I tried with the phone options but still and so I guess this is faulty. If anyone can help me on this, it would be highly appreciated. Thnx md

  • Hello iam looking for a battery of Samsung B2700.I dont want to pay so much price. Thanks

  • Hello im interisting for your samsung b2700.i have that phone but no battery.that why im looking for a phone that not so much price.i just want the battery.thank you

  • why do users complain about every phone they use. i've been using samsung b2700 for several months and do not see any problem with it. no phone's perfect. users should stop complaining. they can't have everything in a phone. i bought this phone due to its durability and torch light. i'll not regret having this phone.

  • i lve that mbile

  • I love the outdoors very much and this phone is perfect for me. The problem is that it has been phased out in the Philippines. Can anybody tell me where i can purchase this phone.... Thanks & Godspeed

  • i have this phone as as trial from a provider for about 2 years now. its the best phone i ever had. number 2 to the berry. i love this phone, unfortunately i broke my face(not the screen) where can i get a face, please its hard to part with this phone.

  • i love this phone where can i bye this phone in saudi arabia please if anyone knows please inform me

  • What a great phone. Shockproof, waterproof, dustproof, nice and loud and fairly easy to use. Pitty I didn't go for the optional extra of a mobile phone tower in my front yard. Companies such as 3 should be held accountable for pushing such phones on business owners who rely so much on them. The worst phone as far as reception I have ever owned.

  • I brought The Samsung B2700 in November 2010 .And by December i had to take it back to the shop.As it constantly turned itself off. Also when travelling in the car the signal would drop out.Its ashame really as it was a nice phone. The shop gave me another phone.

  • These phones are definitely shockproof. I should know because mine has been hurled at the floor several times due to 3's ATROCIOUS network coverage. Ever receive a text then lose all coverage seconds later so you can't reply? Welcome to 3.

  • plz reply urgently! what is its sms memory?

  • Oh dear, thanks to you I got my B2700 back to use! Had the same problem. Phone shutting down all the time. Apparently disabling the pedometer fixed it. I wonder if they have any firmware upgrade which would fix this problem?

  • I have had this phone for almost a year and found it to be OK! The screen broke a while back but it still works OK! I love the extra loud ring tones as in my line of work its needed! (construction site) The one thing I do hate is having to turn off word prediction on every SMS I send! thats a real pain in the a#$e! But over all I have found it to be a good all round phone! Also have dropped it and even thrown it to show mates how tough it was on a number of occasions and still no damage! the screen broke in my pocket when my hammer hit it while squeezing between a tight space! Bretty

  • Mate i hope it ends better with you than me. i had mine for 2 months and it went in 3 times for repair for internal problems. it would turn itself off, freeze on imcoming calls. i have drop outs all the time when my wife is next to me also on 3 and she has full reception. i would not recommend this phone to anyone. i had the phone replaced and 5 months later i'm having the same issues. as for the phone calls droping out one thing i know is that because the airial is in the butt of the phone you had to be sure you didnt' have you hand on it as it blocks the signal. my phone was droping out whilst in a cradle so ppl dont buy

  • maybe aj your message consisted of two many pages i.e it could be very long the longer th message the higher the price

  • 3 months after warranty expired experiencing issue of phone freezing with random digits appearing in black box on screen began during this time. When this black box appears no calls or sms can get through - have tested this by trying to call mu mobile when this happens. It seems to happen for no reason and can't be removed unless you turn the mobile off and then on. Very frustrating.

  • Problem of phone dropping out and other person not being able to hear me only began after 15 months of use (i.e. 3 months after warranty expired). Also issue of phone freezing with random digits appearing in black box on screen began during this time. When this black box appears no calls or sms can get through. Very frustrating especially as warranty has only recently run out. The standard Nokias lasted longer.

  • To all those who are comlaining about their phone dropping out. Did you consider for even a second it could be your network? I have had this phone for a month now with no dropouts! Provider is "3"

  • Yes I have same problem, just now for the second time. The first time it was inside of warranty period and I sended phone to the servis, second time hapened after three months. At that time I decided to drop this phone away.

  • switch of delivery report option

  • I have my T9 off, try "input method".

  • Only when connect via bluetooh. Happens everytime I start the ser bluetooh speaker.

  • Y is it that when I type txt it allways sends it in two, three or more txts. It always asks me first. goes thru to person I sending it to as one txt, but I get charged for how many txts it says? Can I stop this happening.

  • i think this is a amazing website they are practically giving theese phones away at this price!!!!!

  • Trying to figure out how to do "predictable text". Can anyone help?

  • hi there, Just wondering if anyone else has had any of the following issues: Incoming calls then phone freezes then resets itself, sitting untouched then phone turns itself on then back on. I am experiencing these issues on a regular basis 3 weeks after insurance has run out. Thanks

  • Can we change themes on this phone or can get a theme like B2100

  • My biggest problem with this phone is, not as much as reception, but the mounting connection for the charger, which is located on the side and can not be plugged in when the phone is in my car phone cradle. Further more the same connecting point is used for portable hands free, which is useless when the phone is on a lennard b/c it constantly becomes unplugged. Just a bad design.

  • Well, I've been using this mobile for more than 1.5 year and I must say that I'm really satisfied with it. The battery lasts numerous days even though I use it a lot and the flash light has been a real saviour on numerous occasions. The problem with connection a lot of you mention is very common for Samsung UMTS mobiles. The problem is that sometimes they don't switch between GSM and UMTS signal fast enough, when there is poor reception. The solution is very simple - just set your mobile on GSM mode only and that should solve the problem - though that means you won't be able to make video calls...

  • During messaging if you press the volume button then the text size increases/decreases

  • this phone is crap dont buy it , Poor reception

  • Do you jnow something about the next product from this series. Have anyone heard something, are they willing to make some more. Because I will really enjoy some "iron" phone like this one, but with GPS and Wi_fi? Greetings.

  • is it possible to change the size of the text font? deactivate of the torchlight will be of a great help to me. can any one help on that?

  • I'm jusst looking at getting one of these phones with optus and i was wondering if it will work on their dual band network.

  • in india on a vodafone card will i get full signal

  • I think that if you press # (or if it is *) when you start writing a new message you get the option to turn off the T9...

  • Ingenious!

  • w3ater

  • I have been reading some recent comments and up till this time i have not had any major issues. One annoying thing is when texting the phone seems to have a locked in t9 which i hate. Can the t9 be over written? Voice sound is mostly clear and have not experienced any drop out in the melbourne area. If you want everything in a tough trade phone be prepared to spend good money to get quality. The seimens m65 was the better of the early trade phones but with less features than the b2700 but that was a few years ago now. I guess the question is do seimens (or benq now) have a trade phone available in australia?

  • I am an electrician and I think this phone is crap.. drops out in good coverage areas in Brisbane... just a waste of my money..

  • Mine drops out a lot as well! I think its the Ruggerised enclosure that must be blocking the signal. Can you boost up the antennas on these phones?

  • Mine drops out all the time as well, and I don't remember my old phone ever dropping out. The other thing it does is resets itself for no reason. I get a Black and White screen saying enter Pin. Annoying! Love the torch function!

  • Reception is very poor! Swapped the sim to my N95 and full service! Put it back in the B2700 and 1/2 signal strength. Calls drop out every day on the B2700 and never on the N95 or any other 3G handset. They need to be recalled! Driving me nuts!!! and I am not the only one dealing with this fault.

  • I'd agree with that on at least one significant, less helpful aspect of it's messaging. My example is that when someone SMSes me a mobile phone number as SMS body text I am not able to use the received number from the SMS bodytext a.k.a. 'use number' Nokia-style. I am not talking about Reply To or Add to Contacts for the Sender number. I instead find myself writing the received number down or remembering it and keypressing it into the B2700 myself. Such heiristics for detecting numbers in SMS body text is important for not leaving a user stranded looking at their phone and wondering where they are going to get a pen from! It's not unusual to send a number to someone in this fashion, say, from a sales ad you wouldn't dream of putting into your Address book in order to send vcard or something to someone else so they can use the number.

  • In form factor it is rugged I guess but it needs to be to compensate for the screen quality on this phone! The screen - the most important feature of a phone - is on this model dull in light, scuffs easily and scratches too easily for something claiming to be a rugged phone. Let's call it a dust-proof phone instead shall we.

  • It's not just the Pedometer. I have never activated a single thing except perhaps the Compass so it must be a generic Applications issue or Pedometer and Compass ... i recovers in seconds but I can watch my screen reboot more than 10 times a day though doesn't appear to lose any settings except once or twice ever the profile reverted to default settings notably the key press sounds led me to believe this as it's the first thing I switch off.

  • Can't work out why there is a reception problem. tryed an old faithful SGH-X460 and that has only got Duel Band GSM 900 + 1800MHz, and works well in areas the B2700 doesn't. So how can one go backwards nowadays, come on Samsung ... i know its not the provider.

  • As far as reception goes its really crap talk about going backwards in technology, this phone doesn't have 2100 HSDPA on the 3G network...feel sucked in...yeh us too...

  • So far the phone has been good and the battery life is improved if you disable the 3g. As i said before this is a good phone for tradies. more updates later

  • samsung only needs to add gps and symbian os on it

  • I have this samsung b2700 for 1 week now and i find it fairly good to use. I have no issues with it so far but i would like to know how can you extend the battery life. For example can this phone be switched from 3g to 2g to save power and can the gprs be deactivated and activated through the main menu. I'm a tradie and the sound level is good but need to know how to get the maximum sound when on loud speaker. The only main concern is when you keep pressing the ''back'' botton you end up surfing the net. Can this icon be moved on the to another place on the home page or removed all together? Consider the b2700 if you are a tradie and you dont really need all the other crap.

  • I hope you read this since its been some months since you posted this. I experienced the exact same problem with my B2700 and not anyone seemed to know how to fix this " restart- problem ", no one but You. I deactivaded that Pedometer and all of sudden it works perfectly again like it used to work in 6 months. Thank you, youre the man!

  • p l e a s e if someone tell me how to turn of t9 ??? there is no way to do this and it is so annoying t h a n k s !!!

  • great me 2

  • i love this phone it turns me on like my boyfriend

  • Gee, you don't happen to work for Samsung do you. You sound like you write ads for their marketing dept.

  • I had this phone for exactly 2 days (!), then it fell out of my pocket (about 80 cm drop) onto a gravel road (NOT EVEN CONCRETE!) and the screen broke ... and now it looks as samsung refuses to exchange the phone for free ... so that is what they sell to us stupid customers as a "RUGGEDIZED" and "SHOCKPROOF" handset. I am soooooo dissapointed by samsung, because i really like their phones, but this is unaccepatable. so, here is my resume over this product: THIS PHONE IS DEFINITELY NOT SHOCKPROOF, NO MATTER WHAT THE SAMSUNG COMERCIALS SAY!!! DON'T BUY THIS HANDSET IF YOU WANT A SHOCKPROOF PHONE!!! SO LONG S*U*C*K*E*R*S!!! THIS WAS DEFINITELY THE LAST SAMSUNG PHONE I BOUGHT!!!

  • Chuck Norris uses this phone.

  • Not yet.

  • Doesn't work chief.

  • Is this handset Samsung B2700 available in India. The samsung B2100 explorer is available, but not sure about this one. Please let me know Thanks

  • sure it has a calculator

  • does it have calculator

  • I have had my phone now for about 6 months. In as far as durability goes I have no problems with it. I've dropped it a couple of times as I have been taking it out of my pocket or getting out of the car and it survived without even a scratch. As a tradesman I don't need and don't use much of the other features. What I do need it for however, making and recieving calls, it fails miserably. I have had it back to Samsung once for repairs however no faults were found. I have taken it back again today so fingers crossed. It seems to regularly freeze, reception is scratchy at best and calls drop out frequently. My next phone will not be a Samsung if these problems persist. I will keep you updated.

  • how can you set the altimeter to the correct start position.mine shows -140 meter, should be on this actual position 28 meter. do not find any way to adjust. some one can help me here ?

  • just bought the phone, seems exact what I need for hiking. looks very solid. wondering how people can break off parts of this phone

  • it says that have altimeter which is top altitude?

  • I bought the phone just to weeks ago. The can-clip broke the first time I attached it to my phone and let it dangle from my pants. Lucky I caught the phone before it droped to the floor. Then the screen broke in my pocket just today. Not exactly what I expected considering the phone is meant to be rugged!

  • i have have so many phones in my time always working outdoors.i have the so called best brands. and as for them all i can say the samsung b2700 is the best so far. but with everything these day have there good & bad

  • dropped this phone in a tent and the screen broke - so much for being tough!

  • To extend battery life, press *#7288# this will deactivate gprs reception. In the network menu, turn off 3g.

  • Where I can purchase it?? What is the best site to get it from??

  • Well where do I start, keeps dropping out, most of all that disc you get to down load your photos keeps telling me my photo doesn't have the capability , so it tells me to down load it from samsung site so i did ,but no it cost me money to down load crap which don't work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i like dis handset.can anx1 tell me where would i get it?

  • I have a B2700 and after 2 months of use it started freezing / crashing / rebooting as soon as I would move a little rapidly : walking or lifting it normally was enough ! After long research and trial and error I found out that disactivating the Pedometer (Applications > Pedometer) stoped the crashes. Re-enabling the pedometer would recreate the crashing problem reproducably. I have fixed this problem permanently by resetting (deleting) the Pedometer data. I guess beyond a certain number of steps the memory is full and overflows into the system as soon as a "step" is detected, causing a system reboot.

  • i also cannot change my message tone all it does is vibrate wich i do not even relise as its a work fone and never in my pocket

  • Excellent phone for hard, outdoors usage. I never worry with taking it to the beach or water sports or while biking. You can hang it by your belt and use it as a pedometer. The compass also works fine. My biggest surprise was how loud this phone can ring, which is way more than any other phone I've ever used, including old SIEMENTS rugged phones. Some people may not like the small screen and the 2.0MP camera, but you don't get such a phone for the looks or the typical features of a mobile phone, you get it so you can use it outdoors. The only cons I can find are the extra weight (though not too heavy) and some functions in the menu, which are not as good as in other samsung phones.

  • U had bad luck thats all. All phones can have problems, including Nokia , yes nokia its not perfect. I got for 3 months now.. i tested myself on all situations, and... still going. Best Regards, Josh

  • The good.. -good looks and feel -zippy through menus -powerful torch The bad... -crap battery life -freezes regularly -asks "ok?" after everything you do, drives me crazy -bad messaging experience Overall, I think samsung is far behind nokia in usability. I owned a 6300 before, and everything can be modified to suit you, and its so easy to use. The samsung on the other hand can be so frustrating to use, it struggles to achieve good results in some of the easy tasks it shoud fly through! Don't make the same mistake and buy this phone, wait till nokia bring out their new rugged phone

  • Its a Pure waste of money. Using this model i have decide never to use samsung in my life. also samsung service centres shiould be renamed samsung torture centres.

  • the best phone i have ever owned

  • ***DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE*** - Within 1 month of purchase it was at Samsung Repair shop. Loss of incoming signal/Break Out signal - sounds like a burst in your ear/Silly Menu and fiddly not user friendly in general/Lacks proper design thought/For example to plug in your headset you need to latch open that fiddly plastic bit on the side - Once the headset in - the fidddle bit is like in an odd position can get caught into something and makes the phone look as "cheap design" - Battery life Talk Time on GSM *NO WHERE NEAR as STIPULATED* I don't know about in 3G Mode - Buttons not well placed hanging up phone makes you accidentally push the browser launch button - Why!?! - This phone is anything but a failure from design inception to actual production. You'd think with all the technologies available you'd get a decent reception - Don't count on it buddy! Anyways - This was my first SAMSUNG product ever, if they can't get a mobile phone right then I am sure they can't get right many other things. Some customer chick called me after the repair to find out if I was satisfied with the customer service. Yes very satisfied, they told me they would get back to me in 2 days and they did, they also told me my phone would be ready next day, it was ! - When she said from a scale 1 to 10 would you recommend Samsung to your friends - I said 0 (zero). Enough said!

  • it' s greate..i mas into the sea for 2 hours and the phone war ringing inside the watter...exellent...buy or bust....from the wonderful greece samsung for ever.............

  • Hello friend, I got this phone and i also tested it before i had sure this would be my new phone. I can asure you that pictures are amazing for 2 MP only. You have a lot of great things on this marvelous phone Batery can last 4 days. almost perfect, if it had GPS. Best Regards, jmr

  • How to set Bluetooth for receiving pics and sounds on memory card.

  • I have the same problem with the 3200ls carkit - phone reboots and hangs. Any real solution is appreciated. Meanwhile, I'll stick to the reset-workaround. Fortunately there's the workaround...

  • To read what in the review : "Bear in mind also that it's a beta version, so image quality could still improve." - it is from the review, you can check it. That's why I'm asking someone who owns this phone, what is hes opinion about the pictures and what effect they have on the battery live

  • read the review

  • Hello, Could anyone tell me how is the camera on this phone? I mean does it have a auto-focus? How is the pictures like? Thanks in advance.

  • how many sms can it store?

  • All this time ive been thinking the Samsung Bound was the most magical phone on the market, that was until I discovered the Samsung E410!! Not only a fantastic shell look, but it also doubles up as a toilet seat!! The features are also excellent: GPRS: No. HSCSD: No. Edge: No. 3G: No. WLAN: No. Bluetooth: No. Infrared Port: No. Camera???? Dont be stupid. GPS? No. SPEAKERPHONE!?!?! no....

  • Great phone!!!! had it three months now, and cant fault it. i am a powdercoater by trade. deals with very fine dusty particals (think of flour in the air), day in and day out. Previous phone (6110n)had to be pulled apart and cleaned every night! didnt last 6 months. Not with this baby, clean as the day i bought it, no powder anywhere in the battery compartment or under the sim. I am also an avid 4wd enthusist and this thing has been dropped in mud and all sorts, love just bein able to rinse it off. not great on the features, but onn hell of a tough phone!

  • You mean smg like a GPS Navigator? The answer is no... This is smg which is very important and if Samsung include GPS in the next version or some software as Simbian/ Windows Mobile it will be just great. But for now I can not find some info for the upcoming models from this category. I must say that I'm rather disappoint from there latest Samsung ( B2100 I think ) because it is weaker that this model... Anyway I think I will buy this phone because I do some outdoor activity, which can harm my phone, not so often but anyway it happens and I will be happy if I can rely on my phone.

  • does the b2700 have a navigator?

  • Hi, Does this phone has this function to lock some parts of the phone( memory card, sms...) as Samsung L700 do?

  • i know what you feel. i deleted all wap profiles to avoid unwanted connections. but it is better than previous samsung phones, like sgh-u300 did not let to choose between sim and phone memory. and there were no option to have ringing + vibrating together. maybe there were more not understandable options before. but this b2700 is super.

  • it has 5 separate alarms, for each you can choose on what days it is active, and ring tone and snooze and volume level.

  • Are there any one aware of Protocol Stack and RF platform is used with Samsung in general and with this handset in particular ? Thanks

  • I've also run into problems with the phone repeatedly rebooting itself. A fix that seems to work is doing a hard reset by entering the following code into the phone (after you've backed up your contacts and other data, of course): *2767*3855# This appears to reset the phone to factory settings on a deeper level than the "Master reset" option available in the menu, and appears to (at least temporarily) fix the problem.

  • I received this phone from Samstore in Ill., and I did not know at the time the phone was coming from the UK. Last week the phone began to reboot quite often. This will cause you to drop a call. The phone keeps going back to when the phone is first turned on and begins to search for a tower. I e-mailed Samsung in the U.K., three times now. They gave me the name, phone number, and address to their repair location. I made three international calls to end up listening to a recording and being placed on hold. I never was able speak to anyone and they have not responded to my four e-mails.

  • hello i'm thinking about getting this phone can someone please tell me what the virate alert is like in silent mode and when silent mode is off , when receiving a text message and call , thanks

  • Played with a B2700 in a 3 shop here in the UK while looking for something more sophisticated. However, I was actually quite impressed! Very very fast (snappier and easier to navigate than my S8300 Tocco 2), full of useful outdoor features and great industrial design. What really did it was the speed and ease of navigation of the interface. Proves my/our? belief that the DPad is the best way to quickly achieve a task on a hand held device - no touch screen can match it.

  • I too have this problem with the phone, it freezes regularly but until i read your post had not realised it was mainly when connected to the parrot ck3200. The phone will just freeze and then reboot

  • Hello, I have two questions: How long the battery of this phone lasts? I mean it's 1300 mAh - which is a lot, and the display is quite small. The second one is a bit strange ;-) Even if the phone do not have any OS, as Symbian or Windows Mobile did anyone have tried to run on this phone a GPS? I know that the display is small but anyway with additional device via Bluetooth maybe its possible... or maybe not ;-) I really like this phone but sometimes the GPS is really handy, specially of you are somewhere in the mountains.

  • Its a phone for Tradesmen... most of them don't care about Wifi or GPS... maybe GPS to get to the job but other than it is just a simple tougher than normal phone.

  • this is a good phone but why would i need wifi are you mad what are you going to conect to in the wilds or out and about its an adventure phone not a possing phone and wifi is cak any way

  • Did you see the new Samsung B2700 Xplorer I'm rather dissapointed, small display and weaker Cam than the B2700 model ,. I can not see any new major features in the new model ;-(

  • Friend uses Microsoft GPS plotter software on his phone. He just did a 1200 plot of Scotland and it was bang on. Dont know how it works but fantastic and can be used on most phones.

  • Well, maybe in the next version of this phone Samsung will include GPS and/or Wi-fi. GPS for let say mountains will be just great. or maybe dual Sim card phone ... Anyway is there anyone who knows when we can expect the next generation of B2700?

  • Great phone! But why not GPS? Why not WiFi? Then it will be the greatest phone. Samsung add this fast!

  • Im on here to read reviews of a phone that I might get free with my upgrade, whats this clowns excuse. I expect the odd sad loner on game forums but to be in here posting rubbish must really mean your made it..yes you have no life. Back to reality is there any problems with this phone, I really need something that will last as and Ive been through a few phones due to hard nocks. In and out of yachts around windsurfing out in the elements and playing with the wee one.

  • In combination with the Parrot CK3100 handsfree kit via Bluetooth, after you have been called and the phone automatically locks, then the phone reboots spontaneously. Anyone got this problem?

  • Disappointed! I bought a Samsung B2700 a month ago - and now it keeps shuting off, rebooting, freezing - major softwear issues. I returned it a week ago to get it repaired, still waiting to get it back. hopefully it will work better then... Not recommended!!!

  • Hello, I wonder when Samsung will issued their next model from this unbreakable phones. I mean if their put on the market the next model with GPS it will be just great - specially if you are going somewhere in the mountains. Here in Bulgaria the prize is around 160-170 Euro.

  • First of all: As i mentioned before this is the best outdoor handy on the market, for those people which need a phone for diving don't buy it, its splashresistant, not waterproof ;) I will give the phone (in answer to the 4 mark Posting) in each a clear 1. To answer the question about the message tone, you can change by entering the profile selection and then press options, select edit in the menu and go the the tab for the messages, here you can change the tone. I really like my B2700

  • how four instance in this phone(B2700)?: 1/quality & height sound. 2/battery life. 3/speed software. 4/keyboard. whom have this phone. tank you...

  • in Serbia price for this model is 150-200EURO. is this phone good or not?

  • I just wanted to know how to change the incoming message tone, i can't work out how to do, i have looked everywhere, can anyone help?

  • I can not confirm that the sound is bad or metallic, Sound is much better than on the 5140i. Synchronizing with Outlook is absolutly not a problem, the Samsung PC Studio 3 (which is include in the package) has its own synchronizing Funktion for Dataexchange with Outlook, Furthermore you also can export or Import from a csv (comma seperated Values) File or a .wab (Windows Address Book, vCard (vcf) or vCalendar vcs. Its more a modern successor to the old Nokia 6510 than to the 5140, the 5140 was not really ruggedized. Compared with a lot of other Cell Phones the B2700 has a ligtspeed reacting Userinteface. Only thing i missing is a dezibel meter, temperature meter and a menu Point for Systeminformation such as Firmeware Version or Akku Voltage. For me this is the long waited for Replacement for my 5140 wich hs getting a bit long in the tooth.

  • I have bought this phone 3 days ago and it is really great but I have one problem - incoming call sound is metal, like something is wrong. Am I only one or there is someone with that problem to? Go to shop to fix it or..?

  • yep

  • I hope this will be a nice up dato for my nokia 5140. I'll try use a nokia E65, but it its very fragile. only survive 1 month :(. but i have 1 qestion. some onde knouns if is possibe sincronize this phone with micrisotf outlook? (i have my contact list from my E65 in this softhare )

  • my battery last me over a week

  • im just waitn to get my hand on this phone, i think its so beautiful, cause we barbarians like hard things!

  • Just receive my B2700 2 days ago.. Really nice phone, more thin than the XP1 with more applications, more memory and memory capabilities... Just one bad point for the moment: 'im still unable to install java applications. Can transfer the .jar via BT or data cable, but file type is not recognize. I've seen this: they explain that only transfers by wap works to install java application... Anyone heard of that, or have you been able to install any stuff by another way than wap?

  • where did you get your samsung phone from can you supply contact details

  • got from expansys uk ok phone my opinion sonim xp1 better.got sony c702 as well ok differnt types of tough phone, specs ultimate b2700 and c702 sonim ranks for me only downside price also in short supply.xp3 hope it lives up to the hype.b2700 good phone so is the sony cheaper and more bells and whistles on both like all 3 .xp1 no nonsense talk and text, c702,b2700 high tech and quad band. you choose / battery good on all and construrtion.

  • Got it yesterday

  • it cam be bought from Swiss and Germany. i hope it will be available soon in Romania to.

  • nope. just silence. maybe in the stores for christmas.

  • Any update on the release date??????

  • Not able to add link GSMArena are blocking me not sure why.

  • Where did you get that info from???

  • Expected release date 24 Oct 08 for UK 169.99

  • Amazon Germany price is 165.99 euros.Anyone come across the Sonim XP3 or has experience with the Airo A25?

  • Its fully compatible with MS Outlook & Outlook Express

  • Does anyone know if it's possible to sync it with MS Outlook on the PC?

  • On the market there are a lot of rugged PDA and smart phones with military specs but we speak about accessible handsets for average user. I will not use this phone on oil platform or in Irak war, but for sure I will use it when hunting or mountaineering or going fishing. So hit the market Samsung 2700!

  • Sonim XP3 kicks this phone off!!! I hope gsmarena will also feature it here, although it's likely to be since XP1 was featured.. Fantastic fantastic phone, super rugged and with better features now.. I hope it wouldn't be too expensive..

  • Has just been estimated to hit the danish market around week 47, so late november. I think many other countries will have it there aswell

  • Still no word on UK launch. Was in Romania & Moldova this year .Fantastic countries

  • The phone is announced on samsung web sites in Germany, Holland and France, but not in UK. I am in Romania, so it will pass centuries until I will be able to buy it from here.

  • I hear you.Lets hope we can get our hands on it soon.

  • Heard its 170.00 but no confirmation yet. Phones for use in rural activities/military/police or adventure holidays etc should take reception seriously i.e Airo A25 & Sonim XP1.I both live & work in a poor reception area (regardless of network)& backpack a lot.Difficult to do a comparison test due to the number of variables

  • Lets get the phone in the market before we can worry about the antenna. You sound like you have it or know the exact date it is coming out.

  • Can an antenna be added on as in the Sonim XP1? And where to buy them (with advice)

  • very good phone. classic, dedicated call keys, nice keypad, mp3, radio, 3g and stuff. i will change my sonyericsson wxxx with this samsung b2700 as soon as i can buy it from european market.

  • Very good phone. How much we have to wait to buy it?

  • YES.. samsung made another very good phone, how i wish they can include cam. flash, and video quality..

  • here in the philippines, we love this kind of phone..durable is everything. but please make another one of this kind with good video recorder, camera flash, and a dual sim, it needed in the jungle and other tough places. Yehey.. samsung the best!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why doesn't have office document view(word, excell, pdf) like samsung the other?

  • if only they had incorporated a pocket knife, bottle opener, corkscrew, pliers, magnifying glass, screwdriver, scissors, nail clipper, filer, pliers, cigarette lighter, flare gun, and a Taser, it would have been perfect. Oh, one more thing, also a good powered laser would have come in handy... lol.... Love this phone absolutely...

  • Samsung! Why no Equalizer?????????

  • DAMN! They forgot the THERMOMETER!!!!!

  • General Question about samsung. How does samsung name its phones, too many letters and digits? Can anyone help explain?

  • if display size 240 x 320 pixels, 2.0 inches sure would be perfect for me :-/

  • Looks like one of those army toys ive seen in movies, dive into the water, then rush into the jungle and fire fights in the desert, and still lets you call for back up. I will get one of this.. Thanks samsung. hope you make more with this type of outfit.. Way to go Samsung..

  • after reading gsmarena's review, i think there's something to do to add more durability to this phone : 1. Samsung should protect both lens cameras. a simple lens cover will do. 2. Samsung should move the LED torchlight position next to the main camera lens, so it can also perform as torchlight and camera light.

  • Up until this moment, I was considering getting a Nokia E51 as an addition to my current ROKR E6. But on reading the review of this phone, I am absolutely sold on it. Will get one as soon as I can lay hands on it. Rugged, durable, supposedly good display, voice clarity, loud ringing and speakerphone, EDGE and 3G, torchlight, good battery life, good keypad... absolutely meets my requirements. I can live without Wi-fi. And HSDPA/3.5G is still a long way off when I still don't have simple 3G here in India (although it will be launched by about the end of this year). Just hope the price bracket quoted in the review is approximately correct. It would be a sweet spot indeed for this beauty... I'll be right here waiting for you.... well if not, will get u from Dubai or Singapore

  • well it's pity that it hasnt 3.5 mm audio jack. But still SONIM is the best in durability.

  • yap... you're right my friends... dual sim for this type of phone... please... please...Samsung...prove that you are the BEST among the BESTS>>>

  • Hi, Just want to know if anyone of you have already used the phone? It's regarding the capacity of the inbox for sms, if its as large as the one in the U600 (1000)or the standard 200 messages in the D880. I had both phone & enjoyed using them. I'm looking for a more rugged one that I can use when I'm at work( construction). Thank you in advance.

  • it's been a long time since Siemens came up with their first rugged phone ten years ago, and it proved to be a succesful one. many fans (including me) was crying when the company declare their bancruptcy knowing that there will be no more good rugged phone produce by the company. it's good to know that Samsung finally decide to take the responsibility and make a fully featured rugged phone. now all i can do is wait until this phone available in my country and i can finally put my good ol' Siemens M-series to a rest... :)

  • After a long frustrated time to find the replacement for my aging M75... God has answer my prayer.... God is great!!! Samsung is great!

  • The looks reminds me of Sony Ericsson's K300i. Hope the price also matches so I can get one as the features seem to be good.

  • Dual sim!....dual sim.....dual sim....i want a dual sim version of this phone!!!!

  • i have m110, memory still full, i need this one

  • this is the best durable phone on the market to date. Much better than the M110. I dont think it will be as cheap. But i dont mind its the 1st durable phone to have 3G.

  • OMG!!! The best phone ever! I want this now!!!! Can't wait!!!!

  • wow. i love this phone soo much now i 'll be remembering that phone day n night . i tell u if u have please dont give it to anyone. en u know actually i'm king of tha world

  • I would love to see a dual-sim version of this phone with all its features and ruggedness.

  • i love rugged fones.. and i like it much better if the features were great.. what could be the price in philippines peso..anyone??

  • Whoaaaa! Great job Samsung! You made a tough mobile phone at this time. Much better than Nokia 5140/5140i.

  • i like design

  • it's like an xp1 with some features :) we'll wait and see if it's just as strong and reliable, but it's good to see manufacturers are recognising how important lastability is to consumers.

  • Is a bicycle-computer support in this phone?

  • And this is the anti-explosion cell phone...

  • nice design

  • i love rugged phones because there excellent to use (unlike my other hi end phones i must be extra careful using theme) and I have my nokia 5500 sport for 2 years now and I think this would be a perfect update if I use 3G unfortunately I don't so I'm gonna stay with my nokia

  • ugly

  • the compass is nice

  • This phone needs to be significantly cheaper than the SONIM and if it is it'll grab a great marketshare!

  • I'm 3rd. Hehe. Nice phone. I always hope that toughie phone with relatively nice features will come out eventually. Nice one Samsung. I'll wait til it's available in my area. gotta have one of these..

  • have been sertificated to IP 54?

  • Nice phone
