  • Still has this phone, the battery is low now and without connecting the cord, it not working now. I bought this in 3Q 2004 for 200 dollars. Still if there is any chance for replacing the old battery with a new one, then I prefer to use this old friend. Made in France.

  • For the people complaining about an electric shock (by answering a call while recharging)....EVER TRIED USING SPEAKERPHONE!?! OR PULL THE DAMN CORD OUT FOR A MINUTE!!! is that so hard? stop whining and get smart! The touchscreen is awesome, it wouldn't surprise me if they were the first with something like this in such a handy size! The software to communicate with the computer however is below standard and not logical to use. Another weird thing is that the phone seems to rate selfmade photos and/or soundrecordings as classified and unable to send...?? I wouldn't worry about the keypad-texting.. that is why you have the touchscreen keyboard.. it is quicker than most people can text I'd say.

  • After using this set, I've decided not to purchase philips set any more, though they have some good sets now. Once I used philips diga and that had given me better service than 755. 755 bad features: # Poor sound quality (when headphone not used) # Poor ring tone sound (cant hear in bus even using full volume) # It will hang if U use WAP # Bad keypad, hard to use, after 3 month use I got 3 button not working # Most provider not supporting GPRS setting for this set Still Im using 755 because of its touch screen, not suggesting other to purchase it

  • my sis has this phone,, the first time she bought it (about 2 years ago), i thought it's kinda cool with the touchscreen... Well,, i almost buy this phone,, luckily i'm not... actually this phone is not a bad phone,, the touchscreen is great but the most awful part is the keypad.. veeery hard to press, now my sis never use the keypad anymore,, always use the touchscreen.. Well,, for those who wants to buy this phone,, u better research more,, with the same price, u can get more with some other phone, but if u really like it,, it's a nice phone though... It has some cool feature with it's touchscreen...

I feel there is no need to make phones If it dosnt worth a cent...simply getting us spending on worthless model 755, which dosnt work properly, Infra Red is so poor, and most of all the electric shock thing is nasty. So I guess one thing for Philips is DONT MAKE MOBILE PHONES AND WASTE UR TIME. U guys dont know anything about the mobiles that are serving satisfaction to the customer...

  • Your phone looks great.Just one problem using it,the keypad is too flat that its hard to use the keypad in texting.Also, the camera is not that clear and transferring pictures to a computer through the infrared is difficult.

  • i brought this phone since december 2005. Guess what? After using it for 2 days, during i was charging the phone, and there was an incoming call, so i answered. the moment i place the phone next to my face, i can feel there is electric shock on the screen that react on my face. So without hesitation, I send it back to the shop. The shop dealer at first do not trust until he feels the electric shock. After repairing for 1 month, finally i got back my phone. Again it happen when i charge the phone and place the phone on the hearing position and being electric shocked. I went back to the shop to complain on this and i insist of a one-to-one replacement of the phone. but he says he was unable to do so, the most that he can help is only 50% refund. Therefore i choose to send the phone for the second time for repairing cause it will be a big loss if i choose the 50% refund. I did ask the phone dealer what issue on my phone? he replied there is some short circuitry in the phone. After getting backk and using it for 4 months, it happens again, electric shock when charging and answering the phone at the same time. I feel like throwing the phone on the floor. Is just that i am poor and only afford to purchase an econimic phone. Now i am seeking for new phone and wanna trade in this lousy phone as soon as possible. Guess wat not only that, the scroll button also missing. it drops of easily and now i am using the scroll by pushing one black joystick using my finger, and it hurts! Therefore, never buy Philips phone.

  • I bought a Philips 755 for my wife's birthday in January. She has a very advanced Samsung Phone, but since I got her the Philips, she seldom uses the Samsung as the touch screen system is so good and easy that has made the Samsung in which is twice as costly almost resting all day. This phone is a real Value fdor money. However they should use better keyboard to enhance it better. I recommend this phone to all.

  • Philips 755 is one of my favourite mobile.Im using it for 1 month.Excellent touch screen facilities, Infared is working very fine.I did transder photo, ringtones with another mobile like SE, NOKIA, SIEMENS via IRDA and also with MY PC.Its really working great.U can download java application via IRDA from ur PC.Photo call is another nice option and TAG option its simply great. Signal & voice is clear. So Philips 755 is a great mobile in cheap rate.No doubt about that.

  • the menu don't butters me , but one thing - it have alot of free space in the menu , like it has another menu options , for what - u know , the dots in the menu ... the main problem with myne 755 is the low life battery , it draines quiqly !

  • i think, its a good phone, with touchscreen, and not to expensive for the low economics,but icant see for cable data port, i think this series only infrared port, if we use infra red for transfering data the batteray will fast to empty.   • I forgot to say that I tried via infrared. Perhaps with USB cable the phone is seen in Windows as a removable drive allowing access to all files in it ?

  • Does somebody know if you can transfer ringtones and memos from the mobile to a PC thanks to the USB cable, and where can we find this ?? Because I'd like to put these memos on my PC but Philips 755 says the file is protected !! Another example of the bad design of this phone... Obviously the booklet explains only things like "to go in multimedia, hit ok key and then move with the arrows to multimedia and after you have to validate thanks to the ok key". The aim of a documentation is to go further than intuitive things... Philips don't understand this.

  • I put my phone on charge on my marble windowsill. I think the phone got too cold and the touchscreen function froze! I can't use the stylus on the touchscreen, it doesn't register - that's half the phone's capabilities down the drain! The handbook said that cold may slow down the phone's touchscreen function. So I carried the phone in my pocket the whole day to warm it up, and tried the touchscreen again at night, but it still wouldn't work?! Anyone else have this problem? The phone is only 3 weeks old and already I've had to send it back to Philips to be repaired!!

  • Hi everybody ! Phone hardware very nice (touchscreen, correct camera, smart look), phone software (menus) very badly designed !! Why a smart look for the phone and some menus with big icons for children that you can't change ?? And you can't even change the color of the menus (if someone could tell me you are wrong : it is possible to do this...) !! All my other phones, even my old Philips Fisio 820 did this... Very curious on a phone meant to be fun and quite "multimedia oriented". Another of the several annoying details: no sms characters counter. When you ask Philips by email they tell you that the question is too complex and that I you should call the hotline !! It's a shame, I'll never buy another Philips again. All these details really decrease the interest of this phone which is otherwise quite good, with the possiblity to manage your phone via your computer, transfer midis and jpgs, take photos, and the very good touchscreen, allowing to save time when writting sms. Does someone knows where I can buy a new sticker (like the one which is stuck on when you receive it) to protect my screen ?

  • After reading the reviews, I recommended this phone to my best friend. She loved it and bought it. I went back to the shop the next day, but it was sold out ! I have just found one on e-bay and bought it for myself yeay! Can't wait to get it. I have not come across another phone like it, with a touchscreen and stylus, it's like having a Palm PDA.   • i bought it about 2 months ago. First it was OK (eventhough there's no bluetooth) and I especially liked the touchscreen that enabled me to write sms real fast. Then, some problems started to occur. - it just hang without reason, the clock froze and no key could make the phone re-function again. I had to switch it off and on again. It happened like 4 x in a day! - suddenly the screen shows instruction to "insert your sim card" geez i did not remove the simcard at all and yet that message appeared agan n again i had to switch the phone off and on to make it work ;( this happened repetitively. .. anyway i had taken it to an authorized philips service center and the problem was gone.. only for two weeks. They are back again now. That's it, i'm gonna sell this one and get myself another brand!

  • I have used it for a month...Of course it has some of handicaps like the others have...I think the most important thing, 755 has high energy consumption...It must be economic...So the life of charge of the battery must take 2-3 days with 5-10 calls...Except this great cell...Especially touchscreen very very easy to send SMS or e-mail...I recommend it hardly...

  • Found out myself how to get pictures from gsm to pc, with Irda. Install Irda "eye" and Philips 75x modem (=gsm)on PC. Start on gsm infrared connection with PC (click: red ball, then laptop icon). Complete connection. Break connection by cancelling. Choose picture and send it by Infrared. Original gsm mobile suite software form May 2005 does not contain Mobile browser to do this. Don�t know about latest August 2005 version.

  • GPRS can be set-up in many ways: 1. for wap internet browsing (very useful if you want to use your Yahoo email account from your mobile) 2. for www internet browsing (with a PC, mobile phone is used as GPRS modem), 3. for using the POP3 email account with integrated email client 4. for MMS. All these functions are very pleasent to use due to of the touch-screen.

  • I just got this phone 4 days ago. It takes good pictures, it has what I need, I only have one problem and that is battery life. When mine gets down to 2 bars, about 5 hours later it shuts it self off until you recharge it again.

  • Phone looks good indeed! but feels a little bit vurnerable. Menu is a little bit slow, but touchscreen + pen works fine (although I don't use it much). Quality of photos is not very good. After 6 days of use, my verdict = 6 (It's nice to have a different phone but for the same money you can buy a better nokia or erricson)

  • After pressing the navigation button once, the grafical menu is started and can be operated fully by stylus (or e.g. fingernail) only. Includes making phone calls. Last news gsm IrDA connection gsm to PC: Philips support states: Not possible, excep by MMS. So all e.g. pictures have to be sent by MMS if you want it copied from your gsm to your PC.

  • Found out why I can not send by IrDA and not copy file (e.g. pictures) from gsm to PC: Part of the Mobile software is not delivered. Help file mentions Mobile Browser, which is left away in the software on the CD-rom and the Philips Website. Made request to Philips to deliver this. I am waiting for this now.

  • Yes, the touchscreen can be used for (almost) everything. My question: how can I get the pictures by IrDA from the gsm to the PC-harddisk. With or without the phonetools. I could not get it done.

  • I've been using it for some time and just to make sur: its internal memory is 7MB and it can be easily connected to a PC via Irda, I'm using it with MOBILedit! software and it works great. Touch screen makes it very comfortbale to handle.

  • to add to my previous post, the touch screen once activated by pushing down the scroller is very accurate and easy to use. It's one of the main attractions of the phone. The brightness of the back light can be adjusted as well. Another key feature is the option of customizing the hand set with shortcuts and setting 4 quick numbers that can be dialled litterally with a single touch.

  • It's much more than just a phone. I've been using it for last few weeks. If you use WAP for e-mails etc. then this is just the phone for you. Only drawback is the low battery back up if the touch screen is used too frequently. Probably because the back screen stays lit. Even then battery lasts upto almost two days. Otherwise, without a doubt the best phone I ever used.

  • It could never be outdated cause philips is the only producer of tft touchscreens for cell phones and no other manufacturer planned to bring mobile phones on the market with touchscreen capabilitys.
