I had this phone and loved it. A friend gave it to me when he upgraded. I had the phone for a few years until it finally gave up. I was very sad because I'd taken some pictures and they died with the phone. There was a brilliant space invaders type game on there too "Alien Scum". It also looked a bit like a Star Trek communicator!!!!! If anyone knows where I can get another one........

I have never had this phone but I do want one. Truth is that I currently use an Apple iPhone 3gs so I really shouldn't want a phone like this one but I think that the phone is very nice looking though. since you can change the faceplates on it I would like to have one with metalic red faceplates on it. That would be the perfect looking phone for me since I am a fan of 2003-2006 flip phones...they had style back then.

Great reliable phone i have had this phone since it was 1st released back in 2003, only now my battery has died so im hoping to replace it, found a store who do same batteries so hopefully i'll get another 7+ yrs out of it, this phonme was way ahead of its time, where's the upgrade fron Sony, very dissapointing. i had this phone when i was in the fourth grade. this was my very first hone and THE reason why i use only SE phones, no other brands included. i have used this phone for 3 years, 04-07, and it died because it went in the pool with me when my cousin pushed me. i cried when i lost this phone and cried even more when i had it replaced with the motorola v3 that was as crappy as ever. i miss this phone.

I have this phone from introduction (End of 2003) until now and use it on daily basis. I still have the first battery (but need to replace it badly thats why I went online to search and found this side). I am very satisfied with the phone . Battery life is not as good as you would like it nowadays but back in 2003 is was more than decent, especially given that Ericsson Phones before the Z600 (lets say the T68) where very crappy on battery life. I like most that it is a PHONE ! Cheap monthly plans and works worldwide (I travel a lot internationally) The voice dialing seems to have been ahead of the time as it is very reliable.Puts a smile on my face if I see HTC touting the voice dial on their actual phones. Calendar/contacts syncing with Mac or PC is no problem. Overall a very good investment and my 6+ years of usage a excellent proof of the quality for this early Sony-Ericsson phone.

my mum has had one of these for over 7 years and for 5 of these i've asked her to update..... Fkn thing is STILL GOING on the same battery and all !!!! and she loves it. Mum is a tough customer and her "thumbs up" is testament enough 10 out of 10 !

The best phone ive had. Reliable, well built and easy to use. All my other phones from Samsung, Sony Ericsson & Nokia just dont quite stand up to this phone. they may have more functions but they dont work as well, as simply or are as reliable. I wish they brought out an upgraded one with todays functions but with the ease of use of the Z600

A year later and now I must say goodbye to my dear companion. Almost five years of everyday use! Now the display has gone black and no way to repair it (that damn "spring-wire!"). But i'm still using it, I don't care. There's just no other new models i'd like, and they'd probably break down way faster too. Or not? The Z600 for it's time was an excellent phone. Massive keys, easy to read internal screen, with nice presentation. Really well organised, and easy to use, probably for it's time, the best phone i've had.

Had it for past 3-4 years now - still get a week out of the battery. Dificult to find a clear replacement phone; newer ones will obviously have better cameras & music. Very few flip phones with a really good camera, which would be the easiest justification for replacing it, which arnt bigger.

Sounds for z600 Hi 4 people here who wants to put mp3 kind of sounds in z600.. download amr converter.. convert any mp3 to amr.. then bluetooth it to your z600// the converter will reduce the size of the mp3 file.. so its efficient then buy a headset yay.. you have now sounds for your z600.. ;) i stored almost 5 songs in my z600 although the quality is kinda low.. its still cool

they say that the camera of this phone sucks... but for me its very nice because i'm photogenic in the camera... hahaha.. and the sound is nice too... class style and sossy... but i wish that it has internet like other cellphones and the games... using cellphone is not a pleasure without games that are downloadable..i'm not contented with the installed games... I own ALOT of SE Phones, out of all sony ericson phones, this one has the best set of speakers and polyphony module! Eventhough it uses Midi format and no MP3, the sound quality and representation of every instrument is clear, sharp, realistic and original. Theres even Bass! Newer SE's such as my newest K810i and prev models such as K700i, the ringtone module sucks, the sounds are duller. Camera on this thing, sucks. Its slow, its CIF, and no point for photography-style. The camera is mostly for contact pictures, smaller screen size images for backgrounds etc, but NOT for computer, printing etc. Its really robust and solid, i think its one of the best solid phones! eventhough it looks huge, its pretty handy but it suits males rather than females coz it looks more rugged and has well spaced keypad for bigger fingers. I especially love the robustness of the flip coz it makes this solid 'click' sound when open so it doesnt feel or sound floppy like most Samsung phones, even after 4 years. I also love the exchangable faceplates to change ur mood (the most retro and one that fit me most was the cyber-green). Not to mention, the LCD is so clear, and it was the best LCD on a phone. Its pretty much equivalent to current high-end SE and Nokia phones. Drawbacks are: Battery life: its decent for mild calls, frequent SMS, but not for camera options and games. Camera: What do u expect with a low CIF and Low memory. Its slow, quality is decent for phone-only view. Size: It may look smaller than expected on hand but its quite thick and really long when unflipped, otherwise, great for men. By time, if u like customizing the phone with faceplates 24/7 for 2 years and over, the faceflate wont stay in place no more (lol), it gets loose, but this aint a problem.

I have that phone for 2 years now and i am impressed that though I dropped it at least 40 times or so and it still works fine, more important even that battery though getting a bit weak by now is enough for 3 days. Only glitch, the software seems to hang randomly and the only way out is to remove the battery and restart the mobile and the camera is very weak. If you want a phone just for SMS and calls it can be recommended

Although this is an old model, I bought one last week, especially because it`s low SAR value. My own health is what`s most important. The lower the SAR value, the better. Pros: - The reception of this phone is very good - The sound quality, when calling is very good, better than my Siemens 2006 phone. People down`t hear I`m calling them with a cellphone, when using the Z600. With my Siemens they do hear it. - LOW SAR VALUE - Good Screen - Fast operation - It`s a good phone for "calling", which is most important to me, together with the SAR value. -------------------------------------------- Cons: None for me !! - People who need to listen to music: "Buy an MP3 player". I have a very good 30GB player. - People who need to make photos: "Buy a digital camera". -------------------------------------------- Bottom line: "Cellphones used to be for calling and sending messages". That`s where I need it for.

I've had this phone for just over 3 years now and I still like it. It's lived in my pockets for all this time, I've dropped it a dozen times, and I've taken it with me all over the world. When this model was released around Sept. 2003 there was really only one con vs a lot of pros: dodgy software - the phone rebooted randomly. Fortunately a firmware update solved that problem early in 2004. The camera is bad compared to today's phones, but at the time of its release it was mid-range. Even after 3 years of intense use the battery still lasts 3-4 days (up to about 100 hrs), the screen still looks okay compared to today's phones and - most importantly - the software is fast enough. Definitely not the case with all of today's phones. Almost all the people I know who bought this model in 2003-2004 still use it and are very happy with this phone :)

No reception in my bag in the middle of the city (never problems with my previous phone, Ericsson T20e) *ring tones not very loud, you hardly hear it if your not close to the phone *illogical menu-structure *very limited SMS-sound functions PROS: low SAR-rate If you always wear your phone against your body (which I advise to no one), it is probably a good phone. If you don't, DO NOT BUY IT!

i've been using my z600 for about 2 years and i never had any problems with it. the TFD screen is what i like the most. it's so bright and crisp. the bluetooth and ir work very well too. i know the camera quality is poor but i love my z600 so much.

I have had mine since they first came out and have loved it. It is rugged and doesn't drop many calls. (the hinge is loose, but still works fine) I am disappointed that it doesn't offer speaker phone though. But I am in the market for a new sony Eric and am looking at the V-800. Any comments about the 800?

Hello. the main reason this cellphone resets itself is floating memory bad-handler. this means that everytime the phone deals with too much at the same time the autoreset will be activated without your permission, sort of like a stereo amplifier shuttin down when the volume is too high to protect itself for major damage. this is a flaw/bug in the software since this phone was a bad seller back in the asian lands... beware and dont buy it unless u can upgrade and service the software by yourself or have a minimum knowledge of ROM dumping and flashing. Hope i helped and opened your eyes...

I have this phone for about 1 year and 6 months, it works nice; the battery life is huge 5-7 days, i can't figure how but that's the fact; sometimes freezes and turned off by itself last winter for several times; the camera is indeed poor; it has bluetooth and infrared and that's a good fact, the connection by datacable is extremely slow (70kb in more than 2 minutes); there are a lot of games for it, even a game console which i find it not necessary for this phone. now it vanished from de market. when my dad bought this phone it was about 300$ in Oman and here in Romania was 500$, a very big price for this phone. i've dropped it a lot of times, only the covers were scratched. it's very easy to use, very loud speaker, too bad it hasn't got built-in handsfree. it's normal to hear a click when you open and close it because that's it's string, it holds the phone closed or opened(i hope you understand what i meant). it's sarvalue is extremely low 0.16 which is a good thing. i think this phone is a worth of money. after 1.5 years it works smooth. it's nice

When I bought this model Z600, I was crazy with it! I loved the look, pretty cute-flip one. I have this for 1yr. & 5months. Lately, I encountered a couple of problems like the volume is real low (very frustrating that you have to pressed it hard on to your ear). In the beginning, I noticed right away that it has less memory,too bad. It's very inconvenient to delete my SMS's. I loved storing my messages but I can't because of a low memory. One last thing is the camera-it has a very limited room. So far I still love it. Can't afford to upgrade into a newer and nicer version of Sony Ericsson. Happy Holidays!

Let me tell you, this thing can survive a war! i've dropped it sooom nay times i can't even remember anymore, it fell in water, off bycicle riding, and it is still running smooth! can you believe that? i also love it's features, the IR port... the Bluetooth connectivity, very handy.

I've had this phone for a good 2 years now, and it still works very well, with good battery life. To everyone complaining about lack of memory, no mp3s, the low quality cam: at the time of its release (Oct 2003) it had ample memory + one of the better cameras available, and mp3 phones were non existant. Early in it's lifecycle, it was very succesful in the business segment. It's been EOL for quite some time now, and I'm hoping SE will release a comparable phone in the future, a clamshell that is slightly more high end than the Z520...

Aside from it's bulkiness it's not a bad phone. It has annoying issues like crashing and the speaker connection seems faulty. The hinge came loose after a week, this annoys me as it's not a difficult task to manufacture.

I just bought a used one - and my first impression is great - BUT: the speaker has a lose contact. Often the ring is not heard, thus. If I press down the cover over the speaker, the sound plays, but after a while the speaker disconnects, again. Might be due to transport shock - I wonder if this problem has been ocurred more frequent and how easy it is to fix?

I have had this phone since it cam out, for 1 year and 6 months, and i must say it is pretty reliable. The only bad things about it is that the memory is very small, so you have to delete old pics and sms'es to make room for new ones. Also, the voice recording doesnt work because it gets stuck when you playback, and the phone freezes when you are deleting pictures. I dropped my phone in the toilet once, and after 7 days it was working fine again. A great phone, only very heavy and makes a loud click sound when you open it and close it.

Well, I have one of z600 by 1 year and 4 mounths. The good things are the OS is very easy to use, have a lot of features. About design and lights I like very much. Shock support is amazing, since it fall off directly to the ground some times, and nothing happen, just surface damage. I didn�t expect that the sound would be so nice, even with only 32 channels. The battery life is quite good. The bad things was the problems that I had to visit vodafone two times, they change the fone once. After that no more problems, even with some falls off. The camera, I think that you can forget to use, so bad quality and too small resolution, at least is better than the camera from Siemens MC60. Bluetooth is present, but I can�t do anything more that transfer files, and use other bluetooth devices with it, since that other fones we can do some very fun things. About the memory is also not good thing, too small. To finish: the delay with each button press is some times is irritating. About sms the t9 dictionary have a lot of bullshit words. Conclusion: I like very much the fone, since the time that I bought I wasn�t care about the camera, the price was very reasonable, and it do quite good the most importante thing that is make and receive calls. I've had the z600 since it first came out, and i loved it, but as better phones have come out, and mine has grown older, it seems to have lost the appeal it once had. It looks great and i love the outside covers and themes you can apply. The camera is bad, and mine freezes alot and i seem to be always deleting pictures and txt messages to make room for new ones. The sound i think isn't very good for recording and the polyphonic ringtones sound too old now. I think if your not looking for a big memory and good camera, just a nice colour picture phone with a few nice games and colourful covers, then this is the phone for you.

I've had this phone for around about a year now and I have to say, it is totally reliable! Well, mine has been anyway! There are a few things that I would add to it...For example it would be great if it had speaker phone and if you were able to use different alert tones. These are the main issues that I have with this phone. For me the memory is fine and although the camera is not great, I don't use it just for the camera, so that doesn't really worry me. The sound is great, loud and clear. It is a little chunkier than most flip models. The covers are great, easy to use and varied (though they can be a little pricey.) All in all, it's reliable, easy to use and customize to suit you, good features (and I love the simplicity and usability of the keypad design!!)

This is truely, an amazing phone. I have had this phone for 1.5 years, and no problems. The camera sucks, but the infrared, bluetooth, large screen, and features, make this phone fantastic. Hopefully they will have a new model with a speakerphone, and make it a little slimmer. More memory would help as well.

This phone is bullet-proof ! It has good functionality & features, and keeps charge for weeks on end. You can also beat this phone up; drop it, compress it, etc., and you'll only succeed in scratching the finish (and back / face plate can be replaced cheaply !). Drawbacks: 1) the camera is somewhat lacking, but honestly- who cares ? 2) screen brightness problems in direct sunlight.

I have used this phone for about 18 months - so it's no longer the sharpest tool in the box - but hey get a life!!! If you want cutting edge technology - upgrade ya freaks!! It's performed without fault - still as solid as ever - no dodgy hinge. The screen has been protected with the flip closure and the battery life is still excellent. I am going to upgrade to the Samsung E720 as I think the 'flip design' works - no trashed screen from keys or change in your pocket - I only hope it performs to the same standard as my Z600 - nice one sony E

I Have the Z600 for almost a Year now... Before i bought this phone, i had a T68i. I can tell you that although the T68i in comparison with the Z600 looks ancient ( in means of its abilities ) it is certainaly more beautiful ( as a design ). I admit that i never really liked the looks of the Z600. The camera also of the phone is bad. Even at the time of its release it was considered a bad camera in comparison with other models. But then again at that time few mobiles had cameras. Today it is considered awful. It has a max resolution of only 352x288 and a very bad image ( especially in low light ). What I like about the phone? It has nice and easy menu, a very good and bright screen, customizable themes, nice polyphonic sounds, and very good reception.

I contacted the local Sony E place and was informed that a software upgrade is necessary to stop it from freezing. I need to store all info somewhere else before taking it in for upgrade as I will lose all info during the process. NZ35 for service + software upgrade cost.

I own a great Sony Ericssonn Z600 (Svensk kvalit�t och teknologi) and am very pleased with it. But I have a problem... while in the beginning I could transfer pictures and sounds from the mobile phone to my laptop through the Infrared port after downloading the Service Pack 2 for Windows XP I can not do anything now at all. Hello, I just received my SE Z600 few days ago, and it is wonderful. I owned the SE T310 before receiving the Z600, and I was pleased with it. It seems that the Z600 is a very advanced model in comparison to the T310. It carries many great features and options. For example, the camera option, it is really nice to have when around friends and family. the sharp style, and weight of this phone are also unique. All what I can say at this time, so far so good. I would rate this phone on a scale of 1 to 10 a "10," and this my personal opinion.

I think this phone is brilliant - ive had it for over a year and the only one id consider swapping it for is the z800 which is the updated version! i own a SE z600 myself. It's great ant the camera's quality is even better than the on on the siemens sx1. im fully satisfied with this mobile. i guess my next phone will be SE z1010, which is also the same style and type, but supports mpeg4 and mp3. well, maybe a little shortage of memory, but it's enough for me ;) yes, it's bluetooth supports siemens sx1. i don't event try to compare SE to nokia, cause nokia's phones are very pricy, but they offer MUCH LESS value for money... siemens are cheaper, but less reliable.. I think SE rules :)

I've had this phone a year and about to upgrade to maybe a Nokia. I have to real problems with it besides the memory isn't very good and had to delete lots of photos in order to receive/store more. The camera was my main gripe, it became quite grainy picture quality after about 6 months and i stopped using after that as I couldnt take a decent picture in daylight so I didnt attempt it at night. If you want cool features and not to bothered about the camera go for it. if not I'd pick a different phone.

This Z600 have a nice options, include blootooth and IrDa, big & great display. its looks like very good when i saw this phone on the web i buy it before 8 monthes this phone suck;s realy i have a problems with making calls and sending SMS its takes a lot of steps its very big phone & its lose's his color and i got problems with names in fone sometimes stops i must restart the phone or move the battery out and put it again, camera is bad too. Battery is very very good when you write messegs its go easy with big bottons and big display.

I got this phone a month ago and got rid of it for the T630 just 3 weeks l8r. The phone is fat, has no memory and the camera is terrible. the phone stalls so u have to either wait for ages or take out the battery and start again. accessing things is slow and its complicated abd slow to either dial a number. if the phone is in ur pocket u can't hear it and if its on vibrate it isn't strong enough. For now im using my old Nokia 5210 because ive neve had a problem with it and its INDESTRUCTABLE!!!!!

This phone sucks. It is dumb..... it is not easy to make a call, have to take many steps to find a number. It has a speaker to play music but cannot be used as a speaker phone. Limited capacity for message storage. I used to have a Nokia, easy to dial with one touch dial, store a bunch of messages without asking me to delete any. In other words MUCH MORE PRACTICAL. Ohh... the flip is shitty too, or my phone is defective... some times when I open or close it shuts down or restart the software. I hate this phone, i'm selling it if someone wants it (2 months old).

P400 simpily sux. Whats the point of rotating here and there? More mechanism = more wearing off. Z600 have bluetooth, smart phonebook, external display, able to share pictures, ringtones, themes etc(..through infrared and bluetooth), can the P400 do it? No. Poor loney samsung living in the world of their own.

I have had a one of these for about a month now and could not recommend it less. Originally when I got the phone it would hang (not respond for ages when adding contacts and once while turning it on). I got the phone replaced in case it was a defective handset but still have similiar problems (although not as often as before). So my recommendation would be to stay away from it !

well, i have used this phone for more than 6 months..so far i find the fuctions are superb. bluetooth,infrared,gprs and so on, brilliant. the only thing that make this phone not so perfect is the photos are not that good quality, but the picture size is definately bigger than samsung E700. i just bought this fone and it is a reallly kool fone. The desgin is unique and it has some kool stuff. I had nokia, motorola, samsung but overall this is one of the best fones and the camera could be compared to the samsung e715. The Sony ericsson Z600 is by far the best GSM phone i have come across. I have used 3 brans earlier and i ave come back to Sony Ericsson. My earlier Sony Ericsson phones were...T310 and T610. I have used Nokia and Motorolla phones. Though they too are good in their respect, i personally have found Sony Ericsson phnes and especially the Z600(the best camera phone in the Sony ericsson group) really good.

I've been using the Z600 for six months, and while the display and camera is not quite as good at the Mot V525, The bluetooth headset (HBH-65) works well with the mobile. I've tried the T610 and 630 but found the central key got very loose and needed to be serviced a few times until I gave up and got the Z600.

I just got this phone two days ago in Alhambra, CA. IT's sooo awesome!! The size might be a little chunky compared to the other flip phones out there, but the features within it are excellent. BTW, I got my Z600 @ an Asian cell phone place for FREE (after rebate)!! Cash paid up front: $64 - 64 rebate = FREE!!

I just got my phone this week z600 and love it. The best part are the different profiles that it has ,home, office, outdoors etc. each on has different settings. Aslo the Mr. DJ wicked. For someone that write and sings this is a great feature for me to have. I can mini compose a tune and store it for later use. In additon the reception is amazing. I use it in the bastment all the time and it is great, this has nothing to do with the provider. We also have nokia and it does not work as well there. Love my phone.

I have a Z600 and the problem is with the pictures by photo camera.When I send the pictures to the computer by ir, in order to copy them I see that in a size 10-15 cm, they are not clear and if I do them larger ( size A4) the problem is bigger.I always use the big analysis of phone(352*288). Out of the three phones you mention, I would say the Z600 is the best just from looking at their features. It is the only tri-band out of the three meaning you'll be able to use it in many more areas of the world, and it has bluetooth and IR which neither of the others have.

jux bought tis fone 2 weeks ago..at a discounted rate..dun really impressed mi the 1st time i saw cuz its' bulky and dun really trust SE cuz my frenz have bad experiences with T610.. But this fone proves mi wrong with all my assumptions..its cool and sporty..good for rugged youngsters like mi..the covers can be changed according to own perferences..screen colors and poly tunes are wonderful..loves to hear it rings longer when frenz called..haha.. The negative pts bout this fone is the camera..not very good in dim lights..but still able to capture nice pics in bright light places..oni 1X zoom..but try not to zoom, cuz the effects are not very good.. Enabled with bluetooth and this allows mi to transfer lotsa nice poly tunes from frenz's hps too..i tink Nokia, Samsung, Panasonic and other hps shld enabled with bluetooth too..it makes things easier this way..overall, its quite a good fone..can consider buying..=)

Really lovely looking phone. I upgraded from a Nokia 3650 to this and love the look and feel. Really easy to use. Doesn't seem to have alot of features though, maybe they're just compacted down. The only thing I was really dissapointed with was the quality of the camera : ( very poor. I'm in two minds as to whether I should send it back or not. Would have liked a better camera since I use it all the time.

Last year in December I bought this phone. Maybe I had a bad batch, but this is total utter crap. It's a waste of my money. First of, the phone keep freezing/hanging, akin to a computer freezing and you cannot move your mouse. I tried to shut it down, but it doesn't work too! In the end I had to pull the battery out and place it back in again. I tried to start it up, and it jammed again! What the heck? It wouldn't be bad if this doesn't happen often. But it does for me. It can happen around 5-6 times a week. I took it to an authorized Sony Ericsson dealer to reinstall the software (or whatever they did) and shortly after that it still hangs! Not only that, the camera is really grainy. It's not great. Compared to Nokia 6230 (which I've bought to replace this Z600), Z600 lost by miles. As a side note, I'm just letting you guys know what I personally went through. So if you're an SE fan and totally disagree with me, that's ok. I just want to warn potential buyers what MAY happen.It does not happen to everyone, but I've also heard from my friends their Z600 hangs too. This and P900.

This is my first mobile ever. I've had it about two weeks now, and I love it. The features are great and it looks cool. The only complaints I have are the thickness (not too big a deal though, just use a jacket/cargo pocket or purse), the fact that you only have 8 message alert options to choose from, and the covers I got with my phone (black, which is actually a very dark blue, and blue) get fingerprints all over them. I'm constantly polishing it with my shirt to get them off, maybe I'm just anal though. The camera I find to be good. It's by no means amazing, but not bad. You do need good light though. Midis sound great on the phone as ringtones, and the display is awesome. The keypad is really nice, because the number's are underneath (so they won't wear off) and they have a cool blue backlighting. UI is simple and efficient. Memory hasn't been a problem (already put lots of crap on the phone), and I don't foresee it becoming one, though it does seem small compared to other phones.

I love this phone. It has cool features and very nice sounds! Its not that expensive, non like the E700. Except, its a bit bulky and thick but still, i love it. It's manly. It also suites the ladies. (this phone is not suitable for small ppl or ppl with small hands, it looks like holding a...big thing.)

Got the phone yesterday.. Well worth the �9 to upgrade, loads of functions for a cheap phone + nice screen. The only issue is the camera is not great but I probably won't use it anyway. I would recommend this phone to any one. The software that comes with the phone did not work off the CD, I had to download it from the web site. Did anyone else have this problem?

JOHN, my Z600 battery lasted only for a whole day the first time I used my phone. That's normal though. Now it lasts 3 days if used moderately, and even 4-5 days on standby. SUSY's right. If you guys opt for a better camera, I say go for the Samsung E700. the only drawback with that phone is it has no bluetooth and the upper half wobbles after a while. It doesn't feel sturdy. AND IT COSTS A LOT! MARCUS, that's odd. I always thought Malasians get hold of brand new phones WAY before it's neighbors. Not to worry though, their bound to turn up in your place. It would cost around the same here (The Philippines) if not a speck higher.

I spent ages deciding between the Samsung E700,and the SE Z600. The Camera is much much much better on the E700,daytime is fine but evening ones are blurry. The Z600 also freezes&locks occasionally when inserting items. I'd say if you solely want a camera go for E700, if you like cool features such as photos assigned to received text messages stick with Z600....I however have opted for the Motorola V600 now...:O)

Well, thats it! I finally got my Z600 at last! I was rather hoping i'd find a mitsubishi m720 (or its brother without the iMode thingy), but I not a shadow here in Manila. Anyway, The phone's great... Its just that it kinda slows down a bit when you have a lot of things in it already. And there are some "application errors" every now and then... Charging time takes more or less 3 hours. but aside from those glitches, it works fine. Camera ain't bad, just a bit blurry at night (even when indoors and lit) but ok for dylight use. It sounds great if you play the MIDI tones, but a bit scratchy when you play recorded sounds. But the screen resolution is superb, and the infrared is compatible with (some high-end) Nokia and Samsung phones. very user-friendly. But you guys might want to consider other brands. SE Z600 is a good phone... Not perfect...

Hi Jonathan Cruz, go for the Mitsubishi M720 and you will loves it. Cheaper than these 2 phones but better in term of color and quality. SE Z600 merely the same as T610 and has only 1.5MB memory, you will get frustated after taking some pictures and memory full. For the Samsung E700, the price is very expensive and very similar to M720 and M720 is much cheaper. M720 colors and camera quality is much better, I used it for more than 2 weeks no hanged and also user friendly.

I owned a late model nokia and I think it was agreat phone. It was simple and very user friendly... But when they started releasing those flashy new ones, they started to be so complicated and very expensive. Philips had good old phones too. My friend had one of those old Philips twist and they are unbelivably durable. He used to throw them around so much I wonder how the poor phone survives to this day! But Philips phones aren't what they used to be. A bit crappy for my taste to be straightforward. Oh yeah, sucks a bit too. As for Sony-Ericsson, great improvement! Their old phones (ericsson and sony separately) seem to lag behind their peers like those aged A, G, and R series models. The more modern T68 and T68i were very good phones (but has a poor LCD resolution). The P800 was a bit overdone and intimidating, but it still never fails to surprise me. I'm going to buy a new phone, but I can't decide between the Samsung E700 and the SE Z600. Samsung has a lot of fun features but SE is cheaper and also boasts pretty cool (but practical) functions. People say the Z600 has a poor camera, and the E700 has a poor hinge. Can you guys help me out? Thanks!

Screen is indeed excellent, but nothing else is remarkable. Camera is below average, and the OS is not particularly intuitive, and prone to crashing. The bluetooth works well, but you can't use it to install new games (unless I'm missing something?). The thing that really sucks is the lack of memory - as memory is DIRT CHEAP these days, there is no reasonable excuse for providing so little, especially on a camera phone. Call me cynical, but I suspect SE does this deliberately as a sweetener for the networks - the less memory you have, the more often you'll be using bandwidth to load new games, ringtones etc.

I've never seen any phones with better display than Z600! The display is really amazing, incredible, sharp, bright, and unbeatable. The TFD 65k color is brilliant!! I also like the themes. I can change the feature display of my phone anytime I like. Plus, with the theme editor pro 3g, I can make my own ones. Really excited!

Brilliant phone, beats any other phone hands down when it comes to screen quality, design and ease of use. You can download new themes for the phone for free which is the best bit becuase the themes are all different and very good quality unlike themes for phones such as the T68I. The phone has good memory and can store between 70-80 SMS's depending on their length. All in all a very good phone.

Got 1 week ago. Phone is okay but maybe the barrier is the memory. 1.5 MB means nothing if you want to attached thumb nail for all your friends. Another thing about shared memory, its not fully shared memory as I notice inbox SMS can only contain less than 50 messages. So Nokia rating is high in this case. Even my previous 8310 can save more than 150 msgs ! I should say this phone has dedicated memory for all function (SMS, MMS, Picture, Sounds etc). I think there should be a way to set the memory allocation. I also facing prob to turn off "Send my caller ID" function. Has looking around but cannot find it. I have to manually turn on/off when making a call. So far, I am quite satisfy using this phone. Bluetooth okay, sounds great, picture quality not bad (nokia is clarity is brighter) Just wonder why SE did not release the solid color casing.

Overall impression - thick, maybe too thick, althout fits in the hand suprisingly well, and not too heavy. Looks worst than in is - and it's maybe the only complaint I would have about the phone, asides that it does not have the remaining standby time as it used to be on the T39. Feels more solid than I would have anticipated, and the clamshell design was really well done. Hrdware - colour display very good and sharp, visible without problems in full daylight, although no intensity adjustment is avaliable. Keypad large and easily pressed, far better than any of the older T18-28-39 series. Ring volume quite high, although dependent a lot on the melody - many of the included ringtones (as midi files) are just too long to serve as a reminder that someone is waiting to be answered. RF reception outperforms may of the older /// models, battery life good, although because of the truckload of features, it's not a matter of standby-talk time anymore. Games, camera usage, or just browsing through all the wallpapers, themes, ringtones and using the screen at full intensity willl noticeably shorten the stand-by time. Camera - lots of fun, though resololution is still low, wish it could be 640x480. Ten again, it's not meant to replace a stand alone digital camera - so it's still quite impressive, with the negative-pic effect or night mode(which increses the exposure time, but not tremendously) Overall impression - excellent, and really worth having.

I've had this phone for about a month now and its the best phone i've ever used so far. The reception is next to perfect, no dropped calls and sound quality is superb, not to mention the screen WOW. I also bought the Samsung e715 but i could not change the ip settings so that i could use the browser, but anyways the z600 has bluetooth and i'd much rather stick to my sony ericsson.

Michelle, you can download the manual from the SE website at www.sonyericsson.com. Type z600 in the site search and one you have all the information, you will see a category on the left hand side entitled Support. Following that there's a list of links, one of which says User Guides. It's in PDF format, by the way. I downloaded the manual before I got my phone so I could use it straight away ;) I hope this helps.

My z600 arrived today and I'm in heaven! This phone is just so wonderful. I've got the basic functions sussed out ok and set my regularly used profiles. I'm learning the various options of SMS which was a whizz on my old Nokia (and Nokia's in general). I'm just basically having a good play around until I find what I'm comfortable with but so far, I'm well impressed. The Music DJ is amusing and even if you're tone-deaf like me, you can make a canny little tune by mixing a few types with the four instrument choices. The camera, for what it is, is cool. I know it's not up to the standard of a plain digital camera but for a phone and its uses, it's adquate enough. I'm not exactly David Bailey! The menus are brilliant. I just love the PC desk-top style menus. At this early stage, I can't always remember where I've seen various options but I'm sure I'll pick it up soon. I've had a play of a couple of the games and I'm very impressed with the graphics. I'm sure I'll find my favourite game on this phone to pass a spare moment or two! One thing I'm relieved about, I got this phone via my online network operator so I was taking a bit of a gamble with regard to the covers. I'm delighted I haven't got that ugly stripey one or the floral one, though I did like the blue and red covers that came with them. I know this reviews a bit vague but I'm still discovering the wonders of my new phone so once I'm more attuned to it, I'll perhaps post again.

I really wish people wouldn't come on here to diss handsets they're not even using! Jeez people, go to your handset section and write a useful review for potential buyers. Dissing other handsets that you probably don't even have doesn't help anyone at all. Now I've said my bit, I've been to see a working Z600 this evening and I was very impressed. I've been after a clamshell phone for a year now. The one I wanted last year wasn't available at the time but now I'm in a position to buy one, I feel a year is too long technology wise to buy it. So, I looked at the Z600. I love it and I'm definitely going to buy it. I llike the simple fact that it has a simple "ring" sound on it as well as it's polyphonic. I find the calendar and reminder function very useful in the phone I have already so I'm pleased the Z600 has it. It will take me a while to get used to where functions are within the menus but it won't take me long. I'm really looking forward to using it for real.

The Panasonic X70 is an awesome alternative. Unlike Sony Ericsson, they release phones that are well tested and few. They don't mass market like Nokia and S.E. with slight alterations over previous models. This way, the consumer get's the best value high quality mobile.

I bought a SE Z600 last week. Sold it this week after having numerous problems. Just bought a new Nokia 6600, no hassles. Very effective & practical phone unlike the Z600. The problem i encountered with the Z600 is as follows: 1. Unable to view the screen in the outdoors. Don't think it's TFT. I could view my old 6100 in sunlight with no problems & it was a non-TFT 4k screen! 2. Sometimes the auto answer doesn't work! I've gotta press the answer button to retrieve the call. SW problem??? 3. Unable to turn/switch profiles like Nokia. Turning silent on/off is not enough. They don;t even have timed profiles like Nokia. 4. Have to delete the sent & other messages one by one. No dedicated delete counter. 5. Clear key is not effective cos a few of my friends have accidentally deleted my contacts by pressing the C key! 6. The phone slows down aftyer some time of extensive usage. Even the calls list totally hanged! Had to switch the phone off & on again (reset) 7. Camera is lousy. Colour is not bad but clarity is terrible. The photo is clear during snapping but it gets blurred after pic is taken! 8. Menu navigation & sms is too slow. The phone takes it time. Even worse when memory is limited. 9. Polyphonic tones are good but unable to set normal ring tone for sms messages. Nokia scores high here! 10. Unable to retrieve phonebook unless contacts are copied to phone memory! Or only by using call from sim feature....slow again! 11. No speaker phone. most current nokia models have this feature! 12. Talk time not so impressive. 13. Nokia contact features & versatility is the best unlike SE which is so complecating & slow. You can't zero down contacts from the main menu. Pls take note Nokia models from 6510 have this feature. I got so fed up with the phone & told myself that SE has got alot of catching up to do when it comes to practicality, effectiveness & user friendliness. Not to forget the sluggish software. I can type sms twice as fast in any nokia phone compared to SE. Pls take note, i'm not discouraging potential buyers but i'm merely informing what's in store for them. Just when i thought to give SE a second chance, it failed me terribly. I firmly stick to nokia cos they make very practical, effective & best of all user friendly phones that don't slow down or run on sluggish softwares.

Both Z600 and Nokia 6600 have ONE major common problem and that's the multi-angle screen. U can never see the contents (such as emails) properly in certain angles and lighting conditions. What a pity with such a good design!

This and the T610. Z600 has better screen and supposed to have better polyphonic. Software could be better too since it shares the same platform of the T610, SE now knows the fault of it and would correct it. Trust me. Alot of issued on the T68i was corrected on the T610. It isn't 1.5mb shared memory, it's 2mb shared memory. They got it wrong. Just like the T610, it has 2mb. 1.5mb is when you buy it from voda or something where they have their software on it.. takes up space for no reason..

@Haha? I think I posted in the T610 thread already.. Having bluetooth is one thing.. having a proper software for it on the phone is another.. Eg. Samsung V200 has IR, so does the T610.. Can samsung send picture? No. T610 can. Can samsung send ringtones? No. T610 can. Can samsung send contacts? No. T610 can. All this done without software.. IR only used to connect the phone to a computer.. and that, also you need the software to do so...

A T610 but redesigned within a ClamShell and an improved screen. Please note to all T610 oweners. According to SE service centre there is a possibility that the Screen from the Z600 can be used on the T610!

For starters, it can't be the same phone. While looking at a Nokia there is a chance that it might be due to size, layout and all.. but this is totally different in design from the T610, not to mention the speakers and camera are all in totally different location. Has good screen. Sadly, I prefer the T610's looks. Like the metal finish.

It doesnt have a memory stick slot. So they arent encouraging you to buy memory sticks. 2mb is enough, and if you want more then get a SMART phone.

2MB means that Sony "encourages" you to buy their "memorysticks", and lots of them... Perhaps it is likely that a 8/16 MB memstick would be included with a Z600? That would make sense, but may not be offered by all providers. Buyer beware, as always.

Okay.. Memory.. It isn't leakage.. if you noticed the stories.. it's only for image files.. When you enter the Picture Gallery on the T610, you'll noticed how fast everything works.. this is because the phone saves an umcompressed thumbnail of the images thus creating the need for a larger file. About photo resolution, don't bother comparing as they are similar.. Can't comment much on the Samsung as it's software is terrible. Will explain below about the Samsung later. As for 7250, it focuses well close by, but at a distance, it doesn't too well.. and the edge is blurred out and not too focused while the T610 is more even but not fantastic anywhere. If camera, I guess I would vouch for the T610 as it's the most flexible with options to set shutter speed (faster for darker and slower for brighter images), effects, set the colour saturation (like you want it to be more colourful or more dull, up to you). Samsung, I leave out because even if it had the best camera among the three, the software is terrible. All over the place like the 7250, but then worst.. limitations for memory with ringtones.. java.. terrible.. you know what I mean..
