Correction: There is a 'airplane mode, with the L3. But you do not find it in the quick pull-down mode menu dragged from the top of the phone where you find torch. You have to go to settings and go from there.

I had a problem with sim card recognition a few years on with the M2. Unreliable in that regarding requiring many restarts. The problem may not be common though; may have just been unlucky with a Monday morning one if you get my drift. Good all rounder, but dated in terms of sound quality and speed. The front camera is very poor quality, unlike the rear which is streets above it. It has an answering machine which is more than adequate. Radio fair-good, but not very good. Other Experias are doing better with radios. Good tough glass, separate microsd slot. It was brought out as a low cost Sony Experia which gave the look of the Z phone rage without being in Z phone. Sony tend to be music bias as they produce audio equipment such as stereos and own a record company with a lot on the phone about music, albums, artists, etc. It has a waterproof sister "aqua" , though I am not aware of how good this waterproofing is.Overall the M2: not bad at all for its day.

have it since it came out. still looks brand new. i have a hole in my wall from throwing it in a fit of rage. it can be used as a hunting tool or armor plating. best tool i ever had. still cant find replacement. considered cat s40-60 models but they are just ugly. also battery lasts for days if you dont play games but just talk, listen to music or read comics (as i do). if anyone has any knowledge of a similar but newer phone (it must be as tough as this one) please do share.

They are obviously lying to you. You can downgrade to the original Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Firmware (Global). Instructions - Xperia M2 USB Driver - 4.3 Stock Rom - Xperia Flash Tool - I'd suggest reading the instructions before starting this process, it's impossible to brick your phone so you will be 100% ok. It took me a lot of effort to find a D2303 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean ROM. Hope it works :)

i have this bad boy since October/November 2014-ish. pretty decent at the time. And back in 2016 and almost bricked the phone. Overall it is a great phone, the only drawback is the very very poor front camera quality. I can't remember posting a photo online that used the front camera, or maybe I never posted at all. 5/5 im super happy that it's still working. I'm now using it as audio player.

I've purchased this mobile in the year of 2014, frankly speaking this mobile is the best mobile is the best mobile from Sony that I've used in the past recent year's. The best part of this mobile is when I try to flash a new Android version which is stable, it doesn't matter whether it's Android OS V4.1 or Android OS V7.1 both the OS show the same performance, currently I'm using the 7.1 Nougat version in my mobile, trust me it's fantastic. But the only draw back is it doesn't come with 4G. other than that 'MY M2 IS A BEAST'.

Yes please do not update, do not update your M2. I made mistake, I updated my M to 5.1 and it took away huge resource 3GB of internal memory. It was better with the previous OS

I'm using M2 after some experience with E3. Although released earlier M2 has better hardware than E3 and so I'm happy. However, that advantage of more RAM etc has diminished when I upgraded the OS (it wasn't necessary at all). Sony support says no way to downgrade, I disagree.

Very consistent phone, durable (dropped it few times from my pocket) & the only phone I've ever owned with an impressive battery life. Still in good condition but with all those updates, it's starting to get slow. My new Xperia L1 (an alright phone) doesn't feel as solid as M2. Still misses my M2 sometimes.

I have had this phone since 2015. It still works just fine. There is not a scratch nor a crack on the screen, the Touchscreen works great still. And I have not been using gently to say the least. One time I dropped it in 50 cm of snow. Looked for I for 5 minutes And it worked fine.

Avoid like the plague it does not have a recovery mode. It just vibrates 3 times and does nothing. So if you have a password on it it's goodbye phone because you can't reset it if you forget it. Rest assured I will never buy or recommend Sony phones to anyone including my worst enemies.

I purchased this phone in may 2014, till now I enjoyed my phone company with no issues. The photo clarity is awesome, battery condition is always good. The music was fabulous in sony phones compared to others. Sony is best in camera and music. Now I am upgrading to Xperia A1 as M2 is 3G supported not 4G,less ram i.e., 1GB and low internal memory i.e., 8GB which results less apps maintainance . But I am missing my M2, hope A1 don't disappointed me.

I've used this phone for 3 years now (since 2017). The battery life is still awesome like day 1. Normal, heavy usage (fb, browsing, use as hotspot/tethering) can last me more than a day.. I even once left the phone idle for 4-5 days and the battery still is at 60-70% which is amazing for a 2300mah rated battery. never really bother to update to the latest android version since the space is really limited and I'm guessing it will make the phone lags in some apps. But the downside is, the phone can be erratic and have a mind of its own sometimes (suddenly restarted, freeze, battery level dropped and turned off, the sim card cannot be detected, and whatsapp frequently crashed).. But of course, happened only once or twice every half a year or so.. I guess i would still be using it till it rot if not because of that great battery life. I have another phone which is a lenovo a806 which rated its battery caps as 2300mah too, but only work for 8 hours or less and needs recharge, and yes, the phone is not even a year old yet! so SONY >all! would buy another sony for sure.

I have been using this phone for 3 years. And I am proud of this phone. The battery last longer unless if you use 4G network. It is quite durable and solid build smartphone. Good Stamina mode.Very nice features for mid range smartphone in 2014 ( I still remember Walkman :)). Of course, this phone is pretty outdated and offers only 1GB Ram. So, you cannot basically open the multiple task at the same time or the phone will lagging. The final updated Android for this phone was Android 5.1.1., whereas many smartphone nowadays offer you the latest Android update. The worst thing about this smartphone is front camera. Definitely not recommended for selfie lover. Sometimes, I cannot use this phone on outdoor due to the sunlight. The pixel is not that high, basically you will having some problem when messaging on outdoor. Charging the battery when using the phone can get overheating. The internal memory is very low, very dependable high storage on SD Card. You can use this smartphone for daily use, but I strongly recommend to pick other smartphones. Sony M2 software was already heavily outclassed by the competitors. Even Moto G4 provide a better stats with affordable price. 3GB Ram smartphone is become common nowadays. 1GB Ram smartphones no longer become relevant. But, I will continue to use Sony M2 because the battery life is awesome.

I have been using this phone for over 3 years now. I have to say that I've used it quite roughly over the years, and I have to say, the phone is pretty durable. Probably due to the rubberised edges. It's not the best with performance, but after two major software updates, I can say that the phone performs just as good as it did when I first got it. I haven't had any problems apart from the absolutely terrible front camera, and the pretty low internal storage space. It's a great phone but I don't believe it's suitable for you if you're looking to buy in 2017. However, it sure has kept to Sony's reputation of long lasting phones.

I used the M2 for little over 2 years. After about 1 1/2 years there was a issue with the sims. When I connect to my phone data, both sims stated to stop working and the network is not available. now even when the phone is on and i can see the network bars, if someone calls it says the phone is switched off and i get an alert after a while. From what i see, the problems in the M2 are mainly related to dual sims and network. other than that it's ok.

Well, after all I read about the "upgrade" issue, after months of doubt ,if im going to upgrade my Xperia M2, finally I've decided to do an upgrade and based on my experience, it was a success and features are all functioning well and it has gone way better than before. About Android 5.1 camera issue is not far than when it was on Kitkat. For me i dont expect that much from a midrange phone like this one than its high end brothers, just simply having the SONY logo on my phone is what im proud of. BTW the build number I have right now was 18.6.A.0.182.

I've had this phone for a little over a year and a half maybe 2. if your looking at getting it 2nd hand or new (if you still can) maybe stay away from updating it. the camera's performance had a noticeable hit with everything getting a "glow" post update. Sony improved it a few months later but it's never been as good as the day I got it. The price is attractive but I'd look at something else.

Been using this for 2 yrs now and the only thing that i like with this phone is the battery, its fast charging and durability. It can lasts for a day or 2 without charging with just a normal use. But the front camera is really bad,the phone lags and easily gets heat when playing games and using data/wifi. It is also a bit pricey.

i had this phone for 2 years and its not that great, it freezes often, overheats while charging and after long use, okay back camera, horrible front camera, wont let you download apps when there is still space. When you first get it its pretty good but after a while the problems will start, so if ur planning on using this longer than one and a half years its a no.

I think this phone is good for the price it was most definitely when you think its only 25% of the price of a z5 z3 at the time it was released was £500 and this m2 was only £100 its only 20% of the cost. You get most of the functionality ok camera is only 8mp not 21mp but is still very good it can run all apps and software good with no major slow down. My camera lens is totally scratched up easily but it doesn't effect the pictures I take they all come out like they did when it wasn't scratched. I rarely play games so I don't need the higher end phones beside this plays all the games I like which I have downloaded ridge racer, fifa, nova3, modern combat 3.

Worst phone I have had so far.Low battery life,I have 4 friends that have this phone (there was a sale in my town) and everybody's m2 has a faulty speaker.Its not a lie check on youtube.Also bad storage and even when there's 500 mb left ,it says you cant install apps because low storage.Bad front camera as well. After a few months my charging port broke too.Glass/plastic backing also collects all kind of scratches too.Bad phone overall

You must had the bad luck of getting an unit with somekind of manufacturing defects. I have mine for 18 months and not a single problem so far. And I don't care too much about it eirher, like I never use a protective cover or anything, it just goes in my pocket or topcase of the bike and gets turned around at every corner. It is so roughly treated that it was used under a heavy rain last October and water got beneath the screen. It naturally dried with time and no harm was done.

Do not buy if planning on owning for more than 1 year. The thing begins falling to pieces and malfunctions after 12 months. I have about 6 months left on my contract and need to take another contract out to replace this one, despite taking good care and having suitable phone cases covering it. In last year the charger slot has slowly died off, now I can't get it above around 60% charged before it simply disconnects with no way of getting it to charge again... You need to tangle is into all sorts of different angles and hope for the best. Eventually it begins to connect and disconnect every second which means your phone lights up and dims again constantly. More than once this has resulted in me waking up in the morning with a flat battery. Front camera is like a late 1990s webcam, rear camera is adequate.

Clearly you guys dont know how to use this camera! If you want better pictures , use Manual Mode! Once you select Manual Mode , dont chose any of those scenes e.g low light , sport etc... Just leave it in SCN. Then play with the white balancing thingys and try to chose the right balance. You wont regret it if you go pro! Thats why many phone tech sites praise Sony's Manual Mode. Its the best!!! Most of my pictures are shot in 5mp mode but still come out crystal clear just because i know how to play with Manual Mode (SCN) settings... you guys will thank me later. ENJOY!!!

The camera is useless in even moderately low light. It does get very slow with only a few apps open, basically in 2016 it's just not good enough if you want something newer save up for a Z3 compact.

Let be honest! This has to be the best all round smartphone in the world. Even tho it doesnt have flagship specs , i handles everything i throw at it. The ram is good , the camera is averagely-good. Superior Auto mode ruins my pics , so i opt for the manual 4:3 5megapixel for beautiful shots... I have never expienced these heating issues you talk about , unless am using it while it on the charger. Which i hardly do because battery is good , close to kit-kat battery if you know how to tweak your phone like what i did :) And the xperia UI? God , this UI makes other Android UI's look unfinished! Its so addictive , i mean... I DONT THINK I WILL EVER USE ANOTHER ANDROID PHONE besides SONY XPERIA! *Sigh* Man i could do this all day!!! lol... Sony, if you would make phones with big screens and not so much of a big body that would be nice. Too much space is wasted at the top & bottom. If was expanded, this M2 Aqua would be a 5" screen.

My camera got a lot better after the last update. Are you talking about the first update to lollipop 5.1.1 or the second release with camera and gps fixes? For me, this phone is great. Yes, it hasn't got the greatest camera in the world but it is a good one and I would love a faster charger and a gyro so that when I play Ingress the screen would automatically turn when I move (compass is not enough to do this on Ingress but it is enough on Google maps). Word of advice: if I would buy one again, I would go for the 16gb option, not the 8gb.

Big gains and losses for this phone. The performance and features (lots!) are mostly very good. The 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU handles most things easily and with good stability. Display is good (albeit slightly dark). Video quality is medium/good but prefers daylight scenes. The downside is the camera feature is poor (Sony cut corners: it's not a true 8MB still camera), and the latest Android release introduces previously non-existent issues regarding even worse camera quality together with a significant increase in battery draw. A shame really, as before the update I was really impressed overall. The device is also a magnet for finger prints etc, you really need a good lint-free cloth. If said problems can be ironed out this phone would be fantastic.

got this phone for my mom's birthday and she loves it! her old phone used to be those type of cellphones from like i don't know the 90s? haha, the phone is nice and so far we haven't experienced any lag or issues! camera quality is decent. And I Would definitely recommened this for elderly people since the screen is quite big and easy to see and navigate through, and i would also recommened this for people getting their first phone since it's cheap and such a good quality for it's price! :D

I just update my xperia M2 to firmware version 18.6.A.0.182 (Android version 5.1.1). FINALLY, Sony fixed the camera issue! Im so impressed. The camera become much better. I really satisfied with this version even the front only VGA but its improved. Actually, I'm planning to return back my M2 to supplier and upgrade to the other smartphone. I update to Lollipop it bootloops, root or not, unlocked bootloader or not, upgrade or flash ftf, with emma and pcc or flashtool. Lollipop does not work at all. Nothing but bootloops for me!

Try using sony pc companion. U can see if theres an update.

U can update using pc through sony pc companion. Its easier and it gives full features of the phone. Before, i updated thru ota (over the air)/ (over wifi), my phone doesnt detect my memory card, the camera lowers resolution. So i advise updating it thru pc companion, but you must have strong wifi connection, its safe and gives full features of the update.

overall the gadget is quite amusing, and pretty much can handle heavy games, but anyway all i can say is that u better not to upgrade too much, i stays on kitkat and being on kitkat gives me some problems with lagging and sometimes the mobile turn off by itself. if u still want to upgrade to better version like lollipop try from the mobile, only if u are experience enough that u may try upgrading from PC since sometimes upgrading from PC is risky, if u failed then just say good bye to your phone. just a little bit advice, better to stay kitkat at max, having lollipop on M2 is like having a big fish on a small pond. :) if u know what i mean.

It depends. Some versions of M2 are LTE enable and some versions are not. E.g. D2303 is, D2305 is not, but both of them are Xperia M2.

Installed the update and I can say that the camera seems to be doing better. I don't think it's like KitKat level but still better than the previous build. To be honest I'm a bit disappointed - I guess I expected too much and that the camera performance would be back like it was in KK.

on the lower border of phone...the metal vand is removable.where the speaker hole and microphone hole is there..that is a thin plastic band with metal plating...just pull n remove it and throw it.mic problems is because that lower border plastic metal band over speaker and mic is clogged with dust after 1 year and reduces speaker volume amd mic volume.u removed it 6 months ago and the speaker is louder than phones having 2 speakers.i recommend everyone to do the same.my m2 beats htc boomsound phones now!

I bought this phone initially for the good camera and music player, but after updating to Lollipop 5.1.1. the camera quality has lowered to the point where I can't take photos on my phone without them resembling the type of quality you'd expect from a much older phone with a 2MP camera or lower. Not only that but my phone is struggling to connect to any internet, and in most cases will disconnect after roughly 2 minutes when it /does/ connect. I can no longer successfully use my phone half as much as I used to. Is there a way to revert back to KitKat at all? If not, please could Sony try to fix these issues??

My xperia M2 has the android lollipop upgrade installed and II have not experienced any problems with either the phone or camera. I did carry out a factory reset after updating and then installed my apps. My experience has been that it is an excellent phone with a good build quality.

I can't deny about your opinion on sound either in headphone or speaker bcus kitkat version more loud and clear.The back camera quality when zoom in(the quality look like painting) I also agreed with you but I guess the quality still not to bad bcus i still can read a letter on a piece of paper even i zoom in.. I suggest you to try.About the sound i more prefer kitkat version but when I turn max volume,the sound of speaker turn burst thats make me more interested to listen music using earphones..

But you forgot comparing sound quality especially in headphone, kitkat deliver more loud and clear sound both from speaker and headphone. I tried factory resetting my m2. 6-7 hours ago, the battery was 59%. I put it in heavy use. Now, the phone is 17%. Battery problem is a common issue when upgrading to lollipop. Make sure that you are not updating any app when updating to lollipop. Make sure that you update the os first before apps. It works.

The things I don't like about this phone is the low memory and sharpness, poor camera and battery after the 5.1.1 update. Don't upgrade if you don't want these problems. But overall, it is a lot snappier and a better performer than galaxy a8. I have been using this phone for more than one year but the new galaxy a8 lags like 3 times more. I'm happier with xperia m2 than galaxy a8.

I have had my Sony Xperia m2 for around a year and half now and bought it mainly for its camera. Up to the recent update the picture quality was exceptional, however after installing 5.1.1 lollipop I have seen a huge diminish in the picture quality that I am receiving. The photos are overly sharp and painting like with a poor colour quality. If anyone has any idea of how this will be fixed, I would appreciate a response.

a word from sony on camera issues after lollipop update: With the latest Lollipop software, 18.6.A.0.175, the sharpness has been increased which makes the picture more clear and sharp when displayed on the phone or a PC with fitting to the screen size. The trade-off of increased sharpness is losing details, the pixel details are sacrificed when zooming in. But this will not be seen during normal display with screen size, only when users zoom in to more than actual picture size. You can back to kitkat by flashing Xperia m2 kitkat firmware using flashtool on your computer. There's lot of xm2 firmware in Xperiafirmware site. There's also a tutorial to flash. I already back to kitkat from lollipop it work, nothing bad happen.

I wanna share my opinion about the difference lollipop and kitkat. Pros:In lollipop the UI is more cool and unique, camera focus has been improved faster and accurate, also it capture photo faster than kikat, More friendly ram usage. Cons: camera focus is better and accurate but the photo quality is worst especially when you zoomed it,speaker and headphone sound is low, battery life has been decrease, brightness setting has bug. Mine already downgraded to kitkat bcos kitkat was better. It's up to you to upgrade to lollipop or not. But i suggest its better to stay on kikat. Let's just hope Sony will fix all lollipop bug.

The camera had this bad look (like they add a lot of sharpness) in the begining but they corrected that in an update. We're back with this bad looking pictures, i hope they correct that again... I tried with other camera apps, and there is the same bad look.

Yeah...sadly you are right, the Lollipop update on the M2 sucks. I had the phone for almost a year with KitKat and was the near perfect phone for me. Now, it kinda annoys me every day. I don't know how many updates with bug fixes will receive....but i'm guessing not many. I think this will be the end of the line for the M2 support. Too bad, it was a great phone.

Android 5.1 is very disappointing altogether. It's aesthetics is a joke, its ergonomics is awkward, has various problems, slower touch response etc. I'm looking for a safe way to revert to 4.4.2 (worked better than 4.4.4) on my Xperia M2. I can't believe how they screwed it up. It's a mess.

Hi everybody,i just want to give my opinion.about the sony m2. For me this is so far the best mid range phone ever. Sound is.great i donnt know why people complain about it i hear very clearly. Its smooth and fast and the design is good. Front camera.is ok and back great. This phone is excelent and i would recomend it just ignore the bad reviews. There are way more good reviews and after all its your opinion that matters

for kind information for those who are asking about performance i am telling you there is no problem in lollipop. Performance increased and camera capture speed increased and suprior auto mode upgraded and now front facing camera have face detection. so thr is no negative point in lollipop update you can bump to lollipop. and the xloud option removed in lollipop. but after upgrading to lollipop you feel a fresh new look of ur smartphone. :)

I bought this newly about a year ago... only used 3 months display got a bubble dot which cannot repair without removing the display. I feel that is because of it's poor built quality. Phone is slim and can bent so easily. I felt poor quality materials have used. Call quality also very bad. You have to turn on the speaker to listen the calls in crowded bus. Camera quality is also bad compared to xperia V. Front camera is unusable. Also had a problem with viber. There was a big delay transfering my voice to other party. It had frequent software issues. Otherthan that phone look so handy to hand if you are using it without cover. Anyway for me samsung is 100% better model than this I don't know this phone ruined the respect I had for Sony since the Walkman time. I won't buy another Sony phone again. I would say this phone ruined my interest to Sony mobile phones... :-(

Best phone, I own it for almost a month now and no issues at all. I love the sound quality on the speaker and though the jack itself (with the Sony ClearAudio option switched on). This phone is very strong, especially its gorilla glass screen. The back however can be easily scratched as it is made from plastic. The plastic is suitable as it isn't the cheap plastic (don' worry) its very thick and tough plastic. I advise you to buy a case for this phone immediately as you wouldn't want the phone to get scratched or broken. The camera is great... both front and back. The screen is amazing !!! However the battery for me runs out quick (as I have SimCity Build It installed which eats your battery for breakfast etc), but other wise battery is excellent (without that damn game installed). The 8gb storage is more than enough also an 8gb or a 16 gb sd card are my recommendation however i DO NOT recommend buying cheap 32gb sd cards (just dont!). +rep Best phone ever! ?

I don't know y bcuz at the start it was perfect and I didn't rlly install anything.. There were some problems with some Xperia M2 devices in the beginning, but after the 4.4.4 update those problems were solved. The call quality is great, at least on my device...i never had that kind of problems.

I bought this phone a year ago and its great, nice sound, nice gaming quality, and with the proper settings you won't run out of battery so easily. The design is one of the best from the xperia series. Only fault would be the poor front camera and that in my experience while updating it used to block, shut down and get errors but that was my case alone.

I've had the phone for 8 months now the mesh that covers the speaker has peeled off but its an easy fix over all the phone is great, battery life is pretty good i have had no major problems with over heating the back facing camera is pretty good no complaints but the front facing camera sucks what ever every thing can't be perfect i have also dropped it a significant amount of times no cracks of chips on the screen hope this helps :)

Hi, I've been using my Xperia M2 since April 2015 up to July 2015, *In Terms of daily use for gaming (Dungeon Hunter 4, Asphalt4, Cytus), facebook, browsing web with Chrome using LTE connection, I never experience any issues with lag or delay. (BTW I'm using the latest andorid KitKat Version) *In terms of battery life it is good, it can last at least a day with 4 hours LTE Connection *In terms of Camera, I would say front camera is OK using 8MP, for its front camera its horrible it can't be used *In terms of its Internal storage, it is ok you can install apps up to 5 GB since the other 3GB is for bloatware of SONY. *In terms of sounds, I think it is not ok since speaker is located at the bottom of phone, you cant hold it in horizontal position since you might cover it. Overall it's ok if your looking for phone for browsing the internet,playing games, and for music with headphones (good sound) Its not ok if you will use it for taking pictures front, and back or watch videos in horizontal position.

This is definitely a no-go. I got mine 4 months ago and this is the second time it just won't power on. The worst thing is that the phone had to be sent back to the manufacturer for repair in both cases, which takes approximately 2 weeks. (!!) I had another, smaller issue with it after I encrypted my data in March, which messed up some of the settings. This phone is just really unstable and unreliable, it is highly recommended that you stay away from it, unless you want to spend your lifetime waiting for warranty repair.

Its Sound quality is awesome but after 10 months my mobile sound gets slow I don't know why. 3. Approx all games runs very smoothly without any lag.. 4. Its screen size is perfect. 5.Internal Memory is sufficient. Inbuilt is 8 GB and for user it is about 4.5GB. 6.Its Processing is fast. 7. My phone never hangs. If someone experiencing it then he should update it to KITKAT. 8. After updating it to KITKAT version just reset the phone in Factory Setting. Then it will run as smooth as Butter hehe. 9. It has a heating problem which I think cannot be resolved. 10.Battery Backup is awesome and double awesome after using Stamina Mode. 11. Its Camera Quality is not upto the mark. As any Nokia/Samsung Mobile of 5MP gives more clear picture than M2.

guys i have this phone and i gotta tell ya the camera is pretty shitty. doesnt matter its 8mpx and such, the focus is terribly slow and the quality is just ugh i wouldnt reccomend it. overall i liked the phone but still my standards are not high at all (im okay with pretty mediocre stuff)

I'm really disappointed with this phone. First: camera is really bad compared to other 8MP cameras,when you try to record video with background music there's a lot of noise, audio player is quiet, so is the phone speaker. Second:you can easily scratch the back of the phone. Protection film on camera glass can also be easily scratched. Actually if you remove that protection photos get a little better but nothing more that that...yes, it's a great phone for someone who uses it for calls, sms, IM, social networking and stuff other than taking some pictures and listening to music...battery life is good. With last update few weeks ago problem with proximity sensor was fixed (before you couldn't use phone in landscape mode after calls because the sensor wouldn't work), but now phone tends to freeze from time to time...so few of this "bad" things make this phone not that good as it looks like on the paper...

Recently I brougth an M2, after 3 weeks of use I say it main weakness is the music and video playing, ramdomly but not frecuently the media does a "hip" for around a second, sound stops and video frezzes, I it's annoing I'm a sony's fan and I can't undestand how this can happen with a Sony. I think it is the contrast of the camera that makes the photos look dark, I use snap camera hdr and I have made some settings with contrast, sharpness, saturation and the pictures look better and even the video quality is better with this apk :D try it and see how it is

I've been using this phone for almost a year and it still work on its best. The display is OK, battery life is brilliant, the rear camera still can capture great photos. I'm not a selfie lover,so the front cam doesn't bother me a lot. This phone can also deliver a great performance during gaming session. The con: the speaker isn't loud enough. Conclusion: best smartphone in its class!

HI, I bought my Sony Xperia M2 last March 2015 and is still working great as of May 2015. For its performance in terms of accessing multiple applications and games (Asphalt8 , Dungeon Hunter 4) I've never experienced any issue with lags. For its camera I appreciate its front Camera. Its good but the front camera is very horrible, It can't be used. For its speaker located at the bottom of phone. For me its not ideal specially when I play games or watch videos you cant hold it since it will cover the phone. Sound is not great. Battery life is really good it can last atleast a day with LTE connection. Overall this phone is OK.

This phone goes down on a lot and there are few good points in my opinion. (The opinions expressed by me are my impression of the M2 device as a consumer who has used this device.) On the positive: Large screen, tough Gorilla glass, and external SIM and MicroSD ports. Dedicated camera button on side of phone and volume control button. On the negative: 1) Out of the box: There is no organiser which is shameful for this type of phone, just a calendar and some time-consuming configuring to be down before an alarm sounds. 2) There is a lot of subscribing to various things in order to get features to work, which involve some serious privacy issues regarding data collection. 3) The messaging system falls down heavily on many fronts and is totally different than what would be expected. There is no specific in-box or outbox, just a list of the recent contacts and small little arrows. No "message sent" notification popup went sending. Many M2 buyers will be in for more than a few surprises here. Very poor here and messy. You also have to focus on whether you are on the messaging page or the phone page, because they are coloured the same. 4) A recent and time-consuming upgrade just produced the added effect of having a note pad�wow! 5) No dedicated microphone app, just a Google voice microphone recognition for web pages. Voice recordings must be done in message mode when sending a attachment. Then it is recorded in to a list or recordings. 6) Micro SIM card will not press in and lock with finger, you must use a pointer or go to your retailer to have it inserted to get it in a lot further before it will retain. 7) Does not come with MicroSD card. This must be bough separate. 8) Some apps upgrades can only be downloaded through WI-FI. This is stated clearly when trying to upgrade. 9) Tool app is poor. Includes basic calculator, no conversion app and expensive Mega-byte eating update app. Neo reader and backup app. Overall, this is a very clumsily phone to set up. E.G. No Gmail or Browser app on home page. They have to be taken and moved from the settings page and more. Hardly impressive. Despite having a dedicated PC software, the M2 requires that certain upgrades happen out of the phone's credit, not through a PC! A Nokia Xpress Music 5310 would be ten times better if it had a bigger screen. It was released as far back as Feb 2007. The M2 can hardly be considered a step forward in over half a decade, where other phones have surpassed it on usability and set up. Marks out of ten� five.

There is a update icon on your M2. Just tumble over until you get to the icon. It is two flips from your home screen. You can also install PC companion on your computer and the software will down load to the PC companion and then on to your phone. You obviously need the USB cable than came with the phone.

Yes you can as it has a front facing camera. However the front facing camera is much lower quality than the back facing so even though you can, it doesn't look very good. Another thing you can do is use the back facing camera and take a selfie in the mirror but that might not be what you were looking for

I purchase Xperia m2 on 28 July 2014. after few moths camera was not working properly. gave it for repair at Shitij Telecom, Gurgoan, they changed the rear of camera. this was done on 06-11-2014. Now again the same problem occurring, again i had given it in the service center. I gave it to service centre on 28 feb 2015. I really don't want to repair it, need a replacement of the same. as the problem is occurring twice in one year's warranty. This is not accepted from Sony. after few months warranty of the phone will get over. Sony had sold me faulty product. I need a replacement of the faulty product.

Well, I will be honest I found this phone to be awful. Really bad camera quality and the touch screen/typing sucks. Misses out letters and the space bar is tiny, always puts a '.' instead of a space when I am taking notes. The update to Kitkat recently lost all my work via the notes app - no apology from support just a 'you lost your data there is nothing we can do about it' - well thanks guys!

the 4g/lte internet can only work if: 1-your service provider/carrier offers 4g speed 2-if you have towers for the lte speed near to you. the phone is capable to connect 4g but it depents on the service and on the coverage.

Tip for anyone who are complaining about the front camera, try changing the pic quality (8M is the best but the default is 5M) and turn on HDR mode (but not at night or under poor light condition) you will notice a big improvement in pics quality.

Love it it really fast and the 4G is lightning fast on EE it also has a great camera and battery life and although the display is low resolution it still looks great and is a great size and the metal and glass body feels the part too,the only drawbacks are that the front camera isn't great and the phone is quite expensive.

I do not have experia M2, but I have xperia xperia M and experia Z ultra, I like the melodious voice of xperia while listening to music. xperia deficiency is an application that can not be moved to sd card (external storage)

i'm not the owner, but i own sony xperia phones, and i can't stand seeing people trying so hard to put a lot of negative comments and trying to put a bad reputation on sony. if you have problem with sony feel free to post but stop pretending to be different person, i know you are just posting in different userID. to make it look like that a lot of people are having the same issue.

Though the specs maybe the same... but the quality matters.... sony is renowned for best quality of mobile next to apple.... though I haven't used a G2 mini yet.... but I have used an xperia M2 and the other competetor grand 2... grand 2 and M2 have almost the same features.... though grand 2 has more of RAM than M2 still, I found M2 to be a lot more smoother and better than grand 2.... but the main drawback of any xperia device is its speakers.... they give very less sound even after enabling the xloud feature... also the on screen buttons on the xperia devices make the screen a bit short than any of the device having physical buttons....

i wanna update my xperia m2 dual....but i'm confused,coz in many xperia devices i have seen after updatin the android(say xperia z1),phone dramatically starts to heat up more quickly ,infact i can't play any heavy game for 5 minute even and simultaneously touch also doesnt responds. after update (xperia z1) 1. phone heats very much and very quickly 2. battery drain quickly 3. touch disresponds due to heat so should i ....update my xperia's m2 jelly bean to kitkat?

Just got it two days ago. The reason it's dark is cause the front camera absolutely sucks, 0.3MP. The low quality causes that (from what I know experience wise). Otherwise, i love it.

theres plenty of apps that you can use for taking notes also if you edit one setting on your phone to alow apps from unknown sources download from the internet any app that you may want for free type in the name of that app just add to the end apk file (demo) skysports apk file download

by default sony doesnt give inbuilt file manager like samsung nd other smartfone cmpanies..u can install astro file manager.... am too using xperia 'm' with dis file manager from 1 year.... this wil solve ir problem.... atlast sony is d bst ;-)

I haven't owned a phone with HD screen so I'm fine with it. the only thing I didn't like about its screen it's using TFT. sony should have used IPS.

I must admit that i do love this phone apart from one major flaw... I cannot organise all my video's and pics into folders. There is a type of folder option, but you cannot create folders like other phones. Quite disappointing.

Hi all, I am leaving this forum for the time being, until I get another Sony phone in the future. May be. The M2 serves me very well over the past five months. Some problems, are - the rear camera though is quite good after the update to KitKat 4.4.2, but the focusing part is really very slow. In that you will miss many great shots. - opening of apps not very fast but bearable. No force close issue. All in all, this M2 gives me good user experience. (I am switching to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G LTE.)

Good camera at the rear. Bad Selfie for the front. Focusing is slow. AR camera software very nice. Good for taking daylight portrait shots.
