Asus Transformer TF101 - User Reviews

  • Opera works pretty good on it. Also disable all the Asus bloatware and it will increase the battery life and performance. I use it mostly now to read e-books. Power button is wearing off. Docking station keyboard is kaput. But the battery in the docking station extends the life of the tablet. Plus the USB ports on the docking station makes it easier to transport files.

  • My TF101 still works flawlessly, but you can no longer install most apps as the OS can't be updated without rooting the device. I hate to say it, but spend $100 and you'll get a better tablet these days lol. Oh how times have changed. If you're stuck with not being able to install even chrome, my advice is, just buy a new tablet for cheap.

  • dolphin browser is the only browser safe and compatible

  • Please help I need to download a new browser, I get notices that my browser is outdated. I have tried to download several but I get notices that it is not compatible with my device, eg. google chrome.

  • Please help I need to download a new browser, I get notices that my browser is outdated. I have tried to download several but I get notices that it is not compatible with my device, eg. google chrome.

  • Please answer me, my device takes too long to load apps when turn on.

  • When I on it takes more time to load apps , please help me solve this problem.

  • You probably have a different device or you don't know what rose gold means. This is a bronze device, and even the colour brown describes its color better than rose gold.

  • The color is rose gold, Not black or bronze. I can't get it to update from the 3.0 version.

  • KATKISS 6.0 great ROM that will upgrade you to Android 6 Marshmallow.

  • I have one Asus Transformer TF101, was working fine, but recently turned really slow, just to turn on take more than 5 minutes, and take to long time to open apps, what can i do to fix this? Other problem is, i cant sync it with my pc, now just request my use Asus Sync but never find my tablet, any other solution to fix this? Thanks

  • I have flashed it a few newer roms ... there are many out there

  • Hi all ;-) I dont expect anywhere near the latest but is it possible to get this Pad Flashed to a Better/Newer OS ;-??

  • I would call it 'bronze' - the colour ...

  • Make sure that you're logged into your Google Play account. And also make sure that the date on your device is correct.

  • i got a problem while downloading or update any app from play store - "error retrieving info. from server df-dla-15 " plz help

  • Love my asus tf101. No problems Also have a Samsung also a great unit

  • Give that a read, and you should be able to do it yourself friend.

  • The colour is NOT black! The colour is brown!

  • I know how to do it

  • Okay, I am not a techy but I love my TF101, I'd like to find someone to get the os upgraded and keep working with it. Anyone know someone that will do it for me?

  • Look up some forums for yourself. Batteries, chargers, and screens stop working for no reason...fine if it happens during the one years warranty. Not so good if it happens a year and three months after purchase date and customer service tells you it will cost you 10 dollars less to fix it than what you paid for it brand new. These tablets are junk. I will never buy anything from asus again...especially after reading in the forums when mine broke.

  • Agree!

  • you don't no what you are talking about

  • The Transformer, when it came out in 2011, was one of the best, if not the best tablets running Android. With its optional keyboard it had a 16 hour screen on time battery. It's dual core Nvidia Tegra was no slouch. Even today it's a decent tablet. Still runs many games just fine and it handles the Web just fine. Asus had something here with the Transformer setup. They just didn't market enough not get training materials out to big box stores,

  • It's a piece of crap. If you just want a tablet to access email it's OK but if you want to access the net forget it. Constantly locks up and freezes.

  • No update available ...

  • My battery needs replaced also. Where did you find replacement at? Thanks

  • Dead Battery, Just Happened to Me Today, I am Buying a New Replacement Battery ($24.88) and Putting it in Myself, ... After Owning this (Tablet) Since 2010 ... Really Excellent Battery Life, Charged Every 3 or 4 Days ...

  • Use the External Memory Card, Put it into a Card Reader to Load Files from Your PC, (USB Card Reader) Put The Micro SDHC Card Back into Your TF101 Move/Copy Files from Card to Internal Memory, The ASUS Sync Seems to be only for Data, Pictures, ePubs - etc.

  • It Reboots Randomly, Because You Are Letting it update On-Line, Turn Off the WiFi to the Tablet to Stop this Reboot Process... And Allow it to update When You're Willing to Put Up with the Rebooting !!! Simple !

  • The Power Adapter for this is a 15volts 1.2 Amps LPS (Low Power State Battery) Fast Charge or 5volts @ 2Amps - Trickle - The Detachable Version was Discontinued (by ASUS) due to Hot Fast Charging LPS .. A Five Volt ONLY Charger May Damage the Battery and or Tablet - Use Caution !! I Purchased the Newer Replacement Version which Runs Very Cool to the Touch IT DOES NOT HAVE the Detachable Front & Back ! I Bought Mine Two Spare Adapters (The New Replacement Version) on Amazon.com

  • Agree, I used it for 4 years. But the original adopter has been damaged last month.

  • Hi can anybody tell me the voltage for a usb adaptor plug for a usb charger for asus transformer TF101

  • Have used this tablet, including dock keyboard, since new. 4 years later it is still going strong. With keyboard attached and a decent office package (office suite pro), it is still the best compromise of laptop style functionality and tablet touchscreen flexibility. Like others, I utterly recommend rooting and installing Timduru Katkiss. Breathes new life into a lovely work of technical art!

  • after i did the update with katkiss 4.4.4 ,its a new tablet!fast, very responsive...

  • As mentioned in earlier post Katkiss is available in XDA forum. It is stable and fast, makes the tablet very usable with updated features of Lollipop. You need to unlock your tablet (if its not already) and install the latest recovery (TWRP or CWM). All the instructions and required downloads can be found at XDA. Goodluck!

  • There is a custom ROM called Katkiss from Timduru, but of course you should root your device first. Now Katkiss is on Lollipop v. 5.0.2; Google it, there is plenty of information.

  • how did you upgrade it to kitkat.its only honeycomb, tell me bro.tnx

  • I bought several chargers and adapters on EBAY as I lose mine or someone with an Apple (IOS) product thinks it will work for theirs and walks off with it... have bought 3ft wall chargers, a car charger, 6ft data cables and a couple of adapters---all under $10

  • how did you hard reset it?

  • Hi For. I too have an Asus TF101, and was Elle to Android 4.0.3. You download the update from the Asus.com web site, extract it to your SD card, think you then restart your tablet and it does the rest. There is a full set of instructions on the site. Does run quicker and more stable, with more apps available from the play store. All the best.

  • Hi, I just got an Asus TF 101 with Android 4.0.3 and I would love to get the newest KatKiss..because I want XBMC on it. The only thing is I don't dare to do it because the instructions are all in English and my English is good;-), but not in technical/computer terms. So...is there anybody out there who can help me in Dutch??? Thanx so much!

  • how i upgrade tf101 to (ics) recently im using 3.1(honeycomb) please any one help me to upgrade the tf101

  • I have had a TF101 since release and it is now running kit kat 4.4.4 (katkiss version) @ 1.4 mhz very reliably. I have changed the charger for one off of Amazon. At over 600g weight it is heavy compared to the 350g of more modern tablets and a screen 140ppi density is only half the latest ones but it still runs everything I throw at it. It does struggle with 1080p but then the screen is only designed with 720p in mind. During the time I have had it, volume of the sound used to be an issue but the later android releases have fixed that. Being able to plug it into a keyboard and long battery life of 14/15 hours use makes it still an essential piece of kit for work and play. USB and memory card slot still makes it far more versatile than the latest offerings. I will be using mine for a while yet.

  • The comment posted by AddyOnline is ridiculous. If a person is going to own one of these devices, then you should learn how to fix these issues. This tablet is old, it runs a Tegra 2 T20... nothing is going to change that. But if you expect to use this tablet far past its End of Life, then you need to learn how to root. It's very easy these days, as there are a one-click solutions available that even install CWM recovery for you. Mine is running KatKiss 4.4.4, and I have overclocked it to 1.4Ghz. Buttery smooth KitKat performance, for slightly less battery life.

  • Have you considered full back up and wipe? I recently put a custom 4.4.4 ROM onto my TF101 and now it runs even better than it did when first got it. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to continue using what is otherwise a great tablet. I also have the 300T but prefer the 101 due the speaker arrangement.

  • Nonsense I've the tablet for 2 years now. It's a great tablet and I have had no problems with my charger. The charcher has a current of 2,1A, so after an hour or two the battery is fully charged

  • Worst product I have ever used. Pathetic Service Center. Poor Built Quality. Poor Speakers. The products hangs a lot. Internet Browser takes ages to load. Start up takes 2-3 mins in loading. Any app you run will hang with a message to report or wait. I have performed Hard Reset many times. Still same problem every day. I took it to the Service Center... nothing has fixed it. Agent do not respond to you call. ASUS seems to have disowned this product. They never bother to send any patch or fix or even upgrade.

  • This is a great tablet i use it every day for my high school uses it dies all i need and its NVIDIA Tegra 2 is great for the odd occasional gaming

  • NEVER BUY IT!!! Multiple charger problems!! All over internet!!! do not buy it!!!! Chargers melting... charger burned... do not buy it!!!

  • ok for the guys who's chargers are faulty I did this to fix it the USB charger comes in two parts one part has the socket pins and the other is the charger part slide the pin part off the socket part ,inside the pin part there is a spring like part that is supposed to click/clip the two parts together and make contact if that clip is broken there is no contact between the pins and the charger, inside is a screw ,loosen the screw a bit and slide the pin part back onto the charger and try and jam the two together so that the two parts can't easily be seperated if it still loose take it apart and and loosen the screw more let the tablet charge for at least 10 minutes if fully flat before you see something happen

  • Mine is running KitKat 4.4.2 through a custom rom. Yes it's highly unspported, but it works.

  • im runnnug kit kat 4.4.2 with multi window via a custom rom

  • How did you install jelly bean os on tf101 cause mine is only ics?

  • No it is not

  • I installed version 4.3.1 and Jelly Bean is working better than my Galaxy S4.

  • yap, thats possible, with the KATKISS ROM

  • Is This Tab. is Upgradable To Jelly Bean 4.2? thank you in advance for the Answer/s:)

  • Search xda developers. First, you'll need to install a new recovery and from there you will be able to upgrade. You have to follow all of the steps carefully, or you will end up with a brick.

  • how can i upgrade my version...im still using 4.0.3...this is the stock version...i want to upgrade to android jellybean 4.2...please help me...thank you in advance...

  • This tablet does have sim card support, or may be versions of it do.

  • the best tablet in the world

  • The power adaptor rating of 5V = 2A is just too hard to come by. have not been able to power mine since it got burnt 2 week after purchase. kindly advice where to get it

  • Do you have adapter ? I will buy...

  • Good: performance , usb connectivity, good display, great wifi at long distances, good keyboard and nice shock resistant, battery lasts 4 ever!! Bad: Speakers inaudible(better use hdmi),Crashes and reboots randomly , so not reliable. you can see my youtube profile

  • Its fantastic it has a long charge huge memory and very fast. I have over the past year found a few bugs but they are minor to be honest i have no complaints just wanted to thank the team who made them! :)

  • It will charge on a usb, just extemely slow. It is only a trickle charge when using a usb.

  • you must install android adb software on your PC before it can recognize your tablet. FYI TF101 does not charge on PC usb.

  • no it won't, the pin slots won't fit

  • please answer this. can the asus tf101's dock fit into tf700 or tf201 or tf300? thanx in advance

  • Try pressing the power button for 3 seconds

  • try flashing the firmware

  • Hey guys I am not able to power on my transformer without connecting it to the charger. However the power button is working fine for locking the screen. I am not able to figure out the problem. Please help.

  • @Vineet Well i bought it from letsbuy, but as letsbuy is collaborated with flipkart, they no longer have Transformer Tf101. Instead they have Transformer Prime which costs around 50K. However one of my friend got it from black market in mumbai. If you are in delhi you can try nehru place or palika bazaar. Answer to your next question is, yes you can connect external hard drive to it. I bought it bcozz of that only. Not only that, you can connect any usb peripheral to even xbox controller!!!. Aah I forgot to tell you that you can call to asus india no. and ask them where u can buy it from. check this link:

  • Where to buy it in North India and what will be the pricing with or without hardware keyboard?? Also could it be possible to connect external hard disk to it if connected with keyboard attachment?? Hoping for quick reply!!

  • I am totally unable to get answers out of Asus as to why my TF101 can NOT "see" my Wi-Fi signals above Channel 11! The App : Wi-Fi Analyser shows it is [apparently] able to get to Channel 14, but this damned TF101 can't "see" one of my Wi-Fi's on Channel 13

  • Its great i used to hate android but after experience with the eepad tf101 i love it like the boxes its gorrilla glass not a scratch

  • to Joe i had the same problem . the charger must be tight with the pins on the charger unclip it and clip the pins on again it should click if it doesnt the locking part has broken and you will have to make another plan

  • Hardware -> Awesome, ultra versatile , battery lasts an incredible huge amount of hours using keyboard. Software -> a lot of bugs to fix, asus must fix ya! Birds and web crashes too often,O.S. never.Great 3d, but Android 4 doesn't seems to be 100% adapted to this hardware. 6.5/10

  • Hi all..., i just bought this tablet recently, but i've got problem with the charging.., it doesn't want to charge when charge it.., i dont know what happent with my tablet.., there is anyone know that problem..., my tablet running with icw. Thanks....

  • Well, I love how asus took care to update it to V4.0 ICS. It`s not too heavy, fits well in the hand, and its processor is quite good, although it tends to stutter quite a lot when flipping though home screens, and most live wallpapers further slow it down. Gaming with it is quite nice and smooth, thanks to the Tegra 2, and internet browsing is pretty pleasant, even with larger web pages. The camera is not impressive as its videos are not very good quality and very grainy in medium and low light, but it`s a tablet, so the camera is not very important. Also, from time to time it randomly reboots while in sleep mode while unplugged, but it has not happened too often recently after a firmware update. Overall, its quite good, but if u have the extra cash, get the transformer Prime, or of not, u can either get this or the ipad2. I have not used the Ipad 2 extensively so I can`t really compare the experiences, but get whatever suits you best

  • There was a new system update to the TF101 last week. So far, it seems to have corrected the issues with the reboot loop for me as well as the no sound issue. I've had it for over a week now.

  • You are saying your battery does not last more that 4 hours. Well that is unusual. It would be helpful if you could mention how exactly do you use your tablet. Do you keep browsing the web/playing videos during those 4 hours? That said, 4 hrs does sound low under any circumstance. Maybe you need to get it checked.

  • Try MX player. It plays everything I can throw at it. I do play 720p videos regularly, but I have never tried playing a 1080p video. And this is not the place to ask about "downloading" HD movies, its illegal after all. Just a little hint though.....look up p2p networks and amaderforum.

  • hi dude, i m facing some problem to play hd video like 1080 p or 720 p??could u plz suggest me which player really help me to run such hd video??i got mobi eith codec but still it is not working properly. also which site is appropriate for download hd movie?? thanks with regards Sadi

  • I have just got new tf101 1 week ago. but unable to run hd video like 1080p or 720 p. even if it is start dan gotta close after 1 0r 2 mins. any buddies know how i can resolve it???which type of Android apps really gonna need for it???

  • they i am getting only 4hrs max battery life with wifi on my tf101. Is this the norm?

  • for all you peeps on ICS having trouble with randoom reboot, install wakelock from android market and keep setting at 'partial'...reboot problem solved!

  • why asus TF1010 does not support video call for yahoo messenger, facebook & Skypes. anyone can help me regarding this issue.

  • Un neviena vārda, ka sim modelim ir HSDPA vai 3G....

  • Hi Friends! Asus Transformer TR01 or Ipad2-Wifi? cofused...suggestion pls....! rgds Nzr

  • Try settings->ASUS customised settings-> uncheck "Use Asus quick setting" This alternate notification bar does cause random reboots sometimes. Or it might be because of some specific application (I see this has already been addressed).

  • I have the same problem I think best solution is to wipe data then install the apps one by one to know wich one causethe reboot

  • go to settings, application settings, manage apps, select the app u want and tap uninstall, or go to the apps page on the market. Its a struggle for me cause i have 407 apps

  • I hope Asus come out with a Transformer Tablet & keyboard dock with a 11 or 12inch screen sometime this year or in 2013 to replace my fantastic Current Eee Pad.

  • Love my Eee pad, use more than laptop now, but the tablet will ICS & all updates sometime while in sleep mode switches itself off, others are reporting this aswell, hopefully Asus will fix this soon.

  • How do you move apps to the sd card?:-(

  • How do you move apps to the sd card?:-(

  • Got my latest ICS upgrade.I am really pleased. My first move to was trouble free. This one just speeds up everything. Another great effort from Asus.

  • Just updated my TF 101 which already had ICS, Android version remains at 4.0.3. So, this should be the much awaited bug fix, hopefully with all the Nvidia drivers. First Impressions Boot time has reduced considerably, loudspeaker output is back to normal and everything seems peppier.

  • Does anyone know when will they release the ICS update in India?

  • Get a micro sd -> format at fat32 -> copy the OFFICIAL FIRMARE zip file to the sd root-> power off -> insert the sd ->power on while pressing vol dn button-> after the 1st message press vol up. This will install the firmware again. If you want you can install any official firmware from asus.com It is better to wipe your android before changing O.S.

  • Great machine , amazing 3d, Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich until 29-2-2012, the only bad think is the weight.

  • Anyone can help please i just upgraded my tf 101 to ics after that the device reboot itself randomly i excuted a hard reset and back up but the device still has the same problem

  • Just got ICS on the Eee Pad. For the most part, ICS runs well and fixes some nagging issues with the latest Honeycomb version of Android. One thing I find with ICS is that it seems to break some of the Flash features of the non-stock, non-Chrome browser. I am having issues maximising videos on Dolphin HD, and Dolphin for Pad. I don't have these same issues with the new stock browser and with Chrome. I suspect that an update for those other browsers is needed for them to run well on ICS.

  • loving android 4.0 on my transformer

  • just receive an upgrade to 4.0 in Singap.ore. absolutely love it.

  • Yes ASUS is going to release the ICS update sometime late this month or early this month. Unfortunately it was supposed to be released in January. So you gotta just be patent and wait and just keep checking if your tablet has an update. I know I cant wait!!!!

  • When it will update to ICS(ice cream Sandwich) 4.0!

  • i love these device, i feel comfortable using it.

  • I've had this about three months and it has really lived up to the hype. The one thing it does not do is allow proper editing of Microsoft Office formats - the Polaris software is fine for creating simple docs but if you are working on Word, Powerpoint or Excel docs created on other machines you won't be able to do much with them other than read them. Aside from that, love it.

  • Very good the i am surprise it interface

  • i've owned the asus for about a week now and i must say it is fabulous!!!! extremely responsive and very easy to use!! beautifully designed and it's not heavy as alot of the reviews say at all!! easy to customize and make it your own!!! it does not support alot of movie codecs so it would behoove you to download a movie player from the android market --it's free!!!other than that buy one and enjoy---i take with me everywhere and it does have a micro sd card slot on the tablet itself!!! i use it !!!hope this was helpful to someone!!!!

  • Models A1 and B1 differs by memory size... And model G includes 3g internet connectivity...

  • Can someone tell me the difference between the Asus eee pad transformer models? tf101-a1, tf101-b1 and tf101g???? I want to purchase one but unsure whats the difference.

  • @anonymous it will last about 9 hours on regular use @vonn no the tablet it self does not have a USB port, has been said that there is some kind of adapter where the charging port goes which will allow you to have a usb on it @march yes it fairly correct it does last that long! :)

  • I love this tablet.....its awsum in all the ways!!!! But i have a query that can one use the internet on this tablet through a tethered connection or through a USB internet stick? Please do answer

  • It stands for USB On-The-Go. Please, see this link for more info:

  • usb otg?

  • it has GPS

  • m reli tq 4 ur reply. appreciate it. u had mention my questions very detail. thanks alot.

  • 1. Not sure about USB OTG as I don't use it. Only the keyboard dock has USB ports. You can stick a USB thumb drive on it. There seems to be some issues when trying to connect phones that can function as a USB drive. My HTC Desire Z doesn't work and also there are reports other phones don't work either. I have no problem with my USB thumb drive. 2. There is no micro-USB port on the tablet. To charge it you need to use the special charging cable that comes with the Eee Pad. That cable is able to plug into a regular USB port such as your PC. The Eee Pad also comes with a power adapter to plug into your power outlet. It has a USB connector for the charging cable. The charging cable end that plugs into the Eee Pad looks proprietary. It is a wide flat connector similar to the ones you see on Apple devices (but not the same). 3. You do not need a PC at all to use the Eee Pad. Just set up your WiFi connection and update your firmware. 4. I have had no issues with my WiFi reception. It seems the reception is better than my phone (HTC Desire Z) in certain corners of my house. 5. There is currently no 3G version. I have heard that there is one due out. The Transformer II is also supposed to be announced some time soon. I have no official links to confirm this.

  • hi, usually in gsmarena for phone if it support OTG. it will list out. but this don't have. so m very curious bout this. 1.) does this support OTG function? can it open external HDD? 2.)can i charge it through microusb? 3.) can i straightaway update its firmware in this tab without using laptop or pc. 4.) how is it wifi reception. is it strong. 5.) does asus comes out with 3g version?

  • hi, without the keyboard does this thing support OTG function??

  • i'm using my transfromer for about a week now and it's running 3.2.1 and no issues at all. the tablet is still the same when upgraded to ver. 3.2.1 and i'm perfectly happy with it.

  • This one tablet so great. Fits for any lifestyle.. love it!!! : D

  • excellent and cheap tablet!!!!! Highly recommended

  • This is a WiFi only tablet, so no SIMM card is required or even possible. Purchasing apps requires a credit card. Free apps do not need a credit card.

  • of course u can. im plugging in my disk on key and using my 3g from the samsung galaxy s for internet.

  • hey!! asus eee pad users can ne 1 tell me does dis tab supports a external hard disk through USB & can i synchronise d tab wid my phone 2 use 3g via it :)

  • Do i need a Simcard to use this device ? And how do i buy things through android ? credit cards ?

  • When I use the USB ports to connect a USB thumb drive, it works fine. If I connect my HTC Desire Z to it and set my phone to connect as a USB drive, the Eee Pad does not recognise it. All it does is charge my phone.

  • just receive the 3.2.1 update.

  • Sorry friends, i was misguided by the vendor.. the two USB ports on the keyboard dock are for file sharing and storage only.. To connect it to a 3G dongle/adapter you have to use a Mifi (Mobile Wireless Router) like D-Link DIR-412

  • oops!! sorry! USB 3G dongle..

  • hi, im using this tab and it has full size USB point on the right side of the keyboard dock and you can use it to connect it to a USB 3d dongle / USB modem

  • I just picked this up with the keyboard dock, it's running prefectly as far as I can tell so far, and it's got Androdi 3.2 installed. No issues at all. Runs smooth as silk. Highly recommend!

  • Amazingly surpised with this device.!Especially the screen and the design is amazing. I believe that it is amongst the best hw/sw devices. 10'

  • I'm running 3.2 on my Eee Pad and I have no such issues with it.

  • I'll have to verify the Android version on my Eee Pad when I get home. I believe it has 3.2. I updated it when I first got it last month and I have had no issues with it.

  • I have one myself. I upgraded it to 3.2 when I got it and it runs perfectly smooth. The newer transformer stock that is being sent out direct from Asus has 3.2 pre-installed.

  • Warning!! To all owners/users of Aus Transformer 101. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT upgrade your unit to Honeycomb 3.2. The current operating system (3.1) is perfect and all apps run smoothly and without a hitch. But the moment you upgrade to 3.2, disaster strikes. The tablet becomes slow and jerky, scrolling is slow and late to react, and almost every app that you have will begin malfunctioning. The tablet becomes absolutely useless, as you will not be able to run a single app. Even the live desktop backgrounds become slow and jerky. I took the unit back to Asus but they were unable to roll back the OS to 3.1. (They tried very hard, but it didn't help). So please stay with 3.1. The unit works perfectly with that and it is a worthy competitor to Apple iPad. But with Honeycomb 3.2 you will have a useless piece of kit on your hands. I feel that the NVidia Tegra chip is unable to handle Honeycomb 3.2, but Asus is not admitting that. Google and other deice producers using Honeycomb have go to clarify this issue so that their cistomers don't fall into this trap. More importantly Google needs to either produce a fix for this or a way to roll back to 3.1.

  • Just got it recently, and loving it. With the optional keyboard dock it is really versatile, especially due to the 2 USB slots. The software is really good too. A really good device

  • You need to purchase the keyboard dock in order to get the USB ports. You get 2 of them. The tablet has Google Maps included and access to the Android Market to download other apps. If you want to get the tablet plus keyboard dock, I recommend the Eee Pad over the Galaxy Tab. I have seen poor reviews about the Galaxy Tab's keyboard dock. The reviews of the Eee Pad's keyboard dock have been good.

  • And yes, it has google maps apps and you have access to the Android Market. Personnally i would go with the Asus. With the Asus you can add a micro SD card wich you can't with the samsung.

  • Hi, no, it has no USB port at all. Only HDMI port.

  • hi, for this tablet users & the experts plz help me 1-this tablet has a full size USB or not so i can use a USB modem cause it doesnt have a 3G? 2-this tablet has google application such as google maps & android store for apps or not ? 3- comparing to the samsung galaxy tab 10.1 which one you reccomend ? thanks in advance .. waiting for your replies

  • Best Android tablet so far. Screen very responsive and fast interface. Keyboard dock turns it into an android honeycomb 3.2 netbook. 16 gig internal storage, 32 gig micro sd and 32 gig full size sd card (on dock) for a grand total of up to 80gig storage.

  • Just bought one, well impressed!! screen is very responsive and sharp and the docking station is a excellent add on

  • I find that the tablet is more comfortable to hold while in portrait orientation than in landscape.

  • The only problem with this tab is that its really really heavy

  • Bought and using it. Totally fall in love it. Was comparing with my iPad2, iPad2 wins on smoothness and easy to use. While this baby beats em with more feature and more crisp image due to larger resolution and keyboard+battery dock which is total perfect tablet to own.

  • Got this tab today, and I must say, I'm pretty impressed.. Smooth touch sensitivity, great UI(3.2),great price..

  • I was referring to the official Facebook app rather than a third party one. I am using FriendCaster to provide some native app functionality, but I find with all third party apps I have tried, I am having issues where updates for a number of my friends are not showing up . Only the official Facebook app on my phone shows updates for all of my friends.

  • Which OS do you feel it should run?

  • Slow and heavy and the OS shold be diferent not Android

  • Got it a week ago with the keyboard dock. I am really impressed with it. The stock browser gives me an experience close to what I get from a PC. Just would like a few more native apps like a Facebook one.

  • The Eee Pad is dark brown.

  • I hope there will be 3G version of Asus Eee Pad transformer

  • Tell me please, wich is the color of Asus Eee Pad Transformer? I saw and brown and somthing alike metalic... thnx

  • Bought this one today. Im loving it!!!! Mwuah mwuah mwuah.

  • From the Philippines who asked where to buy screen protector and docking keyboard, you can buy it in Greenhills...dami doon naka display. You can stroll around to look for better price.

  • go to : www.amazon.com or: www.ebay.com

  • Where can i purchase screen protector case and docking keyboard im from thephilippines

  • love it! i have it for two days & let me tell you this tablet is awesome! the interface is amazing and its Features... if i could enhance the screen to 12' screen it will be the best tablet ever!!!!

  • I received the EEE Transformer as a present, and I simply love it. Its interface is awesome, it's really fast and you can customize it as much as you want.

  • I love this tablet. It's not perfect but I do not regret buying it. Took me some time to decide what tablet to get and I think i came up with the right decision. I love the fact that it has a micro sd slot. I just hope that they sell spare usb cables in the future :-)

  • Im thinking in returning my transformer (32gb model), i hate the backlight bleeding problem and the tablet construction its not very solid, the left part with the vol. control and on/off button the housing its kind of loose. i also have the virtual keyboard lag. the rest, touch, screen contrast and colors, gps and wifi reception is very good (im on 3.2).

  • I just Got the eee Pad without keyboard and I'm very pleased. After comparing it with a friend's Iconia, we were more pleased with the Asus: It's lighter and the wi-fi reception is better, among other things.

  • Yes it does. in my opinion it's the best tablet there is because of the keyboard. It's not the lightest, but the possibilities with the keyboard attached are better than on other tablets...

  • i want to buy tablet but im not sure, iconia A500 or ASUS Eee pad?

  • yes

  • Does it fold down when docked with keyboard?

  • I personnaly had a few lagging problem with the virtual (and also the physical keybord) in the stock Honneycomb browser on my Eee Pad Transformer. However Opera works fine without any keyboard lag so I realy recommend you to use Opera. Hope this helps.

  • I'm currently considering the Eee Pad and the iPad 2. The iPad 2 seems to have a better touch screen interface. I really like some of the gestures that I see in iOS that Android doesn't have. Pinch to zoom on a video automatically changes it to full screen. The gestures used on some web sites seem to do what I want more so than on the Eee Pad and other Android tablets. I am familiar with Android, as I have an Android phone. Those advantages the iPad 2 has isn't a deal breaker for me. What I really like about the Eee Pad is the keyboard attachment. That's what is really drawing me towards the Eee Pad. I tried an Eee Pad at the store and found that on the Android Forums web site, the keyboard (virtual) lags a bit much like my phone (before my phone got a firmware upgrade). I'm thinking that a firmware upgrade would also resolve this issue on the Eee Pad. It's not a deal breaker for me as I probably would be using the Opera browser which doesn't exhibit this problem. Just wondering if anyone experienced any lag when using the virtual keyboard. It only happened on that one site. Other sites are fine.

  • Hi buddy, I have tried both and personaly i would go with the Asus. The screen is more responsive. Regards,

  • Good luck, Hope you will get it back soon, Regards,

  • Hi, I'm still undecided between this and the Acer Iconia Tab. @_@ I like the keyboard dock option but it's a little expensive for the additional features it brings. . .

  • Yeah, was left with no choice but had given to ASUS Service Centre ...last week, they will take another 10 to 12 days to fix the same. Lets hope the problem gets fixed and does not return back. Will update one i recieve it.

  • Has the touchscreen problem been resolved yet? I need to know before I decide to purchase this amazing tab.

  • Hi my friend, The only solution i can see. Is to go back to the store to get a replacement. You should have a 1 year garantee. Regards,

  • Tablet Seems to be Great Piece of Work, Expect the Battery Portion . . . Experiencing a strange problem, Battery Indicator shows " ? " Question Mark all the time, without showing the right Indication ? what could be the possible soultion ... Restart, Factory Reset, all has been tried but did not solve the problem.

  • Update coming in July!

  • This weekend i went to a local store nearby to try this tablet. And for 399$, i was surprised by this tablet. I also tried the Moto Xoom and the Acer Iconia and BBerry Playbook. Personally, i would go with this tablet without hesitation. I guess you get a good value out of it. Have a nice day and please enjoy your summer !

  • yes when docked to key board which i feel is must

  • i have ipad2 and just got the transformer 32g and docking station 2days ago,i cant tell gprs can be use and able tp upgrade new version of google map,not as smooth as ipad2 but i can play flash game and almost 30hrs using time, also i can charge my cell phone by connect to the docking station with usb ,that mean i wont easy out of battery when tethering to the transformer, how awesome that is!but ipad 2 still have big win of apps, but i can tell this one is the best android tablet in the market this year for brower and those who still go to school~

  • Is it able to read content from a USB thumbdrive?

  • It's mostly on this site because GSM Arena is growing to be more about mobile computing than about mobile telephony. Telephony is just a feature these days. Connectivity isn't an issue these days because, let's face it, 90% of us here would have a smart phone to tether it to, and there's any number of wifi hotspot solutions from pretty much every carrier. Only having wifi is hardly an issue, to me. Given that Asus have kept the price $200 cheaper than the nearest XOOM, I'd say it's a pretty good effort. The overwhelming sentiment from most reviews seems to be "I can't believe this has the same internals as the XOOM", referring to how quick and responsive the Transformer seems. The biggest criticism I see for it is the slightly wide bezel, to which I have to say "god, man up!". The Transformer dock is to be compatible with future models of the Transformer, so they added a little extra to the size of the current tablet, just in case they couldn't keep future ones down, and so the current tablet would match the existing dock in width, to keep it from looking too stupid.

  • You must be from Moto

  • This will be the new benchmark for tablets and netbooks. I can't wait to get my hands on one. unmatched versatility and flexibility. unmatched battery life when keyboard dock in attached. I am excited to see this market take such a BIG LEAP FORWARD. the Marriage of ASUS and Android should be happily ever after.

  • honestly dont. ive been using it for about ten min and found it to be sooooooo god dam slow. ur better off with a xoom!!!

  • It will launch next week. Then you will see lots of them. First at ASUS Premier Partners ( big box stores and Amazon) then at real dealers, in early May. EeePad TF101-A1 16G $399 EeePad TF101-B1 32G $489 EeePad TF101 DOCKING $149

  • awful device. no 3G. no GPRS. nothing

  • Will be getting this and trading in the galaxy tab

  • nice pad....

  • This is a 2-in-1 pc that transforms from a laptop to a tablet. What is it doing on this site to begin with?

  • Hi,any idea where can I buy this tablet. Because it's written released on april 2011. But on the internet I can't find any websites with this date
