rubbbish phone dont buy it !! texting is really hard. really easy to send a message by accident half way through writing nothing good on the phone no special features nothing to do on it , the game is rubbish and its not even translated properly - when exiting the game it says 'are you really exit' touchscreen really unresponsive would say the only good thing is that its armani and everyone loves the look of it but i really dont reccomend especially for the price its selling at. its a rip off and its no way value for money !

I own the phone since a month now. Very disappointed with it. Last weekend, for the first time I worked with the iPhone and then it became clear to me touch-screen phones can actually work. Compared to the iPhone's touch screen, the Armani is veeery slowly reacting and with my Samsung, I sometimes have to hit the screen really hard and still it doesn't react. When I press the button to pick up a call, the phone displays me random screens as if there were a false contact somewhere. Sometimes I touch the screen and a a completely different action is performed because the screen thinks I hit that one. The user interface is by far the worst I have ever experienced. Example: sending an SMS: You have to select the main menu, then the SMS icon, then hit the screen to add a contact, select whether the contact list i.e. last called, or phone book list. When e.g. you select last-called list, you need to hit the button, 'select'. Hitting e.g. the option text itself won't work here but yet on other occasions you can either click the button or the text so there's no consistency here. What I mean is that before you actually get where you wanna be, you'll need to click and hit the screen waaaay more as compared to e.g. my previous phone which was an old Sony-ericsson k750i. Sound quality: I must admit that I've suffered from too many decibels meaning my hearing is not as good as new anymore. Yet, with my K750i I had no troubles understanding people. With the Armani Samsung, I can barely understand what some people are saying and when I put on the speaker, they barely hear me! When I speak too soft they request me to speak up. Yet when I do so, they say it sounds distorted. Now I'm a DJ-producer meaning I do know there's not only soft and really loud! ;-) The scroll-bars in some windows are simply too tiny to touch them. As a result you end up hitting some button which leads you somewhere you don't want to be!! SMS: With my K750i, when I was typing an SMS and I got interupted by a friend or so, the phone shut down the screen but whenever I got back to it, my SMS was still on the screen. Or when I got a call in between, the K750i put the SMS in concepts. Now in any of these cases, my Samsung just trashes the SMS meaning I can start all over again. The only exception seems to be when I have already put a recipient but then again, sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. Again, no consistency so I get the impression the software is really shitty. Something else: Whenever I get an SMS, I get notified with a little envelope at the bottom of the screen. Now despite the fact my scren is NOT locked (checked it over and over again!!) I cannot touch that envelope to open the SMS unless I: 1) Wait approx. half a minute after having received it before touching it 2) Press one of the buttons at the side of the phone e.g. the volume knob or shoot-picture-knob at the right side!! This is my first Samsung. I got it as a gift from my girlfriend which makes it a bit ennoying of ditching it but she too recognizes the unit sucks beyond any recognition and doesn't mind me selling it to some next poor chump to get something that DOES work. Now, I am open for any brand, any model. But honestly, so far, of all the touch-screen phones I've been buying there really is only one that beats them all by far to my opinion and its the iPhone. Unfortunately Apple uses locked-sims and wants to bind you with 1 provider. Sorry Apple, I love your products, despite that they're also far from perfect but that's not the way it's going down my friends. No one will force me to go with a provider. I choose my own. ANd so I guess I'll get my old K750i out of the closet until Apple releases unlocked iPhones at a fair price or until a competitor closes the long long gap with Apple without making the same mistake. However, mistake? Apple gained quite some market share so unfortunately some people don't seem to care all that much...

while making a call, to unlock the handset you press and hold the "hold" button down the right side of the handset - right next to the camera button, once you do that you might have noticed there are a few touch sensative buttons at the bottom of the screen; press the one that looks like a keypad. Away you go, you'll be typing in pin-codes in no time! :D

It lacks stylus which makes texting is difficult. Camera is just average. You need to fix the cam for a clear shot. Plus the return button's annoying, especially when you had typed a lot then accidently touched the return button. haha, kapoof, no more long message.

There is a small speaker icon at the top of the screen hold this for about three seconds and then it says 'Exit silent mode'

Just about sussed out the all the features but one thing I can't find is how to go between small letters and capitals when in T9 ie, beginning of names etc, I know you can go out and select Abc but is there a shortcut way? 1. The phone is little slow but overall it's not bad (for example: to skip a song it takes about 4 sec)... 2. Internet experience: I only use it to read yahoo email. So the phone serves the purpose and it is acceptable to me, but if you need it for other then reading emails go buy something else. 3. Good battery life � had mp3 player on for 8 hours and only used up 1/3 of the battery life. 4. Touch pad: just like anything else the touch pad takes time to get use to � 5. has good size, weight, and design � if you want to carry this phone in your pocket; this is perfect compare to iphone �. 6. Camera: the features look cool and all but I wasn�t impressed with the camera, but others did so I guess find it yourself... 7. Earphone: I think it requires mini-A USB connector which is not common � so good luck finding them if you need extra � Tip: not sure if this is in the owners manual but if you want to skip or go to previous song, you need to swipe the status bar like you would with the scroll bar � don�t just tap on it.

The phone looks great & materials are good too but the phone is so slow, you have to touch it more than once to get a response from it, texting a nightmare & you can not see the whole text message till you go back a page, Memory card so slow with 1gb you could make a cuppa in between files!!

I have a 2gb card in mine, but as Julie mentioned below this phone is painfully slow reading the memory card, the processor isn't powerful enough. I've mentioned before in this forum that this phone has been out for sometime now and has been superceeded by the F480, which has fixed all the flaws in the Armani, I'm swapping my Armani today for the F480.

Had the phone 1 week now but have put up for sale on ebay. The 1gb memory card is so slow to open files on card, you move the bar along & wait wait wait for it to move, if you put bigger card in it i dread to think how slow that will be!! I can't stand texting on this phone, you keep catching the buttons around it so it takes ages to send a text, i have small fingers!! There is no shortcuts to contact list so to make a call takes time as well!! I did like the way the keypad locks when you close the leather case, clever. I want a phone that you can use to text & call, these were the most annoying other than the memory card!! Waiting for the samsung soul u900 to come now.

Julie: To add a word when you scroll through all it's suggestions it will eventually say 'add' at the top of the screen. Press on where it says 'add' and it let you enter a word. To add mp3 as message tone go to 'settings' then 'sound settings' then 'message tone' then 'text message' then 'tone' it will then come up with all the folder options, just find the one you want.

To Paul this is a very good phone, I own one but if your not just after the designer name I would opt for the F480 which is due for release soon, it's still touch screen but has much better features and the software has been updated from the Armani so it works much better.

i had this phone for a week now. the touchscreen need s a bit of practice to use, good if your fingers are small. but i still thing LG Viewty touchscreen is much better and much easier to use Samsung Armani. e.g I need to press twice on the screen just to start a funtion like 'create message' or go to 'camera' mode. with LG viewty, smooth touching! Armani Battery life is good. I use it for sms, short conversation, photo taking and a bit of video shoot....it last for 3.5 days before it went flat....i switch on the phone at an average of 16 hrs per day. pic and video output not bad too. overall Armani is an o.k phone with good small slim stylish design. that is all.

a stylus doesnt work with this phone. Only fingers or... other bodyparts hehehe. But dont worry. The interface is made to use fingers. It will take you some days, but it will work

I bought this the 'Armani' phone about 3 weeks ago, and I love it... I use it as my work phone and find the battery to be excellent. I had an LG last and I had to charge it every night, I get at least 2 to 3 days out of this phone and I talk alot!! To to fair though, I bought the phone cause of it's looks, and if you're looking for a capable, business tool, this isn't it, if all you do is make and take calls, and you'd like a phone that looks nice, and has a great battery, then this is the one for you. Shallow? Maybe, but who cares. I like the phone.

Writing SMS is a very easy thing with armani. The keyboard appeares on the screen and you just touch it and type what you want. About the czech T9 - i do not know.

I own the Armani and love it, but I would say if anyone is considering to buy it now I would take a look at the Samsung F480 instead, it's only slightly larger with the same high quality finish, but with much better features and faster processor. I'm swapping the Armani for one when they come out.

Can't see why people keep calling it a Prada phone copy, apart from the fact they both have touch screens and designer labels they are nothing alike! I changed my Prada for the Armani and it is ten times better! The Prada is a cheap plastic phone, whilst the Armani has a high quality metal finish and is much smaller and has much better features. As for the complaints about texting or the slow interface or lack of games, i say this: it is a phone destined for a different kind of user, some one who is more refined and doesn't need to rush through menus. Hi, I have bought recently bought the armani, and have been using for it for about 1 week, i love it. great good looking phone. i have to admit, the touch screen can get tricky at the begining, but you wil get used to it. i have no problems with it. And yes the interface is slow, but i have noticed this is only with the files on your memory card. (which i inserted from my old phone), however if you transfer your files to your phone memory, then this will solve the probelm. Nadine: The web browser is unfortunatly a bit tricky for entering fields, but it normally works by double tapping in the enter field and that will normally bring up the same keypad as sending a text message. You may have to try a couple of times because of the small size of the input box but it should work.

Janet, before you press the key on screen you need to unlock the keypad. On the right hand side of the phone there is a botton with 'hold' written on it. Keep this button pressed down until 'screen unlocked' appears then follow my previous instructions.

NRW, to set GPRS and MMS, ask your network provider. I am with T-Mobile USA and while I could not configure thru their website, I went to a boutique and they managed to send me the configs by text message. It works fine.

People that don't understand why someone would buy the Giorgio Armani phone are the same people that would not understand why spend $1000s of dollars on a suit. Giorgio Armani phone is a phone. It does more but who cares, it is meant to look good. Most flaws can be fixed by software update. But I doubt that there will ever be an update. It is a phone... these days - disposable. I will agree with some: - browser sucks - sluggish cpu for *starting* some applications but that's a design constraints to keep battery life. - Sometimes GUI requires too many clicks to get to what could be done in 1 or 2. - Beautiful design. - nice touch screen... not for fat fingers though. - picture gallery go full screen only for pics taken by the phone.

The GA logo is built in, it appears on start up and shut down. I've had this phone for almost six months now and I love it, but after reading the review of the F480 Samsung are bringing out it will definatly be replaced for that, it's much, much better than the Armani, and still has the high fashion looks and quality.

Jean, to set an mp3 as a ringtone, go to settings, then sound settings, then incoming call. The top option is ringtone, press that and a menu will come up for which folder to search, just find the mp3 you want and hit save.

However, when sending a text the phonebook shows both SIM and phone contacts so it takes twice as long to select addressee. ok just for the record if you give the armani a few days to get used to the texting it is a brilliant "phone". the camera is good, not the best but perfectly fine. it is small and slim and for men in my opinion is the ideal phone. It doesn't bother me about wifi or all the other gadgets, it is a phone at end of day and touchscreen is great once used to it

Seno: I've owned the Prada and the Armani, of the two the Prada is definately the most user friendly. If your big on texting go for the Prada, it's far easier to text on that. The problem with the Armani is that as it's so small there isn't enough room on the screen to have divisions between the keys so you do tend to end up hitting the wrong key a lot. But if that's not a problem and your after a very stylish compact phone go for the Armani. If you hold the Armani and the Prada at the same time you will instantly feel the difference in quality, the Prada has a very cheap plastic feel. The Armani feels solid, has metal casing, and looks great in the leather wallet.

I bought this phone because it looks bloody good. It oozes style and is very compact. It suits my needs perfectly. I know there are phones out there with much more functionality. If you're big on texting, then this might not be the phone for you, as I personally, find that feature quite cumbersome to use.

Asha: You can't use a stylus with it I'm affraid. My advice is to stick with it, I went from the Prada to the Armani and like you found the Armani very difficult to text, but I've kinda got used to it now, but it is still slow to text with compared to similar touch screen phones.

The Armani is only good for slim fingers and is attractive to women. It has no special features and is as small as a lighter. Opinions are if you want a phone with everything in it go for a nokia n95 8GB, iphone or nokia n96.

Bulky!!!?? Are you mad it's about a tenth of the size of the N95. Yeah the Nokia has much more features but it also needs wheels to transport the thing around! The Armani is tiny, stylish and very well built, all of which the N95 isn't! Not everyone is interested in phones that do everything! I'd always go for a small stylish phone rather than a cheap plastic hi-tech house brick!

Err, this looks nothing like the Prada! Put them side by side and you will see. The Prada feels very cheap and plastic, whilst the Armani has a very solid good quality feel and metal casing. It's also alot smaller than the Prada.

To ASHA It's a really good phone but I can see why alot of people would not go for it. For me it is all about a mix of size, good but not the best features and this delivers on those fronts. It is different to most phones so unless prepared to give it a go I would wait for the new U900 Soul from Samsung which is out in nect couple months and looks brilliant. Can't advise on other manufacturers as I always stick with Samsung.

great thank you...don't suppose you know about the camera zoom? Spoke to Samsung today they said it doesn't have one but I can't believe that! Also (last thing honest), I have set my phone to read numbers from the phone not SIM...when I view Contacts it does take from the phone but when sending a text I can see both SIM and phone contacts so it takes twice as long to select addressee. I guess I could just clear the SIM but shouldn't have to if I have selected to read from the phone only. thanks again

To DR To delete or amend a part of a message what I do is go back the the main text screen (where you see the message in full) press the bottom left hand key (not the call key) to access the menu, select edit text, and then edit text selection. once this had done, move the cursor/line to which ever word you want to delete with your thumb (just a swift movement on the screen) and then press the scissors button at the bottom, this deletes the word and if you press the screen twice from where you are you can insert the remainder of the text.

I forgot to say, when my phone rings on melody only the phone does "buzz" slightly, a soft vibrate, but can be felt when hoding it. Hope this helps clear up the uncertainty.

In answer to no vibrate and ring - explore your menus! Go into settings, sound settings, incoming call you have a choice of alert types. Melody, vibrate, vibrate then melody and increasing melody. The vibrate will go about 3 times before the melody is heard so probably 15 seconds. It has the options there so there is something for everyone.

No this phone doesn't have ring and vibrate at the same time, it's an annoying feature on a fair few of Samsung phones. You can get some Ringtones to downloadthat have the vibrate function built in to them if you can find them. Not too sure what the last comment about the elephant is about, this is one of the smallest phones about!?

We have just bought this Samsung Armani phone from a T-Mobile shop in Nottinghamshire UK. Not all shops carry it and they did not have it direct from T-mobile at the time we purchased it today.

I first got the LG Viewty, but luckily was able to change it for this one later that day. I'm glad I did: it looks wonderful (both the menu as the phone itself), the menu makes much more sense and, important, the leather case protects the touchscreen display. Of course you can press the wrong button sometimes, but that's not a big deal, after all it's a small phone and that's nice. Also, scrolling through menus works a lot better than on the Viewty. Only problem I've got is that the voice of the person you're talking to cracks a little, don't know if other people have the same problem or that I just have a copy with a bad speaker. And it would have been nice if photo's could have been displayed fullscreen. But overall: wonderful phone!

I have had this phone a week and was torn between this and the Viewty. After a couple of hours playing around with it and getting to know the phone, as you would with any new phone, I love it. Texting is easy though not quite as quick as a conventional handset, multi media is a cinch adding files, much easier than my old E900. Working the menu is easy once you get used to the obscure symbols they use. Not good with long nails, no qwerty keyboard and unable to use a stylus are perhaps the main negatives but small, stylish and a slot for a 2gb card are the positives. As yet, Samsung have only one game on the handset and I have been told that new ones may be available in the next 2 weeks to download. Would I recommend it? No, if you like a conventional keyboard with buttons (like my husband) Yes if you want something to say a statement, is cool and easy to use if you are prepared to give it a chance.

hey guys, I've got a question: Reading the gsmarena review about this phone, they talk about the "standard" and "extended" version. The difference being the extra bluetooth headset in the "extended" version. I can't seem to find the extended version ANYWHERE. No store, big or small has the extended version. Yes it is hard to text on. If you compare it to other touchscreen phones that only have finger input like the Prada this is more difficult. I swapped from the Prada to the Armani and I will definatly say the Prada is far easier to text on. The main problem is the size of the screen since it is a very compact phone, the keypad has no division between the keys so you often hit the wrong key. That said I have had this phone for over 2 months now and I've got used to the texting, but it is slow as you need to concentrate a bit more. I will however probably get the F480 when it comes out.

No, there's no pen. It's warm sensitive to your fingers and responce to them. A pen won't work on this type of screen.

To be honest if your a heavy texter I wouldn't get this phone. I used to own the Prada before the Armani and that was much easier to text on, but the phone itself feels cheap. Maybe worth looking at the new silver prada, as that now has a qwerty keypad as well.

to bring up the number list during a call. while on a call you press the hold key for 1 second to unlock the screen and then you can tap on the number screen on the bottom.

John: if the keypad is locked press and hold the hold button on the side of the phone. At the buttom of the screen whilst in the call there will be a keypad symbol at the bottom of the screen, you just need to press that.

How on earth can you get the music album artwork on the phone. ive used pc studio3 and win media payer to sync mp3s to the phone but the art work never comes with it. (when in mp3 mode, a picture of a cd disc is shown where the artwork should be!)

cymbalrocks: Yes it does come with a charger. Not sure about swapping it for from an iphone. If you want to use your phone for music and web browsing you cannot beat the iphone, I had a go of one the other day and was hugely impressed, the touch screen and response is far superior to the Armani. Would I have one, no as I wouldn't use half the features and I like small compact phones and you can't beat the Armani for that. And for the person who keeps asking about the document viewer, yes it has one as a background application, you won't find it in the menu but when you click on the appropriate file it will open it. The review of this phone on this sites home page shows it.

cymbalrock: Yes it does have a document viewer, although I haven't tried it. The specs list it capable of viewing .pdf .doc & .xls files. When not using the memory card it's not too slow, a slight lag but you get used to it. It's the memory card where the real slow issues are.

I have had teh pleasure of 1st owning a Samsung D500 and now a U700.The problem I have with the product though is that both phones in their + - 5 month of owning it the screen has given me problems and I have had to send for repairs ( fortunatley still under gaurentee so at no charge ) for fixing. Ive had this phone for only a week and im already at breaking point with it. its completely slow and non-responsive and no offence to any1 with large/fat fingers, you are NOT going to b able to navigate ur way around this or text AT ALL. ive small hands/fingers and txting on this phone is almost impossible. This is a beautiful looking phone, dnt get me wrong, but i didnt buy it to stare at it!...i bought it to txt mainly and make the occassional call as u would expect from a mobile phone. on the plus side u get beautiful accessories free with it. a lovely black cover for it, velvet pouch, free memory card etc. However, i feel i will return this, as im still in my "cooling off period".

It's not really designed for use with a stylus, I tried mine, it does react to pressure but you need to press hard and will probably end up damaging the screen. It's designed to react from your fingers only really, like the Prada phone.

The phone is great once you get used to it, at first the touch screen is very sensitive so takes time to know exactly where and how hard to press it. It's compact so fits in your suit pocket without dragging it down. And if your one of those people who are not always texting like mad then this is the phone for you.

Received mine earlier this week.. One superb-looking phone,even though I don't have to tell you that. Different kind of sexiness to that of the iphone( geek sexy tht is,don't be offended). oh yesh,it does deserve the Armani badge. Just don't expect much in terms of usability. I do think that this is aimed to those who only call and blessed with hundreds of minutes from their provider,since texting is unbelievably difficult.you are really prone to pressing the wrong button(?). It's not exactly slow as some mentioned,but you do get annoyed when you are in a rush. It does have some neat features,such as the expensive looking croix interface, the sos message and mobile tracker features,decent leather cover and 24months warranty. Do get this if you want one that goes with that expensive pair of jeans.

Got mine...and LOVE IT. Nicest looking phone out at the moment by a long way. Very stylish and classy looking and incredibley thin and if that's what you need from a phone, then you won't be dissapointed. Granted it isn't a phone jammed full of features, yet it isn't trying to be, it's easy to use...again it is slighlty slow in response time when navigating the menus, but looking at the phone I can easily let that go. It's beautiful. Presentation wise, it's first class, smart silky box, packed with branded accessories and certainly deserves the Armani branding.

It doesn't have a QWERTY keyboard, the screen is way too small for that. It has the usual phone key layout and it does have T9. Texting is pretty difficult as the on screen keys are pretty close together so you end up hitting the wrong key alot. I had the LG Prada before this and that was much easier to text on.

Its going back - Looks fantastic but works very slowly. To send a text message this is what you do (and the touchscreen is fiddly so you keep pressing wrong stuff and starting again!) Press activate press centre screen for menu press text message choose create message choose message and not email press add recipient choose phonebook recipient hit select scroll through phonebook four at a time keeps jumping to far back and forward so you cant find who you want select person you want to send to hit tick hit area to type message hit activate keyboard try texting leaving a second in between each letter (VERY FRUSTRATING!) WHeres the hammer. Honestly they might as well not have bothered.... It looks SO good though and the packaging is fantastic.

I've had this phone in the UK for a month now and I have to agree with gsmarena's review, it is a very beautiful and well built phone with a high quality feel to it. It's by no way a high tech phone, it has good standard features but it's not a smart phone and doesn't pretend to be one. I love the phone but my main complaint is how slow it is, there is always a slight lag from when touching the screen to it registering it, and reading from the memory card is painfully slow. And although the haptic feedback is very good, some bright spark decided not to use the function when your typing a phone number in or when your writing a text which is where you need it most.

to guest... u can adjust the touch sensitive options and just glance your finger off the screen, the reason why you might need to apply pressure on the screen its because its a default setting in which case its supposed to help limit the chances of the user committing unwanted actions

I've had this phone for almost two weeks now, absolutely love it, it is gorgeous and oozes quality when you have it in your hand, it feels sturdy and well built. Only downsides I have found so far is comapred to other new Samsung phones the processor seems very slow, reading off the memory card is painfully slow, not sure if anyone else has the same problem? My main problem is texting takes a lot of getting used to, I used to have the Prada which I found very easy and fast to text. The Armani is awkward as the keys are much smaller, you always end up hitting the wrong key unless you have tiny fingers! Oh and if anyone from Samsung is reading this, for the last time, PLEASE give your phones the option to ring and vibrate at the same time! Plus points, I have had some very good results with the camera, and the flash works reasonably well. Reception has always been good and the call quality has been clear. Battery life has been good so far, I normally top up my charge everyday, but I thought I'd see how long it lasts. I'm now on day three with moderate use and have only lost one bar.

To Samsung I am a firm follower and samsung lover but now i want to say as an advice. some of ur product is great like F700 but lack of something like WLAN,a high end video recording like VGA 30fps,5megapixel camera,video player like F500 maybe get it the best. P520 is like this.G800 is spoiled by bad resolution of video recording.F500 is great but video recording is in a bad resolution and no flash and also can't show message and other thing on the second LCD.On (i) series i love them specifically Windows mobile like i780 but make camera stronger on them. Until now i had T100,D500,D600,E900,i300 and now i have D900. make the OS of common handset better and smarter. F700 AND F520 are Ultra smart phone,Why? See some company like Nokia make an advantage handset like N95,E90,N81,N82,... that are complete.most of them have 3.5mm audio jack and WLAN but samsung's handset have this item very weak.Also LG has wiety and prada that very good and approximate complete. Every year make an approximate complete handset. Be the best.

I notice on the video that the touch requires a bit of pressure with the finger...same touch issue with the HTC touch that I have...not a iphone bias or anything (and I don't have an iphone), but the touch on the iphone is way better in the sense that it requires just slight tap on the screen...my opinion, the iphone touch screen has the better touch...

I changed my Prada for the Armani. Texting on the Prada took some getting used to but after a week I was texting just as fast as I was with a phone with keys. I will have to say though the Armani is much harder to text. The buttons are much smaller so if you have big fingers you will end up hitting the wrong key a fair bit. The operating sytem doesn't seem as quick as the Prada either which was surprising, it has trouble keeping up with the keystrokes. Flicking from one photo to another takes 3 seconds! I'm living with the downsides at the moment as the phone is stunning, if you put it next to the Prada, it makes the Prada look like a cheap plastic toy. It looks and feels so nice, and I suppose at the end of the day it is a fashion phone. There's an interesting review of the phone here..

No apology whatsoever. So i told that i wanted my refund back. I did not receive my refund of $480 until six (6) months later and that was i had to go thru american express. Of course exoticphone folks told american express that they never received the item from me. Okay, so i faxed amx the ups delivery notice to prove that exoticphone merchant signed for the receiving item. AMX made we additional 4 weeks on top of 6 months in order to let exoticphone folks make their reply, and they never replied to amx so amx did a charge back to their company. SAVE yourself grief and buy any phone elesewhere. OR if you want to buy from them, then remember to keep all the paper work at least 6 months just in case they try to scam you.

In the UK you can buy it here I used to have the P310 as well, which is one reason why I got this phone as apart from being a bit thicker it's the same size. It does come with a similar leather wallet but I haven't been able to confirm if it has the extra battery in it like the P310. Mine should turn up today or tomorrow so I'll let you know when it does.

I have the P310 which is a great phone. Does anyone know if the P520 Armani is using the same case/battery. It looks the same and the size of the 2 phones are pretty much similar. My P310 can easily last for 1+ week with no recharge as it has 2 batteries....mobile battery plus case battery

Samsung IS NOT an innovative company. At least with a lot of their phones. Samsung has been "copying" LG and is started with LG's Chocolate. That's when Samsung decided to make the E900. Then, when LG made the Shine, Samsung released the E840 and also used this design in the U700. And then the Prada, where Samsung is yet to release the F520, F700, and Armani.

If you want a good camera and video you can't beat the viewty, the mp3 player is pretty good on it as well. However it is twice the size of the Armani. Personally I like small phones, I mainly text and call so the Armani is the perfect phone for me. I used to have the P300 which is pretty much the same size as the Armani.

I work for a uk network and we just had our 2008 Q1 product 'fair' with the main manufacturers all showing us their phones. This was far and away the best phone i have ever seen.. it's looks are awesome. jaw droppingly so. it's TINY, the touchscreen is utter quality with a glass like feel, no spongy give like the LG Viewty. in fact, this phone is like the LG/Prada after having been on a complete rebuild - this is no brick, it's beautiful and the haptics keypad is perfectly fresponsive for fast accurate texting - i loved this phone!!! someone behind me was playing on the 8gb nokia N95 and i just couldnt be bothered. 2008 really looks set to herald the end of the brick phone!! if you dont fancy spending the ���'s on an iphone, get this instead.

And if anyone says get the Prada, they don't keep up with current events, as the LG KS20 is available shortly which is in the same case as the Prada, but much higher specs that the Prada & Samsung. Although I HATE Armani with a passion, I quite enjoy this cheeky little phone. I have been thinking about buying the P-310, but considering all the mixed reviews and the fact that it isn't available in shops puts me off. this little thing, however might be worth looking at. i would work in the us but not with at&t. coz the at&t uses the 850mhz frequency in some areas. however, the phone will definitely work woth t-mobile.

The above poster has posted incorrect information: 'triband' 900/1800/1900 will work in the US. Most of the US uses 1900 with some areas using 850. I have had triband phones since I've come to the US years ago with little to no issue. Don't perpetuate incorrect information, this phone, AS WELL AS THE LG PRADA, *will* work in the US.

From my experience with Samsung phones, in one way or another, they always have different problems....i.e. short battery life; short talk time; quiet ring and low volume; weak reception; extremely slow switching from one provider to another when you travel(by car) from one city to another; bad sound quality & they don't last long before something goes wrong! I don't like their interface nor manu either... The positive points are the nice screen & camera. The LG Prada has got to be a better phone cause the design look more beautiful, the screen is big & clear, excellent interface with very clear icons, clear & loud sound quality, very strong reception & the standby/talk time much longer than this Armani. I was so surprised to have found that LG can produce such a nice phone. Wish the Prada phone was made from metal & the screen with hardened glass!

I don't even think those new touchscreen phone are copying each other. It is just a new wave, new era, new technology that passes on from one firm to another. Apple came up with the iphone, LG with the Prada and now Samsung with the armani phone. All depends on what you're looking for, we can't all like nor dislike the same thing. I for one like samsung's software better than the LG. I was thinking of buying the prada but was still wondering because of the somewhat "fragile" construction of it. The iphone looks good and consistent but it is way too big for me. It's up to you to find what exactly you're looking for. All companies have different flavors!

It seems to me that, more of these phone company + fashion company integrated phones coming out in the future, and clearly, this isn't a great idea because all it does is bringing up the price and making it more common. Soon, Burberry, Gucci, LV, Ferragamo, Boss phones will come. Samsung always does this; eg. LG brought out Chcolate phone and Samsung brought out a slightly better spec E900 which wasn't as good in real life in terms of usability. Prada phone was unique in its area and Samsung will just cross the line and ruin it.

I, for one, am excited that this will be the Giorgio Armani phone. I mean, it's not as high class as Prada but the technical specifications are much better. There's not much chance of it but I hope it becomes Emporio Armani branded instead of Giorgio Armani. The eagle would look great on it. Plus it would make it somewhat cheaper.

Actually, the P300 & P310 were very attractive phones from thedesign point of view. It's just too bad that Samsung screwed up the rest.....i.e. weak battery, weak reception, weak volume, sound quality so so, screen/icon & some fonts are too small, interface too slow reaction and because of the weak reception & extremely slow search for network; switching from one network to another network in automatic or manual can take forever !!!

people keep saying that samsung copied the lg prada mobile. well that is just stupid. this is an improved version of p310 which was out way before the prada one. i like this mobile, its much more sophisticated than the "calculator-looking" p300 or p310. saying that, i do have a p310 and im fine with the battery. just try to keep it off the case for as long as possible.

Do not compare this phone to the Prada/iPhone and then simply dismiss this phone. What many people take for granted is just how SMALL this phone really is. It is amazing just how Samsung have managed to yet again, cram all the technology into something the size of a credit card (in 2 Dimensions anyway) - plus the phone is waffer thin!!! So you're getting pretty much Prada/iPhone functionality and screen quality (plus a higher res camera) for a fraction of the size! That is truly amazing! I love my P310 - it has it's drawbacks but when you are dealing with such a small device, you have to be more forgiving rather than expect Samsung to defy the laws of physics! Here is a list of items I would like to see Samsung resolve in the P520 (over the P310): - Play video/mp3s straight off the memory card withough having to copy them over - Faster Bluetooth transfer (this should be resolved with 2.0) - A better (full) Java implemetation thus allowing wider access to games (currently this is quite restrictive) - Quicker access to files on memory card (this is way too slow at the moment) - Provide some anti-blur function that prevents pics taken from blurring - A better flash (pictures in low light conditions are very poor ATM) - Better loudspeaker if possible - A much better brighter backlight display (currently, if you go out in bright conditions, you cannot read the display. Something like the N95 would be good which detects poor/bright light conditions) - Real HTML web access, via horizontal display - Much much better headphones please!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Samsung, give the P520 microSDHC compatability... Also please enable MP3 and MPEG4 playback from subfolders on card. We want a "play all" option in each folder tier, and fullscreen video playback from card. With the 8gb microSDHC cards coming out soon, the P520's ability to compete with iPhone and like models will rely on smooth and smart access to user-expanded memory. A new OS/UI wouldnt hurt either (perhaps Symbian?).

guys i was going to buy this phone until i see someone who owns one. the screen is f.cked up with scratchs and and fingerprints. you wait about 4 seconds to get into messages. i will buy w960. great with cam and 8gb HDD also touchscreen and has keyboard in case you use when you are on move. furthermore, isn't as expensive as N95 or this phone.

As a guy, there seems to be a never ending search to reduce the amount of junk you have to carry around, Phone, Camera, MP4 Player, Car keys, Blackberry, Money Clip and Wallet being the most common. If I had to rack my brains for a way to make this phone better, I would suggest including a fingerprint reader and Mobile Suica. The challenge for Samsung would be partnering with auto makers and merchants to add a reader in all new cars and shops respectively.

Is it just me...but it isn't intelligent to bash phones for looking like another. I could care less if this was called the SAMSUNG PRADI or PRADO...if it is a better built machine, I will purchase it. Has common sense gone out the window? Good Job Samsung, this phone look cool. When will you release 1 phone with 2 sim cards, most people in South East Asia carry more then 1 phones with them, not so good. I realy need 1 phone with 2 Sim Card :_(

Anybody have any idea if the battery from the P520 is the same size as the one in the P310 coz if so, that wouild be excellent as its more powerful than the bat in the p310, which is the only thing that lets it down.

well looks wise its good, but its neither a complete pda nor a complete cellphone, i mean it hsud have 3g, hsdpa, higher resolution, & if possible shud have gps. by the time this comes out the htc kaiser will be selling like hot cakes, samsung shud think about future......!!!!!!!!!!

almost perfect. i think what will push me away from samsung is the consistent triband instead of quad for us ameicans. other than that, 5 mp camera, 3g, and vga screen resolution would be nice. also to view internet in html format a +

It looks pretty nice, but my biggest peeve with a lot of newer phones are the lack of Quad Band support. Any phone that sports PDA or business features should be a "world phone", no ifs or buts about it. Come on, if there's a quad band SLVR, this should be Quad!

this phone isnt good. even though its a touch screen... samsung touchscreens are just like regular phones, except everything is replaced witha touchscreen. for exampple.. the E898. was a horrible touch phone.. being an EXOWNER of it. BY THE TIME THIS COMES OUT.. THE NOKIA N95 or the HTC TOUCH or the P1 would be out and even the nokia n95 and htc touch would be price dropped by the time this phone comes out ne ways. ID GO FOR NOKIA N95 OR The htc touch if i were the buyer of this phone =P. good luck.

Tkvn do u know what3G and Hsdpa or whats its name is. u people are just so silly asking for features u'll never use and probly wouldn't recognise even if the phone had them. samsung has brought a sexy phone and i like it very much. i have a samsung and it works great and i can only assume that this will work just as great cuz samsung fones have longevity.

if it comes at a very cheap price it will be a good phone,but if expensive it will result being poor: not 3g(only 1camera without flash), cellular only(not smartphone), not Ired(forget changing tv channels with it,ja),view documents but edit them on a pc,don't need such display to watch tiny qcif movies(se k310's display seems to be enough),but good for browsing internet using wi-fi at least. I've been wondering why this phone has WiFi, but no 3G or Windows Mobile, becouse if that phone has samsung's own operating system, the Wifi is useless. And i can see the Samsung's desingner's have wanted to create a rival phone model to iPhone and LG Prada, but it faild badly... But it just my opinion

well well well.... nice design, touchscreen is good,(i do have moto ming, i like touch screen phones) size is small, (i think the screen size is 2.4" which is good if ever.) specs are better than my motorola a1200. i'm going to save my money now for this phone. hope i'm gonna like it, but accoring to the specs, i'm gonna like it.. lolzz question: does the camera have a flash?

This is a great phone- the one I have been waiting for. Originally I liked the iPhone and the Prada, but I wanted something smaller and just overall something that looks smarter. The previous 2 P series credit card phones had been good, but there was always something I disliked about the design. This design however is spot on. Well done Samsung, will start saving now and buy it as soon as it comes out.

very nice, just-touchscreen-phones are gonna be great ;> just add Symbian, remove camera, or just make version w/ and w/o it to choose cuz not everybody is interested in mobile's camera and would want cheaper phone instead ;-) Still, its a good start for Samsung ;-)
