it's interesting that this phone got android 9 specially not from 8.1 , from 7 ! so it's amazing , the OneUI looks good , very good icons and clean , good camera this phone has in quality and noiseless compare to my K10 which is dumb at focus , specially near distance and over exposure , J7 NXT also has super amoled display which is better than ips , but ips is not that bad , unfortunately J7 NXT has only 16GB but you can have microSD up to 256GB with dual sim too , my k10 has only support up to 32GB , maybe for now J6 and J6+ and A20 is a good phone for low prices and having OTG option which i don't see this ability in those 2 phones

I have this phone over a year, it's served me well and my only real complaint is that it's a bit too wide in size, 3.07 inches. The next phone I purchase will have to be 2.85 inches or less in width.

I've tried the obvious. Including using apps like Open Camera. I really want Gcam port for this phone because its camera result is just heart wrenching. I had better options yet I bought this phone just because I thought Samsung was trustworthy in terms of quality and is famous for providing good optimisation for cameras. :(

Sure, wanna pay for it then? What kind of smartass answer is this? Its camera is horrible - not just bad. Do you even own this device? The colours are so inaccurate that you can't even tell whether the real colour of something is red, pink or orange unless the picture is taken under sunlight. The auto focus & stabilisation are also really really bad. You always have to take 3-5 pictures, including selfies because they are so out of focus and blur. If you think this is normal even in 50% less price than this phone, then I pity you for wasting your hard earned money on God knows how many this kind of phones. And go be a jerk somewhere you don't look stupid.

If you have a problem with your battery after Oreo 8.1 update do a full reset. Turn off your phone, press volume up power button and home button at the same time. Choose factory reset and wipe cache partition. Hope you have a wonderfull day!

People! I have this very same smartphone and I can tell you, there is no issue with the battery. It is clearly stated, that you have to reset your phone after the oreo upgrade! If you do'nt, your battery and other functions will play crazy. All you have to do, is resetting the phone. C'mon guys, it's a new operating system. The old data do'nt work with Oreo!

Its avery good phone for the money without any glaring weaknesses, Good browsing speed and display, no heating issues, great battery life, decent cameras and has been 100% reliable over one year's intense use. Easily the best value Samsung phone. Dont waste money on J2Pro and for a small premium you get so much more,

If you liked this phone check out the J7 Duo, basically the same as this device with removable battery but fully upgraded, processor, cameras, memory (ram 4gb), fingerprint sensor and more, worthy upgrade and retains the look and feel of this one. Price will come down overtime.

It does not, neither has most other sensors, like compass, gyro, etc. old model, below average camera, there's newer better phones, time to move on. Samsung needs to step up it's game in their budget lines at least or they are going to be let behind soon.

IMO if your phone does all you want as is it's always better to delay or simply avoid the update, overtime bugs are fixed and the update becomes safer and you may download it if it's actually needed. That goes for any phone.

I used the amperre application and gave me the highest ratio. I used the original charger and the problem only because the ratio is 89% and vice versa for 86% and when we get 90% directly becomes 100% ... Note that the problem happens only when I charge the phone and it is I have a low percentage ... why I charge and it is over 50% shipping for 100% and I use the original charger

You have not given very much information so I will give you an overview of my approach to charging. (1) Try installing Ampere from the Google Play Store. All cables are NOT created equal. Use the cable with the highest current delivery. (3) Try different chargers. All chargers are NOT created equal. Again, use the charger that delivers the highest current to your phone. (4) If you are nuts about tech stuff or find yourself doing for a lot of phones that you can't install stuff on, there are USB multimeters available on Amazon. I picked the UM24C with a bluetooth option so I can see the measurements without bending down to see the LCD readings on the meter itself.

You can disable updates altogether in the "about" section, I avoid those "get a new phone" system updates as possible on any phone, use recovery mode or hard reset if that doesn't work you would need to reflash your rom, or send to service, bad deal sorry.

If you are so very interested in running that very single app just backup and reset your device and retry before installing any other apps or change any other settings AND if it still doesn't work maybe google is to blame, who knows, this happens sometimes and then the app is updated and it works. big deal, surely a phone model is not defective because just one little app misbehaves on it.

That problem is well documented on the old J7 2015 not J7 nxt, if there is a batch of defective j7 nxt units that share a flaw with the old design that may be the case, software issues would show at least in a vast majority of the devices and that's not the case either, seriously you need to send that phone to service, if there's no damage to the connector they will have to honor warranty. Tested my two units which come from very different places, the flaw is not happening on either one, both running old android 7.

There is an issue with charging due to user error, damage to the usb connector from pulling or bending the usb power/data cable while connected, connector needs to be re-soldered, there are a few videos on how to repair this yourself or just send to service, you will likely be charged though. most if not all phones can get this type of damage unless using wireless charging if supported.

Call your service center, got two of them and I know someone who has one of these phones as well, none of them has this issue, all are running android 7 still, have that unit replaced at once.

PIP (picture in picture) mode is added on oreo and not present in nougat, it is a useless feature among many others, if your phone does what you want avoid any useless updates that may break something you really care about.

That can happen when you are using a bad or poorly connected charger or charging from a cheap PC or other device. This can happen on many phones not just this one. BTW don't have that issue myself.

Your phone got possessed by an evil spirit or maybe you loaded one of those APKs from illegal software sites, maybe a faulty update, backup and factory reset, if it still does the same just call your service center, the phone has no model level issues of heating, speaker issues, accelerometer issues, none at all.

What J2 neo? J7 nxt has better pixel density than the J1 ace, a display is not worse just because you don't like the icons, android 4.4 had different icons than android 7, if you don't like the new icons they come the same in all 2017-2018 samsung devices not just this one.

The LCD of this J7 is not a good quality as we know it on J1 ace neo (J111F) or J2 neo or on Note 4 . This J7 has a pathetic interface icons looks pathetic. I had to download some themes and download new icons to make it look like a high end samsung !!

Not even s8 users are happy with the sound quality of their phones, read around, on the battery percentage its weird, I have two of those s7 nxt, no issue at all, send to service if you do care, I would just let it charge 100% unplug and go about my business.

Bad battery life is not the same as slow charging, in fact changing the battery likely will nit resolve that issue, it could be poor connection of the charger to the wall or to the phone, could be the charger or the phone itself, if you continue experiencing this or if it get worse you need to make your point at the service center.

GPS can know the direction you are moving and so a compass sensor is not all that necessary for ordinary use, if you really need compass for some reason just get another phone that has it but again most people won't.

I do not know where you see good equipment if Samsung manufactures too many Galaxy J7 from 16 GB to 32 GB, this cell phone is without a doubt basic and horrible. Apart not even have a fingerprint sensor.

Please check your phone before spreading fake news about the phone battery life being bad as it is plain excellent, First off it has a battery saving mode you can use while you find your problem, just google "how to save battery on android phone" or something like that and follow a few tutorials, you will either get excellent battery life or your unit is defective and need to be replaced.

this mobile is absolutely amazing! I bought the 3gb ram/ 23gb memory version a month ago and it is just perfect I downloaded a lot of games and I play them with no lag at all on medium or high quality (PUBG and asphalt...etc) the internal memory is more than sufficient (I'm not even using a memory card :) ) the speaker is kinda low, but it's not a major issue for me. the battery is durable, doesn't take much time to charge and it's removable the screen colors are just beautiful. and I enjoy watching movies on it a lot! if you are looking for a good quality mobile with a limited budget, this is the one for you

For those who think J7 nxt processor is sub par, its the same processor as the much more expensive J7 pro, galaxy a6 2018 and galaxy j6 2018, just pick the 3gb/32gb version if you are into games. besides none of those have a removable battery, with removable battery you can have full charge again in 30 seconds.

It has the exynos 7870 low power processor, 720p display and a 3000 maH battery, it will have better battery life than many flagships like s8 and s6 mentioned below, also, better than any non plus iphones, in my experience it lasts more than a day every time. It even has a low power mode if you can't charge for some reason, better yet it has a removable battery you can swap for an instant recharge, almost no phones have that these days.

Have two of those phones and none does that so that's not it, try to drain and recharge your battery a couple of times and use a different charger or your pc for recharge, only the note 7 got that workaround of not fully charging battery that I know of. Service should get you a phone that works normal not excuses.

So let me see: No Gorilla Glass - if you mistreat your phone gorilla glass will not prevent it from getting damaged at all. Just place your phone in a different pocket than your keys. No Compass - if you are using the phone in a moving vehicle GPS will determine your direction. No Fingerprint - that is a godsend for your privacy believe me, they can know who you are and where you're at any given time. No Quick charging - quick charging shortens the lifespan of your battery. on the top of that they now make the batteries non removable, planned obsolescence at it's worst. Weak Internal Memory - what's the point of having 10 apps open at the same time? It should have 32GB of flash but you can just use a fast SD card or buy the newer version. Weak Battery - no way dude - check your phone, J7 nxt has great battery backup. It is too old - I prefer the removable battery dude, who needs water resistance? maybe drunk people or pool happy people. And when it comes to looks if you care for your phone you put it in a case, looks are not that important. If you still want looks you are going to have to pay more anyways.

15 hours. Mhm. Mine is 25 hrs. and 16 minutes. To be clear, I always play intensive games (NFSNL and Asphalt 8), 50% brightness, calling and texting, and watch Youtube videos. LCD screens don't burn too much juice because it doesn't eat too much on strong colors. Beat that!

My Y7 Prime (2017) does seem better than this phone for 5 reasons: 1. Better battery (4000 mah vs 3000 mah) 2. Better front camera (8MP vs 5MP) 3. Comparable chipsets (Snapdragon 435 vs Exynos 7870) 4. Display (Sure its not AMOLED, but its more accurate than ever) 5. And finally, the price of the two are the same! One of the best budget mobiles i have owned for work. The battery backup is insane, i can get 14hours screen on time with really heavy usage. Calls, 4G data, Gaming, videos, music, youtube, bluetooth... etc and all that on a 3000mah battery. Samsung really optimized the software plus the low power exynos 7870 and the amoled. 2Gb ram is perfectly okay, i have never faced any issues and the games i have played are all high end ( i had them on low to medium settings) I highly recommend this phone if you are on a low budget ! Good job samsung again.

It's one of the best phones I ever had. Good chipset, good screen, good reception, works stable and reliable. Sound is ok, except media sound (often low). Lacks Magnetometer, like Samsung wants to penalize you for not paying more to get a better model. The J7 models with non-replacable batteries, have magnetometers inside. I will memorize this decision from Samsung! And nowadays always the lack of native VoIP-Client. Cheaper brands like Acer Z6 plus have both: Magnetometer and native VoIP. Why is that? Otherwise the phone is good!

I bought it few months back and had posted a really good feedback about its battery, no heating and all, which is still true. After 1.5 or 2 months of usage, I started to face an issue with making calls. If I click on a contact to call, the call won't place. If I click several times, it will still not place the call, and then suddenly call will be placed but it won't connect for a long time. If I try to disconnect the call it won't disconnect either. This issue was resolved after an OTG update, but I started to experience it again after couple of weeks. My storage is 3.3 GB free and RAM usage is also nominal. I'm from Philippines and I got this phone about a week ago and it's quite a decent phone. What I loved: 1. Great display. Despite only being HD, the sAMOLED display is quite good. 2. The 13MP rear shooter is quite great for a device priced only below 10k. I could get decent to very great photos in well-lit scenes and sometimes in low-lit scenes too. 3. Octa Core does great despite being only clocked at 1.6ghz. 4 The battery can last for 12 hours with moderate usage thanks to the efficient chipset. 5. Gaming is decent, could be better though. What I did not like: 1. THAT EFFING FRONT CAMERA. The 5MP front shooter is a definite disappointment. In rare instances, it can take mediocre photos that doesn't look edited and heavily-filtered. But usually the front camera heavily edits your photo even if the filters and selfie-focus is turned off. It doesn't take natural shots which I hate. These kinds of camera which are much like Oppo and Vivo's camera are what I tend to hate and avoid. The biggest disappointment in this phone. But I can't complaim because for a phone worth only less than 10k. But still, some phones out there does better in that price segment. If only I were a loyal Samsung fan then I might have opted for the other 10k phones. 2. 2gb RAM is the least to say, adequate but surely not enough. 3. 16gb ROM. It couldn't suffice. 32gb would have been appreciated, Samsung. Especially for its price. And that's my opinion for J7 Core/Nxt/Neo which I'm currently using as my main driver for a week now. If you are on a tight budget but want a capable phone that can handle multitasking and medium-to-semi heavy games as well as a good rear camera with quite a powerful and efficient chip as well as a above average battery but doesn't mind a few hiccups like the old design, plastic body and subpar front camera, then this phone will do.

I just got the phone today, but yes, it has both panoramic and sports effects. panorama gets pushed down to around 5 mp, but sports looks like it keeps it at 13 mp and slightly faster at keeping up when you move the camera from side-to-side

guys if you are using videocall on a messenger and if its dark... the best thing to do is ..delete the messenger app. then... ask your friend to share it the OLD version of messenger... updated messenger app is not compatible.. its has darker view.. so ask your friends who have old version of messenger apps...

Sad to say but it's the first charge that counts. I owned more than 30 Android phones and if purchased a brand new one and the battery is draining fast than usual after the drain and uninterrupted 1st charge i always bring it back to samsung service center and they would either replaced the battery or change unit with the store where i purchased it. Did have a couple of phones that didn't live up with the battery back up like j1 mini rime, j1 16, j2 prime, xperia and lenovo all of them was replaced by the store where i purchased it. I really don't like the idea of just replacing the battery option because who knows the service center might just give you a refurbished battery.

I bought this phone 2 days ago. It is phenomenal so far. No heating or performance issues. Battery timing is also very good. In two days, just 55 to 60% of the battery was utilized. P.S. I am not a hardcore user. I am using it just for daily calls, SMS, e-mails etc. For internet, I am using both 4G as well as WiFi. Since I newly bought it, so I downloaded a couple of apps (25 to 30 approx) and restored all my data.

use your phone untill it reach 0% and shutdown autometicaly.....then charge it till 100% in switched off mode. note: don't use or unplug while charging untill it completelly full charged. it will full charge in 2hours 45 minutes but don't unplug it. leave it for total 6 hours...means 2h45min+3h15min then unplug and use.

Yeah! No doubt this is a good phone under the 10k budget. Been playing injustice 2 with this phone sometimes it lags but still 90% of the time it's smooth. Battery is good just do the draining before you do the 1st charge and dont unplug it or turn on when its doing its 1st charge for 8 straight hrs. Never let the sales person do a trial charge while purchasing the unit. Camera it's 8/ 10 for the rear ang 7/10 for the front. At least this one is better than j2 prime oil painting quality pics. I don't know why some of you complaint about you tube not playing hd but this phone do play hd videos with ease. One thing that i hope samsung imorove is the loudspeaker of their phones! Over the years they really minimize the sound. Over all if you are a person who works and doesn't punish your phone because your not doing anything in your life this is 8/10 phone.

Ok i just bought this phone i will share my experience here 1.Graphics are normal 7/10, due to low resolution and low DPI. 2. Speed is good not lagging/hanging or any glitch. 3. Doesn't heat up. 4. Battery timing is good. 5. Volume is not loud in speaker sound quality is normal. 6. Lacks sensors. Conclusion: Overal phone is good but is bit expensive according to its specifications.

It depends on usage pattern.... it depends on which apps you are using,how many apps you are using. how many hours you get on your phone after full charging? I didn't face like this.... I am getting 18-19 hours with full charge... my usage is modarate.... net surf, edit images,facebook, check & send mails, few office work,what's app, news reading, apps and songs downloading,calling,using calculator, modarate gaming, click photos,youtube, most of times I stay onlines and I frequently using internet.. that means my display is on maximum time.... I am using jio. my settings is.. display brighness 35% which is enough in indore on super amoled display to me, I increase brightnes at outdoor as needed. I always turnd off bluetooth, auto rotetion, wifi, gps etc. when needed I turnd them on. I never installed any application which is not important or I don't use.desabled unnecessary apps and send few apps on sleep mode which I don't use frequently.

This unit has been released in the USA as the J7 NEO model SM-j701M. It appeared on Amazon and a few other sites this week. I have ordered one and it looks good spec wise, the same as the J7 Pro except it has 2gb of ram vs 3gb on the pro as well as no NFC, compass or fingerprint reader. Cant wait to get it!! I didn't face as you mentioned..... front camera is not decent but its ok for me....remember front camera is 5mp and back camera is 13mp so don't compare front camera with back. if want to decent selfie you can go for j7 pro or j7 max.

yes.... even you can play heavy games like ashfult 8,modern combat5, gta san andreas,dead trigger etc at high graphics settings without any lag or without any heating isues. I have tested those games in high graphics settings. so its a budget killer device by samsung. awesome phone in performance.

My experience is honestly good about sound quality.... its quite loud in this price segment... after all its from samsung,its not a cheap one like Chinese products. only builtin ringtones are not very loud...its not a problem atall.. download few good ringtones from net and use... and don't forget to increase volume in volume settings menu. those who are giving false statement..they are haters of samsung and they didn't used j7nxt. honestly its a good product in this price segment.I am using j7nxt for a week and no complaint about it,I am very happy with it. cheers....
