I liked mine 100% , until it had the note2 chip problem. It would shut down, and reboot when it wanted t, or when I used the flash light. Since then I bought the s5 active which the back cover cracks when ever you set it down. Thankfully that phone I dropped in the ocean, hated it. Then I bought the s7 , and it has terrible reception, worse than my Note2, I'm done with it after 2 months, I'm waiting on a s8 now, see how that will work out for me, don't know. Nothing was as good as my Note 2 though.

If it has worked for many years the housing may no longer be very tightly in place. It has to be secured enough to keep the various antennas on the back cover connected to the springy contacts or pins on the motherboard. The antennas are located under the home button and on either side of the ear piece region so make sure all the corner screws are intact to make sure that pond and in contact with antennas on the housing

Emmc chip (Google it) start to failed on year 2018. Symptoms : Sudden death/ deep sleep mode/ blackout etc. Can't power on with new battery or USB cable (laptop). Solution (1): Replace Emmc chip (only) - cheaper. Solution (2): Replace main system board (pay more if solution 1 not successful). Still a good phone to use, no complaints others than the above issue.

I had the Original Note for 2 and a half years and Loved it. Then I had an accident with it and smashed the phone with the car door. Obviously replaced by the Note II. Great phone for his time! I believe it still a workable phone for a lot of users nowaday if you have a new battery. 2 GB RAM is enough for tasks as facebook or instagram, manage emails and web surfing. In fact this is the dailly tasks for many users. Still... my phobe died two years later and to replace the motherboard, it would cost a lot. So I bought myself a new Note 4. Still have it and will be replaced by the Note 9 when starting to be not usable anymore. The beauty of buying a Note is that your phone will be a decent device even 5 years after you buy it. I will not even mention the S-Pen since as soon as you start using it, you will never leave it anymore.

About a year ago, I experienced continous rebooting, even when battery was fully charged. Bought a new battery, and it was fine after that. Not sure if a new battery will resolve your problem.

Finally my note 2 declare dead. Actually it's motherboard gone that's why battery drain fast . In service center i charge 177rs for only checking. That's very tough for me. Total amount for motherboard repair is approx 10k . My note 2 support me near about 3 n half year . I m satisfied .

Thanks guys Yes, the LED is pretty bright. I don't think the international version N7100 supports 4g. If you are rooted, you can use apps like Foldermount to almost fully move the data to SD card. And also it supports 64GB SD card. Hope this answers your queries.

Note 2 N7100 sucks because of kitkat. You cannot use any third party apps to delete, rename, move, copy any files to the memory card. This is not the case with android 6.0.1 in Samsung Note 4

Still using the Note II (4 years now). It has really started lagging in the past 6 months. Have really liked the phone all this time. My only complaints have been the low speaker output, the intolerable amount of time it takes to get to the camera and the fact that Verizon only pushed 1 o/s update out. I'm considering the S8+ at this point but the infinity display may make it difficult to protect with a case, due to the screen wrapping the edges of the phone. I'd like to hold out for the next Pixel XL but I'm somewhat irritated at the limited o/s updates that Google recently announced. I want Google or any android device manufacturer to support their phones in the same way that Apple does.

Only N7105 will support 4G. Not VoLTE. Non 4G handsets will support jio SIM only outside India that too only in 2G or 3G partnet networks.

My wife is still using note 2 as a daily driver. I have installed latest Cyanogenmod to it and that has been why she likes it. It does not lag badly and everything is up to date. I recommend ditching the old Samsung touchwiz android. Or if you want to keep stock OS then at least wipe the phone once and reflash everything, it's like reinstalling Windows... everything is smooth again.

You can use Jio SIM in Samsung Note 2 N7105. But VoLTE will not work and you must use jio voice app (keep mobile data on) to make and receive calls and SMS.

I would strongly recommend do not buy it. The battery inflated after two years of exploitation. I was told by customer support that after one year they don't take any responsibility for batteries even it says on them Samsung and it is part of the device.

the g represents g3 g4 data capability, its telling you that you have data capability when the g isn't there you have no data, like you disabled it, or you ran outta data or that area does not have 3g or 4g data access :) hope this helps :)

Hello. I really liked the S-Pen gestures for internet browser navigation on the Galaxy Note Two. Zooming or navigating front and back was possible with that button. Maybe, the next Note will bring two buttons on the pen: one for gesture control, another one for AirCommand, and maybe there will be some „AirDraw“ commands. But I am really glad, that Android 7 finally brings lockscreen applications like iOS7: Calculator, Stopwatch and some other useful stuff. Will we see the voice recorder and sensor status next maybe? Or even for the S-View cover?

Got motherboard replaced for rs. 6000/- n its back in action!!! Ext sd card facility which this has (unlike the recent inconvenient trend where no ext sd card supported) saved all my prexious data like movies, songs etc which were otherwise not backed up in any cloud account. Note that my battery is still original n more than 3 yrs old but still up to the mark. These things like removable battery,ext card,fm radio inbuilt, etc matter a lot in real life than some selfie taking feature etc which is the current trend with fone cos... so Will continue pushing my luck until i find a satisfactory fone or till this 1 dies . The Galaxy Note 2 should actually still be sold today in my opinion. That's because the Note 5 is not shipped in many countries. Note 4 is still the nose advanced Note. But there should be a medium-class Note (which is the SGN3), and the sub-class Note (Note3 Neo and Note 2, which is actually (without LTE) the last Samsung-flagship with Radio). Sub-class does not mean, that they're bad. Nothing about them has physically changed since 2012. But the Note 2 would be a solid, well-equipped (+Stylus) phone, with a price tag below €200.

Some old routers do not have AUTO WiFi channel setting. That may cause the problem. I am using Nokia N8 as my primary phone (for voice calls and pictures), Nokia N79 (only for 2G coverage during travel - has BSNL prepaid SIM), Samsung Note 4 SM-910G for data, browsing and VoIP, Nokia 808 pureview for taking pictures and videos. All are flagship models. I gave my Note 2 N7100 to my parents and is still working. Please buy Note 4 in flipkart (India only) before it gets obselete because Note 4 is only the last superhit phone in the Note series that has OIS, dedicated memory card and SIM slot, removable battery and gorilla glass 4. Please note : I am not against Note 2 and 3.

People are constantly complaining about their Note 2's motherboard not functioning after 2 years. Maybe it's just me, but mine has no problems, even after I upgraded to the S7 a week ago; 4 years and no problems! Despite the dated plastic design look and VERY outdated software #KitKat, it still functions very well! I just slap Nova Launcher on top of it s it's good. Good job, Samsung.

Bought this baby on 11.11.2013 and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. Camera- 8MP camera still outperforms most new mid range smartphones. Battery - Gets me through a day even though the battery is almost 3 years old. OS - Android 4.4.2 is old but who gives a damn when the phone is 3 years old. No hiccups. Root - Rooted the 2nd day after I bought this baby home and no issues what so ever. If you know what you're doing then you can't go wrong with rooting this monster. Ram - 2GB is more than enough if you are rooted and know how to manage how apps run. I have more than 20 different apps installed including facebook,messanger,whatsapp etc and still have about 900mb free ram at any time. (secret - Greenify + wannam expose module + titanium backup) I'd love to keep talking about the phone but the bottem line is this. If you are on a budget and need a phone that will age extremely well, Then you can NOT go wrong with this bad boy. If you love it then it will love you back and won't let you down. PS - You can buy more than 200000 accessories for Galaxy note 2 on Ebay and most of them are very cheap which is really great because that way you can keep changing back covers and what not when you feel like you're getting board. I want to say something about this crap company named Samsung , i have a note 2 phone and i am sorry i bought it , the phone have a damaged emmc chip from factory , i checked with emmc bugcheck from play store and it say "yes , insane chip" , in 2012 Samsung not admited first this problem with emmc chip, after media disclosure they say yes and promis to fix it via firmware , new coded firmware to bypass that bug , another thing is that they stop releasing new firmware lolipop or marshmallow for this phone and with this specs i think he handle this firmwares, why? because they want the people to throw this phone and buy another one newer , this is a crap company

It happened to my phone recently with exactly same situation in your case. The phone's lifespan is approximately same as yours (3 years old). I think I grilled my phone with overuse too. Even the technician of phone repair workshop can't diagnose what's going on with it.

Got it fall 2012 my gt n7100 died on Dec 2015. At first it started to go off or need a restart to function again. After a couple of diays it stock to the Samsung and model names. Guess I ve grilled the mother card by intensive use. FortunatelyI got a note 2 with a died display and could recover a device from two halves. Besides what seems a kind of programed almost sudden death I am in love with this device.

Try mokee or CyanogenMod. The marshmallow Roms still need work, but I have had great results with lollipop ROM - CyanogenMod 12.1. of course, you flash a ROM at your own risk. Proceed with caution. But for me, it was worth the effort and risk

I absolutely love my Note2. Everyone laughs because I have not upgraded to Note 7; I always say if it's not broke don't fix it. I've had it since 2012 and it's still going strong. It dropped on the floor and the ground and the only thing scratched up is the battery cover. I will continue to use the phone until the wheels fall off. BEST PHONE EVER!

if your phone is getting hot, even thought your unit is on and screen is off, go to settings >> then check for the advanced settings if i'm not mistaken then change the "Keep Wi-Fi on During Sleep" to Never (increases data usage) because, if it is activated or choosen by Always, it would be obviously getting phrone to heat, because data usage gets your unit heat at any times.. and how much longer the data or Wifi is Activated. it's just a suggestion opinion, just try, thanks.

Got this phone a month aago.First thing I did was to upgrade it to 4.4.2 cuz by default it was running 4.1.2 . Then I noticed battery drain so I rooted it and flashed a custom rom, Eclipse V7 to be specific. And it friking flies, with the rom you also get the Agni kernel and you can overclock it up to 2.0 GHZ if you need. Regardless, you also get the S6-S7 customized specific look in all apps and menus etc and it's buttery smooth. Note 2 ain't dead yet.

Had this phone for 2.5 years. Great phone! Now bluetooth died. Plastic cover peeled off... Bad support for new Android versions. Android version lags very much after a while. I've had this phone since Jan 2013, and started on custom Roms in about 2014. I've gone through about 20 roms, and am currently running 6.0.1 with the latest Resurrection Remix build (gets updated atleast once a month!). Can't recommend enough. Brings it bang up to date, why bother dropping £600 on a new phone... Tried the undervolting and overclocking route with Agni Kernel, and the DN4 rom, bit of a pain to be honest. Was stable at 1.8ghz, but its not worth the hastle IMO.

Force stop and disable all the unnecessary / bloatware like google play music, google books, google games, hangouts etc. Set the device brightness to manual at less than 30% when indoors and at night. Do not keep widgets in any home screen. Turn off auto sync and WiFi google search location in the settings. Just force stop all the rarely used apps (like bookmyshow, train availability etc) after using them. Buy a new original battery and test with the same usage pattern. Then come to a conslusion.

It is because of the WiFi channel setting problem in the router or modem. It must be set to AUTOMATIC. Not to a particular channel like 1, 2 or so on.

I've had my phone since 2013 and I'm still using it. Fell multiple times and a few scratches here and there but a tough phone. Screen is still immaculate without using screen protector. camera lens inside got dirty so had to disassemble the phone and clean the inside with alcohol and cotton but it's back to new. Still using the original battery which doesn't keep charge as good as it did, so that's a replaceable item. Otherwise it still keeps up with today's games and has a great screen, huge display and the s-pen is still great. Only issue I faced is I got bored of waiting for OS support...so now it's running resurrection remix Android 5.1.2 and a custom Asus Zen UI which looks awesome and the menu animations and desktop customizations are awesome. Only issue with the new mod...occasionally it reboots after using a specific app...sometimes. I love this phone and never regret buying it. If I would I would get the newest note and stick with Samsung.

..well unfortunately you wont really find it. Unless, you're gonna tweak around your phone settings. Go to Settings then you should see it under About Device which is "Software Update". Just click that option and there you go. Hope that would help. :)

Guys i have a tip. Before you upgrade to kitkat, make sure you backup all of your files from internal storage and sd card. Bcoz i got a problem when i upgraded the software. My phone hangs and the battery drops easily. I have 50 percent at night but empty when i woke up. So after you upgrade, make a hard reset or reformat your phone. Now i dont have any problem. No hang, battery life goes back. I can use it in two days without charging. Please reformat also your sd card before inserting. Hope this will help.

Its software and hardware has the capacity to compete with todays latest flagships. Todays mid rangers are coming near to it but no one can overpass it in terms of performance.

Hi guys, Actually the situation is that my note 2's baseband version has been corrupted... which means that i am able to use wifi, camera, music player and wverything else but i am not able to use any function related to the SIM... which means no calling, no sms, no internet from SIM provider... on my phone IMEI no shows null/null... basically baseband shows unknown... checked with almost 4-5 people but nobody is able to repair my phone and they only say that mother board should be replaced and that is the only solution... juat wanted to check guys... is their any cheaper option to repair my Note 2 as replacing motherboard will cost not less that 6k...!! Guys, i got this note2 for about two years now, with costumized and rooted room and happy owner, for about 10.days now i did bay the note edge the european n915fy and i admit there is better screen but nothing else is better than note2, the speed shrinks and warms your battery almost in boiling temperatures, 3gb ram is not enough to run internet explorer and it shoots off onstantly, there is sporty apps even you disable somehow will popup notification asking you for a ride out and counting your steeps if you made over 1000 or not and thats real jocke, no fm-radio, so you better keep your note2 as i will to.

Back up your data first and than format your phone. If is still not working, I suggest you sent it for repair. But nowadays is not worth to sent for repair as they are charging high with little effort to put in for repair. If I were you, I would have consider to upgrade to better series as note 2 are pretty old phone now. Even the note 5 are coming soon.

happend to me too a while back. while it COULD be the battery, id most likely say its the charger! go to a store and try to charge it there with a standard (no fakes, they dont work as good!) charger there in the store. notice chargers have 2 parts: the thing that connects to the socket, and the USB cable itself. for me, it was the USB cable itself that was not working properly. I tried a couple other ones and finally i found one that charges mine SUPER fast. i only had to change the cable, not the actual charger piece. try a few options in a store and see what works best!

To reset and clean up your phone compete, all you have to do is, press and hold the three buttons all together volume up, menu button and power button till the phone swithches off and start-up when the screen black&white writen N-7100 Note 2 shows up release all buttons and then with volume up&down chose the menu that says to reset your phone to it's standards...and with power button short press to confirm the action, and then all apps and data will be cleaned from your phone but not the sdmemorycard, let the phone finish it's operation and will self restart asking owner to setup new settings, bcz you just wiped off all from phone, good luck.

OR Check n delete battery draining apps which are of no use. battery monitoring apps are available on the play store for that singular purpose. My friend, you are misleading people, it doesn't restart phone bcz the battery is old, my note2 battery is old 3'5.years old and have no problem at all, the only thing it takes little bit longer time to charge than before.

That is normal. It just a sign telling you to change the battery with a new one. Samsung battery lifespan is only 2 years. Use it more than that then you will get a phone that constantly rebooting and automatic restart over and over again. Pop in a new battery the problem will be gone. Note 2 anf S2 are both pretty old phone and im sure you had used them for more than 2 years. 5 years of not changing the battery will give you a bloated battery. Yes, it look like it about to explode but its not. All of my old feature phone have bloated battery and it break the back panel with bulging or potruding area.

I have been using this phone for more than 2 years and it's functioning ok. The only problem is fast bettery drainage which is true for many phones . since I am on the run, I have also purchased power bank which keeps me safe till I come home. Since it is a good phone, I think it deserves an upgrade to lollypop.

I'm Planning to buy one of a Asus Zenfone 2 or HTC.. since my phone went out of order. All what you can do to restore your phone back is, You have to pres power button, menu button and Up volume button at the same time and hold them presed till the screen "Note ll GT-N7100" popup then release buttons and with volume buttons up and down chose the text it says something like "reset system...." all apps and data and phone numbers will be erased but not this on simm card!

Guys having the battery problem probably need to put a new battery.I had those heating issues and draining problem I changed the battery after 1.5 year and I had that original 24 hrs performer back on track. I suggest to change battery if it has completed over 1.5 or 2 years of use.

Don't worry about it. I figured out how to fix the chrome using my own DIY. I use silver vinyl and wrap it around the chrome rim. Then, I use hairdryer to stick it in place and use a blade to remove the excess. Plastic melt on plastic like a charm. Everyone should do this if you have this problem.

Probably the best phone ever. Using it for almost 2 years and work flawlessly, unless my version still not a 4g lte version (indonesian version). Mine's now on kitkat, oem OS. Decent image quality and sounds. With special bartery charger dedicated for note 2 by samsung and 2 batteries, my note 2 never stop doing its job 24h and really a plus point for me. I hope samsung would make a well built note device again soon with their reasonably useful accessories

Great Phone! Have had it for 4 years. No reals issues. Had to swap and SD card one, and get a new charger. The biggest problem was cleaning the power port. I used a toothbrush.

You can update to DN4 Rom for Note 2 N7100 really very good using since 4 months without issues, I used crDroid Custom Rom for Note 2 this is also very good but SNote won't work. See following links: Android 5.0.2

this phone fascinates me with new motion features of spen and zoom features in gallary. I always come across more and more features of same type which makes this phone miracle. recently I downloaded go launcher u.I. 5.00 and now I can simply open several apps through simple gestures. it has been more than one and a half years since I am using this phone and I am not at all in a position to change my phone. It had never given me any kind of problem. samsung rocks!!!

I'm using it since it came out. Never had problem with it. Very long batery life and hmmmm... what else to say? Good processor and 2GB of RAM makes it really fast (never seen it 'frozen' or lagging). The only thing I don't like about this phone is that it doesn't have Gorilla Glass but the one it has is ok. Has really nice 'writing stick' or whatever it is called. If u like big phones buy it :P

DN4 is no good room, most of guy's complains about it, so forget it and go for "ultra note2 v1.2" or "Aliance" room or "deep impact roomm" they work charming.

I rooted my note2 and flashed dozens of different rooms and stuff to it and works like never before, i overclocked sumetimes just for fun even i had no need for more speed, never any serious problems at all, and i think this phone is greatest from them all!
