Philips Xenium 9@9j - User Reviews

  • i like this phone....

  • hey i want to buy this phone because of long life battery. but how?

  • Sorry for the late reply: - battery life is still good for at least 2 weeks -- sometimes 3 - emergency number is set to 112 -- don't know if a firmware upgrade will allow change to 911 - texting is problematic since keys are so small and there's no word completion function (e.g., small dictionary that tries to suggest what word you're typing) - paid GBP 186 for unlocked phone - blacklist works ok

  • hey sunwukong , i live in canada too and was thinking about getting this phone, would you reccomend it? i was thinking of buying it off ebay just like you, and i am on fido, can you tell me of call reception, hows textings, how much did you pay, etc. anything would be appreciated ! thanks

  • This phone is very cute in looks specially the black (the one I use) The camera is not good as its just basic camera and there is no flash. The reason to purchase xenium phone is for its long battery life which is really good. Also it has a port for putting in AAA battery. When your phone is running out of battery power, you can transfer the power from AAA battery to the phone battery, with just a button and continue your conversation. The buttons are tacky and need some small force to push them. but overall a good phone as I wanted. Its a phone and not MULTIMEDIA CENTRE

  • Just ran out of power today -- just over 2 weeks normal use. Not as good as I'd like but far better than my previous phone!

  • tomorow I will buy this phone

  • In Canada, bought unlocked phone off eBay. In use for 4 full days now: - buttons are small, especially annoying on the dial & hangup/off - default screen is organized for messaging & music: i'd have preferred easy access to the contact list, for example instead of the music stuff - battery level is about 80% right now - seems to have a problem hanging up -- displays a network warning instead of terminating the call - really interested to see how well the blacklist works: esp. w/ the unsolicited calls I'm getting lately

  • the x520 accepts a 2GB microSD

  • Any ETA for Europe?

  • Hi people, Can anybody tell me what's the sound when using the headphones of this model,... 'cause I know from personal experience that on the one that Xenium 9@9k has, the sound is really bad!? CU

  • Never seen something like this before.GO PHILIPS!!!

  • O~! bad news or me~!

  • TOPP !! No Commmmmmmmeeennnt !!

  • Wow!!!!!!!!!!!What a bright idea by Philips..AAA battery on a mobile phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Keep making these AAA battery phones.........I am very proud of u Philips.Jai Philips..........!!!!!!!!!!

  • Guys SAD NEWS this mobile is not going to enter the market cuz they have got problems wih th external battery, its gets over heated and before this they have used the least powered battery. If you think im wrong then go to their official site its not even there and the company guys who are 24/7 online say that they have no plans to bring it

  • Hi/ I heard that it wont be coming out. Wjere did you get the news from? Thanks very much

  • WOW it lo0ks nice but takes a standid AA BATRY wow and co0l

  • sorrry guys, this phone has been cancelled so i dont think it will be out.

  • hmmm... i'm thniking about getting myself a 2nd phone, just i case sumthin happens with my primary phone. i'm considering either buy this, or get those xenium series that also made by Philips. they both have their advantages.

  • This design is quite interest for me. I will buy this model for my spare purpose~!

  • This design is quite for me. I will buy

  • This site is pathetic. Philips brings a very simple and clever idea that focus on how to get going when your phone is "low batt" and all I read are negative comments on how Philips should stop their business. A real pitty. The phone looks great, has plenty of features and will never let you out of battery since you can always get a cheap AAA wherever you are. I would like to buy it in the UK though.... I guess I can buy it online and get it shiped.

  • I want to buy one of these immediately! The only thing I wish is that they got rid of the lithium ion battery altogether. I hate those things! They always go flat just when you need them the most, it's very hard to buy spares and you end up having to order them over the internet, and they cost way too much to have a supply on them on hand. I can get an 4-pack of AAA or AA rechargeable cells for 5 bucks or so and always have a few spares on hand. I wish they'd just make the phone run on a single AA NiMH cell and leave out the lithium. I've been looking all over for a phone like that and this 9@9j sounds as close as it gets. So I will buy one as soon as I can, throw away the lithium cell immediately and just run it on AAA's from then on. Free at last!!!!!

  • nice. but is not available in our country. --------------bangadesh

  • for a cell advertised with batterys the life sucks takes like 5 hours to full then dies 2 hours later

  • this is a superb phone ive worked on this phones validation and tested it ... its gonna be out soon.. good buy but dont expect something extra ordinary

  • I like Philips for their long-life battery. But why don't they ever create a 3G phone ?

  • Oh Philips, Philips.....What a great brand back then, when mobile technology was simple...When things moved on, they got stuck in the past and finally they dissapeared from the market, and now it seems an unknown chinese manufacter still produce philips phones, of course its not really philips that your looking... In my opinion "philips" has two options: Either they return to Europe, with limited success and market share or they they ceased the brand once and for all, and become battery universal supllier and leaders in the production and research technology. I mean look at this phone!!! Nothing special, like the rest of "philips" crap they release until now, but look at the batteries!!! Great inovations, reaching amazing standby times like they always done. I still remember one of the first Xenium product range the 9@9, what a perfomer, with large standby times.... Please Philips, save your dignity, like you deserve, and focus on the real matter:)

  • WOW shoulda buy it!

  • Nice idea. Well done. Compare to Nokia DC-8 separate (expensive) battery charger....
