  • Qtek's designs are like a cross between HTCs and O2s.

  • this is the worst phone i ve ever had. the menu is a bit strange and not so easy like nokia or even motorola. After one month use i had a problem and the usb connection of the phone(is the same to charge the phone ,to conected with pc and headphones) broke off and i went to the service in greece to replace it.they told me that i have to pay 80euro cause its not a phone problem... i bought the phone 180e and they want 80e for a partr that they told me it cost 2e.Plus that it was not my mistake that the phone broke down.Q-TEQ = HTC in Greece has the Worst service...I told to them that i ll not pay for something that is not my mistake that brake down for a phone that i use only for a month... and the aswer was that if i dont take the phone (not fixed ufcourse) they have every right to keep it for them , and all this with a paer of a their loyer.NICE way to bilt new clients,,, Thanks Q-TEQ - HTC In greece!!! Does anyone knows where is the main offices of the company so i send a post leter with my problem from the greek htc - q-teq??? plese i would greatfull ..my mail is [email protected]

  • "ok, let me get this stragiht: It was a HTC TYtN THEN: A o2 THING cant QUTEK make a phone which is not copied. They are VK, in discuise." The phones are manufactured by HTC, and simply rebranded to be resold by mobile network operators.

  • are you kidding me lmao..purchase a palm over this..keep dreaming buddy..this phone destroys any palm phone

  • Purchase a Palm...You'll be better off!

  • ok, let me get this stragiht: It was a HTC TYtN THEN: A o2 THING cant QUTEK make a phone which is not copied. They are VK, in discuise.

  • I have Qteck 9600 (aka O2 Trio) and although is listed as compatible with TomTom Go, I am unable to get TomTom to recognise it as a phone that can access GPRS for Traffic Updates. Error - Phone does not support Wireless Network (DUN). I know that this version of PDA has Internet Sharing (Bluetooth Pan) instead of Wireless Modem. No problem pairing but is there any way to get Sat Nav to recognise PDA capability? Thanks

  • Is there any code or number that I can use to restore the Qtek factory default setting of my phone? Pls, I need somebody's help. Thanks.

  • HTC is the producer, spv, qtek, imate,o2, t-mobile just use the pattent and rebrand the handsets

  • yeah it is like imate and htc.. i think most of the recent communicators are the same... coppies

  • I dont get it.. Is the design of this company the same as I-Mate ! Its just exactly the same alllll phones !!

  • I have used SPV M3100 over half year. It's fantastic :) Emails, Internet, ICQ, MSN, 3G, WiFi etc

  • he is beautful

  • i want this phone now it sound brill. one prob is what is the price

  • Very disappointing. Sounds fantastic but I could not send email although I could receive it. During phone calls whilst I could hear the other person fine they found I was either breaking up or fading in and out. I was really looking forward to this phone but have now returned it in favour of another.

  • My one real problem with Qtek 9600 is that it does not work in Japan whilst it is supposed to be a quadriband. I purchased it on internet, the company told me to revert to the local provider who told me that probably something was missing and they were unable to help. This is very fustrating as I still have to rely on more traditional methods !

  • Does it have a good Wi-fi range or not? -how long is the wi-fi range?- and how many fps (flips per second)does the video recorder records? tx 4 your answer

  • it is a good one the only problem is when you open it it will take time to adjust the screen and some softwer problem i can add.

  • This is not a bad phone, butit has some very negative features which I did not expect: a) horrile tones and limited range b) the wifi transmitter/receiver is very very poor (I can work with laptop but the signal does not even appear to reach it) c) DHCP is erratic: you have to used fixed IP and d) it is very uncomfortable to use outside in bright light.

  • Great smart phone. Software can be optimized by producer. I can not use voice recording.

  • i have a query.what is the maximun ram supported by this phone.i want to buy it now its simply magnificent!!but i can't seem to find its memory limit.

  • The only thing which is very bad with Qtek 9600 (as with many Pocket PC) is alarm management. Never trust it if you don't want to arrive late in the office !

  • The camera is not autofocus. There's no autofocus on phones, rather what is called Hyperfocus. Which basically that everything from close to infinity should be sharp. In fact it is rather everything is pretty unsharp ;-)) Qtek 9600 has a manual focus, which is very fine, because now you will make sharp pictures !

  • in my previous message i was thinking about some sort of digital zoom. Does the qtek 9600 have some sort of digital zoom or is it just the 2mp resolution?thanks

  • i just read that the camera on this smartphone doesnt have autofocus. Does it mean that it does not have any kind of focus such as manual?

  • does anyone knows if it is possible to use palmone archives phone, schuddle... with this pda

  • this is absolutely AWESOME i love this phone i sell phones all day and got one of these because the features are brilliant

  • its a copy of mda

  • does anyone know if you can send things like pictures or mp3s from the phone by bluetooth

  • Also keen to know if this is the same as the Vodafone version, can you get a sat nav download for it?

  • Can anyone confirm if this is the same as the Vodafone V1605? Thanks R

  • I agree with the calibration issues..I have to do mine at least once a week, It bugs me but apart from that, i really like the Jasjam!!! I am hoping to be able to use different alarm tones but so far am unable to work out how to change them from the preinstalled ones- Any help would be Great.

  • I find the phone very useful and does the job. However I find it to crash a lot between applications, maybe thats a Windows error rather than a phone issue !!!! however the screen callobration isnt very good i have to re callobrate at least once a week or more otherwise the touch screen goes screwey which defeats the object !! so beware.

  • is this pda/phone able to display fullscreen movies at atleast 20 fps?

  • Does this phone support 2GB micro SD or greater ?....

  • This is just about the same as the cingular 8525. The cingular phone is a little watered down though. It doesnt have the camera in the front for video conferencing, but i am surprized cingular kept the wifi in it, because they took it out of the blackjack/samsung i600. I dont know what else they might have taken out.

  • Does anyone have a user's manual for this phone in English?

  • Does anyone know if it has a jack for headphones?

  • They are both just the same.

  • Whats differents between Qtek 9600 and i-mate JASJAM

  • has anyone put tomtom on this phone ?

  • Anyone knows how to set mp3, wma files as an alarm tones?? Thanks a lot

  • Hi to all, got this PDA phone as an upgrade, I must say it is the one of the best PDA phone around, but with few things, video quality is not good, battery life short, 2.0 MP Camera is just okay. In the whole if you are more looking for a WiFi PDA/phone, instead of MP3 player, camera or video it is the best.

  • I just wanted to know if you are able to type text using the QWERTY keyboard with only 1 hand??? I really like everything about this device but I sometimes hate the hassle of having to tap the screen or slide the keypad & have to use 2 hands just to type 1 word (I'm always on the go). I know you might tell me to not get a SLIDE phone/pda but I have to have all the specs of this device, plus I like the design & all. One other thing; can anybody post a picture taken from this pda? Also, how's the quality of the LCD? I dont know if I like the 65K colors...is the LCD sharp?! PLEASE I need a response from a user of this PDA.

  • Can anyone tell me if this is the same phone as the Cingular 8525

  • hello, whit this phone you can wath videos from you tube???

  • to anyone out there who own this phone: i'm aware that this phone video cam uses 0.1mp quality....am i rite....anyway could i know how was the video call using 3g wif this phone....can the people on the opposite see us clearly.....thanks william

  • 0.66 is the right version of TCPMP to use with this model. the video should be set on GDI driver. Many thanks to an unknown user of GSM Arena.

  • What version of TCPMP can I use. I have 0.81 and it's not working.

  • i have had a problem with screen alignment repetedly going out, even after reseting it. Vodafone said they would give me a second hand replacment. not to happy with vodafone but otherwise no problem with the phone.

  • yes it accepts business cards

  • I have not try the qteck 9600, but i'll definitely will get a chance to use it, since my dads company is issuing too all employees, by the way, it was not sold to dopod, it was invented by dopod. I have though, use the qteck 9000 extensively, for a period of time, and i got to say, it was very impressive, in a business man point of view. If u have use it to go online with 3G connection or wifi, then u know how fun it is, msn with ur friend at any place. Also use it as a gps system, that work pretty well. whatever, i have good faith in the dopod series. Since my dad is getting the 9600, i have the 9000 as a hand me down.

  • this the best phone in the world that have found however the only thing wrong with it is the photo quility does need to go a long way. I have brought in my phone thinking that it had a camara fault. Curtis

  • does anyone know if thid phone accepts business cards from other phones

  • Why you iventors couldn't collect all or almost all advantages in a unique handset. this model is better than Qtek-9100 only because it has a 2meg camara, but I think you factureress should invent one model which intergrate the whole functions( I'm sure that you can) of a perfect PDA to satisfy the demand of the customs rather than so much models which are, i think, simply, exchange the technic specifications belong them. A good PDA phone should have at least 256m flash memory, high speed processor, 2m camara, plus intergrated GPS except all others basic functions. I could not believe that you factureres have no capacity to do it. Please do make inoventions in the phone but not the brand and its models such as HTC TyTN, Qtek 9600, I-Mate JASJAM, O2 ...while all of them are the same.

  • Meh, HTC manufactured this pda/phone n now it is being sold by HTC as HTC tytn. this unit is also being sold to O2, I-Mate, Qtek n Dopod which is being sold to consumer as O2 trion, I-mate jasjam, qtek 9600 n dopod 838 pro. it is the same phone with the same configuration n specs.

  • fads it's the same phone m8 :>P

  • is this the same phone as the DOPOD has?? thnx

  • wicked phone

  • why this phone rating is way much higher than the i-mate jasjam and o2 xda trion which i believe these phones are functionally indentical?

  • Ok. To all of you asking questions. Now I have it, I can ask all your questions. 1.- The size is just the same as the Treo 650 2.- It uses Micro SD, NOT Mini SD 3.- The CPU is fast enough 4.- Video Excellent Quality 1024*768 5.- It does use USB headphone, it does not come with adapter but you will get one stereo headphone in the box. If you need more answers please let me know.

  • can any of the people that own this phone tell me whether or not the video quality is good? im hoping its much better than the older xda/qtek/htc/spv models..i hate replaying a captured video only to notice that the sound is much slower than the video feed..thanks

  • I heard the headphone jack is USB if this is true where can i buy an 3.5mm adapter? or does it come wit one?

  • Whats the Max Video Recording resolution on this phone??

  • fantastic phone. does anyone know how to change the green screen?

  • anyone know if the qtek 9600 can connect to wifi using wpa2? or even wpa? Thanks

  • Use predecessor Qtek 9100 now with mixed feelings. Faster CPU of 9600 and bettered software will resolve slowness(irritating in calendar-surfing).Agree that integrated GPS would make the ideal all-in-one tool, but the apparently still disappointing 2MP Camera (without autofocus and good flash)provide a bigger blame.Even my old Nokia 6600 is a lot better and easier. Tip: avoid the use of stylus, with fantastic QWERTY-boars you can do it all a lot quicker. Question:does anyone really use the handwriting-option?

  • It is already for more than 2 weeks available from the REAL MANUFACTURER HTC and it is the TyTN as well pointed out from a few guys. Check it out on the website and you will see price as well with FULL spec. It is the perfect size and instead of buying the P990 you can buy this instead as it is a Window based mobile as well. Since the REAL manufacturer is HTC why bother to buy it as an I-Mate. HTC is the main player from now on and who knows....may be they will stop producing it for I-mate!!

  • Question Does the Qtek support Lotus Notes Domino version 7 and up?

  • how come i see 2 kinds of tytn because the one for xda is the picture shown in gsmarena but the other one is another model so if i get either phones, would there be a difference

  • If I have an external GPS antenna will it work with this phone? can i install a navigation software by satelite?

  • This phone does have an IRDA Port and also a standard mini USB cable does fit and work to full spec of the 9600 The phone will be around the 550 mark, or for a Thia Import it will be about 450, but the keys will be mixed up and have extra Thia symbols. It is still fully fuctional though

  • I bought it in Luxembourg for almost 630. A few shops here still have some azerty and qwerty Tytns left.

  • hey to the person below me, im just wondering where did you get it because every ive searched, it is not out yet so im just wondering how much you get it for and where

  • I bought the new HTC Tytn a week ago and I'm loving so far. Excellent PDA Phone, solid, good looking case, not too big and offers everything one needs except maybe GPS. The Micro SD slot is also a slight disadvantage because Micro SDs are hard to get and currently they only offer up to 1 gb of memory. All in all, the Tytn is really worth it's money.

  • This will use normal SD memory-it comes with a 64 mb sd card

  • This phone is actually called the HTC TyTN. Up until now all Qtek and Imate phones were being made by HTC and 're-badged' by Imate and Qtek. So for every Imate, theres a Qtek and an HTC model as well. From September this year, Qtek will no longer be releasing phones made by HTC.

  • I think the type of memory used in the Qtek 9600 isn't miniSD, but it's microSD. The price will go up to 1000 euro...

  • HSCSD - High Speed Circuit Switched Data.... With 3G data speeds...CSD is not needed.

  • Can someone tell me what is HSCSD? What is the different for a phone with and without HSCSD? Thanks.

  • I saw some pics and i understand what you wrote, the keyboard and external desing is a bit different but the features are the same.

  • To the guy below: HTC Hermes is the name given to the phone by the brand HTC, HTC TyNT (Qtek 9600) is the name given by the brand Qtek, in a nutshell, HTC Hermes = HTC TyNT (Qtek 9600). But since HTC announced they wont produce phones anymore to Qtek, they will sell only by their own brand HTC by the name HTC Hermes.

  • so i read that this phone is now HTC TyTN or is it HTC HERMES and the model looks kinda different so im confused if someone can clear that up it would be great and also wen is this phone coming out!!

  • It's too bad the GPS is still not integrated like the motorola Q....

  • The phone is out now!!!.I can get it for $500 a pop. Best damn phone I've seen in ages. I though the Blackberry was the s!@#$%t but this has exceeded my most wildest imaginations. A great buy

  • this phone seems really nice and i want it but im not too familar with pocket pc so if someone could tell if there is a better one right now and if this is a keeper, how much is it going for?

  • i just got mine and its lovely.i cant do with out the qtek 9600.its the phone for everything. tariq

  • This phone has an infrared port!! And the navigation program tomtom can work on this device.

  • the phone is the best. you got everything complete.for purchase its lovely.

  • are you sure this phone has Hsdpa? Major pro if you ask me...

  • i got my new qtek 9600,and it is lovely..the phoen is really want a business man really needs.mine is in english and easy to operate. if you need an english version , you can get that from snippet, email add is [email protected] you will enjoy it. morgan cole

  • Can you get Tom tom software to run on this or equivalent

  • this is the phone i was waiting for :P its a real hero. do anyone knows where can i buy one in the internet like ebay or something?

  • I think that if it had a GPS embedded it would be the perfect device! And no, I dont want to add a card to do that. The slot should be available for swapping files, just like the old disk drive on a desktop computer. And linking through bluetooth or wifi, makes the bluetooth GPS just another thing to carry.

  • i like the only colour shown in reviews, i was expecting it to be launched in U.A.E in july or august.

  • This phone is already launched in Taiwan. Here is the link: Further this phone has an infrared port. I saw in the specs that it didn't have that.

  • hey people i really lik dis fone even tough it is a bit slow n dis fone can not hav every thing but what i want 2 kne is tht wen will dis fone cum out in da middle east lik in U.A.E... please can a kne??? n der is sumthin called da uPnP technology i kne idz not der in dis fone but wht is it??????

  • it can take skype but t-mobile wont let u use skype on web&walk But will on Web&Walk perfesional

  • It is network dependant if the phone will reconnect you to the GPRS/EDGE network, after a phonecall. Earlier models supported it as well, were it would break the connection on a phonecall, for then to re-establish it.

  • Is this the same phone as the HTC TYTN? Why is there no mention of the HSDPA capabilities? Boy if this has HSDPA I can't wait!

  • I dont get the thing about the voting result either... like, the O2 XDA Trion is the same but with 8.4 all over... and then the i-mate JASJAM gets like 7.9; 7.8; 7.6 respectively... wierd these voting guys... lol

  • it look nice but we are yet to see if this new divice wont disconnet the messenger as often as the mda those it and it will be interesting to see if this divice will keep you sign up on the internet after a phone call

  • for HSDPA there will be 1 version supporting 850/1900/2100 OR there will be 2 differnet versions? (1 for U.S 850/1900 & 1 for Europe 2100 MHz)

  • One of the best PDA phone that HTC have ever made... hoping it will come AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!! and of course... does anyone know this phone price???

  • Qtek 9600 has 1900 for US and perfectly works there. There is no IR function.

  • Anyone know if the 3g (the umts part not the edge), will work in the US? or is it 3g for europe only? the umts in US needs either 850 or 1900. Any info would be appreciated

  • Qtek 9600 is the same as O2 TRION. The Qtek gets a 9.0 and the O2 8.4. People are evualting imaging it how it can be its performance, its features and its theoretical design!!! Any logic to it?

  • Does anyone know when and if this phone will be released in the UK?

  • Youve got wrong info there is HDSPA and qtek got an infraport

  • "They should have upgraded the processor at least. It's far too slow to be used with Skype" 400MHz in this particular CPU is being reported as being quite nippy actually. It's a superb phone, not without problems - slightly non-typical memory slot is a problem for people upgrading from full-size SD devices, and no normal headphone socket is a pain, but of course my bluetooth headphones are perfect for this device. Non-standard USB is a problem too, but it looks like a standard usb may fit the slot anyhow? Who knows. Apart from that, this device is perfect for a small screen - VGA would have been too much to hope for, given the small screen size. Can't wait till t-Mobile release it in Auguse with web and walk.

  • hello, hey, what is better this phone or sony ericsson p990????? i know this have a faster processor, and faster wifi, but i dont know the camera.... what do you think?

  • This PDA phone best so far, however where is the speakers and is this phone loud...?

  • What's all the excitement about? They should have upgraded the processor at least. It's far too slow to be used with Skype...

  • you have forgotten to addition-write, that it has HSDPA

  • one of the ass kicking phone ever made..... i want this and i want this now...... !!!!!

  • Awaiting for this phone.it's fullfiled my all requirment.thanks

  • it looks cool.but when will it come out that is the main thing.

  • this phone has everything i wanted. hoping then that this would come out very soon!

  • I love this type of phone, does anyone know when this will come out.

  • First hahahah, good phone!
