vivo Xplay5 - User Reviews

  • why this mobile backcover unavailible

  • is it in Kenya?

  • Am using this phone Awsm phone with curved display n dual processor

  • i love the mobile

  • when is it available in india??

  • Beacause it's high priced more than specs

  • Keeps wondering why this brand isn't available in Nigeria yet.

  • Is it possible to upgrade thru firmware for VOLTE support on this phone

  • File a Police Complaint. They will track your phone using IMEI number

  • i lost my vivo account plzz help

  • Is it available in the Philippines?

  • how to change language from chinese to english

  • 6gb ram is xplay5 elite. 4gb is xplay5 only.

  • Because 6G is the Xplay5S and this is the normal version.

  • As they said it's 6Gb RAM why it's only 4GB RAM?

  • Just a few comments to add. I live in China, by the way. The Xplay5 is available now in phone shops throughout the country. The Xplay5S (with 6GB of RAM, an aluminum body and a faster chip-set) is available as well, BUT only through special order on Vivo's website. I ordered mine online 2 weeks ago; this is how I know. Not sure yet if the Xplay 5S will (ever) be available in markets other than China. And one correction to the specs posted above: the Xplay 5 and 5S are both shipping with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, fyi. Other than that, and after only 2 weeks of using it, I can say that this phone is fast, gorgeous and smooth to hold and use. I'm really happy with it, especially with the 128 GB of ROM. I can now keep my entire 50 GB of music in one place, which is a first. Build quality is exceptional and it takes great photos as well. For 4,200 RMB (or $US 630 based on current exchange rates) it should be a show-stopper, and it is. Here is a link to the official Vivo website; sorry that is does not appear to be available in English. For phone-geeks like me who just read the specs, you'll know what you're reading:

  • FYI: MOST (almost all) mobile phones are manufactured in CHINA! Even iPhones have parts that are manufactured in CHINA! So what's the big deal with that?! I can't understand why people say so many bad things about other brands and even compare it to other brands such as Samsung, iPhone and etc. yet they don't even own a single Vivo phone! How ironic and how STUPID!!!! There really are a lot of mediocre minded people in this world!!! As for my review about this phone, I checked this unit Xplay5 (not the Xplay5 Elite - they're different) at their display center/store and what I noticed with the unit is 1. It is a little bit heavy than most of the android phones. 2. Camera is good (I never expect that it is very clear because I can see my pimple when I tried taking a selfie). 3. I like it that it is already AMOLED (so there's no need for tempered glass). 4. Qualcomm chipset? Hmmmmm... personally, I don't really like it because it has a few cons when you say Qualcomm. 5. Internal memory (128GB) is good even if they don't have card slot (that's enough space for all my files). 6. 3600 mAh battery - They should've added more since this unit contains 6GB RAM and cpu is octa-core so I'm pretty sure the battery won't last a day especially heavy usage. That's all and I hope reviewers will post reviews/comments that makes sense (not just posting rubbish or non-sense).

  • My wife has a phone with the scanner at the back and it is actually very convenient to unlock the phone etc. Just use your index finger.

  • is it available in the philippines

  • Would have definitely considered this phone if it did not have the fingerprint scanner at the rear, its just bad placement in order to be different

  • One Question: Is it coming to the US?

  • This phone has 6Gb of RAM and a 128 Gb Rom in China. :-) To all of you who seem to see so many different phones incorporated into the design, It would be nearly impossible to design a "normal" phone that didn't look like some other phone so get over it.

  • No! It's 656$.=))

  • no this is edge display 2.5d is totally different thing.

  • These comments/opinions are the reason GA should have some sort of moderator for them. So many people post who will quite happily rip into the company for making, what they think, is a great phone. Yes they bought the screens from Samsung, because it's good technology. The haven't gone near Apple in their design - unless you're on about it being slightly rounded. Not quite sure where the HTC link is but some people seem to see it, maybe it's the placement of the camera? Usually something 'important' as that. People don't look at phones for what they are, technological expertise. Instead they see a phone from a company not many people have heard of and call it a clone. You want an example of a clone? Look at the GooPhone. That IS a clone. This - the Vivo Xplay 5 - is a great design and a great phone. End!

  • Then why you don't go for galaxy a9 with that same price

  • When will on sale? In Myanmar? Can you guide where can I buy it?

  • They bought edge screens from Samsung.

  • they didn't mention price here ..... i think 35 to 44 k

  • This looks awesome, a stand-in-the crowd one... Has every damn thing needed on a smartphone...

  • this call SAMPHONE (samsung+ i phone ) = samphone

  • I like vivo..look like nice

  • Well based on the specifications, it's one hell of a phone.. But if you would take a look at the battery and sync it based on the specs.. You can expect cooking egg will be much better at this phone..

  • sPhoneI5 - Samsung + iPhone + Xiomi MI5

  • That's an iPhone 6 Edge :D

  • it's seems like vivo mix 3 phones in grinder (iphone 6, samsung edge+ and htc A8) and form vivo xplay5 Does vivo engineering use their empty mind anywhere in designing of phone...!!!!! lol

  • Can it rename call sungphone 6X ?

  • powerful design ,2 in1 (iPhone 6 n samsung galaxy)

  • No, curved like Samsung edge phones

  • design obviously different with samsung s6 edge, its cool this phone have amazing look, the display curved superamoled surely from samsung too

  • A complete rip off from s6 edge. Oh well. Both of them are ugly tho.

  • Why does this look like the S6 edge? Phone companys are getting pathetic.

  • Yeap it is!

  • Looks like Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and iPhone 6s had a kid! Looks good though! :)

  • A crossover of iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy Edge, meet the "iPhung" smartphone..

  • been using the xplay 3s for 2 years .. , its the only phone that survived that long with me and still no issues , but that it is getting a bit heavy ., good quality phones for sure , i would totally recommend it for this price range, i dont like though that the screen is only 5.43 also the camera has f/2 aperture for this new phone , but it really looks nice

  • Guys, it's the xplay5 elite that uses the sd820 not this one

  • Bro it uses an sd652 not the 820

  • Is this their flagship?? I thought they will use the sd820

  • Man, this looks amazing!

  • Yes. They call it 2.5D

  • Does it have a curved display?

  • overall an awesome phone but there will be OIS in camera too

  • Having a good battery, and a way to be delivered in Australia, this will be my next smartphone.

  • Smartphone with 4gb ram alone is comfortable to use . Moreover, the smartphone with 6GB ram ??? :) ) ) Maybe the next 5 years there will be a smartphone with 10GB ram ... Hahaha

  • This is a powerfull smartphone, flagship ohh flagship :)))

  • Nvidia is going to relase a new pascal based SoC anyways, its not that the soc is weak, its pretty much always the software side (cough 130k antutu on htc m9 cough). Its much faster cause of the 14 nm technology they are using and the cortex-A72 cores that do the trick.

  • This. I was so excited about the Xplay 5 until I heard about the 5.5-inch screen. Anything less than a 6-inch screen is a deal-breaker for me.

  • You've obviously never used a Vivo phone before and have no idea what you're talking about. I have the Xplay 3s, which is outstanding.

  • With such specs and being a Chinese company, I must say this phone will hardly survive 6 months and will start lagging in normal usage.

  • I think 5.3'' is very handy & Superp grip for using.....

  • I am hoping for 6" display, or at least 5.7".

  • 6 GB of RAM in a phone! That is just insane! Has nice specs all around and is incredible.

  • 4GB of RAM are enough for GTA 5,the problem is that the CPU and the most important the GPU of the SD820 are far away to support the graphics of the game.Maybe in 10 years we will see the GTA 5 in Google play store

  • Awesome specs, but I will go for LG G5.

  • That processor rivals the nvidia x1 is CPU performance, and has the '4th' most powerful graphics solution you can find. Lastly; don't be discouraged by the lack of cores or clockspeed, kyro cores are upwards of 120% faster (I.e 2 810 cores ~= 1 kyro core. I personally think that a phone doesn't need 6gb of RAM, since practically no android system benchmark shows the usage of more than 3.5gb and 4gb being the dropoff, hence why flagship phones stuck with 4gb, due to it still being low cost compared to 6gb modules

  • My next target... I'll buy one.

  • Not at satisfied with its processor...all other specification is Gud

  • 6gb of ram??? For what ? GTA 5 ??? :D It would be awesome, but still imposible.

  • Well, considering the specs mostly on preliminary rumors, this flagship is really considerable very good or let's say excellent. The only complaint that I can make about it now, is the hybrid slot, but let's hope that Vivo will make the Xplay 5 with a dedicated SD card slot. Having said that, really compliments to Vivo (mostly preliminary rumors )

  • Its not even out and i definitely like it.

  • I am second fan of this mobile. Pros awesome specs and processor i never seen before in any mobile device same for 6gb ram. Cons i wonder if ever any program, game or anything else will need 6gb of ram to use. But specs are gruesome. Definitely best or one of top mobiles of this year. Looks excellent, fast, reliable, smooth. Does i need to say something else?

  • LOLS
