  • It's chipset and CPU are outdated. You can get Xperia SP which is better and cheaper.

  • Don't waste your time, it has a dual core A-9 CPU, no gorilla glass and just 1GB of memory. The only saving grace is the direct-x compatible GPU. A dual core A-15 or Krait would have been a much better deal. And this thing would be priced similarly to the S3! for a few bucks more go for the S3 as it is having huge discounts now. Samsung you are turning into the Nokia of yesteryear... Sad!

  • Judging by the spec-sheet, the Galaxy Premier I9260 appears to be very similar to the Samsung-made Galaxy Nexus I9250, with similar dimensions, 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED screens, and dual-core processors from Texas Instruments. Their model numbers are also quite similar -- only one digit is different -- which makes me think the Galaxy Premier I9260 is some kind of a successor to the Galaxy Nexus I9250 for Samsung.   • sammobile dot com brought out a news about Premier!! They say, samsung will release in Korea a 1.4GHz quad-core version named as Exynos 4412!! Hopefully if it will be succesful, they will provide it for other countries too! Guys... :D it's getting closer and closer to S3, but yet it's better with the smaller size and same resolution which means the pixel density is better at premier... strong enough battery (in my opinion dual-core maybe better for longer battery life if the speed doesn't feel slower!! ) So don't bitch! ;)

  • The Dual Core and Quart Core don�t matter to the performance. S-III has Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 where as Premier got 1.5 GHz Dual-core ARM Cortex-A9. Having 4 core (like in S-III) doesn�t mean processor speed is doubled. Always check the Core speed not the number of Cores. Don�t think Premier perforce is a matter in comparison with S-III. In fact it�s a advantage TI-OMAP4 on which premier is based on is known for power efficient (less consumption) and more over dual cores eat less battery.

  • The phone is not yet available, you probably saw the S3 mini which is a redesigned S Advanced sold in Bangkok for 12900 bahts. So 13900 for S3 mini makes good sense. S2 being sold about 16000 bahts now and S3 20000 bahts, Premier should have a price tag of around 18000 bahts

But in the review of gsmarena they mention that it has gorilla glass 2 (it isn't appeared yet only in the spec. list... that's wierd otherwise) and I already have found on other phone website information about it too, it has gorilla glass 2. Which is sad in my personal opinion, cause it hardly seems, gorilla glass 2 much weaker than gorilla glass 1 (just search for drop test videos on youtube with gs2 and gs3 ).   • I dont know what y'all yapping about but this phone is my dreaming phone. Not as big as s3 but bigger than s2, plus jelly bean. The 1.5ghz dual core shows that it consumes less power and the 2100 mah battery is similar to the s3. However a 32gb would've been better but the memory card slot makes up for it. I was going to buy the s3 but this is the one i'm going to get if the price is right.

But don't forget, premier has SUPER AMOLED plus disp. while nexus 4 only has IPS disp. with a piece of crap gorilla glass 2, and ppi difference is only 2 ppi!! (I really hope premiere has gorilla glass 1!!!) if it will be realesed and samsung will notice that they should reprice it to under gs3, then I think it's gonna be a better deal than anything else.

  • That is done to keep the manufacturing costs low. WE all want low prices good configuration with new designs the costs will be high. Cant compromise on quality or specs then they have to compromise on design which new shapes and designs would add to tooling and thus manufacturing costs.

  • this would be around 30k in india while S3 is 34k with double the specs... i guess its not a major update over galaxy nexus which is available in india for 24k... buying this makes absolutely no sense while LG nexus 4 is a beast deal n its price would be approx 22k-24k in INR for 16gb version n it kills this phone in every aspects.. i personally dont like LG but since its a nexus phone from google n is really cheap for its specs n features that i like the most.. would definitely be buying nexus 4 once its out in indian markets...

  • I would prefer xperia T/TX over this phone coz it is giving a better processor, better GPU in some ways, better resolution (ppi), better UI (technostatic), better camera, mBravia Engine but poor viewing angles, a liittle smaller screen... I'm not anyone's fanboy but talking practical.... Buyers should go foe Sony Xperia T (Xperia TX global version).

  • Actually, for people who think that Samsung is trying to simply flood the market...this can actually be seen as a form of consumer R&D on the part of Samsung, while we as the consumers also get the benefit of having a choice of selecting which specifications we want in a phone for what price (A bit like selecting a PC with different spec options). Take for example last year when Galaxy Mini, Gio, Fit and Ace were released. They were all very similar, but Ace and Mini by far sold the most, due to feature-price ratio. And what did we get this year? Just Mini 2 and Ace 2 (At least where Singapore is concerned...). And for last year when I bought a Gio I got to choose whether I needed a higher MP camera or larger (albeit less vibrant) screen for a higher price. Same applies here, IMO this appears to be a successor of the Galaxy R and S Advance, with higher res screen and similar Dual Core Processor to keep the price down to a favourable level. :)
