The reason for this might be that the battery has gone bad - in some cases even new batteries shipped with the Vega Racer 2 were bad from the start already. In my case, replacing the battery fixed several different problems with the phone freezing/rebooting spontaneously. Bad news: the battery Pantech BAT-7200M is not manufactured any more. Good news: you can buy imitations on Alibaba, and in my case these turned out to be very good!

Dear I have Sky A830L and I have just solved the 80 character limit problem on my set. All you have to do is to dial the code ##7593# and then the second option in that list (which will appear after dialing the code) is SMS prefer mode. Tap on that and then select "PS_Only". All done and you are good to go and can send longest SMS as you like. Only thing here is that its built in app will not work for this. You need to install "GO SMS Pro" to send long SMS. While writing this reply I am sending a 70/4 SMS (means 4 SMS to my self and it is working fine.

If you use other sim other than the one working,put it first on a device which will allow you to put your contact number on your sim (old Nokias).Input your number and then save as My Number.On my experience with my Racer,it needs to know what number your message is coming from.Hope that works!

I've read all the threads about this phone on xda website but I can't seem to find the best solution with the character limit with my present phone specs (as mentioned above). I can do CWM recovery, I have Root Explorer already (I can delete Korean apps), I have Go SMS Pro, but still stuck to 80 character limit. Is there a step-by-step instruction on how to solve this? Or any informative links? The phone is really great by the way, everything in it is great. The character limit is really annoying and I'm exhausted of reading the thread in xda site. Thanks!!

i am able to solve sms issue without any rom changes dear friends just try it once type ##7593# a menu will appear saying umts setting go to service domain meny are given in format of combined ps_only means PS = Packet switched, aka GPRS/3G, where data is swapped in packets CS = Circuit switched, the old-fashioned dial-up method, where you open up a fixed circuit for data. enter those correct setting again enter in sms prefer mode use the same settingas above in rrc security mode kick off those setting its done but u can fing more about rrc setting in google

*#*#9876#*#* and select assespoint >> set APN as normal.. and thn restrt the phone.. after restrt go to setting n thn global roaming and try to tick "use data roaming" , then goto roaming settings , select "auto settings" , the phone will ask for a reboot. See whether 3G will work then. mine is working now ..

I think you're talking about a different phone. This one has 1Gb of RAM and 16Gb of Internal Storage. It runs on ICS (Android 4) with a 1.5GHz Dual Core Snapdragon CPU - faster by 100/300MHz compared to Samsung's Galaxy S3 and S2 respectively. I think you're referring to the a770 (which is crappy), not the a830.

PLAN A 1. First, find an ancient phone, one that can write to the "My Number" area. Get a really old "dumbphone" such as an old Series 40 Nokia. BlackBerries work very well (I used a Curve). SMS problem can be solved very easily. just put your sim in any iphone or any nokia old set or china mobile which has the option of "my number" or "owner number" put your mobile no over ther save it and your sms will start working. Also you have limit of 80 characters so for this purpose install "GO SMS" from Google market and this limit problem should also be solved. you please advise me how we can use EDGE instead of GPRS

Sorry but no phone especially the S2 HD LTE can compare to this, the S2 HD LTE does not have the hand recognition built in. Its almost like a miniature xbox kinect ! And doesn't even resemble the Super IPS screen which this does. IPS means the biggest viewing angels and no colour loss from the screen so it always looks crisp.
