!). Has sharp performance but I had some bad experience with JAVA apps. For that price it is great I think if you look for something to talk with and to capture pictures.

  • How to disable the pictures when i open internet page on my browser on VS6? Becouse i dont like to open them or tell me how to put another browser like OPERA or something please tell me and thanks

  • Can someone upload a picture taken with it, and maybe a video during daylight? :)

  • Anyone know how i can connect this to pc? I got a cable but it just won't find it, and i need to 'check sever settings' for sync. Help?

  • The best overall cell phone I've ever used/owned, hands down. I've had it for over a year and I'm still excited about it. mine is getting a little old and worn, so next I'll get a VS7 for the external screen, but the same function I've become very fond of. Nothing overly fancy, trendy, or techy, but overall a great phone. Better then all the new "latest and gratest" tech gadget phones that come out and suck at everything they do.

  • And i hav this phone . My problems are sam . And one more . On my phone cant send me song bigger than 1 MB . That is stupid.

  • how do you receive mms? when someone sends a pic, i'ts always reads failed. does anyone knows how? pls help me....

  • I've had my phone for a few weeks on vodaphone network but the wap constantly fails and cant get mms..can anyone help?

  • the mp3 only allow not more den 3 min. if it can then i think that's better. the color is sharp. screen is big. and design is quite nice.

  • please can someone tell me where can i find some softwere for my vs6 thank you

  • how do you receive mms, when someone sends a pic, i'ts always reads faild.

  • one of the best handies! easy in use, long life battary!!!

  • I've had this phone for about 8 months and it was ok. Reception on it wasn't as good as I would've hoped because it is a tri-band and I am from Canada. However the best feature of the phone would have been the camera and the display settings. Nice colour and a 2.0 MP camera =) Didn't like the casing...Had an all black casing and looked like plastic too. Other than that it was a pretty nice phone!

  • nick yes

  • can this phone send and recieve audio ringtones with bluetooth? not from the computer, from another phone please help

  • i find it quite good actually. hve had it for close to half a yr now. although more memory should be provided to at least allow one whole song to be input. but hey, if i had wnated more memory i would have gotten a phone with an expandable memory ryt.. (:

  • i dont like it. the sms always gets stuck. and its music memory is like really low.

  • i also hav problems on d bluetooth device which cannot send audio files. bt u cn send pics by pairing 2 d device n den send it.

  • can you get new back covers for this handset??????

  • yeah god phone and not so expensive, but i also got a problems with transfer via BlueTooth The fotos are like from Dcam

  • i can't transfer photos and videos to computer by bluetooth device. why? with sony erricsson everything is okay , and on panasonic it won't support file transfer service

  • fine phone! i'll get it! can anyone tell me what's the resolution of video recording?? thanks for answering!

  • To answer how to check the SW version of VS6 1. Power off the phone. 2. Power on the phone. 3. Type " *#9999#" should be within 10 second The latest version for VS6 is VS6_VQ26. kng my tanung/problem pa kau... ([email protected]) Just want to help..... he he he

  • this phone is so great! great looks and very slim and light-weight. i like it so much. this is so complete. plays mp3. i can even download applications from the net. yeah, i know the scratch on the top problem. but still it's a great phone anyway.

  • I bought this phone 2 months ago, and found its screen resolution superb along with camera which give me hard times on occasions. Its real bad thing is lack of ability to play mp3 downloaded from pc. And second its top flap is flimsy, and awkward. If economy and style are the preference then it is the choice!!!

  • hello everybody! how can we check our firmware version? yes, mine has the same problem with the scratches...looks like everyone has =\ cheers [ ]

  • To John: I also have scratches on the phone and this happens every time you open and close the phone. This might be a little construction fault but it's still a great phone, even with the little scratches on it.

  • is there any new firmware for this phone?

  • what do i need to do to send files bigger than 1mb to my vs6? lpease e-mail me or write here at the forum

  • Hi i like this telefon but i want to know can i put it extendet memory i the USB. Tell mi on Mail. Tenks!

  • The Panasonic VS2 has a good interface, the nice text. Does the VS6 use the same fonts and user interface? I hate fat ugly font like Nokias used to have. Please email me [email protected] thanks!!!

  • I have a Blue Soleil dongle which locates and transfers all files and photos from my husbands Samsung. When I plug in the VS6, it will locate the phone, but it will only send the business card, I cant get it to let me transfer files. I have checked the phones visibility and Bluetooth is on, but still no joy. We have now bought a usb cable & downloaded the Panasonic phone manager from their site, but even that says trying to locate phone. How do you transfer your files, I just want to save some photos!

  • Does anyone have a problem with the MMS? Because when i try to send a MMS it give a mistake error....Even when the MMS profile is all set up....

  • Just got a Vs6 from Carphone Warehouse in the UK.There is a permanent CW wap site you have to go through to get to network wap?!However Orange World won't show graphics+missing text links, but CW site looks fine?!Orange officially sell Vs6,it must work?I'm confused.

  • I've had this phone for about 4 months now and i've realised there's all these scratch marks on the top part, near the camera. I'ts the part that where you flip it and it goes in. I take lots of care with the phone, i've never left it out or put it anywhere it could get scratched so i have a feeling that evertime i'm flippin it, it's scratching. Could someone please tell me if they've gotten those scratches too and how it could be fixed. I'd really appreciate it!

  • One friend of mine bought one today...Like i suspected its teh same software of the VS3, and adds the 2MP camera and the Bluetooth... Exclent for the price, great image, good memory, great keypad with nice looking lights (white) instead of the ugly green lights... For those of you , who criticise this phone, this is a fashion phone, and for 180 (here in Portugal) it does everything for the price is asked...Those of you who prefer a 3G buy one, because this is a fashion phone!!

  • this phone can only accept objects smaller than 1mb or 1000kb so you will have to convert it or make it smaller to send it to your phone hope that helps

  • wicked 2mp camera, crap video recording, low memmory, mine doesnt accept or play mp3,phone is way too long, speakers rubbish.only good thing is the camera, amazing colour screen THATS IT!!! got an e900 now much much better

  • I just bought mine. Only disappointment is that the red one is not as red as shown on the picture above. It's duller. I have mixed feelings with the software that came with the phone. It's not totally user friendly. I spent quite some time to figure out how to tranfer pics and music to and fro the phone. During data transfer, an indicator will show up on the phone as well on your PC. The indicator on the phone doesn't stop after data transfer is done. You'll have to cancel it yourself. Overall it's a good phone with all the basic features moreover the camera is 2 megapixels.

  • I have problems when trying to send files from PC to the telephone via Bluetooth. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

  • I bought this phone about two weeks ago. I loved it save that the Orange wap didn't work after the first day. I returned it for another at Carphone Warehouse. I asked them to test it before I left the shop. They did and they admitted they must have a bad batch with some kind of software problem. I left it there and then ordered one again over the internet(as I really wanted the phone) and the internet still doesn't work. I've been through this with Orange and they don't know what the problem is.

  • Does it have changeable covers I didn't find any.

  • very less memory space..very much delicate..but for its price the best fone with gr8 clarity

  • Heeeyyyy guys... what happen whit da memory.... excellent phone but nothing memory...

  • I am satisfied to see its screen and exclusive colors. it gives excellent color and image quality is really outstanding. but its memory is little bit low. if ther would be a memory slot it would be really an exclusive one. Its mp3 quality is also very good. but without head piece its sound is too low but video sound is ok. in total performance i like it.

  • ive had this foen for 4 months now ive only dropped it once or twice and the bottom left hand side is kinda scratched but thats okay but the only problem is that the top right side the "thing" came off the black thing. so annoying but apart from that teh phone is brilliant but anyone know how to turn the camera shutter sound off as it is veryannoying

  • This phone is sheer brilliance. The camera and video recording facilities are superb. To be quite honest, it is even better than the w800i (Motorola) which I had on contract. Its simple design is fantastic and the interface is also very easy to use unlike other phones. Moreover, it is priced at 150 which is incredible, considering its performance. I would recommend this phone to anyone!

  • This is a great phone but I have some problems with the bluetooth. I can't send anything from my computer to the phone through bluetooth. Please somebody help me!

  • Got one of these in november last year. Love it. Still there is one VERY annoying thing about it. Well, sure, it handles MP3 files. BUT! the phone will neither accept or play the file if it is 1 mb or more. It refuses it for some stupid reason. So if you want this phone because it has MP3, think again. Plus that the upper part of the phone is kinda loose, but i don't care.

  • how do you make it stop displaying the roaming triangle?

  • the cover is not secured properly when you unfliped you phone, and if you like chat with you people by sms, it makes much trouble to flip it time and time again!

  • It's a really neat looking phone! Want to know if it is compatible with the apple i book for mobile internet connectivity. Thanks!

  • There i was a few weeks ago walking along well suddenly my sagem myx-7 fell out off my pocket in to the road.Due to the fact the catch on the back is broken the phone dispered every where(the key pad made it a cross the road!)I thought embarriing perhaps but it still works if i pick it all up.BUT then a huge 4x4 warior truck came round the corner. It didnt hit the keypad ,the back cover or the front cover.NO it hit the handset Crush!Oh How un Lucky!I try to fix it at home but i coudnt get any signal!SO being a 13 year old with no paperound (cos there are not any avable for about 17 years!) and VERY little pocket money i was predicting on sinking to the level of the nokia 1100! After a while i managed to make my dad to give me 50 qiud!So then i saw the L6!ok but it is a bit rubish as a more simple version of the l7.BUt then i saw the PANSONIC VS6 on the carphone warehouse website... Well this phone is AMAZING!2MP,Bluetooh and Good Looks!MILES Beter than the Nec e40102??? or somethin like that and way beter that the "chavy" L6!Thanks gsmarena for the recomendation!I don't think i will need a new phone again..EVER!

  • unhappy with bluetooth and the ring volume is too much bad. Camera is rather good.

  • Is on the phone mp3? because in belgium is the phone not with mp3 i think

  • Is this the mobile from Final Fantasy VII:Advent Children? If not, could someone direct me to it?

  • this fone is just brilliant, exquisite. for the price tht is paid for it. its hell lot better.. much better. 2 megapixel camera,bluetooth...gd quality pics. its kinda light for a panasonic fone too.i would recommend ppl to buy it.. if thier budget is in this fone's range and would liek a powerful fone for its kind ------

  • Got a VS6 because it has good features that are used, pictures best on the market. If I'd wanted a MP3 player would have got a different phone but already have one, simple things make this phone a good un.

  • Ok thanks! Yea.. i fink i wil look aswel.. asmuch as the camera i want, and th brill price! Mp3 is kinder my 2nd best thing asewel! anyways thanks for all ur help! [great fone!:D]

  • Although it doesn't support mp3, it does play aac files, which can be easily converted through itunes.

  • definately better than the L6. The camera is ok. it does accept files over a meg but you need to transfer through USB cable for that. This is not a mp3 phone though. 32megs of nonupgrable memory cannot hold much. If mp3 is important look elsewhere. You cannot do anything else while listening to music either. Not even scroll your song list.

  • Hello, My b'day is in three weeks, n i need to choose a fone quick! I was lookin around at this one for months, and reali lookin forward to gettin it.. my main points i wnt on a fone is MP3, gd camera coz i use it 2 th pc, n bluetooth. But it wasnt til a couple of days ago som1 said to me that this fone doesnt acept files over 1mb!! That sucks thats not even a song.. this true? It was this or th motorola L6, that i dnt reali lyk th look of. Or a NEC one.. which is rubbish! Plz help, Thanks!

  • Last models from panasonic in GSM, in future panasonic will produec only 3G hand sets. VS series is great no doubt.

  • hello! can anyone tell if the sms messages are viewed/sorted by the text inside or the person who send it to us. thanks.

  • got one, really happy with the picture and screen, but unhappy with bluetooth features as i cannot send or receive files over 1 Mb either from another phone nor infrared from computer, finnaly got the infrared handset manager and it took 5 minutes + to send the file to the phone, is that the same with everybody or is it just my phone, Panasonic sort it out, Memory Card Slot and front case screen would make this my top phone @ the moment, Also have a UIQ Symbian Phone so thats a very good Panasonic. After all

  • This mobile's brill!! lol the funny thing is when u buy more expensive fones they have more problems that the cheaper ones...was thinking of buying the n91 but when i saw this i just had 2 get it..its a tad smaller and its got a mind-blowing screen!!...the only problem with this is the ringtone volume and the odd problem when uploading songs...other than that its a wiked mobile especially for its price...easily beats other fones higher up in the price sector..

  • Where to start? well iam 14 can't afford too much as i only ear 10 quid pocket money and 20 quid paperound, if have other needs too so only around 50% of my earnings went into my "fone tine" I was going to save for a nokia n70 then saw this. It may not have all the functions that the n70 has. But to be honest who uses half the functions that it has. The vs6 is much better value for money and value for functions. It has a great 2mp camera but the video is a bit pixelated. BUT HEY ITS A PHONE NOT A DIGITAL CAMERS. It has many features which have all had time and effort put into them. The screen.WOW 16million colours its the best screen out there. It beats up all the cometion thrown at it from nokia, samsung, lg hell, even some of its own panasonic brothers and sisters. If you are like money don't have lots of cash at hand then get this phone OUTSTANDING

  • Great phone. really neat stuff if you want mp3 over 1 meg you have to use USB cable. The thing is though, the sound is very low. In completely silent locations I have to strain to hear people's voices. Really bad conisdering it's a phone.

  • Hi al.z! Thanks for the clarification! :-)

  • After using the Sharp GX10i for a while the GS6 i like going from the stone age to the year 3000, very happy with all the features of this (you can not call it just a phone) item i will not be changing it for some time to come. All of you people who are considering getting one go ahead you will not be disapointed

  • This is a breath take fone. With that super LOW PRICE comes with 2MP camera, 16 Million Colours, Bluetooth, 32MB memory, and the hottest design in the market. What more do you want Honestly Panasonic can improves on the speaker for the future fone. Overall its a outstanding fone in the MARKET. You CAN'T GET any better fone with at kina price anywhere in the market, and you guy know it.

  • got this phone a few days ago and it's very nice. before it i had the panasonic sa6 and i was happy with that phone too. i changed to vs6 because of the 2mp camera and the looks. i don't mind the fact that it doesn't have a memory slot card. i just would have liked for it to be able to select between using the sim memory or the phone memory only with contacts. the sa6 couldn't do that either. it would be nice for panny to update their soft but i highly doubt they will. other than that mentioned above, this phone looks like the biz. i mean, it looks like a serious phone, not like others that look like toys. also, it has a cool feel to it. the inbuilt 2mp camera senzor is really good. takes wonderful photos.

  • does it support chinese character?

  • Pros: -2 MP camera. How lousy can it get? -Where Panasonic owns other brands. It's crystal clear display screen. -Affordable Cons: -Ringtone too soft. -Camera shutter sound -Camera lacks a flash -No external screen

  • im jux curious tt is the receiving of sound so bad? cos im considering buying VS6, but i heard a lot of comments saying the ringtone are soft and the reception of VS6 are bad. can anyone advise me? shl i buy tis phone? thanx in advise.

  • the phone is brilliant!!!!!!!!

  • my 3rd days using the phone.. my package include the cable so it is fine with me just $96 sing dollar... cheap cheap.... hm... things i dun like is when upload mp3 file very troublesome... need rnding time and starting time.. thn for it to be uploaded to hp need some times... but on the gd points.. sound quite clear... pic clear.. 2mp..

  • DarkRay, i used the panasonic sa6 and that phone did support ringing and vibrating at the same time.

  • someone help..how do you transfer song files from computer to handphone through usb?i tried browsing for files but the software couldnt detect it

  • Anyone knows how many pictures can i store with 32MB ?? I'm talkin about Full Size, 2MP pictures. Thanks !

  • Can anybody tell me if the phone supports real simultaneous ringtones and vibrations? Some manufacturers claim that their phones can do that but phones like Samsung X200 and D600 only have a "vibrate then ring" profile. Also, are there any lags on the interface and during SMS? Thank you.

  • A verry great phone!!!The best...Good job guys!!!

  • Whoever wanted the link for free stuff on this phone... Visit , or www.zedge.no both allow you to select menu icons, pictures, sounds, videos etc, and then you simply visit the wap site using your phone to download them at no additional cost to you (apart from normal wap charges). If you want to solve the whole 1mb maximum transfer size problem, download the Diet Mp3 software from this site: It shrinks your mp3 files whilst saving the quality.

  • wrong name,I mean I@m,sorry.

  • martin,is there a site to download games, themes or ringtones? (free). The phone is good but the only problem is that the mp3 files don't sound very loud. Thanks,Kotsalo

  • Hello. I have been reading the comments and see no reason to doubt this phone. This phone is GREAT! It's not PERFECT but its the best u can get for it's price! I hv sent files to/from using bluetooth to my friends who hv K700i and D600 and it seems to work fine. BUT when they tried to send music files (MP3) it couldnt because it was larger than 1MB. The only way is to order a USB cable from the website. I have and it's coming in April.

  • is there anyway to extend my recording time on this phone cos i'v found it really annoying when im tryin to record somethin longer than 1 minuite 5 seconds

  • Whats with this phone.. Just got a USB Bluetooth Dongle, and i dont see any OBEX file transfer options.. Is this the case?

  • @casius , thank U

  • @Strafe , a downloadlink would be nice

  • Hi! Has anybody tried syncing this with outlook? I mean the contacts? Can anybody tell me something about this? Thanks! Bowman69

  • To everybody: There's nothing wrong with the phone concerning connectivity! It simply can't accept files larger than 1 MB through IrDA. If you would like to upload larger files, please use a data cable. And Panasonic has its own phone management software, you just need a computer with an internet connection to find it. PS: I have VS3 and it's working perfectly.

  • oi ppl i've been saving for like 3 weeks for this phone and by the sound of all tha comments it wasnt worth it, and i only get $6 an hours so as you can imagine im really p!$$eD off. so someone please tell me if its worth getting the VS6 or not....HELP :)

  • Can you send or recieve files from other phones with blutooth/infrared for ex. K700i Samsung D500etn.How long con you record video and how loud is the speaker?

  • i`ve tried to upload games from my pc to the phone with blue tooth. nada, it doesnt work. someone knows how to get it work properly with bluetooth? why doesn`t have panasonic some kind of program to moderate your phone?

  • Panasonic Vs6's users and Vs7 should demand a bringing up to date of firmware to solve the problem that this telephone has to hear ringing tones ( Mp3 ) and to the speaker ( the person than this one the other side of the line ).

  • I just ordered this phone from Germany (I live in Finland) and can't wait to get it ;) 1 question to you that allready have it, can you sync contacts with MS Outlook? I have all my contact there... I have email-addresses and other info there so I can't use the SIM-card to transfer the data to the new phone. Thanks in advance! **Bowman69**

  • The VS6 is kinder boring but well worth its low price. The only main good points about this phone are the camera & screen 2.2 inch TFT 16 million colour screen with brightness approx 300 candella & 2 megapixel photo camera you would expect perfect screen shot images ( the pix are good but nothing compared to what i thought before i perchased the handset) dont get carried away by the the shop description! AND the video recordind is the worst ive ever seen, ive explored lots of video camera phones and this is far the worst. another major con was the key pad design the main intersection is very close & sqashy you would have to have very small & skinny fingers to not press the wrong buttons! ive noticed with Panasonic phones all videoing is bad quaulity!!!!

  • I really want to know why do the Panasonic MX6, MX7, VS2, VS3, VS6, VS7, SA6, and SA7 have all mp3 players but they all dont have card slots. I mean why bother have mp3 players when the memory is is not expandable. This really bugs me, aggrrr. Oh and by the way all these fones look really cool especially the VS6 and the SA7.

  • can u add more memory onto this phone, maybe by using a memory card if there is nd if there is wat sizes are those memory cards coz this phone kinda looks awesome but i want to put more memory

  • Yes to the question below, it does come with a USB cable for data trasfer.

  • am gettin this fone 4 ma b-day.it looks good.does it come with a usb cable.som1 anser

  • japan government had a law about camera phone now, saying that every phone with camera function has to be sounded, this action is to beat those ppl up who use it as a peeping camera >.^

  • Got dis fone free yesterday with one year contract with T-mobile.reception is OK.light in weight but no fancy outlook.....unbeatable screen which u can put animated Gif and JPG as a wallpaper, ringing volume is not high enough tho, imagine u would using it at outdoor. have no problem with MP3, I can even put a complete 6mins mp3 in it. connection btw pc and the fone itself is extremely slow......it spent like 5 mins to transferred that 6mins MP3 which is not cool! about the pciture quality, I don't think it works like traditional 2.0mpixel digital camera, so don't take it as a camera, use your DC for shooting picture, VS6 is a fone! I would rate thid fone 8 out of 10 for satifaction. hope this helpful for any of you who considering buy thid fone or not.

  • This phone s*cks! Every 2 a 3 days it's blocking my simcart and i have to restart the phone again. The backcover is made of very thin plastic thats creaks and loosens a lot. Also the openingsystem is badly constructed: my vs6 has problems with it after 3 weeks of normal use. Standby over 400 hours? forget it!! I did a test without using the phone and after 10,5 days it was over (about 250hrs). The speakervolume sounds low, it's hard to understand the caller. Misserable phone so i sold it after a month. Never again a Panasonic: made in Czech republic....says enough to me about the quality.

  • This is really one good phone, I had a D600 and sold it for this. Its just as good as that and I would say the camera is better, it takes the picture very fast and you dont need to hold the phone as still as you did with the D600. The screen is really nice and its much more smaller and compact in real life and i would say it looks very nice. Very good bargin indeed! Only 80 on ebay

  • best phone ever!!!!

  • i jsut got this phone yesterday and started using it today. I think it is very good the colour of the screen, the design and the 2mp camera. The only problem is that i couldnt upload my mp3's it kept saying wrong format or something similar but they were mp3. file. I went adn read the instruction manual and they say the phone supports only ISO mp3 files and anyway know what that is??

  • You have not been lucky, this telephone does not give problems

  • now im really done with this phone. it was restarting sim up to 6 times a day. brought it back, and exchanged it for a new one, which is doing the same thing!!!!! ffs, thats it. this phone is cr@p

  • all the panasonic phones have the resolution set on 1.3 mp standard, so it doesnt take up as much memory. if you're gonna compare pictures, you may want to set the resolution higher, as well as the picture quality.

  • what a rubbish phone. when i heard about the 240x320 resolution screen and 2mp camera i thought it would be the best phone out there, how wrong i was. the camera is good but you have to be so still it is almost impossible and the video quality is so bad and pixelated. it looks so old and ugly when its open and not switched on. 32mb just isnt enough for the pictures and some mp3s (must be under 1mb otherwise the phone wont accept it) bluetooth has often failed on me. ive gone back to using my orange spv c500 and vs6 has gone on ebay.

  • The k700i The VS6

  • does this phone have a flash camera & photo caller id?

  • every 3 or 4 days, it says "restarting sim" and the phone reboots. the 1mb limit on bluetooth is a serious pain! it says 2.0 megapixel camera. i seriousely doubt that, the picture quality is far better even in a sony ericsson k700i, or a samsung d500. and they are only 1.4mpx. plus, the video quality is utter crap!

  • heard from my friend that panasonic phones cant have the picture-taking sound off.. it is true? yea i also would want the sound off..

  • i'm diggin' this fone, man! too bad it don't have any memory card, that would really make it into a mean machine. whata was panny thinkin' when they released the mx/vs/sa series without any of the models having memory card slots?

  • in manual it say the camera has 25x digital zoom, that is far from the truth, I compared it with an k750, this phone has only 4x digital zoom, and that 4x zoom works only at 640x480 resolution.

  • Hi, anyone now how to make the camera let take pics without a sound?

  • i have vs6 only 4 days.i think it is good so far!i like very much the design and of course the fantastic screen.i want to ask some things.can anyone tell me how long does the video last?only ome minute?and something else.how can i download ringtones?is it for free?and al last i want to ask how can i download mp3 and how many songs can i hane in my mobile? please answer me !

  • I really dig the advanced display and camera features on the Panasonic phones. Both the regular speaker and speaker phone could be improved. I think I'll upgrade to a VS6...

  • The VS7 has an external screen , flash and a bigger scren than the vs6... I have the vs3 but im thinking about changing to this because of the bluetooth.

  • hi,anyone knows what's the difference between VS 6 and VS 7?I can only see that VS 7 is bigger in size.

  • does anyone know if it is possible to transfer mp3 songs from my computer to my panasonic vs6?

  • i don like any phone but whjen i saw this phone i am impressed and now i got this phone now

  • Bought this phone new for 240 euro. After one week i didn't like it and sold it for not more than a less 130 euro! Nobody wants it. At the Phonehouse (only store in Holland that sells VS6) has this phone build up a very bad reputation after it's release.

  • Everybody is talking about the lovely screen etc. but they forget to notice that the total quality of this VS6 is miserable! Had 3 versions in 2 months and they all had the same problems; fell outs, freezing screen, bad sounding speaker and much more. Yeh the screen is the best and also a good 2mp camera too...but the worst in total building quality. Panasonic has made some savings in that matter.

  • does anyone know how to download pics from your pc to the vs6 via bluetooth?

  • i like this phone, however the sound quality and video quality is REALLY poor. they are my complaints but the camera excellent especially in low light considering its lack of a flash.

  • i think the speaker and the ear speaker is too soft.. bearly hear anything. using the ear piece will be much better in hearing the other party.

  • even though iv'e only owned this phone for a matter of weeks now.. i hate it. above all it is the sound quality of hearing calls/txts coming through and making calls in itself. i struggle to hear people and they struggle to hear me. battery life is very poor as is reception on this phone. often on 0-1 bars. i have to hover by a window to even pick up 2 bars. i also had this phone freeze up on me last week when a message came through. i went to open it to read it and it wouldn't let me, nor would it let me make a text. sure the problem was rectified with taking the battery out and putting it back in again, but i don't want to have to put up with that. a very small consolation is being able to get some of the freebie games/tones/screensavers ect from panasonic box.hopefully will be able to get shot of it on ebay for the same price bought it before all those naive people out there realise that this phone isn't all that after all & it looses its value/popularity. having a top camera phone isn't all that when every other aspect of it is absolute sh*t. rach

  • Hi, that's a great phone! beautiful screen, very good camera, I've never been able to use the whole battery. No memory card thats the only bug. In all a very good phone.

  • Funny thing here is that while some people have mentioned a few minor positives about the screen along the lines of "OK screen" "good screen" no-one seems to truely understand how good the screen is this screen shows 15.7million more colours than the current high standard on a phone (262k colour screen) this phone has belive it or not the best screen available on a UK phone... Most of the negative points on here are people who just dont know how to use the phone... The battery life is awesome had my phone 2 weeks use my phone lots including playing sonic over and over and only charged it 3 times so far... The build is better than most Sony Ericsson phones no creaks when you press buttons etc... The phone lacks external memory which is why its (and if you had a brain this would be obvious) no good as an mp3 player and you cant receive or send games via Bluetooth as with most phones... But overall one of the best phones on the market and for sure the best phone on the market for under 250

  • Had it for a few weeks. It's a lovely phone (much specs for less cash), but the building quality sucks with a big S. The battery cover is made of very thin plastic and unleash much too easy. There is too much friction in the swirlmechanism specially when it's closed. Sometimes when i opened the phone it felled off and had to start it up again. Software is absolutely not the quickist one. For me this phone may costs twice as much if Panasonic do someting about the total quality. Now it's rubbish with the latest technique.

  • Overall - Nice set . +ve - Sleek Looks ( esp when nokia and others are going all out to fatten their size and weight both !) Flip open Excellent camera ( and at this cost !!) Good pic resolution Good text size Bluetooth headset -ve - Low sound Non extendable memory Low battery life ( esp if games & vdos are used) But all in all good set.

  • @valdas... I have some band demo's as ringtones... they're about 1Mb.

  • Anyone know if their actually going to release a red version in the UK? I Much prefer the red to the black but it doesn't seem to be on sale anywhere :o( I'd hate to pay over the odd's for a rare red one on e-bay, only for them to start selling them shortly afterwards... Did e-mail Panasonic's 'customer services' a couple of weeks ago to ask, but they never replied...

  • can see a lot of these going back to the carphone sh@thouse. annoying that its a walking advert. call me stupid, but where the hell does the usb cable go, if you had one? never had so much trouble from any phone recieving bluetooth from the pc. typical cheapskate companies saving money by minusing the cable. carphone description says no for mp3 capabiity. when i try to send one, transfer failed comes up everytime. with the extra chimes etc, is a clear attempt to copy samsung effects. camera not as heroic as i hoped. unnessecarily large. damned if im paying for games via wap! get the feling its gonna fall apart easily. wish the mp3 thingy was simple, and games. not too bad all around. only saving grace for me, is that the message tone is a really loud fart. really, i recorded it after a sweet chilli chicken overdose. you can see where they skimped on the applications end. just like nokia, one more application justifies an entire new phone. thats why we all not too bothered with nokia anymore. best phone i seen for years was the samsung d500. sorry i sold it now. lol. cheers, the gimp

  • Why do these phones cost more on eBay than they do from the Carphone Warehouse (where you'll get a year's warranty)? Does anyone know how the camera on this phone compares with the SE K/D 750i?

  • hello i bought panasonic vs6 just 2 weeks ago.i think its pretty good i alredy downloaded lots of ringtones,games.e.t.c but this phone only plays ringtones not larger than 300kb thats about 30 seconds long and videos are same it only plays not larger than 300kb...DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHINK TO MAKE THIS PHONE PLAY RINGTONES LARGER THAN 300KB...IS IT POSSIBLE?

  • Seriously i got this phone for xmas and seriously...u dnt need a front screen... you should get this phones its sooooo good...camera is brill Can some tell me though...how can i install applications on my phone thanks Mark

  • i always thought that th flip button broke th mobile if u didnt use th button, bcoz th one in th shop, it doesnt close properly.. maybe this is bcoz its not been looked after! but i duno wheather to go with this fone.. bcoz this doesnt ave a front screen? Does this make a diff 2 u ppl? n th mony is gr8 for wot it is.. Test done it in th shop, n very impressed.. but i jst dont no if i couldnt handle a front screen...... please help me decide, its got brill everything else.. does ne1 ave ne pic th could send me.. coz i wana no reali wot i lots like, Cheerz, Matt XD

  • Dries - Minor points perhaps. And clearly I stand corrected on that one point. But like I said, while this is a good phone overall (demonstrated by my only pointing out "minor things"), it doesn't meet up to the standards that I expect - standards set by the likes of Nokia and Sony Ericsson, whose firmware is generally rock-solid and doesn't do any of the strange things I've experienced with this phone.

  • had this fone now 4 bout a month and it seriously is absolutely fantastic, excellent camera with a video recorder better than a d600, mp3's r gr8, volume not amazing but still gud, definetyly worth the money, and a must have 4 any real fone user

  • Manufacture a firmware (bringing up to date) for the better some failures of the terminal? Improving the sound, problems with BT.

  • btw the flip button is more of a novelty. often i forget its there half the time and flip open the mobile the normal way. i get the feeling it'll last longer too opening it that way.

  • well iv'e had this phone for about a couple wks now.i haven't got round to obtaining a usb data cable for it yet, so will only mention the things that i do know about. it sounded like a mobile too good to be true for the price and it is. don't get me wrong the camera quality is excellent, the video quality about average,(go's very blocky if you move it around too much)but the downside is only a minutes video.(most newish mobs out there have around a hr). the one thing that really bugs me about this phone is the volume setting. i'm far from deaf but i can barely hear the video play back, cannot hear the phone ringing or texts coming through the majority of the time. especially so if the phone is 1. in my handbag and i'm in a street/shop, 2. in another room from me. it doesn't help that the speaker is on the back and the max volume setting only go's up to volume 4 which is still fairly quiet. i used to own the mortorola v500 before this and thought the volume on that was rubbish too but compared to this phone its a lot better. iv'e managed to download some mp3/polyphonic tunes that come out reasonably loud but even they are still quiet compared to other mobiles iv'e heard. it really is a shame because the main reason for having a mobile is for txting/calling. whats the point if u can't hear one coming through? the call quality is quite poor. upon recieving a call from my partner while in town the other day( i was in a reasonably quiet street at time), i barely heard his voice coming through, although he heard me okay) reception wise it is quite poor most of the time too but that could just be to do with where abouts i live-who knows? battery life is just average, only that. like with any phone if u mess about videoing/downloading/playing games/taking pics.. the batt life will go pretty quickly. going on the wap was another nightmare in itself trying to get to sites to download freebie tones- it often displayed pages too large(pc size) and links would not work or files too large to be downloaded when they did perfectly before on my v500. anyway after a lot of rigmarole and messing about i finally went to these sites via another way and it worked properly that time. its very good of course the mobile itself coming in a unlocked state which saves a bit of money there if u wish to stick to your current network but without paying more than the cheapest option at carphone warehouse(vodafone). the games, well..the footie one(who bothers with that?) and of course sonic.., great game in itself but with the right arrow button(needed to move sonic along) being so close to the end call button, your thumb(or mine does anyway) often presses this which annoying keeps suspending the game. my thumb isn't that big either! the mobiles appearence itself isn't what one would call attractive. it doesn't help of course that the red version is very hard to obtain without going abroad/paying some stupidly ridicolus price.. and there are no current facias for it. at least the majority of the buttons are a little spaced out unlike some mobile phones where the buttons are so squashed together, to do one txt looks like it would take half the day. so there u have it my opinions of the vs6..great for taking pics but little else really. rach

  • is it loud enough for mp3 ringtoneS? i'm kinda deciding over vs6 or vs7.. duno which one i should get.. but i really like that flip button XD

  • @Mr.Buy You make a lot of trouble about minor things tbh. e.g. "****includes randomly choosing to send photos as MMS messages rather than saving them" that's because you push the center button, if you want to save it, you have to push the left button...

  • oooo another thing....can someone just tell me yes or no....does this thing do mp3??

  • ive had this phone a week now, and its think its fab!! the greatness of it makes up for the size, but to be honest, the size is okay anyway!! its full of features, and the photos are amazing quality!! just one question for anyone else who has this phone tho - do you have to use the button to flip it open, or can you just pull it open without the button? i recomend this phone to anyone its a right angel :)

  • I've owned this phone for about three weeks, and overall I'm not too impressed. I'm just going to list some of my main opinions of it. THE GOOD + Flip button is nice + Photos are high quality + Many features + Decent screen THE BAD - Ugly interface/fonts - Video quality is poor - Battery life worse than expected* - MMS is listed above SMS and this annoys me - Status lights are pretty useless - T9 dictionary adds its own words** - Startup/shutdown screens display Carphone Warehouse advertising and cannot be disabled*** - Erratic behaviour**** * was advertised as 450 hours. My 2-year old Nokia has an advertised battery life of 300 hours and lasts 5-7 days. The VS6 manages 3 days maximum, even when not using it. ** apparently Jtsu is now a word. *** perhaps this is not a problem for most people. Manufacturer/network logos are expected, but I do not expect to be greeted with "Carphone Warehouse - for a better mobile life". ****includes randomly choosing to send photos as MMS messages rather than saving them, transmitting my phone's Bluetooth name as "CPW Ben" when I clearly named it something else, and changing my background picture to a photo that I deleted TWO WEEKS AGO. Maybe I was just unlucky with that last point. Without those I could probably say this was a decent phone with a few minor interface niggles. As it stands I'm not happy. And I'm not keen on my phone being a portable Carphone Warehouse advert.

  • do You have problems transferring by means of Bluetooth toward another check marks? ( pardon for my English )

  • Just a quick update - I bought a usb data cable on ebay for the Panasonic X800 phone and it works fine with the VS6. It only cost me 1.45 + postage as well !

  • Can the pictures taken from the vs6 be compared with the w800 or d600??

  • Some people were asking about the picture&movie quality etc. *the pictures on the phone screen are very nice tbh but don't expect "real digital camera" photos! the 1600x1200 is quite big but the noise reduction "sucks" so with a lack of light your pictures aren't that great. *The movies can be up to 59seconds i think, but the quality is poor, even on the phone screen you can see the 'pixels'! If you consider them as gadgets, they're fun. Alfter all, for the price, the phone is magnificent! Hope this helps yall.

  • I bought one of these last week from Carphone Warehouse. Well pleased but can't get the bluetooth to work between my PC and the phone (works ok phone to phone). I've been trying to buy a usb data cable for it but can't find one anywhere. However, I noticed that the code for the usb cable on the Panasonic website is the same for the VS6, VS7 and X800, so assumed that they must require the same cable !. I managed to find a cable for 1.45 on ebay for the X800 so I've ordered one and I'll let you know if it works.

  • thank U Paul for the replay

  • Answers to mmore; you can buy a datacable at eu.gsm or at ebay. Also in Holland you can join the Panasonicbox site for free downloads.

  • this phone rules i got it not long ago, but it wont let me put mp3's on it n it ses i can. how do i do it???

  • can someone please tell me if the mp3 ringtones can be used for your txt message allert tone aswell or does it have pre-set message allert tones like the sony ericsson phones and the samsung d500 that cant be changed for a ringtone thats been downloaded

  • got this one for 3 weeks now. data cable not included, so i bought a blue tooth dongle (cellink BTA 3120) drivers are not compateble with windows XP, SP2. after a long google search i found widcomm drivers for my blue tooth dongle. everything works fine, ringtones, pictures and wallpapers going up and down between pc and vs6. uploading games(jar/jad)doesnt work with the vs6, the phone doesnt support it? also tried several edit progs, but the VS6 is not compatible with this programs. i`m happy with my phone, but the support from panasonic is very poor. in holland you cant find a usb cable or any software related to the panasonic vs6.

  • Hello! First of all I want to say that I dont speak English very good. A few days ago I bought VS6 and now Ive got some questions: 1) Is it possible to view only one Contacts List (Phonebook or SIM card)? 2) Is it possible not to be disabled by itself the ability to be the phone viewable by other Bluetooth devices? 3) Is there any faster way to change the Profiles? 4) Can I make my own envelopes to store into them SMSs (the incoming ones also)? 5) Is it bad to open the flip by my hand and not by pushing the button?

  • you can "mark all" then copy to phone book.which after you can delete your sim card names.ya.it should help. :)

  • just got my phone now - its sooo cool! but i have one problem - can someone help me please?! i cant work out how to just use the phone memory for my contacts and not both the sim and the phone memory :s mmm please help me :)

  • hi nathan thanks for the replies. i actually found out what you said by making various trips down to the car phone warehouse this wk. typical that they didn't tell me that in the first place when i first went down there and it didn't mention nothing of the sorts on their site. anyway i'm about to purchase my vs6 from the site very soon on the cheapest option. just hopw when i get it delivered what they said about the mobs all being in a unlocked state are true. am a bit dissapointed that they do not sell the usb/data leads though or it doesn't come with the mob itself. anyone found out where the cheapest place to purchase them is? the staff in my local carphone warehouse are quite dim. i asked about the red and black version to which they said they didn't stock it. but however they could order me in a red/black cover for it if i wished to do so. yet this site states there is no covers/facias for the vs6. aarrggh, lol. rach

  • The mobile vs6 cannot be used as a modem to connect a laptop to Internet. This is a serious limiataion. I was mislead by the company show room in Chennai, India where I was told that this feature was available. I am corresponsing with the company regarding this misrepresentation. It appears some of the older models have this feature but not this model..Strange..omission of the key feature in a later model..and not highlighting this in the literature.. Naavi of www.naavi.org

  • The very good telephone, excellent battery, good chamber, the best visual display screen.

  • To Varun, While trying to connecting, you may want to disable ur firewall or ur anti virus for a while

  • can any one tell me how good is this phone, really? is the camera and the display that good? thnks

  • I have just ordered one of these on a vodafone pay as you talk from Carphone Warehouse, its for when i go out at the weekends as i dont want to carry my N90 about when im in a drunken state. Im on 02 contract though so I sure hope the guy that said it comes unlocked is right. 99.99 for this phone is a bargain look forward to its arrival.

  • Hi there, Wondering. does the panasonic vs6 support mp3 files as ringtones? I know it has a built in mp3 but can you like for example, say get mp3s off your computa and have them as mp3 format and the ringtone on your phone?

  • I am thinking of buying this phone, but some supplier seems to supply just the handset, whilst others include a USB cable and the like. Does carphone warehouse just sell the handset? Does the VS6 only come with additional USB cable etc. from abroad? Also, there are different reviews about the picture quality. I've read that picture quality is poor, but also fantastic - which is it?! Thank you

  • To Rach (again lol), As far as I know The Carphone Warehouse only stocks the black and silver one... perhaps the red one is limited edition?

  • To Rach, The phone comes factory unlocked to any UK network when you buy it from the Carphone Warehouse. For example, you could buy it on Vodafone (the cheapest option) for 99.99 and then sell that SIM on and put your old SIM in without needing to unlock.

  • In response to Tony, who asked if you can mute the camera sound: I don't think you can - not even with the silent profile (which is therefore not really silent...) But if you don't like the default nasty trash-can sound, then at least in the Picture Options menu you can change it to a different shutter sound (like a chime or something). It would be good if you could assign a ringtone to the camera sound. Don't think you can though.

  • Hi everyone. Got this phone for christmas, did not come with any software. if there is any software for it does anyone know where i can get it or download it. thanks

  • Hi everyone, Can somebody advice me how to connect it with my PC, i m having a bit of a trouble in it, it shows trying to connect evrytime. thanks

  • sorry to hog the message boards but i just thought has anyone actually come across the red one to buy on payg at all?. it is a lot more attractive than the standard black one, but i'm not too bothered i guess. thanks

  • Hi Tom. Where did you buy this phone in an unlocked state, and was it brand new? ive looked on a few sites and they say there is no unlocking code available for it yet. However, two people are selling their unlocked vs6's on ebay, which is all the more confusing. Has anyone managed to obtain a vs6, other than from the carphone warehouse (i read they were just exclusive to this shop). I'd like the phone on orange, ideally brand new but it is currently sold out and they don't have them to buy sim free.... If anyone else can help out that would be great too. Thanks for the replies to my previous message. rach p.s just how long exactly can you record video for at a time and whats the quality like?

  • Hi DNAT, My brother gave me a bleutooth adapter for christmas xD It works fine. Happy Newyear every1!

  • hiii is vs6 possible to store more than 1mb of mp3 if none of the memory is used for photos and etc?

  • I didn't get any software either when I bought the phone today. I did find out however that the phone comes factory unlocked - buy the cheapest network model, your sim card will still work!

  • Hi James, the code for the USB cable is: USB Cable EB-USX800 For more info, click this URL (click the VS6 icon)

  • The software CD comes with the handset; it comes with 2 interface: 1) infra 2) USB -after installing the software, two icons (infra & USB) will appear on your PC's desktop in which you can click either one to transfer data in/out of PC Hope this info helps ...

  • Hi Dries, I bot it at M1 shop (Singapore) - * Standard Sales Package * 1 x VS6 Handset 1 x Battery Li-ion 830mAh 1 x Headset (Stereo) 1 x CD Rom / Handset Manager 1 x USB Cable 1 x Charger 1 x User Manual I managed to use the CD to run the software "HandsetManager" which allows user to transfer (phone PC)data (message, contacts, pictures, sounds, video). The HandsetManager also contains folders which has other pictures / icons / clip-art in it whereby you can upload them from the PC to your handphone. Since you bot the phone w/o USB cable and the CD software, maybe you can buy a Bluetooh Adaptor to transfer data between the handphone and PC Happy 2006 ....

  • Quality - I value ( tph ) the best choice of market. Very good. Spain ;)

  • Yes, but it's very low quality.

  • Does the video function actually work? Recording and playback etc?

  • Hey DNAT, I didn't recieve any software when I bought the phone, and I also didn't get an USB cable with it :s Where did you buy it?

  • 1. I believe it just play MP3 ringtones cos I hafen download any of such yet. 2. The USB cable came with the handset when In bought it. 3. the incoming call ring tones has 4 levels, its loud enuff in noisy area if set at level 3. 4. the sound is quite clear at most times. Hope the info helps.

  • very interested in getting this mobile but have a few things i'd like to know asap.. if someone can help me out that owns it. 1. does it have a mp3 player on it or not or dioes it just play mp3 tones? 2. has anyone managed to actually obtain a usb/data cable anywhere other than say ebay? 3.when set on its highest volume do u have problems hearing it ringing sometimes? 4.when recieving/making calls are voices muffled/tinny or does anybody your speaking to say u sound like that? as many replies as poss appreciated please. sounds like a fab mob.. other than those dissapointing quotes iv'e read on a few review sites. many thanks.

  • Hi Dries, thanks for your prompt reply. When I download the software using the CD provided, it prompted me to select "panasonic cable" / "Infra" .. I selected "cable" and when I attached the USB cable (one end to the HP and the other to the PC USB port) and wanted to transfer fr HP to PC, I couldn't. I guess I need to download the CD software and select 'Infra' option ... hehe. Thanks very much ya. Wish you a Happy New Year.

  • You can use infrared or bluetooth, sending files from mobile to pc is quite easy. Select a file, go to options, select "send via" and choose your connection. I didn't try Pc-> phone with bleutooth yet but with infrared it's easy: select the map "wireless connection" (which shows up when the mobile is within 20cm of the pc and infrared is activated) and upload a file from your computer. I hope it works...

  • Hi Dries, can I ask you - I had download the CD software 'HandsetManager' into my PC, how do I transfer the pics/sounds/videos .. between VS6 and my PC? Thanks

  • @ Alex: I have the same WAP problem :(

  • Hello, I've been using the phone for about 5 days now, it's really nice... The Camera has 3 great effects: sepia, monochrome and negative... The pictures aren't that good when there is a lack of light though. You can easily send pictures with infrared and bleutooth 2 your computer and delete them afterwards so the 32Mb is quite enough... The one-push-open button works fine and I think the spring will last for a while. You can also upload music files such as m4a, mp3 etc. and use them as rightones. If you have more questions, just ask me!

  • Can anyone please tell me if thePanasonic VS6 comes preloaded with SVGT animation content or not? Thanks.

  • Hi, can anyone tell me if there has been any problems with the spring opening system. As the phone appears to be great value but I'm worried about the longevity of the spring. Thanks

  • can anyone explain why there is said to be 32mb of memory space but only less than 1mb can be used for mp3?

  • Hi.Even if it have,32MB is too little for MP3.

  • Does this phone have a MP3 player as the specification suggests?

  • Hey Dave mate, the cam is superb , if u like u can have my email address and ill send u a pic that i tuk , the quality is brilliant, the pictures i saw on the site u posted were awful lol, crap photographe lol let me know Alex

  • Is anyone having trouble finding a USB Cable for the VS6? I can't find one at all. I even have a Serial Number for the Cable, but I can't find the code on the Panasonic website to order it. Anyone got any ideas.

  • hi everyone, i've been using the VS6 for about a month now and i find it a really pleasant phone to use. The software is relatively user friendly and i love the display!! very clear...heh, as my phone dealer said..with TFT 16 mil colour it's like watching TV

  • Ok, so it's got 2 Megapixel camera but can anyone tell me is the actual image quality any good?? It looks to me just as bad as VGA (0.3 Megapixel) phone cameras. It doesn't seem to focus on the subject, e.g. look in this review: Could it be that that person just gone a duff camera lens??

  • hey again people, i seem to be havin problem with my WAP on the vs6, the first couple of days i had the phone it worked fine but now it just will not connect to anything, even the home page which is really frustrting..can anybody help me? Thanks Alex

  • hi, im thinking of buying this phone. it looks good, but does the camera have a flash on? an how can you put mp3s on it ?

  • the only differences from the vs6 and vs7 is that, the vs7 has a front screen, x-changerable covers, and inside a large "2.5" screen instead of a "2.2" screen which, is featured on the vs6

  • Could anyone please tell me the differences between VS6 and VS7?thanks

  • Is it possible to mute the camera sound?

  • Hi there, I have bought this mobile last week, it is really good, but i have also same problems about sending-receving files. first of all i could not send mp3 files, i have found a mp3 wav converter and wav -mmf converter. i can only send mmf file to phone. also i could not send jar files to this machine. "session could not be honored" it says. but screen and photo properties are very fine. i can suggest this machine...

  • That means we can only use mp3 ringtones.

  • yes u can put mp3s onto the phone... but unfortunatly the mp3 has to be under 1mb... which is very small. Mark

  • gr8 fone amzing for its price! and i love the classic sonic that is already installed. just the one problem!! it don't come with a data/usb cable which is a dissapointment as most phones do. worth the money!

  • it is not bad i guess...i think the design and the clour is perfect for me and the function of the phone is no bad.. i love the phone...as for mp3 i think ther is promblem..but i dun wish to tell it is ok anyway...

  • Had the phone for about two weeks, experienced the bluetooth/IR problems so decided to get data link cable to download from pc, cable came with wrong drivers so searched for VS6 drivers online for hours with no success. Has anyone got any info on where I can get them from if so please mail me at [email protected]. Cheers

  • Cheers Tony, i figured it out anyways hehe thanks anyway mate Alex

  • Hi Alex, When your pc is connected with your mobile via bluetooth/infrared, select the pic your want to transfer and "option"->"Send via"... Does anybody know how to send mp3 songs to VS6? Every time I try, it says no enough space. But I think there is some space for several songs. By the way, I don't have a USB cable for this phone.

  • the phones vidoes can last up 2 1 minute i think. also this phone is simply the best. i bought it for 100 and i has a 2 megapixel camera, and it has the old clasical sonic the hedgehog game. best fone for that kind of price. can you put MP3s on it?

  • Hi all, just wanted to know, around how many videos can you store on the phone, and how long will each video last for? Thanks Mark

  • Me again :P was just wondering can anyone tell me how to get the pics form my phone onto the pc? i have a bluetooth dongle attatchment which i have used for all my past bluetooth to send videos to my fones etc but there is so filesharing folder so i dnt know how to do it :S please can somebody help as i want to get my pics taken on my pc as it is a 2mp camera! Thnks ALex

  • Hey Guys, just got the VS6 today, just wanna let you all know its a class phone, at first i was a bit iffy about getting it due to its size etc but now that i have it i have realised that it really isnt that big and its not heavy atall. the camera is fantastic, 2MP for around 100, cnt beat it. the phone overall is very good, i strongly recommend it. Alex, Manchester

  • yeh i would like to know if the video is any good and can it actually go longer than 1 minute

  • Is the video quality any good, I mean the quality of the videos you have taken. Cheers

  • I have had this phone for a month now. All is great! Had a Samsung d600 for 2 weeks before and returned it, the same for the W800i. Both offered good mp3 functionalities and the W800i has a great camera. However, the screen on the VS6 is AMAZING! One of the best on the market (if not the best), puts the other two two shame. It has a camera comparable to that of the W800i and far better than the D600 and the bluetooth is as easy as any other I've used to date. Potential problems; no external screen which was no issue to me (the light flashes and you open it up), no expandable memory which if you're like me and have any reasonable taste in music, you'll already have a 5gb+ MP3 player anyway (this is a phone, right?). Battery life is good, as is the operating system. Good job Panasonic.

  • I am thinking of getting either this or the V3i. This looks more appealing as it is about 180 cheaper and has mostly better spec. The only thing I was wondering is how you can play videos on this, and how easy the bluetooth is to use as these are key factors in my decision, thanks!

  • Isn't it a problem that you can't see who is calling and have to open the device to see it?

  • Got this phone about two weeks ago. I love it! It has everything! But there is no data cable included, but still! The camera can be a little slow when you take pictures, and they don't really show off super-good, but it is not bad at all. You can record up to one minute of video that saves as a .3gp. The screen is GREAT! The colours are incredibly good-looking. The battery time is good. It could be better, but it's definetly not bad at all. The automatic flip-up button is really good! Although it doesen't feel like the spring will last especially long. The best thing about it is the price. It is really cheap compared to what you get.

  • this fone is buff

  • yes this phone comes with a data cable, software disc which ability to upload/download vids, mp3 ...

  • is this phone as good as all the specs make ot out 2 be??/ plz let me know and also does it have a facility 4 puttin vids and pics onto a coputer

  • Hell! I own a VS3 and i think that the speaker is not so good and now i am wondering if it is anny beather in the vs6? Very gratefull for replays!!

  • Hi everyone, does the phone come with some sort of data cable... so we can get pictures off the phone/mp3's onto it? Cheers.

  • does this phone have mp3 player

  • is the ringer lound and clear enough? please someone add a reply for this....

  • hello i like to know if this phone have flash ...

  • if anyone has a solutions for what happen whit the bluethooth and the infra please contact whit me in [email protected]

  • first im spanish and i dont speak english very well i bought panasonic vs6 this week and the mobil is fine but the bluethood and the "infrarrojos"( infrared in english i suppose)is very bad because i cant transfered some songs in mp3 and less too, about 320kb.at the last time my friend send my one song moreless 320kb by infrared and my mobil says that "the archive is soo much big to breed", and a said but the mobil has 32 mb memory. i dont understand.Sincerilly, the scrren of the mobil is very fine and the photograps are excellent but for the people hows like to send and recive archives by blueethot and infrared is not to advised.i think that to serve as some.

  • How's the sound quality and reception of the phone guys? Worried that its poor. More worried of that and the reception (get cut off in poor connection) rather than the memory issue. Any owners? Comment? (preferably compare it to another phone so its esaier to judge)

  • x-changeable cover for this model VS6?

  • I just got this phone 2day ! all i can say is its great. I was using the Sony Ericson T610 the last 2 yrs and finnaly decided to treat myself :) The screen is brilliant and the camera is fantasic at 2mega-pixels. really sharp and it prints nice on photopaper aswell. Ohh, and Sonic is very addictive....

  • this phone looks perfect to me. bluetooth,2MP,clear and big screen, one push button, slim, usb port,mp3 player etc etc. gonna grab it soon. but before that,i would like to know if there is any disadvantages of this phone. cause i dun wanna regret. :)

  • Hey! This fone looks great! But is it as good as it looks?

  • This phone looks sensational!!!!!!

  • Wanna buy VS6, now using X-70. I'm from Croatia, and our panasonic main dealer are announcing VS3 like a NEW HOT STUFF - COMING SOON!! But the funniest stuff is that the 3rd mobile operator started with work, and they have VS3 in their offer. So, I was thinking how much time will pass till VS6 come to our stores ....If anyone knows such an information, please answer me. Or if anyone knows is there VS6 able to buy in Italy or Austria...cause I can't buy phone without bluetooth and many other things which are necessary to me. Personally, VS3 have much, much better design and it looks great and more feminine, but the bluetooth fact is killing me. I would survive but I know that USB cable will never came to Croatia, so I can kiss my ass with that option. And of course, price of VS6?! How much is it?! Tele2 is selling X-700 and VS3 for aprox. 130. thanks to all. If anyone knows anything Pleeease, answer. At the and I'll buy x-700, when I lost my nerv.:(( Bye, Irena

  • Hi merel, You can buy this phone at THE PHONE HOUSE NL We have this phone exclusive till february... Greetz

  • 16 million colours 2 mega pixle i got this phone today its really good i think its better then the nokia n70 at a price of 100 pounds in uk thats really cheap the screen better then most phones costing 400 pounds

  • Hi, I'm living in the Netherlands and I can not buy this phone here yet. Can anyone tell me if I can buy it online, and where? Thank you!

  • I'm interested but still hesitating. Does the MP3 work or not? Cause with the Nokia 6170 it does not. Can you upload MP3s?

  • records in h263 3gp yes, ya can use headphones (stereo handsfree kit only though) screen size is on phone specification Sorry, but this phone is very slim!! Sit ti next to other flip phones of similiar features! This phone rocks! The auto open button though works on a tension spring, and doesnt feel like it will last very long... BTW thanks about mp3 file size, got em working now.... ;)

  • After a bit more researching it seems that its true size is 21mm thick..... So it isn't very VS ( Visual Slim ) is it, Panasonic ?

  • The panasonic vs6 is great..and its only 150 euros..and the 2 mpx camera ..super..the quality and price ..excelent.(0040724137905)

  • how good is da camera quality and how big is da screen and can you plug head phones in to it

  • So far the review are very positive. For this price you cant get anything better? But makes me wonder why the Voting is still so low. No body voting?

  • hi, this phone is the best BUT cannot get it to transfre or recieve bluetooth from or to my pc...please help by mailing me cos it doing ma crunch...... Still a cuchdy phone though...XXX

  • can some one tell me if this phone records video in 3gp or mpeg4 and whit what resolution.thanks

  • Mp3 files can received from Bluetooth and infra just fine. But the size limit must not more than 1MB. So it is not feasible to use VS series as MP3 player. Wait for next year for any Panasonic phones that have a full media player phone.

  • Well the phone looks mint, definately the first thing that struck me about the phone is it's looks. Features: Camera has very poor light sensitivity though, perhaps if a firmware update will allow the emotion light to work as a semi-flash (its actually fairly bright) also after pressing the button there is a very long delay, much longer than with other high end camera phones. Camera shutter noise cannot be turned off. So far, the bluetooth rejects all mp3's and mpeg4 movie files. Although listed as an mp3 player I have yet to get one to work. however the speaker is nice and loud and plays .m4a audio files very clearly. The sonic games is great fun to play, an exact recreation down to the last detail, apart from it handles a little bit fast which makes it a tad harder than the original classic was. The soccer game is a waste of time. Panasonicbox (URL is preloaded onto phone) is free and I've already downloaded many new thems, games and ringtones. The GPRS opf the phone is very good. As mentioned the bluetooth refuses mp3's, but also refues to connect to xfer any files with 3 different K700i phones. As yet no one knows why. No probles yet with other models. Also phone switches its bluetooth status to 'hide' automatically after a while which gets annoying during long file xfer sessions. Textin is nice and fast with no noticeable delay between pressing buttons and text appearing, and is quickly accessed by pressing left on the d-pad. Not tried to send an MMS yet. Another problem I have with the phone is the sim card/contact book management. I ofetn use my sim card in other devices, but this phone has no synchronisation feature to just update it's phone memory with OLY new numbers added. Instead you have to manually select the new numbers and copy them over yourself. Also mixes the phones memory numbers with sim card numbers, so I have quite a few identical entries. Battery life is so far proving good, just getting out of the 'new phone must use it every 5 seconds' phase, so will get a better idea of standy time when i can put the phone down for long enough :D More to come as I use it more. Definately reccomended, and the price is unbelievable! Would have liked to see PC-usb cable and simple handsfree/earphones in box with the phone, but can't complain I guess.

  • I just bought the VS6 and I'm toying with it now. I'm searching for software for the phone but I can't find any. Is there anyone who knows where to find it. Please e-mail me so I can download stuff to and from my VS6. Thx in advance. Ivar from Sweden.

  • well i just got the panasonic VS6 today and i must say its very good value for money!!..i was concerned about having a mobile without caller display but all i have to do is click the side button and it opens very quickly! also love the idea of being able to set it to read texts as soon as the flip opens! the colours and brightness of the screen are amazing!!! everyone i showed it to were very impressed with the quality!! also bluetooth was very easy to use..within mins i was tranfering music, pics etc from my friends phone and also my pc! love the fact that i can set my own message alert tones!!...the 2meg camera is very good and photo quality is excellent!..plus the price for this mobile is a bargin...result?? a top phone for a bargin price...panasonic have done an excellent job!!

  • Has the Panasonic VS6 got a mp3 player, on carphonewarehouse website it says that it has not got a mp3 player whereas this website says the opposite? Please please please answer

  • Hello again! Just thought of some other things that might interest you and for you to think about.. Right, the Panasonic VS6 comes with blutooth and 2MP camera.. The nokia advertised on tele which is over 200 is only 1.3MP camera?? The space is amazing on this phone.. 32MB But not expandable The nokia advertised on the X-Factor advert is only 4.4mb and 129.99?? The panasonic has a flip button to flip up the mobile for you.. The most expensive phone i know, doesnt have the feature?? The screen on most flip phone are really small and crap quality.. The Panasonic has a 16million colour TFT screen and is 2.2inches.. ?? Now what would you go for?? If anybody has the phone please email me.. [email protected] i need more info! Thanks!

  • Hello, i need help looking for a phone for Xmas. I want blutooth camera and what have you.. I went into the carphonewarehouse today, and saw this phone. I done a demo of it and i thought it was going to be very crap and boring because it didnt have no front screen. Anyway, He turned it on and it was stunning!! The amazing screen and 2MP camera!!!! It has all the features you want, like blutooth and games and infer-red. It was amazing, and for the price its great. Most flip phone (like mine) the buttons are really squashed together so hard to text, but this phone is brill at that too!!!It also has T9, which is proberly nothing to you, but have to use a phone without it for 6months, its hell! Its soo Good!! So my question is.. Has any one had the phone and had any problems with it? My mobile has been dreadfull!! Amazing phone once again people! Quick get you hands on it.. I know that will be the first thing on my list!! Matt, Please reply!

  • Just bought this phone today, the screen is indeed bright and clear but the bluetooth is so hazy, I couldn't do anything with it

  • which one VS6 or VS7 has been released last in the market?

  • the latest of VS6 information: you can see that the specifications should be ...

  • Your information was wrong, the specification as same as VS7 (Only cannot support the DIY-external cell)

  • why this phone have only 256k colors??? i think it has a 16m colors display.

  • When is Panasonic gonna grow up? Yes they came up with a 2MP camera. but still a 32 MB memory for everything in the phone????? It doesn't matter if it is made of diamonds. it won't shine if you don't give it light..

  • erh...the amount of colours degraded but the camera got better...design is good.but y no card slot?? i still prefer SA7...when is it gonna come out...?

  • me 2nd. same as the rest, no MiniSD, small 32M memory...
