  • Last year, i just got A8 2015. Its good phone although 2gb ram. 2 issues I got is battery and network. Battery just die off about 60-30% something like that. I have no reason. Network also diffcult to find 4G. It always 3G/H+. Few weeks ago, I smash my phone 2 times on the table and the floor. Lcd just cracks but outside it remarkble. No cracks on outside screen but inside lot of damages. Now, my phone is still need to replace lcd & battery but problem is i have no money. Luckily, my phone is still on and sound chaging is on even LCD is still painful. Overroll, need to upgrade version nougat.

  • With those thick side bezels, looks outdated and there is no OIS, c'mon no OIS on phone that will probably cost around 500 euros in Europe. You can comfortably fit finger print scanner on the bottom bezel, is so huge. Looks like S8 if S8 ate a couple of cheeseburgers :) Skip it, you can buy the S7 edge for the same money if not cheaper, it's better option. Wait until they polish the design in the coming years.

I try reset (factory reset) but still the same. It has 13GB available storage space. Then one more thing one day the google turn to bahasa from english, i didn't touch/change the setting. Yes I have played almost all the high end games available in the playstore i.e, GTA SanAndreas, Vice City, Asphalt 8, Morden Combat 5, The Walking Dead all seasons, they all run awesome. yes, but it has got an issue with Nova 3. Before upgrading it to Marshmallow Nova 3 ran fine but after upgrading to Marshmallow the game does not even open. Actually, its not the fault in the mobile hardware but its the problem in the game itself. Yes the cameras are good looking at the price. Yes, if you are willing to buy this phone now. Then I would say no. Its an old model. You may choose Samsung Galaxy A9 pro, which costs around 26k or you may get C9 pro at 36k. I got the C9 Pro yesterday.It is awesome.

  • well its about a year that i am using it and no complains till now luckly but here are few things u should take care of.. 1) i thought it come with gorilla glass but it does not so just take care of that and buy 1 2) do not install many apps it will slow your phone down. 3) it lacks back cover there are not much option for it. 4)back camera is just amazing and at first it took me a lot of time to find its features but now that i have discovered it i would like to share it. there is a mode option just left to the click camera button from there u can choose modes like prioma 5)front cam is ok ok

  • One thing I never heard that Samsung phone part replacements are very costly. I bought A8 for $437 one year ago and yesterday my display went off but touch is working. I went to 10 shops and all of them said replacement display will cost about $163. All of them said so. I checked on amazon, ebay and aliexpress the price is almost same. IDK what I'm going to do with this shit but I'm never going to buy Samsung phones. I broke my Xiaomi Mi5's display and I repaired it with only $38 lol.   • Screen was comming out from the metal body probably becouse of battery. I had a similar problem. Battery pushes the screen out, your battery is bloated ( expand, bulge, distend, inflate, dilate, bloat, puff up, balloon, fatten, fill out, tumefy ), it is thicker than it should be.

  • Not as good as it seemed when I first bought the phone. It will shut down even if the phone is at 30%. It has charging problems, even changed cables. The camera on the front is horrible. And sometimes the screen will black out and I can't do anything with the phone. I've had it for a year and started experiencing problems only after 4 months.

However for Samsung Galaxy A8, the battery life time is LESS THAN 1 DAY even though I have full-charged the mobile phone and straightaway changed to Ultra Power Saving Mode.   • Guys, please really avoid phones with 1.0μm camera like this one. Low light performance is horrible, so dark, color is dull. Even photos in daylight, color is bad. 13MP with standard μm pixel size is much much better, even 8mp. I really regret buying this. Please samsung, don't do this ever again. I prefer camera bump but good cam rather than slimming the phone but reducing cam quality. CAMERA IS REALLY HORRIBLE. Don't trust gsmarena cam review for this phone. You will know the quality by using it everyday, in any light, like me.

  • My Galaxy A8 screen is separating from my phone for the THIRD time. This same issue was already repaired twice in Chiang Mai, Thailand at the Samsung Repair Center. In addition the Auto Focus on the camera is hard to focus. It will roll through all the focus points and then remain unfocused when it decides to focus. I don't think I will be purchasing anymore Samsung products.

  • The security patch now only allows the phone to be switched off with power off button for finger print sensor to work. In case you use power off button app it will ask you to punch in password and will not allow finger print sensing.

  • For those having problem upgrading, I think it might be as result of poor network connection. I suffered the same fate, but was able to upgrade to the latest android version 6.0.1 marshmallow after the second attempt. Try it when you a stable network, I believe it'll work. Enjoy!

  • The build quality of the handset is quite good and it looks impressive while holding in hand. The display is brilliant and battery backup is excellent. Fingerprint scanner works with amazing ease and is quite responsive. However, on the down side, TouchWiz user interface is a bit lax. It even ends up irritating the user at times. But all in all, this phone is good value for money. If one can secure any discounts through any offer, must go for it! :)

  • Hi, I am from the Philippines and I got my Samsung A8 from one of the 2 mobile carriers here (yes, there's only 2 here and they are duopolizing stuff, anyway...). I got the phone April 26, 2016. Playing videos on it was good. Camera shots were OK. The sounds needs improvement since most of it can be heard if you are looking behind the phone which is not ideal if you're fond of watching movies/series on your mobile. My biggest disappointment though is, I dropped the phone ONCE this July, and the LCD immediately stopped working! The tempered glass on it broke, but the glass itself is still intact. I can still receive calls, sms, I can still even here my calendar notifications, but I can's do anything because the screen is black. As per samsung's assessment, the LCD is broken and it is not covered by warranty! I thought they're using good glass for the LCD but it easily broke! My Note 2 was way even better. I dropped it multiple times and it is still working. Imagine, I paid 9,600 pesos (roughly $213.00 USD) to get it as a phone from my plan, and now, I have to pay 7,700 pesos (roughly $171.00 USD) for the repair. This is really frustrating, after my plan expires, I will never ever get a samsung phone again.

  • It is because of overheating the software automatically detects the load of apps on the processor and restarts the phone so that it can reduce the temperatures if thats not the case it may be a problem with the hardware like ram get it checked with the service center and insist them on checking the hardware generally the service center people just reset the phone and give it to you so insist on them if the restart problem get's solved by just resetting it than maybe it is a particular app problem so get it checked once have any other doubts ask me

  • I don't understand why people are saying that A8 is not a good choice. I was searching for a good phone from January 2016. I had a look at almost all the trending phones including Redmi Note 3, HTC Desire series, Sony Z and C series along with other MI phones recently launched. I wanted a phone with an amazing rear and front camera even in low lights or artificial lights along with a decent battery backup as I was using a XOLO Q 3000 from last 2 years. It had a 4000Mah battery. I purchased Samsung A8 without a thought because of the following features:- Big Screen, Gorilla Glass Protection, Amazing display quality, 16 MP Rear and 5MP front camera, 3050Mah battery and last but not the least A branded phone with a better service quality provided you don't break ur screen display or drop it in water. Phone lasts for a day with moderate to heavy usage. Guys you just need to make sure that there are less number of background applications, brightness is neither too less nor too high and a afew other things. Iam satisfied with my Samsung Galaxy A8 after spending 23900 Rs. Purchased it from Nagpur, Maharashtra on 9th May 2016. Just love it. You guys don't have any idea what a 16MP samsung camera can do. Also I have started playing heavy games.

  • That is why all phones come with ear piece! Use it or waste it.

  • You need to click on the left button "Recent" tray. Remove all those apps still inside this tray, click on the X on each app or click on the 3 straight lines with X -> this is to clear all apps. Each app do consume some battery and ram, hence if any app open will run better with more ram available. Looks like you are not or never use to clear all apps in the Recent tray.

  • You need to adjust the screen tone. Then on the camera, do adjust in the setting. Finally, did you remove the sticker on the camera!

  • Don't use tempered glass or anything on top of the screen. Then you will not see it blur.

I went to Defence Colony Samsung authorised Service Centre as the voice of my mobile phone a8 was very low. The customer care executive told me that on new phones voice is low. This is not the fact as on purchase the voice of the phone was very good. I recommend that no one purchase this phone Samsung Galaxy A8 even at the price of Rs. 5000/-.

This is what i know, Gorilla Glass will not break, as for the phone screen, no guarantee. Only issue I think I am facing is that the battery isn't lasting that much. I mean if I use internet or watch videos moderately, battery lasts 17-18 hrs in a full charge.   • I have been using the A8 for more than a month. The good things about this phone are: battery is excellent, screen display is decent, good looks and sleek (not too heavy for its size), external memory option and fingerprint scanner works very well. The BIGGEST PROBLEM is the LAG. I use the phone extensively for office email, browsing, regular apps like fb, ola, etc. and the phone's performance slows down significantly. I was an iphone 5 series user earlier, and I find that it takes a lot of time for apps to open in the A8. I think the 2 GB RAM is just not enough, i wish they had made it atleast 3GB RAM (the one-plus two priced lower has 4 GB RAM). Also the camera is just ok, nothing fancy great. If you are a heavy user using email, fb, etc. then you may look for better options in the same price range.

  • Using A8 last 2 month good phone ,light weight ,nice interface but front camera quality is poor than A7 and charging and headfree jack are in bottom which makes him little irritating while using when you charging at the same time and main drawback is when the battery is reach to 5 percent is just after 2 min switch off the phone without any warning evenyou not using it .

  • Sadly it doesn't have led notification but you can go to settings>motion & gestures then select "Smart alert" your phone will vibrate when you pick it up to notify you about missed calls & messages.

  • Dual sim is optional either you can put 2 sim cards or one sim/memory card, for me 32 GB is sufficient so I use two sim cards so far so good, works like a charm.

  • I lost my Huawei G750 last 3 weeks, and just bought the Samsung A8. The A8 in general is a little better than G750 such loud speaker and camera, but almost similar on the daily use. One of my concern is the A8 camera without flash, some photo good, but some not. And when take photo with moving object such animal walking the picture detail not every clear. If use sport mode, it's good, but not every satisfy. Battery G750 may last longer about 1-2 hours. Speed G750 faster because same ram and almost same CPU, but G750 screen smaller.

  • It's a very good phone infact worth every single penny, using it since a week now & haven't faced a single issue till date. Superb build quality it's the slimmest phone by Samsung, battery life is really good watched live sport today for about 50 mins & the battery went down by 5% which is really great, camera is perfect although it doesn't have ois but that's not an issue the pics turn out crisp & clear outdoors, acceptable indoors, speakers ain't that good but still do the job, call quality is excellent & fingerprint sensor works like a charm.

  • Well for me its all in one like in A series only A8 has 16 mp cam like S6 and note 5 shape wise A8 is best Androind version wise a8 best and its also Octacore 32gb builtin memory plus in slot 2 you can use card or sim its slim and very handy it is 5'7 inches but never feels huge for me i never had any disadvantage but only one thing is missing that is Lockscreen more effects and walpaper animation rest of complete device is awesome with awesome battery :)

After restart phone works fine...i dont know what happened to its sensor as i was not using the phone at that moment. may be some software issue ?!!
