it varies unit to unit,im using the phone since 3 years and im facing no issues except the glass back has stracthed up a bit,.rest it works the same as it used to b4 3 years. Also stop complaining here ,its not xiaomi's website.

I'm not too sure what many of the other posters are doing, but this screen is fine & isn't fragile at all. I've had this phone since launch and have never used a case or screen protector (or any other protective accessories) and my screen is perfectly fine (even to this day). It just most likely means that the others are just mistreating their phones. (AND yes, I use it as my daily driver and I handle it pretty roughly. There isn't even a single scratch in sight on the screen.) Don't listen to them. It's a great phone, but the only real gripe is the storage space... Do yourself the favor and spend a little more to get the 64GB version. The 16GB version just doesn't cut it.

Used this in 2016 sold it because of the 2 main reasons: 1.) I cant seem to update apps, play store kept saying storage is already full even though I still had 12GB available. 2.) The front cam turned purple with one video call, dont know what happened suddenly turned that way. Battery life is strong and battary backup depends on ur use per day. its screen size 5'' its means it must be handy. but cons are the Redmi 4A introduce hybrid slot (3 in 2) use. nano sim/microsd+micro sim. u get 16gb internal where u can get usable memory as 10gb something. u also get 2gb ram. its an awesome for constant uses. overall its jus a perfect for all....

Very worst mobile in my life last 8th I m using mi4.. Specification it's 4G but it's only support 3G.. Battery it's shows 3080mah but since2 month if using 1hr for only what's app or normal chat also battery null it means battery validity only 4-6 month.. If I watch video battery! Just think urself.. Very worst .. In service center ppl also so much attitude in Bangalore .. I asked for battery there is no stock it's take 15 days cost 2500. Batter to take new handset..

I bought the mi4 3 days ago and so far I've tested the performance, camera, gaming, media and i updated the phone's software to miui 8. This device has so far given me no problems at all. The battery life is great. It sure does feel like a premium device. Xiaomi did good with this phone. No memory card slot is not a problem for me as this phone has OTG support. Overall I'd give this phone a 8.5/10

I would suggest not to buy ant Xiaomi mobile. Myself and my office colleagues had very bad experience. First the camera was out of order after 6 months of purchase. Then memory card could not be detected. Still have the same problem. Went to two service centres in Kolkata (out of 4 four for 1 crore people) which overcrowded. Counter persons said it will take at least 2 hours to deposit the mobile and it may take 2 months to get it repaired. So, verify the fact and then buy Mi phone and dont go by craze.

very bad experience about Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 purchased from mi store Order number 5170215611630476.. 15-Feb-2017 12:08 pm Delivered 22-Feb-2017 02:23 pm after using it for 10 days it started giving problem ON OFF key stopped working then volume key stopped only volume could be increased but could not be reduced was able to start on because of finger scanne, it stoped charging when i mailed the problem mr email me to follow some instruction and send screen shot did as per his email but was not able to go ahead as volume key was not functioning email him the sreen short but he did not reply called customer care they told me to visit MI store at prime mall vile parle west mumbai on visiting care center and waiting for one and half hour was told that they dont have parts to replace and will take 10 to 12 working days to rectify the problem when i told them that the handset is just 12 days old and this problem. To this i was socked by their reply they said mi device gives problem after 10 to 12 days that is why company has made a policy of replacement in 10 days and this is not applicable in my case as its 12 days old this did not end here i handed my hand set to care center and left. after an hour i received a message saying your handset is ready for pickup i was socked as care center told 10 to 12 days and within hour it was rectified i called mi care center but no one answered so try and test mi device with in 10 days as it will give problem after that as per their service center

Have been using the 64 GB Version since last 2 years now, already ordered OP3T, but initially it performs good, but I don't know what went wrong with MIUI Updates, after the last update phone started heating up, and heat up like a ball of fire, had to replace mother board once, thank god it was under warranty, and the issues came cropping up now, phone does not gets charged when mobile data is on and it takes ages to get charged. The clear option is to perform a factory reset .. But if you want to investigate more .. you can download es file manager and check with it .. But let me tell you that 40% of your memory that means you have more than 10GB free .. right ? that's pretty much .. :) system takes about 3 GBs of memory .. so you have about 2 GBs taken between apps and photos and cache .. so .. seems fine ..

i think they are 2 different phones. Mi4 is 5" display, Zuk Z1 is 5.5" .. so it's pretty much your preference .. Normal or bigger phone .. ? Other than the screen size i see no much difference, in terms of performance of battery life .. although personally I prefer MiUi software better than cyanogen .. :)

i used it from desember '15 until now and i have none big issues for using it. altough my screen is crack bcz i'm the one who always drop his phone LOL. But it can fix if you use a quality tempered glass. camera is awesome at it's price even if you compare it with iphone 5s . the HDR completely make it perfect :-). no serious lag super smooth ^_^ so i never regret for buying this phone and by the way in indonesia it's prize going really down about USD $130 and it can't compare to any phone in this price range

No doubt phones of Xiomi are best but after sales service is worst. Before buying their phones just visit their service centres and see all chaos there. No spare parts available. To all customers they give one or two months waiting time even for a small charging jack problem. They are not maintaining stock of any spare. Waiting for spare parts are upto 3 months. In a day there are 200 to 300 customers visiting service centre and staff is not able to attend them.

The mi4 is a GREAT phone, especially for the price today... however, even the 4G/LTE version has a very limited number of bands which makes LTE useless for most EU or US carriers even if your phone is a mi4 LTE (you can check the bands available in the specs and compare them with the ones available from your providers). Newer phones like the mi5 or mi4c have the EU most popular 3 and 7 bands (but lack the 20), so LTE will work in most europe but you have to check... this is nothing new however; all other phones have various versions for different parts of the world with different bands but since xiaomi is just focusing on the china/india market up to now, they don't care about international lte yet...

Review of the Mi4 with MIUI 8.0.2.0 update: Pros: Marshmallow 6.0.1 Phone still has enough of horsepower and runs smoothly. Cons: Phone still gets hot when you play a game or while charging. The GPS does not lock on to your location when using Google maps or Here Maps. Multiple games and other apps do not load at all. A blank screen is all you recieve. The phone restarts randomly multiple times on any given day. The audio speaker output has diminished a lot. Can't even hear the phone ring when outdoors.

Performance wise... phone is good. But it restarts often. Sometime because of power button being pressed even without a touch. Phone was upgraded just once from 4.4.4 to 6.0. Rare upgrades makes the phone experience very bad. Customer care never responds to your request. Will never take a xiaomi phone again.

it's a good phone in that price, i'm sure that u can't find any phone like that with same price. software and battery have nth to complain, although it's a little fragile :) screen can b broken immediately if u drop. about camera, it has 2 types of sensor, Sony sensor and Samsung sensor. the Sony one is better, if u bought, u should ask what kind of sensor. but its cam is good. idk about 5c camera but 5c doesn't have gyro, which makes it's unable to use VR or AR in some games, like pokemon go :) while mi4 does

The mi4 purchased on 17 nov 2015 has been a great phone not even an iphone 5s and even in some atributes iphone6 matched it. Each time i raise a complaint regarding this, i get a reply saying you need to wait for the bug to be fixed and the issue is already been registered, refrain for registering the same issue again and again.. Those guys seems to think i don't have better work... am raising this again and again as it not been solved yet.. When it will be solved.. no response to that... Been using the marshmallow update for a few days and these are my observations. Pros: Better RAM Management. Cons: My phone takes longer to start up. It randomly restarts. (Happened twice) So far that's all I got. Will update it once I know more. IMO its still worth updating to Marshmallow.

Don't know what's wrong with ur phn. Mine run very fast. I change rom multiple times, played graphic intensive games for hours but it's still working good. May be it's a little outdated but still match today's standards easily. If u want extremely responsive phn consider a Snapdragon 820 or a Excynos 8890 or a SD 652 for budget.

For Asia (China) TD LTE and for rest FDD LTE variants of a super speed network. But now have two variants for ordering CU LTE and CT LTE. CU (Chna Unicom network) LTE support FDD LTE but CT (China Telekom network) LTE support only TD LTE... GSM ARENA don´t manipulaating with facts! Hey there fellows. I've read many of the comments here and here is what I've learned from using MI4. I was amazed with MI4 specs and its price and probably you are too! Here are the major cons about the phone:1) Very weak and unstable GPS signal although the device is seemingly equipped with GPS, Glonass, beidu. Bear in mind that devices with Glonass have better GPS accuracy and stability but not MI4 2) The video recording is pretty bad and camera quality is poor in bright conditions 3) the device heats up badly till it seems it might explode in your hands 4) There's no Gorrila glass on this device and the quality of the LCD and digitizer is poor ,prone to cracks even after a light fall. (Mine cracked twice in just 3 months) and I'm not going to repair it again! Having said all these the device runs pretty smoothly and feels sterdy and solid however the aluminum bezel doesn't prevent the screen from cracking but it only makes the phone heavy. User interface is nice and highly customizable. Hope my comments would help you guys out there and I don't mean to offend any phone retailer. Regards $@M

may be he is using custom rom. i also tried ivan rom 6.0 later i installed 6.0.1 but to install 6.0.1 u need to repartition your mi4 memory which is risky. but rom is super smooth. i am getting 2 gb ram free. bugs: 1. FM radio not working, 2. USB OTG working with stock file manager only, 3. if we try camera hdr option it will freeze the phone.

I have it for a day or so with MIUI7.1 stable version. since 8am today when I have removed from the charger, I have been using with screen on cca 2 hours for work mails, browsing, chatting, etc now it's 2:30PM and the battery is at 86% capacity. So I would not say battery is draining. phone is in balanced mode at the moment in terms of performance. It is still way faster than my Nexus 4 in performance mode. No laggings, no reboots, no freezing. no force closes and I have cca 70 apps installed which from 10 constantly runs in the background as I use this phone for business too, so VPN, Activesync, , citrix, and also social apps also . I only read good stuff from MI4 LTE so I would say yes its a good bargain.

Hi, Guys Never buy any Xiaomi products! I've been loyal to Xiaomi for 2 year, bought in total 3 Xiaomi devices: Xiaomi mipad, Mi4 and Mi4 LTEE. And I am fed up with Xiaomi. First of all, I have problems with Mipad. It just stuck on "Turning on Wi-Fi", which goes forever. I did everything to revive it. Flashed it via MiFlash, via Recovery, Fastboot, ADB and etc. Tried millions of ROM, sometimes problem fades away just to strike you back later with more frustration. And i even didn't used it so much, maybe like 1-2 hours per week. Then my Xiomi mi4 just went bricked while updating from official update app. I have fixed problem via ADB, because other ways didn't work. After about one month, i got black screen issue on my mi4. Screen just goes black randomly. Like on this video Third device, which is another Mi4 LTE is doing fine, but damage is done. Now I am regreting to actually advice my friends to buy xiaomi (and they did, 3 phones: xiaomi note, redmi note 2, mi 3). To summarize, i would give mi4 a 3+ user experience, i was happy with it for 1,5 years. But mipad is A NIGHTMARE! It is just worst device i have ever used. Like totaly aweful product. End of story.

The real fact is, the bulk products which have small defects are sold as bulk in online sites, and offer great reduction in price, On the contrary side second hand mobiles on market reduce their selling rate, so they offer mobile exchange offer for 1/4th the real price. There are 2 variant of Mi 4, the first batch are up to 3G only. The other one is 4G LTE version. Check before you buy! For me, Mi 4 is one of the best, the legendary phone from Xiaomi beside Mi 3. I just bought the white one...looks very sleek indeed. It looks superb...but God, wish I had the black one. The screen is beast, I also use Samsung Note 4 with the Super AMOLED screen that I love so much, and Mi4's screen is not disappointing at all I think the glossy back cover of the white one will be worn off with times, so to use a protector is very recommended Yes, too bad it's only single sim phone, since i have 3 sim cards, one of them is already on my Note 4 and only another one can go into my Mi4. If you fancy a phone for it looks, Mi4 is worth a try. In performance term, I think it's equal with, let's say, Iphone 5s. The charging is quite fast, but I dont know about the overheat issue yet, since I'm not a heavy user anyway.

Xiaomi Mi phones are all suffering from an over heating problem.I had a redmi 2 which used to overheat a lot and resulted in a motherboard problem. Phone has been in their service centre for 40 days and No signs when I will get it back. I recently bought an Asus Zenphone 2 and no overheating issues at all - even though this is also Android. So Xiaomi does have a problem of overheating which leads to all sorts of other problems in their phones. They may be cheap phones with good specs - but precisely because of this they overheat. So dont believe the jokers who tell you that all android phones overheat. No, only the Xiaomi ones do.

yes this is a big problem because mi4,mi4i,oppo find5 use corning one glass solution(corning concore glass) which improves on touch recognition,latency,thickness and color reproduction but compromises on durability. corning claims this glass to be as tough as gorilla glass. concore glass is actually the touch fused to the glass so you break the glass therefore you break the touch. however, concore glass is more costly to manufacture than gorilla glass so more costly to repair also. it was invented only to make touching screens more interactive but i consider this as a failure.

bro i am using this phone since july 2015 and trust me this device is fabulous piece of tech. there is no overheating at normal usage be it wifi,browsing,music playback and stuff like that. it only heats during intensive gaming and this is my 23rd android device so i know what is heating and what is overheating. and quickcharging works as said no such issue but i use tronsmart quickcharger to charge the device(even supplied charger is quickcharger), i charge from 10% to 50% in around 25 mins. performance is good. ram management is very very good you will enjoy multitasking on this device. however cons are no 4g support for india, only single sim, the chamfered mettalic edges scratch with time, display is very good but mi4i has a marginally better 1080p panel(better black levels and outdoor legibility) and one plus x has super amoled so even better.

A brilliant phone, excellent camera, and the UI is also as fluid as it can be. The phone never hangs and its very fast in terms of processing and I never had any issues in terms of heating of the device. But I must say that the phone is not at all durable. It will rarely survive any falls. I know it has a gorilla glass but of no use. As soon as it falls the screen gets cracked and the touch stops working too. This happened to me twice Other phones with cracks are usable but if this gets a crack the touch doesn't work. My friend had similar issues. He too had a mi 4 and the same happened. So its not just my device. The phone is not durable at all.

Mi3 is better and has less issues. Mi3 battery is significantly better. However, Mi4 camera is better is low light. Mi4 also has a critical bug that causes battery drain in standby mode, as I've mentioned (see earlier posts). However, is Mi3 still available for sale? It is not longer available in India at least.

Just put your on Airplane mode and enjoy bugs. :) This is one amongst many bugs in MIUI, but this is probably the most critical one. Battery backup is much lower than Mi3. And Kitkat may not be a drawback. Lollipop and Marshmallow have tons of serious bugs. Android was relatively better only till Kitkat. Let us hope for a relatively bug free MIUI ROM, rather than one on the latest OS. Besides, MIUI give you some of the new features anyway.

Mi4 has a critical bug that causes severe battery drain in standby / Airplane mode. You just need to activate airplane mode once or twice to see the effects! This causes hardware damage and also reduced battery life. This has been a known bug since MIUI 6 but Xiaomi has been ignoring it till date. To get Xiaomi's attention to, please follow this link to MIUI forums and just click the "Confirm" button (in the 1st thread itself). Xiaomi pays more attention to bug reports with more confirmations. You will need to log into your MIUI account or create a new one there, which will take half a min. Please also consider posting your rant in the thread, if possible. MIUI 6: en.miui.com/thread-160209-1-1.html MIUI 7: en.miui.com/thread-183026-1-1.html In case you aren't using Airplane mode, please do it anyway, as it may still effect battery life and you never know when you will need it. Ideally, you should be using Airplane mode at least every night (if you don't need to be on call all through the night). Just use it on your devices and see how your battery back up increases. Also use it in areas of nil or fluctuating network, as the phone uses significantly more battery in such areas. Battery loss when in Airplane mode should not be more than 0 to 1 % per night/day. Switching phone off instead of using Airplane mode is not a good idea as it takes more battery and causes needless wear.

Using this cell phone from last 8 months, I guess this is the right time to write a review. While.While buying the same please follow the customer reviews once. 1.Well the camera quality is good especially the front one , but the pictures taken show the false colours to an extent. 2. The battery backup is good, no issues with that. 3.The display and touch are the best among features. 4.Heating issue is always there even during talking for a long time gives the unbearable heat. 5.while playing few games the phone hangs and starts restarting on its own. 6.I have been facing issues with mic since I bought the phone, may b 5 times till now and only restarting fixes it. 7.Specs show 3 GB of RAM while I doubt over the same. 8.The weight issue is there, bears a bit of extra weight. 9.These days I am facing a major issue now, the phone switches off automatically.After reset the issue persists and doesnt start when only miui logo appears . 10.No 4G i guess 11.No dual sim And more faults exist, I would suggest not to buy this crap more more then 10k.Rest choice is yours but trust me it will frustate you.I think you can invest may b 6 OR 7k may be some REDMI with this company.I bought mine at 24K and I regret my decision.You better dont buy it.

when you buy your xiaomi, it comes with a shiny sticker; if the sticker is color and metallic, its a real. if the sticker is missing, its probably a fake overall excellent phone, very good screen, i like the miui os and the camera is excellent; it only lacks ois for action shots. The performance is over-average and it could easily compete with iphone 6/galaxy s5 if not better. Love it,would definitively recommend

i agree too, i use this phone in Indonesia, after using it for 6 months i never get this phone hang. this phone is best, i also play around 25 or more games in it, no lag, no crash and every games run smooth. yes, it's heat but not much. even though i use armor case, the phone is wrapped with rubber and a little aluminium but when it heat, the phone still running well. NB : nice try competitor :D

my mi4 gets fully charged from 5% to 100& in 90 to 100 mins with the provided charger. and i get around 7 hrs of on-screen time with miui 7 developers build. i can only imagine it getting better wid marshmallow update in coming months. the phone gets heated during charging and heavy tasks but nothing too serious. the only issue is that mi4 is still stuck on android 4.4 kitkat.

Never ever go for xiaomi, whatever they say its always half of it inside. Too much of chinese stuff inside. The GPS will always show an error of more than 2 kilometers. Instead go for trusted brands who give you what they promise i.e. Apple, Motorola, Micromax, Lenovo etc.

I bought Mi4 three months back and I am very much satisfied with the performance of this phone. I updated MIUI after purchase and did not face any heating issue. The hardware of the phone is at par with any Sony/Samsung high end phone at just half of the price. The battery life is quite good compare to other android devices. The camera quality is pretty clear. The phone is having large display (5 inches) which is suitable for watching videos. the sound quality (while receiving the call) is also good. The most amazing thing is the design of the phone with stainless steel edges which gives rich look to the device. Although I am not gaming enthusiast but so far I did no see any lag is responce with MI4 despite installing about 80 applications. I strongly recommend the phone to the users looking at value of money.

You mean mtk 6795. Well if you have money for mi4 then choose snapdragon as it's easy to get custom roms and also you get official cm12.1 but mtk don't have much roms. Otherwise mtk's raw power is better than 801 but gpu is weaker than Adreno 330

People who are facing issues of noise showing up while using Camera during low light mode. Switch to Manual mode and change the exposure time greater than or equal to 1/2secs. I bet u will not find any noise catching up and to support that, guys its aperture is f1.8 designed to work in low light mode. So, if you want to unleash its camera switch to Manual mode and be a pro photographer!!!!

Guys, People having doubt on its support over 4G in India. Yes it supports 4G, provided you must have airtel subscription. It may show WCDMA and GSM in Mobile Networks but the WCDMA bands of MI4 matches the frequency bands of Airtel 4G. Trust me guys i am using 4G in Bangalore

Pull down notification panel, click on setting icon then count till exactly 11th tab (...) which is additional setting tab, click on it then go to tab 4th which is language and input tab click on it then in first tab you will get language option, change here as English. Hope it helps.

I got my Xioami Mi4 just a few days ago and I only get to charged it after the battery gets low. Upon charging, I noticed a greed led light, signifying that battery is already charging, when the time that the led color turns out differently, I supposed this time battery charging was almost full, because of the different led light, I was expecting a 100% fully charged battery, but upon turning it on, I only got 87% of the charged battery.. Why so? There's no any instruction on the manual regarding this, so suddenly I get real confused... Please someone enlighten me... Thanks...

I am using it. Trust me I am a heavy user and use my phone all the day. Battery backup is par above all the flagship phone in this phone and phone does heat up when you play high end graphics game. Well its the same with every smartphone. Battery backup is like 10 hours and 9-9.5 hrs for heavy users.

If you are considering mi4 you can also consider 1+1(one plus one).it also has a snapdragon 801 and shall not lag. Even in benchmarks it's performance is slightly better than mi4. :)

I am xtremmeeeeeee user.. need a hanset which don't lags on heavy usage and have bestttttt battery... confused between mi4, galaxy s5, z2 and lg g3.. You can also switch to performance mode if you are using normal tasks, as phone will respond quickly. In balance mode it uses only two cores and other two goes to sleep. For some heavy games you should on performance mode so it will run smoother. Performance mode it do not cause any damage to phone, but eats more battery as compare to balance mode. (as four cores are active at the same time) .choice is yours ! :)

Indian version MI4 doesnot support 4G as it doesnot support the 4G bands in India and the LTE version has not been realeased in india so if u r happy with 3G speed then go for it its a great phone personally have one no issues with internet speed as currently using vodafone 3G on it and it runs like a charm yes but will have to upgrade to a 4G handset once the 4G infrastructure is developed in india....so if ur buying a phone now my advice go for a 4G handset...

Hi , As Mi4 has quad core processor i.e. phone has four cores . In balance mode phone uses only two core out of four, but in performance mode phone uses four cores so the total output is much faster than balance mode hope this clarifies.
