Sharp 940SH - User Reviews

  • Anyone know where to purchase a complete housing replacement for 940SH?

  • 100 fps?

  • hi i've been trying to get my hands on the exact same phone you have. can you tell me where you got it?? im located in new zealand and its literally impossible to find :( [email protected]

  • I am using this kind of phone for almost one year, the battery is not that good. Every camera shot will take 1 percent from your battery... and to owner, this phone is also available in gold. i am using gold... but overall i still love my phone.

  • Are you really interested in this phone? I have this phone currently in hand now. It is a second hand phone but the phone is in a very good working condition. It is sold at $750 negotiable. If you were to buy outside, it will be sold at a price of $1200.

  • Is it available in Egypt, please? If so, how can i get it? Thanks.

  • I like this phone... but is it available or will it function in Singapore? how can I buy this?!

  • philippines? 2nd hand available in Greenhills.. in Manila.. average price $100 or below.. I bought a Softbank 740SC dark blue for $75 2nd hand it has 2 Megs.. but no bluetooh.. nah.. it has micro SD slot works good with 8 GB.. this phone up here can probably stand 32 GB

  • i love the Sharp phone

  • this phone is released by sharp for softbank, so you cant get it from any else where besides japan. Unless you have contact in japan then you are able to get yourself one. However these japanese phones does not come cheap, it will usually cost you from 450 to 600 Us dollars

  • yeah me too, where to get it in Malaysia? and not AP set, original set....

  • where do i buy this phone in malaysia? it really catches my attention

  • hi i m from india and want to buy sharp 940 sh.. can anyone tell me that where to get this set from and how much will it cost??? plz reply as soon as possible

  • www.unlocklink(dot)com, try there! :)

  • Im from singapore and i want this phone too! saw someone using a sharp flip phone on bus today and i came here to view all sharp flip phone... the features sharp offers on this phone is utterly breathless! anyone has any idea where to get this?!

  • how can i conect with the company

  • i just wish they could sell them,in Africa especially Botswana, because they make great phones we also want them this side.

  • i really wish they will start selling their phone to singapore! i wanted to buy a flip phone since long ago, but there hasn't been any except for lollipop. so sad!

  • wen wil dis hit the indian market, if anybody know pl post it.

  • you're correct!

  • how I'd wish this kind of phone is available in the philippines. GRRR!!!!

  • Ntt Docomo will announce their new collection in November! They will announce something very awesome! Ntt Docomo is the BIGGEST Japanese mobile phone carrier. I read somewhere a few days ago, that the upcoming phones will be unlocked, so you can use it overseas some features!! I think, that Japan will "attack" Europe and America aswell! :) Japan is the BEST at making mobile phones in the world!!

  • You want to say some of their phones have 13.2 MP camera. :) Sharp will announce in November a 15 MP camera phone, or a 14 MP(with CCD camera of course).

  • No problem with this product I do beleived and trust the capacity and performence, i has been using 903 sh for 4 yrs already. where can I buy in shouth East Ais regoin. BKK / Singapore pls give me back yours advices. I ant to buy it this new product.

  • This phone has awesome specs, but... It's not a smartphone. I wouldn't be able to justify purchasing (even if I was in Japan) such a high end phone with out the capability of running a 3rd party OS. Personally I Sharp should start making these phones with Android and take them world wide for consumption in EU and NA.

  • It records 864×480. And Japanses phones are always ahead when it comes to camera and video capabilities. This phone has a CCD sensor. Most of their phones have 12 MP. Some new phones this summer are also equipped with 14 MP and 1080P.

  • wtf 12mp camera and video recording is just qvga it shuld b 720p or 480p

  • i was told at the softbank shop when i got the phone that the street price is about $1k US the touch panel is nice but i don't use it to much. It's really like and the buttons are the best buttons i've experienced on a cell phone

  • Hey, guys! Sharp has released its new models. They will be available to buy on June 2010 in Japan. Check out the NTT Docomo's website to find out more info.

  • hi guys. does anyone know the price of this unit in euro.cause i couldn't find any information about the price. i would like to buy this phone but i live in europe not in china:) can anyone help me

  • Hi just asking if anyone from the philippines has this phone? ( or any sharp phone for that matter ) and works. The reason for this is that I am interested in this phone (or other sharp phones) but I'm not sure if these are available in the philippines, or can be used in the philippines. If they are, can someone direct me to a place where they sell sharp phones? :)

  • in the pictures section it shows the phone folded (closed) with the screen on the outside. Does anybody know if the screen swivels or if it fold back all the way or if thats the outside display I'm seeing.

  • can it used in ireland?

  • Is there any advanced Sharp phone that can be used with all its functions in Europe (mms, internet ..)... Sharp makes something good for Europe !!!

  • Flash is Xenon nt LED

  • Hey all yes all transfers need to be done through the MTP transfer through windows media player. Data cable works now. Its been 1 month now and I've only needed to reboot the sim card (put it into another phone to get reception then putting it back in the 940sh) once. All in all I would recommend this phone. Ive taken some pretty insane photos with it but as mentioned in previous posts there are fallbacks

  • Correction : Flash is LED, not Xenon.

  • can it be got in ireland?and how much on pre pay?

  • i have found fone like this in tiffian stores

  • try this one.. tiffian.com.. they sell japanese fones

  • Well.....in spore can find la search online sure can get it....need hypersim to work. WHat I know is GPRS will never ever work overseas coz Japan have their own style of network ( so if in spore u sign for data plan if u wana use Jap hp its a waste of $ unless u have a Jap and local sold hp to juggle with). 1 thing abt hypersim is that it will have signal lost issues. If you are looking for 12 mega pixel camera , the Jap brands now in the markets have many models which have this already. Some have water-resistant function , thumbprint sercurity , super fast camera shuttle speed , nice light displays....

  • I think Jap type of handphones do not play mp3....they only play wma some can play aac.

  • hi everyone..i am from singapore..i wanna this model but dunno where to get it..if you guys know please tell mi..thanks!

  • it is good this one has infrared port....now i can control other devices as tv,streo e.t.c

  • i wanna get one, but i dont know where to buy it (other than japan)

  • Japanese cell phones are the best in the world!! Unfortunately, they don't want to sell outside Japan, unless you have a seller in your country a.k.a. blackmarket.

  • this phone can operate outside japan ??? in china?? or indonesia maybe???

  • The main round dial, just above the number keypad is a sensor, Like iPod. For Example: The menu style is spherical. Just move your thumb around the dial and you can select the application you want.

  • Hi all, The phone was purchased from somewhere around capitol theatre. I've had a fiddle around with the phone. The screen clarity is great, user interface is really good although a bit complex at time due to the huge number of functions. The reception is pretty much as good as any other phone. The camera is awsome, videos play really well and quite clearly. MP3 and the data cable at the aren't working I'll have to visit the shop again and ask how to get it working (it does work i just cant figure out how at the moment). Viewing documents work relatively well, documents over 10mb are over the file size limit, the touch screen UI makes it quite good for reading manga if your interested. There are also all the generic functions such as calendar, alarms, stopwatch etc that you would expect plus a few more you don't. Wi-Fi works pretty well, the phone suprising supports flash while browsing however a flash game 1.3mb exceeds the file limit for that type of file. HD video streaming is also off limits. I paid $800 for my phone with the hypersim, charger, data cable, spare AAA battery power charger, and screen protector (note none of these are standard, chargers and data cables are sold seperately because all softbank phones use the same port, hence you dont end up with 5 of the same chargers every time you change phones.) 1 year warrantee included and extendable to 2 years. Overall very pleased with my purchase.

  • your right their but what if all sharps models went worldwide then you would have a problem of which one to buy...I would buy the lot if i had the money..

  • japanese market is shrinking and if sharp and other continue to make products solely for domestic market then it it just a matter of time before they start closing one after another. look at samsung and lg, their products are everywhere and the chinese are coming too while sharp and other japanese company just sit in their own backyard.in other words, release this phone to the world! hehehe!

  • The price is around $720 or around that!...:)

  • what is the price-anyone know?

  • wOw... very nice to have it... 12MegaPixel is so amazing... In just 1 foldable phone only... Maybe if i know where can i buy it, well i grab it... Its so Nice to have one...

  • where did u buy it in sydney?? i really want it

  • I've recently purchased this phone from Sydney after seeing it in Japan. The phone is currently being shipped over but was able to learn a few things from the shop keeper: For all Softbank phones (the company that sells the phone and locks the phone): -If you let your battery fully drain then the phone will lock. -The inex is only good for one registered sim card. -Either of these happen then you'll have to make a trip back to the shop For all japanese phones: -gprs will not work (but wifi will) -only japanese applications can work -GPS will not work as there are no applications that will work Info about the inex (neccessary so the phone can be used in Australia): -Reception is not perfect and varies phone to phone (~90% reliability for this phone with telstra or 3 only) -Softbank reception is better than docomo -Only selected phones can be unlocked (mainly sharp phones) Positives about this phone (reasons why i bought it) -12.1MP CCD camera. Is far superior to the 12.1MP CMOS cameras that are sold here. -preloaded organiser tools and apps and music and video players work -Good screen resolution. -Wifi does work. -Phone looks cool all together this phone with the inex and cables will cost about $800 If there is any interest I'll post a bit more info once I've received the phone and had a fiddle with it.

  • its looks very attractive

  • In terms of able to work in Australia...unless you get the Jap version alot of things will be locked therefore you may need the hypersim/inex cards...but if you buy the phone from HK/CH/TW where its the asian model...you maybe able to use it normally..really depends where the phone is sourced from!

  • is it for men?

  • It's unlikely that you will be able to use this in Australia.

  • can this phone use in australia? is it compatible with australia network?

  • if it is actually posible to completely jailbreak it, it makes n97 looks like cheap phones esp with the 16:9 screen, 12mpx and all

  • where i can buy this phone??

  • the reason that sharp fones r not in the market except in jap is cuz its only designed to be used in jap reason for that jap ppl dont really like to give/share products with others ~~ eg JDM modles of cars is more expensive then other spec. to use sharp fones u have to unlock it and then stick this thing on the fone so it can use other carriers then do something like "jailbreak" like the iphone to use its other function like games or internet if u dont jailbreak it sometimes the only thing u can use is msg.making calls.music. the price for one of these u can buy nokia's new N97 sharp fones are just a toy fone ,,, only for playing not using

  • this phone is too advance i don't think it's features can be use in other countries that's why sharp and other japanese phone cannot sell their mobile phones elsewere without taking a lot of the features out of their phone. too bad.

  • I like it, I never seen handset with 12mp camera!! Is there anyway to get this phone in Aus?

  • awsome, more great phone brought by SHARP. hope SHARP want to reselling their phone in indonesia.

  • Sharp, we adit you are the BEST in the world!!! :) Please bring your AWESOME phones to Europe! :)

  • Wow. Looks very nice! Awesome specs!

  • Wow, I think this may the be one of the most powerful phones out.
