Yota YotaPhone 3 - User Reviews

  • Yota 3+ maual writes: Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) value: The maximum specific absorption rate of YOTA 3+ mobile phone is

  • Does anyone knows the SAR ( radiation) of this phone ? Thank you

  • I've bought from yotaeshop my Yota 3+. Delivered to Europe in 3 weeks. I like it so much. However I've found a small problem with it: photo apps freeze. It likes only it's original photo app. I was frightened when aknowledged bankrupty of Yota mobile brand. I am so sorry about it, I wouldn't own Yota 4 this way.

  • But yota is in bankruptcy, so I don't know if it is safe to buy it.

  • Any idea if the yota 3+ has been released and from where to buy? Thanks

  • Can you please advise from where you boaght the international version? Thanks

  • Yotaphone company already bankrupt..lmao

  • yota3 does support indian bands

  • I could hardly wait to buy the official YOTA 3+ international version. Just received. It works with a lot of languages, perfectly mirrors all the app to e-ink. I used Yota2 before it and liked so much, but YOTA 3+ is a wonder.

  • So, the phone can mirror. But, the modified Y3 (with some English and Google) does not include the Yota apps -- without Yota specific apps, the phone is not as versatile as the Yota2. In my opinion, Y3 is a bad purchase. My Yota 2's lcd screen died after a drop; the epd still working. The Y3+ is apparently out, and it is supposedly more 'global' and with yota apps. I mistakenly got a Y3 that was modified/hacked to run some english and google. it's not the same as Y2 (a very good phone).

  • To all Yota enthusiasts -- take note -- the Yotaphone 3 is a China-based phone. Some sellers have modified these devices to include English (and other languages); and to run some Google Play apps. BUT, the Yotaphone 3 is by nature Chinese. That means that restrictions on the hardware and software were 'baked-in' to the phone. There is a newer model Yotaphone 3 + (three plus) -- that is more 'global' by nature. Still waiting for GSM to list the 3+ -- just keep this in mind. I, unfortunately, got rooked by a smartphone store on ali -- by a modified 3. It can never be updated. It has many errors. It cannot run all Google Play apps.

  • with Mirror.apk

  • There is also a company called "Hisense" -- you may have heard of them from their tv sets. Anyway, they have three phones called A2, A2 pro, and A6. They are similar to the Yotaphones. Would your website please see about adding the information for Hisense? Thanks.

  • Do you actually have a YP3? What's the point if you can't receive notifications on the EPD? Can you still mirror the "front" to the "back"?

  • When can be purchased the international (non-Chinese) version? I can hardly wait.

  • yota 3 is it suport to volt lte

  • no nfc, no radio

  • To change language follow the link

  • have you installed google services, mate?

  • just install "google installer", then you will good to go. you can find it on MIUI forum.

  • Yeah I been holding out since Yota2, since I have an S3. But even the S3 is showings its age at this point.

  • No notifications on EPD screen, no customizations for EPD screen. EPD screen not needed then at all...

  • Hi! I bought it about 2 months ago. I can't use it at all. I'm European, I don't speak / understand chinese, I use Android with google apps. Yota3 not support these! I'm waiting for the upgrade but I can't reach the company in english side, there only chinese side! This is horrible, I didn't see such a marketing activity in my life! Yota, please! Care your brand, many people like your earlier product (laki me, too with Y2). It will be a kind step to give an official announcement about the details of the worldwide usable Yota3.

  • At least company should provide tentative release date of the international version without saying "We cannot reveal now" etc.

  • I bought this phone from but there are a couple of issues: 1. I'd like to remove all the Chinese apps I don't need and can't read/understand. Anglicise the phone. 2. It is difficult to install apps that are blocked in China: Google Play Store/Facebook/ Uber (I haven't found a version that works yet). If I live outside of China it should be open for me to download and install whatever app I like. (also YotaPhone is deemed 'Unverifiable' by Google and therefor no official recognition of the phone). 3. When I record video, or use soundrecorder, the video is great but the audio comes out glitchy - like a low bitrate or something - and is unlistenable. I don't know if this is the fault of the microphone OR software. How can I debug/fix this?

  • Please. I want yota phone 3 purchase Address

  • International release is taking too long and Yota company doesnt give a tentative timeline either.

  • some sell it on eBay

  • Is supporting Arabic language ?

  • Chinese are selling it on aliexpress. Some European countries are included in their 'global' warranty (or rather insurance).

  • Does anyone know when this phone is coming to the EU? Im waiting for it;) Gr.

  • When is the Euro version likely to arrive, has anyone an idea?... :(

  • Yas

  • i want to listen to music on long trips while is charging...

  • Sorry, that was the funny comment, I replied the wrong one :)

  • YOTA3 - is the name of Chinese version of the device. Russian and European version will be YOTAPHONE 3.

  • Making 3.5mm jack in the device with USB-C - that's really dumb decision.

  • How and when I can get this phone in india

  • I own a Yotaphone 2, I am so happy with this device. Was waiting for months to upgrade to the newer version .... But now, Yotaphone 3: Looks not so nice as the 2, Is not really fast, and !! just to expensive for what it is. The backscreen ok i will miss it, but i am out Yota. (did prefere the name Yotaphone more too then just Yota)

  • The 64GB version of this device costs 475EUR ... 128GB version costs 550EUR ... The price is killing its market ... It will make more sense if this device costs 350EUR/425EUR.

  • I wonder what will be the European price, I guess it wont be much higher than 300€ with this specs. But the decision to not include a 3.5mm jack is really dumb.

  • Russian and European versions are not ready yet. Chinese version is out already. There was a pre-order since September, 19 for 5 days. All pre-ordered devices (more than 130000) were delivered on October, 25. Now you may purchase it ad JD.com, but I don't recommend you. Chinese version is weaker than Russian and European will be. It has no NFC and no wireless charging support. Also, its e-Ink screen has limited functionality. It can be used only for running limited set of software, designed especially for running on e-Ink screen. It's mostly an e-Book reader and some chinese social networks, popular in China only.

  • I have a YotaPhone2 - absolutely great - the best phone I ever had. I'll try to get Yota3 once it gets to Europe

  • any idea when it is coming to Europe? If already here then which seller selling it already?

  • Mirco SD card is supported. You can have dual SIM or one SIM and a microSD card. See picture:

  • Not even out? ORLY? There are people, who not only purchased it, but received and reviewed it already! Don't play dumb, telling such a bullshit.

  • Man the phone its not even out yet so sellers couldnt known more than this site. Please use brain if you have any.

  • Yes, of course! All the sellers, which got info directly from manufacturer, are mistaken. And only one site, which got info from unknown source (I believe, it's just someone's imagination) is surely right.

  • Even a seller could make a mistake its normal. We are humans and human factor occasionaly makes a mistakes.

  • But thats only your opinion because you cant believe into specs you clearly see.

  • Which rumor are you talking about? Maybe you're not aware, but there was a YotaPhone 3 pre-order a few days ago on jd.com and taobao.com. Pre-order is over now ('till October, 25th), but appropriate items is still there. And ALL of the sellers specified support of MicroSD (TF) cards! Sellers are responsible for accuracy of the specs they provided, 'cause in case of any inaccuracy in item description there will be a claim or a dispute against them. So, they must know all the specs of the goods they are selling and specify them correctly. So, why do you believe what this site says, which reporters never saw YotaPhone 3 and do not believe what YotaPhone 3 sellers say?

  • And why do you think they lie here. I know its a rumor right now but this rumor could became reality. And because its a rumor you cant be 100% sure there are mistakes in these specs as these specs are correct. So maybe the phone will have no SD card slot at all.

  • No. They are certainly mistaken.

  • Because maybe they are not mistakes but truth.

  • I don't know. But I know that there is a lot of mistakes in those specs. And I can't understand why didn't they correct them yet.

  • And why not. Why do you think a person who write thee specs and the pre-rewiev would lie.

  • No. The only thing known is that Russian version will be released by the end of this year. European version will be released later. I guess in 2018.

  • Why do you believe it?

  • I paid 500€ in Finland for OnePlus 5 6GB edition. Hopefully YotaPhone 3 is about the same price range in Europe, and then I'll be interested.

  • Where on specs its said no SD Card. Please read.

  • Do u know the exact release date of European version? I am overwhelmed waiting for the phone.

  • Noone knows why authors do not want to correct mistakes in the specs. 1. It SUPPORTS MicroSD memory cards. 2. It has 3300mAh battery, not 3200mAh. 3. NFC is not available in Chinese version of device (available for pre-order now). It will be available in Russiand and European versions (will be available by the end of 2017). 3. Wireless charging is not available in Chinese version of device (available for pre-order now). It will be available in Russiand and European versions (will be available by the end of 2017).

  • Now it uses Gorilla Glass 4 instead of Gorilla Glass 3. Also, e-Ink screen glass is not 3D now, so it's not so easy to break it. And you can stick a protective glass to it now. Also, there is a special 2-sided cover/bumper available for Yotaphone 3!

  • Maybe that's because you didn't ever used a smartphone with additional e-Ink screen?

  • No. "Understand nothing" means just "understand nothing" and nothing else.

  • If your meaning understanding nothing, meaning to spend big bucks foolishly then I know nothing

  • e-ink screen gives you a lot of advantages.

  • It's a mistery.

  • That's nice idea, if you need a dual screen phone instead of a phone with additional e-Ink screen. But what do you need it for?

  • Pre-order in China started at jd.com on September, 21st and finished within about 5 days. I checked a few hours before pre-order finished and more than 133000 devices were pre-ordered! So, I don't think speified price is not good to start.

  • It has MicroSD slot.

  • It supports MicroSD. And why do you need obsolete 3.5mm jack?

  • You may know everything, but as robogo said, you understand nothing.

  • Version for China do not have NFC and wirless charging. Version for Russia and Europe will have.

  • Actually I know everything about yotaphone these are sub standard products with outdated Soc with ink display a gimmick, if you know what is screen or colour inversion , Also yota come with flagship cost(price )

  • I see you understand absolutely nothing about the Yota.

  • How long does it take to come to Turkey? I want to buy it. But i cannot wait too long.

  • I only discovered that this device is russian yesterday I believed that this device is chinese...cut all of my expectations.

  • Where to buy this device?

  • No micro sd card.. No 3.5 aux

  • Strange phone and expensive for not having an SD Card slot.

  • For the $49 you have to buy a bag to carry the brick you just made...

  • It has sd slot

  • The yota2 had wireless charging so i think it would be a pointless backset if they didnt put it on the yota3. So the answer is most likely

  • does anybody know if wireless charging supported ?

  • I'm surprised how many people just don't get the purpose of the e-ink screen :) I agree that it is overpriced though, it would be worth to buy with better CPU and GPU, or with the leaked prices ($350-$400 for 64GB model) but I don't think it will do well with this prices.

  • The second screen is e-ink, it is mainly for reading.

  • Overpriced outdated Soc, and did we really need second screen. ..? Or this phone is for colour blinds ------×

  • Seems like a good idea!. May be the whole setup should be hammered to get 7.9mm thickness or even less. Ideas are worth trying..!

  • I have and love my Yotaphone 2. But it was way overpriced for a phone with previous years specs (the Snapdragon 810 had been out for a while... I think the 815 was coming out or had just come out - but the Y2 was released with the 801). The price back then was competing with Galaxy series with anything but flagship specs. This time we have an upper mid range 18 month old processor. This places it firmly among the aging mid range devices like the Lenovo P2. So, we should see a price point that is similar or close... but we don't. The Lenovo P2 is about $200. This is about $550. I have an idea: buy to Lenovo P2's, stick them back to back ($1 glue) and save yourself $49 for a dual screen phone!

  • What the heck are they doing, still not releasing the phone. I am overwhelmed waiting for it.

  • any updates about the sd card slot? most sites say that the second sim slot can be used as an sd slot, but here it is still listed as having none.

  • There is no 3.5mm audio jack in YP3. USB-C used instead.

  • Is Yota3 volte enabled phone and support Reliance Jio?

  • he was being ironic....

  • Super pleased with the Yotaphone 2. As with every other phone and screen the e-paper screen should be protected too (yes mine cracked as well after falling to the floor. Will definitely buy version 3 when it is released.

  • U Can Buy It On Ebay.in

  • Its a very good mobile.I had yota 2.But i will not buy again because of the e-ink screen. One day it feld down and the screen broked in hundreds of pieces. With stronger back screen i can buy it again...

  • is it possible get in india?if yes then by which source ? and will it work with indian networks?

  • Hope this time the screen is strong enough. My Yotaphone 2 front screen is very fragile, while the back is tough although without screen protector. E ink should support more apps to make use of it. What's the dimensions? 5.5in sometimes a bit too big for my palm

  • Now you're the only one who tries to make me look like a fool. I bet you're a Yota rep Please, don't get cheap on people just to make a point. It's not necessary to do searches to understand the concept behind the second display. We're in 21st century, B/W is now archaic. But if they still chose an e-Ink display, they indeed have their reasons. My previous comment does not necessarily show my "ignorance", it rather shows a "wish". You made a great point, but trying to make people look foolish is hardly a way to make such point.

  • The idea of Yota phone is to save battery. Please learn more about it then comment. The rear display is from e-ink, which stays the same unless it is refreshed - so doesn't draw any charge, best for reading books and all. e-inks cannot be made in colors, and thus, the secondary display is not color. And if you want another OLED display in the back, the whole idea of Yota phone will be at stake. Please try to learn about it before commenting on it. Don't look like a fool in front of others. Ciao...

  • it is better than the MEIZU awkward screen~

  • I dont see anything attractive in this phone

  • Come on guys! It's time to upgrade this "grayscale" thing on the second screen. Why can't we just get two Super Amoled screen? XD

  • it should have barometric sensor for xcsoar

  • it has but it will occupy the second sim card slot, I don't know who suggest this stupid idea that all companies are following 2 sim or 1 sim and 1 sd card. Stupid Companies

  • I still hope that it will have an sd slot...

  • I hope it will be available in Saudi Arabia. I have been waiting for just the announcement of yotaphone 3 for almost a year .

  • I would like to buy yotaphone3 pls let me know it is available in Bahrain. Or pls send me like online. .

  • I have the Yotaphone 2 and i'm very happy with this phone. The e-ink screen is very good readable in the sun and is very handy to see messages when i'm on the work. I hope the Yotaphone 3 will come to the Netherlands.

  • If you like it ship it to Vietnam now the world is like a small village.

  • come to vietnam, please. i like this phone.

  • The fact that there's capacitive buttons on the bottom of the e-ink display makes me believe that there will be more interaction with the e-ink display this time around.

  • If all of these specs come out to be true, especially the wireless charging, I will definitely choose this phone over the Moto g5s plus

  • In my country i never heard about Yota phones but this one doesnt looks very cool.

  • Perfect Perfect and perfect

  • Only draw back is the lack of SD card, but I can live with a Snapdragon 625 chip. Hope it will be available in Nigeria.

  • Excellent mobile phone .. i have before yotaphone 2 .

  • No sd slot and old processor. Flop

  • CPU is okay, 5.5" is a little on the large side but it's the memory card slot that's deal breaker for me.

  • The Snapdragon 625 is an excellent mid-range 8-core esp. paired with 4GB RAM. Tried other handsets with similar specs and they perform flawlessly. I may be last quarters model but try find a dual-screen handset with better specs :D

  • 5.5" is ideal for a phone and reader. I'll wait for that. I only concern about CPU.

  • it should have a memory card slot and a bigger screen for reading on the e-paper side! Disapointed!!!

  • I've been waiting for this phone to come to the US for about 3 years (about the time yotaphone 2 was supposed to come here). I'll believe it when I see it. Are any carriers in the US expected to have it available for purchase? For me, I'm just amazed that for all the technical wizardry in our present era phones, how is it that no one has come up with an interesting form factor. Just to avoid the usual black rectangle I now have a BlackBerry PRIV. It may not be a spec leader. But, it's plenty of phone for me. I hope yotaphone 3 makes it here. I don't think that there's a PRIV 2 planned.

  • iyota? :d

  • Yes, a better processor would help

  • Waiting as to when this phone would be launched in India

  • Always liked this secondary e-ink display idea. I wonder how efficiently a gba emulator or something could run on the display.

  • Snapdragon 626 should be here instead of 625
