IPS LCD is just not as good with high glares and sunny days. Excellent glass and panel quality, very hard, rigid and hard to break. Overall timeproof and firm phone. Huh, my experience is almost exactly same as yours. On my 5th year as well. I actually re applied the thermal but it still overheats a bit. I still get 4 hours of SoT. T-mobile on this is a bit shotty. Planning on getting a oneplus 7 pro.

I've had this phone for 3 years now and I needed to fix the battery twice. It never lagged much and I admired the responsiveness but there were just too many issues with the phone. I didn't get the phone from the official store but from dealer, it seemed unused. It started having battery problems about a year later, and kept shutting off at 70% battery, so I got it fixed. 2 years later and my phone fell and the screen broke (the durability is good, I have dropped my phone many times and it came out without a scratch), so I got it fixed along with the battery because apparently the battery had a chance of exploding. After that, my phone started getting extremely hot, the battery started draining faster and the responsiveness was reduced, I had to click harder and wait longer. A week ago my screen started glitching and clicked everywhere randomly, opening apps and closing them, switching on bluetooth, etc. Not sure if it was the screen that was causing this. There were other problems too, even before i replaced my screen, like when I use the camera for more than 2-3 minutes it automatically closes the app, saying that the camera has overheated. The camera quality is okay, not too bad. The charging flap fell off and the rubber around it (to make the phone waterproof) fell off after 1 or 2 years, making it no longer waterproof. It overheats when playing simple games that use less than 300mb. It would also randomly restart at times. The speaker wasn't good enough, either. There may be more issues but I can't remember them right now. It wasn't completely trash but still needed a lot of improvement.

I tried to swap it with a S7 Edge, but Z2 is far better in key features. It has double tap and gloves mode. The last is very important to me because I ride a bike, so I don't care about the double performance and the fingerprint sensor of the S7. Sony Z2 rules!!! :D

Mine's coming up on 5 years now, and I have been overall pleased. It still has pretty good specs, even by today's standards. Mine only overheats when I record more than a few minutes of 4k video, but the camera has been great. My only beef has with reception, which seems to have been something that's happened overtime, and may have more to do with my network, T-mobile. It seems to have an issue with hopping or reconnecting to towers when I am mobile, or if I lose signal, then come back into range, to resolve I have to reboot. I am finally thinking of upgrading to address these issues. We'll see if T-Mobile's new extended LTE provides value or is just marketing hype. Not sure what to replace it with though. Want unlocked device, killer camera that shoots RAW and 4k, expandable storage, and supports 600 and 700mhz bands.

This phone is unusable by today's standard, all early z-series had sensitive touch display and the keyboard doesn't function very well, and also prone to ghost touch. I guess everything has it's days.

Many Sony xperia z2 users are complaining overheating and battery drain issue... the overheating in normal mode and battery drain issue is cause by a hardware.... Nothing cant stop the overheating issue unless that hardware is removed on the phone....... how can,, recording 4k video and then make the phone to overheat and drain battery fast.... the problem is the back camera.. which cause the phone to overheat Remove the sony z2 back glass panel to gain access on the mother board now remove or disconnect the camera cord connected on the board all the overheating in normal mode and battery drain are fixed....

Had mine for more than 4 years. It's still really quite good. Still get 3-4 SoT. No lag or reboots on my still running marshmallow. Beautiful screen. It does overheat quite a lot if I watch heavy videos or played games.

After 3 years its a good phone. The screen start yellowish but it's ok. The vibration is dead but i order new vibration motor so i change it by my self. The phone working fast and i dont need a new one right now.

I bought this phone 3 years ago, and had been using this phone for less than 2 years. The problem I faced is the touchscreen was not responding in some section of the phone. Back to earlier, it was having "ghost-touch" (the touchscreen was activated without any finger tapped on the screen) and this lasted about one month with frequent self-resolution. The phone also heated up so much. Finally, I came to the nearest Sony service center, and asked for solution. They told me it was a hardware failure, and it cost about 2 million rupiah (about 140 USD). I decided to have it repaired in a non-official store and it cost me 750k rupiah (about 52 USD). But my phone's touchscreen was not restored as accurate as the original, and sometimes the phone wrongly detected my tap location. They got my sim card broken too in middle of repairing process, so it could only detected my sim card in certain position. I had already complained to the store, but they could not get my phone any better, so I am stucked using this phone to watch Youtube or movie.

Usually there will be battery problems after using a smartphone for many years, even the XPERIA Z2 u are using. Try replacing the battery with a new one or maybe get a new smartphone? If u don't have that much budget maybe get the XPERIA XA1

Yes, the Camera Quality was abysmal to begin with and was way overhyped by the media and Sony themselves. The dynamic range was nothing short of woeful and really struggled on bright cloudy days (Ended up getting virtually silhouettes in a lot of shots.). Colour was pretty flat as well. Compared with the more recent Samsung phones of around the same era, the Samsungs far out shone the Sony in the aforementioned situations. Other than that, the phone did it's core functions well (Kitkat though, MM wrecked Wifi)

So, a few days ago, finally bit the bullet and flashed it back to Kitkat 4.4.2. WiFi Performance so far has vastly improved across the board (different, regularly used, access points). No mucking around, Under Kitkat, WiFi instantly connects. For some reason, WiFi for me under Marshmallow... It took forever to negotiate a connection, regularly got stuck in an 'Obtaining IP address' loop. Would often disconnect / reconnect repeatedly, Data transfer would also often stop and start. While other Android (different brands / models) devices on the same Access point were fine. This was even after repeatedly factory resetting my phone (while it had Marshmallow) multiple times during testing / troubleshooting. Something I believe is seriously wrong with the WiFi Marshmallow Drivers at least for the Z2 device specifically. I had waited 2 years hoping that Sony might release a patch to address poor WiFi Performance but this was never fixed. To add. I had another friend who, un-asked, mentioned she also has the Z2 and noticed degraded WiFi performance after updating her Z2 to Marshmallow.

Actually it will depend on yourself. I also use 2 mobile phones: Right now I use iPhone 5s for texting, writing comments, browsing, YouTube, game, calling. While my second phone is Nokia C100 (calling and SMS features only) and this Nokia seldom to use, the most is receive SMS and accept incoming calls only. My Xperia Z2 I put back into box. I still prefer iPhone 5s compared Xperia Z2. I also hold 2 phones, but rather seldom put into pocket. So, if you woud like to use 1 mobile phone. Then your Xiaomi I think can do the job since that phone can has two SIM cards.

In 2016, I think Android phone people use, better has 3 GB RAM. In 2017 and 2018? Higher RAM is better. For 2018 better choose 4 GB RAM or more. I was Android users, use several model of Android smartphones, buy new, use several days, weeks and months, sold them, buy new again, waste money cycle for crazy buying smartphones. In 2013, 2 GB RAM is good, but when 2015 and 2016, 2 GB RAM for me wasn't not enough again. Android, their apps, Facebook, Twitter, etc, keep up to date, and needs more power and higher RAM to be operated excellent or perfectly. Android small RAM will be stress while install many apps and running them.

i have just bought this sony z2 phone to upgrade my previous phone.so far i am very pleased with my purchase.it is a phone which is fairly easy to use for anyone.it also has loads of different functions and settings.i mainly use the phone for internet which seems to be very smooth and fast.its probably one of the best phones i have ever bought.the battery life seems to be pretty good.i would recommend the sony z series to anyone,despite being a slightly older phone now.

Hi, can anybody tell me is it normal, when i connected external audio system 70w with 3.5 cable the sound is very quote. I don't know i try play from usb or other phone. The sound is 3x louder and better. From z2 i cant get a loud music with good speakers. I try all settings. Not much different. If i good remember with 4.4.4 all was fine. Not sure 100% . Whats sony do. They using limitations of volume? It's sad. I can buy 150w speakers but i know i cant connect to my z2 becouse it will be to quote.

Great phone, original Android that came with this phone performed the best I feel for my specific individual circumstances. Unfortunately, Still haven't manage to find much love for Android Marshmallow after all these years. Reduced WIFI stability, reduced ability to obtain / keep GPS lock while offline (in the wilderness, away from reception). Even after numerous full resets.

Fully agreed with Jamie. A little shy of three years now, not a scratch on it. Still keeps up just fine with anything and everything. No odd glitches, screen burn, or anything else. The battery isn't quite what it used to be, but that seems mostly due to the lack of Sony's stamina mode. The battery was amazing with it and I had it on all the time, but after it got removed when marshmallow (I think it was marshmallow) was released the battery life took a significant hit. That said I still get a full day comfortably. I'm a fairly heavy user (about 2.5 hours a day of real usage) both games, and web browsing. Had a 6 hour day recently of browsing, Pokemon go, maps, ect. Usually end my day with about 30% remaining. To summarize, amazing phone, can't recommend enough. Although I doubt anyone will be getting one now as it is pretty old in phone years now, my next phone will definitely be a Sony, and I highly recommend. P.S. I work in a phone store and really wish Sony would have their phones available to us again, even if its only if we ask for them, and not regular stock. I always have to recommend Samsung (there on par, just different aspects to be fair) since nobody can carry Sony and we all work on commission, so I can't say "ya just go buy one from Sony's website and bring it in to get it activated" since I'd be actively reducing my own income.

I used xperia z2 for almost 2 years. a few months ahead i experienced ghost touch, it kept clicking the screen without us tapping the screen, the phone usually gets overheat with the screen problem.. so i turned it off, after a few hours, i turned it on, and it worked normally.. these happened several times, about 3 times a week i guess. Until one day, the phone got the other touchscreen problem (i could not tap on several area on the screen, and it was permanent) and it annoyed me a lot. So i bought another phone. Until now, i am still using sony, but it did not function as it should. I must say i am quite disappointed with sony

Don't need to complain about the Water-Proofing, since it have only IP58 rating, which is currently known as only "Splash-Proof" instead of "Water-Proof". Lol dude, 3GB RAM is the norm for 2014 smartphones, what do u expect? Why not get a new 2017 smartphone? There are more options now, with some having 8GB RAM satisfy more on daily usage, if u think 4GB RAM is too less when it is not, and also better Water-Proof rating if u are the type who always puts the smartphone in water

The Z2 Xperia is a reasonable phone, but Sony's support is terrible. They usually don't respond or provide useless responses. That aside the PRO's of the phone are: (1) reasonable processors, (2) good camera with 4K video (but...see cons), (3) fairly water-proof...(but...see cons). CON's: (1) camera overheats when filming in 4K, (2) Gorilla-glass back breaks frequently, poorly made and then water-proofing gone, (3) Memory is limited to 3GB. Beware of Swiss provider Swisscom, charged me hundreds of Francs (1 CHF = 1 USD) for repairing phone even under guarantee. Apologized but no refund. Swisscom is poor provider.

I used Sony Xperia Z1 first. And I buy second hand Sony Xperia Z2. Well it's pretty good but the speaker it's too low and much treble. But it's better than Sony Xperia Z1. Which is more terrible. The screen is better too. I love Sony Xperia Z2 screen. Compare to other phone Sony Xperia Z2 is reddish screen. I compared Sony Xperia Z2 with my friend's IPhone 6s. Nice phone. But not worth in 2017. No update and laggy.

This phone is a boss and does the job by today standards. And there's no overheating unless you use recording on 4K video mode for too long it will, and high powered apps like VPNs will overheat depending on the climate where you live.

Yes. Thanks for reply. I feel pain if you must wait 1s to see pictures with x reality. But this is placebo effect. My phone isn't flashed or smth. I use original firmware but never use x reality engine because it is placebo effect on phone. All other things like pc or other phones, tablet show without x reality. So maybe it's look nice when i takes photos on my device with x reality but other people see original result without x reality. But if you say that this method doesn't fix camera quality than i am sorry for it.

Yup I did but it's not the same. The low light camera performance was still bad (only marginally improved), and the X-Reality engine was just a layer on pictures. For example, when I opened the photos app and clicked on a photo, it would show the photo, then 1s later a layer was added on top and the photos looked more saturated. Felt like a very unnatural process. During my testing, I took a photo before using that method (the DRM restoration) and I took the same photo afterwards and they looked pretty much exactly the same. Also, screenshotting a photo without the X-Reality engine and with the engine, there was no difference when I compared then side-by-side on my computer. In conclusion, it might help but I honestly only see it as a placebo, and so did many others at at XDA Developers forum. In any case, always make sure to backup the DRM Keys.

YES you will, unless you make a full-on backup of the DRM Keys (each and every Xperia has its own unique DRM Keys, so if you don't back it up, you'll have to live with a degraded camera and no X-Reality/Bravia Engine forever). I know, because I made this stupid/tragic mistake. So if you do unlock the bootloader, remember the DRM Keys. Other than that, unlocking the bootloader was the best thing I'd ever done ;)

It provides decent photos at a relatively high resolution. It's Internet connection is outstanding, and I can browse and send photos and text easily. I was going to get an IPhone, but discovered my Sony already has most of what I would have paid $800 for. It's a decent Smart Phone.

What's the problem with your battery? If it's not some kind of wakelock problem or some apps draining your battery maybe you should go for a new one. I recommend you rooting the phone and installing a software like betterbatterystats to check if something is draining your battery.

I brought z2 in 11th of April 2015 and I'm still using it. I updated it to marshmallows in last December and its awesome, it didn't support my language(sinhala) before marshmallows but now it is. Battery is dying little fast now. But sofar no lagging. My USB covering slot is broken so no water proof. It's a old phone so don't buy it now, but if you like to buy z2 don't hesitate. Cheers 🍻

I got nothing to complain apart from that simcard cover which comes of after few month,cuz I plug it in and out frequently for charging. It's actually a really great device, when there was a good camera. The sensor is very high-end, but Sony didn't handle it, that you can use it's potential. Unfortunately there are no good custom ROMs except CyanogenMod 12.1 which is very stable, even when you flash a nightly.

Actually the cover of back camera of z2 has backlight coating to take better pictures in bright light but unfortunately it gets removed by itself which takes poor pictures so ultimately one can only change the back cover of camera , but who knows the coating on that cover will also get removed gradually.It starts getting removed when the phone gets heated due to 4k or other aheavy use. So camera is good , it just takes too bright photos so instead of superior auto try manually take pics by adjusting the settings and later you can edit them anyway.

Just an advice for anyone planning to buy a new smartphone like Z2, Z3 or older models through EBay or Ali Express: Most of the units listed as new, aren't. These are refurbished units. You better pick one that's listed as refurbished, or buy an used unit from the local market using OLX or so. A friend of mine got his "new" Z3 from Ali and it had a modified main board of an original Z3 to make it look and work like D6603. When he flashed it to root it he hard bricked it, because it was a different version, and the files he had were for the D6603. Now it's dead. I opened the back cover of his Z3 and saw the parts like ear piece, loudspeaker, main flex, and the whole screen with its frame were generic parts. Not original Sony parts. The back cover was also a generic one, which looks just like the original except in the lens that covers the led flash. This can cause the pictures taken with flash to turn out with an ugly halo on the right lower corner. I know about original parts and spare parts because I work as a smartphone technician. I didn't check all of the parts, but the only one I saw was original was the battery, and maybe the camera. So, beware! - Eisley

I can't really remember the exact amount of on-screen time, but I guarantee you it is among the best you will have seen in a phone, only the Z3 compact has better longevity than the Z2 in terms of popular phones from big brands. As I said, I could get through the day no matter what, usually I would charge once every 1.5 - 2 days, and that is with me being a heavy user, I still remember how amazed I was with the battery when I first got the phone, since I was coming from a phone with an abysmal battery life. For a year and a half, the battery lasted pretty well, but I'm gonna buy a new one these days, it seems depleted now. Regarding heating, that usually occurs when you record videos, or play heavy games, but since I seldom do any of the above, I don't really have much of a heating problem with it. Another thing is, reading reviews on the internet, I was scared about the front/back glass cracking easily if I dropped it, and maybe I've gotten lucky, but I've dropped my phone like 50 times, and it hasn't broken yet, and I hope it doesn't. This phone is the best purchase I ever made, it's the best phone of it's generation hands down. It is easily rootable which is a must for me, and the Sony UI is the best, no laggy TouchWiz, and you can uninstall the bloatware Sony apps if you root it. If you can get it at a good price, go for it, you won't regret it, it's still a great phone, even by today's standards. I've yet to see Sony make another phone as good as the Z2, because lately Sony's phones have been having subpar battery life, sure camera ain't the best out there, but if you're not obsessed with taking the best photos, then don't hesitate to go for it.

No, it won't. Not even you capture hundreds of pictures at one shot. It might shut down while recording 4k, but that too will be about after recording more than 10 mins.

The new stamina update is way better than the 575 update. multi tasking got better. Although the much awaited Stamina mode is not same as Lollipop Stamina, it's rather that Low Battery Mode ie it switch off vibration, gps and auto sync for the app. The good thing that's added in the update is, now we can exclude app from Doze Mode very easily and excluding app from Doze also exclude it from Stamina Mode too!! People need to understand that Doze is inbuilt in Android 6 and its mandatory, Sony can't do about it and implementing dual battery mode thing is not possible. for me- this update is quite fine or I should say Its good. I don't use battey savers so Stamina mode is always useless for me anyways. SOT is good, connectivities are good. Multi Tasking is good. and what I observed is updating via PC Companion is always a better experience that FOTA update.

I just bought a used Z2, which from a speed and stability angle, is superb! Very lovely phone to use, but like you, the camera is terrible. (I upgraded to Marshmallow as soon as I purchased it.) The quality of the camera in all situations is terrible, even the 1080P video in daylight is noisy and full of artefacts. If there is any light shining towards the camera, the image is washed out. Plus it is not possible to select 4K video mode. Is my Z2 faulty (water ingestion perhaps?), is this Marshmallow, or are ALL Z2s like this? Such a great phone otherwise!

It's a good solid unit unlike the s5 that's so plastic. Only advice I would give is that you should purchase tempered screen protector and a good quality case as breakages often upset! There is alot of glass on the z2 and like iphones it wouldn't take much of a drop to kill it.

My z2 is 2 years old and it's still in good condition! It really depends on how you use it. Do not install anything malicious or what not. Put a screen protector, cover. Do not drop it as much as possible. Just updated to 6.0.1 marshmallow and it's running smoothly. Charges very fast and battery can last up to a whole day or the next (in moderate use of apps) but to a busy user it may only last for 1/2-3/4 of the day. Although it heats up to a really high temperature when taking videos for 2-4 mins... Overall a very good phone:)

Bought a new Z2 instead of going for current midrange device and don't regret it at all. After latest 6.0.1 update it's extremely smooth and responsive. Device warms up as expected but barely noticed during normal use, only gaming and camera cause the heat to be noticed. Camera is great especially considering the price in where it competes now. 1080p @ 60fps, 4K video are not attainable at the price which i paid for ($252) Speakers are nice, not HTC boomsound nice but better than a single speaker set up. Sony apps like photo and music are nicely designed. Battery life is very good and I can get two day usage regularly aided by the fact it supports quick charge. Overall great impression even after all this time. If you are in the market for a midrange device definitely check this out.

Had this phone for a month now. On the first day I got it , I immediately upgraded to Lollipop for it give me options to move apps to SD Card. Everything is running fast & great! I don’t understand why there is so much hate here. The camera is perfect if you know how to use it. But if you are the type who depends on “Auto mode” then you won’t be able to appreciate what Sony camera offers. It gives you plenty of options TBH. Battery life is good as well. There are just adjustments you have to make to avoid not frequently used apps consume your battery. You can utilize google for tricks & tips. I’m a Samsung fan/user and will always be a Samsung fan because all my Samsung phones have served me very well , but I must say this phone is amazing! And I won’t hesitate upgrading to Xperia Z5 Premium in a few weeks.

I've had MM for 3 weeks so far everthing is good. I don't even remember stamina mode coz in my opinion battery life is similar. just wish there was ultra stamina mode. Performance is fluid. app permission is good but can get annoying at times. other than that the update is awesome. those having issues I don't know why or maybe they're just trolling. NB: After updating to MM do a factory reset clean the phone clean and start over. after all data can always be recovered. Don't forget to backup your data.

Guys before buying new xperia z2 there are some collected versions with bad quality screen as it doesn't have a glass screen but plastic screen and the flash led finishing under camera lens is very bad as its not at the middle!!!! It seems to me that the battery lasts pretty much the same as before. I have no complains yet. Should you upgrade? I don't know. In reality bro there is no difference in all these android 4.0,5.0 & 6.0. I used all three. But now revert back to kitkat. Bcs i kitkat is most stable and fast android version till now. Heating is far less in kitkat. In lollipop phone heats up badly. Also in marshmallow it heats more than kitkat. So my advice is to keep kitkat don't bother about others bcs everything is same in these three android version as software wise.

I updated mine yesterday and noticed that I can no longer pair my PS3 pad wirelessly - you have to use an OTG cable. Other minor irritations - you can't switch the phone to silent via the volume buttons, the choice is sound or vibrate only. It now has to be in my pocket at work to it doesn't buzz on the desk. Also, the touch sounds can only be disabled by going into settings - which you could also disable from the volume button shortcut. There's no stamina mode, which was much easier to configure than the stuff supplied with the new firmware. Only minor niggles with a much improved firmware but the nerve of them, forcing me to use a PS4 pad, when I know the device has the capability to use an older dualshock is an absolute liberty! Guys, yesterday I got my update to marshmallow (z2 d6503) and for the last 24h i've experienced this: 1. No lag, actually on my phone it runs better than 5.1.1... 2. Camera quality is the same but in my op. it looks better like this:)) 3. Battery is the same like 5.1 w/ stamina:)) and I have no stamina now.. Looking forward to the update with stamina mode. I bet it will go from 5h on screen time to 6/6.5hours. The only things I don't like is the way they made the app management sistem. It's confusing and it doesn't show what apps can be moved on sd, and the fact that even with wi-fi on or data on, it always shows the 4g sign at the signal bar.. At the beginning I thought I had my wi-fi and data on at the same time:)) Other than that my experience with 6.0 is lovely. Colorful interface, easy to use and not a big improvement over 5.1 but it is improved so good job sony.

Here's my 5 days using Z2 after updating to Marshmallow: - very bad battery life even using the battery saver! - incoming & outgoing calling interface is ugly! - no big changes at all comparing to lollipop! - no stamina mode Please keep on lollipop which is much better don't update to marshmallow I know xperia Z2 is a great phone but I really began to hate it after updating it & I had a bad experience with the phone as it has a bad touch & sensors is not working properly, touch to wake up option doesn't work & during calls my skin keeps touching the screen opening apps & setting even after removing the glass screen protector....Really I miss my Old xperia Z it was working perfectly with lollipop 5.1.1 :S

what i enjoyed most is swipe down, if you are having a hard time to find the apps, just swipe down and search it(even you are in home screen). and suddenly your most used app will be on the suggested app..(just like apple)

Just received mm (Egypt) Overall is awesome. Specially look, setting menu, and small icons. Great new double tap to sleep and better d t to wake up. Battery is great till now. No problem with multitasking and camera till now. Better app drawer. The only drawbacks I found, Weeeeeak WiFi signal, no fm radio and ext storage for some applicationd But Sony announced a fix for all these problems with latest beta.

Just got my update yesterday in Bahrain, 1st got the OTA update, but will not update bcoz, its rooted, I un-root, and today re-download the update, then it finally installed. "enta nadman :D", This problem doesn't exist in my phone maybe because I bought it 6 months ago and it's battery still working well. You can rollback to 5.1.1 lollipop by using it's ROM , you can find the way to do that just googling it.

I would recommend Z2 ( Not just because I own one) , But as both Z2 and Z3 are almost the same specs Except for Pros: - Z3 is higher IP protection "with most users including me both fail for underwater usage :D so I I advise not to try" - Z3 Has little bit higher Processor Cons: - Higher Price - Same Frontal Camera "Which is the most unsatisfying point in my phone for me" - Z3 screen got broken most of the time (with most of my friends) because the upper glass is not well protected under the aluminium case. If you could pay more I would recommend Z3+ or higher, If not go for Z2. Note: This is my personal point of view.

Good morning to all z2 users. fortunately I got a solution, that is go to the settings , application, show system , external storage and allow permissions. Install ES FILE EXPLORER, and make sure that still with it allow permissions in the apps settings. That is it.

u can still move apps to SD cards, in lollipop there was a tab for movable apps now u have to get into the app info of a particular app to move it. I m on MM and i don't find any of the other problem u faced, extremely happy with the update

i must say a BIG NO to the last update, i did it and now just got back to 5.1.1 why?; - no ultra stamina mode [is very useful when you don.t have where to charge] - camera is worst, stucking and blocking, phone restart {i never got that in 2 years lol} etc - can.t move apps to SD anymore! - WI FI signal is lower range! - battery is the same, - so 5.1.1 is better, belive me! for now at least. you can check on forums and see that Sony promiss an update fix to this problems! so till than,,i advice all to stay on 5.1.1! cheers

I am seriously very satisfied with the MM update. usually I do a format after an upgrade but this time I didn't feel anything like that. I found it way better than LP. Doze is better than Stamina. Signal of wifi has gone stronger and I even feel ut connect more than LP. Battery is way better. I just can't agree with people who says MM is not better. It us awesome. I don't know why you have issues. I updated after reading so many negative reviews and I found none of them applying to me. I m damn happy with the update. I updated with PC companion

But facing lot of issues, while using screen freezes and jerking sometimes. if we touch the screen thrice screen displayed very zoomed. while unlocking the pin lock functionality animation need to speed up. Just updated mine, received OTA. So far enjoying the new update. Sure there is no stamina mode, but i think the battery improves. I run the diagnostic, and what failed are loud speaker and the ear piece.. No souds coming of.. But, when i try to call some it is pretty fine, eve the lous speaker is doing well. Not mich changes, home screen seems more spacious that you can use. Im still exploring and give you update if i find something wierd. Salamat!Philippines

There are many changes in this version. Stamine was replaced with 2 other applications. They entered security options for rights that get the installed applications (Settings->Applications) and much more. Probably you should see better the operating system. And not make a hasty conclusions

The phone is great until you accidentally break it or the side cover gets away. The screen changeover is a bit complicated and basically you have to buy the screen and back cover together (because the cover shatters quickly during the exchange). Its hard to get good quality LCD screen so you get white spots very soon. And if the screen breaks, you cannot manipulate it. The only way is to back up the data and get another screen or phone. Really troublesome phone. Apart from that, I was really satisfied with it.

Poor call quality after marshmallow update on xperia z2. I cant find or there is no "turn off mic suppression" like on previous version to fix the similar problem. Now nobody can hear me unless the phone is in my mouth! Please help!!! Other than that One part of a PHONE!, the update to marshmallow after reformatting after the update (without the reformat the phone was s.l.ow.e.r.), the update has been faster and cleaner to the eye. :)

I love this phone. I am still using it after all this time and it works flawlessly. Never a problem when upgrading to a newer version of android. I have updated it to android Marshmallow 6.0.1 now and so far so good. Never overheated on me. No automatic reboots (like me previous "S" brand flagship phones). No glitches. Just solid reliability. I would have replaced phones by now if I was using any other brands out. My history of phone refresh is about once a year. My Z2 have proven so reliable and still relatively fast that there is no need for me to get a new phone. Only wish Sony would make a slightly bigger phone like in the 5.5 - 6" model flagships.

An exceptional smartphone and i will not be upgrading at this point as i still have a fully functional high smartphone in the Sony Xperia Z2, 10/10.

I bought Z2 but don't unboxed it and traded for Z3 compact but don't opened it too. At the end I payed more and bought Z3. I'm very happy with my Z3. Also inserted SanDisk Ultra 128GB micro SD card. Go for Z3.

The 8MP Mode is automatic mode (superior) where the 20MP Mode is manual where you have more options and you can change scene mode, brightness, and others. To be honest with you I'm only using the Superior Mode (8MP) because the phone is choosing the right settings and for me that is better, clearer, sharper than the Manual Mode

it is still a solid phone If u r really bored of it, then i suggest u try custom roms like cyangenmod if playing around that much is not ur thing, then u might try some launcher like Nova launcher maybe, it may seem very little change, but believe me it works with boredom. I really dont see any reason for u to change ur phone and if i may, how about the overheating is there any like some people say?

I don't want to sacrifice the great battery life, near-stock android look and feel, etc etc. Please help me, is it worth to upgrade to: Galaxy S6 or S6 edge (weak battery?) Everything is good about this xperia z2. The overall features is very nice. Except what im experiencing now. When i charge my phone it takes 4 hrs before it reaches 90 % but for me its alright. I can accept that. But the issue here is. Its not charging full. Its not reaching the 100%.when it reaches 94 % its start to blink the charging icon and led on and off while charging. Just splash some cold water over it and bwala: the overheating is gone. All gadgets will overheat under the sun so I don't see it as a disadvantage over the Z2. Moreover, if you guys are planning to vuy the z2/z3 choose the z3 if you want your phone to be updated to android 7 but if you want to save money for the expense of update: choose z2. (Marshmallow will probably be the last update for Z2) Overall, the Z2 is the best phone I've encountered which did not gave me any problems at all.

Another tip for xperia z2 user.. For those of you guys having the same problem like i do with loose charging flaps.. Go buy a magnetic cable first then check if your magnetic charging port is working.. Then buy a TPU Jelly clear case for Xperia Z1 model.. Since z1 and z2 have the same body it will fit.. But the flaps of z1 is different.. This prevents the flaps to open when using case of z1 for z2.. But you'll have to pinch a hole on top of the case where the mic is located.. I've done this and my flaps issues are solved.. Goodluck guys..

using Z2 for 2 years,sent o repair during warranty period starting from 1 wk of usage 3 continuous times and not able to solve the problem and requested for a new phone. Finally sony cheated by getting replacing only the motherboard and told me it is a new phone. All remaining problems remain and as time goes more and more problems surface. Tanks but I read that Z3 has better display (brighter) and Better low light camera. and microphones has improved as I read that Z2's microphones is not good performer in heavy sounds like bass e.t.c. for demo and now check Z3 Personally I also like the design of Z2 especially it LED NOTIFICATION LIGHT. and I also like it speaker grill but the thing i don't like about its sim card slot is under the same flap where USB port is located. so is its DISPLAY in sunlight,durability of flaps,any problem you have encountered so far as I can buy any of em(Z2 or Z3) but if I will go for Z2 I may save about 50-60 USD.

tip for guys who are using xperia z2.. If you are trying to take a pictures on dark places, don't use superior auto.. Use Manual mode then go to SCN.. select ISO High Sensitivity (turn off flash).. This is how you activate the lowlight shot on manual mode..

It took me 7hrs screen on time with 1% left.. Im using Facebook, line, viber, facebook messenger, Google browsing, instagram and YouTube.. But with gaming it took me around 5 hrs screen on time with 1hr boom beach and 1hr clash of clans with all the apps above combined.. Heating is normal when playing games and video calls.. this device is great in terms of battery life.. My only advice is that don't play games while charging or use quick charger because it will heat up.. It will ruin you battery..

Been using my Z2 D6503 International for almost 2 years now and I must say, of all the android phones i've used in the past - this one takes the cake in terms of battery longevity and performance. Yes, its 2 years old with an outdated snapdragon 801 chip but it still remains a very capable device - not to mention, it's water resisting feature. 3gb of ram is very useful these days. When it was released back in early 2014, it was ahead of its competition by a mile with respect to specs. I'll continue using this phone til it finally breaks. Just sad to see the last line of Z series ending with Z5. I honestly think Sony nailed it with Z2, other Z series followed it only had incremental upgrade which were not ground-breaking. If you're looking for a reliability, long battery life, and great performing phone - get the Z2.

I've been using Z2 for a year and a half now. No issues at all so far! Good battery life with stamina mode. Just protect the screen with a good screen guard, and you're good to go. I was using Samsung S4 earlier, hated Samsung for the endless issues and servicing. Sony is a relief!

Z2 is amazing phone. Go for it. Mine is Z3. It is superb phone too.

ya its true im a fan of sony i once used samsung and it always lag so i changed to m2 now i want to upgrade my phone, the only reason im not into c5 is the 2gb ram, cause i also a fan of gaming i need a big ram,but i already made my decision tho im going for z2

If you are selfie fan buy Sony C5 with 13mp front camera. If not buy Z2 it is better. Samsung sucks with its fans. Laggy crap phones. Don't talk about Samsung on Sony pages.

If phone has no issues then best thing to do is buy a skin and cover the backpanel...... There some pretty awesome looking ones out there. This will prevent any unnecessary bulk to your phone. Or you can replace the backpanel which will cost some cash at sony centres....

Ummm......... Basically the difference between the two is negligible. Only advantage is Z3 has a different design and will get marshmallow slightly earlier than Z2. So to save cash go for Z2 Otherwise if you don't mind spending a some extra cash go for the Z3. Better choice would be to buy Z2 and use extra cash to buy a smartwatch. ;-)

Z2 for sure...... You just can't compare a flagship to a midrange. The S801 is very powerful... Which is why oneplus X has it. Also the 20mp snapper is quite good. Not as good as s6 or note5. But better than most mid ranges.

Samsung's camera is oversaturated, it ads more unnecessary colour. Sony is perfect, realistic colours that sees your eyes... Also better battery life and no lag... Go for Sony.
