Apple iPad Pro 10.5 (2017) - User Reviews

  • Wi-Fi version for this apple iPad pro 10.5 2017 can run instagram ? Any lag or hang after updated to latest iPad OS ?

  • You can just get a free app called airmore I believe and super easy to transfer files back n forth

  • Which app are u using for that?

  • I totally like my 10.5 especially now that I got iPadOS 13.1 today. It is very interesting to say the least now that I have that new update. I enjoy my iPad Pro 10.5.

  • I edit my 4k videos on this baby smoother than my i7 16gb ram laptop

  • Yes ipados works on it

  • I recently got a refurbished Pro 10.5 from Apple and am using iPadOS beta 2. It's working terrifically, feels extremely fluid. I'm sure it'll only get better with the public release.

  • Is this Ipad Pro still reliable for middle 2019? especially now there is IpadOs

  • I looked at both and bought a pro 10.5 just look at the specs and u can see why also it was $50 cheaper than the new Air

  • The best iPad to date IMO

  • I got Amoled phones for my daily driver but i prefer IPS LCD for my tablet due to longer display on time but working and gaming. Having screen burn in on tablet is annoying i think. I see considerable number of iPad user still cling on their iPad 2 and iPad 3. I dont think many Samsung devices especially the Amoled ones will stand on 1 or 2 years without burning the amoled pixels and got color shifting

  • Get the pro. It’s the most supported and powerful iPad. Pro for sure

  • Perfect man thanks for the advice!

  • I would recommend buying the IPad Pro 10.5 as it has -120Hz refresh rate display which makes everything you do 2x smoother (you will not be able to go back once you use it) -better if you will use Apple Pencil as it feels smooth like writing on paper due to 120Hz -4 speakers for stereo sound instead of 2 making it sound like a Bluetooth speaker -4gb ram instead of 3gb -higher screen brightness of 600 cd/m2 -it has a superb 12mp camera with quad led with 4K recording instead of 8mp without 4K -Most cost effective when considering features and price

  • Which is better, Ipad pro 10.5 '17 or new Ipad Air? They're both coming in around the same price at the moment so I'm wondering does the pro still hold up?

  • IMO, the best iPad to date.

  • A decent IPS LCD can be almost as good as a decent AMOLED screen. Also, when looking at the performance, app support and long-term software support (official updates) the iPad Pro is better.

  • Yes you can connect it to a non-macbook computer, if you only want to copy pictures from your iPad, you can do it with out itunes, but if you want to put photos, music videos in the device from your computer, you have to go thru itunes for that, as for the expansion of of the memory you cannot put any external memory in the ipad but you can connect an external hard drive using a lightning to usb c, usb a, card reader then using the files app in the ipad can access the files in the external memory. I hope I was able to answer your questions. Also all the dongles can be bought on the apple store or go online and order it. I highly recommend buy the ones from apple or belkin, as other 3rd party dongles and accessories tend to break easily.

  • AMOLED is best but Sammy Tab S3/S4 has low-frequency PWM dimming = BAD. Miss my dead Tab S 10.5.

  • IPS panel is a joke before Super AMOLED. Tab S3 wins here.

  • Hello. I have been having a hard time choosing between Samsung galaxy tab s4 and ipad Pro 10.5. My primary tablet use will be for Web surfing, YouTube, watching movies, notes and occasional games like pubg. I've never used any I-products before and I seriously want to try this one. However, I am bothered by some of the problems like... Will I be able to connect ipad Pro 10.5 to a laptop that is not macbook? Is there anyway to increase the storage capacity of the ipad like external devices? Does it support a traditional pen drive? I'll be very grateful if someone who is familiar with both ipar and Samsung tablets would answer this questions.

  • The iPad doesn‘t have mouse support

  • Hi, I would suggest an app called Documents on iOS. It supports pretty much all file formats and you can transfer files between you iPad/iPhone and PC through the same WiFi network wirelessly. Cheers!

  • You are right about the file transfer being difficult in iOS than Android. Tab S4 will be more flexible i.e. copying files, etc. But where the iPad Pro comes on top is the performance. It absolutely demolishes any Android tablet. I am saying this since I own both a Tab S3 and an iPad Pro 10.5. The 120Hz display on the iPad is amazing. But the AMOLED screen on the Tab S3 is also great. Also remember that the Tab S4 uses a Snapdragon 835 which is old but still capable.

  • Hi. I saw some review on youtube about this tab, its great, drawing on this tab is smooth as butter. Im work as designer, I want to get this tab, but I heard that moving files from PC to IOS devices is such a hassle not as easy as android devices (copy-paste-done). Which one is best between this and galaxy tab s4? My only concern about ipad is the file transfer (saw on youtube needs to connect to itunes xxxx looks troblesome to me) since I never use ios device before.

  • You should have waited for the new one to come and let this one have a price decrease.

  • Apple is most likely releasing a new iPad next month. Just fyi to those wondering. I still went ahead and got this one because the new one is probably going to also increase the cost.

  • is there any change that apple release a new pencil, in any near future. Me being in Fashion indutry, desperately in need of a ipad and pencil. planning to buy one. Was wondering if new things are coming up in market. Any leads and advice on this pls. Should i biuy Ipad with pencil or i should wait? any forecasters here.

  • I belive its 7 devices at the same time

  • I got mine on January this year and it got iOS 11.2 out of the box

  • No sure about the mouse , but I have connected keyboard, Apple Pencil and Bluetooth speakers at the same time. Was able to use it...though I didn’t try for extended period of time. Lemme know if you want it to be tried out.

  • Guys, how many bluetooth devices can be connected simultaneously ? Eg 1. S-Pen 2. Headphone 3. External keyboard (logitech) 4. External mouse (logitech)

  • Hello guys I am a little lost and wondering if I should get the ipad pro(2017) 10.5 inch or the ipad 2018. Owning actually an ipad mini I find it a little difficult to picture the ipad pro in real life and worrying if I get it, It would turn out to be too big. My usage consist mainly of watching seeries ,videos some reading music and a very little amount of games. Which is the best option to me? And which is the best deal considering the amount of money and the support that each device will get plus the lasting performance(over the years)? Ps: is the pentil that essential to either of these two for a good usage?

  • Hello guys I wanted to ask you which one should I get between the ipad pro(2017) and the ipad 2018. I actually use an ipad mini so i am a little lost. if i go with the pro i tell myself it might be too big. My usage of it would consist mainly of watching shows videos a little gaming and some reading plus music. Please give me advice and is the pen so necessary for the use of those devices?

  • Hi friend, sorry for the delayed response. I mainly use it for sketching and blogging. I also use it quite often for reading pdf and books. Audio on this thing is superb. All in all an excellent device. That is not to say that iPad 2018 is not a good device. In fact it’s a great device. But I just wanted the pro motion display. The performance on this thing is brilliant.

  • May I know for what do you use your ipad pro for? Thanks

  • hello everyone! Should i get this one or wait for the new model? i am not really into the bezeless non touch id design that new model will have so i think this model is still very good??

  • I don't why Apple devices are this much expensive. I think it's just a suicide, pushing it's customers towards other manufacturers. Apple --->Quality products for riches.🤣😂

  • You can only make and receive phone calls on your iPad if you have the “Calls On Other Devices” enabled on your iPhone. Or, you can download an app, such as “Talkatone”, from the App Store on your iPad.

  • No you can't make phone call's directly on the iPad, only through continuity from your iPhone 6s

  • Hi guys... can we utilize iPad Pro to make calls from cellular carrier same as iPhone 6s

  • Hi guys... can we utilize iPad Pro to make calls from cellular carrier same as iPhone 6s

  • After a lot of consideration, I just got the iPad Pro 10.5. I was really torn between getting the iPad Pro 10.5 or the new iPad 2018 edition. Finally settled for this one and I got to say, promotion display is just superb. After getting used to this for just some time, every other device seems to stutter. Glad that I went for the pro.

  • Well, most newer Chromebooks now has the ability to install Android apps so that makes formidable and better than iPads right? And would you say the iPads's OS is its achilles heel as it is still far from the opneness, customization and flexibility of Android? Especially the File Manager issue.

  • In terms of app support and capability an iPad is better than Chromebooks. You get good office clients, full fledged PDF editors (WonderShare PDFElements), vector graphics editor, raster graphics editor, code and text editor, Vim, Git and Bitbucket clients, LaTeX editor, all in one RDP/VNC/Fluid app, good DAW apps (Auria Pro) and many more on iPad, on other hand for Chromebook most apps work online or you need to retort to using Android apps, not to forget neither Chromebook nor Android have a full fledged PDF editor or a good Vector graphics editor or a good DAW. The only thing you get better on a Chromebook is the browser for rest of things is pretty much useless. As for file manager, well ChromeBook doesn't have a decent file manager either, Android tablets have better file manager but lack the other aforementioned capabilities of the iPad. But as of being an alternative to a laptop, well neither of them are a good alternative to laptops. iPad is close due to its apps and capabilities but neither of them are capable of doing things that you can do on a laptop. If you want an alternative to laptop then better go for a Surface Tablet.

  • Can an iPad (Air or Pro) replace a Chromebook or a traditional laptop? My only concerns for these iPads is for its price the storage capacity is not enough, software still feels "incomplete" and restricted (although there maybe some workarounds?) and the still immature Files app which doesn't compare to an Android or Windows equivalent. But can it really be as good in many ways?

  • You should be able to edit them. I have office 365 subscription and i edit ms office files more on my ipad than my laptop.

  • It ships with IOS 10 in the box.

  • Does the tablet ship with iOS 10 or does it have iOS 11 out of the box?

  • Best of the best

  • I plan to use it for at least 5 years, 120hz display and that raw power makes it a beast.

  • I want to create or edit my excel files on regular basis but in iPad I can't make it...is there any solution for that?

  • This one will live at least 2 years (of hard using). Best tablet nowadays !

  • I can say that this is the best tablet I ever had. It's so fast and responsive, so much better than my previous Samsung Windows Tablet that died after 7 months of use

  • Battery life? How much screen on time on a single charge?

  • Best tablet available period.

  • Zerodha app KITE and live stock market trading software name is π pi can install on Ipad pro 10.5 ? Are the all banking and stock market app are available on Ipad pro app store for installation ? Please experience people of above app guide me .....

  • Anyone are using Ipad pro 10.5 for live stock market trading ? I am Zerodha kite platform user , anyone are using Kite app for stock market trading on Ipad pro 10.5 ? Is it compatible for Ipad ? Or other platform and software of Zerodha is π(pi) is for live stock market trading , is it possible to install on Ipad pro ? Please guide me .... So I can plan to purchase it .

  • Yes Same problem with my ipad. As soon as i upgraded to ios 11 i started noticing a heavy battery drain. At least thrice of earlier rate.

  • Its very handy and is very useful. I would like to advice u all to purchase this iPad Pro.......its FANTASTIC and EXCELLENT.

  • Yes!

  • I love this device very power full great display and almost every thing but 2 things I don't like the front cam should be more bright like f1.9 to f 1.6. Second thing is screen expect ratio which is 4.3 and lot of apps are not compatible with this 4.3 ratio 16.9 or the newest 19.8 will be welcome addition.

  • Is anyone experiencing fast battery drain on their ipad with ios 11.2? if yes pls spread the message

  • As an IT services provider, you don't know what you are missing. I can do 90% of my job on my iPad. When I need heavy lifting, my MacBook does the last 10%.

  • I wouldn't do it, even though the iPad is probably a bit more powerful, but macOS is just the more professional OS. You could also do it and hope that iOS becomes better in the time the iPad supports the latest version, but I wouldn't put my hopes too high.

  • Appreciate it

  • Does Any one knows if the 4G version support whatsupp and imo voice calls ?

  • No! Don't! Keep your MacBook Pro 2012!

  • Updated to11.1 and no problem

  • I need advice Should I trade in my pristine macbook pro (2012) 15' For Ipad pro 10.5

  • Very good ipad .flexible. Speedy. Loud voice speaker. An Accurate camera.intense display.powerful battery and long life .and useful for studying with apple pencil for its high sensitivity touch

  • I have an iPhone 7 with the less powerful, but similarly built A10 Fusion. There is a delay when closing apps, which is probably just a bug. There are also many other bugs, for example location services draining more battery, so I get an hour less battery time. But all that is no bad tradeoff for the new design of the app icons (much prettier), better animations (not faster, but better, for example you can open an app while the other app is closing), and so on. Yesterday, they had an iPhone 7 with iOS 10.0.1 in a store, and it also suffered from bugs like strange closing animations. But again, that 3 millisecond delay before closing is not as bad and you can safely update if you are ok to charge your phone maybe a few times more. I don't mind it, and I love the new features like the control center, and on an iPad, there is even more. It doesn't slow it down, those animation glitches are no slow down at all it's just glitches and that's it. Only if you have an older device than 6s (so something with A7/A8/A8X), I would hesitate because I tried the beta on my iPad mini 3 and it was horrible compared to iOS 10, but in the newer devices, it doesn't make a difference.

  • i upgraded and is running fine.

  • Don't upgrade your iOS since it will make your iPad slower every time you upgrade....my old iPad Air 1 became very slow since iOS 10, I wish I could go back to iOS 7 on my iPad Air.

  • I just bought this iPad last Friday and I was wondering the same... I'm afraid the performance will be affected iOS 11.

  • Did anyone updated to the newest update ? How is it? Any problems ? I want to update but afraid of the performance and battery problems being written about the update

  • Friends how is the Power point and word app on this tablet? Im a beginner and amateur user of Microsoft office apps. So i want this tablet for presentations in my university classes in low level of using... . And reading pdfs in bed. Does ipad pro 10.5 help me alone ? I don’t want to return my laptop pc for working on powerpoint.

  • This my second iPad and my first one (iPad Air) was a so good and useful (but short memory 32 gbts) than I choose to got the new (IPad Pro with 256 gbts)as soon being released in June and I not have any regrets for my selection...I love it.! the speed and performance is huge and extremely useful at my work place. I highly recommend it...is symply the best tablet ever made.. :-)

  • I use iPhones & iPads since day one. It's said to be best Ipad ever seen coz size is smaller than laptop or size as laptop then bigger than iPad Air or mini. Best to handheld & no lagging.

  • I don't use my computer to anything else than for music producing anymore, everything else i do with this iPad Pro, now i can even do graphics design with this tablet, which is just crazy!

  • "Artist and drawers might say otherwise because of the Pencil tool.. But having the pencil means little.. when it lacks powerful desktop class applications." Wrong it means lot, we have great apps like procreate which is great app for drawing anything what you want. This is made with procreate, which is just insane Then we have affinity Photoshop style desktop class app which really unleash the iPad Pro power and you can do a lot with that.

  • Got the 256 gb 10.5 iPad Pro 2 weeks ago and it was a very good decision. This iPad has the original elements of what you call an iPad, 4 gigs of ram make this device run so smoothly, also has the storage and more powerful than conventional laptops. I finished GTA San Andreas on this iPad with a near frame rate of 60 fps, honestly developers should bridge more console level games for these powerful devices. Perfect for making music, djaying, gaming, documents and office work, collection for family stuff, personal handheld powerful computer, as of today is the most powerful tablet and handheld apple product money can buy.

  • Yes. This IS a crippled PC for most people. Artist and drawers might say otherwise because of the Pencil tool.. But having the pencil means little.. when it lacks powerful desktop class applications. However tablet such as iPad is never designed to replace laptops or PCs. Its just a add-on.. simple email reply.. simple web browsing.. nothing serious. Its fallback for many others, just a simple media consumption tool. However, if thats the case.. its competing with its lesser brethren.. the iPad and iPad mini, both smaller siblings work just as well. Sad news is, Apple butchered the iPad / iPad mini's specs, stop upgrading them, charge a premium for this iPad Pro. Like saying: hey.. hey.. buy me BUY MEE, I'm better! But most people see thru this tactics. Bottom line is. If you are a normal person looking for media consumption, simple web browsing, simple email sending, then STAY AWAY from this, its not for you period, unless you have TONS of money to burn. This is just a very niched set of Pro people, NOT for the spreadsheet user, not for the document user, not for the developers, not for the office workers (Those can just use surface pros). This is Just for artist and graphics designer ONLY.

  • Why no mouse and no real software ? ( just "mobile apps") This is 6th or 7th ipad generation and still no mouse support. Price 800e is ridiculous for 10.5 Ipad. :P It is just a cripled PC. I can get a new Imac computer for 900e.

  • This thing is amazing, used iPad Air until this year because it worked so well still, finally saw something worth of upgrade and bought this iPad Pro, sure it was high price product, but damm it's awesome!. With this iPad Pro i now do all my graphics design and photo editing with this, affinity iPad, Procreate + Apple pencil makes it so easy and enjoyable to do all kind of creative stuff. Using affinity really shows how powerful this device is when you do realtime effects perfectly smoothly. This thing raised par for the tablets to the whole new level and with iOS11 going to be even better. If you use your tablet a lot daily and enjoy using it, definately big recommendation, sure it's expensive, but it's so enjoyable to use. Also the camera is ridiculously good, had to just try it because this has better cam than my phone, actually taking photos with iPad was great experience, with this quality cam and big screen you saw right away how the photo looks, it was very fun to make "photo shoot" with iPad. Here's the photo i took with iPad and edited with affinity (desktop class graphics and photo editing app for iPad)

  • I upgraded from an iPad Pro 9.7 and the difference is major, the screen is the smoothest I've seen, performance wise this iPad is shockingly powerful, editing 4k video and RAW images as if they where standard def and Jpegs, then you add IOS 11 and its only a Beta brings this Ipad into yet an undefined class of hybrid tablet which quite simply "kicks butt". Imagine the best of ISO and Mac OS in one tiny yet POWERFUL package. yes if you just browse the web then buy the Basic iPad but if you want a whole lot more get The iPad Pro 10.5.... On a side note my close fired is using a comparable android tablet but all his apps seem to be designed for an android phone while iPad had its own dedicated apps and tens of thousands of them. It left my friend a little bit red faced when he seen what a tablet is actually capable of...

  • Do you own the iPad 10.5? If not don't tell others not to buy it. I came from the Air 2 to the Pro 10.5 and let me tell you it is a screaming good tablet. The 120hz rate is only the icing on the cake for this tablet. It breezes through any task and I mean any. I've had apps held in memory for days and the tablet will still pick up where you left off. It's a powerhouse with no corners cut, even the speakers will blow you away. So anyone thinking about this tablet and saying it's steep in price, it certainly is, but you'll have this for the next 3-4 years and it'll be worth every penny. No regrets buying this at all.

  • I agree. My iPad Air 2 is still fine as I wouldn’t throw money in this 10.5 just yet. I’ll give it another 2.5 years and then upgrade. By iOS 13, then I’ll upgrade.

  • Save your money. IMO. Buy only when they stop upgrading iOS for your iPad. By then, a successor to your iPad Air 2 will appear. Currently no use dumping 1k into this device. Market already points to more people buying the normal iPads to the iPad Pros. Because it does not justify the cost. Its smaller siblings (iPad / iPad minis) can use 99% of the apps on the app store without lag. So what if it has processor that can rival laptops? Play diablo 3 / Skyrim? Sadly no. Its 120Mhz refresh rate sure is nice eye candy i assure you. But it mostly depend on your media source as well as content reading. Its the ONLY saving grace for this iPad Pro.. but is it enough? I urge you to go touch the iPad Pro 10.5 demo.. try the scrolling and see the text, see if THAT Alone is enough to justify paying 1k for it. Else the rest of the features are the same.. you get it on normal iPads anyways.

  • NOOO

  • I'm using iPad Air 2 now, been using for 2 years plus... thinking whether to upgrade to iPad Pro 10.5? Any advise? Thanks

  • does it supports usb otg for using external storage devices....???

  • Do not worry, the iPad is here to stay, and as you and MKBHD (youtube) analized that the product has matured. Today I saw Lenovo Folio video, I think phablets will merge with tablets into foldable tablets i.e. A tablet that folds into a phone. And when this tech becomes stable in terms of quality and cost, Apple will do something fabulous that will combine iPad with iPhone plus.

  • CPU: Hexa-Core 2.38 GHz (3x Hurricane + 3x Zephyr) GPU: PowerVR 12-Core Graphics (but not sure what chipset are using)

  • 8134mAh. I just looked it up on ifixit teardown. Step 11 also shows that it supports USB PD, the fast charging used by phones like the Google Pixel.

  • face time has voice calls file manager coming with iOS 11 trackpad can be had with an accessory SMS is dying iOS supports external USB drives over lightning

  • Joe. iPad sales are declining. The market has spoken. Sure most people blame iPad is a family product.. no need updates, thus lesser need for an upgrade. But iPad Pro offers nothing new on the plate.. except the 8 years in calling File manager app coming in the fall. Nothing new for most of the professional people.. (Pro motion.. faster pen response.. bigger screen with smaller footprint.. none of which helps the majority of pro users) At the same time, iPad and iPad mini internals are held back in favour of the iPad Pros.. that further reduces sales. I love iPads, i HATE to see it go. Thats why i rant about it in all channels to get awareness.. So that those silent people will vote with their money. iPad Pro need MOUSE support, more connectivity, so that developers can come up with more Pro apps. Now iPad Pro is just a rich man's media consumption device, that will hamper sales. Pros simply go MacBooks, or iPads. This niche in the middle of the laptop and smartphone, is getting squeeze from both sides. You have iPad Pro.. you still need Mac. SO why sink 1.5k into this?

  • That WE NEED MOUSE guy needs to chill out. He's taking the iPad discussion really seriously, he is active here and on the iPad 9.7 opinions. Simply, if you like a product buy it, if not then don't. Supply and demand (plus marketing efforts) are the market stimulus.

  • You are right..

  • You will get a file browser after the release of iOS 11

  • Things iPad Pro should have: 1. Voice call 2. SMS 3. Mouse 4. File manager 5. Improved connectivity, external display external drives. And adverise as a laptop all in one replacement. Else i do not believe its worth noticing by pro users who own a utrabook and phone. Just a very expensive iPad for media consumption.

  • Good chuckle. You obviously bought the iPad Pro for non Pro usage as well! Because the only use-case you let us know is browsing the internet and commenting on GSMARENA. Very "Pro" indeed.

  • Reading the comments on my iPad Pro 10.5 and chuckling. You guys know nothing, yet on paper you all sound so smart, discussing whether the « pros » would like the tablet or not, yet none of you are pros in anything, by the looks of it.

  • The iPad Pro 10.5 also comes with Quad (4) speakers.

  • With the iPad Pro 10.5 you get 10 hours of medium usage more than any other tablet I know of including the Tab S3 and the Surface Pro at the same time it's 2 times as powerful as the Tab S3 and has a 120Hz refresh rate which goes up and down (changes) depending on the content being viewed this happens in order to save battery for example you don't need 120FPS if you're looking at an image. According to my knowledge the A10x chip in this iPad Pro is as powerful as the new Kaby Lake core i5 CPU's fron Intel however it has better grqphics on the die than the Intel HD Graphics 620 on the new core i5 die. Conclussion: I would highly recommend the 256GB model over any other tablet on the market right now. Pros 1. Fastest mobile display 2 . Good resell value after 2 years of usage 3. The only tablet suited for high graphic mobile gaming in 2017 4. Best RAM management on a tablet to date 5. iPhone 7 camera (one of the best cameras on the market( 6. 4K video recording 7. Best drawing experience avialable on a mobile device 8. Double the RAM of the previews generation 9. Very powerful creativity and editing applications (Affinity Photo, Pro-Create, Notability, Luma Fusion) 10. Can be updated to IOS 11 11. Very bright display (600 nits) 12. 2nd generation Touch ID (faster fingerprjnt scanning) 13. Headphone Jack (Yes it's still there) Cons 1. Not durable (bends easily) 2. Expensive accessories 3. Most good apps are not free 4. No USB Type-C (Still uses a Lightning to USB Type-A charger) 5. No Quickcharge or other fast charging technology (lasts long but charges slowly) 6. No Micro SD card expansion (however you can buy a seperate storage device that you plug into the iPad if you want to store a lot of movies and photos and keep the built in storage just for apps) 7. Not IP68/67 certified (but again it's a tablet) 8. Software not as capable as Windows software (You can't make a video game or write a program on this iPad) Would I buy it ? Yes I would. Should you buy it ? That's up to you however if you're a software engineer, a game designer or a 3D artist you're better off building a PC or buying a decent GTX 1050Ti laptop for $1000 however if you just want a powerful mobile gaming device with a large display that can edit photos and videos and has one of the best cameras then this might just be for you.

  • Anyone know the battery capacity of the iPad Pro 10.5. I know its 30.4Wh but I would like to know in milliAmperes per hour (mAh). Apple battery charging voltage has vary in the past and is not the typical 3.7V all the time. thanks

  • I bought one and it is fantastic. Sooo fast and so smooth! My iPhone 6s feels slow compared to this and my previous iPad mini 3 feels like a dinosaur! Screen size is much better now and the sound is excellent.

  • It does support quick charging. Unfortunately, you have to buy 29W charger + USB-C to Lightning Cable, all together £74.

  • This blows the Galaxy Tab S3 out of the water.

  • I thought that one too and checked it at store before buying this 10.5". I thought it might be overkill and not that portable, it's also lot heavier. This 10.5" is great compromise. Also with this one my thumbs can reach to the middle of the screen, so it's easy and fast to write in landscape. With 12.9" it's impossible.

  • "this bigger screen was my main point to upgrade and it is great!" Irony. Why not get 12.9 if you so desire the screen size. You will be blown to the moon.

  • "If you want to replace your aging iPad Air and you are just a causal user, i suggest you get iPad mini 4/ iPad 5 gen." No point to go there If better is available like i already said, don't see it worth of upgrade it's more or less the sama which i already had. "Double check again, and then check again. Just see it in the Apple store. Think if its worth three times a iPad 5 cost!" Three times? This was under two times and i got 256gb, Also iv been using this now for two hours and i'm blown away, definately was worth of the price, and this bigger screen was my main point to upgrade and it is great! Also i can't believe how fast and smooth this beast is!

  • Look here, i am tired of fanboys telling us who want mouse to go buy a laptop.. or go Mac. The main reason we are attracted to iPad Pro, is a simple wish. 1. Good battery life. 2. Not running a heat processor. 3. LTE support. 4. More portable then the avg laptops. 5. Apps when we are not into serious productivity. Thats why you continue to see rants of such kinds. MOUSE MOUSE MOUSE year in year out, flooding the Apple discussion pages. Cries of the avg word / numbers users. If you want to replace your aging iPad Air and you are just a causal user, i suggest you get iPad mini 4/ iPad 5 gen. Double check again, and then check again. Just see it in the Apple store. Think if its worth three times a iPad 5 cost! The A10x, 120mhz Pro vision, iPhone 7 camera (seriously? just use iPhone7 and photo stream will do) do it no justice. Mostly a big waste of money.

  • See here. Its not complicated, its just a need for iPad to gain its Pro status. Especially this is marketed to Professionals, or target to replace laptops. To enhance your word processing capabilities, you buy smart keyboard. To make sure you can type properly with the smart keyboard, you set the iPad on a table. To prevent gorilla hands, you need a pointer device, so you can rest your arms on the table. Then of course on the go, you gain touch, but lose some aspects of productivity. Like using the software keyboard and etc. In fact, gaining mouse is the bare minimum for production for this device on a table. It needs easy way to move files, (File App iOS11 is nothing NEAR its MacOS counterpart.. no AFP, no SMB) so for professional to take this seriously.. it is still a Big nono.

  • "Look at reviews sites if you are not convinced." The reviews are great, everytime i read reviews the more i want this, and well actually today is the day when my pro shipping to me. "why sink 2K of your money, when you can get an iPad mini / iPad 5gen for much less and perform the same task? " All these years iv been using my first iPad Air and tried to find a reason to upgrade, upgrading to 5 gen doesn't offer enough. This 10.5" was finally good time to upgrade this old Air, im using iPad a lot so i wanted it to be best iPad available when im using my money. Also reading your comment, laptop is clearly better for you, carrying mouse for tablets just sounds stupid in my opinion. If you want it to be laptop then buy laptop and not tablet.. "With the 10.5 inch, it make it harder (although not impossible) to hold it in the hand and work" The weight is exact same than my old 9.7" Air, if you don't have older pro version it weights more or less same than your old one. So it's not any harder.

  • I agree with you, maybe we used to pointing the word by using mouse, but just “got used to it”, I’ve tried to copy an 1000+ words and try to make some change on the middle part by using finger and arrow keys to position it right, not much painful to do so, and I can’t imagine if I have to carry a mouse around with my iPad just for this purpose, it seems more complicated.

  • Take your pick, type a 10000 word essay on iPad. 1. With the onscreen keyboard. (Or detach the smart keyboard.. play with your 2 fingers.. then attach back when editing is done) 2. With arrow keys (KEEP pressing those Arrows!!) 3. Hardcore gorilla hands. with smart keyboard. (Poor arms) 4. Mouse. Tell me which you refer. This tablet is NON Pro. Its never designed for Pros. Only for artist and drawing people.. AND EVEN THOSE PEOPLE have problem using the UI because its dump down to support TOUCH crap. With the 10.5 inch, it make it harder (although not impossible) to hold it in the hand and work, which means its more comfortable to set it on a desktop.. and mouse or trackpad would work nicely. It might look pretty for the avg touch consumers only. And then again, why sink 2K of your money, when you can get an iPad mini / iPad 5gen for much less and perform the same task? Or up to a Macbook where you can really get stuff done? Look at reviews sites if you are not convinced. Some of which say its not worthwhile to review it with iOS10 now. It needs iOS11 to shine!. Btw. iPad mini / iPad also get iOS11, same set of features. Now which "Pros" need this tablet? - None.

  • Try to use two fingers on the screen when r using screen keyboard and u will b amazed, or use the arrow key on the physical keyboard, boom shakalaka

  • So which model are u preferring n why

  • All you need to know is that the CPU and GPU is a beast and basically destroys any device currently out there running Android or iOS for now. The apple A10X fusion chip and it's GPU will even hold up well and probably even beat devices performance wise in the near future like the Note 8, Pixel 2 and should be on par basically with the A11 chip in the iPhone 8.

  • Get the 12.9 inch one over the 10.5 inch one, I've been using the new 12.9 inch one since the first day it came out and honestly it doesn't even feel that big to me anymore. You get used to the size of the 12.9 inch one very quickly, basically bigger is better lol, well up to a certain point Haha.

  • no information about CPU and GPU?

  • This destroys the tab S3 in all fields, I'm thinking of getting one soon.

  • Thank you for the info so all I have to do is update to OIS 11 and I will get native FLAC support This is the greatest news I have ever heard. Apple is never known to support FLAC files Thanks again for the reply

  • The most advanced tablet-laptop computer I have ever seen in my life. Thanks Apple Inc.

  • iOS 11 is coming with integrated FLAC support

  • the best tablet

  • Amazing. This new iPad sounds amazing. Apple says it has far more power than most pcs. Yes it is. 4000 single core and about 9500 multicore score in geekbench 4. Just getting one next week

  • Team can anyone tell me if the apple app store offers Flac player.. I like to get this because it has an internal 512GB hard drive .. it would be enough for my e-books and Flac files and other documets and games.. Thanks Team...

  • I'm not even gona lie I'm a hardcore android user but I love this ipad, I would never use iOS for a phone but on a tablet I will

  • "Type a wrong word.. ? Oh dear.. let the drag fest begin! Touch the screen." Why don't you use your two finger trackpad cursor? It's meant for things like that

  • Of course i use (I DO NOT TRY, I USE), else why would i rant here?? MS 365 every one of them, plus pages / numbers / keynote. iPP 9.7'' as well. The smart keyboard since iOS 9, they STOP the key repeat feature on Letters only.. so when you hold down 'a', it will only type 'a' once. Just because they have to fit accent key CRAP into the keyboard. While its is a simple fix on OSX, iOS we are stuck with this stupid implementation without an option to turn it off, less jailbreak. As for the pointer system, you need to master the art of keyboard shortcut, just because you have NO mouse support, else you spend 1/2 of your productive time TOUCHING the SCREEN. Type a wrong word.. ? Oh dear.. let the drag fest begin! Touch the screen. NEED bold oh crap.. touch the screen. Multi select words... touch the screen. If your edit is on the top left corner.. and bottom right corner.. your poor fingers have to travel 12.9 inches EVERYTIME! (On a mouse its just a few mm of movement!). With the Aid of the Pencil.. you still need to swing 12.9 inches overtime! Thats why you will not last long on a iPad Pro, YOU PRAY your work is as short as possible, and you PRAY VERY VERY HARD you do not make any mistakes or need custom fonts. or bold. A KEYBOARD WITHOUT A MOUSE is a 1970 computer. Thats why i when back to Macbook Pro. Knowing iPad Pro is noPro, just a gimmick and nothing different from the iPad / iPad mini line up. STUBBORN Apple. You lose sales on iPad THIS IS ONE OF THE REASON.. unreasonable hard to use, need to workaround piece of tablet. With the release of iOS11, File App appears after 8 years of ranting. You will find its amazing!! Shouting Praises about it.. then in 8 more years later, comes the mouse.. Facepalm.

  • "No mouse support. Pain to use when you want to edit documents or spreadsheets." Have you actually tried this? iv tried microsoft offfice apps with iPad and they actually were very well designed for touch workflow, haven't tried Apple own apps but would expect them to work very well too without mouse.

  • Geekbench benchmarks show that it has 4GB of RAM for both the 10.5 inch and 12.9 inch ipad pro's that were just announced.

  • No, you got cheated to buy iPad Pro and its useless kit. Keep your laptop you gonna need it for rest of your productive work. Like i said below comments. Unless you are an artist, or a CEO signing paper, iPad Pro is just a normal iPad for you. iOS keyboard letters does not repeat when you press and hold. ( only backspace dots and a few keys repeats) No mouse support. Pain to use when you want to edit documents or spreadsheets. iOS 11 incoming will provide File Manger app, but even the small iPad mini will receive this feature, so not a plus for the iPad Pro. You could have just buy iPad / iPad mini and use the rest on getting a better laptop. Or pull just abit more money for a MacBook.

  • I just would like to know how much RAM the 10.5 has. The previous model had only 2Gb.

  • I've just bought new Ipad pro with pencil and keyboard. I am considering selling my old laptop with Windows system and just use Ipad (is it a good idea?) could you tell me if its any any way to transfer my data from laptop to ipad and can I find any device (external hard drive) to keep my data on it and connect to ipod ? Many thanks for all advice

  • "The WWDC keynote shows the guy using the File "Productive feature" whereby he drag and drop multiple files with his fingers.. he have to do it flat on the table, he can't with smart keyboard attached." Sure he can, tablet don't need to be flat on the table

  • This tablet need mouse support. Without it, its not pro. It maybe pro for drawing people. But it is not pro for spreadsheet / keynote / note taking / remote desktop users. The WWDC keynote shows the guy using the File "Productive feature" whereby he drag and drop multiple files with his fingers.. he have to do it flat on the table, he can't with smart keyboard attached. Things an easy pointer mouse can do, touch cannot. So if you are a business professional that rely on the above usage, save your money do not buy this. But if you want to buy for enjoying media only, then buy iPad / iPad mini, better investment. This Pro is NoPro.

  • cause you don't hold a 10.5 in display as near to your face as a 7.9 or 4.7 in. And it still got higher resolution than most android tablets

  • Resolution: 1668 x 2224 pixels 265ppi Why not 326ppi like the iPad Mini??? Come on CrApple, you can do better!!!

  • No vibration on iPad

  • No vibration on iPad

  • Isn't quick charge a snapdragon thing?

  • Yes it does, using the USB C to lightning adapter.

  • Alert types: Vibration?

  • If you saw it, you saw it has quick charge, coming with the USB C to Lightning cable and fitting adapter, which is under USB 3 standard

  • iOS 10 and not iOS 11.

  • it's 2017 and still no Quick Charge? Nice joke

  • So expensive, I think using 4k screen,we will purchase 1!

  • Can't wait to see this. The memory size must be 4 GB and at least 2 GHz speed.
