Had mine 2005 and its still my daily use phone. Never failed me and yes it makes calls to it has I need and its top pocket size keeps it within ear or vibrate as to not annoy other people. Amazing cant see any reason to change .

I owned the phone in 2006 its a very nice phone I loved almost everything bout it but my problem is it has never survived 4 more than 6 months 4rm the tym of purchase I got it fixed n it would get broken all the tyms I spent lots of money fixing it I gave up eventually cos not every1 who fixed phones knew how to fix it. It buy it again if it were 2 b upgrated with stuff like memory card slot n only if it could stop freezing so much

I have had my v600i from new and its never let me down,original batt lasts a week + and it does what it says on the tin and more.The radio is amazing with a good clarity and bass.I had it for my second phone but it is my main.I think it will be with me till the death and i wouldn't put it past it to beat me on that either. All in all probably the most reliable phone i have owned

I like my V600 very much. I have had it since 2006 and I still use it every day. It is my second phone and it seems to last forever. The battery still lasts for a whole week without charging. Does anyone know if it is possible to transfer the SMS's from my phone memory into the SIM card memory? Just in case my phone brakes down one day.

I am using this more than 4 years(2006.09.30). I'm still use it. Any one saw my phone never believe my 4 year story. Camera quality is fine at outdoor and i don't like to talk about indoor photo quality. As i was under graduate i use this phone to browse internet for find information to complete my project reports.I Use led flash light as touch, Play games, send free SMS through internet, as 3g modem(i made few website and manage all my blog with it),built in email, listen radio and every last drop of power it had. Most probably i will buy new phones but i never give away this phone. I keep it safe place so that i know my v600i is with me when a emergency.

This is my 2nd phone which i am soon changing for another Sony Ericsson :) I really like the cameras of these phones.. Even this old model makes some pretty good pics if you make the options right for the different situations. What made me a problem about it is that it crashed alot soo keep the firmware updated :D and the right vodafone button kinda took me alot money if we count all the accidental enters in the internet. Despite that it is pretty tough one...i lost the count of dropping it on cement and it only got few scratches. I can't beleive how fragile are some new models... i am not telling which ones though...even if they have like all possible options i am not bying it. What's the point if it's going to break the next day... Keep the good work sony

Ive had this mobile for 3 years now. I've bought LG star now xD So anyway i gave it to my lil bro, it was a good mobile... i dropped it so many times, and it survived. Dropped it in a huge pond like thing, and got it out and was still working... LOOOL i was amazed!

Normally the LCD on any phone is the most expensive thing to replace or fix. So if your phone is a few years old, then it might be cheaper just to buy a new cell phone. (You can always take it to a place that fixes phones & they should be able to tell you a price b4 they fix it) I have this phone & think its a pretty good phone, for being pretty old. I mean compared to all the new phones out, this phones is missing alot. Like memory, better camera ect... But this phone does the job. I have had it for over 2 years & it is still work like the 1st day I got it - so I can't complain. The lay & everything on this phone is really easy & I like using this phone. But I'm waiting for it to die, so that it will give me a good reason to buy a new phone :-) @ the dude from South Africa. They do not make or sell this phone anymore. If they just came out in S.A. this year, then it would be all end of the line products. When I got this phone around 2 years ago, it was end of the here - 2 years ago.

I got Sony Ericsson V600i and I'm getting problem while dialing up via blue tooth connection, it always gives me error that Modem already in use. Even with the USB cable, I'm unable to connect to the internet. However, wap browsing works absolutely fine over the handset. It means the GPRS settings are fine. Can anybody can help me in resolving this issue. Did anyone encounter the same issue with this phone? Thanks Fire Fox

to Obumneme: Reflash back the phone firmware will solve your pc connnection issue. to will: Have you try to upload a new camera driver. Seem like the driver is corrupted or might be cause by camera ribbon (most common problem with SE phone).

I have been using this phone for almost 2years now and there's no problem with the phone, except my phone-computer connections. It can no longer be recognised by my laptop, but i dont have much use for that either. The only down side to the phone is the available memory, too small and it doesn't have any card slot for increments!

Hi everybody out there. Need some info here please.. Is there a v600i out on the market? It has just been released here in South Africa as new. It probably has been around elsewhere for a long time, but most the phone companies do a second launch of a old product on our shores. We always get the left-overs of products that dont sell on the overseas markets. It sucks.

I have had my V600i now for about 2 years, in fact it has outlasted more recent phones that have been too unreliable (including a P990). Although the camera is not too hot and the buttons on the right and left are annoying, it is the most reliable phone I have ever owned. I have dropped it many times, but it keeps going. The radio is great and it's easy to navigate using the joystick. I bought it for �100 cash on Vodafone pay as you talk and think SE should have introduced a new version with a 2MP autofocus, removed the side buttons and doubled the screen resolution. I think it's the only SE phone with a perfect joystick. Perhaps I am lucky and got a V600i that was manufactured on a Wednesday? (When workers in factories that hand build things are in the best mood as it's not too soon after the weekend and not too close to the next weekend!) :-)

Iv'e had this phone for about 18 months. The biggest problem I have is if I try to dial one-handed I often hit 2 keys at once an it's very annoying. The other problem is it often doesn't ring when a call comes even though I have reception bars . I don't know if this is the phone problem or the carrier. Otherwise it's not a bad phone.

This phone is very good, i love da 1.3mp camera, fm stereo radio and mp3/mp4 player. But why have all these features when the memory is very insufficient for the features. Another letdown is the joystick as it plays up often. If this phone had a memory card it would be perfect. i give it a 8/10. CUM ON SONY WHERES THE MEMORY!!!!

1. camera is great! very clear for a phone 2. the memory is very limited. if u are the type which has alot of music on cell phone, or tae alot of pics and videos, then the memory may not be sufficient. 3.the themes that yu ca download from wap for free are great for giving the phone a new look. 4. video caling is a bit fuzzy, but hey, it works. 5. holds around 100 received messages,and 100 sent. its okay for me.!!!~ 6. buy this phone! its great!

ive had this fone for 3 months and i think it's great. the camera is great- you can enlarge it on the computer and my brother thought it was taken on a digital camera! it could have a bit more memory but you can take stuff off on the usb cord which is a good feature. also its really easy to move around and it looks good too...you should get this fone!

I have the V600 over 14 months. I got a Krusell leather protective case too. The phone serves me well, it works well all the time, and I have the latest firmware. I use the phone as phone, and the extras are just there if I need them. The memory size never become an issue to me, I have delete any unnecessary files , and I have always 19 megs free, if I need to take any pictures or video. The battery holds well, and the joystick performs well too. I always handle the device with a calm way, and respect. It�s not a football, it�s not a toy, !! it�s a tool !! , respect it and it will serve you well.

The v600 is a fantastic phone, great features and a great User Interface. Only prob is the lack of memory stick support, but its still got enough internal memory for mp3 ringtones. I wouldnt buy it now though as the k610 can be found for almost the same price. As for the comparison between this and the K600, exactly the same phone with a Vodafone cover.

Dont buy this phone, I have 2 of them, one 12 months old the other 10 months that is my partners. Mine keeps turning off, tells people calling my that i am not available and now wont ring out all the time. My partners comes up with Inactive Sim all the time now. You have to turn the phone off then back on. Mine was back to be fixed in the 2nd month and was ok for 2 weeks then trouble started again. Does anybody make a reliable phone these days?

have had this phone since July- only 3 and a half months and it has already crashed. It was excellent at first and then all of a sudden it keeps turning off and now it has stopped ringing when a call or msg comes though. This is the 2nd Sony Ericsson i have had in 12 months and both have died. I would never get a Sony again.

it`s a nice phone....however it has a few waeknesses....the pic rate of the 3G is too small...you can only see sepparate pics of the other guy, no MMC slot,only 33 MB mermory and the software is crappy - once you chnage it it never stops bugging which is very anoying

Well, I have one. had one for 4-5 months now. I agree with others, without a golve the phone is easily scratched and the camera lense always exposes itself. But I like the features, its handy for handsfree and the media player is a luxury. Good to have sounds whn you want them. Its not durable and alot of its paint comes off quite easily. Seems like its designed for dainty ladies rather than fast paced professionals. Recommend it, but still miss my K310.

This is a great phone! I don't think anyone here could find a 3G phone at the price its sold in my country. So it doesn't have a memory card, so what? It probably the end of the world for your kids, junked on MP3s. My use for it extends to even monitoring my office staff! And I am buying everyone in the office one each! If you operate with a lot of data, like me, just get a bluetooth unit for your pc and download your data. In my business, I have to take pictures. Lots of em. I use my laptop and a bluetooth adapter to transfer the files. Furthermore, I could even email the pic if I feel like it.

I am so happy with a phone! This phone is GREAT! The screen is really big, very clear and the colours are awesome. The menu is easy to operate and the sound is loud and clear. Very happy that it also came with a hands free kit and USB cable!

i hav ad the v600 for ages, the screen is really durable, i still hav no scratches, the vid editor is fab,pic quality depite being lower spec than most is really good,i will get another one as soon as this one goes, the only thing i can find fault with is the charger,its very tempromental,but does charge,once harged lasts ages,i should know,i play monopoly on it at wrk for the whole 12 hour shift! lol

im a die hard for on SE,having k700i,k750i,k600i and v600i,giving me satisfaction. V600i as the other SE phone,has good quality of sound.overall the function is up to date except no memory card.but,it's still hella good phone,having 3G,mp3tones,and mp3 msg alert.i wonder why someone said in the comment,v600 has no mp3 msg alert.it's quite obvious you can change it.and i can tranfer more than 1mb file using PC suite.wonder how they said they cant. 7.5/10 for this phone.

I recently bought this phone - its extremely good value for money, the camera is decent, and it is easy to use - and is well designed. There are NO PROBLEMS with the sound quality - it is VERY clear and loud (just need to setup the voulme to high - this is a one off thing). The only setback is no memory card, but then again, if you just need the memory to take videos and photos, and probably have an mp3 ringtone, plus 3g features , web browsing, this is the phone for you!!! Trust me, It's worth it.

ST, you obviously got a defective product. My phone works great,i have it for almost 9 months now and so far it never freezed,NOT ONCE! It falls down very often,with me or without me and nothing happened. So your4 problem is not sonyericsson than bad luck.

i hate this phone. it constantly freezes and you can't add mem. card. what is the point of having a media player if it can't even hold more than 2 mp3 songs? as well, you can't check how long each phone call was and it doesn't remind you that you have a missed call. i don't think i'll ever purchase another sony ericsson after this. i'm trying to get rid of it but no one wants it because it's so bad. the buttons are also so close together that it's hard to text, and the little camera flip thing isn't very efficient. if you put it in your bag, it will unknowingly flip ON, and waste the battery because the camera turns on and the lens gets all scratched up. the only thing good about this phone is decent reception and a long lasting battery. but the features are absolute garbage. don't waste of money like i did.

A good phone overall. I bought it 4 months ago and I'm quite happy with it. I'd rather I had a K750 though. Pluses: Plays mp3, m4a, aac and 3gp formats. Has FM radio w/ RDS. Ringtone volume is what it is. But the conversation volume can be increased. Call someone,turn it up with side keys. End conversation and go to media player and turn it up there too. THan insert your headphones and call someone and turn it up to max. Unplug them and than try calling someone. It fixed problem to me,hope it will to you too...

Great phone, great design, huge amount of features. I love. Most people complaining about the phone don't know what they are doing. The sound is plenty loud enough if you TURN UP the volume, that is what the buttons on the side are for.... also turn up the sound on the Equilizer, then choose an mp3. Now if you can't hear that you must need a hearing aid. The memory is also plenty big enough if you compress the mp3 size which is very easily done. Just download a free trial on a product called Blaze Media Pro (just type in google and download for free) you can compress the files to half their size without loosing ANY quality. The people complaining about the quality of the camera, hey it is a Telephone at least it has one, and much better quality than in many other phones for the price. If you are so concerned about the quality of the pictures buy a Camera. The games included are only demos but you can also download games for FREE so what is your problem!!!! Please remember that this is the lowest priced 3G phone there is (in Australia anyway). The software included to download files from pc to the phone is fantastic, couldn't be easier, much better than the LG software. So please don't judge this fantastic phones performance on uneducated peoples reviews of this phone. I very nearly didn't buy it because of them. They just don't know what they are doing.

I think the sony is not bad. there are probems,the capasity could be much bigger. once again the ringing vol is low.I find that when am out & about I can put the phone on the highest & I still get missed calls! which is quite annoying. On the good side the entertainment is good & the video DJ is good for people like myself who work in the Media Industry,I can easily make samples of my work & Bluetooth them to my co-workers! The cam is pretty decent good quitlity when up-loaded to the computer. Comes with a usb cable but that is only one size which can be annoying when your used to the uinversual size. I do like to Bluetooth connection as I need to work in a fast envorinment. The phone was quite easy to master after the first couple of days. I dont like it when the camera shutter opens when its in your pocket...I think that needs to be re-dsigned there. Also the handfree headphones also can easily be knocked out,which can be quite annoying when ur listening to the radio cause the fone will stop the connection & then you will lose your radio signal. I also found that when your out in a night time envorment the camera & video footage are not as good as it could be,also with the night time mode & Flash on it fails to produce see-able images. I do wish it had a bit more flexablity with media formats like WMA's as I would be able to have more music on the handset,seeing that I havent found a way to compress the MP3's yet it does take up a lot of my memo which can lead to my fone to Crash in most incovenate times. Some how it wont allow me to download themes or send my via Bluetooth,which is once again a pain. Also I find that sony has a lot of pre files that cannot be delated. that would free up some of the space on the fone. there is no carry slot so I can have the option to tie it around my neck when I have no hands free. Its a little so slippery that I have dropped it a couple of times,which is not a good sign. Its a little dissapointing but I havent traded it in just yet..there is hope for this model yet.

Hi Guys, just got this SE V600i about month an half ago for being long time vodafone customer. Problem is the phone was great working great easy to use, good sound, battery fair, but just last week after charging it up i lost all my tone sounds music etc, i cant hear any of the tones clicks etc etc, i can call and hear someone when im talkin with them but unless im holding the phone or looking at it dont know its rung, took it into a vodafone shop in brisbane and it started to work, embarrissing, anyhow 2 days ago it happened again, not tones nothing, has anyhow else had this problem with the phone.

Yes you can watch tv on this phone but of course you do have there are three tv packages the news pack which is five pounds the entertainment pack which is also 5 pound and the mix pack whic is 3 pounds, but the mobile tv service is avalable for all 3g vodfone mobiles and the tv is not live its just repated programmes

I bought this phone about half a year ago... and it's perfectly fine... not a single problem; so i don't know what all of the other reveiws are on about. the phones great for the money you pay for it- how many 3G mobiles can you find for less than �100? no many - trust me... it's a great phone and i'd recomend it to anyone who doesn't have �300 or doesn't want to.

good camera, but INCREDIBLY fiddly buttons - forget texting as you walk along! Plus smoe annoyng menu choices - can't 'add' number to an existing contact. Very strong - dropped mine from a first-floor balcony direct onto concrete - battery flew out - but still working fine!

just got mine from vodafone as a free loyalty upgrade after over 3 years with a nokia 3650. was a little concerned about it being quiet after reading a lot of posts, but rather was surprised how loud it was with just the standard tones not even at full volume. nice size. will be interested to see how the joystick holds up over time. no real issues yet, except for the fact that i would really have liked a memory slot. the software and usb out leave any worthless software drivel nokia manages to produce for dead as far as syncing with my computer goes, but ericsson have historically produced good software packages

Just got this one yesterday as a free upgrade from Vodaphone. They will be getting it back tomorrow. The worst phone I've ever had. All keys are way too small and fiddly, it's not intuitive with all its features. If this is all singing and dancing 3G, I'll stick with my Motorola 550.

I've had this phone for a few months now. It was a loyalty phone, free from Vodafone. So glad it was free, coz I want to throw it against a wall! If you actually want a phone so that people can contact you while you're mobile, DON'T GET THIS PHONE! No matter what you do, you will not be able to hear it when it rings unless you happen to be holding it within 30cm of your ear in a silent room. I'm looking for a new phone. hi, got SE v600i for my birthday on contract from Vodaphone, lasted a couple of day's then overheated ! Went from a full charge to empty in hour's and phone was realy hot. Got phone changed for another v600i which developed a software problem with the volume. Received my 3rd v600i which lasted about 6 hours then overheated like my 1st phone! I am now waiting delivery of SE v800i phone that i hope will be better than what i have experienced with their v600i. Not bad going for 1 month, thanks Sony Ericsson !!

Not sure if it's just my phone, but the battery needs recharging every second day. It is almost flat one and a half days after being fully charged. My old motorola lasted 4 to 5 days with the same aount of call time. What's going on?

Phone is excellent, looks great, battery life is not bad (but not the best), has so many cool features such as 3d gaming, FM radio, media player etc. Camera is good, but at night, even with the light, not very clear (but who cares for �100). Only issue is that of the memory. Why only put 32mb in and not let you expand it? The phone would be perfection if only they put more memory in it. However, for �100, its a bargain, and the only difference between this and the k600i is that it looks much better, its cheaper and its only available on vodafone.

Just ordered one of these things after a slight issue with losing an older phone - total cost from Vodafone UK? �15 and delivered tomorrow. That'll do. However, I have just read this thread and feel I have to make a few comments. 1. How is poor 3G coverage a fault of the v600i? Answer - it isn't. I've had a 3G phone since Vodafone first offered them and coverage has got progressively MUCH better country wide. At first, I could use 3G in various city centres and that was it; now I get 3G coverage pretty much everyway I go where I'm likely to need/use it. Granted an actual 3G connection is somewhat dependant upon the handset but the coverage is more important. No coverage = no 3G bars. 2. The argument of "this is a modern device and therefore I want my phone, camera, toaster and sink in the same case" is laughable. I'm a semi-pro photographer and the day a cheap gizmo replaces my camera gear is the day when the devil will use ice skates to get to his office. Not in my lifetime will a phone EVER replace the equipment I use. The fact of the matter is, no matter who makes them, cameras in camera-phones are DIRE and more megapixels will make it worse! I have lenses worth more than the phone, the contract price and the cost of the phone calls and data all put together for the last 3 or 4 years and you want me to believe I can use a phone to replace gear like that?! LOL!!! I presume NASA have already sent these S-Es, Sharps and what-nots with their "awesome" photos up in a Space Shuttle to replace Hubble then...... 3. How many of those complaining actually, er, *own* a v600i and are no just folk that are fans of a particular make of phone wanting to "bad mouth" any competition irrespective of the fact they've probably never seen one let alone use one. In my experience of various message boards for various topics, those who moan loudest have absolutely no experience of the thing they're moaning about. 4. Why the devil does the look of the phone matter. Person A hates it, Person B likes it, Person C uses it as, stone the crows, a phone. It's personal taste! Some like BMWs, some like Mercs - it doesn't mean it's a poor phone just because you don't like it. A previous phone was a 6630, now, it's not the most stylish phone but I quite like it and I used it. I quite like the overall look of the v600i and I'll use it how S-E intended. Probably. If you're more bothered about showing off with it down the pub (or wherever it is that you want to show it off just before some youth decides he wants it as his phone - after all, you've just been doing the job of S-E/Nokia/Motorola marketing) maybe looking at one of these platinum and diamond rip-offs is for you...

got this fone a week ago and think its good for the price of �100. volume is great (exept of downloaded vids which is ok)the memory is good for 4 full mp3's and lots of vids and games battery is also good for a 3G fone. The only downside of the fone is the camera quality which is ok but not as good as other fones, but the video is of good quality when its on the right setting.

DONT buy this phone! is built from really cheap materials and feels horrible, as soon as i opened the box my heart sank. after a few months all the cheap silver finish will start to ware away. The menu system is fast but texting is really really slow as the buttons are slow to respond. A good phone for PAYT but not for contract users.

Here's what I did: 1) move pictures to new/renamed folder 2) transfer pics with IR, not USB. 3) delete all pics in new folder 4) Turn phone off, then on again. 5) delete new folder 6) always copy individual files, not whole folder from SE file manager to PC. that might have caused the corrupt file. good luck, hope this helps!

Just bought this phone today for a mere �100. First impressions are very good for this phone as it greets you with a beautiful black coating and metallic silver trim. It feels silky to hold and sits right in your hand as you push the easy to use joystick and watch the bright screen light up. But i didnt buy this phone for its looks, for my �100 i got a smashing little 3G phone with 1.3 mp camera capable of recording video with zoom and a range of effects. The V600i is very organised and simple to use and vodafone live! allows you to watch live sky television completely free til february. Although this was the main attraction it also has other features such as: vodafone messenger, mp3 player, bluetooth, gprs, fm radio...etc making this a fantastic phone for its size and price. The only points i have come across is: the camera on the back is ugly and quite poor quality at night, i can't find where the bloody usb cable plugs in, i need a knife to get my sim card out and it has low battery life when using its full range of features. Although people have mentioned problems with rington level i haven't (try the volume buttons on the side geniuses) and i strongly recommend this phone to anybody 'in' with modern technology.

This is a fantastic phone i bought mine about 6 weeks ago and ive dropped it a few times sine then and it is still fine. As for the ringtones - the volume is perfect if your ringtone is in mp3 format, if anything in this format its too loud. The only way that the volume could be too low is if the format is midi even then it can be its fine - read the manual people!!! Also a number of mp3 format tones are installed on the phone when purchased so there is no excuse for not having an mp3 ringtone. the camera quality is excellent and the display is extremely clear. the only downfall for this phone is the fact that the memory cannot be expanded (32 MB) but this is a minor point for the casuall user. great phone - 9/10

Okay. Just bought this phone from Vodafone. Got free Sky Tv till 31st Jan. So all's cool! paid effectively only 100 pounds for it as 30 pounds is a top up which i just sold to my friend. Anyway, review of phone. First of all, the ring tone is NOT soft. Maybe it's new software or i really got a better batch of phone. It's even considered loud enough for the next dorm room to hear my live Sky Sports Stream when i have the phone speaker side pressed on the table. This is on maximum volume of course. Having the phone up normally in my pocket and its too loud. As one guy said, it's embarassingly loud. Louder than my previous Nokia 6610 and samsung c100. Call quality is good. People calling in has been loud and clear. Too loud in fact. You can set it to 3g and gsm or gsm only. Left it at 3g and gsm for now. No real problems with the reception, loudness or battery life. Battery life hasn't really been tested but as my phone came fully charged by the nice vodafone people, its been very good so far. Been streaming videos like mad (over half hour already) and only 1 bar dropped so far. Camera quality is so-so. Even though i havent owned a camera phone before but i have seen other phones to better effect - D600, D500, SE K750. Anyway, no real problems as this is after all a 100 pound phone. Have to say that the keys are VERY nice to press. Don't like the SMS system though as it requires you to use the joystick more than usual. The joystick moves fine and has no real problem getting to the menu which u want. Pressing the joystick down to select sometimes doesnt hit though. Possibly due to my inexpereince in SE phones.Also it's quite laggy. Which brings me to my next part. The system is LAAAAAGGGGGGYYYYY. When u switch from menu to menu it's laggy. It takes on average of 2 seconds to go from menu to menu. This is bad i have to say. I say this is my biggest gripe as it is quite significant. Could possibly be Vodafone's system but i'm not sure. Anyway, reviewing the phone based on what i have. Physically, the phone is very sleek. It's as long as my C100 when put next to each other but slightly thicker. The silver part by the sides enhance the classiness of the black of the phone in the main part of the body. All in all. For 100 pounds, u get a 3g phone, which is sleek, battery life is good (so far), keypad which is nice to press, and loud speakers which can be semi-blasted to the next few tables in a restaurant when u're streaming the latest football clip. Only real gripe is the lagginess. Can't say i will complain abt the camera and the lack of memory though as that doesnt really bother me.

Oh i forgot to say, theres a guy on ebay selling a little device that you slot into the back of your v600 and it increases your reception. From what i can gather, it can help with those who find it difficult to get a 3G recption. I dont know if the device actually works though but its worth finding out as its only 99p (1.5 euro) Just go to ebay and do a search for "Sony Ericsson v600" and it should be in there somewhere. I must admit, when i first got my v600 (today) and heard the lack of volume on the ringtones, i was really cheesed off as i have this little baby for another 12 months, but you can increase the volume by downloading a programme called "MP3Gain" (do a google search)when you use it on a track, max the "Target number volume" to 105 and the volume of your mp3 track will be increased. Next download the track again onto your phone and hey presto your ringtones give out a heavier punch. Now thats sorted the only thing im a little disappointed in is the memory, but as a few people have said you just download your pictures onto your computer to keep the memory as free as possible, just copy and paste into your picture docs, easy as pye :)

Can anyone get the V600 to work with isync? the bluetooth works with everything else like file trans and remote control, but it failed with isync. Downside again, volume. but I think SE firmware can fix it, just like my k700 before.

Im thinkin of gettin this phone for christmas, apart from the low memory (which isnt really an issue if you can transfer your photos to your pc anyway) and the loudspeaker, are there any other faults? And if ot is so great, why has it got a low enough rating?

I got this phone like 2 days, as part of the vodafone delight deal where they give loyal customers discounts on 3g phones..so only payed like $85au or about 30pounds? Its a very good phone. gr8 sound quality. gr8..well good picture quality, fast internet(vodafone) I even downloaded music clips plays it nice and smooth and stuff.. it doesnt have a flash, I dont think, it just has a bright light.. overall 8.5/10 Great phone great features/accesories. BUT MEMORY is like 32 mbs or something.. So this is very dissapointing.. better to get a k750i or W800i NEEDS MORE MEMORY!!!!

Everything good. Bluetooth works great with FrontRow on the macs. Only downfall is the speaker volume on max output. can barely hear ringtones outdoors. During calls if switched to 'speaker' it's not as loud as eg. nokia 3120.

Got mine yesterday. Some nice features but a little bigger than I'd thought. This is my first 3G phone and I'm liking it very much. Battery seems good, the screen is large and bright, navigation is average, and the camera is excellent. Could have done with more than 32MB memory. One question ... why don't SE and Vodafone produce their sofware for Mac OS X too?!

very good indeed, the camera is great it has a better camera and a better colour screen. battery life is better than most new phones and its like a nokia to text. my advise is to stay away from the motorola v3 at all cost because its so hard to text with it.

I seemed to have a low volume problem when I first got mine - it almost went straight back. For some reason though when your previewing the ringtones even with the volume at 8 (max) you can increase it using the volume buttons on the rhs. If mine was any louder now i'm sure the speaker would get damaged. Rob

Hello people , I decided to spend some more digital ink about my phone, the V600i ,so to in light you , about some hidden details, who had become , reason for criticism. First of all, about the sound level in all the sound formats other than MIDI , responsible for that is the internal media player , and the cure is to enable and adjust the internal equalizer , simple as that , the sound level gets a lot of boost under your taste, Treble - Bass- Middle and even Mega Bass !! .(User Guide Page 104). At the end the sound level it will become acceptable even for previous Nokia owners , like me. A nice MP3 with rich medium and high frequencies it will do the job nicely. About the MIDI ring tones , the internal hardware MIDI processor, it does a good job in sound quality , but it does operates at less sound level than the media player . So , MIDI ring tones that wakes up all the people at 10 meters away , is out of the question, Nokia wins at that match . Another tip about the 1.3MP digital camera . I am a hobbyist photographer for four years now, my tests show that : 1)The camera has a fixed focus from 1.5 meters to 6 meters , everything in that range is totally clear and sharp . 2)The CCD gives almost rich Colors , actually very bright and clear . 3)The camera works at it best only for outdoor use with bright sun light, at medium and low light , the pictures shows signs of digital noise . 4)The close up's is not a good idea, as the focus in the lens, is set from 1.5 meters and further . 5)In comparison with other images from other mobile phones that I have see, the overall quality is almost top in Colors and focus , especially in focus and clearness , as it does cover a depth of field like 50 to 70 meters , actually that's not bad at all , its a pleasant surprise. 6)The on board flash is very weak , but if you adjust the camera to operate at night mode , the results is almost acceptable for 1.5 meters range at max. About the Radio , well I got amazed simple as that , the hands free set , gives a top sound quality , and also the external speaker on the phone performs amazing well.(Better than in Ring tones ) . The channels separation is Stereo mode is over 75db in other words its top ,and you will find that performance, only in Hi-End radio receivers. The RDS also works bountifully, and it's totally compatible with all the RDS generators ( I am an electronics' engineer) , so there are no problems with missed text , bad fonts ,or garb aged characters. Lastly I got totally amazed about the speed of it, in uploads and downloads, for instance a friend of my send to me a MMS , He needed almost a minute and 20 seconds to send a 54kilobytes image to me , and the V600i needed only 8 seconds to receive it . Simply amazing . The blue tooth headset HBH-602 works fantastic well with the phone , under my test at 6 meters range you have the best results , it works even at 12 meters , but the blue tooth connection becomes unstable. And finally the browsing speed in the menus is very high , and the menus is well designed , plus the joy stick on it, its accurate in movement, and pleasant to operate it , its does not feels like a cheap plastic ,that is ready to break apart or something. The phone has a luxurious look , its fast , it does everything perfectly , no software glitches, amazing signal reception at GSM band, no signs of weak parts , it has only less powerful speaker volume than most Nokia s . In my age, of 36 years old, its difficult to get surprised by a gadget like a mobile phone , but believe me, I did got pleasantly surprised, by this little devil .

And i believe that V600 or K600 shares the same hardware , so you are just a 0.0000001% of users with this problem. My advice to you, is to buy a mobile phone with external speaker and 100W RMS amplifier.

The phone finally arrived to GREECE, I was waiting one month and a half, for it. The telephone it�s an outstanding device. Everything works perfectly, and if you are an expert in computers you will enjoy it at the max. By adjusting the pictures and the MP3s at the proper quality and file-size, for use in a mobile phone, the on board memory becomes more than enough for everything. 3G behavior is top. I bought this phone about a month ago, and so far I am very happy with it. For many years I have used Nokias, and I wasn't very attracted by the design of the V600 when I first saw it, but once I had it in my hands and began to use it, I began to enjoy its quality. The battery also surprised me positively. It lasts 2-3 days with normal and short video-calls. About the sound. My problem is the opposite of Paulo. Many times during calls I find myself using the side buttons to reduce the calls sound. :P

i think i will change my samsung z500 for this phone rob. the samsung keeps clinging to the 3g vodafone signal when it is really bad . keeps jumping from 3g to 2g why can it not stick to the stronger signal. also the alarm is sad it will not go off when the phone is switched off . will vodafone change it for me ok i only got it last friday.

I'm more than satisfied with the se - I was so disappointed with the samsung mainly because of silly things like the amount of presses it took to send a text, and no proper battery level indicator. I could probally have lived with the poor battery life. The main reason I got it swapped was the time jumping about problem which quite afew people have had, even vodaphone cs had heard of this fault. The v600's main problem is its lack of expandable memory, but i'm coming from a Moto v500 which only had 5meg so I guess i'll get used to it. Size wise because its only 19 mm deep it tends to fit in my pocket easier, the battery life seems better - i've been driving around in and out of 2g 3g coverage all day - i've made about 20 minutes of calls and about 10 mins on Voda live and got 68% left so I'd think about 2-3 days use between charges. The v600 shows its battery status in a 5 bar gauge and percent left which is nice. I've never owned a se before so i'm quite impressed with the themes - its so much more customisable than the Samsung.

Swapped a Samsung Z500 for this - ta Vodafone, like most people I was disappointed by the z500. Anyway this phone - its not much bigger than a k750, its battery life isn't too bad. It seems more eager to switch to 2g when the 3g signal gets low, which is the opposite to the Samsung which would pretty much stay on 3g until there was no signal at all. Pro's: Good sound quality, not too big, good looking, uses the same themes as k750 (hundreds on the web waiting to be downloaded!), Will ring and vibrate at the same time, Network mode can be set to use only 2g, Has an RDS radio. Cons: Talk time in 3g is far less than 2g, no expandable memory (so not much use if your looking for an mp3 player). Volume seems to keep resetting to 50% when profiles are changed?? Charger connector seems a bit crap. 3g coverage isn't brilliant. (having said that though i've always found Voda's 2g coverage near me is the worst of the 4 networks!) Overall having used both i'd choose this over the Samsung. However if you don't get a 3g signal at home it would be a better to choose a normal 2g phone. Note the vodafone online map is rather optimistic, their shops have a rather better version. Rob

I have had this phone about 3 day's. I think I'm gonna change it for the Samsung Z500 - WHY? Because the Samsung blows the sony away on looks and style, plus it's aimed at the higher end of the market where as the Sony is aimed at the middle business end. I also cannot get the bluetooth remote to work for love or money and if you have the screen saver and auto key lock on, when it syncs with your PC the phone locks up solid. In my veiw if something as basic as that doesn't work then it goes out the window. It's a phone not bloody windows XP. I'm a bit too old for musicDJ and videoDJ perhaps. The samsung also is a LOT more solid feeling then this one. Just one more thing. STOP commenting on the camera's on phones. IT'S A PHONE!!! you want a good camera go out and buy one. Why do you think a device smaller then most compact digital cameras that's also a phone should be as good as a compact camera?? Sorry but it REALLY annoys me when people go on about it. I have a canon digital ixus for photos and it's better then any phone will be for another 5 years at least.

About V600i, It does have a classic design , and this as a must-have for a business phone. Bells and whistles and colors , belong to another category of phones . At the beginning, I did disliked also the idea of not having extra card storage , BUT in a second thought the phone is, a business class , so you will be always near to your main computer , so all that you need from the phone is temporarily storage , so the on board memory is enough . The strong point of the phone is the back plate (with the camera ), its FLAT , and almost eliminates the possibility of an accident ( Aka Drop and damage (K750i) ) . The FM radio is all that you need for entertainment , and about 5-8 MP3 its good to have with you , if you are away from FM signal points. I do like the phone , and I respect and understand the concept, that SE had in mind when they design it . Some people act, as to was a disaster, that the phone does not have external card , to all of them I will say � If your need is, to get a phone and then ,lost your self�s in the desert for two weeks , do not get this phone !! This phone looks to be a comfortable companion to any men , and mostly for the businessmen . I need a decent phone , not a Nintendo , or an iPod , or even a high tech digital camera , actually I have one and , it does takes pictures, that they look, as they should be, at 100% quality , long live the Olympus C2100 . I will get this phone anyhow , as soon it comes to Europe . And I do not mind about the Vodaphone logo either , even if I belong to another network, and I will remain there .

I like the V600i and have one now. But where is the "calling card" function? In the T630, it is in the "time and cost" menu, but now there is no such item "Using Calling Cards" in the "time and cost" menu in V600i ! Is it wrong, or it has been deleted in V600i ?

as i read before bit of an ugly duckling however i sell phones for a living and if yiou look at the quality of the features it superseeds the uglyness, the only drawback is the expandable memory which it obviously lacks, i have a k750i which is fantastic but this phone is geared specifically towards 3g capabilities and offers great value for money and is an excellent start for someone getting to grips with video calling for the first time, on the whole speaking from my vast experience in the mobile phone industry it is an excellent start for great things that are sure to follow from sony ericsson.

I have been using one of these for a few days now and I must say that despite my first impressions being Ugly Duckling... I can honestly say I have grown to really like this handset. Could this finally be my 3G Swan? Camera quality is a big improvement on T series handsets. Battery is very good (though not as good as claimed) and the features for contact management and synchronising with a desktop are great. I think the screen is much better than the V800 but it is a little smaller. All in all a very nice phone...

Yes nokia may have 100's of models as you say. But it seems of late that nokia are producing Quantity not Quality. SE are doing things pretty well. Few models a year, but this is made up for by the quality of the models and the features.

Nice try but still the K600i equals in every detail the V600. Why the ****??? Look at Nokia, they have over a 100 different phone models (available, coming soon or just old), but they have them. Sony Ericsson on the contrary, they have one model with quite a few differences in design due to T-Mobile, Vodafone, ... but it's the same ******* phone with a different name.
