Razer Phone - User Reviews

  • i cant flash stock firmware after unlocking bootloader...any ideas?

  • you should get it, i have already use about 4 month and so far i didn't get the "screen problem". really satisfied with the razer phone 2

  • you cannot do a free version just to get a 120hz display since your device is not compatible.

  • i talked to there support team multiple times just to see what my answer would be and both times they said that they will eventually be rolling out pie on the razer phone 1 they just never gave me a exact date may come right after the 2's update may not be until later in the year

  • Hello friends can somebody help and send me a link where I can get screen of this Razer phone Thanks

  • Does anyone know if the razer phone will get Android 9 pie? because I'm going to get it next month.

  • From what I can piece together is that Razer's HQ is in California but they don't have return centers in multiple regions, it might be only in Singapore which was why their customer service told you to ship your phone there and the long wait is just a standard estimate, the repair process and when they ship the phone back to you can be done faster depending on what part of your Razer Phone is having problems. Also if what you said is true, only Razer's technicians in Singapore and the factories they sub-contracted to have access to both the technical manuals and parts for the Razer Phone and Phone 2 which is why the phone repair shops in your country dared not even open and repair your phone despite they can buy the parts for it lest you want a phone that cannot stick back together because of the way how Razer designed it.

  • 4 months after purchase and the charger stopped working. 5 months after purchase the screen developed an issue, which i found upon research online that it is common with this phone- half the screen freezes and would not respond until you reboot the phone. 6 months after purchase the screen issue got worse and i had to press on the lower back of the device then reboot to make the screen work, which apparently indicates there is something loose inside (could be the lcd controller). tried to contact support for warranty claim but they want me to send the device to singapore and that it may take up to 4 months. tried to have it checked by razer authorized dealers here in manila but none of them would even let me demo the issue because their technicians said they are not familiar with the device. the screen issue is getting worse by the days as it is now happening several times a day, which forced me to order a pocophone f1. i won't deny that this phone is great- the 120Hz refresh rate is amazing. really, i compared it with the asus rog phone that has 90Hz refresh rate and the games and scrolling on the razer phone is way smoother. i am not a gamer, so i had my friend who owns the asus rog i compared it with to test gaming on this, and he confirmed it is better than the rog phone. likewise, the front-firing speakers on this beast is the best sounding i have heard on a smartphone. however, this screen issue is a big letdown. i am still hoping this could be repaired locally here in the philippines, but several repair shops i have consulted refused to even open the phone. i was looking foward into buying the razer phone 2 by may or june this year, but i'm thinking twice now. poco is my love for the meantime.

  • The charger just falls out and has a bad connection. The camera is garbage. The have NO customer service phone number, only a chat. So, plan on an hour for a simple question. Their customer service all around is garbage. The phone has no headphone jack. This phone gets 5 thumbs down!

  • I wish I was but pot is expensive nowadays. Well I think that the SD 835 should be quite power efficient as well. What really matters is that the transistors are as tiny as possible.

  • I ask what they are going to use the data for... and you respond with data mining... "Hey look at us, China! We use other country's data to mine more data!" #seemslegit

  • data mining and targeted harassment/hack for even more relevant data mining. what else?

  • Come on, quit dodging the question. What will China do with that data?

  • Huawei has already been in the news for secretly sending data to the Chinese government.

  • The phone has 4/5 stars on basically every internet review site. My guess is you either got a bad phone or you are doing something odd to it.

  • It also came out a year later. Sheesh

  • Ever hear of paying a thousand dollars for that ridiculous phone. My god the accessories for that phone are retarded. Just buy a console, a laptop, or a desktop if you want to game for real. By the time you bought all of the ROG phones ridiculous accesories you could have saved up that money and bought a gaming desktop AND had a different cheaper phone that will play games almost as well.

  • There's a big difference between sd810 and sd835. And by the way Directx 12 or any other version is not supported by Android. Where did he read that???

  • Motorola X-Force UK (USA Droid2Turbo)? Snapdragon 835? Intel DX12 chip? pass me the weed, brah.

  • ever heard Asus ROG phone?

  • comparing a phone with SD 835 and a phone with SD 625 that power efficient? are you high or something?

  • really sick this phone still not release here in kingdom or saudi arabia

  • yes, i have tried that but really it is not what i am looking for. see, samsung has this feature wherein it monitors your eyes- if the phone sees that you are looking at the screen it will not dim itself. i did find already a workaround- the apk for that feature was ported by a dev on razer's support forum and it is now working ok on my phone. thanks for the suggestion.

  • thank you for the suggestion, but i already have bought this and will stick with it for the meantime until the next galaxy note.

  • ram needs enegy? It can actually improve battery life. The 4000 mAh is more than enough for the slight drain caused by the 120 hz refresh rate

  • I also still using Note4... i played PUBG here for so many months until i tried using other phone & it makes a big diff. especially with the lag in the game, I still win sometimes(imagine my sacrifices playing on my NOTE4!hehe) I bought Xiaomi Pocophone F1(cheaper than any other brands with the specs it has 3X cheaper!!) just for the gaming & I will wait for NoteX to replace my Note4 and hopefully it don't disappoint us. :)

  • It has 120hz 8 ram and good components and for that components you need a lot of energy

  • Because of a badly made hardware design. The experts claim that the screen is always far too power hungry, even with the refresh rate setting set at 60 Hz. I have a Mi Max 2 and I can stay more than 10 hours doing tasks with the screen on. It is a regular screen without a very high resolution that takes little power.

  • Why is the endurance rating for this phone so low? It has a 4000 mah battery but still only goes 62 hours? What's the story behind this?

  • Note 9 has 8 gb as well as a snapdragon 845

  • This phone is still the most powerful in 3 major way, it being a gaming phone it is the only phone in the world at the moment to hold 8gb LDDR4 Ram, it like many phones has a 1440x2160p screen, but it's Hz is far higher than any other phone on the market, also all modern 1440x2160 phones are listed as 4k, but if you are a PC gamer you'll know that 1440x2160 is actually 2k, 3180x2160 or 4060x2160 is 4K, the sound and speakers on the Razer are also massively different to other phones, other phone utilize 1 small speaker, Razer has 2 in the terms of phone large speakers. Yes I am in the process of upgrading to a Razer phone, but if you compare my current phone to the Razer phone you'll see the many advantages the Razer phone has, my current phone specs: Name: Motorola X-Force UK (USA Droid2Turbo). Casing: Triple layer hardened screen with an Anti-shock aluminium body and a fabric back for comfort to hold. CPU: Snapdragon 835 2.35ghz Octo-core. Ram: 3gb LDDR3. Sfx: built-in basic through a single small speaker. Gfx: Intel DX12 chip. Screen: 5inch 2, 1440x2160 100hz. Battery: 3650mAh. Camera: One 21mp lens that supports 4K UHD HDR. Charger: Micro USB Fast Charge Unit So as you can see the Razer is a pretty big step up from what I already have.

  • Eheh~ part two, in the developer options you can set your screen to never turn off unless you intentionally ask for it, Do note that not all phones have the feature ^^;

  • If you don't mind degrading to a midrange. Or use last year flagship, Huawi Mate 10/P10 Plus will do quite the job. The keyboard does not natively include access to the clipboard (but it can after fiddling a bit with settings), there's a step count. And there is everything that you need INCLUDING 3.5mm jack, Memory expansion. And a beautifully preforming camera.

  • Was compelled to buy this yesterday to replace my trusty old Note 4 that suddenly died on me 2 days ago. I have decided to still skip Note 9 (after skipping also 7 and 8 because I don't see any sense in the curved screens) and wait it out with this phone until Note 10. I am still weaning off my 8 years with Samsung and I admit I find the almost vanilla Android experience rather lacking alot than the feature-packed Samsung UX. I just wanted your recommendations on equivalent apps of features that most Samsung smartphones have (no flashing options, please): -SMS app with message scheduling and frequent phrases -keyboard with access to clipboard and shortcuts to phrases -something to prevent the screen from dimming while I am still looking at it even when there is no activity after the set time for screen off -a way or an app to display stepcount on the lockscreen -a way to display weather on the lockscreen Thanks for any information you can provide.

  • even the auto-correct seems to be malfunctioning. lol

  • I have the razor phone and I can see the screen even outside so I don't know how you having issues with seeing or if your here just to leave unneeded bad rep

  • This is the only phone in 20 years that I can’t use just because I can’t see the screen , beside of weird lines on the screen you can’t see it even in the house if you got the blinds of the windows open , are you kidding me razed ? Paid 600£ For it sold it for 300 with extra work and 12 accessories, this phone I will not recommend even to my enemy YOU CAN’T use it just understand is not meet the minimum 300 nits the screen , I received 2 updates in 8 months, if you unlock it with the pin because the fingerprint is not working and use it on Facebook let say for 10 mini is getting hot and the screen it will dim even more , i use a bottle of water near it to cool it down i am not joking, please understand this phone is not ready for prime time , I changed 3 of this they give me replacement every time , last time they said they loosing money with me and I sold him , this is a joke phone , the battery is shit , the cable for the charger got killed in 3 days ,support is not there

  • Format your phone

  • After 8 months of usage, my opinion and suggestion is to avoid this phone if you are unwilling to deal with the minor issues as this phone ages. First issue would be the fingerprint sensor, it works only 70% of the time, it is better off typing in the pass instead of waiting for it to read. 2nd issue would be battery life and temperature, 1/3 times this phone drains battery when idle very quickly and overheats very quickly when playing high resolution games. 3rd issue would be the 120Hz display. The display often have glitches where the bottom half turns blue for a second during Night Time mode, bad mark for Razer there. The 4th and most annoying issue would be the "gaming" processors. Even with 8GB of RAM and Snapdragon 835 under its shell, games with particularly 2D and basic graphics tend to lag, especially when the phone is warm. Overall opinion is there is some power to the device, but as it gets older, it starts to become human and turn weak.

  • Black Shark might not be launched O/S china.....

  • Black shark is much better option for you

  • Oh you shouldn't have bought this phone but you are too unlucky to get a phone like this........

  • My experience with this phone and customer support is a nightmare. Lots of hardware issues, updates are late, deactivates settings preferences, fingerprint reader stops working, screen is very dark and clicks randomly, battery drains fast, gets really hot while browsing and extremely hot while gaming and charging, overheating is a problem even when idle, there is an ugly multitouch bug, bluetooth fails after updates, camera is terrible and blurs sides, front camera works wrong, NFC works when it pleases, usb-c adapters are not recognized, random shutdowns, stereo speakers do not work well (one is bigger than the other), the vibrating mecanism sounds like something is broken inside, mic volume is really low during phone calls, GPS works when it wants, cheap aluminum body bends (yes, it bends) and pops out the plastic (yes, plastic) speaker covers, the USB-C dongle is a joke, it wobbles while connected in the USB-C port and loads/unloads the driver constantly, reboots the device and sometimes it produces a static sound, the dolby atmos works when it wants, portions of the screen are unresponsive, while in roaming it simply won't let you manually select network... please, take care of you rmoney and check other brands with more experience manufacturing phones.

  • atleast its better than any phones at 2017 and almost eqaul spec in 2018 phones

  • Bro, keep in mind this is a 2017 phone, not a 2018 phone

  • Rog phone are better

  • This phone works fine for mobile gaming aficionados considering the price compared to ASUS ROG phone which has an astronomical price figure!!!!

  • Asus ROG phone is much better that this razor phone .. the appearance , performance , price way better !! Goodbye Razor ..

  • and not to mention GrEaT battery life for gaming m8

  • Blackshark have Snapdragon 845 and 128 gb memory and 20gb mp camera but The razer phone have more pixels and colors ,120hz refresh rate , better audio , and a micro sd witch can fix or add more storage

  • Refunding two razer phones now. They have hardware issues, the top inch of my screen didn't work properly for a couple months, then software issues with bluetooth and breaking tethering recently. Support is awful, doesn't follow UK consumer rights unless you fight, then leave you hanging for months. Been trying to return for 6 months now.

  • Well, im fall in love with razer phone. The display, audio and that boxy-shape. But tell me, is razer phone good? Or should i pick black shark or red magic instead? I wanna make sure that my purchase wouldn't dissapoint me

  • Samsung and HTC both have 3.5mm jacks

  • Razer phone is like a razor blade, cuts your wallet half. hahaha :D

  • As always, Razer = Overrated, Overpriced.

  • I have just bought this phone and i really like it although the built in camera app is a bit lame, i downloaded Lineage OS's 'Snap Camera' from the XDA developers site and it works excellent, picture quality is amazing! And it has lots of settings to play around with, Google Camera 4.4 also works well but doesn't have loads of options like the Snap Camera does. Get it here:

  • black shark will not be launched outside of china. It runs heavy customized China version of android with no google playstore.

  • So I've read the stock camera app is no good, barely any settings and image quality is poor. But if you install and use the Google/Pixel Camera app, it is better. My question is, what about other camera apps on the playstore? I haven't been able to find any topics or anything about people testing other camera apps on the playstore. Has anyone tried Open Camera, Camera FV-5, Camera Zoom FX, etc on the Razer Phone?

  • Yes. Camera is amazing when you will install a pixel camera app. Battery is amazing. Speakers also.

  • Keep your cash against this. Blackshark with same battery but with the latest SD845 with 128GB ROM is cheaper.

  • Endurance rating 62h? Naaah, ill keep my cash....

  • outdoor brightness is lacking but everything else in that list is legit

  • get back to the kitchen thot

  • Hi guys, I want to buy Razer Phone seriously but I want to know is that phone work as daily drive , battery life , out door screen brightness and camera and speed . All theses works perfectly???

  • Thanks , I don’t even use headphone jack

  • All the problems that u have are only about the earphones.... Man... Almost every flagship phones don't have earphone jacks anymore

  • On 3 in UK the phone has a software update to use VOLte

  • Yeah bro, even MKBHD awarded this phone for having long battery life. 62hr endurance just seems confusing.

  • GsmArena you got to be kidding me...62h endurance rating?! WTF?!? This phone just obliterates all my previous phones (counterclockwise: S7edge, Umi Plus E, LG G Glex 2, LG G Flex 1, Motorola Razr I and so on...and none of them had "weak" battery life). This terribly confuses people!

  • Can't do hybrid dual sim.

  • You can just order it online in Amazon

  • I was planning to get this, but got disappointed as this is just a single SIM :(

  • Will it ever launch in India?

  • iPhone 6s

  • Anyone got update the new software, is there any difference? Thank

  • I just ordered it from Mrbabu it was 250kd free shipping

  • razer phone does have otg otherwise the headphone dongle would not work, tested with anker usb C to usb A female adapter, also tested with aukey usb c to micro usb adapter with otg function, aver media ew310 android digital tv tuner is working, also has mobile hyper link aka mhl - since with this cable ''CHOETECH V-CH0018 USB Type C to HDMI Cable'' it ouputs video to my asus s1 mobile pico projector while working on battery, just audio seems to be kinda silent compared to phones which have micro usb

  • @Seahorse : Trust me I have MARSHALL bluetooth headphones, and I would rather use their built in headphone jack to connect directly to a device. Bluetooth is not reliable, if I connect it to 2 different devices, I have to manually go and unpair it from one of them if I have to somehow use the bluetooth of the second device. ETC ETC.... I would have loved to buy this phone but no headphone Jack No buy.

  • 🔥

  • Here are the reasons not to buy a smartphone like the Razer which does not have a 3.5mm jack: 1. Wireless earphones are expensive, have mediocre audio quality and batteries that requires regular charging or replacement. 2. The USB-C earphone that is supplied with will only work with the phone and not other devices. 3. When using a USB-C earphone, you cannot listen to music and charge the phone's battery at the same time. 5. If you want to use an earphone that requires a standard 3.5mm jack, you will have to use an adapter. It is inconvenient to carry around and easily lost. They are not standard items that you can just go into a shop to get. You will have to buy one from the same manufacturer, probably at a steep price. 6. You can wear out the USB-C socket by continually plugging and unplugging the earphone. 7. If you play games on your phone in landscape mode with personal audio, the USB-C earphone will get in the way of your fingers. After all that, there is not a single advantage in a phone without a 3.5mm jack, either in sound quality or space saving despite manufacturer's claims. The only reason seems to be in aping the iPhone and being thought cutting edge.

  • Pictures taken with this phone are EXTREMELY soft around the edges of what you are trying to take! It's like a camera on a phone from early 2013.

  • Any one tell me about camera on razer phone

  • Works perfectly.

  • Has anyone tried uhd movie from Google play and does HDR video on YouTube work?

  • Any idea where to purchase this device in Middle East specifically in Saudi Arabia please. Thanks

  • If you like play a games (I have Razer Phone) and you like 120hz (it is really big different) between 120hz or "standard frame rate" 60hz like in note 8. I can recommend you Razer Phone but if you don't like phone without Jack you can buy like me headphones on Bluetooth ;)

  • just go for note 8 coz this phone goes for trending useless no earphone jack.

  • Guys can you pls tel me which phone is better for day to day work, Razer phone or note 8 ....!!!!!!

  • this thing iz a beast *fire emoji*

  • The nokia c3, a phone from 2010.

  • what are you talking about ?

  • Get out of 2010, that wasn't even a good phone back then...

  • LOL VoLTE is a network provider feature to have call over LTE and the phone it self this will start in Australia.

  • Well, getting showcased at CES and attracting so much attention is one step closer becoming a reality. Also, why do you think it will never be real? Just curious.

  • I am very optimistic about this phone. One thing that I was not able to find on the Internet is whether it supports VoLTE (hd calling). Does anybody here knows something about that? Thanks!

  • 1) Enquiry when is the software update available for the Razer phone (esp: camera...) 2) Any idea where to purchased the Razer phone casing in Singapore... 3) Any free gift for the Razer Phone promotion purchased in Singapore @ Singtel Looking forward for this phone Thank

  • Project Linda is not out.. its a "concept" that is a long way from being a reality

  • With Project Linda out right now, this phone has become an even more attractive option.

  • you just gonna have to believe in possibilities

  • I'm just using Nokia C3 to be safe.

  • You mean based on your knowledge? What are you even trying to say? Finish your statement. I may be a grammar Nazi here but this is ridiculous...

  • micro sd xc standart supports micro sd up to 2tb while currently biggest one is 400gb from SanDisk

  • Base on my knowledge. . .

  • Ok Mr.Crappy Grammar. What exactly will China do with that data? Hm? Will they try to make phones based on our interests? Will they tune ads to our liking? That isn't exactly a bad thing.

  • Ekhem, 750€?...

  • 120 refresh rate is a feature to refresh the pixels on the screen at 120Hz every 1ms so it will increase the smoothness of the display reduce flickering on games but it doesn't improve the frame per second of a game , fps must be handle by the chipset the better the cpu and gpu the better fps will be, looking forward for the next snapdragon 845, 865 with better gpu

  • 120 refresh rate is a feature to refresh the pixels on the screen at 120Hz every 1ms but it doesn't improve the frame per second of a game , fps must be handle by the chipset the better the cpu and gpu the better fps will be, looking forward for the next snapdragon 845, 865 with better gpu

  • And I also love your nickname

  • Love this phone, waiting for it to release in UAE.

  • For the people saying that the 120 Hz is not giving any benefit on Android... you are wrong. There are some games at that frame rate, and just watch several YouTube of people that actually have or had the phone, they said the smoothness of the phone is something that they never experienced on an Android.

  • Good phone. Just not for everyone. This phone is for games. I'm not a gamer, tbh I don't even have a single game on my phone, but my gamer friend really enjoys this phone. I could say stuff like "camera could be better" or that it doesn't look good... but that would be missing the point of why this phone was created.

  • razer website says miro sd card up to 2tb please change you say it can only handle up to 256gb

  • You are all missing the real reason this phone exists ... EMULATORS :D Pokemon red in 120 REFRESH RATE WOOOOO!

  • For God's sake raZer never announce the phone to be a DSLR replacement, its a gaming phone not a photographer phone. Its really smooth when i tried to play mobile legends or AOV. so why so haters thats what the phone supposed to do, for gaming

  • You dont even own this phone, i tried it on mobile legends its 119fps, you lier

  • Some update about camera. Just went to store and compared my Axon 7 and razer phone camera angle, and I have to say that razer wide angle camera is unbelievable narrow. It's really sucks. Phone is OK, but they really shouldn't call it wide angle.

  • Razer so called wide angle camera is 78, to compare with LG v30 120, so it's not that wide at all.

  • microsd 256gb or 2tb?

  • They see a dark screen phone and move on.

  • You're forgetting that this is Razer's first phone, considering this, it's actually one solid phone. But don't get me wrong i would personally never buy it, but i know that this setup appeals to a lot of people.

  • Man all that add on is pure waste of money. Water proof add on cost like 100 eur maybe more depends on device. Waterproof case from alliexpress cost 2 euros. You can have a gorrila glass 1000 but when it falls on concrette youscreen crashes so 3 is enough with a screen protector for just 2 eur again from alliexpress with hardeness 10H. And 4k screen will drain your battery in like 30 mins so its stupid add on for no use. In 60 inch TV 4k screen is worth but on 5 inch phone you will see no difference so its totally waste of 200 eur for useless add-on. But brainless people never understand.

  • Sorry but that's rubbish, I'm from the UK and I'm all for backing a British company but I can get a XZ Premium cheaper than this phone and the Sony has far more to it than this effort from Razer, although I can't knock them for a first try but ateotd the day, it's a niche phone for gamers. Do people actually seriously game on their phones nowadays. I mean apart from the wack camera and dodgy screen, the phone comes with Gorilla Glass 3 for pity's sake. Then that's without going into Sony's 4k screen, slow-mo video, fastest updates around, IP68 waterproofing etc etc. Even on this site it has the Sony 90 euros cheaper.

  • this phone is very fast and I like the touch of the phone eaacfahcghbeadib. I like the smoothness also

  • There's a difference between FPS and refresh freq of the display.. It's the same in PC world, f.e. I have 144Hz monitor and hitting 300FPS in some games.. On the coinflip, some people have 144Hz and hitting 60FPS. The problem is not in phone, it's putting up 120Hz refresh rate all the time, but actual games are locked on 60FPS.

  • It's variable refresh, not a fixed 120hz, there's no downside.

  • you don't need to pay to play moba based gaming app...

  • Just asking, how do these speakers sound compared to lenovo vibe x3?

  • there is reason why many big player in Smartphone business never implement high refresh rate..

  • Gaming Phone? Lolol.. Gaming on phones, is it even popular anymore? All games has stacked up in-app purchases and Pay-to-win solutions. They all suck. Can´t play many mobile games today without shelling out money to play.. Nice gimmicky phone, but mobile gaming is not really that hot anymore.. is it?

  • i have root the phone and check the frame per second for every games including AOV, Mobile Legends, etc and install GLtools. The FPS is showing only 59fps it will not give you 120fps. Don't get fool with this phone. Better check Oneplus 5T.

  • People just walk away nothing else happens. Or they come to see what going on. Maybe they buy the same phone when they hear how good repro it have.

  • Is it good for watching HD movies ???

  • No OIS ? it's bit shame

  • I know this phone is mostly a gaming phone but there's always going to be that one idiot in Best Buy who sees this phone and buys it because it's shiny and find out that the camera is bad. So razor should also put at least a decent camera in their phone to not give that one idiot a bad experience with the company.

  • Try to use phone speaker at max volume in a public place . See what happens :))

  • Yah, it's matter. Your data has been collected.

  • Yes, it's matter. China spying on us.

  • A bit disappointing there's no Oreo out of the box for a phone released in late November 2017. Seems like laziness to me. Also, MKBHD's review said that the buttons aren't very good.

  • Why does it matter? The phone is easily the best phone of 2017.

  • It doesn't matter, razer phone and genuine is the same even if it is assembled on mars.

  • Is this assemble from China also?

  • Heres 1 example.. 120hz refreshrate can be utilized in a game called world of tank blitz which has settings for 120 fps..

  • Wow, I only just noticed that sub-900 contrast ratio. That's going to look super ugly to anyone with eyes adjusted to amoled or even regular 1300:1 LCD screens. Irredeemable. This thing is a dud.

  • In most respects this is a really mundane phone, apart for that irrelevant 120hz spec which won't ever be utilized on account of the QHD screen (1080p would make more sense if high frame rates are the goal). Can't say I understand the hype.

  • Phone is for gamers but its a flagship with flagship specs. And yes i like to speak talk comunicate etc. And A11 bionic should be great but benchmark tests arre for idiots because every user with at least some grey cells in brain core knows that he grow up from crying why my app loads 3 seconds if my mate load the same app in 2 seconds due to A11 bionic. Or similar example.

  • man oh man, you have replied to almost everyone here in this thread and most of your responses are one-sided, you gotta realize that this phone is for gamers, flagship specs but FOR GAMERS, NOT PHOTO NERDS, iOS better than Android in some aspects but Android is better than iOS in most, only Moto Z Force and Sony XZ Premium has beaten A11 Bionic, since Samsung is all design and perks just like LG, above all, these top brands mentioned has their own ups and downs for performance, but leave Razer out of the contest, as we said, this phone is for GAMERS, MADE BY A GAMING COMPANY

  • The most awaited phone for gamers. Oh Yeah!!! :D

  • How dare they release a gaming high end phone with 700 contrast ratio ? The screen will look like a washed out color photo... There should be a regulatory body to prevent such mishaps ...

  • When they make a 6.5" version @ 16x9, i'll gladly pay $699.

  • because lcd can be boosted to 120 Hz

  • We need a dual-sim version of this!!

  • Btw, You mindset is a bit narrower than I expected,You are criticising just because those phone brands are of Asia's. And I was suggesting not forcing you to buy These phones. You are saying you want quality! And you expect it from Razer phone! lol you don't know what you're talking about. And at least don't question me! Im much more than regular user that might thought I own 3 smartphone shops. So I everyday I get to know more about different types smartphones and tabs than you do.Whatever said about Razer phone wasn't biased.I just did a side by side comparison with S8, 1+5.

  • Everything is cool except display, wtf, LCD, I better choose iPhone or Samsung - Super AMOLED, quite beatiful.

  • Yeah, I like this phone too because it looks a lot with Sony's monolithic design. The main reason I like it for. Too bad they don't ship it to my country which is from Europe and EU. Sorry Razer, I'm getting the red XZP because I cannot buy your phone. Tough luck!

  • Man the camera is good enough and this is gaming phone. if you want overall good phone Huawei Mate 10 pro is an option. OR OP5T. Rest of the phones are targeted for a certain area but not to be overall best in any area / department.

  • Agree but rather Vertu which is adroid phone than Apple X with a bottom green line on screen problems with a headphones problems and with IOS bugs and laggs which they never properly solved. Apple X or anything from Apple is much worse option than having no phone at all.

  • * No 3.5mm audio jack? I don't give a damn. * No increased resistance to water or dust? I don't give a damn. * No wireless charging? I don't give a damn. * Battery life maybe not so great, but the options/adjustments are there in the first place. * Ugly design? Judging the book by it's cover. Forms follows function. I would gladly buy Razer Phone and use it as my new daily driver and gaming in 2018, for now my current phone is Samsung Galaxy S8 (Exynox).

  • I'm from Sony Xperia Phone but now please take my money Razer Phone.. please please please..?

  • budget wise Oneplus 5 is a much better choice. Its about 200$ cheaper!! Its one of best camera phone around. Much better than the camera of Razer phone. And not to mention the display, which is absolutley gorgeous! whilst Razer phones display looks dull dim with washedout colors in comparison . And the great battery backup and super fast charging are one of key selling points of Oneplus 5, that's been said. And now we can even get a get Galaxy S8 around 600$. Then there are Huawei Mate 10, Htc U11.So I don't think Razer would be a smart choice just because it has fancy speakers and 120Hz display.Weaker battery backup, dull and dim display,Very very Poor Camera makes its price a bit too hefty.

  • The vertu is such a bad choice $9000 for that price you get: - An iphone X 256 $1149.99 - An american express platinum for $550 a year with concierge For 14 years...

  • Razer is better and for better price. But if you dont know what to do with money get Gresso or Vertu. Vertu is better. Love Concierge a special unique app just for Vertu phones.

  • Man i am from Slovakia and Rezr is UK company. Same as you to Slovakia to Bratislava capital city of Slovakia they wont ship anything this year. And i have either to buy from UK by traveling there or buy from Germany by traveling there. Or wait untl it will be for sale at Amazon but as long as they dont ship to Slovakia my options for amazon purchase are zero. To be honest i own many razer products and my first mice lasted suprisingly 12 years. And could last even more but my GF had a bad day and she trhrow my mouse against a wall. Mice was still working i mean optical sensor, but buttons not :-) Now i have Razer Naga League of Legends edition for 3 years and its best mouse i ever had. So i am expect a lot from this phone. Hope u understand.

  • In case you can afford: If you are a Gamer, then your phone is Razer Phone. If you are a update thirsty, then Pixel 2 and its XL sibling are your phone. If you are a typical end user, then your phone is one of the available android flagships. If you are a business man, then with today's criteria your phone is Note8. If you are not aware of being limited, then iPhone 8 or 8 plus is your phone. If you want to say that you can spend +1000$ on a phone, iPhone X is you phone. Nothing more ...

  • Ikr...... My friends who runs ios 11.x.x versions have so many bugs. Some of them can't play video in files. Some of them have bugs on notification bar. But for sure all of them facing battery problem. What a shame, you have to spend massive amount of bucks. Btw, another most embarrassing thing is you can't download apps that more than 150mb and also when you want to download software or os updates even you have 10gb internet. Last but not least, every iphone users are chained to wifi and itunes.

  • To be frank, even though I live in Europe, my country is not listed so it will cost more than 750 USD. I have managed to find the XZP for 585 USD which is an awesome price! I have a 4 year old Sony that is still very fluent and still don't feel I need to upgrade. That's how good Sony flagship phones are. By the way, are you sure you don't work for razer? All the comments here are yours..

  • 100000000000000% agree

  • But this is an flagship. It have a flagship stats and have some features that no phone froma ny other brand have. Like THX certified speakers 120 refresh rate display and so. Its a great device but you are too blind to see.

  • Man why head phones when you can run this loud. Razer makes best speakers so far in this phone and they wanted that all people will hear incredibly good sound. So this is pros not a cons.

  • All that are stupid add-ons literary not needed. FM Radio you can download from google store so whats your f.king problem???

  • Man phone is great enough and it have some add-ons which doesnt have any other flagship and also as a first phone of Razer it have irresistible price for what its offers.

  • Agree. Xiaomi Mi6 is as good as any other flagship for just 400. But stupid people always drown in lake of own tears.

  • Man 4.2 or 5.0 thats not important as long as there is any the difference is small. Anyway if other phone doesnt support BT 5.0 its no reason for you to have it here. You always transfering data with the maximum possible speed of the slowest device.

  • Iphone X looks bad anyway its just stupid ugly phone for horrible money and with nothing special worth the money. Shame for apple.

  • I think they will stay as they making their own laptops. Maybe they add their own games soon :-)

  • Man 3 or 5 doesnt matter when your phone falls on concrete it will break anway. Get Moto X4 or Z2 force with Shatterproof display if you want unbreakable front glass. Vise people use glass protector.

  • Because Snapdragon 835 is newer and preforms better.

  • Razer phone is excellent. All depens on how you gonna use your phone. If you dont know then get Moto Z2 force with Moto Mods

  • Man getting Sony means you get much less for much more. No matter how good will Sony phone be it wont beat razer and it wobnt be for 750 or less. Sony cant sell cheap and all it offer cost too much for nothing special. Thats Sony special ability :-)

  • Nah Razer phone is better in past Sony was great company now all it s Sony that its expensive. But no Sony device is worth the price.

  • non of them lel

  • Sony H8502 A, coming in 2018 and would be announced on GSM 2018

  • What are you talking about? It looks like Sony all day long. Probably that's why I want it lol I'm thinking red XZP or this one. BUT, like always there's one: *Ships currently to the UK, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Ireland. For other countries, sign up to be notified here > Yep. Getting the red XZP for sure. I'm not gonna hassle with shipping. Too lazy :D

  • Stop trying to claim that! Of course they didn't!

  • Pixel 2 vs Razer Phone or recomend me a phone

  • Why dont use nvidia tegra 4i or k1 ?

  • true, i was really looking to buying this phone too, to me it seemed perfect, until i saw its problems, the problems that really changed my mind on this phone are: -poor on screen battery life( see gsmarenas battery test of the phone) -poor brightness -high price with a number of flaws those are the main factors that effected my purchase, although the no 3.5mm jack port is a bummer for this phone... and cam isnt much better than most other flagship although i didnt really mind that too much.. damn i was really hyped about this phone.....

  • I was about to buy it, then the very very bad camera reviews and no headphone jack is such a let down. The screen brightness where you cannot play outside. I hope version 2 will fix these

  • Gorilla glass 3 is more resistant to scratches and the 5 is more resistant to drops... Google it :)

  • 1- Huge ugly bezels= HUGE SPEAKERS 2- No Active Matrix Light Emitting Diode display = NOT GIVING A F! 3- High Dynamic Range Display =not giving a F 4- No always on display = not givin a F 5- No 2160P video recording at 60 frames per second = not givin a F 6- No Optical image stabilization. 7- No IP certified or MIL-STD = not givin a F 8- No wireless charging = not giving a F 9- Wireless 802.11 AD. = not giving a F 10-No Bluetooth 5.0 (Why???) = not giving a F.... I don't know what Razer was thinking. They missed ten of the most important features of a 2017 flagship. "That's Insane" ..!.. = U ARE VERY STU..D MATE... U HAVE UR OWN OPINION AND NEEDS... SO THAT WHAT U WROTE IS PURE SH.T! Go and buy urself something u want and dont play smart like this...what u think is important like the F bluetooth 5.0 its not important if ONLY YOUR phone has it, the other device you connecting ur phone with has to have the bluetooth 5.0 too... And now at the time there are only few devices which support bluetooth 5.0... So please like the AOD... IM USING THE GALAXY S8 AND I DONT F USE THE AOD....

  • You just gotta degrade this overpriced phone further with that. lel.

  • I wasn't talking about "is it worth it". That's up to you.

  • Read the review. Spoiler alert: They are not. In fact they're kinda slightly above average.

  • Read the review, and tell me again the refresh rate is worth it.

  • no AMOLED? sure, coz it has refresh rate of 120Hz. AMOLED s cannot and do not support that. want AMOLED? go, but ul get max 60Hz.

  • u want good sound for music? u need them (and have them FAT) cables.

  • it's Gorilla 3 not 5, they obviously ARE joking :D

  • I'm liking this phone very much. great battery life dbogfgobobabdieg. It's very good for gaming hcb

  • I am not a Razer fan but I do admit I like the simplicity of the phone call me old school but i like the way it looks and of course i do like the design of the S8`s and other phones with curves or edge display. But for me OLED or P-OLED or AMOLED whatever it is? as long as it works and do the things I want is more than enough.

  • Sooner or later all mobile devices will no longer carry 3.5mm jack, I`m one of those guys who actually wanted to have my phone equipped with a 3.5mm jack but remember that we are in the age of technology and it`s getting bigger as time goes by it`s evolution things evolve around us especially techs so even though you like it or not it`ll just keep evolving. The only question is will Razer stay in the mobile industry? Or are they just like the others one hit wonder?

  • It's $700. Razor making iPhoneX look bad.xD

  • BT 4.2 not BT 5.0? Ur joking ryt razer?

  • how much

  • yep, but in exchange, you'll get 2 dolby front facing speakers which is the best speakers on a phone so far.

  • Any new released android phone like Razer will always gonna be inferior to another android well known phone when compared even though they have the same hardware running inside. Razer is known for gaming stuffs not mobile, a lot of doubts for this one but if your looking only for the basic phone features then you already lost the benefits of a potentially great phone, you gonna have to consider a lot of things before you can actually judge the phone sometimes the underdog has way more things to offer than the current champions. Sometimes you gonna have to ask yourself like do you really need to buy more than a thousand dollar mobile phone when you can get something similar with the same specs for less than a thousand? Nowadays buying phones even though it cost like 1000 plus is nothing new anymore. it`s more like you have to be IN or not. it`s no longer a need but a WANT just to satisfy themselves. Always remember that company`s like samsung and apple and LG`s and so on tend to release newer models every year.

  • They should have released this kinda phone 2 years ago. Even in gaming department it's still inferior to other flagship devices like the iPhone x or the oneplus 5. It's not like it has 12gigs of ram or the futuristic snapdragon 860 or something.

  • No headphone jack, which is an automatic fail.

  • no ir blaster , no fm radio

  • Love this design /dont like logo/, I am happy from quality display /finally someone thinking about human eyes not only about oversaturated shit under thick 2.5D curved glass - grandma glasses effect/. I mean, this product goes against the flow, especially I like using traditional cover glass not stupid fashion 2.5D shit, I hate this feature and today is really problem to find phone without this crap. Dont like camera, it s ... like a iPhone X, not satisfied for 600E phone /Huawei P10 for comparison/... But thumbs up and if Razer upgrade this camera, I am ready to buy this phone...

  • 2- No Active Matrix Light Emitting Diode display. \\\ wtf is that? -_- It's just a phone, not a pc

  • The numbers are in and they look HORRIBLE . The super hyped display is probably the worst part of this phone . It does not seem to have great quality and eats battery like candy . 60h battery with 4000 mAh is ridiculously bad ! And things only get worse when you can't charge and use headphones at the same time . Definitely a fail . The only hope is that they can improve things a bit with software updates even though they can't actually fix bad hardware . Shame , I really liked this phone design .

  • Then dont buy the F phone. Its not a flagship. Its just a phone for gamers who play on their phone. A dslr is still better than a phone. A 50 in Uhdtv is better to watch movies with. And a gaming pc is still best for gaming.

  • 1- Huge ugly bezels. 2- No Active Matrix Light Emitting Diode display. 3- High Dynamic Range Display. 4- No always on display. 5- No 2160P video recording at 60 frames per second. 6- No Optical image stabilization. 7- No IP certified or MIL-STD. 8- No wireless charging. 9- Wireless 802.11 AD. 10-No Bluetooth 5.0 (Why???). I don't know what Razer was thinking. They missed ten of the most important features of a 2017 flagship. "That's Insane" ..!..

  • I've always loved the Xperia design, but it rules out female clients and this will affect sales and the sharp angles make it less pocketable. 120hz is great for gaming, but these days the focus is on colour reproduction Apple did well with wide colour gamut and the other flagships offer led screens with HDR capability. So the Razer phone will lose in the multimedia front and it remains to be seen how many games will support 120hz and if this advantage will have any practical uses in visible framerates. If the games don't make a specific 120hz mode for this just one Android phone in the market, the only advantage this screen will have is a smooth display that will not strain the eyes in long uses. I further see 3 huge issues with the phone, the flagship price, which is there to ensure the performance, but when we pay such price, we cannot accept compromises, yes it has a gaming screen, huge battery, the best CPu+GPu, twice the Ram of the S8, but still it's too heavy for long time gaming, OnePlus 5 will top it in performance due to its resolution, the camera aperture could have been better esp in the front, the speakers are great but no specialised sound DAC, not even 32bit support so the speakers use are debatable, adults don't play games with loud gaming sounds and small kids cannot afford flagship prices and those bezels, those damn huge bezels are so 2016, only Sony have such big bezels today and that's why they are about to bankrupt and they somewhat justify them with front face stereo speakers AND IP protecrion! They ought to at least have capacitive buttons to free up some screen estate. And the third issue for me is the GPS being so weak, as i occasionally use my phone for navigator. Others will have further issues with the 3,5mm jack missing(I use BT headset), battery not being replaceable (I prefer to have higher capacity and a power bank), no wireless charging (gimmick) good front camera aperture for selfies (girls) but all in all such compromises will give it a hard time to justify it's price tag, S8+ And Oneplus3T are no cheaper and soon V30 will be too, overall superior devices in every expect! I welcome variation and competition and i can't wait to see 120hz being put to use!

  • Security? iOS isn't secure any more. I've used many android phones and don't faced any virus or annoying issues. You can't do every simple task in iOS because of it's simplicity unless you jailbreak it. New version of iOS is full of bugs. Sony Xperia XZ Premium destroyed newest iPhone X in speed test. Android 8 is more reliable than your iOS.

  • Man ZTE its trully cheaper but not as quality as Razer i know what i am talking about. My first razer mice lasted 12 years before my GF it accidentaly drops on floor and mouse died. I wonder if your ZTE could last even half of that :-)

  • $750-$800

  • How good is Gorilla Glass 3 on this phone?

  • hi i want a razer but am from south africa can spmeone maybe tell me if they will ship to south africa if not where can i order one and what will the price be rand wise?

  • Meh, just get Axon 8 with 3.5mm jack intact and half the price of this.

  • Lmao, you think ZTE hasnt been making phones for years now compared to Razor overpriced gimmick? You can buy for less than $700/600 certain SD835 SoC phones nowadays. Heck ZTE Axon 7 was last years flagship was amazing for less than half the price of its competitors having all the goodies with ofcourse 3.5mm jack.

  • Can someone estimate the price range for this phone?

  • If we compare price and specs this is a true gaming flagship. First phone from Razer and so many innovations.

  • Love this phone as it's like having an overpowered version of my old Xperia XD

  • Simplistic? Simple things doesn't need to cost soo much. I love Apple Phones because of their design except the iPhone X which I don't like. I hate Apple Phones because they tend to overprice their phones. This Razor Phone killed every phone in the market in performance : price ratio. Only OnePlus 5T/5 and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will be a great competitor to this phone for the performance : price ratio

  • ......... I hope you're trolling..... IOS is made to be simplistic for simple minded people to grasp, has higher security so you don't mess your own phone up and then blame the OS. Android has full customizability, takes some knowledge to make it secure but tbh if you can't grasp it yourself and need a OS designed to hold your hand through everything better stick with a V-tech.

  • Man you have no idea how good this phone is. Your axton 8 will never be proper gaming phone with specs good as this.

  • Man WTF if you forget on security IOS have nothing to offer just P2P Pay to Play apps nothing free and also its moxt expensive like paying for the apps is not enough. Android here is million times better. On the interet is milenia of security apps you can use so the security of the operation system really doesnt matter. Even a brand new iphone 4 which is almost 10 years old cost 250-300 eur just because apple cant sell cheap. And to be honest again for a same price you can have billion times better device with android. Dunno what your problem.

  • Man Adroid was never cheap OS its not apple product android were google. Ios its crap maybe have no viruses but have nothing to offer at least free from pay apps missing :-) This is where Adroid always prevails over IOS. To be honest only cheap was your comments

  • Why will razer use IOS? Are you damn? This is for TRUE GAMERS. Not for farmville players.

  • congratulations! you just won the internet!

  • Honestly, I agree with how bad the Android's operating system can be(with the basic security features), but it's a shame that if I get the cheapest currently supported iPhone that doesn't have a lot of expensive hardware but ends up costing $180-190.

  • ohaj. the phone is worth it and the style is very nice. I hope they will add more features for razer phones dhcdjcooaaojfbhh

  • wel..u smart ass..if they designed a new os they also had to design apps , games for that os..cause android apps and games would not run on that os....and since when android is a crap os ? u should get your facts straight before commenting in here

  • If it ran a different OS, compatibility with apps will rarely be a thing. And pretty much 99% of all app developers tend to focus on Android and iOS (either both or one of the 2) as to where the app can run on. And that would make this phone not popular at all.

  • What are you thinking? lmao.

  • IOS isnt that safe either that always give you that impression but i work at a student servicedesk and i get just as many viruses on android as on IOS devices.

  • err. coz most of the high end game are in android os. New os only have some basic stuff for casual phone user and definitely not for gamer enthusiast.

  • Android looks childish? iOS looks childish. Android holds the majority of the market share for mobiles and then it's iOS...but you want Razor to make their own OS?? What would happen to all the apps and games that you would use on an everyday basis? do you expect all the software companies to port over to razor? VM inside their Razor OS? Android is Decent OS, as is iOS. I don't people who think it's so easy to pull a functioning OS out of nowhere lol

  • Crappy OS? At least it is open source and excessible for every developer. UNlike your beloved iOS. That is why a 'gamers' Phone must have Android. Just tell me how many 'gamer divices' Apples has... I'll beat you to the punch.. NONE ! Have fun with your fruit, pay top dollar for crappy hardware with a nice symbol. Us gamers prefer the right stuff.

  • Why is it running on a android OS? It is a real crappy OS to be honest. Why don't they just design a brand new OS that is secure like IOS against viruses. Smooth and sleek with out looking like a kid designed it with crayons like Android looks. Not make it open source as Android likes to download things in the background wasting your mobile data. Make a OS with the good of BOTH IOS and Android combined. Yes the phone would be amazing then. Otherwise it will be a waste of money. Razer has good products but don't destroy it with a cheap OS. Be innovative and exciting like your products for gaming is.

  • Looking at Three's website, buying the phone on a pay as you go basis costs about £595 and then you have to pay for a top up on the included SIM (lowest is £10) so you should be able to get this for £605. All of Three's phones come unlocked so its just a case of swapping SIM. Haven't seen a price on the UK Razer store yet... already pre-ordered one on contract.

  • If this year 8gb ram the norm of high end phone, then i expect no less than 12gb ram on the highest end next year. Customer expectation keep increasing. How are manufacturers coping with our ridiculous demand? 4gb ram is like almost low budget segment now.

  • I can't wait to put my hands on this phone.

  • Rumors says that its a monster, compare to S8 or Iphone8, is he(the razer phone) on the list?

  • it would be an amazing gaming phone if it was 6 inch with less stereo speaker bezel.

  • Dunno but if they use the latest SoC then price would be higher than 500 bucks probably but then again much better than Razor Gimmick.

  • No B71 sopprt which is a bummer, but chances are they would have had time to get certified and implement it. I'm ok with it since the phone makes up for it in almost every way

  • ...Because they copied Sony Ericsson

  • It should, if it will be with no carrier contract.

  • Apple's Iphone 7 popularized it

  • put an Ir-blaster and water proof and will be the perfect phone for 2017-2018 ! make it even 6" and the same 16:9 (18:9, or 2:1 is just garbage)

  • Do you think the Axon 8 will have a 845 SoC?

  • Always Human psychic, first innovation is successful, see ram 8 gb in gaming is very important. All spec are super dopper!

  • If i bought this phone in the USA while on vacation, would it work ok when i brought it back to the UK after? i ask because it would save me £170 ish if i bought it in the USA

  • Waiting for the ZTE Axon 8, almost half price difference than this and will retain 3.5mm jack, will have better camera, stereo speakers with DAC, etc.

  • Actually we could say that its a good device considering that it has a good level regarding to the RAM and the camera its outstanding, and well it looks like an Xperia but I really like the Razer logo on the back

  • it is the first phone release by Razor , sooner the next updated phone will be release also ... I will just wait for the next upcoming phone release I do believe anyone who will buy this phone will switch to the new model after this... and next one will be better than this , I will just set a side my money for this.

  • This is a great phone but, I would like to see the 5T first and then decide.

  • Definitely agree mate.

  • Slick architecture. This deserves a house party!

  • Z.series or XZ.series in looks+design >>>>> Razer doubtless

  • "Also most beautiful" I find it funny how people love this phone's design but hate on Sony's...

  • So does this phone support the new t-mobile 600mhz at band 71?

  • Quality of loudspeaker is awesome I did forget lack of 3.5mm jach.h...& 120Hz! price group is not bad too

  • This deserves a thumbs up

  • Actually we could say that its a good device considering that it has a good level regarding to the RAM and the camera its outstanding, and well it looks like an Xperia but I really like the Razer logo on the back

  • Hope not. Wish that razer will prevail any competition and i think they did.

  • Oh yes, the Sony Xperia XZ premium with a 4K Screen that NO Human eye can see the difference from a 1080p screen. Congrats, you just stated the most stupid comment here. Razor looks nothing like a Sony phone, look at the speaker grilles, camera sensor placements. Congrats, you just stated the second most stupid comment here.

  • Hahaha! Lol. I kind of like this design for some reason, well maybe because I am a fan of RAZER's Blade series laptops? For the specifications like the processor and RAM it is kind of better than what the competition is offering at this price point, but for the camera, for those who not only want to game on it but also want a powerful snapper will complain about it, definitely. A 12MP with no EIS or OIS is kind of disappointing for them, but for me, I would only use this smartphone as one for playing games. Well as expected, they know well about gaming, and hence they covered a lot of the smartphone that is meant for smartphone gaming. That 120Hz display is still kind of overkill currently, I hope some other brand can do that sooner or later :)

  • Regardless, they were the first phones where people actually complained about the lack of a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

  • repost is browser navigation issue sorry

  • That was before the eu forced manufacturers to use universal ports. Everybody had different charging ports too. then came usb for everybody except apple with their lightning port (and the older thing), and then they probably removed the jack so they could charge royalties for things like selfie sticks, headphones etc. android does the same thing now, probably to push bluetooth headsets, or simply having more space for other hardware, a slimmer design, better waterproofing etc.. isnt a problem since apple is doing it already anyway and as a result more bluetooth devices are in use now anyway. none of these were factors in sony ericsson time, so its just coincidence, but they arent a factor to the headphone jack disappearance now

  • the phone has everything to be a good handheld, except good and convenient controls and modern titles that arent microtransaction shit. I doubt this will gain enough momentum for development of more than a handful of exclusives. a clever design with actual buttons (like a psp) that extend to the side and can be folded in and out would make all the difference, and it would be huge, because everybody would want to play classic ps2 games with it on the go. Carrying a bluetooth controller with you would be inconvenient, and touchscreen controls are only somewhat acceptable for one 3d genre, and thats shooters (I remember modern combat 2 on ios played really really well, but it takes some getting used to and isnt for everyone). besides that its a good concept for a handheld. i actually like the design, 120hz is great, provided someone wants to pay 750$ to play cheap shooters on a touch screen, the size is quite right and tons of endurance

  • Curved screens from Samsung are also annoying. Not only looks abd but is slippery as hell. No screen protector is good for that. And when you put one you cant use cover because it will push your screen protector. Also super expensive. But phone like this is GLAMOROUS.

  • Best phone of the year for sure. Also most beautifull. Awesome stats specs and everything else. I am gonna buy definitely. Count me in.

  • Cost much less than other brands mate. What do you want. Huge battery and top notch end specs beyond belief. Buy Iphone X for 1300 plus 150 for that charger when you are not happy. 2700 mAh bettery will die in one hour maybe less on gaming

  • Excellent phone would buy it. I am big razer fan. Unless it cost over 1000. Much better than that overpriced Note 8 with curved screen or that slowly charging iphone X with 150 eur charger which is not included in box. Apple is kind of joke company. This is the true beatst on the phone market.

  • Apple didn't start it, Sony Ericsson did. Look at the Sony Ericsson W-series of phones, all of them apart from the Spiro and W995 (maybe more but can't be asked checking) doesn't have a 3.5 mm headphone jack and you need to use proprietary headphones.

  • Is it coming to India????

  • I hope this phone will be released also in the Philippines. Great job razer!

  • Gaming S.phone but! Why not Nvidia clone!? No 3.5mm jack headphones (when it has about 8mm thickness) no aptX HD... Biggest disappointments

  • Well that's a different story lol. but based on the presentation, it opened a path for game developers to produce more competitive mobile games and special game versions of currently released games since they want to see their games in it's full potential.

  • now....nobody gave comment on design of phone&*() like xperia square shape.....everybody happy with sony 's copied design by razer...if this is xperia phone....every single samsung and apple (paid) fan comment on square shape....blah blah..

  • You make it sound like this phone capable of playing Overwatch or something.

  • It looks pretty cool, but this whole no headphone jack thing apple started is annoying.

  • For no 3.5mm headphone jack there should be have been aptX or aptXHD for Bluetooth headphones, Bluetooth speakers and for bluetooth car audio, all 3 which I use

  • The aspect ratio of the display was also on purpose, If you people are familiar, 16:9 ratio is the sweetspot for PC gaming and this will make it look natural for gamers. With this they maximized the bezels by using front facing stereo speakers (I do hope they didn't use foam because this was one of the issues of Google Pixel). We have yet to see it's actual use in the market. let's just hope the screen doesn't pop out or it's battery explode.

  • There are alot of things people dont understand about this phone in terms of design and what makes it a "gaming phone." Design wise, by making the phone a block razer was able to maximize the surface area of the phone that's why they were able to fit a 4k battery in it. Now what makes it a "gaming phone"? well every flagship phone can be considered a gaming worth phone but what separates it to other flagship phones is the display and the technology behind the display. 120Hz doesnt mean much but because of "Ultramotion Technology" the application of the refresh rate of the screen is properly implemented in games (Refer to Gsync and Freesync Gaming monitors). Winning is everything in gaming, that is why Ultramotion is the real highlight of the Razer Phone and not the 8GB RAM or it's 4K Battery.

  • all snapdragon 620+, 650+ and 820+ processors support it

  • A good phone but not really at a good price

  • I guess it (Razar Phone) has Mirai design language < 3

  • the best looking phone out there in my opinion..

  • I dont think gamer play so silently and plugging on earphones. The speakers is by far the best in the market. I like this phone.

  • Does anybody know what 12MP sensors are these? imx386 or imx362 or something else?

  • Well, if Razer had to make rooms for the large stereo speakers, they could have mounted the jack on the side if their was enough room. Razer probably ran out of room to put it, and to me it's not a huge deal to use a dongle. I have also saw ZTE phones have the charging port on the side, which I thought was odd.

  • No aptX or aptXHD? :(

  • Forget about it

  • Really like the 16:9 screen as opposed to 18:9 crap; external sd card is great; but a few shortcomings IMHO, for the flagship price it warrants: not water resistent no 3,5mm jack, no IR blaster no ant+ no glonass, galileo, etc. BT4.2 instead of BT5

  • It would be more Gamer phone if it had dual earjack, one for sound and one for mic, but specs are not so bad

  • I've seen one phone with a side-mounted headphone jack. Saw in passing and was like "Whaat, what phone is that?". Haven't looked in to it though, I'm guessing a quick Google would give me a model lists and some opinions on the matter. What are the benefits of having it side-mounted?

  • It's not a gaming phone- it's a phone for gamers...so I've heard. This phone is fantastic and will be even better in a couple of years. I think the designers should have went for the side mounted headphone jack.

  • Why would you need water resistance phone if RAZER COMPANY meant for GAMING? lul is ur hand have waterfall?

  • No jack 3.5??? pffpffff

  • Funny how razer used sd835 and fool every in thinking this is a gaming phone.

  • Battery is the most important part of mobile gaming and when you say gaming it means it drains alot of battery and for 4000 mAh battery I don't think so, well you have that quick charge option so your choice... but for me no

  • Put a dual SIM and ip67 or 68 and watch your phone climbing up the sales razer! I would certainly buy this!

  • Storage size of the razer phone should be as below: "External: microSD (class 10, 2TB max.)"

  • Seriously, all alternatives you mentioned, sans iphone8, are exactly crap for gamers due to their QHD screens, which makes game graphics fps seriously drop during gaming. This one is no exception too, although it is better than those cause of 120 hz refresh. Best bigscreen android flag for gaming is still XZ Prem, as its 4k screen is adaptive so it goes to fHD during gaming and keeps maximum fps performance for no stutter experience. Funny enough, arena concluded that adaptive screen is a shortcoming of that phone, whilst in real life user experience it actually improves gaming and UI performance ?! And Funny enough, this phone design looks just like it.

  • Did you count all of them GHz ?

  • Will razer launch this beast in INDIA?

  • Who cares about water resistant most smartphone are just resistant not water"PROOF" also the speaker is really good af

  • It's actually expandable up to 2TB SD card, not just 256GB.

  • looks decent. but right now. if we saw real 4K screen or either 120Hz screen on phone. its very overkill for playing mobile games with some microtransaction s*** . unless there are some AAA games on smartphone

  • I'll buy it if it has an FM radio

  • It's ment to be a gaming phone They should clock it higher

  • Should have had a removable battery if its not water resistant.

  • Dolby Atmos speakers?? :O Does it have surround sound?

  • I don't think its waterproof

  • Sadly is not waterproof

  • That's still not a reason to strip the device of its analog output. Even phones with headphone socket can output the sound to bluetooth headset when necessary. Not to mention Bluetooth add noticeable latency, worsen audio quality and largely limit the choice of compatible devices, whereas 1/8" TRS has been industry standard for almost 100 years.

  • Can I use t mobile SIM with it?

  • no ois, no 3.5mm jack, radio to be confirmed. No way, nice try

  • Guys why complain? It has a massive 4000mAh battery. Dual camera. 8GB of RAM. SD Card slot. NFC. Snapdragon 835. 1440p screen with first 120hz refresh rate. 64GB Internal Storage. Also it will get Android 8.0 and you will be able to root it without any hassle. Dolby Atmos+ Stereo Speakers. As for Gorilla Glass 3 etc. Who cares? Get a case and screen protector and learn not to drop your phones! It's made of aluminum anyway so if you dropped it from high enough even with Gorilla Glass 5 the screen would probably break. I have already pre-ordered it.

  • waterproof ?

  • Yeah right, same looks , power button , and front facing speaker ,

  • And Gorilla Glass 3 instead of 5.

  • they should make another variant of this phone. 3000 mah battery and maybe snapdragon 820 but absolutely it should be thinner than this. of course price is high. Price should be around 499 usd

  • Is that a brick witha display?

  • What is the difference between Bluetooth 4.2 and Bluetooth 5

  • Underclocked SD 835 2.35 GHZ ?

  • Can I use t mobile SIM with it?

  • Im sold, 8GB of RAM, 4000mah battery, 120hz screen Nova Built-in. SOunds amazing. Only thing I see lacking is, no headphone jack, Bluetooth 4.2 instead of 5 and lack of water proofing.

  • 120hz display is the future. once you experienced the smoothness you'll never go back. i'll wait for the battery endurance and camera dxomark. if its all good, this will be my phone next.

  • razer just stuck with the square design because of the nextbit robin and I think it looks good especially with those kind of speakers and all the goodies it comes with for a cheaper price than an s8 id take the razer any day I honestly thought it would of cost a fortune

  • No clue why all of you are crying about a headphone jack. Buy a bluetooth line in for your car and move on already. awesome screen? check speakers pointed in the correct direction? check decently sized battery? check competitive chipset, and good amount of ram? check. cheaper than the samsung note 8? check. i dont see a problem.

  • and LG

  • Looks like a sony xperia and they also copied figureprint style from Sony....

  • Gaming device with no headphone jack? Idiotic.

  • I agree, they could definitely have done a better job!

  • You should check your facts. Snapdragon 835 is the standard for all current Android phones. They said it will get Oreo in Q1 2018 that's 6 months at the most Get over the headphone jack all the flagship phones save Samsungs have ditched it, it takes up too much space, do you want battery or headphones?. By some BT headphones and move on.

  • Looks interesting, comparing to XL pixel 2 looking at one of the 2 and this is cheaper and doesn't seem to have all the other screen issues the pixel 2 xl is seeing.

  • no jack no consider :/ . Shame

  • You can't carry an adapter everywhere. It's hard to not forget stuffs.

  • You anyways shouldn't charge and listen... It's a bad thing because: 1. Battery Life will become lower 2. Radiation from Charger with also go to your ears causing ear damage or cancer.

  • Razer Phone or Oneplus 5?

  • Good point, And GSMArena writers had failed just like I expected. They have corrected it to 2160p which is accurate for this kind of phone. It would have also been -- in my opinion -- better if they made a tablet for that purpose (larger screen). Or they could have enlarged the screen size to at least 6.0 (6.5 for the perfect gaming phone).

  • -You can't charge and listen. -The USB port is more fragile and using it that way in your pocket/bag may not be a good idea -It's not just headphones. I use my car amplifier with the phone too. So hat means the adapter can't be on my headphones all the time and i'll have to plug it whenever i want to listen to music. -THX or not, i doubt it rivals a good integrated DAC, especially in terms of loudness.

  • This is a genuine question for those who say that no headphone jack is a deal breaker.. It comes with a THX certified adaptor, so why is it still a deal breaker? Is there something a direct connection does that the adpator can't?

  • I think it's great phone for it's price. It's really worth it ! Awesome specs.

  • The phone is already a trash look at d specs just snapdragon 835 chipset? Where snap is moving ahead for 845.. also no headphone jack is a great bummer also this phone is a block with heavy bezels the OS is only 7.1 and there would not be any update for 8.0 (oreo) for about an year! Seriously samsun s8 plus, note 8, one plus 5t or higher and iphone 8 plus/X would atleast be the phonr for gamers.. with a great value for money.

  • The network bandwidth won't do it for online games.

  • The price is not worth just like your comment.

  • does the phone have hdmi out

  • It's not a phone for gaming, it's a phone for gamers. They've stated that multiple times. plus, wireless charging is not really relevant for gaming.

  • I wish Samsung would make a device like that, and copied Xperia design. I think it will look cool.

  • i think they suggest bluetooth headset..

  • Are you kidding? ugly design? gaming? wireless charging? gaming? Are you clueless? You seem so.

  • If this phone is meant for gaming then it should feature headphone socket, period.

  • bad phone ugly design, no wireless charging or 3,5mm jack.. lol and this is a gaming phone? fail

  • IF i'm going to buy this phone it's better to wait for the next Razer Phone because by that time Razer Phone is a well established brand and for sure they will improve it a lot lot better, and i hope they do something in the UI.

  • People be like this phone is so exspensive. It has a 2k 120hz ultramotion screen what is basically g-sync but for phones also 8gb of ram, Snapdragon 835 and 4,000mah battery. But they then go a step further to actually allow you to change the clock speed of the CPU in the settings yes that's right the CPU. And also they allow you to change the Hz as well so you can have 60hz, 90hz or 120hz. And you can have the option to change the resolution as well. Then if that wasn't enough you can customise per game if you want it to be power intensive or not so it will use either as little battery or as much as you want. Then they have Dolby Atmos built into the FRONT FACING SPEAKERS what doesn't do what Sony does but copies the way HTC used to do it and take up the whole of the front bezels. The one thing that I really don't like but I can understand why they couldn't do it is there is no water or dust resistance. But then again I have never drop my phone in water as of yet

  • It's NOT a shame for everyone. After all, they do market this for gaming and NOT for video recording.

  • Errrrr.... they OFFICIALLY went live and announced those specs, right?

  • I guess omitting the headphone socket was mandatory for Razer to enter into flagship category...

  • The razer itself, they just bought the nextbit, so how they come up with the design was inspired by nextbit robin.

  • No headphone jack? Hard pass. Damn shame.

  • There are no good mobile games and hwo wants to game on a 6 inch screen aaand its the price of a galaxy s8 or if u rrally want 8 gigs of ram just buy a 550$ oneplus

  • Not a big fan of the sharp corners. The black bar around the screen is pretty noticeable when looking. The lack of the headphone jack is a deal breaker for me. Price is high not competitive better get better established brands.

  • It's actually cheap, but considering its camera has no OIS, or even EIS, the price makes sense

  • Which company own this phone??? Is it pure android device like essential phone??

  • I guess i have to take my words back...Another overpriced peace of junk. More than 600 euro, no headphones jack and 64GB of storage. Well thanks but no thanks.

  • What a handsome device! I definitely will buy one

  • This is actually a joke. No headphone jack.

  • I love how grown men are whining as little kids crying over the price being expensive for this phone. This phone has dual wide speakers and great specs topping up high class phones. No phone offers big and quality speakers like those,8 gb ram and snapdragon 835 chipset and solid build for that price. Also the phone price drops few months after the release so learn how to wait spoiled brats.Half of these specs are not on the iphone garbage and it's the same price.Great job Razor, your price is on point. If you have a nice bright screen like Amoled and option in settings to change quality of screen (qhd, fhd,hd option) you are more than a perfect well needed in all specs phone

  • What's a joke? I don't understand. It's a great phone.

  • These dual speakers at the front are loud, amazing. What a beast of a phone.

  • Review units are already out. I'll have one under the Christmas tree.

  • Unless you thought something else about it was a joke, like how it has no IR blaster.

  • Great phone. I'm curious to see how IGZO LCD takes on against AMOLED. The PPI should be a lot higher for this phone. Oh, and GSM Arena, please add the Nextbit Robin to your site already; just because Razer discontinued that phone doesn't mean people should not know about it.

  • So gamer's phone they said, i dont think so.....no headphone jack among other things also it looks like its gonna be overpriced.

  • try 1/1,301 So it somewhere close to 77%

  • Hopefully not.... It does have a full metal uni-body that should help... unlike the plastic Nextbit Robin. Still unsure how a price $700 translates into £700... it directly equals £530.. plus 20% VAT means £630ish. Apple does this as well.... at least Samsung prices translate OK... $950 for Note 8 should be £860 and the price is close enough at £870. At £700 it is going up against tougher competition, at around £600 it would have a much easier time.

  • good decent phone for there first. they should of price it at $500.

  • So expensive

  • I'm hoping this phone doesn't bend as easy as the Nextbit Robin (like how JerryRigEverything showed)

  • is more refresh rate 120 V 60hz take hurt our eyes more? and it's just for light of display.

  • too expensive no wireless no ip class no 3,5mm

  • this is the best phone for this year. it doesnt matter the design, all that matters is the functionality go ahead and buy that iphone/samsung design and have the worse functionality ever on top of that, it costs you 549$ to replace your iphone X display if you have an accident(exemple)

  • no 3.5 mm jack??? what's next? no volume keys? no power button? new phone are worse everyday

  • Lets be honest Razer you do this for us the tech service boys...

  • It's a shame that the video recorder is limited to 1080p on a phone with such specs (unless GSMArena's writers have failed again).

  • It better have NFC or its a non starter!

  • In Canada it'll be 1000$ I'm guessing. Still a good deal. Pixel 2 & iPhone X are still more expensive. I think I know what I want now.

  • true, impressive so far. Let's wait for the final, official specs

  • $699 with those spec. SD835, 8GB, 64GB, IGZO 120hz, 4000mah welcome Razer

  • Is this a joke in 2017 NOV?????

  • SNAPDRAGON 835. 8 GB RAM.... 40000 mAh battery, dual front facing speakers

  • sd835

  • SoC?

  • Razer always name their products after anything dangerous like snakes, monsters and uh, Blade. If I or we are Razer, what do we call that phone?

  • Awesome phone! Huge internal memory+two sim slots, stereo speakers and 3.5mm jack, big battery and big, but not too big screen with proper aspect ratio! And it's even cheaper than Samsung's and Apple's flagship fashionphones. Impressive.

  • It's looks like a xperia

  • This phone is targeted towards gamers and enthusiasts. Not the average consumer. So here, performance>resolution and color accuracy> stupid over-saturated colors.

  • Thought the resolution would be much higher. I assumed this would be a gaming phone. Not a fan of LCD. Amoled is better IMO. Will have to see when it comes out.

  • Haha, IGZO is the best or among the best display from the world. It is a Japanese technology. Do not underestimate Japan, they can still amaze the world. Or did you talk about the resolution?

  • Not with that screen.

  • "To be confirmed card slot" I'm waiting.
