Best mid range phone of 2013, to this day my Xperia C is working and never been faster. My only 2 issues are storage and non-upgradable Android to at least KitKat, but that's all thanks to MT6589 chipset. Every phone with that chipset has Android 4.2. A shame, but was/still a really good phone. Upgrading to 2019 Sony Flagship (XZ4 Premium probably when it comes out)

It's been 4years still using my xperia c and works like charm.the biggest advantage about xperia c is it's long lasting battery.I dropped it so many times but not even a Single crack in display.as already said by others front camera and 1gb Ram sucks a lot.Xperia c is immortal. No regrets no complaints.a happy xperia c user!

Really love this phone. I used it from early 2014 up until now. Strong screen protection(collapsed for almost hundred times but still ok), longlasting battery life, rarely hang. Its good. But now im searching for another fon coz this front camera is not so clear. Its hard to take selfie using back camera. Plus I cannot install obike coz this is the old version 4.2.2. And not forget the ram is too small (1gb only) I cannot install many apps. But overall im satisfied this fon not making me stress always(rarely hv problem) and it helps me a lot indeed!

In my experience Sony in general build really bad phones. The Xperia C is my third Sony phone and the third one to stop working. W880i cracked across the middle. W995 software issues. Xperia C stopped charging and I didnt even have it for a year from brand new. Since then I've switched brands and have no regrets. Sony builds other things really well, but for phones, look elsewhere.

there are several ways of upgrading your storage, you do know that this phone have a sd card slot right? of course it would kinda be worse if compared to other phones right now since this WAS PUBLISHED 4 YEARS AGO..... i dont know how old my phone is but its xperia c and it's working properly until now, even though i broke the screen half, broke the cover in half also, damaged the power button and lost the keys on volumes up and down (and then the power key button). it's fully functional. i'll admit, some sony phones dont excel in camera. each company has it's own struggles, why not take it easy on sony. sony is a durable phone, though it's literally a glass phone.. i would still use sony, it's my first option, second option for phones would be xiaomi.

I used this phone is more than 3 years now and I am still using it, I hate the size of internal memory though as it makes it difficult to install as many application as I like. But all in all I am happy and read for my next Xperia. You have to love Japanese quality

I have an issue with all sony mobile phones, why sony cover little space on screen with touch Screen buttons. if mobile come with 5-inch screen we can only use 4.5-inch screen. Though Sony is known for reliability their smartphones are outdated and expensive. Xperia C is no different. 4GB of internal memory hardly gives enough space for apps. There are some apps which cannot be moved to external memory. This model must be simply scrapped or must be used only for Somalian market!

I am using this mobile for 2+ yrs now. Can't believe why Sony has not discontinued this model. Paid solid 20k for this shit phone. First of all there was hanging issue where I had to drain out the battery completely and then recharge each time. Secondly the memory issue - unable to download any app as the internal memory is 1 GB which limits you to use it as smart phone. Complete waste of money.

Yes, you can root and use something like Link2SD to increase storage capacity. I've done it with my Xperia C. I'd recommend using a class 10 SD card for this.

I have this phone for 2 years - since July 2014 . The internal memory is very low and also the front camera is rubbish. Battery is good. Screen is good. No Crash at all. Speed is acceptable. It is made up of plastic and after 2 years of use it has some crashes on its back. Overall: go for a better one.

Hi I purchased this phone on 5 Jan 2014 and internal space is very bad. I can not download apps much as well as can not download in memory card even if I select memory card for further app download. First i thought really smart phone. But as i started using it, i faced many problems. Given memory is 2gb of which is 1 gp is system and 1 gp internal which means you can use only 1gp for installing apps . Most of the 1gp space has already been occupied by the apps installed by SONY which you can not alter. After 1 year of use, almost the whole 1gp is enough for updates only. System gets hanged due to this and i cannot install any more apps. 2. Sound quality and volume is very poor.Not even the vibration is good enough to enough to feel it. 3. I have enough space of external memory but i cant install apps and really regret for buying it. Strongly reccommend not to buy this as it is not worth money.

I bought this phone in May end, 2014. The phone is good looking but it has various limitation like internal storage problem being the biggest one. Here it is written 4GB but in actual its 0.98GB. I wonder how can someone provide such a misleading information. The phone worked fine for 8-9 months but then it started attracting problems, I couldn't download any app due to storage problem, keyboard doesn't work, it started to get hang oftenly and sometimes even the forceful power off didn't work. All I had to do was to press reset button using a needle provided in the phones back. Camera sucks now. I would recommend all you people not to go particularly by brand name. Because brands necessarily don't guarantee anything different. Average lifetime of any phone is 2 years (except an I-phone). So, you can consider buying LAVA, LENOVO, ASUS, XIAOMI etc if you are looking for a good phone under 15K because sony, motorola phones are not worth it. Their cost is high because of the brand name but they are not worth buying when we have companies like Lenovo, Xiaomi offering better performance at a lower price! Good day :)

I have this phone since December 2013, it has everything I need, the smooth cover on the back is half peeled off and now showing some shiny plastic behind it which is really ugly, the plastic sides also fell off, other than that the phone has no physical damage whatsoever although it had a few strong falls and I used it in heavy rain a few times. I have never felt the need to have a faster phone, makes me wonder what's the reason they make faster phones at all, however the 4gb internal memory is really bad, because no matter how big my sd card is I still need internal memory space to download and upgrade apps, but overall, it's worth every penny.

I've had this phone 2 years ago and I can say you're not really getting what you're paying for. The major problem I have is the storage capacity. You will have a nearly 1 GB worth of storage to download your apps for. Micro SD card is also optional but it wouldn't help if you're a gamer like me. I also did not like the camera at all.Things started to run pretty smoothly when I first got this, but know simple tasks start to lag like hell. It will have some pausing time and freezes afterwards. Design is great, but over time you'll notice some kinf of discoloration (I guess?) on the bezels.So, I wouldn't recommend a phone like this. I would just recommend an iPod 6th Generation over this. Here, both cost the same.

Hello, I have purchased Sony Xperia C in Jan 2014. This is the worst phone ever I have ever seen. Front camera is just waste. And main problem is that even internal memory is 300 mb then also we can not download even 1 to 2 mb softwares from Android phone. Instead I have Nokia Lumia 720 it is very very fast and touch is very good, So now latest phones with high internal memory is more than 2gb then there will be no question of buying this waste phone. The price of this phone when I brought was around 20k, Now it is equivalent to Rs.5000/- of any China mobiles. Only I am using this phone because of android applications which was downloaded earlier. Sony company would have thought to provide minimum 1 gb ram and minimum 1 mp front camera since the rate of this phone was about 20k.

Am using xperia c from march 2014. and am satisfied by this product and its still working good. and i will definitely recommend this brand. The only problem in this models is its 4gb storage and its vga front camera. Apart from this two thing the phone is perfect. It has good battery backup and during this last 1 year 8 months it hanged for couple of times only. Played asphalt 8, mortal combat-x, injustice gods among us, etc and these games worked fine somethimes tkaes time to load but during game play it works perfect. If your r not worried about selfies and running too much apps its a good choice.

Hi jagdish, I have been using xperia C since Dec 2013. And I feel, except for the front cam, everything else is great. Your device memory issue for installing apps can be simply sorted by any PC/mobile expert (anyone in family too) by a simple root process. Internal memory will be allocated then to device memory. Thus allowing to download or update apps essily. No data/contacts or anything would be lost. I too faced device memory issue but now m damn content as my cousin solved it by a root. And there is no need to invest in a new phone. Cheers.

Hi Guys, just wanted to post a small review on seeing the below reviews. This phone was released 2 years ago and at that time this phone was a great one as 4GB internal memory was a good number. Yes, we don't get full 4GB memory to access though as some of it is used by OS. The most awesome feature of this phone is the performance and charging. It never get strucked though you are running many apps at a time. I've been using this from 12th Oct 2013. Huge drawback is that you cannot update or download/install apps directly from play store(updated) if your internal memory is less than 100MB. If you want to update/download the apps, try to clear some unwanted data from other apps and try to uninstall updated play store and update the required from older version of playstore. May be this is useful to some :)

Always clean the cache data once in a day. Go to settings > storage > click on cached data and clean cacahed data both interanl and external memory ( some times it would b 100+ nd after cleaning it fall down to 2-3 mb only)

its good as per the performance,it will not get hanged.But its showing running out of memory,even after all the movable apps are in sd card.U cant update the apps because of this issue.Front cam is worst. Bluetooth was not working properly sometimes. Not able to download apps from play store,it shows some kind of error.Back cover (Plastic) having a bend on center.Headset is not good.Sometimes the images n videos will appear or disappear after plug the pen drive.

I lost the phone on 09th May 2015. Good I lost the phone because the internal memory available was only 0.98 GB though the specs say 4GB ROM. No updates are possible because no memory space is available. You cannot download new apps because of no space. Only option is to root the phone and move apps to the SD card to make space. But this voids the warranty and drains the battery faster while making the phone susceptible to viral attacks.

Guys sony is fooling people by providing such a low specification phone at high price with some or the other issue with it. Guys, please do not buy Sony Xperia C handset. I purchased it for Rs 18700 & after 1 year 2 days my handset started getting hang & restart repeatedly. I visited sony service center immediately. They said me that it will not come in the warranty & it is chargeable. I got frustrated & asked them that its only about 2 days past the warranty period. But they were not ready to hear my words. They said that we cannot accept it even if it is 1 day past the warranty period. Later i said to go ahead with the repair. After 4 to 5 hours they called me & said that the estimation cost would be Rs 7500. I was totally shocked to hear it & asked why is it so. They said that the mother board has been crashed & suppose to be replace with a new board. In that 1 year period i have handled my handset very carefully. Not even a single time i have dropped my cellphone down. By this i got realised that we should not spend more money on the brand handset. We should look after the cheap and best smartphones. So please do not buy any of the Sony brand mobiles. They are cheating the people.

Im also using this phone for 9 months....nice n good for me Pros- Very good battery life with stamina mode.approx 2400 mAh Good rear camera -fine picture quality with 8 mp flash led. with exmor r & hdr n other common features,led flash is good and can process normal picture quality even at low light. Full hd recording with 30 fps(perfect at day light) Phone dosent heat up easily while frequent use and and graphics supports many hd games such as modern combat 2,3,4 and 5,asphalt 8 adrenaline & latest hd games till date. Good sound quality with x loud. Built quality is tough,slim,squarely and sexy. Used for almost a year but never lagged from my personal experience and can still compete with newer phones till date. Cons- Problem is that front camera sucks but u can alwae use the primary camera's self portrait function or click with the dedicatd camera button. Unexpected for Sony to use cheap Mtk chipset with cortex a7 processor with more memory cache but heats up very slow compared to costlier snapdragon processors. Phone memory should be atleast 8 gb for such a price tag which results in limiting installation of apps No nfc support, but still we can use throw function. Fixed battery(Sony style) Supplied headphones is so cheap for such price...thought of burning it. Buliit cover is matte plastic which is likely to get scratch. No supplied pc suite so u have to install from phone through internet. Inbuilt video player does nor support all video formats so third party player is needed such as vlc n mx player. All in all phone is awesome n I still didn't regret that I choose xperia c......perfect for me

The internal storage problem your facing with Xperia C is clearly Google's fault and not Sony's. The latest version of Google Play restricts any update or installing apps if your internal storage drops below around 120mb. Follow these steps, it worked for me: 1. Go to settings, then Apps, choose All. Now choose apps that you don't use at all. Clear data, cache and uninstall updates. I uninstalled updates on my Google Play Services and my Youtube since the default version works fine. 2. Don't update Album, Movies, Walkman, Chrome unless you use those. I only updated my Walkman since I use it a lot. Use Quickpic as your gallery, MXplayer for movies, UC Browser as your browser instead. All of those apps are movable to SD card. 3. If you use Facebook or Instagram a lot, clear data and cache as well. 4. Install Clean Master. 5. Install SLW Storage widget to monitor your internal storage more easily. Use clean master once you see your internal storage is below 120 mb. 6. Open Play Store, go to settings/Auto-update apps then choose the option "Do not auto-update apps". Only update apps you use. Although I use Youtube a lot, I use the default version instead. Currently, my Xperia C still got 200mb of available internal storage and I don't face the error anymore. Just remember not to let your internal storage drop to 120mb. Hope this helps.

I also having problems with insufficient memory when trying to update or install app. After few times, i figure out one of the solution is by deleting picture in vsco apps (if you install it). Save the pic that have been edited in gallery first, then delete the picture. Really work to solve the problem. Make sure after deleting, go to setting >> apps .To make sure the phone memory have been refresh. And always try to clean up cache by using any apps in playstore.

This Phone is just like hell. You can not install new app/Games even you can not update yours apps its show insufficient memory. Xperia C have 4 GB internal memory but it is of no use. more then 3 GB memory is occupied by OS and Apps. You cant not uninstall in build apps. Phone is crap. Like what other reviewers said, it has only 1Gb storage space left, so you pretty much can't download any app. Phone kept on lagging even after factory reset. Front camera could have had better resolution. Back camera is unreliable - good some of the time, terrible the other. Shame, really, because this is my first Sony phone and I'm afraid because of how crappy it is overall, it's very well going to be my last Sony phone as well.

I used to dislike the camera of this phone but after installing Camera FV-5, the picture quality has greatly improved. Noise level is minimized and focusing became a bit faster, so I suggest you install this camera app instead of using the default camera app. Also try installing Perfectly Clear. It's the best photo editing app I know for android. It lessens noise level even further and smoothens skin tone for portraits. This app really works. Both apps are not free on playstore, but you can try finding cracked apks on google. Hope this helps.

I bought Sony Xperia C January 2014 am really not happy about the phone and the service am receiving frm Sony . In April the phone just went off and it wasnt powering up yet the battery was fully charged then I returned the phone to the shop they repaired the phone and brought it back mind u i t takes abt 3-4 weeks without a phone.In August it did the same, September., October and December .It has been returned for the fifth time and they are not prepared to give me the new handset but am prepared to take the matter further cos am sick and tired of all this.

Many complain that it has got low internal memory. Actually it has 4 GB but user gets around 1GB of internal memory. However U can make it upto mark by inserting a class 10 memory card. Back camera is good. The HDR comes in handy during strong backlight. Front camera is ok. Design is excellent. Processor is fast. High end games can be played easily. It doesnt stuck. Only sim 1 supports 3G. sim 2 supports only 2G. No 4G support. Battery life is excellent. Earphone provided with this set is really good. Multitasking lags a bit. Notification bar is really disappointing. The screen supports HD and is good. Totally what i would say is its a good phone and give a user rating of 8.5 out of 10

first make sure that you put in your sim card on the sim slot 1. sim1 can use WCDMA(3G) and GSM while the sim2 slot can not use 3G. after that go to Settings>wireless and networks>mobile networks> select sim>network mode and change it to WCDMA only make sure you have 3G data enabled on sim1 only. -if that still didn't work then there could be two reasons. 1.) the 3G frequency band of your network/country is not compatible with the phone's band. 2.) your carrier network may have a poor 3G signal in your area.

It has a 4gig onboard but after all the apps and software is loaded you the owner is left with a gig of space. However the C3 makes up for the disappointments of the C. Another phone to look at is the M2, similar is size and features.

It's because u have updated your album with the latest version. Even i have done the same thing. I thing the latest version is not properly programmed. uninstall your updates and then delete the pictures, it will delete from the root file.

Looks are good. Main camera is not worth of 8 MP. Quality of photos is poor. Also, camera is too slow. There is a problem with updating apps. Though it is showing 130 MB free space, apps of 30 MB like Google chrome can't be updated. Total disappointment in that case.

It could be a good phone, nice display and UI but the internal storage only allows you 0.98 GB of storage and rear camera is very slow resulting in blurred photos especially when subject is moving.

This experia c i found its ok not a prob, internal storage for apps is low but you can make it more by disable the inbuilt apps then you will get more space and also dont install unwanted apps like battery or etc.. actually the battery of the mobile good and healthy even it's working 24hrs with dual sim with data. Regarding camera normal but you can change the pixel 8 by setting and change the mode to night always then it's giving good performance so for i not use the front cam so i will update later.

Camera of the phone is very bad. you cannot expect a good picture even in a day time of moving objects. don't think to take pictures in night time. u can shoot picture only of immovable properties. secondly the app storage is very limited. user defined allocation of memory option should be available. At this price, more good options are available in the market. I think it is my big mistake to buy the sony mobile phone. I have search on US site and sony is not selling the Xperia C mobile phone in US. It is outdated mobile. my overall opinion :- please don't waste your money on sony mobiles.

It's the Video that you are taking about. If you switch it to Camera mode, then you have variety of options as 8M or 5M or lower. Hope that helps and if somehow you are not able to analyze, how to switch to Camera Mode, then check with an Experienced person.

I have been using Xperia C since the past 10 months... all worked fine untill, off late, there is internal storage problem. Any new app I want to download, the internal storage doesn't seem to be enough. I feel it's too poor on part of the manufacturer to provide such low device memory, especially, when the buyer is shelling off a considerable amount of money to buy this phone. I feel I could have gone with some of the other alternatives in the same price bracket.

I have Xperia C as my phone and i don't see any problem on everything since i rooted it and installed Link2SD. I have a lot of apps and i may have already used all of my system or internal memory if not only with Link2SD. I suggest to install that App and root your phone to avail the best experience :))

Hi Anjali, Probably, you're pertaining to other partition of the internal storage. Xperia C has a total of 0.98 GB of device memory and a total of 1.20 GB of internal storage. The device memory is allocated for system apps and cache, while the other internal storage is for videos, music and photos. (Which in my case unused) Just to make things clear, you need to have at least 120 mb of available DEVICE MEMORY to update and download apps again from Google Play. I just hope Sony will release a firmware update that will change the partition to 1.5 Gb of device memory and 500 mb of internal storage to solve this problem. If you update Google Play Services, you'll notice that it's the one that eats up too much memory. I still suggest you uninstall the update and use the default youtube app.

Hi Sonu, The internal storage problem your facing with Xperia C is clearly Google's fault and not Sony's. The latest version of Google Play restricts any update or installing apps if your internal storage drops below around 120mb. Follow these steps, it worked for me: 1. Go to settings, then Apps, choose All. Now choose apps that you don't use at all. Clear data, cache and uninstall updates. I uninstalled updates on my Google Play Services and my Youtube since the default version works fine. 2. Don't update Album, Movies, Walkman, Chrome unless you use those. I only updated my Walkman since I use it a lot. Use Quickpic as your gallery, MXplayer for movies, UC Browser as your browser instead. All of those apps are movable to SD card. 3. If you use Facebook or Instagram a lot, clear data and cache as well. 4. Install Clean Master. 5. Install SLW Storage widget to monitor your internal storage more easily. Use clean master once you see your internal storage is below 120 mb. 6. Open Play Store, go to settings/Auto-update apps then choose the option "Do not auto-update apps". Only update apps you use. Although I use Youtube a lot, I use the default version instead. Currently, my Xperia C still got 200mb of available internal storage and I don't face the error anymore. Just remember not to let your internal storage drop to 120mb. Hope this helps.

Hi sony xperia c users,present of here peoples may have internal storage problem.don't worry just follow as it below. 1. Take backup and just reset your phone. 2.After reseting goto your playstore application. 3.sign in into it. 4.Signing in is completed means just goto your option in playstore and find auto update option afterthat just turnoff it. 5.Now default application won't be updated thats why internal storage size will not increase. 6.Finally just move all installs application to SD card now your phone have lot of space. Note:After completing this process if you want to install any more application means don't forget move it to SD card.

I've had this phone (C2305 dual sim) for around 10 months now. I used to own Sony's around 10 years ago when the flagship 'Walkman' phones were brought out and they were awesome. I bought this because I wanted a dual sim phone and there are TOO many Samsung's to choose from so I looked elsewhere. Like other reviewers I found the internal memory issue renders the phone fairly useless. I don't install a lot of apps and remove the ones I don't use and have no games and it still took less than six months to fill. After about 5 months the phone didn't recognize the sim card. I bought a new 32GB card and it was okay but now it has this problem a couple of times a month. Also recently (about the last month) when it happens the phone goes into screensaver mode and doesn't come out of it for hours or until the battery runs down, when it does it loses my settings and may or may not find my photos and MP3s. The support from Sony has been awful and it is largely neglected. It seems they don't care about mid range customers or in sorting any of the considerable number of faults with this. In all I thought this phone was amazing value when I bought it, now I don't think it will last a year. DON'T BUY IT get a real phone not a mid range one even if on paper they are the same.

This is the first android phone that i bought.I am completely dissatisfied with the phone for the below reasons 1. Available memory for installing apps: other brand phones offer 2.84 GB for apps. But here available is 0.98 GB which is very insufficient. 2.Camera- Very slow processing. Cant click moving things and most of the time, images are blurred Picture sharpness is very less. Color noise. Front Camera could have atleast been 2MP as other brands are now-a-days offering 5MP. 3.none of the service centers are providing sufficient solution for these issues. As i had a craze of clicking pics, i am completely dissatisfied with its camera performance. I expected a lot from SONY on this phone as i took a very long time to decide and finally bought this. Instead i could have bought a Motorola or an Indian Brand Phone like Micromaxx I will not recommend anyone to buy this phone. I am not even feeling like selling this worst phone to anyone. SONY company should atleast try to replace the phones to all the customers who have bought these phones

Try this: 1.reset your phone to factory setting 2. insert memory card, a pop-up notifications. (Application memory change Default memory for application has been changed to SD Card. Future applications will be installed in SD Card.) Hit that OK. and you don't have to worry again with your memory and applications.

Really disappointed with the data storage of this phone. There is nothing in the internal storage still can't move any applications, it says no enough space. Strongly recommend Xperia C if you want to frustrate with smart phone. This phone has all thing which frustrate you daily. 1. low device memory with lots of preloaded apps which consume device memory and cannot be removed. 2. Though 8 MP, Picture quality is very bad which you won't expect from Sony. 3. No use of VGA front camera.

Guys, Don't use any charger of other phones. Phone will get charged till 100% but after sometime your phone will get stuck or get switched off automatically, this is because the difference in charger voltage. Immense use of other chargers will cause your phone battery weak and less life time. At the starting times i have also used chargers of other phones when my charger is not available after couple of months phone got in a Off mode automatically. From that time onwards i am using my own sony charger till now phone is running in a safemode and have a good battery backup after updating the version 16.0.B.21.6.

Pros : 1. Decent battery backup 2. 1.2 Ghz Quad core processor on Mediatek Chipset Cons : 1. VERY low internal memory available for apps. This is seriously a deal breaker. 2. Poor camera performance both primary and secondary. Unless you use HDR mode, the camera doesnt pick up any details. 3. Low screen resolution. Ppi density is 221.

Was happy with this device in the beginning but now I'm gonna get rid of it.Will play a video fine one day and be permanently unable to play it later on resulting in me having to delet it.I've also recorded vidoes for a few minutes long but when I play it back it only recorded a few seconds and other videos it just didn't save at all.Apps that are sent to the SD card will work fine then when the phone's been off and I restart it,it can't open them anymore showing them as 0.00 mb in size.This device is pathetic and sony should be ashamed!
