  • RIP Redmi Note 3 (MIUI 7 - MIUI 10.2). It will receive stable MIUI 10.2 next year January as the last one. For developer version, it is the upcoming MIUI 10 dev 8.11.22 as the LAST one. Here is the link: For next year, I suggest you guys go and use custom ROM / stick with stable ROM if you still hold dear to it. OR it's just time to upgrade to Redmi Note 5 at least, but that comes with Anti-Rollback Protection being enforced. Another way is if you don't mind the NOTCH, get Redmi Note 6. Another option is to get 2nd hand Redmi Note 4 but that is also going the way of the dodo as possibly MIUI 11.x will be the last one. So going by Xiaomi's software upgrade logic as of now, all Xiaomi smartphones and tablets as of current will only get 4 major MIUI updates which is down from the previous 5 major MIUI updates last year. IMHO, now it's just another PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE for you to upgrade to a newer device every 3 years which costs more than what you have. Although I applaud Xiaomi for giving long MIUI software support for it's devices, I am guessing Google (ever since Treble) is FORCING smartphone OEMs like Xiaomi to only have 3 year software support, in line with Google's update policy.

  • Using the 3/32gb Mediatek version for the last 2 years. Still running smoothly, but I need to change the battery to increase backup. The camera is not at par with other brands of same price range, otherwise no major issues. I was hesitant while buying it but after more than 2 years, I am impressed.

Stops receiving calls and making calls all of a sudden I realize this every time only by noticing the miss call alerts, I tried many tricks and solutions suggested on different sites, it did not work. 2. Head phone of other brand doesn't work properly. While using Mi headphone Once I remove the head phone, I am unable to hear sound as the phone is unable to come out of headphone mode. 3. auto fill mode will always be on no matter how hard I try to switch it off. If I need to modify a sentence it is hard to do that as the auto fill automatically creates meaningless words I have to delete the whole write up and rewrite all and this happens while writing a note, filling a form, .... This is unable to fulfill even the basic need of mine to make calls and receive calls forget other functions. I feel stuck with this phone. Perhaps I shall not buy this brand phone again and will change this ASAP. I do not suggest anyone buy this phone.

  • The phone does not have official support for Marshmallow, so you must be using a custom rom, either seek help on the forums for that custom rom, or flash stock again.

After so many problems when I went to the service center they said me that It would take 25 working days to replace the damaged part. I won't say that all the redmi phone are faulty but the service is worst as compared to other brands.   • I don't know what the real problem is, but recently I faced screen touch error and the touch totally stopped working so I had to wait until the battery drained out. Luckily it was at 12% so I took 3 hours to switch off the system automatically. I couldn't switched it off earlier because power off option appears on screen and the touch was inaccessible. Again today when I tried to call someone, phone switched of automatically and I was confused what to do because it didn't respond to power button. It took 1 hour and then suddenly it came back to life itself.....it's warranty is up till this month but service centres are almost at the end of the world and pick me service is unavailable nearby so I am stuck with this phone.

Within 3 months the wifi function of the phone stopped working. When I took it to the service centre they said, its a software problem, it ll be fine within a day. When I went back, they said its a hardware problem and we ll have to replace the motherboard, it ll take at least 30 days. I mean how can they make someone wait for 30 days. I asked the service say to give me my phone till the parts come. He said he cannot. Trust me guys, there were 10 more people who had come with the same problem. Some were saying then after replacement their phone isnt functioning like before. These people are only taking money and cheating.   • My Redmi Note 3 has had intermittent charging problems since new. Often I plug it in and it does not charge, or the amount of charge drops. Other times it charges slow. (Very occasionally it charges fast). I have tried different cords and wall plugs, but it seems random whether they work or not. I have also tried turning the phone off before charging and running the battery down to below 5% before charging. Sometimes these things seem to work, and other times they dont. It is very frustrating and the xaiomi forums dont have any advice other than to take the phone to a service centre. There are no service centres in Australia. I think I will replace the phone, having got only 6 months use out of it.

  • I bought this phone 3 days ago, and as a former iPhone user i must admit, so far the red mi note 3 is a very good product! it works just fine and the battery life is great. After 24h normal use , that is video streaming, extended video chatting, play music, internet surfing, in short all except gaming, it still has 20 -30% charge left, the camera, sound quality and display all satisfy me .   • Check device firmware version with xiaomi website whether it matches. Some devices are shipped with a firmware called vendor firmware. If you have on of those firmwares you will not get any updates.

  • Hi sir. Hope all are doing well. Brought MI note 3 with many hopes but was felt very sad due to some issue with mobile. I do not know whether my piece has this problems or every once. MI is nice mobile and has made good grip in present scene and no doubt in that but how ever my mobile has got so problems listed below. 1 when ever I plug my charger nothing will happen it will take minimum 15 to 20 min to indicate the charging level. And it won't happen always sometimes it do and sometimes not 2. Mobile get simply restart 10 - 15 times a day 3. Some times it go worse like screen background becomes black and no options will work. It will just hang up 4. And the sensor beside the front camera suppose to off the screen temporarily when we are on call but it doesn't work. It suppose to work even on lighter shade appearances. My above hi-lights are just to make improvements on your upcoming handsets Please provide me solution.

  • for price from 130-180 us dollars you get very good device,MTK version is okay but Snapdragon is better cuz Snapdragon version is same price but has android 6.0.Battery lifetime is very good even with his 5,5'' display (big displays big battery usage),also stock system MIUI is very good on battery usage percentagy (friendly),personally im using now China Development rom which is now on MIUI 8 (got new apps that can clone apps,gives more privacy,boosts camera and such things).Camera on daylight is very very good (especially for macro modes with HDR - well its not samsung S7 or iPhone 6splus but is okay),at night or in room is not that good.Processor power and ram managment are generally good on both versions MTK and Snapdragon and on 2gb ram or even 3gb,works perfect,personally i didnt had any lag/freeze (that maaaaaaybe can happen if you are stupid enough to not close some heavy apps-like if you have it 10 or more open at moment,but i think no one is that much stupid :) ) Microphone and Earphone are good,Loudspeaker is not so loud (i had even louder phones :)) but does job very well,Fingerprint sensor works flawlessly (make couple users under fingerprint and all with same your own finger,just to be 1000% sure he will read it every single time - thats trick im using :D ),Front (selfie) camera is okay,but could be better.Btw this is low price device,what do you want more ? :)

  • Guys *over* heating for this phone is normal,especially when using him on charger while on internet (that is absolutely normal thing on all devices even Apple ones)-so avoid using device internet while on charger.Im using Redmi Note 3 MTK almost 4 months and sometimes i have experienced couple days ago while temperatures outsides was about 40 degrees of Celsius some heating of phone like he will burn my hand (but i was using phone internet and device was on charger,but when i took him off charger and continued to use him,temperature of device was a lot smaller...and that is ok).So to be clear,this device dont have such heating issues like you are describing,cuz my bro have same device,my gf and couple of my friends,after all its not PC to have cooler inside housing.When writing some device is heating,please have in mind other factors that can be reason for heating (sweatty hands,surounding temperature and even complexity of thing that you are doing on your device-playing music/games/videos/using wifi/phone net..etc you get it).Beside RMN3 i have iPhone 5 and to be honest apple is good and that all,but my iPhone 5 (first one) was heating in January (not so warm temperatures) and he was not on charger and still was heating insanely so i have complained to store and they have changed my device with new one,so my iPhone 5 (second one-im using) is heated like first one and now in Summer time he is burning my d4mn hands to be honest when using internet (not on charger),but when i connect him on charger sometimes i think he will freakin explode.

  • Well pro variant has micro SD card slot,and you can use either 2 SIM cards or one SIM and one micro SD card. BUT you can search on YouTube for DIY hack that let's you use 2 SIM cards and micro SD card at the same time. Good luck!

You have google apps preinstalled and pro version will most likely get android 6.0 with miui 8 which is coming on June 17th,and MTK version wont(not sure, xiaomi didn't say anything about that). Or wait and see will It get android 6.0 but I think it won't ever get global rom because it is not realised globally. And pro version is more powerful than MTK(16mpix>13mpix,snapdragon soc>stupid MTK soc). And buy 3GB ram variant because ram management is poor,hope they'll fix it in future! Good luck!

  • i am using redmi note 3 32 gb, but what i was facing was it was overheating very much while playing games, also many google apps did not respond or work on it, so i did a hard reset just as we do while installing any custom rom we do a hard reset , and now it is working perfectly all apps are responding but there is still that overheating problem while playing games. if we receive a phone call while playing you cannot take the call coz it is so heated your ear will burn , have requested a return on amazon lets see what happens.

  • The only issue I see is the fingerprint that sometimes does not work. Heating is fine. I can say 98% of time is fine. Really fast, battery is awesome ( I start using 7am and when I get hope usually 8PM I still have 30~40%). Camera is average but good for the price. I have the mtk red mi note and bought a redmi note 3 pro to my wife. I would say PRO is 50% faster (on entity benchmark)

  • i also found same. i have called several time to pick service they simply making us fool thet we will call within 24 hrs . my phone is not booting after uploading update . no service in chattish gargh.never buy such a phone.

  • Worst phone ever. lots of problems- -over heating -poor camera - battery drains so fast, I charge my phone 6 times in a day - sound does not come while calling - low speaker volume - poor charger - need to reset to Factory setting within 15 days So I'll suggest you not to buy this phone.

  • i decided to sell my Redmi Note 3 and i already bought Zenfone 2 Laser ZE500KL (5", 13mp/5mp, 2400mah battery), i am really happy with it because: 1) Marshmallow update (yay) 2) 3-slots card: 2-sim, 1-sdcard (up to 128gb) 3) camera camera camera i love to take pictures. Main camera is wayy better, low light is very good compared to Redmi Note 3 (uwaaargh). Main camera also has "manual mode" which allow you to control shutter speed, manual focus etc manually, but Redmi Note 3 manual mode only provide basic adjustment like ISO. Front camera is wide angle vs not wide on Redmi Note 3 (bad for selfie). 4) battery only 2400mah but for real it feels like it will last forever lol 5) DOUBLE TAP TO WAKE 6) laser focus (very good to focus close object on low light) 7) no heating problem but few cons that i dont really mind: 1) 720p res (i don't mind because its only 5" screen) 2) snapdragon 410 (well i only play casual games like CoC, Crossy Road, Moe Girl Cafe etc. so i don't need mammoth's heart on my device right?) 3) no fingerprint (i don't lock my phone so its useless) 4) 2gb ram (as long as you are smart enough, 2gb is enough for most task) 5) 16gb internal (i don't install many apps so its fine with me) zenfone 2 series with 5.5"and above screen size has better specs, i intentionally bought 5" model because it is smaller and lighter, easy to carry around and 1 hand use.

  • Its been one month I am using redmi note 3, I didn't had any problem until the last update. The phone heats so much for even lite use. Before updating it was absolutely perfect.

  • Even i am facing the same issue. And in my case my mobile data still works and i am not able to make calls and get a incoming call,untill i restart. They should fix this issue.

  • The one issue I observed with this phone is that whenever you go out of network area and then come again in network then Phone stays out of network only. I have to restart to get the network back. Not sure what is causing this..surely not an issue with my sim card as I have checked with other devices.

  • Only advantage is it is have finger print sensor. Nothing else.. having heating issue while plug in.camara is not that much good.
