It is 2019 and I still use it, battery shows 1900 000 uAh (in service tests) and the phone is almost 7y old (i feel like dinosaur) :P Love Xperia acro S (small, good in hand, still quite fast, ok camera, and etc.) but Sony new models doesnt last that long as the used to :( XZ1c and XZ2c are not so reliable. And when compare them with AcroS (7 year old model), where are the improvements? It looks like only 1..2y have passed or was the AcroS 5y from future :D So new phone would not be Sony, unfortunately. (My 5cents from Estonia)

running BPaul's custom lollipop rom buttery smooth, you should use fstrim apps to make it run without laggs. still good for using social apps like whatsapp or facebook and etc. not a heavy champion any more. The only bad thing about it like other said is battery, worse than my old htc desire, you have to charge everyday heck even every 12 hours, with some basic texting and calling. sony did their worst creating a phone , Thanks for nothing Sony :D

I have my Sony Xperia Acro S for almost 3 years now. Sometimes is freeze or rage but never been a big problem. I think the battey are great! And if you turn on Power Saver then it almost don't use battery. My biggest concern is the memory on the phone. You can only have like 10 apps/games, 20 songs downloaded from Google Play and around 500 photos and videos. But I will recommend to buy a memory card! Over all the phone is great, the size is Perfect and it is a good working phone.

My acro S makes 3 years this november, with 0 problems. It was dropped, bathed in wine and sea / mountain rivers. After 3 years the battery goes from 14 % to 0 very fast. And the original screen foil has some bubbles in it. 2015 apps run a little slow, but i think i will use it 1 year more. Nothing to choose from theese days (waterproof).

Well, one of the the only weak points I've found with this phone was the RAM. This has 512 MB and was the flagship phone from Sony in 2012, now the flagship has 3 GB of RAM. This phone should have had 1 GB or RAM, but no phones did that I know of in 2012. To compensate for the lack of RAM (you can't upgrade it), there's a few things you can do: 1. Fully power it down every seven days or less to wipe the cache. 2. Delete or disable any apps you don't need. This phone arrives to the consumer with quite a few apps you'll probably never use. In its factory configuration (before you even download your first app) after being on for three days straight, it'll be consuming 75%-80% of the ram causing lag on movement and studders on video. 3. Make sure you don't have two programs that do the same function. Two of the most common complaints about this phone is "It just shut off on me" and that's from being out of RAM and crashing. The other is "After a couple days of use the keyboard lags" and that one is because of the limited RAM and factory settings. Meaning, this phone has its own factory texting features and because its an Android phone (and they're attached to Google) so it has "WhatsApp" which updates into "Hangouts". If you don't use that program then delete "Hangouts" and disable "WhatsApp" (you can't delete it). Then you should never have keyboard lag. I've had my Acro S for two years now and its never shut off on me and after removing the programs I've mentioned it can run for weeks at a time and I've never encountered keyboard lag since.

Buying this phone was a big mistake, the only thing that's good in it is the camera to be honest.. The phone is so slow and battery drains fast although I don't download games and I only download the necessary apps but it's still slow it kinda changed my whole opinion of Sony :(

Furthermore d battery gets hot. Dear kinng, Acro s is a device with various complaints and the above mentioned problems are common to all acro s. My acro turned out to be the worst phone I ever used. In case of hanging delete most apps on your phone and make sure lot of ram left to run ur fone

I accudentally upgraded my acro s to JB. Just because i notice ics is getting slower so what i did is to plug it in my pc and use pc companion and repair. But what happen is software upgrade. Jb is fine but not fit to acro s because too much lag! Anyone can help me to flash it to ics again. Ics run smoother than jb! I've been using this phone for 2 years now and its the best phone if you look after it.I reset it after 2-3 months because it has got a 16 Gb external and internal and that will make it a bit slow but overall i love this phone the shape, size ,camera, walkman, water resistant except battery life

z2 is a flahship phone right now usually I dont buy flasgship devices I wait for them to depreciate because it's not wise to buy them its a waste of money since they are not too different from previous flagships. Im looking for a perfect phone for me but Cant find one. battery life is the first thing I consider when buying a phone second is a BIG storage since taking photos and recording videos in a high resolution consumes a lot of memory so big storage is a must. lastly the design, I didnt pick s4 since its a cheap looking phone.

This phone was just wonderful. Especially the waterproof stuff, it really worked in my case. My mobile was in my pant pocket and was in a bit hurry and dint check it before putting inside the washing machine and wrapped with lot of other clothes around. We just realised only after the washing is done approx 1hr washing. When I took it out it was still on and I just had to power it off and keep it for 1 day drying the sun.. Everything works as is and no damage done.. its worth for the money.. Yeah it heats a lot while playing games otherwise its all good..

Goodbye to my acro s .... ist hard bricked. I love this phone very much because of its durability and hate it for its battery life...now its gone ... can someone suggest a good phone? I was thinking of z1 compact but it looks ugly for me. Z1 looks good for me but I hate the battery life. LG G2 has no card slot, it will make my 32GB sd card useless. I dont want to go to also for s4 because its ugly looking. Lg g3 is expensive my budget is for 15-20k pesos only. HTC one is the previous generation snapdragon and ugly camera. dont know where to go now.

Time to root my phone. Its been year and a half and its time to see something new. After JB update graphics on most of the games was ruined. Artificial textures appeared and some parts of the games were not interesting. Such a problem can be eliminated by using a custom rom. I've seen that couple of performance roms are available for xperia acro s, so hope to make my phone interesting for another year.

I've been using this fone for 18 months and here' what I can say, Image quality: 8.5/10 Internet browsing: 8.5/10 Video recording: 8/10 performance: 8.5/10 Sms/mms/calls: 9/10 battery life with internet browsing/gaming/walkman: 5/10 battery life with normal usage: 8/10 fyi: im using a prepaid broadband sim to my acro s and have it as a wifi hotspot witg 3-5 devices connected to it, and the battery only lasts for 3hrs. Enough for me. Cons. It logs yes it is, sometimes run slow, but its like human that needs to rest for a while from heavy usage. Internet browsing speed vs iphone 4s vs s3 I could say it compete with their speed. Download its the same.

Help me please - Z1C or Acro S? I mean not which one is better but quality/price. Acro S is 200$ cheaper in my country. Ok, the camera is 12mpx not 20, but nobody talks about weak flash and night shots. Acro S makes not only Full HD but Full HD with good details (check gsmarena's test). Yes, not like Z1C but still good. Ram and processor is worsе but maybe enough? And nobody cries from nasty Kit Kat! Nothing about bad sound too. And Z1C has scratchable back panel. The only thing makes me angry and moody: Acro S is 2 years old. And after all 200$ cheaper... What do you think?

I had a same problem also, it just because of your flooding apps installed. try to uninstall some apps, it will give some ram to breath. And let battery doctor apps do task killer. Make sure just use one task killer.

Seriously, if you are wanting a good phone that can handle most everything and take amazing pictures while also being water/sand/dust proof, this is your phone. Ive had it for 2 years now, and has given me no problems at all. True, battery life isnt the best, but for its price its worth it. Highly recommend it.

This is an interesting overview. I doubt that you actually handled all 3 devices. The most interesting thing is how much judgement can someone take just by looking numbers in the tables. First of all questions like the one you are answering are very stypid. People are lazy to look for the numbers and videos themselfs. The post questions like that hoping to hear an opinion which is not objective. What does it mean if you have more mAh or MPix o HD if these things are not functional, or the phone casing gives you feel like you hold piece of plastic for recycling?

Go for Xperia SP. It has got better CPU and GPU compared to Acro S; while it has the same CPU as of Xperia V, the GPU in Xperia SP (Adreno 320) is way better than that of Xperia V (Adreno 225). In terms of battery, too, SP has an edge over the other two. Moreover, it has got the fancier LED notification bar, which is more likely to turn a couple of heads in the crowd towards your direction.

Been using it for about 1 1/4 year now, and have an issue with the battery getting weaker, losing the NFC sticker, body pretty beat up, paint on the earphone flap chiping off, and lacking internal storage. Overall, the other hardware and software stuff still ok and runs normally. Its is the greatest smartphone I have been used apart with my trusty old SE C905 for night photographing thanks to it xenon flash and infinity focus mode which Acro s don't have.

Maybe you use it with mobile case while you are taking pictures underwater. For me I do not recommend it with mobile case if you are going to snap a photo underwater because it can cause a blurry pictures... Second the moisture will stay in the the mobile case even after you took the shot.. And it can affect the camera performance.

Hi, The phone is actually waterproof. U just need to close the ports properly. I even had been for swimming with this phone in my pocket and nothing happened. Spilt tea and later washed completely. Still its fine. Its been an year now. Still it works like charm.

Don't ever trust statements like "Water proof up to 1 meter and 30 minutes". I bricked mine completely in 5 minutes, 20 cm underwater. The obvious cause is that USB cap is not as hermetic as it is supposed to be, however, you won't be able prove that it was closed at all when you get it to repair.

Xperia acro s has a camera shutter key thats one of the reason why I chose this phone over xpV. XPV has no camera shutter key and no hdmi i think? Correct me if im wrong. If you're a gamer, I think this phone is not for you. 4-6 hrs of gaming drains your battery fast. I think thats the problem of previous xperia phones. But overall. Its a good a built durable,a bit handy and water resistant. I tested it in more than 1meter maybe about 4 ft. Still working. For its price range, its good enough.But if you're expecting more . Try their new released xperia zed phones, like xp Z,Zr,Z ultra or looking forward for the xperia Z1f. Btw, btw overheat is very natural in android phones but check the phone temperature. Im using screen protector and a nilkin case for my lt26w so that its not a bit bulky and still fits to my shirt's pocket. :)

If you want LTE support(much faster browsing), more slimmer look, faster CPU(because its using S4 chipset rather than old S3 chipset use by Acro S, thats why it faster even though both clocked at 1.5 ghz), a bond phone(lol), a bigger camera MP, lighter weight and a removable battery, go for V. If want longer lasting battery(like I played GOF2 continuously and it take only 30% per hour), can snap photo underwater(it has camera button which V does not having because touchscreen doesn't work in water), back home menu key not screen, better front cam and tougher build material, go for Acro S. Cons for both are they heat up very quickly, bad viewing angle(which doesn't matter by me), speaker are not that power(because of the waterproofing).

yep I know that...I am just asking if someone has already reached it...Because I am observing my network operator whether it's ugly or not, I want to confirm that they are not giving/limiting me to 1-3Mbps data rate. I am testing my DL rate usually at dawn so that there are only few users that are connected and ensure a peak DL rate. So I have to confirm why I can't go higher than 3Mbps, is it a network related or an invalid specs sheet.

Comparing to the competition, this phone is expensive a lot if the camera is degraded. There will be custom roms but I believe that sony will bury us with the JB.

Forget it I am not very sure if it will fix your problem, all I know is that you don't have a hardware problem, most cases are just bugs and software related. I don't want to waste your time and disappoint you at the end if it will not resolve your problem. But if you really want to try okay fine. WATCH this, it is a tutorial how to how to FLASH you only need three things.. -pc companion(so that proper drivers for your phone will be installed, just google it) -flashtool(just google it) - ROM(try this ROM it's a stock JB from middle east, after downloading this paste it on the Firmware folder on the flashtool installation directory) here's a link assuming you have all the requirements, installed PC companion, flashtool and download the rom for your phone proceed now. 1)open flashtool(check first if your phone is properly detected by flashtool by plugging your phone on your computer) 2)click the thunder like icon 3)select flashmode, select the rom or the ftf file you have downloaded.( do not tick/check anything from the exclude: and check all three on the wipe: portion. Also tick no final verification. 4)click flash 5)turnoff your phone 6)connect the usb on your phone while holding down the volume down button.(as the green led apears it will start to flash your phone)DO not try to disconnect the phone at this point or it will be BRICKED!! 7)wait for it to finish, disconnect and power up your phone. "it will take a few minutes to startup". and your done you succesfully flashed to a different firmware on a different region. I am not responsible to any damage that will cause you if you did something wrong. take note also that flashing will wipe all your apps(on the 2Gb partition), but will not wipe anything on the 11GB partition(On the internal SD partition) so please use backup and restore so that you can return your apps after.

6.1.A.2.55(ice cream and sandwich) is outdated already my friend, 6.2.B.0.200(jellybean) is the newest, 6.2.B.0.211 for middle east regions but it is also the same as the build 6.2.B.0.200. I would recommend to upgrade your phone to 6.2.B.0.200. You can upgrade by installing PC companion on your PC. Or by manually flashing your phone. 1--There are some improvement's on Jellybean just like offline speech to text translations, quick toggles on the pull up notifications,improve battery life,smoother UI transitions,small apps, some added features on the camera and a whole new UI experience. 2--Everyone have tried it ..maybe??? 3--Yes you can always downgrade(but will lost everything to be specific the apps installed on your phone, but you will not loss anything from the internal SD partition...the 11GB one so it means that if you save all of your photos and videos on that partition they will not be wiped even when you upgrade or downgrade the phone to a different software build) All I can tell do not be afraid of upgrading. and DO NOT BLAME ME if you upgraded and encountered a problem. I can help as long as I can BTW one drawback is the 1080p vid recording it's laggy. 720p is okay.

it's an below average performer(on my opinion only)..do not expect a lag less experience on all games. There is no such thing, because there are a lot of reasons why it lags. not just hardware related but sometimes it can be also software related. Try saving your money a little bit, and try looking around and consider other brands. If you are really decided then go for this handset, but do not expect miracles okay?

Hey guys. I have some problems with my acro s. when i use the data traffic from my service provider it is restarting frequently. if i turn data OFF, the phone is working great. When i turn it ON it starts restarting. Sometimes it could restart in 5 minutes, other times it may be a day or a half. I already got a new sim, the problem still exists. I did first a soft reset, then a hard reset, no success. Then i did a repair using the PC Companion which also updated my version to 4.1.2. No success this time again. Then i used a sim card from another service provider and i noticed that it is working fine even when data is ON. Can anyone suggest me what the problem is? I believe the problem is in my operator, however they can't find it as well. i checked my phone with the new sim from other operator for a month and it did not restarted at all. hope somebody will be able to help. thanks.

In my opinion the Acro S has better features than the Xperia V, except for the processor... everything else is the same or better on the Acro S... It has a shutter button for camera, a better front facing camera, has HDMI port, it includes a charging station in the box, and finally it has more 3G Bands for market compatibility. Either way both phones are great.. just make sure you get what you're looking for

some users also reported that after installing JB their rocker keys is not properly working anymore. Try reinstalling JB again or downgrade to ICS via Flashtool and observe if it is still there. If it is a software issue most probably reinstalling the ROM will solve the problem...I already installed JB a lot of times on my phone, from 6.2.B.0.200 to 6.2.B.0.211 so far I have never encountered that kind of problem. BTW from which country you are?...maybe it has something to do with the firmware released by your country. Try reinstalling 4.1.2 with a different region (eg. hongkong rom)via flashtool.

WHY to root...? If you are fun of modding your phone the first step is to root then modding will now follow. Rooting will also help you install cracked apps such as poweramp etc. it will also help you to do mods such as swapping your internal SD card to your external SD card..meaning apps Data and Cache will be installed on external SD card instead on internal memmory and many more. Keep in mind that: Rooting can void your warranty and as long as you unlock the Bootloader, by time you unlock your bootloader you can now install any custom kernels and Custom Roms.. But you can still ask for warranty even though you already unlocked your bootloader(because it can be relocked again and you can unroot anytime)and as long as it is not cpu related issues because you can spoil your CPU by installing a custom kernel and Overclocking it. keep in mind that warranty is advance payment for future repairs. "If you spoil your CPU and they do not repair it what is the importance/essence of buying a phone with warranty anymore if they will not repair it??"Right?I am not telling you also that if you spoil your CPU they will automatically repair it. take note also that you do not need to unlock your Bootloader if you just want to root or if you want to install a custom rom and try a different android ROM other than the stock sony ROM which is what you are using now,Another thing also, some ROMs require an unlock BL but some DO NOT require unlock BL as long as the rom is a stock kernel based rom..BTW they will always mention it whether a rom is intended for Unlocked or locked Bootloader... ROOT is very important. If you do not want to mod your phone and mess it, still it's okay You can just simply root and install cracked apps, and destroy a game by cheating, saving your battery by controlling the cpu and freezing system apps that is on background those few things can only be done when you are rooted. I am not ENCOURAGING EVERYONE to install cracked apps an mess a game, Please support the developers, they deserve it. Visit XDA developers for more info. Use the search bar to look for your phone's appropriate forums/discussion thread.

Cool phone for me.. So far after my update to Jellybean it becomes more responsive. Battery life is okay, well it actually depends on how you are using your phone, if you use it more on games of course it will drain your battery much faster. Also tried suing it on fresh water and Salt water, Haha! Still functioning well.

i am from phils too, acro s is more sturdy than v, higher battery capacity on paper compare to v. the only thing that v had advancement is its mobile bravia 2 engine but i dont think it has brought a huge difference. specially after the jellybean update, acro s had become more responsive and less frequent of lagging. charging dock if of the most valuable accessory keeping the ports cover intact so maintaining its ingress protection level. acro s is a well planned and supported mobile from sony hardwarewise.

well your lucky man...but never immerse it again on salt water if you want it to last. If I am using it on the beach I do not immerse it on water..sprays are tolerable but immersion, is not safe.. If you want to immerse it on salt water you can put a water resistant skin on it,just like on the s3,since it will not corrode plastic....It's like a condom for your phone...so that it will not be infected by HIV =)..immersing it on salt water without protection is a suicide. Watch this it's a skin that makes phone water resistant

Here is my opinion (Using this phone from January) READ FOR SOME USEFUL TIPS ABOUT UPDATING TO JB AND USING THE PHONE! One of the best device you can get on your hand! Every function is at the best level! Great finish and nice design! Black color unit is a beaty! Camera features also at the best level with good light (Coz these aren't DSLRs)! Video quality is same as described above! Even in the dark good with flash! Used this phone in a POOL more than 20mins (not completely emerged) for camera purposes! Even I wash the phone when the display becomes oily because of use! (when water goes to the earphone above the display leave it for 10 minutes because water doesn't goes in but due to wetness when calling hear a low sound than normal, so let it dry) Other than that no water problem can use in any rain without that problem!(it's not a problem) My unit have a 1 dead pixel but ok great display with BRAVIA and I can't even see the dead pixel so before you buy check it out! Some times charge the phone 2s a day because of heavy DATA TRAFFIC activities and normaly 1 charging per day is enough for my normal usage! And even I have used this phone for 3days and 6h with data traffic (just used to check fb). I dont care about using when charging and unplugging when charging and even shut down and charge, I do anything due to my need! As a habbit I always kill apps after using apps! And thats all about it! Sony, so nothing to worry about! 1 of the best phone in the market! I wanted to buy a Galaxy S4 because of its cool features but still using this because of S4 plastic played out design!waiting for S5 with a cool design! Feel confident to use this phone anywhere because of it's look and water resistance feature.! good way to update to JELLY BEAN is bellow! 0 - Check the PC for virus 1 - Charge the battery upto 100% 2 - Take SD out and put data into pc and format 3 - Do a factory data reset 4 - Update to Jelly Bean 5 - Start phone and do a factory data reset 6 - Put back the SD and format WELL IT FEELS LIKE A FRESH UPDATE!!

salt water is different from tap water, never put your phone on salt water because it can corrode any types of metal...even a pool water since it is salty, salt water speed up corrosion. Even a stainless steel when immersed to salt water it will corrode. A tiny amount of salt water entering your phone is very delicate because it will corrode it's parts and will hardened if not dried that's why it is not advisable to put it on salt water...Your phone is now grounded I guess because of salt water. sorry to say man but your phone now is a zombie...It can be never be fixed again unless they replace the corroded parts. The worst that might happen is that battery will explode due to grounded parts and eventually your battery will swell if that happens that is a sign that your phone is grounded because of salt water,..Bring it to service center immediately before corrosion eat the parts completely

actually, i was able to use this phone at the beach twice. we took pictures under water.. videos under water and its been two months since i use it in salted water.. until now its working perfectly. the only problem that i encountered with this phone is when i upgraded it to jelly bean,is the video, it hangs/logs. nothing else. i hope that sony will be able to address and resolve this particular concern of their customers.

Hello Ever since my Jelly bean update on my Xperia Acro S I have had the following problems:- Camera does not respond, even third party camera. Might work after phone reboot. Walkman app also fails to respond or play music Album app fails to open all pictures, some just show as blank boxes Phone refuses to shut down, will show the shutting down msg for over 5 minutes until I press volume up and power button. The notification area disappears at times, home screen and apps take up full screen. Hi guys, I updated my acro s to JB by flashing. Got the tft file from XDA. I say the ICS was better in terms of battery saving. My phone won't last a day now. I have to charge it in mid-day. Also if i open an app/doc like pdf file and I press the home screen all the icons inside the folder (homescreen) are blank, then after few seconds they will appear as if they were still loading. The rest are much better than ICS. Love the small app, so handy. I don't know if it was the tft file i used thats causing this problem. So far there are no updates yet here in UAE as per other users.

it's really anoying..the backup and restore on JB has no option of restoring an individual app from a backup record...if you try to restore just an app you can not because all of the content of the backup will be restored!..Sluggish video recording, and Poor battery life!!wasted my time..reverting back to ics...I hope they fix it asap. especially the backup and restore.

Even though I am a Lumia 920 user, I have to say, Xperia Acro S is the most balanced and long term Android phone out there in practical usage scenario. You can get a better CPU + RAM in other phones but this phone is really balanced. It has a retina quality screen which gives really good legibility when using. Water and dust proof which actually comes handy in cities where it rains a lot unexpectedly. I have real world experience with this. 16 GB inbuilt memory is a lot for installing apps on Android for most users. Not everyone install heavy games etc. Another 16 GB can be used in MicroSD slot for saving pictures, music and videos only. 720p front camera is very handy for skype. If you don't like the OS, install a custom ROM.

-open backup and restore, select the backup destination(internal if you want to store it on the internal sd card the 11gb partition, if you use sd card it will be stored to your external sd card) - select data types, and mark everything. -hit backup and wait for it to finish after you update your phone -open backup and restore again and then select the "record you want to restore" and select your saved backup the name of the saved backup is the date you created it -hit restore and wait for it to finish. BTW you must have enough space on your storage because it will take a lot of space if you have a lot of apps.it can take up to 2gb of space(maximum), since it will only backup the 2gb partition on your internal memory.

If u store it on internal memory it will be stored to the internal memory card..but if u use but if you use rhe sd card it will go to the external mmc.just use it and mark everything...all your contacts,messages and apps will be fine..after u backup just restore from your backup.. When you update your phone or flash it only the 2gb partition will be wiped everything fron the internal sd card will remain...

Just updated Acro S in Sri Lanka and quite satisfied. Recommend to use "SONY Update Service" PC program to update rather than PCC. just use the backup and restore by sony..everything will be fine....but do not wipe anything from the internal MMC.since some apps data and files are installed on that directory,,/sdcard/android/data and OBB folder espcially the HD games....no need to be rooted and no need to use TB(titanium backup)

I Also had a Xperia Acro S. My phone usually heats up when using wifi or playing heavy games(temple run, candy crush etc) 10-20 mins and my battery drains very quite quickly. I think this is normal for the phones that uses dual core proccessor consumes twice the power for it is feeding two hungry cores. When on idle mode or just texting and music well its ok so guys no need to worry about the battery life for we are not using a CELLPHONE but a SMARTPHONE. The battery life depends on our usage. What to do with ram drainage? This is android problem but I am experiencing it on my Xperia. After some time, the available (600 and some Mb) of ram memory comes down to 100 or 50Mb. I have installed a lot of apps (in order to take full advantage of android market) but this problem now is independent on the number of apps or the storage memory. i have used mu acro s several times when i were in the philippines for vacation. what i did is, if you want to take a photo, first press halfway the shutter button , then bring it to the water and press it fully . and if you want more shots , just press the shutter again without doing the initial step. Same thing when you want to take a video, go to video mode then press record and bring it to the water and it will work fine. I enjoyed this phone but be sure the caps or the lids are close tightly before going into the water.

(10-5% remaining battery and not straight, most of the time it is on standby mode) -do not have any battery saver app and task killer if I reduce it to level 3 I got a 6 hours of screen time 4 hours on web browsing(that's straight and no games). that is already acceptable for me. Actually all smartphone gets hot when in use. before you open another application check your phone if there are running applications on your system. because most of the time we tend to forget to close the application properly that makes the phone hot and the battery easily gets drain. when my phone gets hot i always wash with running water just to cool it down. and you know what.... it is effective. try it!!!

yeah you still admit it that it still lag. I am right?..minor or major it still lag. even IOS lag or even windows. That's why you need a powerful hardware to minimize lag but actually you can never ever eliminate a lagging effect. There's no such thing in this world. S2 and acro s are par on each other in terms of performance execept for the GPU the s2 mali 400 is slightly more powerful than the acro s adreno 220.

Well, the camera is as good as the S2 (at least my father's was as good as the S2 and the quality is great!). Video recording is sweet, just that the colours are not that vivid as they should be for a 13mp camera, which dissapointed me... The sound quality didn't impress me much (headphones always solves the problem lol). Right at the moment the phone is not with me (sold) so I won't be able to send you pics... More or less it depends on if you're lucky or not and the place you are going to buy it from. You know that if you have any issues (annoying ones) you can always install a custom rom which solves the issues. If you want sth more, just ask :)

On a S2 you can always convert internal/external storage memory to ram memory really easy. Plus the s2 is made in a almost perfect way, so lags are possible. If there ase some lags, they will will be minor ( small ones and not important at all).

Well they are both almost the same thing. The x v works a bit smoother than the acro s, but some ppl, not just here, complain that the xv overheats, tho my father's didn't. I played a lot on it and it never overheated. The acro s lags from time to time (mostly minor lag) but i don't think that a problem rly. The battery of the xv is pretty good, I mean that it can last 6 h of heavy usage (gaming) or that's how long it lasted with me. The other things rely on personal opinion. Hope I helped you

Yes, you are the only one asking this. Apps are saved to internal SD card (16 GB) by default. If you add your ext SD card you should use it for pictures and video since the read speed is much higher on internal SD card whereas write speed can be higher on ext SD card (if you use class 10 card like me). Higher read speed is preferable for accessing apps and data. Higher write speed is good for full HD video recording.

You must have got a refurbished one sold as brand new. Maybe you got a lemon manufactured in Hongkong or China, although mine came from overseas as well and working fine... All phones are like that. Sometimes you just wind up with defective phone. The phone itself is really good. The review gsmarena provided is so accurate. The battery life could've been better, it doesn't have 4g connectivity and it's not quadcore, but it's a balanced performer. I really like this.

Camera on this phone is extraordinary. Two things I dont like are no burst mode and autofocus is slow. This phone has a macro mode (you can shoot pictures very close to the object). Now that I have installed 100 apps I hate to upgrade it to JB and do everything again. This OS works fine for me. If I play games normally, little web surfing, taking some pics and HD videos and several messages then battery lasts for two days. The trick is in battery saving mode.

you don't need to do that, there is a way to boot when there is a trouble with this phone, hold power button and the up volume at the same time then it will be boot for you...but since i use this phone, there is no trouble at all so far

The phone at the side consists of a slot and we should insert the sim card from that particular slot. Also for the memory card we have another slot and we cannot take the battery and there is no need for us to remove the battery either for inserting sim or memory card.

take a look at the design. they are pretty much the same regarding specs. the differences are: acro s does have a dedicated camera buton, which I appreciate, the xperia V has 13 MP camera, but after checking some tests on youtube, I saw that the sound of the video on V is lower. I bought acro s 2 weeks ago. I have to admit the battery life Ira rather short, but at least it lasts a day unless you spend too much time browsing web or playing games. No lags, no sudden restarts, you could complain about the size, weight, no 4G coverage, etc. but the best thing about this phone is there's nothing major that annoys you. Overall performance is excellent. The call reception is good. I can recommend this phone to anyone.

actuallly there is no big difference in the FW updates. But on .55 you will notice a battery drain improvement. It's up to you, but there is nothing to fear. you can root your phone also and reduce the cpu clockrate for a longer battery life..

It's water resistant. It cannot be put in water, only wet finger tracking and any liquid enters the phone, will void the warranty and will be considered as misuse. sorry but I did not get what you are trying to say... case 1: Are you trying to update your phone software Via OTA(over The Air)and can't get it updated?Is that what you are trying to say?..If that's your problem, and you can browse the internet using mobile data on your browser try to check this... settings> about phpone>software update>press the capacitive menu button>settings>network settings and check if via mobile network/WIFI is ticked. case 2: If you are trying to tell me that you can not update your phone software via wifi or mobile data because the phone says that there are no updates for your phone, maybe you are updated to the latest version which is 6.1.a.2.55, if not then check you phone SI number, If your phone is from hongkong you have to flash a different FW version from another country/region.

It is better to wait for the official jellybean,..Don't install custom roms on your phone since most of the CFW available for acro s are buggy..Unlocking the BL will also void your warranty, Relocking it to regain warranty will not return the lost DRM keys. It's not a very good idea to install a unstable rom, specially when you do not know what you are doing you can brick your device. If you want to use a cool ui there are a lot of launchers in the market. Acro s is not a very popular device that's why I am encouraging people here to vote for acro s. The more popular it is the more developers/hobbyist will support it, that implies, more Custom rom,more chances of bugless rom and a great rom. I suggest that you start by rooting and don't proceed on unlocking the BL. Just wait for the official jelly bean. Actually you don't actually need a custom rom what is important is that you are rooted.

Correction. Acro s does not have the DRAGONTRAIL glass. It has some mineral scratch resistant glass. So, its probably back to changing the glass protection sheets.

The shatter proof sheet can be scratched so easily. But when you remove that sheet you get a scratch resistant glass (dragon tail me thinks). That glass is like gorilla glass. Uf what a relief!

The phone's performance is a bit buggy. I've had mine for almost 6 months, and am not pleased with the performance. The camera quality is alright, and somewhat similiar to my previous HTC Incredible S's 8 MP camera. Using the 12 MP option on the Sony is not always a good idea because the picture size is not wide-screen and doesn't eveen cover the phone's screen. The quick launch option is a mixed bag and works once every 2 or 3 tries. It IS waterproof and I tried it and it was good. But the phone freezes every now and then at times when I urgently need to execute a certain task like make a call. Not sure if this is a common thing across android phones, but I expect a bit more reliability out of a phone with this price tag.

Sorry to say that if you are planning on buying an xperia in Australia, I would think twice if you wanted Sony Ericson Service along with that. My new AcroS died literally, 3 weeks after buying it and had to send it to a contracted service agent "Fonebiz". No one in my state answered my calls so had to call Sydney. Told to send it down. Did that non 4th Feb 2013. after two weeks with my new phone I was told it would be in my post box in two days. Did not arrive so again I called Fonebiz in Sydney. Now im told the phone needed a part that is currently not available and 150 other customers are awaiting the same part for various models. So its off to sony Customer service Australia, who are in New Zealand and was told to fill in a complaint form that they eventually emailed to me the next day. Now today I spoke to the customer service boss called Sam ( also a contractor) who has given me nothing but belligerent remarks about how things take time and all companies use contractors & Quote"If your new car broke down you wouldnt expect it to be fixed any quicker. (Maybe thats the case in NZ) but not in Australia. They have had my new phone for 3 weeks. And they are useing "Contractors to hide there own lack of regard for the customer" Anyone want to buy a 1 mth old Acro S Cause I am Over Sony Ericson.
