Amazon Fire 7 - User Reviews

  • This device is really only ever good if you got it for a maximum price of $30 and can't afford anything budget friendly with HD resolution screen. If you really want to take full advantage of this device, and make it worth getting, download the Tubi TV app if you wanna watch free movies and tv shows (selections will be based on your location).

  • Can read eBook in pdf format?

  • Look into rooting it. It makes a huge difference.

  • I hate this tablet

  • you need a device with SIM slot (phone number) to use whatsapp and this tablet doesn't have any, you can still install Telegram though.

  • Can we download whatsApp app on fire 7

  • The real answer is no. Im using my fire 7 to write this. It has micro usb and a micro SD card holder only. Hope this helps

  • Does it have an HDMI or micro-HDMI port?

  • Yes.

  • has wifi....

  • Can you conect to internet through wifi with this tablet ?

  • Go to www.apkpure.com. Download and install apkpure apk. Download your game from apkpure app.

  • i cant download shadow fight 2 game... can you send link to me?

  • No

  • Wat about battery mah

  • No

  • Yes and no. The Fire OS was meant to be for US only. But you can flash a custom Android ROM like Resurrection Remix (Link for it here: video: ) Yes it does have a sim card slot if you have at&t or if you can get it unlocked by at&t

  • No

  • Storage is memory. Storage is a secondary memory and RAM, primary memory.

  • Does it work in Africa? I'm currently working there. Does it have a SIM port

  • no

  • no, it does not

  • Does this support 5GHz wifi?

  • In some places we say memory to the storage or to any USB flash. and to the Ram we say Ram and that's it because is the RAM. (knowledge is power :D). So its OK.

  • Can you show me how? because I tried watching the rootjunky videos but it doesn't work for me, I don't know, maybe is my PC.

  • No. It does not support SlimPort capability for HDMI output. Only the Amazon Fire HD versions support this.

  • Does anyone know if this device can hook up to tv to watch shows on? Doesn't say if it has micro hdmi port.

  • No, storage is not memory. Don't post something that you don't know, doesn't help anyone.

  • NO storage is NOT memory plonker.i have 32GFB of corsair 4000mhz Memeory on my PC but my STORAGE is 4 2 TVB seagate barracuda and 1 Samsung 500GB 850 pro SSD.

  • storage IS memory.

  • Note: Your Kindle Fire lock screen password or PIN is different from your Amazon account password. On the lock screen, swipe from the right side edge of the screen. Enter an incorrect password or PIN (at least characters in length) five times. ... Tap Reset to reset your device to factory defaults.

  • Just ordered for £25. My son has kindle fire 1st gen and is currently still using over more expensive tablets due to fire os as much less cluttered than android stock. Also kids unlimited for £1.99 a month is a steal. Some game on iOS are £4 and free with this. Before anybody asked I am a techy I have all up to date stuff. iPhones iMacs ps4s surface pros etc I have all of these. For the price and for a 5 year old Amazon fire tablets are the best and the kids will always come back to them

  • Memory and storage are 2 diffrant things. Memory = Ram (you put memory as 8GB witch is not memory it has 1 gb memory) and Storage: The amount of data the device can hold (you should of put Storage not memory.) Not trying to be mean, but you confused me and probably others.

  • i found amazon fire tab, and i cant find the owner cause it has a pin password. how can i open it. can someone help me?

  • root it, use a rom and its a beast.

  • A considerable one is that it can't support You tube app

  • i like this device

  • Another error: Only a max of 128 GB microSD card accepted. Not 256 GB. And seriously, I was looking for a page like this one (to compare with this one) below so I could truly see all the nitty gritty detailed specs of the Fire. But all I'm finding anywhere is this little crappy list. *sigh* ** This is the LINK to the spec list for the phone I'm looking at buying to replace the Kindle Fire:

  • There is a mistake in the specs, there isn't a vibration option availible for notifications, let alone a vibration motor.

  • I like how thw site displayed the information and got right to the important stuff. very valuable information.

  • well what the fuck else do you expect from a 50$ tablet lmao you get what you paid for.

  • bought this tablet, for this price its really great i really like it but in my country i cant have access to amazon books

  • Sorry booboo.. I should have left my address for a reply [email protected] Thanks

  • This tablet used to be easy to root but Bezobub got sneaky and kept running 'updates' that made it impossible. Unrooted it is a mess. No browser, or utilities or access to them. Just Amazonalong.

  • This tablet does not suck and it is a great buy! For adults who do web browsing, reading, listen to music, check e-mails, etc., you know stuff adults do, this is a bargain! For adolescent gamers, no. For young kids whose parents supervise what they watch, this is perfect!

  • LOL, just install CM on it and it becomes a decent tablet.

  • The battery capacity for this devise is 2980mAh/11.03Wh

  • This is an absolutely horrible tablet and not worth $10 let alone $50. Tiny ram, slow, unstable and the Fire OS is awful. Stay away from this piece of crap.

  • This is a very inexpensive tablet that has good versatility with a custom ROM. I recommend SlimLP.

  • Yes, you'r right, I saw it

  • With the default Fire version of Android, this isn't a bad little tablet either four, or five out of ten (for the price), but once you strip away the Amazon junk-ware, root, install a decent launcher (I recommend Nova), and side-load gapps, it gets boosted to a clear eight or nine out of ten (again for the price). OK, we all know it isn't going to out perform the latest and greatest Android tablets, but it can still do a lot better than some that cost two or three times the price!

  • You can install and run it, but you will need to use something like Link2SD to expand your storage (which I believe in turn requires root).

  • That may be IP based location tracking not GPS,

  • Not exactly, you do not need GPS hardware to track location, it can also be done just using your wifi. -Source I am an Android developer

  • Bought two of these and have had them for a couple of days now. I don't read that they have GPS, but some apps are able to track your location as a part of their proprietary agreements. That would seem to indicate there is GPS of some sort used in the Fire7. No "Gorilla Glass" but it is a tough material never the less, as proven by one frustrated user who, in a fit of stupidity, gave the center of the Fire a closed fist knuckle punch. The result? No harm no foul. The Fire comes with a LOT of bundled 'stuff'. Most of that stuff is geared to the sale of Amazon goods and services. I knew that going in so it's no biggie for me. I realize that's how Amazone sells these for $50 new, rather than a whole lot more. There is nothing that forces me to use any of those offerings. I put them in a file and move that file to the end of the icon line. No big deal. Bottom line: I have to say I'm very happy with my Fires. They do what I want them to do and do it with very nice conformation.

  • can this tablet run Mortal Kombat X game? i install the game manually but not able to run on it.is it need any side apps?

  • Did the same. Side loaded the google play store, loaded Hangouts and now have a WiFi only "phone" for when my cell is charging after I get home from work.

  • We got one of these for my son for Christmas, and this thing is pretty amazing. I easily added the Google Play Store to it (rootjunkysdl.com) and was able to add all my favorite google apps. I was able to connect a thumbdrive, mouse and wireless keyboard through OTG USB. The benefit of the SD card slot is great as well. Running google hangouts with it and making a phone call worked flawlessly with my bluetooth headphones. All this for $49?!?! AMAZING!

  • This is not entirely true. It's still an Android which uses .apk files. Even Amazon delivers the products via apk (which is really just a zip file renamed). You can't, by factory load, use Google Play, but you can enable developer mode which will allow you to "side load" .apk's. Alternatively you can still load apk's from unknown sources just like on normal launchers. Amazon's fire is just a Launcher with their own customized browser and other applications which gives you a different experience. Technically you could make your normal Android devices work the same, as well as even work like an Apple device (though not necessarily run their apps) with the right launcher and customization's.

  • Battery last long est. 8hrs. So many amazon apk's only 58 MBytes remain of 1Gbyte Ram. I can stop cached apk's and regain 200 Mbytes of ram memory but amazon unnessary apks keep launching bringing total ram back down to 58MB. kindle 7 (5th gen) tablet is very fast till memory gets used up with crap apks.

  • It does have Bluetooth

  • I had this tablet for about a month now, I love it, It doesnt have bluetooth and I didnt use it. the only bad thing is the launcher, I dont like the launcher, I love more the Google Now, and I need to root it soon to add my google stuff to it.

  • Slow but cheap and i have google play store on this,it's OK as a spare wouldn't use as my main tablet

  • No GPS, no brightness, no proximity or any other sensors. Just an accelerometer.

  • what do you expect.. it a very low quality and cheap production.. even Chinese companies have better quality low cost products

  • You need to install from amazon app store. Though this runs android, it is a customized android version.

  • Still coming out with ugly wide bezels. No thanks at any price.

  • really cheap but is It worthy not to have android

  • Its an amazon tablet they dont use apk

  • How can I install APKs? I installed MCPE but it didn't open. :(

  • I believe it does have a GPS, but it doesn't have a compass. Does anyone know if it has a magnetic sensor so it will turn on and off when a compatible cover is opened and closed?

  • No gps...

  • I'm interested in getting this but I have one main question. Does it have gorilla glass? If not what does it use? I can't find this information anywhere on the Web.
