Samsung I405 Stratosphere - User Reviews

  • I've had a Stratosphere for 3 or 4 years now. I got it for the keyboard... I insisted on needing that. After using it now mostly for phone and some texting (not much camera) for a few years, I forget that the keyboard is there! I found myself frustrated at not being able to check phone messages before the screen dimmed, preventing me from deleting or saving them. Then I remembered.... I HAVE A KEYBOARD!!... I don't have to rely on the screen to allow me to save or delete. Otherwise, I won't really NEED the keyboard... next time.

  • I have a stratosphere but is in sudden death and not find the rom factory . if anyone knows where to get it would be helpful and be grateful

  • I've had a Stratosphere for exactly two years as of this Friday, and I have to say - I loved it at first, but as time went by, it was pretty lackluster. I practically treat my phones like children; I coddle them. This is mostly due to the fact that I use them for so many important things. After the first year, my phone stopped charging. Quit completely. It started getting slower and slower and I just was so disappointed. So I had a replacement shipped over! A few months later and whaddya know. It stops charging. The back camera no longer works. The battery life is almost non-existent and it is slow as can be. But it IS a three year-old model with three year-old software, so. To be expected, I guess. Friday I upgrade to a Galaxy S5, but my Stratosphere will always be in my heart as a love lost.

  • so good as par customar choice this phone as a very good phone

  • I don't know what everyone's problem is. I've had my Stratosphere for several years and I've never had a problem. There have been some recent issues with a few apps not being compatible, but other than that, I love it. I highly recommend the Stratosphere; it's one of the few smartphones that still have hardware keyboards, the screen is sensitive to touch but doesn't go wonky over every brush of fabric in my jeans, the battery lasts all day if you're not watching Netflix all the time. Obviously, some people have had bad experiences, but I'm not one of them, and I know several other people who love theirs.

  • You are correct the worst product ever, I had 3 of them replaced, the third time for me was not the charm. I contacted Samsung and they refused to do anything to help except for me sending them the phone and having no phone until they could figure out the problem needless to say I ended up getting a free replacement from my cell provider and went with LG. Never ever go with Samsung ever again!

  • I should never have taken the best buy's salesperson advice. This phone is horrible. We have four of them. Thank goodness I bought the added warranty. I have had 14 (yes it's not a typo) replacements. I am finally giving up and just buying a different model on ebay. My contract is up deep next tear and we need reliable phones. Stay away from these. Oh and don't even think samsung will help either.

  • This phone is terrible... I have 8 months to go on my contract and am using the warranty for the second time. The first time the charger port broke, the second time, the connectors stopped working with the battery... It will no longer boot. So I had to use the manufacturers warranty. It's never gotten wet, dropped only once or twice and it just doesn't hold up. If I play games on my phone, I don't recieve text messages. It freezes on a lot of apps, facebook, games etc The processor is slow and jerky... I have never had to use the warranty before... The design is nice and I got it because my fingers aren't good with touch screens. But... that doesn't make up for the abysmal flaws in the hardware.

  • Sorry for the double post, this site wonks out my browser >>

  • My friend, you have a problem with the flat cable. Regards

  • I've had this phone for 1 1/2 years. I really like it! The only problem that's surfaced has been recently: when I close the keyboard, it shuts down automatically. It never used to do this. Now it happens every time I close it.

  • Have had this phone for 1.5 yrs and has replaced it 4x. Freezes and reboot randomly. The processor does not handle load very well. However for very basic use when it works it is a nice phone. Decent sound quality and reception.

  • I purchased this phone a month ago, the WiFi works great, it has never frozen up and it doen't drop calls. Updates are important, I make sure to do weekly updates and would purchase this phone again.

  • Replaced phone twice, freezes, sometimes reboots when closing keyboard or shuts off for no reason when possibly is over loaded with tasks (cpu overload) but seriously is a great phone otherwise, especially since it was free with 2 yr contract at Radio Shack. I love the slide out keyboard which allows for faster typing then only a touchscreen keyboard, this phone provides both.

  • good

  • The internet would not work out of the box. Multiple stores tries different phone of the same model and new sim cards, but could not get the data the work. Was just upgrading from 3G to 4G phone. I didn't think it was that complicated.

  • This phone has cool features but the phone quality is terrible. My phone has been replaced twice and my wifes is going to be replaced due to a loud squeel/screech in your ear during conversations. I do not reccommend this phone.

  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro.

  • Which is the GSM version of this phone?

  • gettin one today super excited since im upgrading from the motorola citrus.

  • Have u ever even owned a gsm phone?? Sim cards r completely different from micro sd cards. While a micro sd card is an external memory source ranging from as small as 64mb to 32gb. They r used 4 storing pics, songs, videos, documents, programs and just about anything else. BUT a sim card is much different, it stores ur phone # as well as texts and contacts. Its memory is much more limited. There r 2 kinds that i know of: a normal 1 and a data sim (they r the same only a data sim can b used for fast internet speeds and is usually post paid) a sim can b normal sized and micro which is just a normal sim with d edges cut off. Although u can buy a micro sd card in any electronic store, a sim card u get from a service provider ex. AT&T. Pleased google images if u dont believe me.

  • What are you talking about it has a Sim, micro SD

  • no radio????? ....... buuuuu

  • how do i changethe date on a recorded conversation i saved?????????????????? help pls

  • How can i start bluetooth features?

  • hi it is good

  • all 4g lte phones have sim cards in them

  • Now wouldn't this be a nice competitor to the Xperia Pro, had there been a GSM variant.... sigh....

  • Samsung I405 Stratosphere will not work on cox.net

  • Nice phone BUT will not work on COX.NET without going thought K9

  • Just get an Xperia Pro instead.

  • Where do I find this phone Samsung I05 I love it and how much?

  • I WANT IT! But why is it avaliable on Verizon networks (in the USA) only? It is sooooo unfair. Hallo Samsung, there are several million people here in Europe as well!

  • Why can't they makes this phone for a SIM card based company. It looks sweet! I'd love to have it on T-mobile, or AT&T at least, so I could unlock it and use it with T-mobile. Anyone know of any plans for Samsung to make a Sim card version of this phone?
