Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Wi-Fi - User Reviews

  • A patent now suggests an integrated speaker inside of the S-Pen of the Note 8 2017. Funny, but I already had that idea four years ago, because I thought about the Wii Remote control. That is, what pisses me off about patents: I have some ideas since my childhood (IFTTT could have been my product, because in my dreams, I had a similar idea ten years ago. My idea was inspired by a random episode in a junior TV show. But will the inductive charging power of WACOM's digitizer be sufficient for a speakerpen?

  • Does this include SIM

  • my mobile have a problem when i on my mobile there was written on the screen OOIN MOBE

  • Great device for gaming!!

  • 1. Go into Settings 2. Scroll all the way to the bottom in the left-hand column to "System" 3. Tap "About device" 4. Tap "Software update" 5. Tap "Update now" 6. Tap "OK' on "Check for new software updates and download them." Follow prompts as required.

  • How did u upgrade to 4.4

  • The display is one of the best LCD screens there is even by today's standards in terms of colours, contrast, brightness and viewing angles. Only the resolution is a bit low compared with today's top models but it's enough for comfortable use on 8" display. Still way better than cheaper entry level models.

  • The TFT display of this tablet is good? or bad compared to new IPS displays?

  • After Kitkat had been released for a couple months for this device, custom ROMS started coming out of the woodwork. My personal favorite is SlimKat for this device. It has made this tablet a useful part of my arsenal again, along with disabling the physical buttons and enabling softkeys. Had to run the SD card fix after Kitkat killed it. I formatted it mostly FAT, partially ext4, and the rest linux swap. This allows me to link most apps to the SD card and free up internal. I tried using the page-file memory but found it to be too laggy for my liking. I use this tab mostly to control my home theater.

  • Hi.i have a problem.i bought a 64gb micro sd memory for this tablet.but sometimes the device does not recognize the memory card and i should unmount and mount again for using the memory card again.

  • flash it via odin

  • if u want to make call and send sms so buy 3g version and if u just want to use wifi and watch movies and play music so buy wifi only version 3g verson has wifi and sim features

  • Today I got my Note 8 WiFi Updated to 4.4.2 It's okay nothing much I do with this tab... It is resting on my desk or last 8-9 months... Hahaha.

  • hi everyone. recently got note 8.0 gtn5110 which is supposed to have a 16gb internal memory. why does the device only report 9.87 gb capacity? is this normal? would the jelly bean 4.2.2 eat up almost half of the 16gb memory? do your units report the same or similar total memory? your comments would be very much appreciated. thanks in advance.

  • witch one should i go for this one or the 3G & WiFi ??? witch one is better overall???

  • Because it has much lot of features and Samsung UI it consumes lot of resources therefore it might be a little slower in menus, if you run a heavy app or game you will see that note will play it without any trouble(try a 3d game)

  • why ipad mini dual core 512 ram is much faster and smooth than quadcore 2 gb ram note 8.0 tnx

  • Did any one in South Korea get the jelly bean 4.2 update? The whole world got it. So I was thinking is it my device only or the whole Korea didnt get the jelly bean 4.2 update? It has been a long time since the world got 4.2..! Thanks in advance...

  • I have updated my device to 4.2.2 but the touch sometimes will not work until i remove the styl pen to perform some tasks but using hand it wont work at all.

  • can i update, use a micro sim for this device in the micro sd slot. thank you.

  • Get sahold of Samsung or factory reset your device.

  • Because sim cards are not necessary for tablets.

  • I have updated my device to 4.2.2 but the mluti window is not working ...what should I do

  • I have updated my device to 4.2.2 but the mluti window is not working ...what should I do

  • I have updated my device to 4.2.2 but the mluti window is not working ...what should I do

  • I'm happily using my note 8 with a 1tb seagate backup plus. You should format the drive as fat32 or exFat.

  • Deer Hunter 2014 work very well on SGN 8.

  • nice

  • good phone

  • Theres a newer version N5120 which i used to post this comment it has simcard, 3g/LTE and huge ram

  • why it doesn't have simcard

  • Will there be a 2014 edition of the note 8.0 ???

  • Hi all Note 8 fans! Would you please tell me whether anyone tried playing Deer Hunter 2014 on SGN 8? Does it work?

  • I hope it gets to have 4.3 jellybean too.

  • version android now 4.2.2 to upgarade not only 4.1.2

  • This is great! I love it, no problems for me so far :)

  • this is so great!

  • nice tablet so far..i go with it..

  • I've got the same problem with a 1TB hard disk. Talking about MHL, you must connect a 5 pin to 11 pin adaptador to your MHL cable.

  • Try xda developer site to update your note.

  • try app ES File Explorer. should be able to read the external hard drive. The default file manager sometimes doesn't read.

  • Got a Note 8 WiFi (GT-N5110) here in the UK and read that the 4.2.2 update was available a few days ago. No luck using Kies or OTA, so wrote to Samsung. They wrote back to say it was available, so have just tried again, and no update, am stuck with 4.1.2. Anyone got any idea what's going on? I have NO interest in using any complicated non OTA or Kies method to get 4.2.2, I like things simple, many thanks!

  • Just got my Note N5110 Tablet. It's a replacement for my old EeePC 1015PN. Tried to connect both a 250GB 2.5" USB HDD and later a SDHC reader with an OTG-cable. The note8 couldn't read Neither? I tough it should work? Tried to connect the Note8 to our 42" TV, using a HML-adapter (that works with my N7000 Note phone and the same TV) but couldn't get the Note8 screen to the TV. Isn't the Samsung N7000 HML-adapter compatible with the Note8? Somebody out there having the same problems?

  • You realise that the Note 8 N5110 is not a phone, right?

  • Yes and a better camera! haha Otherwise it pretty much has replaced my Laptop.

  • Pity, it hasn't high DPI display. With 1920x1200 screen it can be uberdevice!

  • Can somebody tell me if this unit can play HD type of games in android? I'm planning to buy one. thanks

  • Hi guys, I am a marketing guy & I have to talk with my clients almost more than 1 hour per day sometimes people talk more than 30 minutes I may have to take down the clients e-mail, mobile number, occupation, family details, qualifications, etc so what is the best phone I should go for? I also like to browse the Australian states occupations, & do mobile TV and watch vedeos, download.texting e-mailing.... thank you for whoever replies me and advices on this.. Errol

  • this is much better than the 10.1 note. Screen looks better, pen works better and it fits you hand like a glove:-)

  • samsung glaxy note 10.1 is better . just go with it

  • I think u ar right...

  • I think u ar right...

  • guys is skype video call working smoothly? any suggestion for casing? thanks

  • Don't read my comment wrong. This was I could do with the Note II utilizing the Adobe Photoshop Touch with the S Pen: Using a finger or capacitive pen can't cut the pressure control for the air brush tool. I'll do more realistic drawings with the Note 8 as soon as I find some more time. And this is what I could do with Sketchbook Ink on the Note 8. The thin-thick brush strokes replication can only be achieved with a pressure sensitive ended pen. I think it's easy for anyone who recognize what an active Wacom digitizer can offer as an artistic illustration tool.

  • what is better for graphics work and sketch drawings note 10.1 or 8.0 - and what is the use of 4G - can i connect external HDD in 10.1 ? - is there multitasking option in 8.0 as the 10.1 ... suggest what to buy ?!

  • It is looking so beautiful. It's touch pad is so soft.....

  • thanks man, you saved my time.

  • It's called the processor.

  • Does anybody have problems of heating on the left backside of the tablet? Is it normal?

  • nice mobile.

  • No,Thanks, I got Acer iconia B1 already. cost US 100 only.

  • this mobile is very costly please reduse the cost for me ..........

  • same with me, i have ainol novo 9 spark. and i don't think I'll change my tablet with this one. best tablet so far.

  • nice phone

  • Wifi not too good it is to slow samsung need to do something about it

  • Here are the bad things people are talking about the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0: Plasticky No premium feel Low resolutioned camera (but sharp with low light) Not a full HD screen Not an AMOLED screen Silly as a phone? Camera is bumping out No radio No front positioned speakers No LED flash light Price is $70 more than the "premium" iPad Mini No Corning Gorilla glass Poor battery only lasting 7-8 hours of heavy use Not waterproofed Not shock proofed No wireless charging No NFC Touchwiz is boring Micro USB port fragile It's only coming out as the white version at the moment The S Pen feels flimsy to use Well, the list can go on much longer. And what a field day these other people who can't see the Note 8's hardware & software potentials would have. It's not all about the status of having the device. It's about the possibility and the potential it offers with a Wacom digitizer integrated. This is the modern blank paper with endless pages, endless ink to compliment whatever you have in mind. And yeah, it does what any ordinary tablet can do, and a whole lot more innovation. I think the Note series are much more brilliant than other tablets out there.

  • Oh yes it will for anyone who does drawing or sketching. The S Pen is an active pen digitizer. It detects many levels of pressure. I see the Note 8 more as a productive tool than a consumer oriented iPad. The S Pen is really intentional, and that's what makes it more than other tablets.

  • Because it has a Wacom digitizer system and you can make calls (3G version) and expand the memory. Stick to your iPad when you don't need the versatile S Pen and processing power. I'll use it for digital painting and drawing.

  • Of course it's priced high at the moment. The Note 10.1 was about P30k when it came out. The Note 8 (3G version) is P24k. It can go down to P20k or less in a few weeks.

  • mali 400 dead gpu

  • 720x1280.. :/ I will stay with my note2

  • Because Android dominates IOS. Ios doesn't have half the android capabilities which is why you dont use much battery... no features...no usage!

  • im very much agree with you

  • I think this is just a big Galaxy Note. Okay specs though. I don't think adding a stylus will make it better than other tablets.

  • specification is gigantic but android is sucks, very laggy and fast drain battery unlike ios, poor samsung why not to make own os.

  • you can have a brand new note 10.1 with 23k pesos, better than this. You can not expect a cheap gadget in ph specially when you are going to buy it on malls. They are very expensive.

  • When it will be available in the Malaysia?

  • android only can make phone, tablet better buy ipad mini or ipad4.. better experience and enjoyment. happy with my galaxy note and ipad mini

  • It will be available in the Philippines on April 13 at P23,990.00 or around $585. It's very costly. How can this compete with iPad mini if it's very costly? The cost of iPad mini starts at P14,800.00 or $360 only.

  • SmartPhones

  • Its an 8 inch device

  • yes

  • ok lets put things right the mini ipad is a perfect replica of samsung galaxy tab 7.0 7.0plus 7.7 and 7.0two

  • i just had a customer enqiering about the notepad feature, is their any way if say she rights a story free hand that she can then change the free hand into typed.

  • Why no flash, 1st time samsung

  • best i pad mini ever. :D mostly same price as grand...

  • I do not like it and i hope samsung can make something different the all the sam the pnly thing they change is the camera . but i really don't like it

  • i Like this phone ever!!! how much is this??? Cen you tell me how???

  • Have you seen or use the device to assume that it has a crappy resolution?

  • Samsung has planned to give a good competition to ipad mini with spec as well as pricing. Hope samsung doesn't price this product too high (tats the reason they have used a slcd instead of SAMOLED+ )

  • Damn, how crappy is that screen resolution! Worse than my 7.7"... come on Samsung, I hope you can do better than this. Otherwise I will not replace my 7.7" with it for sure.

  • It's not 8, it's 8.0. Means 8 inches.

  • because it has a 8 inch screen

  • This wll b the best ipad mini competitor so far ;)

  • same as note 2

  • Galaxy note 8? Why not note 3?
