I brought the Panetch G500 a year ago it was a fantasic little phone once i sorted out how to do the messeging features as my manual was in Koren. I was gutted that i couldn't put a picture on the front LCD. A year later it died, just wouldn't start again.

I had G500 for 1 yrs' time. I thought it looked pretty nice and slim but the functions and features are so very simple, somehow without any hesitation, I bought it at SGD $700 (without contract). And I regretted it immediately the moment I bought it on the spot, only to find out I was acting in a moment of impulse. It was a total waste of $$$ and found myself so silly to buy such a lousy phone. Now the phone is not working as the battery is dead and I can't even sell it off, it only costs less than SGD $40 now for the current trade-in value. However, I still like the phone because of its slim & sleek design, a very typical K-phone design. I just felt that SGD $700, I can easily get a good PDA like O2 or other excellent phones with great features & functions at last time and even for now.

Thanks TJ, That's explained everythings. Been 1 year using this phone. Quite ok. design is marvelous, compact, lite & extremely stylish. The keypad not really torned off. but the feature need to be upgraded. i dont want to trade-in coz the design is ok.luv it so much. bluetooth n infra would be delightful. I'm very simple person,just the phone cant send business card like nokia instead. The SMS cant be trace back after sent. the stop watch is kelakar... funny compare to others. til now have no time to use the composer for ringtones. just convert the midi song to mmf (ye ke..lupe la) format by saving the files in your pc. the camera okla... technology keep changing now day. nak canggih beli digital cam! what the market value now? I dont see this model anymore in market. obselete ke? happy to see many people use it all around world. Hi from Malaysia, KL. smiley :)

Yes chinese characters are supported if desired. No u cannot download more languages like French, the phone does not support additional languages. There is no BT or IRDA on this phone and to get files on and off your comp you have to have a link cable. Once you have a link cable plug it into the phone and the computer via a serial port then install the phones software which can be found on the pantech website then, once in the software application, click the browser icon at the top left somewhere to enter the browser which acts as means to transfering ringtones and pictures. If you upload a picture to the phone it will be stored in the downloads directory of the phone. Unfortunately, you cannot get a picture from the downloads directory as your wallpaper for the main or sub screens, only pictures captured using the camera can act as wallpapers for the screen. I bought one for my gf last year when it just launched. Both displays are brilliant, anyway, this is the reason I bought this phone. No problem with downloading or uploading pics and ringtones to pc. This phone support MIDI and mms ringtones (mms used in Samsung). But then the phone lack connectivity options, no IR, no Bluetooth. But then again, my girl is no techno geek so she just like it (I tried to convince her to trade-in her phone and get a more high-tech one, she refused).

It is said it can download from the pc but i'm sorry to say my Pantech is not able to do so. the pc does NOT recognise that the phone is connected. i tried it on two pcs, each one saying the same thing.furthermore, the fact is that it's not famous enough to benefit from the ringtone service of the network i'm subscribed to. Besides, i have problem with the WAP and the MMS. The phone says the 'service is unavailable' while on the contrary,it IS available on the network.TOO BAD!

i bought this hp last november(2004)..yup, it's stilll a baby n i luv it sooo much.. the screen is undeniably the best of all kind 256K colour. oops, the screens-internal n external are colourfullll...battery last long. camera is kewl. +flash +zoom..+stickerphoto.kewl.alarm?can set up to 5 at a time.ok.ringtones? loud n kewl.luv it when people stare at me when my hp rings..heheh.most functions are ok. the keypad is gud too. but the sms stuff..bcos it's from korea,most of the 'typing thing' is differ.made me spent lots of time typing..at first.inbox:oh,the sender's number comes out first,b4 the name.hate that cos i dunlike remembering hp numbers.no bluetooth,no infrared but got usb cable..overall,4 stars. i'm lookin 4rwrd to G100 anyway.. huhu ^_*

i bought this phone 3 month ago. so far so good.the picture taken is not really sharp but in term of feature it's quite easy to understand.1 more there is no report after send sms and i dont know iether it's delivered or not. for gprs and mms setting it's easy coz its a auto setting. it will 100% perfect if there have a bluetooth or at least infrared. i bought this phone for RM1480..less than 1 month the price drop to RM999...waaa..rugi....anyway, i enjoy to use this phone. now im looking for SE 700i and i still keep my pantech for second phone..

just bought G500, before was using Samsung phone. As compared to the previous brand, Pantech is slow in functions i.e saving new numbers, switching menu and etc. The sms typing system does not allow to permanently set to T9 inout mode. Also found that the overall systems are not user friendly as compared to samsung or nokia phone. Good point for G500-nice colour, dual LCD screen and digital camera.

I've bought Pantech G500 for almost a year now. So far it's a nice piece of hp with easy function but except that the camera is not that great if compared to Samsung. Even with the flash on, the picture is not that sharp or clear but as an overall it is consider a nice piece of hp. I like the stereo sound. It is not sharp noise like many other mobiles. So far so good !! Quite OK.

Nice display and colour, but it's not user friendly, especially when u want to write SMS. The phone book is also troublesome because u can't just press "v" to go to name list which starts with "V", instead you have to go to "Search by name" menu to get it done.

my hubby got me this mobile. quite nice n not too complicated. less feature specially when u want to link picture to SMS (I wonder HOW?).but there MMS, Wap feature ...quality picture so far - ok. u cant create folder like nokia. just utilize what in it. battery usage hmm... may b depend on ur usage. the dealer gave 2 battery. for time being still exploring the features.hope me buying for RM1500 worth the cost!!! :1

Well, this phone is quite nice really. The screen is superb, the ringtones are cool and the camera is cooler and with the flash, it is MUCH cooler. The one thing i hate bout this is the Battery life. It drops down fast when taking picturea and playing with the ringtones. With 2 large screens with 256K colors in both, the batt can loose its life quickly. The flash maybe good but its not that bright. Pictures still be very dark even when flash is on. On the other hand, Its quite a nice piece of red brick. lol.
