Toshiba G500 - User Reviews

  • Does anyone still use this phone?

  • subrata ......... very good phone sachin you have this

  • nice but annoying

  • hello for toshiba company,I want mobile toshiba phone for me,thank you very much

  • not easy to use,but i belive its a nice phone, then where can i get the bateries

  • the the worst i ever used. i would suggest do not by under any circumstances. Even dont take if any one gives for free

  • it is easy to use but hard to find the battery. where can i buy it

  • well, its the second time i bought this phone (since my first one was stolen) and for once more i have to say that its an excellent phone indeed. fast wi-fi, good enough camera for a wm5 se device, many apps to download, but it's only handicap is it's battery limited stamina.....had to buy a second one. but still, it's great!

  • me too same problem :(

  • i like this model of phone...

  • iam interest to use this mobile

  • just say this is a wanderful mobile.i love it

  • no out going calls ? it shows call ended as soon as i call. only in comming calls . why its so ?

  • It lack of features. Selecting of items for copying and cutting such as images, mp3s, text messages, etc. are not improved. Selecting are processed one by one. It's not easy to use. And the GPRS in the Philippines cannot be used in Toshiba G500. It's very poor. I hope Toshiba company will improve this given problems.

  • Drop call, switch to silent profile after incoming call, noisy---Toshiba service center said it has good voice pickup. Other problems due to Microsoft, the hardware is OK. Never use Toshiba again. After one year use of G500, I switch to Nokia E52. My last phone, Ericsson T610, I used it for 3 years until the shell broken down. G500 has tons advanced functions, none of them work. 1. The profile can switch to silent if the calendar is marked busy. It works, but not switch back after meeting. I disabled this function, it switch to silent profile after each incoming call. So, I have to set the silent profile same as normal profile. Before meeting, I have to modify the normal profile to disable ringer sound. Very annoying. 2. Received lots of complain about voice quality. G500 picks lots of background voice. T610 is better than this high tech. phone. 3. I set the wifi, if I entered wrong key, it hard reset the phone. 4. Usually drop call after one ring. I deliver this phone to toshiba serive center. In Hong Kong, Toshiba is selling through Chevalier. The service lady has very good manner. "Soory for lots of background noise. This means this phone has very good reception. For the other problems, they are not a matter of Toshiba. This is due to Microsoft Windows problem. So, we have noway to solve it. I can try to reset." Then, hundred times of sorry. Not thing improved after reseting. Toshiba never takes responsibility of what it sold.

  • Hello Dears How i can get my contact nymber from the Sim card

  • the phone is not touch screen and the wi-fi is easy to activate it.start>options >connections>wi-fi connection.it might not work if you don't have any internet provider around you.when you connect to a internet connection is asking for wep key.you need to know this except if the internet is free .

  • I've got a problem to use the phone like a modem to nagigate in internet, can you help me?thanks a lot.N

  • guys please tell me is it touch screen phone or not?

  • how to use wi fi and i am not able to operate internet in toshiba g500.please tel me .

  • Hey, CPU frequency of G500 is 420 MHz not 312!

  • @SHARMA - Leave the useless Pocket Media Player... Install the freeware TCPMP (Google this abbreviation) or the commercial version of the same program named CorePlayer. Both support ALL kids of AVI, MP3 and OGG formats + straming flash video (YouTube, MetaCafe, etc.). The only difference is that TCPMP supports subtitles via 3rd party plug-ins, while the CorePlayer does not.

  • i have thosibha g 500 mobile i go to youtube website can't open videos because not support media player which media player supported tell me pls i buy this ph before 2 month still now not seeing vedio help me my dear friends

  • u can use5c

  • Nothing comparing to HTC devices...

  • i like that toshiba g500 phone.

  • Just put it into /Windows/Rings folder (create the folder if needed). Very intuitive, isn't it? :)

  • i have this phone fore more than one year now. the beste mobile i've ever had i woudn't change it 4 nothing. but now i have problems with my battery. i've heard that is has a nokia compatible battery, but which type? thx guys. pls replay to [email protected]

  • very Good Mobile, But who knose about TOSHIBA

  • What are the addition features of Toshiba G500 among Other models...?

  • NIce looking phone however i have never used a toshiba anything for that matter but i have a feeling this phone will be of poor performance.

  • anyone know how you add a personalised ringtone to this phone. There isn't an option to save as ringtone which I would expect, and the manual sheds no light on the matter either!! Thx

  • well, i bought it 7 days ago and allthough i used to despise windows mobiles, i love this one! it's very good, has a really fast wi-fi connection,a good interface, not much of a camera of course, but camera is not all that matters on a smartphone.adding the fact that i bought it for only 89euros....it was a real bargain!!!!!!

  • I have a chocolate fire guard thats more reliable then this.

  • Hi,can anyone tell me from where I can download the software CD for free? I just bought the phone, it is awesome, but it came without the CD. Thanks

  • This phone sucks. WM5 sucks too. Was using Symbian S60 3rd, switched to this phone for 1 week. Big disappointment. A simple function will require 4-5 clicks. e.g. In messaging, switching from Inbox to Sent Box requires you to dig into the menu, select folder and pick the folder... Holy not making sense. Immediately switched to Samsung i450 after 1 week of G500. Loving my Samsung now.

  • hi, i am happy wth d mobile

  • awsome phone! love it!

  • I can't really see Toshiba's Future with mobile phones, they have made some good handsets but their competiton is going nowhere, I mean, what's a G500, why are the copying the likes of Samsung and Sony Ericsson, why are they trying to ashame the big names in the Cellular World? They should just give up and continue making what they normally make like Televisions and DVD Players and stop trying to mock the Mobile Phone World. I rest my case!!!

  • fingerprint reader can store 'all' of your finger prints.. all ten! they can be linked for launching applications before going deep down the menu. very useful feature but wont work while eating fried chicken..with advanced usb connectivity we have a little pc-clone here I must add.. cute. On the other hand I noticed that gsm reception indoors is a little weak, could be my gsm operator though.

  • fingerprint reader on the back can browse selection bar with the same hands pointing finger. if you wanna lock the phone with that you have to setup a simple pincode too. wifi strong, lacks of good UI. feels solid in general. slider does not answer calls but ends it(?). use with 2gb toshiba miniSD card. camera not that good but if you rely on phone for your next gallery then even toshiba cant help you .)

  • I have it. it's a quite awesome little toy for that price. if you install the starttoolkit freeware it feels like a little simcard-free wifi vista device.. lots of freeware out there.. if you have a toshiba laptop like me .. thats the 'phone' for you.. didnt mind for gps since the price diffrence with gps enabled phones allows you to afford an extra gps device and have a nice evening out.

  • I have it. The finger print is useful in case you lose the phone and noone wont be able to access it. Also stops from random ppl accessing it. Quite usefull. The phone works on any GSM network. So, will work in US/Canada

  • Can it work in Japan???

  • i dont have this phone but curious about the finger print feather that this phone has. is it good, useful....?

  • Does it work in Canada and USA?

  • I've received a gift (G500) but the language is set to greek, does anyone know how to change it to english or to reset the phone.

  • i bought it today and im still happy of it, but ringtone and music from its speaker is so god damn quiet that i doo know how i will live with it;(

  • Hi Is dere anyone who cd help me with dese details USB transfer speed from phone mem to PC and vice versa from Memory card to pC n vice verssa similary for Blueetooth device i got this phone but its crashed . i need it for my project details example i need the time in seconds and size of file in KBytes thank you

  • Is it a Symbian phone or not guys? Kind regards

  • toshiba g500 w/out speakerphone

  • touch screen or not? I think not..? How many inches is the display at all??? tnx

  • i wanna buy this phone coz i think its cool,,but i have a questions. Its using touchscreen? and how to operate the microsoft office if its not using touchscreen?

  • i just purchased this phone a couple weeks ago... is it me or the reception is low on this phone? i've actually have more probs with it then any of my other phones... dont get me wrong i still think this phone is awesome but theres kinks that toshiba needs to work out.

  • I don't have toshiba G500, but as for locking the keypad, try holding the red button (for hanging up calls), that might be it. And for the underline, while writing the message, press and hold the # key. That should bring up all the special symbols (like slash, dot, semicolon etc), so you should be able to choose the underline.

  • what about the video specs of this phone?resolution, FPS,format???

  • The best phone ever. it's has everything you need...even more.a little slow although. anyway i totaly recomand to buy this smartphone

  • I just bought the new Toshiba Portg G500 and how do you lock your keypad? and when i write am sms, email, etc. i can't find the underline( _ )anyone has the same problem?

  • Bluetooth is 2.0v with (A2dP).. 1.2 for miniusb. Looks good, great phone toshiba came out, like there laptops[Got 2 of toshiba dual core n finger print reader] Yes fingerprint reader is very useful. Incase of private things on your phone, you could lock. [The reader is on back of phone when u slide it out] Also if u get the phone stolen no one can get into it unless they know how relfash the firmware. [Most thieves don't know how to do that ] All in All Better than Iphone and Cheaper. [ F700 is also better iphone] Iphone = Brand

  • Im curious about the fingerprint reader does it work? Is it usefull?

  • [email protected] i want to buy a cellphone...with a good camera...and maybe wi-fi... this camera is good? or sony's cameras is better??? thanks

  • i got this phone & is really a advance phone now avalable in the market. fingerprint reader, wireless, bluetooth etc..i personall think its a all rounder and is packed full of feature. i honestly recomend this phone

  • Got one a week ago and gotta say it's hot. Very cool and useable. Clear easy to use interface and menu set-up. the biometric finger print sensor is so cool and you can navigate using it as well.

  • radio fm?

  • hello im looking forward to buy this phone but i wanna know if the speaker quality is good or not. Which speaker is better N95 or Toshiba G500? thank you

  • Ergonomically pretty good, functionally excellent. Downside, it turns off randomly every hour so I have sent it back. Took a risk going toshiba and proved to be risky. Would not recommned, it is good and both G500 and G900 will probably be excellent in later versions but I would recommend stearing away from the first versions available or you may suffer the same fate as me... Tony

  • On says that it has Bluetooth V2.0 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate).

  • Of course business users need BT v2.0, to use it for a data connection to a laptop. It's a HSDPA phone

  • it has 320x240 resolution andconsidering that itsmade by japan for japan then it should be very good

  • Who cares about bluetooth 2.0? This is a business phone. It's looks awesome.

  • where is url toshiba mobile official site?

  • Well, basicly all WM5 mobile screens are 65k colors. The screens still looks good.

  • If the screen is only 65k, then whats the point of having it with a poor screen?

  • As a new brand with HSDPA & Wireliss in this size ?!? ITS PERFECT but i hope the menu is flexable 2 use .

  • look at features very advance mobile

  • Bluetooth 1.2 only? Buy this? I don't think so! A new high spec phone like this without stereo bluetooth v2.0? Stupid

  • cooool features yar

  • Design is cool I think... Will it be shipped to Europe?
