This phone is small but marvelous, it's my basic device at the moment. And i'm loving it i must say. in spite of it age, it still does better than most of the basic java phones out there. The call quality is good, very loud, music sound quality via handsfree is top notch, am really feeling the megabass set up, it's so punchy mehn. Battery life is great too, camera is okay and i can even run more than five apps at a time, this is indeed a cool phone.

I bought mine T700 from China in 2011. They are still available from AliExpress, have had no problems getting phones from China to Sweden been a dozen older phones so far. Since then the T700 have mostly been unused as part of my classic mobile collection. However this weekend I begun to use it again, with an inactive SIM- and a 16GB M2-card. Just for fun. Late this Saturday night I was watching movies on a TF103C tablet, but when tablet's battery run low. I had settle with listening to music, from the T700. Connected by bluetooth to a HS3000 BT stereo headset, to an even older BoomBox, on the other side of the room. GOD! It worked perfect. Compared to a W880, the T700 is much faster using a 16GB m2 card

Wonderful phone, the best I've ever had. It looks great, for a teenager and a decent adult, too. It is thin, not that wide and its height just fits. The metal back makes it more professional, and the smooth pattern feels really good. It also can be easily removed, which is really rare nowadays. The phone's quite heavy, and with its dimensions, it is amazing even to keep in your hand. The buttons are small, but distinct. The phone seems small, but the display is quite big, and its resolution is absolutely amazing. The camera is good, and we get a LED flash, too. Sounds excellent, and the protecting cap of the memory card slot doesn't dangle. I've never had problems with the battery, it is quite strong and 1 charge lasts for long, even if used for long and hard. It is clever, knows everything the SEs do, has Photo-, Video- and MusicDJ, TrackID, can do Video calls, and it's fast. Although, I miss the whole Walkman thing, it's a real nightmare to navigate and start listening to music. What is more, it was a bad idea to put the File manager INTO the Organiser, while alarms has its own icon in the menu. But the shortcut button is a great idea, makes many things easier. All in all, it is an excellent phone, and after 3 yrs of intensive use, the only problems it started to have were all software problems (although they were horrible, made using the phone a living nightmare, even with the latest software updates, it could not be saved.). Getting old is the biggest problem of SE phones, but before the phone going crazy, it gave me wonderful moments.

am using t700 since2007 in some cases this mobile performance v cant define i.e its awesome v cant zoom the images while capturing but v can zoom the images after capture to a large extent....the only problem with t700 is once it stops working then will not resume working because of s/wr's,and also it dont have wi-fi dats the major prob.. any way any one wants go for sony phones jus get T700.....

I also have T700 since 2009, it's a great phone. It's slim and the sound quality is just awesome. I hope this phone will be my legendary phone ever. But for more than one year the body was broken and i replaced with the new one even its not original from sony ericsson. My opinion is, why nearly all of sony ericsson phone are so vulnerable, and easily cracked? why is it because of china made? therefore japan made would be better, anyone can tell me :)

Awesome phone :-). Nice camera.but little sensitive. Awesome media player. I have downloaded 100s of theme the best ones i would say and then the media player looks just awesome. I am now using a windows 7 named theme. Its a 3 mb theme and its the best till now that i have got. Awesome display. Yeah and i must say the guy is right. The display is little dim. It should have been little brighter though.the snaps captured are upto 2 mb. Quality is just awesome as 3.2 mp is concerned. Even though you will zoom the photo it doesn't get blur.its really the star part of the phone that makes it great.9 out of 10 on camera. i have downloaded 100 games all awesome and selected them from internet like gold from mines. Some games are freaking awesome. But then phone automatically gets switch off :-P. I don't know Why. Then i have to delete that game, though it was awesome.because phone always gets switched off:(.. And one thing when media player is on the phone operates slow..another thing am using 100s of applications and am so happy wid my phone helping me in day to day life. Its such a user friendly.i can't live W/O it. It makes life so simpler.the applications which am using are just unbelievebaly awesome.;). I thought wi fi should have been there plus gps and definately secondary camera should be there. Or what would you use 3g for when you would be video calling. Holding a mirror in your hand.sound is great. I have downloaded some high base songs and the world seems to have been bouncing around me awesome base bro..i haven't heard that of w960 that could have been the best as you say. First its a walkmen phone. And secondly sony ericsson:-). Awesome headphone.i Love it..download the song journey to bass. Its awesome..nice feature to see your present locations on google maps as soon as you click your photo..:-) lacks gps and wifi thats the prob..am not getting vibrating menu themes apart from default anywhere. Am just freaking crazy bout my phone. And used it to extremes levels till my mobiles goes out of control and loses its consciousness. But can't find the vibrating theme anywhere. Superb camera quality. . Slightly less sound quality as we individual doesnt require more sound its valid only. . And the slim look makes this phone more aesthetic .but, beware of its panel . Nowhere u will get this panel . So ,no scratches, . . Etc . . After seeing my phone's picture quality my friends all now taking pictures in my phone camera and transferring them to their phone . . Nice, cute looking phone. Very slim; that's what it makes attractive and nice to hold in your hand. The display (240x320) is awesome. Rarely do you see such clarity in the images displayed on the screen. Camera quality is also very very good. I have other 3 MP phone cameras and this really stands out. I have been using this phone for the past more than two years and I must say I am happy that I bought it. There were some issues with software (phone switches off during a call or while playing a game) but they are not very serious or do not occur frequently. I paid >11K for this phone.

i bought my t700 2 years ago and since then there's no repair and problem with my phone. i so love the features and the comfort of using my phone. but what i like most is that it let's me do another function while there is an ongoing file transfer. i can also text while im connected to the internet. the battery lasts longer than my previous phones. the camera is still working properly. but my only problem is the case coz its not scratch resistant. good thing i chose silver. i'd like to know if there is any way that i can have it change so it will look new again.

I've been using this phone for almost two years and It's been a good one. But here's a tip: Don't pile up your inbox with a lotta messages because it'll slow down the phone's performance. Okay, it´s like this and that´s the way it is! Sony Ericsson T700 is OK, no more no less. Great design, slim and neat for the eye. Nice interface - clean and simple. But... Bad reception, shaky camera, high SAR. Not the best phone from SonyErisson, but far the worst one too. Standard cell for a standard user.

friends i havebeen using this phone for last 18 months, initially i was disappointed with this because of low volume of speakers and slow operating system but now after use of 18 month, definately i can say it is good phone easy handling, sleek design, low weight, nice keypad, good video quality, many applicationa (maps,navigation,converter and much lot), good online support from company for upgradation. only cons are low speaker volume and slow OS.

Dear friend, U just download wavepad sound editor software from the net.. in that software we can increase the volume level of the ringtone.. ance u select the ring tone song and increase the volume by using that software. after that u save it in one location.. again open that saved file in that software.. again increase the volume level and save in another location.. do this continuously 4 or 5 times.. u will get the high sound as much u need... try this.. only u want to do is how many times u r converting the same tone by using the wave pad software...

Go to settings-> USB-> then select default mode as Media transfer if u want 2 charg without instalin PC suite. N about the call i dont think it last only 4 1 day.. N code memo is 4 saving secret passwrd or keywords. if u 4get the pass code or enter it wrong u can always reset it.

After fully charging a new battery (upto 12hrs) use it until it is completely exhausted, then recharge it, do this every time rather than recharging a battery that still has power. You roughly get 500 recharge cycles on a battery, that means 1 cycle is 1 time being plugged in PERIOD. If you unplug after a few secs or minutes and then plug in again thats another cycle lost.

Generally, this is a good phone. The problem is that it won't connect to the Internet via my pc, if it does the connection is instable and it loses the network sometimes where there are high-voltage cables. Though there is a superstition that slim phones do not hold the charge it does it just all right! Works with java just great!

This phone is OK. I rate it 6/10. Best: small and functional. Worst: bad audio quality (even if you turn it to the max) and high SAR (almost maximum). The price is nice and it´s slim & beautiful. But a bit boring maybe. Had a SE K810i that had to hit the trash can. I miss it when I compare it to my new T700. I´m not unhappy with my T700, but I ain´t loving it either.

I have this phone for over a year now. It hangs and it collapses but its probably due to overuse since I use it EVERY.SINGLE.DAY 24/7. When it hangs and collapses, all of my msgs get deleted. I once stored around 10k messages combines in both sent items and inbox. The camera has no auto focus so its bad if you like taking pictures but have a shaky hand like me. Other than that, the colors are magnificent. As for sounds, it sounds like its inside a tin can since the back is metal. The back of my phone has a lot of white dots in it. I guess its because of the metal back which tend to have its colors removed when placed in a rough surface. In a nutshell for me, its an OKAY phone. Not good, not bad. Just so-so.

I've had my T700 since November 2008; I've had no problems until recently. The phone restarts by itself, and won't boot up completely. It can be solved by reinstalling the latest firmware, but it's a hassle when you're hours away from your computer (say, outside or at work) without a means to reinstall.

Like All SE phone this also doesn't have seperate 3G mode.As i have seen in many places this "Netwok Mode" selected as "GSM&3G" remains on GSM only most of da time as GSM signal quite strong as compared to 3G UNlike Nokia offers seperate 3G/UMTS mode.So as a result of this phone remain in 3G mode even if 2G signals are full.It will luk 4 only 3G And once SE phone switches 2 GSM mode it rarely switches back to 3G mode. So its 3.6mbps not usable most if da time.As its overlapped by GSM signal

try and reset your phone's setting, after which do a hard shock (while the handset is on, remove the battery and keep it for 1-2 minutes to completely refresh the handset) then turn it on and check if the problem still persists. if it does then you may need to have that handset looked at by a qualified service personnel. by the way, the code to reset your phone is 0000, if you haven't changed it yet.

I've had mine for about 4 months. I love it! It's so small and slim, and the keypad's ergonomics are great! I've dropped it onto tile floors a few times and my puppy chewed up the case already, but the phone still works. My only complaints are the long boot-up time and the way Java apps use up the battery- minor complaints. The camera's not that great but I have a good digicam anyway, so I don't really care.

I�ve been using this phone about a year now. I love the look and the weigh. But � it gives me a lot of problems. The screen always turn off by itself. I normally find out when I try to use it and I have to turn it on. I didn�t even know when it is turning off. I could have the phone in my pocket for a whole day and not knowing when it is off. Sometime the screen just blank out, and sometime the Bluetooth doesn�t work. Again, when this happen I normally just remove battery and turn it back on. Now, it doesn�t ring anymore. It�s only vibrate. Speaker works fine when plays music. Don�t know what�s going on. I�m ready to get a new phone at this point.

I have been using this phone for more than 2 years. I think it is great. There was a period of time when there was some problem with the phone such as part of the screen's content not showing which I just solve by switching it off and on or taking out the sim card and putting it back in again. (I think it might be because I drop the phone a couple of times...) After that short period of time, the phone had been performing smoothly. I like this phone especially because of its compact dimension which suit my rather small hands, and I like the weight of it and its texture and colours (mine is red-and-black).

The internal antenna of this phone was so weak compared with the another SonyEricsson with the same service provider and at the same location. I believe that the location of its internal antenna was in a lower part of the phone or below battery part which was always coverd by hand during used which really effects call quality, power levels,and lessen the signals. T700 had signals fluctuation and always had less signal bars on screen. I dont know if this problem persist in all T700s. Not all Good!!!

Seriously, I dropped my phone into a large bucket of muddy water. Dirty is to be mild. It swirled around for some seconds before I got it out, cleaned it with some pressured air that was thankfully available.. and it worked! It still works! If it continues to work for another month I will write SonyEricsson a personal thankyou-letter for not spending 160 euros for nothing. The keys are rather small and I really should text more to get used to it..

Pros: -Good camera -cool interface -small and compact -hot overall design -good battery life -flashlight is bright -loud tones Cons: -no autofocus -side arrow keys cannot adjust volume so you have to either set a shortcut to the volume or adjust it manually everytime Awesome phone, I do not regret buying it. The only major problem that annoys me is that the side volume control does not actually control the volume. Pushing the up or down arrows will just bring up the phone status screen which tells the model, phone #, memory, battery, and alarm time. I bypassed this by changing one of the main arrow keys to the volume control so its not that bad. Silent mode is also easily accessible by holding down the # key. Get it.

I've been using this phone for one year already and I am really pleased with it. Good battery life - and I do speak a lot. Stilish and resistant at the same time - I dropped it on the stairs twice but had no problems except for a minor scratch. The soft is a bit slow sometimes and camera has no autofocus; still, it's really good for a middle class phone.

I've had this phone for a week and I love it! It has everything I was looking for in a phone except a GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack. It's small, lightweight and slim, yet feels solid and well-made. The numeric keypad, while small, is an ergonomic joy to use. Lovely tactile sensations. The sound quality of calls is OK, about the same as my old P990i. Sound quality of the radio or media files is poor though, as is the screen resolution (though that could be partially due to the affect of the screen protector). It makes and receives calls well with good connectivity, is easy to text on, has games, a stereo radio, a media player, a flashlight, and a decent web browser with fast Internet access and a mouse pointer. I barely know I have it in my pocket due to the small size, and would-be thieves won't see a bulge.

first of all. i think you baught a broken one or second hand. you were right about the advantages of this cell phone, although there are much more, but we won't go into that... you were all wrong about the disadvantages of the cell phone: 1.as I said i think you got a broblem if it's look that bad in your computer. But you should know that the screen on your computer is bigger so thats why it looks so "bad" on your computer. 2.about the huge earphone: YOU CAN CHANGE THE EARPHONE. you can go to the nearest cell phone store and pay 15-20$ and get a better one. 20$ for earphones that are IN EAR design like when you get when you buy a cell phone from the W series at sony ericsson. buttom line those are really good. 3. you need to chek the phones speakers. because i can go on wallstreet with the phone on level 8 and i can listen to my music. and the cars are not interrupting(that's the best part) 4. it's very friendly! what are you like 93? it has the same operrating system in W995 W705 C902 C905 and K610I and K530I!! I tried Samsung E250 & U600. they was marvelous. but they have a bulky problem with Battery> I used to charge my mobile everyday and sometimes twice a day. so I decided to get Sony Erricson. I found that this T700 have no bad comments about it. and this was my mistake. I will show you now how much is this phone a crap. lets start with advantages : 1- Excellent battery. I used the both Game & Music for more than 5 hours and the phone survived for a day and half. 2- strong body with nice colors 3-high screen resolution 4- a lot of features and applications 5- high processing speed 6- high 3G Speed 7- strong flash led 8- Good Speaker Sound Disadvantage ( DISASTERS ) : 1- the camera give you a good photos just on T700 Screen but when you see those on a PC you will find out the real performance of it which is So bad. 2- HUGE EARPHONE which I Guess that had been made specially for the HULK use. and it is useless anyway. I hardly hear music from them with a really crap sound . 3- the Sound of the phone it self is so bad too ( not just the earphone ) the equalizer is useless and no need for it at all. it make no difference. the volume as 16 level. level 6 = level 0 in Samsung . which mean you hear nothing at all at levels 1 ,2,3,4,5 & 6. you start to hear anything at level 7. 7- not a user friendly at all. soo hard to find your way to a file located on the memory> 8- the memory slot is M2. not a micro . so hard to find a way to got your data from that memory. 9- until now I didn't succeeded at all to exchange any files using Blue tooth . I tried send or receive to Nokia , Samsung and even Laptop . NO HOPE TO SUCCEED. 10- NO CALL DURATION COUNTER AT ALL. not for the received calls. not for the dialed calls. no even for the the total time duration. you never can find out how many hours did your phone make. you never can find out how many missed did you receive from a particular one. you have one chance to see that when you see it for the first time. once you click on the red button. it will be refreshed and would never know again when and how many times or even the duration of your calls. PLEASE NEVER BUY THIS CRAP. MY QUESTION TO SONY ERRICSON: HOW COULD YOU PUT JAVA AND 3G FEATURE IN A PHONE FAILED EVEN TO CALCULATE THE CALL DURATION WHICH IS A BASIC FEATURE ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is THE best sony phone ever... it has stereo speakers,decent camera 3.2mp and everything! i dropped it like 12 times and also gave it a bath in water...this is the most indestructible phone i have seen to date! The only demerits are: 1.very slippery... no grip at all (well that explains y i drop it very often..hehe) 2.while recording an incoming call, the beep sound is annoying!

Hi This is suresh from hyd i have bought the sonyericsson t 700, Actually ...i have also got the same problem, suddenly its went to emergency mode...then i went to service center they said problem with sim card,actually this mobile doesnt support old type sim card series for that you have to change sim replace.....and cleary ask support type sims....if u want more info...go to service center they will say the series type...becoz i forgot the series ....

I bought T700 two weeks back though reputed channel in Sri Lanka. I was very concern the battery life & very good talk time 9 hrs. Usually my max accumulated talking would around 2hrs per day. After full charging the battery would enough only single day. In other words it doesn't gave me 9 hrs taking time. Then I took to the agent, they replaced a new battery, still same.

@ everyone: the T700 can indeed record a call from the moment the dialled number answers, via Options -> Record. @ Angie: the recorded call should be saved in the Music section of File manager. The file's name will be the contact you were calling.

I used t700 few month ago b4 my ex g'friend exchange it with her nokia n95... Meby it can store sms �nly limited by memory avaliable on your phone or memory card... But when there're so many msgs stored, it going to slow when tryng to acces sms.. I've tried not to deleted sms till 7xx sms, n no allert of msgs memory full... Not like my prev w810 whitch can store nomore than 150 sms..

That's exactly what I did! I have a the 5310 Xpress Music but, felt so disappointed with Nokia of late that I switched (back) to Sony-Ericsson. So, i got the T700 and I'm quite happy with it. The 5310 was ok, but, I felt there was something missing. I suppose having been a W810 user for a few years may have tilted my hand towards S-E but, the S-E products seem to work so well ......even a simple thing like using a S-E bluetooth headset with a S-E phone was far less stressful than trying to use a nokia handset and bluetooth headset. So, to offer my suggestion in the most simple form - Go for it! krraank

I purchased the handset IMEI No.357746021028474 on 18/12/08 vide Bill No.1342 for Rs.11,750/- from a dealer "Manyavar's" in Mysore, Karnataka, India. About after a month since then, the phone always goes to Emergency calls and the network gets struck up. As soon as the call is connected, the signal vanishes and the call gets disconnected. I lodged complaints several times in Feb'09, on 9/4/09 and 3/9/09. The Customer care "Accel Frontline Ltd"(0821-4281953)has tried three times to correct the instrument, but in vain. I demanded for a replacement of the handset. It was rejected. I am frustrated with the attitude of the reputed company. I bought the phone with high regard for the company. Now again I have given the handset for the third time on 3/9/09 to the customer care. If I do not find a solution to my problem, I intend to approach the Consumer Court. Eagerly awaiting your response.

Am using now sony ericsson T700. The ringtone volume is very poor. Picture quality is very good realy. But the fault is no auto-focous. My early handset was SE W76O it had a high ringtone volume. I sold it becouse its conector got complait, i am very careful about my mobile, but i wonder how it happend. Anyway i cant hear the musics with its reall quality. This seems to be a decent package to look at. BUT>> 1. the charger is really grumpy and stops charging the phone bcoz of the kind of ports it use. nokia has a better charging style. 2. The phone shuts off by itself and does not come on for a few minutes and then turns ON all by itself. This can happen any time. standby mode, while talking on phone or anytime. 3. the sound quality is not the greatest. perhaps that is the reason the phone is priced so competitively. overall sleek, good battery back up, camera is good(camera in a 3.2Mp in nokia is better). PS: I am a DIE HARD sony ericsson fan. using sony from the past 9 years, never had a bad experience with sony but i am a little disappointed this time.

Hi Adeel, I dont think there is any limitation for SMS storage you have option im message where to store the messages either in phone memory or in memory card so based on the memory card capability you can store your SMS....

I'm using this mobile for past 8 months.. its too slim n sleek. - In camera the flash is not good, it's just a LED light we can use that instead of torch not as a flash for camera. - The black color panel is getting faded.. its too bad:( - Battery power is good. - music player is good. - we can use multiple functions in a same time. - the mobile get hangs for sometimes and it ll get restarted automatically. (disadv) i dont know the exact cause for this. - Please check the memory card brand name is 'sony' while buying. Because the mobile shoppers cheated me with some local memory card. U can post any queries to me i'll reply u.

There is only one theme that doesn't automatically do the vibration thing when going through the menu - "clarity". Otherwise, you can go to "theme menu layout" (under "options" when you're in the main menu) and choose anything other than "from theme". That should solve the annoying vibration problem.

I have using this phone for the past 8 months...all i have to say is it was really an excellent phone to have...The extra slim which makes it more comfortable..and the screen resolution was awesome better than any other mobile manufacturers SE always produces phone with great sunlight legibility. ] I have used N82,samsung phones where these phones freezes often but T700 doesn't hang or sluggish in any par of time for these past 8 months which was really good.The media was too good in it overall an excellent phone to own!!!

I like this phone. I have this phone since december 2008 and its a really nice handy phone. everything works very smoothly and it comes with 4 themes, pictures, and a vid. Though there is no auto focus on the camera, the 3.2 megapixel camera is still good. the flash is huge O_O very blinding I must say haha. Useful for a flashlight as well. its very light and it fits anywhere. you can even text in class without getting caught :P

I have been using T700 for about 7 months..and it's really an excellent device. The screen is perfect for the sunlight legibility which was better in all SE handsets than any other mobile manufacturers. T700 has a great battery life comes easily for 3-4 days for normal use.With the software update the music experience got much better with overall multimedia experience. The slim which would any one to carry in your pocket without any issues of using separate pouches. The camera could have been auto-focus which would be much better. Overall it's a excellent phone that's worth of buying

Have had this phone for 1 month now, and i must say im impressed. I was looking for a cheep W890i and found this one instead, and figured it must have a more updated firmware and so on since the W890i is pretty old. I cant say that I've experienced the same problem as other people complaining about the phone getting electric when charging and mine is working fine with Jabra BT3030, its genereic bluetooth so. Anyhow, here's some pros and cons. + *Very Slim and light weight, fits perfectly in hand and pocket. *Nice and solid buttons, easy to navigate and type. *The aluminum gives a robust feeling and i guess it would withstand even the higher drops. *Pretty fast in operating system for being an SE (mine is not branded so) *Battery life, needs recharge every 3-4 day so i guess its average/OK. *Even though half of the phone is plastic, it is very solid built. *Great sound in internal speaker. - *No accelerator *Not compatable with many of the flash menus for other phones. *No way of increasing volume for sms sound (SE flaw i guess) *Standard SE power connector instead of mini USB and 3.5mm sound connector, but it is no walkman phone after all, still that is no excuse for not having it. *No auto focus on camera. *Only 512mb bundled memory card *No dedicated play button, but then again, this is no walkman phone. *Average/bad sound quality in external speaker, not for music, but if you use a jingle of some sort it will sound clearly. Overall, very good phone and i like it very much. Its slim form factor pretty much does it for me :). I Recommend it to anyone who wants a slim phone with turbo3G support. Cheers /Daniel

I just realized that you can see it in standby if you press the zoom-button on the side of the phone, the lower one. Its rather small but better than nothing.. Anyone who knows how to add flash-menus or change the icons in the menu in any way? To me they are all too colorful and windowish.. Otherwise, i must say. I love this phone. It has a great feel in the hand and the buttons are supercomfy. I really recommend it!

The alarm clock tone duration is too short it lasts for only 30 sec. in my T700 then it goes automatically into snooze mode. Is there any way to lengthen this time duration, does any one has this problem.

Yeah, Its really very good looking fone, especially who love to have a slim phone in ther hands. So graceful. On good thing found with this phone is that its charger has a slot to use data cable to headset while the battery is charging. This faciity was not available with SE earlier. (I was using W700 earlier). Only on problem I have found with this phone till date. may be this is due to some virus. It hangs for exact 40 second, when you receive to dial a call to a number which is not stored either in phone book or dial list. I know I have to take it to service center for that :( Over all a very good experience with this fone till now. Specially camera.

How come some of sony ericsson cellphones today has limited 3g video calls. When on video call, you can only use the primary camera. Thefore you won't see the person you're talking to unless one of you flip the phone. Notice the supposed secondary camera is blocked by white object.

Hey Greg, The voice quality is great, i know, because I gave the C510 back due to its poor voice quality. Sound is good too and the speaker is excellent, though with these smaller/slimmer phones you do need to turn the volume a notch up as compared to the good old solid phones. T700 is one of the dwindling few good SE mobiles.

I had originally bought the C510 but was thoroughly disappointed with build quality, voice clarity and sound. The C510 may pack in a lot of features for the price but it is a sub-standard phone that feels cheap. I exchanged it for the T700. This phone has amazing build quality, feels good in your hand with its silver and polished-textured black finish. Voice clarity is amazing, the camera is decent, the feel of the phone is solid and richer than it's slightly higher price tag than the C510. It's sad the T-series has been relatively ignored. Sony Ericsson's standards with the C- and W-series are gradually slipping. The T700 was the only other new SE phone I liked. Except for one or two little things like no sleep mode clock, the T700 is simply brilliant. Battery is good and the locking mechanism to remove the battery cover is so superb it makes the C510's rip off cover look like a cheapy Chinese-made toy that's been recalled for being a child hazard.

sorry m8, there's no option for zooming in the camera if ur using 2mp or 3mp, bec its not comaptiable, but the older phones like k750i, w800i, w810i has zooming option on 2mp camera option, well is quite bad thing to not have a zoom feature on the latest t700 or sony- ericsson phones. well get a better phone which as zooming feature.

I"m using T700 for past 4 months.... Very Good phone with good features... Music player is good but external speaker doesn't gives good sound.... Battery life is excellent and camera lacks autofocus which is a great disadvantage. Flash light is not so great in night if we take photo from distance.. This mobile is more slippery... But D-pad is great when compared to joystick

well i got this phone 3 months right now, its really great phone and mp3 player, only what i think it dont got its flash for camera, ok you got really great flash light but not flush for camera in nights and so... once needed tried to photo but only aprox. 0,5metres was needed to see what i'w got... that's the really big minus... but as phone its really great only sometime it got buggs it restart and then again ok, but for SE its normal i think ;)

Here�s my month experience with the Sony Erricson T700 Cell phone. Intermittent Charging errors. Unstable, very slow response software even after updated. Not worth the high initial cost to purchase phone. Bulky when proprietary headset is installed. Unable to load workable 3rd party 3D games after loading factory suggested firmware upgrade. Tin can sounding speakers gets annoying after a period of time. No auto focus is a big disadvantage when taking snap slots. Next time I will purchase a Nokia

I've had a Black over Silver model for about 3 months now. Bought it direct from SE UK for �194 inc delivery. The phone is great and is the only A200 platform SE phone I've owned that hasn't come riddled with bugs and hardware problems (I currently own all of Sony Ericsson's A200 platform phones) Camera is quite good for a fixed focus module. Led is a bit weak but is ok. UI/Features/apps etc are the same as any other SE phone but with the exception of some different Java apps. Breakout is an excellent game which I can't stop playing (anyone remember Arkanoid from the 80's ???) Numberpad is good for texting but I find the d pad a little small and sometimes end up pressing the select button by accident. Overall this is a very good mid range handset and one I'll be keeping for some time.

i had encountered the same problem as dandy's. its the video flex that has a problem. since its still under warranty, sony replaced the defective part. and now its working perfectly. from the moment i saw this phone on the display rack i fell in love with it. slim and stylish and with lots of beautiful features. and the price is very reasonable.

I bought T700 3 week ago. It's fine in design, very thin and light in weight and comfort in your pocket. Its display is easily readable in direct sunlight even if you wear a sunglasses. it's aplication has many new features that is interesting and applicable But few bugy. few tims (i don't understand when and why) the activity menu key lock and does not work and you should restart your phone to fix it. Its one of the slowest phone in work (in load menu, load and search phonebook and even dialing a phone number) Its not for a busines day. After 2 week its D.pad edge colour start to wear off. You have a big problem in noisy place because its ring volume and vibration is so weak that is not sensable. The camera for lack of focus is not suitable for taking pic of text or any near object. Battery last for 2 days of average usage. at last if it was faster and has auto focuse it was the best phone I ever seen.

This phone is great for its value. Of course it's not a Cybershot phone so don't expect a very good camera. It's also not a Walkman phone so don't expect good music player software or speaker sound quality. If you're just looking for a phone that looks good and most importantly - does its job, then this phone is for you.

Got this phone about a month back, It works well has a decent battery life, a decent camera and cool flash themes.Ringtone sound is also loud enough might sound more on the treble side but it should be fine for most people.Singal strength is also good. Not encountered any problem so far.

After using SE k500 and w700 I bought T700 last week.The set not so impresive as seen on the computers. Its backlit is not at all effective. Further once the keypad is locked,and alarm is set on, firstone has to unlock the key pad to respond to the alarm. Can any one commenton the above points?

I have used three of the K series.My only complain about them is that it is very easy for people to just pick up the phone and read on messages in the in box I would want to suggest that in the subsequent model it should be built in security code for the message in box so that people would not have access to one's messages.

I'm not sure how so many people are having problems with their Sony Ericsson phones. The T700 is my 4th SE Phone and I've never encountered any problems except dust under the screen of my W610i. My T700 hasn't crashed, frozen, or anything. So far I love it! I got the Red/Black one and it looks sexier in person and much nicer than the boring silver in my opinion. The audio DOES have that tin sound. It has a lot of treble and no bass whatsoever, but honestly this doesn't bother me. All phones sound more or less the same when you play audio through the speakerphone. Camera has surprisingly performed great! No zoom, but I sometimes shoot in VGA mode if I do need to zoom in on something. Very thin and lightweight. My only complaint is that the vibrate is too soft. Even when I'm sitting still and somebody calls me I can't feel the phone vibrating in my pocket. But this is due to the slim design. Overall, I definitely recommend getting this phone. I considered the G705 and W910 and I'm so glad I went with this one. Just don't mod or throw a bunch of junk onto your phone and you shouldn't have any software problems. Only things I've added are games and the phone runs like a champ.

Hi (VIDEO ALERT DUE TO VIRUS) i was also impressed with this phone T700 and got it immediately. once i got it..i transfered few files from another phone. after that once is played video after few secs..phone switched off & on. went to dealer confirmed that due transfer of file virus would have come. wen to sony ericson store within a week got it replaced...now its so cool......

In my opinion, just stick with the K810i. Or, if you want to upgrade, buy a C902. I say this because I owned a T700 (previoulsy I own a K800). Some disappointments on T700 not found on K800: - no front camera - speaker (it sound very tinny) - camera (no xenon flash and no autofocus) Then what's good in T700? - keypad (soft and responsive) - thin body - VERY lightweight I tried C902 and I found it to be better than T700 in almost every aspect except that C902: - is very heavy - keypad may be very firm at first but after you used to it it's very enjoyable.

After 2 years of loyalty to my Samsung E870, i decided to change my cellphone. In last 2 months, I have tried LG KF510, Nokia N95, Motorola ZN5 and in the end I found SE T700 which seems to be my best choice. It is cheap, light weighted, solid with simple design which can satisfy my essential needs from a phone : good call quality (personally i think SE provides very good sound quality), legible screen under sunlight, great detailed phone book, large sms storage (~6700 sms), good talk time (i've been using my phone for 3 days with heavy call use but still left 56% battery). I have the shining pink version which looks like rosy gray under the sun - not too cheesy. I hope my opinion helps.

just checked the latest firmware version, its R3EA036. but it is still got a glitch...that is can't use the multitasking key when u just used the FOTA from the phone. you must restart the phone then u can use that key.

I have a problem with my T700 The thing is that I have a 2gb memory card...And when I make any videos and try to play them, they wont play and give me the error "PlayBack Failed"...And when I try to Install any applications in it, it gives me a message that "Low Memory Space delete some data", while there is alot of space empty in my memory card like around 1gb or so... Cons: - The loudspeaker is just thrash. - Vulnerable as it is very fragile n delicate and has an exposed camera lens. - Doesn't support Symbian S60 applications (any symbian for that matter) - Smaller screen size compared to N73/N79 - I haven't yet figured out on how to swap between multiple applications running at the same time. Don't b worry,, that's call soft reset, 2 refresh ur phone RAM when its being 2 busy.. It's happens many times on mine cos i'm a hard multitasker.. Now i've instaled memory up pro (from emobistudio) to provide virtual RAM when phisical RAM has not enough space to run my current task, n nomore hang, sure, i've tested running media, 7 apps n texting simultanusly, no hang... Only going litle bit slow, Normally i just run 3-4 task at the same time

At 1st, u have 2 realize that 3g not only 4 video calling purpose... It's for faster internet conection, n most people use 3g to surf the net, in present video calling being unpopular fiture, So it's a smart decision from se to product 3g phone without front camera..(cheaper) fortunetly t700 still provide video call, using main camera, n we have to used a mirror i guess... Haha, that was funny about your breath, but yeah that is definitely a big no-no there. Having a hole in the screen is very dangerous I think, because aside from the dust getting in, there is also the possibility of water getting in if your not extremely careful. The only thing I can sorta suggest is putting a screen protector over it and atleast prevent from anything else getting in there. Sorry if my advice is no good =[

It's concentrated mostly in the upper left-hand corner. I tried blowing air into it and the screen fogged up( I guess because my breath was hotter than room temperature). That means that there is a hole that goes to the inside of the screen meaning that dust can also get it. I just have no idea how to get it out. Also, the fog eventually evaporated from the inside screen so there is most definitely a hole there. Even with my plastic bag, dust keeps getting into it. I have no idea why. I need this phone for another 11 months before I switch to a new phone and I've only had it for about a month and a half... -_-

Hi guys i have bought this handset 1 month before and i am writing my experiences on this handset Firmware: Main: R3DA028 Generic Fs: R3DA028 S-ASIA-LEVAN I have got Red on Black version of T700, even Silver on Black is hot, Phone is amazingly Slim, looks hot. now going interior, the media center is hot, and looks very attractive, but when you are inside media center and when you want to do any other work, say typing messages, playing games, the phone becomes so slow, may be this could be due to shortage of memory, or the phone processor is slow, and about the camera, photos are not the best, but good, since the camera has got fixed focus, and the video recording is good, since the resolution is QVGA with 30 frames not 15 frames, Gsm Arena is wrong. look at the white paper, or use a video converter tool to check your recorded video, sound in headphones is good, Speaker phone is fair, since its very tiny, and cracks at some time. Battery last for 2 days of average usage. keypad is good, and D-PAD menu. screen is fine, could have a big screen. pricing is ok.

Hey the key lock can be found by pressing * and the button above the End Call button. The calculator can be found in the Organizer tab. It'll be the second to last function. I don't know about sleep mode.

Hi all se uSer Do u often experience a own restart problem? It's call soft reset, happen when ur phone RAM being too busy then the aplication u run being not responding.. Se A200 platform often experience this thing... Meby it's caused by the limited RAM (1mb) n it's support flash that consume a lot of RAM 2 run.. Litlle bit annoying but i think SE provide us to save our device with this.. If u use another device, when it's going not responding, u've 2 release the baterey 2 turn it off n turn it on again.. I think soft reset or own restart is much better n saver solution... So don't blame ur se phone advantages Love SE ROCKZ!!!

It's a slim, functional workhorse with a pretty decent camera, good speakers and seems very durable. The only downsides I can think of are the fact it might slip from your hand because of the slimness, and the fact the camera isn't made for extreme close-ups.

I have been using this phone for 1 month. Use the camera for my work. Music for relaxation. All in all is a good looking, workhorse. Does the job. The only down side is because of the slimness, it can slip and fall. Overcame this by adding a cord.

m2 cards all have the same file format so any size would work with any phone that takes m2 unlike in sd cards, anything over 2gb is a different file format so it depends on the device whether or not it supports it

for mine it can be used normally for shortcut key , press the left keys it means the below right left hand key , you will see my shortcuts menu you can add the shortcuts by drop down to new shortcut and manage it easily. the t700 is good because it has flash and the w890 is good because its a walkman if i where you i would go with the w890 unless you really like flash

I just got a T700 (black on silver) yesterday, I'd been looking for this phone for a week but most sellers got out of stock. This is the slimmest and sleekest SE phone I've owned. I owned a K608, W300, and K530 before. The phone looks really beautiful. The soft keys are changed. I'm also missing the back button, and still getting used to the new set of soft keys. Like what others have said, the sound that comes from the speaker isn't that great. It sounds like a tin can. Also, I tried recording and I noticed that mic seems to pick up a lot of noise. The interface isn't really that slow as what people here have been saying. It's because of the animation, that's why it takes a bit slower for the phone to respond. Camera is good considering that it's not a Cybershot. Overall, I'll give it an 8/10. Design wise, it's a 9/10. :)

I just got this phone and its really nice. Simple and elegant. The music and cam function for me is just for back up. My prob is, I've been experiencing the phone restarting on its own. Thrice. Twice when it was on standby in the message box, and the third one while on idle mode. Does it need an upgrade? Please help. Thanks

Hi i am hemnath from India. I got a red on black T700i on 18-Jan-09 for 11,350rs (INR). i will give a detailed review about the phone. Since i gave a complete look at the phone and i will tell my experiences. This phone is one sexy model that i ever own from Sony. my previous phones were (k810i, w810i, k750i, k700i, t630i, T230i) and this one i like the most, but the phone has got some flaws too. i am not very happy with the keypad, have to use it carefully, and slowly. i will also say that the phone is bit slow, can't cope up with the speed my K810i is very speedy, may be it has got some stabled firmware. and next, the phone reception is not too great, i mean fluctuating signal, this problem is already described here. The media center is good and does its job. The camera is ok, and captures it very well. The K810i and T700i battery are both same, but my K810i last one day longer than T700i, i mean the ratio is 2:3 in favour of K810i, may be you can start using normal themes instead of flash themes in the mobile and can get extra battery life... the music player is good and does it job clean the headphones that come with the player is bass reflexes headphones, which does it job very good, sound is really nice. the interface of this phone is good, but the downside(for me) is i lost my traditional back key which is found in other sony phones (K810I, W810I, T610I), So i took time for me to get used to. the power button is replaced, it is just call cut key now. To be frank the major downside is, the phone is bit slow, when you open media center and they you minimize it, and open other application, you will see the difference, its very slow, especially while typing messages, the phone reacts very slowly, this is the only problem for me bluetooth, and works with ease and everything else is fine. I am expecting a software update soon, to make the phone more stable. To be frank the phone doesn't hanged at all, it is slow. so a software update can do the job, i am expecting the price to go down too. since C510i will be soon out. so watch out for that too. but my eyes will always be on T700i So guys go ahead and buy T700i, you will love it.

Previously had the T650 wonderful phone and thinking of gettin this one! Got the C902 as a present for xmas its rubbish very slow buttons are very fiddly, pictures very dark even though has good options like best pic etc..... Will defininately get the T700 better the devil you know it works all the time

well the phone choice is upon your needs and size of your hands.i am using soft black k770 (recently bought) cheap and beautiful.previously had k800 and i think the xenon flash is much better(although theres no flash light in it).There isnt a perfect phone (execpt the C905) i suppose, so its ur call buddy:)

Yep, i am from the Philippines. Is that so? hmmm.. i dont know if that's a good option or not. But if that's the last option, i hope it could make the unit a better one. Too bad they won't replace it. I'm not saying that it's not a good phone, i still love my phone no doubt about it. I just want to get rid of its defects.

hi... i have this phone for a mos now and im very happy with it. nice camera for video recording. nice camera too for taking pictures. when it comes to the sound, my nokia 6300 is far better than this one. T700 does not hang up. basde on my experience. but how come UZZAP of smart is not compatible with this phone. its a 3g phone but disadvantage is only one camera. 4 gig maximum memory. im using it now. a lot of videos that you can save. video is very good.

well are you from the philippines? the worst thing could happen is, they will replace the entire motherboard and retain the housing of your T700, they dont replace the unit.

I do have the same problem. it hung i think 5 or 6 times and to make it work again you have to remove the battery first then put it in again. My phone did had another problem, the volume key was not working. I brought it to a sony ericsson service center and the last update i had with them was that according to them they tried to update the software but it failed. They said they will bring it to a high level defect. I hope SE could make a good replacement deal if they encounter problems with their customers like this.

The GSMArena review on this phone stated that video recording on the T700 is only at QVGA @ 15 FPS while Smape.com utterly praised the video recording department because it can record QVGA @ 30 FPS like the C905. Can anyone confirm? Is it 15 FPS or 30 FPS? Thanks..

I don't think so. The battery doesn't drain more easily if you set the mobile network to GMS only.

i do have the same problem as yours. the only thing different with mine is just it turns off by itself then get back on its own. i hate it when it happens. i haven't installed the software that sony ericsson has on its site ready for download. afraid, that i might make it worst. maybe, i'll just bring it to sony ericsson so they can fix it themselves. after all, it goes with the warranty. i won't spend anything. i guess. i hope.

Bought this phone one week ago and since then it has hung 5 times during texting. I have to pull the battery to get it to unfreeze. Anyone having similar problems? Checked Software updater for newer veriosn but I have the latest.
