Samsung X620 in one of the best phones that one may enjoy using the features it has especially quick connection to the internet. This time round things have fallen on my side. This phone is now dead. Hi all, For the time that i have used this handset, it has for sure given me the best service that I bought it to offer. The phone has a nice look and is very portable. Good size just to mention but a few. So far the phone has served me since the year 2005 up to now 2008 without any major failure. For you information this phone has the best wap service access. It is very fast and can open complex pages that most phones do not open. But it and try now. The only problem i experienced with it is that it changed its serial number and now displays 000000000/00/0. I dont now the reason as nothing was done on it. It only restarted one day and lost all data that i had saved in it. Obviously I thought it was a virus i downloaded. May God bless your endevour.

Samsung X620 is the heaven of the phones. But I have a big problem with this phone. 1. It changed its serial number to 000000 00 000000 /0. 2. Initially I was able to download the applications like games and run them on the same phone but since the occurence of the latter problem this has not been possible. 3. Totlly I ve not been successful in finding the compatible software that can run in my computer to assist me in transfering the data from this phone to the computer. Data like photos are surely very neccessary. Of all the phones so far I have used this phone has served me for a period of 4 years without any braekdown apart from lossing the serial number. Please somebody help me to obtain the compatible cable, and software for this. I will be very greatful to your contribution towards helping me make my ends meet. God Bless You.

this phone isn't the coolest phone ever!its infrared is useless because it is used in sending contact numbers..the camera is useless also if you cannot even transfer the photos from your phone to other phone or at the computer..i can't say that this phone sucks because even though that it is like that (whatever),it still have an fm radio that i can use if i'm bored.. :)

The ir port in x620 can be used only for sending & rcving phonbook entries. For anything else to tranfer one has to use a data cable.

This is Hassan here again� As this is about 2 weeks has been passed now when I had posted my problems regarding Samsung-X620 gadget, but unfortunately I didn�t receive any a single suggestion via this online-interactive-forum as yet :( Certainly I will try my level best to keep this Cellular device as long as possible if and only if I will able to get these three solutions of my troubling-problems as below and due to these facts I want to acquire a such type of software that could be performed the following tasks as:  Give the total support for copying the SMS messages from phone memory and SIM memory as well into the Computer system.  Able to recognize and transfer the recorded voices or phone-calls to the PC.  Also could copy the images through PC 2 Mobile phone. I want to solve the above mentioned difficulties due to a very little memory size in the X620 Cell-phone and If anyone could give me a valuable suggestion I must be extremely thankful to him for his/her kind attention and all the other readers/guests will also be appreciate the effort. The only way to transfer pics from your phone is via a data cable (hard to find) or send it through email via your cellphone provider's GPRS service. A bit slow, but it works. :)

Hi my all the dears! Do hope you are enjoying your routine life with the Samsung-X620 Cellular-device. But now here I just want to ask that could anybody tell me please, how should I download the recorded voices during the conversation with Dictaphone option because whenever I try to transfer the said clips there I found only the preinstalled sounds (i.e the folder of MY SOUNDS #4.1.2) where the format of Melodies by default are in .mmf (i.e. Melody-~-.mmf) while the recorded sound clips are in the format of .amr (i.e. Voice-~-~-.amr). Although I have installed the referred/recommended software driver (i.e. Samsung PC Studio PiMS & File Manager Version 1.0 EHi) from the Samsung�s website. But unluckily not able to copy the voices inside my PC. As well as there is also a difficulty to copy the SMS messages via Cell to PC as the File Manger opens all the SMS but not providing an easy option to save all the SMSs into the PC. And also I am not able to transfer the Photos from PC to Phone although able to transfer the captured snaps from Cell-phone to PC. As there is very limited memory space inside this gadget (i.e. only about 3MB only). So I am very hopeful to get some sort of solution for these problems with the GSM-arena platform. I bought this phone 3 months ago after reading most of the reviews. But later i found there is a problem with the software, the phone gets restarted at least once a day, and at times it even resets all the settings in phone. When i went to the dealer since i have the Warranty, they said its a problem with the type of SIM card i was using(but it worked ok with my last phone for 2 years). Later i found couple more ppl with the same problem (one with the same model X620, also with X700) and got to know theres a prob with this series of models. Actually the dealer gave back the phone saying they have updated the software, but the deleted settings were not restored. I can set up the FM radio channels and other suff again, but the phone's IMEI no, Production Date etc(accessed via *#8999*8378# secret menu) were set to all zeros !!!! Add to this were another prob, where the phone gets stuck giving a strange display or unable to switch on, so the only thing is to remove the battery and put it back again. So even though still i love the phone for its looks and style, i do not recommend buying this or any other models of the same series(which has the same software with bug).Its too bad such a nice phone has this kinda big problems :o( At last no one wants to spend their money on a phone which doesnt operate properly.

I have been using X620 for some time now, its a lovely phone with clear network reception and clear photos! however, this phone has master reseted itself twice within a period of 1 month. sometimes when you end a call it hangs for almost 40 seconds. is theresomething that can be done about this?

I have X620 with me. Its very good. Its outlook is too good. I have U-fone connection but there is something wrong with it. It doesnt receive ringtones from u-fone network and its Infrared is not receiving ringtones from other mobile. Please tell me about this

To Amit : sure you can't find those menus? i found it for the first time i use this phone. from the day i bought this phone, it's pretty useful, but too bad it can't transfer pics and sounds through IrDa (phone-to-phone). i red that somebody can use Samsung software to transfer pics to pc. anyone can give the exact link? thanks to all. btw there is one error, when i tried to use new memo-call menus its ALWAYS error.i dunno why.

Hi all! There are two ways to download photos and sounds from your X620 to PC and to upload photos and sounds from PC to your X620. 1) use an infrared adapter, conected to USB port. Subsequently, you have to install Samsung PIM&File Manager. You have to install a driver to convert USB to serial port (usually, you will find this driver onto your CD, or on Internet), so Samsung software to detect an Infrared adapter on USB port (see Setup menu). Activate IR on your X620 and that's it. 2) simply buy and use a cable to connect your x620 to PC. Good luck!

It's camera is superb, but i think it is no use if we are not able to do download of images to PCs. i installed the samsungs pc studio PIMs software on my pc.after that i don't know what to do. i have bought that mobile 1 month ago and i found it verg wonderful with a very good resolution of camera that is really absent in other nokia phones and the amazing polyphonic that is known for samsung product. i wanna tell every one that the IR port of the mobile is used only for transfer of phonebook data not for transfer of pictures and ringtones and there is a data cable for transfer of pictures and ringtones from and to the pc. if u wanna software of samsung mobile u can download it from samsung website this software include huge number of photos and 40 polyphonic as a cadeau also there is a photo editor to can download any photo to ur mobile with ur favorite changes. the memory is small but it is very good for that price and comparing to other phones of the same category of other companies. the largest problem is the confirmation sound which can't be stopped till now. thanx end enjoy x620 club

I am using last one month Phone is good clarity of the display and the reception is fantastic I could transfer the photos from my phone to pc through infrared it is very good. I am facing some problem 1. If I use FM battery is getting discharged very fast. 2. some times its making Echo. 3. playing FM it is giving disturbance due to head phone cable problem.

this is to inform all of you that there is no possibility of sending and receving rington or picture via infrared diveice...you need an external data cable to transfer this of via gprs...so forget of downloading anything via infrared device...ok.....all samsung low budged mobile does not support this......

Hallo friends, I am also new user of this phone but as far as I know IDR port is mainly for phone book transfer from your phone to Computer and vice versa. You can also use DATA CABLE of X620 for image and ringtone transfer, you can get the DATA CABLE from SAMSUNG MOBILE PHONE RETAIL SHOP which may cost to you within 600 to 800 rupees.For using the DATA CABLE you have to download software of SGH-X620 from the SAMSUNG site and then install that software to your computer. I don�t think that you can increase its memory because it is fixed. And i must say that this phone is really good.

most x620 owners have the same problem, sending photos .. I've tried to send my photos to my Acer notebook by Irda, and its work! . . just set up from the PIMS, change your Irda set up to speed 57600, but it doesnt work in my Office PC. it just work in my notebook, even both using Windows XP.

Hy! I have purchased a X620 and it looks super. The radio is very usefull, and it sounds crispy clearly. The camera looks very natural. But I have one problem! I have purchased samsung X620. The problem is that i can transfer only phone book to any other mobile through infrared. I have successfully transferred photos and audio/3GP files from sony ericsson K700i to my PC through irDA. But not be able to send pics from X620 to PC using irDA. I have installed samsung pc studio pims file manager 1.0 software on windows ME but it cannot detect X620 phone and shows as "offline". While infrared adapter software can detect X620 and when i activate the irDA port of X620, it immediately shows an icon on PC screen and shows mobile model. But when i am sending photo(jpg)to X620, after 90 or 95% completion, it stopped and shows a message that data is invalid. Please tell me how can i solve this problem? This question is for all of you who said that they have successfully transferred photos from X620 to PC.

I've compare the pictures of my x620 with my collegues phone ther are SE K700, Siemens S65, nokia 6210 and Samsung x640, my x620 is the best quality camera (clearest pictures), even with S65 (1,3 Mb camera) and x640 (more expensive price). and the sound is more clearly than the others (same as x640), and the more advantage x620 is the FM radio. but the problem of x620 are : small memory, lack of battery, and the Irda just function on Phonebook. . no body need to transfer phonebook, everybody need Irda to transfer Pictures and sound. and . . . my data cable not applycable with my PC . thats my opinion, hope u can decide the best.

Hi, I've bought X-620 three days back & I'm quite satisfied with its performance. Camera is no dought good. Takes good quality pictures. Functions are also good. FM Sound is very clear. But there are some bad features also. 1) FM is not clear while moving 2) Voice recording is for one time only. you can not have different clips. 3)Games: Quite boaring. 4) Message sounds are not louder 5) Vibrator should work with the tone. here it vibrates first & then tone rings. 6) Battery back is not upto the standards. You can not listen FM while travelling with relaxation, coz you always fear of battery going down. SAMSUNG must improve over these features.

i bought the x620 3 weeks ago, i am really happy with this phone... 1. the picture is smooth, very bright LCD. 2. the FM radio quality is good. 3. irda is fully function. i connect it with my laptop. you just have to download the PIMS File Manager ver 1.0, install on your laptop/PC, and setting the connection between your laptop/PC with your handset from the software. it's not a problem whether you use irda or datacable. that's it... =) you can transfer phonebook, image, ringtone from PC to phone or from phone to PC. 4. the bad thing is the internal memory, so little... but it's not a problem since you can transfer the picture/the photos to your laptop/PC's.

Lot of guys are concerned ovr Radio and Cam, But, Tanvir for your questions.. 1.Go to "New Message" and SMS screen will appear, then push and hold the "*" button, there you will find lot of signs including the the "ENTER" Option to go to the next line. 2.You can see the sent SMS in the Outbox, and not like Nokia and SE phones of the same price range, the X620 and even the old X100 can store up to 200 SMS. venkatesen, I agree with you, MP3, more memory and Bluetooth would have placed this top of K700i and Motorola E398. But you cannot find any Nokia phone like X620 at this low price (US $ 140) Samsung you have invented great phones like D500, E700 and P860, but lately you have been releasing lot of phone types with the same options quickly. Why dont you take a while and release a phone with all the current options? Like you did with D500 an year ago?

The X-620 is an excellent phone with a very good value for money features. Positives: 1.Excellent colour display 2.Good VGA camera (this camera gives around 65-70kb photos compared to nokia 6610i which gives just 20kb in the best mode!) 3.Ease-of use: the front jog dial with quick links is a breeze!. 4.Good stereo FM - when not moving, the quality of stereo FM is superb. 5.Morning Alarm: You can even set the alarm, switch off the phone and the alarm rings at the precise time (even when the phone is switched off)!!! -an excellent feature for people who travel a lot 6.Record conversations: you can record 33 minutes of talk!!! 7.Very light weight Negatives: 1.Poor battery backup -with around 1.5 hours of FM use, the battery charge drops to a level of single line in the indicator. 2.FM quality is poor when in a moving vehicle (lot of hiss heard even when just next to the FM station) 3. Bothersome auto-lock feature: activated in just 5 seconds. 4. The manual does not mention about many fine features What feature could be added to this phone: 1. A moonphase indicator on the calendar display screen on the top left corner . (it is not a complicated feature, just a software tweak required) 2. Improve the FM radio especially when moving An excellent phone for all Nokia users. I bought this phone after using Nokia phones for more than 5 years. I did not feel any difficulty in operation. Bought this phone when an Nokia dealer (yes, a Nokia dealer!) compared N6610i (which I would have almost bought!) with the X-620!!!. Was immediately sold on the features. Nokia compares poorly especially in the colour display & camera features.

use tool-file manager in samsung easystudio pims to transfer data from/to x620. no need to use melody/image to phone. before this, use must active the irda connection in your phone, and setup connection in easystudio port.

Black Stylish design attracts every one from any age group, large Clear Samsung well knowned TFT LCD, Samsung is a key to sound any kind of ringtones u r listening every instrument is clear is this set the previous X-600 flaw of low size of ringtones in mmf format is removed now u can use any size of tones, battery time is about 3 days with 30 mins of call and same time of using funtions(which is not bad with a mobile phone having quality camera and radio), radio is excellent sounding with upto 30 channels catchable, peoples saying about the PC connectivity issue this is not an issue i am now using my old X-600 cable on it and every thing is perfectly ok either u send or recieve Media files. yes memory is quite less for this kind of fone just 3MB but you can use-to with it, camera is of VGA type means goods quility snaps in most kind of pics if u consider about some light, shades u will make make titanic shot from this VGA Camera in resolution of 640*480.u can set ur ringtone on a desired persons whether now u can set his/her photo to see who is calling. i personally tell u something about "voice clarity" option if this is on either u whispering the person chatting with u can easily understand. and last weight is just 81gms what more haan!

Comes with a CD that has the USB driver and other complete bundle of software that Samsung provides. Other than tranfering phots you can edit phone book, SMS, Orgnaizer, Upload/ Download tones. i bought this phone yesterday, so far so good. this phone have everything i want, so far. it have camera, speaker phone, voice recorder, loud and clear ringtone, fm radio, so what?? about irda, just like many other samsung phone, it needs easy studio software, find it in the net, this software allowed u to transfer sound, photo and image from and to the phone, hope it helps.

i have plan to buy this phone, good looking, small, and light weight. but since i read the opinions, i become not sure. especially in IR device that can't transfer photos to notebook/PC's. so the IR can't transfer data to PC's, but can it receive data from PC's? as example, can i transfer wallpaper from PC's to the handset via IR? anybody know?

I also bought this phone. Almost everything is almost perfect except the PC to Phone Connection portion. Now I totally agree with the saying of "what is the InfraRed for if I cant transfer my photo out since the memory is too small to store all in it" Funny thing is when I check Samsung Fun Club website .. the PC Connection Version is "N/A" so wat does this means? InfraRed is useless??? and cable does nothing good too???

i had also recentely purchased X620, i also died on its look and FM spekear phone capabilities, its a good phone, camera and screen is also good, but one thing pinch me that i want to ask the designer why the hell you have given a camera & sound file option in the phone when you cannot even transfer your data without GPRS, why the hell i should get a GPRS connection and then download premium tones/images/sounds, what is the use of giving a Ir port when it can only be used to transfer phone handbook, i dont know what kind of useless phone is this? what is the use of the camera if i cannot transfer atleast my cliked images to PC. i dont know why samsung is doing this to its consumer. plz do something about these problems otherwise your mobile is a dud.

bought it a day back.. and what say me.. I'm impressed :) It was like love @ first sight.. Was lookin through a few phones in the showroom and once I saw this, I just fell for it ;) It's really cute and has pretty much all the functionality I need. Only thing I can crib about is that it doesn't have Bluetooth/USB to speak with my PC. And the IrDA doesn't seem to be working as expected :( But the camera is really good :) The TFT screen is nice.. beaming with colours :) A major miss out is the ability to extend the memory externally.. I cant inrease the damned memory :( But guess thats okay.. I've to press the keys a lil harder (compared to my old Nokia 1100 that is).. That makes it a lil bad fr SMSing.. But a real nice feature is the keypad shortcuts.. I just have to and a few keys to reach whereever I want, without using the usual navigation keys.. And there are straight shortcuts to access most used functionalities.. It's as easy as hit a (single) key (one of the navigation keys) and reach wherever you want :) I'd say it's worth every penny you spend on it :)

Wow. It's an excellent phone in term of design, fucntion and money. I agree this mobile has some elements that we may find similar with others' but the point here is that it is really worthy to buy. Enjoy!

This is one of a basic cool phone that ever introduce by Samsung. It have all the same fuction like Nokia 7250i except it is better. This phone have FM Radio, able to MMS & GPRS, the best part is there is Loud Speaker and it is very clear. The camera is just as good as Samsung D500. It can Zoom too. If this where to lunch together with 7250i, Guess this will be a big hit at that time. Now, is turn out to be a midle class phone. So, if your Budget is around RM600 (Malaysia Ringgit), Then this is a good phone to consider. It comes with Phone, 1 battery, 1 handfree and a chager.

So few MB of memory, and no card slot? major drawback, nice design, I don't doubt this is a good phone, but with the camera...if not a card slot, then some more memory would have been nice, it has less than the X100, and that one's old...
